Probably my favourite local artist of the last year, so excited to hear more from these three.

Toys Went Berserk - Have No More (1989)
Toys Went Berserk were a late 80s post punk band from Sydney, Australia. They released two albums before disbanding in 1992. They're one of many bands that were a part of Australia's 80s & 90s indie scene.
I found this specific song while watching old VHS recordings of ABC's Rage and was pleased to see it was already uploaded to YouTube! I adore Coo's vocal style and the gloomy instrumentals that accompany her voice. I consider this to be one of my all time favourite songs :)

I am taking a moment to appreciate My Friend The Chocolate Cake's fantastically evocative songwriting chops
My neighbour does some funny things
He's got three kids and he's got six drinks to go
Before he sleeps tonight
Singing liberation songs out on the front verandah

'L'enfer c'est les autres,' wrote Jean-Paul Sartre, words that ring all too true for the members of The Gloom In The Corner.
They stand, trapped in a prison forged from their own psyches even as moths slowly but steadily nibble away at their clothing.
Soon, they will be left with naught to hide behind, their innermost thoughts and even their very schlongs revealed to one another in a final paroxysm of humiliating exposure.
Sad metal is sad indeed.

Me whenever I remember that Chrissy is dead while watching a live show recording:
I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THAT AUDIENCE DAMN IT!!!

I've said it before and will say it again. Grace Cummings' new album Ramona is one of my favorites of the year.
We talk all about it, and how #AngelOlsen's Big Time lent some inspiration, in a new interview at Consequence or wherever you get podcasts.
