"We always had confidence in ourselves, and we were right"
I talked with #Slade legend #NoddyHolder about Cum On Feel the Hitz, influencing Nirvana and Poison, and why “Get Down and Get With It” was the song that changed everything.

#Daughter’s Stereo Mind Game took 7 years, 3 abandoned versions, and some literal junk mail to get here.
#IgorHaefeli tells me about writing lyrics from spam folders, recording strings in a swimming pool, and the beautiful disaster of trying to keep things simple.

In 1993, Saturation threw velvet suits into a grunge tsunami—and survived. #UrgeOverkill’s King and Nash tell us how they accidentally wrote radio hits, got schooled by the Dust Brothers, witnessed #Nirvana explode in real time, and got upstaged by lobster with #PearlJam in Oklahoma.

#GreggRolie—founding voice of #Santana, co-architect of #Journey, and longtime #RingoStarr ally—returned with Sonic Ranch, his first solo album in 18 years.
He brought his son along to co-produce. He resurrected a lost Journey classic. He kept the solos shorter. And yes, he even wrote a peace-and-love anthem inspired by Ringo… in under 3 minutes.
Hear why he never looks back, rarely rewrites, and still thinks the world’s a little nuts.

Back in 2012, Go Fly a Kite wasn’t just an album title—it was #BenKweller’s whole mood.
At SXSW that year, he was running on zero sleep, fresh off a Japan/Australia tour, launching his own label, wrangling dad duties, and somehow still found time to talk boots, nostalgia, and rebellious packaging.
“I think about it like me and my fans against everybody,” he said. “We’re a little quirky, little left of center.”
Twelve years later, the kite still flies.

Tonight on WFPK at 6p: #Slade’s legendary howler #NoddyHolder drops by to explain how Merry Christmas Everybody accidentally became a pension plan.
Also on deck: Beatles nostalgia, Ramones chaos, Petty cool, Waits weird, Costello wit, Bobby Bare Jr.’s twangy existentialism, new David Byrne, and the glorious absurdity of The Gong Show theme.
Catch it while the glitter’s still stuck to your eyeliner.

This week on Kyle Meredith With…, I’m joined by Swedish pop star #ZaraLarsson, followed by a Rewind episode featuring my interviews with Randy Bachman (BTO, The Guess Who) and the late, great Gary Brooker of Procol Harum.
And on WFPK (weeknights at 6p ET), it’s a parade of legends: Noddy Holder of Slade, John Densmore of The Doors, Sir #PaulMcCartney, Ann Wilson of Heart, and Brandon Flowers of The Killers.
That’s enough rock royalty to start a coup.

Burned out, vitamin-depleted, and stabbing B12 into their butt just to get through the week, #TashSultana knew they needed a reset.
That reset became Terra Firma, a record full of sax solos, signature guitars, and sonic healing. Tash talks collaborating with big-name artists, carving out creative balance, and why genre doesn’t matter—just the feeling.

What do Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Graham Norton, and a prosthetic-covered #OliverSim have in common?
They all helped shape Hideous Bastard, Sim’s gloriously confessional solo debut. He opens up about fear, shame, and why horror films made him feel seen, plus what’s next for him and #TheXX.

#MattAndKim’s Almost Everyday is part dance party, part existential crisis.
We talked about Kim’s onstage ACL tear in Mexico (ouch), the depression that followed, feeling the years fly by, how community shaped the record, and why they called their crowd-split moment “The Walls of Kim’s Vagina.”
Also: covers, cults, broken fingers, and Matt’s ongoing beef with his own voice.

#RodArgent of #TheZombies joined me to talk about how Odyssey and Oracle went from forgotten flop to cult classic, what it was like approving #Eminem’s sample of “Time of the Season,” and why #PhilCollins can’t find the copy of a record he played on.
Also: the podcast that brought “A Rose for Emily” back into the spotlight, the #BrianWilson band member who knew every note of Odyssey, and if Rod’s still writing new music in his home studio.
