DP x DC Prompt 7

In her youth, Ella Lopez was known as Danielle Masters or Danielle Fenton. The halfa was in a car accident not too terribly long after she struck out on her own (or after Phantom Planet, should you like that). Her human half died, and Ellie thought that was it. In the wreckage, she met Rae-Rae.

Everyone else in the accident died, and it took Ellie a moment to realize she was still breathing. That she wasn't a ful ghost after all. Rae-Rae was fascinated by her, and in the end one of two things happened:

Azrael helped her choose an adoptive family and take on a permanent glamour to fit into their household, thus Ella Lopez of the show. Now Ella is trying to figure out why her angelic best friend pushed her to meet the actual devil

Azrael took her to Michael Demiurgos, who adopted her, and Ellie became either an alternate sort of Elaine Belloc (possibly still named Ella Lopez if you want to do a comics + show + Danny Phantom crossover/fusion) or a pseudo sister to her. Danielle could very much sympathize with the wtfery Elaine has to deal with bc of Sandalphon in particular

Whichever angle, I think Ghost King AU with Ellie as an heir would add an extra layer of fun ;)

Para lo de candidatos románticos: Medio random, but Azrael x Pandora o Azrael x Seba porqué me da gracia la idea de que le roben el novio a la media hermana (?) Aunque siento que no terminaría bien para ninguno de los involucrados ah.

Also por el lado de lo caótico: ya que Eris es incestuosa para molestar y Eze anda soltero... Eris x Eze (????

Siento que Pandora terminaría llorando después de las citas, más que nada porque Azrael intentaría meterla en sus ~planes malvados~ con mucha insistencia y a ella no le gustaría para nada. Con Seba se cagarían a las piñas, lo cual no es muy bueno porque Azrael tiene más fuerza que él. Eris estaría recontra molesta, aunque después pensaría que Azrael sentiría ~desesperación~ si se entera que Seba terminó "engañándolo" con ella (leer: beso forzado), y ahí le va a salir la sonrisa macabra (?) pero terminaría evitando cualquier relación entre Azrael y Pandora xd a ella le tiene un poco más de respeto por estar relacionada a Fred, ah.

Chapter 1: What happened?  (Lucifer x Reader)

Summary: Ella is your best friends since you were children, never went apart until you encouraged her to move to LA. You guys haven't seen each other for two years until Ella tried to get in touch with you. 

You somehow disappeared and was worried sick. Once you were found and better, Ella promised to make sure you never have to suffer in silence alone. Making you move in with her, and now you are gonna be working with her. 

The thing is she never told her friends at work anything about you. She was waiting until you got better and moved in with her, but a rich playboy with devilish charms took the pleasure of meeting you first.

“What do you mean you don’t know where she is!” Ella began panicking in her lab alone. She couldn’t even concentrate on her work that Decker needed.

“I’m sorry sis. Our family has been looking around the block and her home. There was no trace of anything. Her phone was left behind along with her wallet. She's gone.” Her brother sighed over the phone. His voice seemed tired and guilty. Ella can’t blame him for trying. Ella put the phone away from her ear to calm her breathing and tears.

“Okay. Thank you so much, and tell everyone that I love them. I’ll take it from here.” Ella hung up the phone and placed it on the table. She covered her face and hunched over the table with her elbows on it. She prayed that you were alive and well. Nothing scared her more than losing a long life friend that was basically her sister.

“Are you okay?” A familiar voice asked. Ella gasped and quickly put her head up, showing her teary eyes threatening to fall.

“Ray-Ray?” Ella was shocked to see her ghost friend all of the sudden. “W-What are you doing here?” Ella turned around and used her shirt to wipe away the tears that were about to shed. Ray’s face turned concerned and took a step closer to put a hand on her shoulder.

“I was gonna visit you to see how you were doing, and it looks like I came at the right time. What’s up with you?” Ray asks her and Ella looks up at her and tries to keep her composure.

“(Y/n) disappeared, or more like kidnapped. I don’t know but something isn’t right and I’m so worried about her. I knew I shouldn’t have left her behind. I’ve been gone for two years and this happens.” Ella’s voice was broken and it made the secret angel sad as well. You were also a big part of her life and it was thanks to you that Ella finally left her corrupt family. You couldn’t even see or hear her, but it’s like you agreed to her opinion on the spot. If Ella couldn’t listen to her at the time, then she would listen to you. She even thought about letting you see her so that it can be the three of you.

“Ella let’s calm down. We don’t know how she disappeared but we both know that she’s a good ass kicker. If anyone could get out of tough situations it would be her.” Ray reassured her while rubbing her arm.

“That’s not gonna stop me from worrying. Can you find her? You're a ghost and maybe you can talk to some other spirits about where she’s been or something. Please..” Ella begged and held Ray’s hand tightly. It broke her angel heart to see a cheerful human so broken. She’s gonna find you one way or another, but she knows she can’t do it alone.

“I’ll go look for her, just keep calm and try not to break down in front of everyone. When I see her I’ll come back with an update. I promise that she’s gonna be alright Ella.” Ray calmly tells her with seriousness. Ella looks up at her ‘ghost’ friend, surprised but calmed down.

“Thank you Ray-Ray.” Ella hugs Ray, surprising the angel guardian and a small smile tugs at her lips.

“No problem Els.” Ray hugs her back and smiles at her human friend.

“Uh Els?” Ray appeared behind her with a nervous smile. Ella turned around quickly by the sound of Ray’s voice. She hasn’t seen her in six months and it was almost driving her crazy worried.

“Did you find her?!” Ella got close to her with so much hope in her eyes.

“Yea I found her and she’s alive but..” Ray fidgeted a bit and Ella’s face turned concerned. “She’s in a critical condition physically..the doctor says that she’ll be fine once she’s healed but her traumatic experience might change her mentally.” Ella puts both hands on her face and tries to hold back a sob. Ella’s reaction made Ray comfort her the best she could to see the good side of things.

“B-But! She won’t go crazy as in asylum crazy. She just won’t be as positive as she was before, and you remember how she was when she first met you. Once (Y/n) sees you again she will be back into her old self in no time.” Ray tries to give her reassurance and hope the best way she can on the spot. Ella sniffs and wipes her tears away, and composes herself.

“So who did this? And how did you get her into the hospital?” Ella’s face turned so serious that it could even make Ray’s devilish brother nervous.

“I was actually lucky to give a ‘ghost’ signal to your friend Maze. She helped out with everything and she’s even coming with one of the culprits as we speak. I honestly don’t know who did this to her. There were so many people involved..it was horrible. It’s best if (Y/n) tells you when she’s all better.” Ray explains her heartbroken friend. For the first time in six months, Ella gave a sigh of relief and a light hearted smile.

“Thank you so much Ray-Ray. I don’t know what I would do without you. You're such a good friend.” Ella hugs her again and Ray happily gives one back, finally relieved that (Y/n) is alive and hopefully gets better. Ray looks through the window and sees Lucifer with Chloe coming in closer to the lab.

“You got company, I gotta go. Bye Els!” Ray quickly disappears in front of her without giving her a chance to say goodbye.

“Well hello Miss Lopez- are you alright?” Lucifer stops in his tracks along with Chloe. Ella’s eyes were still red and the tears made a mark on her cheeks.

“Oh! Don’t worry these are happy tears. I recently solved some personal problems. What’s up?” Ella went back to her happy cheerful self while the two duo looked confused and concerned.

“W-well, we only came back to see if you found anything on the case-Are you sure you're okay? You know you can talk to me about anything.” Decker tried to take her case seriously but it became difficult if her optimistic friend suddenly had puffy eyes and tear stains.

“Come on now, who do I have to punish? Is it an ex?” Lucifer grins and Chloe rolls her eyes.

“I wish it was an ex. Guys I’m serious, I’m happy. You're so sweet to worry about me but things are actually turning around for the better. Come here, I got something for the case.” Ella reassured them with a genuine smile and went to the table. Lucifer and Decker looked at each other and back to Ella. They both know that there’s something strange that happened but they know better than to push. Even the devil himself will back off...for now.

Maze came strolling in the precinct with a smirk on her face. She dragged a guy who’s in a lot of trouble and will get her an amazing amount of cash. This guy is despicable and everyone of the detectives need to interrogate him for their cases. Yea he’s that deep into trouble. The guy keeps groaning in pain and calls for help to any of these officers. Maze pushed him onto the floor and placed her feet on top of his chest.

“Well Mazikeen, had a fun time hunting I see.” Lucifer walked away from Deckers desk towards the demon. Maze looked like a mess as well, but she didn’t care as long as the cash was good.

“This guy is one of my best work. He really kept things entertaining.” Maze smirks at the demon and ties his hands together.

“One of your best work? My, now I have to know what this man has done.” Lucifer looks intrigued at the man. There weren’t many criminals that made Maze so distraught and pleased.

“Is that Loy Huddson?” Chloe gets up to take a closer look at the man on the floor.

“Yeah, what about it?” Maze raises an eyebrow at her.

“He’s on our list for most wanted, the third one on the list. Everyone’s been looking for him everywhere. Maze how did you find him?” Chloe looks at her in bewilderment.

“I just had a hunch, a demon’s gotta keep her secrets too Decker.” Maze grins at Chloe and brings the man to his knees. “Now, how much do I get for this one?”

“You get about $500,000..” Chloe still looks shocked and Lucifer grins and applauds his demon.

“Well done Maze.” Lucifer observes as the officers take the man away and give Maze an envelope that holds the check for the money.

“Since the fun is over I’m gonna go put this baby in my card. First two rounds are on me tonight Decker.” Maze grins and walks away with the check.

“I’m not going out on a girls night out tonight!” Chloe tries to tell her from the distance.

“Great I’ll meet you there!” Maze gave a mischief grin while leaving.

“Looks you have a night off Detective.” Lucifer smiles at the workaholic woman.

“You had something to do with this.” Chloe crossed her arms in front of her chest and glared at the devil.

“Most definitely, come on now detective, we can’t keep these punishments waiting.” Lucifer starts walking out of the precinct despite Chloe’s protest the night off and lectures about the punishment.

A taxi cab stops by infront an apartment building and Ella stands there with excitement and anticipation. She’s been waiting six more months to finally see her friend. Ella has left LA for a week to see you in the hospital during the last six months but she can’t help but jump a bit knowing that you're moving in with her. She promised herself that she will be there for you no matter what, and this time you won’t suffer alone in silence. Ella squealed and ran to the taxi cab, opening the door to pull you out of it and hug you so tight.

“Whoa Ella! Jumping me already?” You laughed and hugged her back just as tightly. You were just happy to be back, even more happier that you're gonna be living with you life long friend.

“I just couldn’t wait, oh! I’m taking you with me to my job in three hours to show you how things work around there.” Ella let’s go with one arm to check her watch.

“Looks like I missed a year of work.” You chuckled and Ella lets go of you and gives you her brightest smile.

“Don’t sweat it, I had my brother mail all of your things over and I saved up some money to put in your card. You only had $300 in it.” Ella smiled proudly as if she was right on schedule. Your face softened and hugged her again.

“Oh Ella you didn’t have to put money in my card, I could’ve made my own money.” You pulled away from the hug and she handed you your wallet and phone.

“Nah, I wanted to give you a boost on your new life, if things are gonna be different I want it to be a good different.” Ella smiled and you swear you couldn’t understand how you deserved an amazing friend.

“Thank you Ella, this means a lot.” You smiled and carried the duffle bag with you while following her inside the apartment.

The apartment seemed comfortable and with the amount of money she gains, she’s really more of a simple person. Others would’ve gone crazy with it. It’s beautiful and full of life, just like her, which made you smile.

“So how do you like the crib?” Ella gestures to the whole apartment with a proud smile.

“It’s perfect Els.” You giggled and followed her to your room. You placed your duffle bag on your bed and sat on the soft and comfortable mattress.

“I’m gonna go take a shower. Wanna go cruise around for a while and get something to eat?” Ella smiled at your relaxed body gesture. Maybe Ray-Ray is right, things could go back to normal.

“Yea sure, I’m gonna take a short nap so wake me up when you're done.” You smiled at her and laid on your bed comfortably.

“Alrighty, I’ll be back for you miss.” Ella winks at you and leaves the room. She closes the door on the way out and you smile to yourself. Things will get better. You closed your eyes and went to sleep. You were so sleepy that you haven’t noticed someone knocking on the door.

“Ms.Lopez? Are you in there?” Lucifer tries to be patient but his situation is just eating him. He easily picked the lock and went inside. He looks around her new apartment and looks at the picture on the shelf. It was a picture of Ella and another woman he’s never seen before. She hasn’t mentioned anyone other than her family.

“Keeping secrets?” Lucifer puts the picture back and proceeds into the hallway. He opens the first door he sees and sees a woman asleep on the bed. The same woman in the photo.

“Well hello, I wonder what makes you more special than her family.” Lucifer steps closer to her, making sure not to wake her up. He see’s how peaceful she looks while she’s dreaming. He gets closer to her and kneels down in front of her. Observing her face and body gesture, something seems to make him drawn to her. Her head moves slightly making her hair move to each side, showing the back of her neck. There's a weird mark on it and Lucifer frowns lightly at it. Lifting his finger to gently graze behind her neck. “What is your story, darling?” He whispers gently to her as if she’s listening.

“Lucifer what are you doing?” Ella was at the doorway with her arms across her chest with a disappointed look. Lucifer quickly stands up and turns around towards Ella.

“I’ve tried knocking but this is important.” He tries to explain and turns to you then back at Ella. “But I have to say Ms. Lopez, I’ve always thought you were an open book.” Lucifer grins and Ella grabs his arm to pull him in the living room.

“Her name is (Y/n).She’s a long life friend, basically like a sister to me. I was gonna introduce you guys to her in two hours. Now, what is it that’s so important?” Ella sighed and looked at the trouble maker impatiently.

“The detective has been really snappy with me lately. Don’t get me wrong, I love her snappy side on the occasion but this seems different. You see, I’ve done nothing wrong and I was wondering if you can help me.” Lucifer smooths his suit and sits on the couch. The optimistic scientist can’t help but feel bad for her troublesome friend. The truth is that if he wasn’t interested in Chloe then he would’ve introduced you to him. Ella hasn’t been able to talk to Chloe about her problems with Lucifer.

“I can see what’s going on, but try not to break into my place again dude. I have company now and God knows she’s a hell of a fighter.” Ella grins about your reaction if Lucifer got to wake you up.

“Not again with his name.” Lucifer sighed and leaned back on the couch.

“Hey Ella, are we leaving now-” You stopped right in your tracks when you saw a guest on the couch. “Oh, I didn’t know you had company, do you need a moment.” You looked back at her and the stranger.

“No, this is actually one of the people you're gonna see at the precinct, he’s-” Ella was interrupted when Lucifer stood from the couch and walked towards you.

“Lucifer Morningstar, darling. Nice to meet you, (Y/n) correct?” Lucifer gently holds your hand and kisses it gently. You raise an eyebrow and pull your hand away.

“Yeah it is. Nice to meet you Mr.Morningstar.” You said politely, you couldn’t help but feel that this guy is trouble.

“Great! Since you both met, I wanna take (Y/n) out for lunch before I get to show her the precinct. Lucifer you should get going, I know there's a case wanting to be solved.” Ella went by your side and linked her arms with yours, dragging you to the front door.

“Nonsense, I’ll join, the detective can wait a little longer.” Lucifer smiles and tries to follow the both of you. Right when Ella was gonna open her car door, her phone rings. She sees that it was Chloe calling her and accepts it.

“Decker?” Ella was confused since her shift hasn’t started yet. Lucifer hear’s this and tries to listen in but Ella waves him off. “Oh wow, okay I’ll be there.” She hangs up the phone and sighs.

“Well? What happened?” Lucifer asked, waiting for Ella to explain.

“Chloe needs me at the lab, it’s an emergency so I have to be there straight away. Looks like there's no lunch, sorry (Y/n).” Ella gave you an apologetic look.

“It’s fi-” “I can take her.” Lucifer interrupts you and smiles at your best friend.

“I-I don’t know Lucifer, she just met you. It’s better if she comes with me.” Ella looked really hesitant about it. She didn’t want to leave you alone to someone you just met but she doesn’t want to keep you hungry.

“And have her starve? I believe you have better manners than that Ms.Lopez.” Lucifer playfully lectures her. Ella looks at you for a response and you just smiled reassuringly at her.

“I’ll be fine Ella, just focus on your work, I’ll bring you your lunch, okay?” You smiled at your friend and she smiles back at you.

“Okay, okay. Call me if there’s a problem or text me. Make sure you stay with Lucifer at all times and you better not lose sight of her.” Ella points at Lucifer in a scolding way and you tried not to laugh.

“I never lose sight of women, one of my special traits.” Lucifer puts both of his hands up.

“Alright mom we get it.” You put her hand down and hugged her close. Once you parted, Lucifer guided you into his car which surprised you. You were kinda expecting a Lamborghini with the way he looks rich. This car was actually really classy. Lucifer opens the door like a gentleman and you sit in the passenger's seat. When you got inside, Ella passed the car with hers and waved at you.

“Have fun! You know what I want. Love you!” Ella blows a kiss at you and leaves the parking lot. You laughed at her declaration through the parking lot. Lucifer gets in the driver's seat and starts the car. The engine turns on and the vibration of the car has traveled to your body, making you blush a little.

“Where would you like to go (Y/n)? Fast food I presume? I know one that’s close by.” Lucifer asks and you look at him with a genuine smile.

“Yeah, the sooner I get to Ella the less she’s gonna fuss over me.” You look back at the road and relax while feeling the wind through your hair.

“Perfect.” Lucifer grins and speeds up a little bit more. He couldn’t help but feel relaxed with you. It’s like some type of aurora you give him. He should be feeling excited to learn more about you and your private life. Looking for answers as to why Ella has hidden you for so long. Hell, even wanting to know your deepest desire. Yet all he wants to do now is relax. 

‘Not even the detective can make me feel that way.’

Lucifer: Season 5, Part 1 Thoughts

Part 1 of Season 5 of Lucifer came out on Netflix on August 21. And you bet your bottom dollar that I binged all 8 episodes. I stayed up until 2 am on August 22, but it was worth it. I’m not sure if the cast, crew, writers, and producers went into this season thinking it was their last (It’s not, Part 2 of Season 5 is rumored to be out in February of 2021, with the final season, Season 6, rumored to be released in early-mid 2022.) or what, but they really brought their A game for the first 8 episodes of the season.

What follows are some random thoughts I have on the season. Yes, there may be spoilers!

- I really like that the last couple of seasons have explored  the supporting cast more. Maze, Ella, Linda, Dan - they are being fleshed out a lot and I am living for it. 

- Seeing more of Linda’s backstory was great. And, I liked the way it tied into Maze’s own feelings regarding Lilith and abandonment. I am here for Linda x Maze, may that be a deep friendship or something more. I always love them together.  

- Speaking of Maze - it is getting repetitive to see her be pissed at Lucifer (who really needs to step up and see that she is her own demon with thoughts and feelings.) or being down on herself for not being able to make solid connections. Maze, you have connections: You have a best friend in Linda, friends in Chloe, Ella,  Amenadiel, Trixie, Charlie. These people are your found family! They love you, Maze. But, Maze has to learn to love herself. Stop betraying them because she’s upset. All that said, Lesley-Ann Brandt always brings her A-game. 

- I didn’t care for Lilith. I get what she was trying to do and that, in the end, she wanted mortally and love, but even she couldn’t find it. But, she abandoned her children. :( I’m thinking her ring will play a key role down the road: either to give Maze mortally/a soul, give Eve immortally (so she and Maze can be together?), make Lucifer human, save Chloe, something! That ring is coming back into play.

-Amenadiel worrying about being a good father to baby Charlie. It was really cute, as is his friendship with Dan. The scenes with Dan, Amenadiel, Lucifer, and Jed trying to calm the baby were comedy gold. I also really loved seeing Amedadiel working a case with Chloe. He’s just grown so much as a character during the last five seasons and I’m here for it. 

- Dan finding out about Lucifer was a bit of a surprise. Poor guy. He’s been lost since Charlotte’s death and all this new age stuff seems to be his way of trying to find meaning in his life. And, now he has to deal with the fact that EVERYTHING is real and his ex-wife/friend is in love with the actual Devil. And, he has this great fear that he’ll go to Hell, because of all he’s done - and knowing the Devil is real - of course that is going to mess with his mind! And, Michael - playing on fears - knew just want to do with that. I’m interested to see where Dan goes during Part 2 of the season. 

-I felt so bad for Ella. She decided that she wasn’t going to go for the “bad boys” and that she was going to look for a nice, normal man for a normal romance and what does she find? A freaking serial killer! Who was using her and planning to kill her! Like, Ella, girl, take a break from dating for a while. She either dates men with no futures, serial killers, or Dan.

- I have to give it up to Tom Ellis in his portrayal of Micheal. So twisted and cowardly and yet weirdly I get it? From what the show has told us or implied - before his fall, Lucifer was one of their parents favorites, made Michael miserable, was a favorite of some of the other siblings. I can see a twin becoming jealous and causing issues. It’s interesting that Michael straight out stated he planted the idea of rebellion in Lucifer’s head. Michael planted the idea of causing Eve to sin. Of coming to Los Angeles. I’m wondering how much of it is true and how much was Michael just speaking nonsense. And, what else has Michael planted in Lucifer (or anyone else’s) head? Did he plant Chloe in God/Dad’s head? Did he pretend to be God/Dad and tell Amenadiel to bless the Decker’s with a baby? Oh, the possibilities. 

-While I didn’t love episode 4 (it felt a bit like filler) - it was so good to see  Tricia Helfer, back on the show. I miss Mom and Charlotte. 

-Chloe finding out she was a blessing/gift from God/Dad? I am so thrilled they didn’t get too angsty with it and played it perfectly. Yes, she had every right to be confused and upset. But, thank goodness they didn’t drag that out! The writers really hit a lot of great beats with Chloe this season.

-  I have read that some viewers were annoyed that Chloe was/is worried that Lucifer doesn’t lover her back - when he has shown his love via actions - but, I get it. Lucifer is Lucifer. He self sabotages, he refuses to deal with issues, and he tends to pull away. He become invulnerable - right after it was more or less agreed by everyone that Lucifer chooses to be vulnerable around Chloe because of his love for her. She might be thinking: “Okay, will he get bored? Is this real? Will something else happen that makes him pull away?” Chloe needs to have a solid talk with Lucifer, and it’s a talk that he may not be ready to have. As a show-runner hinted: “You can’t fully be in love with someone until you fully love yourself.” And, we all know that Lucifer is still working on loving himself. 

- I was really proud of Lucifer during the first half of the season. He stayed in Hell to protect Charlie, Chloe, and the world. He only left to deal with Michael and he was smart enough to leave Amendadiel in charge. He was honest with Chloe, he tried (in his own way and to the best of his abilities) to give her space, he bonded with Dan, he got jealous (that was hilarious), he moved forward with Chloe, he tried (again in his own way and to the best of his abilities) to not freak out over losing his “mojo”, he admitted (to others and himself) that he NEEDS Chloe, he found Chloe. He showed some nice growth. He’s by no means a mature and fully realized “person” yet, but it’s clear he is trying. 

- When Dad/God showed up? I had no idea Dennis Haysbert had been cast in the role, so I was so excited. He’s a great choice. I love that he came down from the Silver City to break up a fight between some of his children. His ex walking around Earth? Demons coming to Earth? A half-angel being born? Eve coming down? Cain and Lucifer fighting? Dad/God’s not bothered by that. He’s not coming down for that. But, his children fighting? Yeah, he’s physically and completely coming down to break that stuff up. I’m excited. 

- So, 5A mentioned the Silver City and some of the other angels often. We learned that many of Lucifer and Amenadadiel ‘s siblings are praising Lucifer for going back to Hell to protect Earth. Something which Michael can’t stand. We also learn that Dad/God has locked himself away and that Michael is the only one he speaks to. You guys - I NEED to see some of the other angels or at least hear about them. Maybe even hints of what the Silver City looks like? Uriel may be dead, but Azrael and  Remiel are still in the Silver City. And, the show has mentioned a Castiel, who enjoys music. We’ve also heard about Gabriel and Raphael, who are apparently proud of Lucifer for being mature enough to return to Hell on his own. I’m actually wondering how many children Dad/God and Mom actually had together? So far we have nine angels/children. Did they have hundreds? Thousands? Just those nine? 

- Let’s talk Deckerstar. If you are a fan of Deckerstar, as I am, then you were loving 5A. There was awkwardness, angst, cuteness, sweetness. They were flirty and playful. When they FINALLY had sex? Linda and Ella weren’t the only one celebrating. And, I loved that it really seemed that BOTH Chloe and Lucifer spent 5A trying to be honest and straight forward with one another. They seem to have realized that they’ve wasted too much time and they have to try and be honest with one another, even if it is very hard. 

- Overall, I LOVED Part 1 of Season 5 and CANNOT wait for Part 2. 2021 cannot come soon enough! 

-And, I’m sorry, but Lucifer gifs are lined up in my queue for days to come.

Desires: Lucifer season 5 on Netflix

Preface: Alright my Lucis, here’s the sitch: it’s been a minute. Life got a bit chaotic I wasn’t able to start season five quite on time when it premiered on August 21st because I haven’t finished the great 2020 Lucifer rewatch. I’m nearly done however and should be able to jump into it either later today or tomorrow, which is why beforehand I want to — as I’ve traditionally done for a few seasons — create a desires list and keep a tally throughout the season to see how many are met. I am going to try to pace myself, not binge, and watch a single episode a day so don’t spoil me. Likewise I will tag my spoilers. Here we go... #21DaysofLucifer

Season 3 and 4 Roundout - Desires Fulfilled / Questions Answered

✔We’ve seen other demons “like Maze” and a bit of what havoc they can reek. Well sort of. To be quite frank, although it was cool to see them possess the recently deceased, it wasn’t as impending doom as I was expecting. They didn’t seem nearly as disciplined or intimidating as Mazikeen, even Dromos, more bored and desperate.

✔ We’ve seen a little more or the heavenly host in Remiel. Remi was cool, if a bit intense. Her character, and her affinity to Amenadiel was a nice foil to see how far his character has come in evolution. But again like Uriel was for Lucifer, she kind of became a driving force character device to push Amenadiel’s growth. So I wonder if we’ll get to see more of her or not.

✔ (s3) The backstory of Lucifer’s arrival in LA, finding LUX, and making a deal with Amenadiel.

✔ (s3) Cain finally went to hell, YES! Not that I didn’t like Marcus Pierce/Tom Welling, there were some great interactions there, but I just think he was a wishy-washy antagonist based on how he was written and I can’t wait to trade up for Michael.

✔ Maze finally had some happiness and attachment to this silly mortal coil and it slipped away! Why Eve why? I love Maze’s bonding with humans, Linda, Trixie, Chloe. But I love that after a Millennia of serving, and then watching Amenadiel and Linda be happy in a family unit, that she might actually make her own and my hopes were dashed. 

Things we got that we didn’t even know we wanted. SO GOOD:

Season 4 ep 8: Amenadiel bonding with Caleb and confronting community violence, police brutality, and systemic racism. It was a rough episode to be sure, but absolutely needed,

Chloe talking Lucifer down and out of a self-hatred spiral and his transformation into full-fledged devil and back again.

Lucifer playing Creep on repeat while missing the detective (even after insisting in a therapy session that “he’s not a teenager playing Adele on repeat) and Mr. Said Out B**** trying to rob Lucifer and gun point and ultimately get rich. What a fun twist.

The Dan and Maze Los X’s fight. They are wicked good at laying down the  hurt on the criminal element and I was wondering when they’d pair up again after dispatching Warden Perry.

The devil in a bar fight! I mean, it’s only fair since the ladies had their brawl. I love how this fight sequence was filmed in bursts of slo-mo from various angles, involved everything from fists, to tasers, knives, bottles, and the infamous pool cue, and they picked the perfect song for pacing (Jake Bugg, Lightning Bolt, could listen to it all day on repeat.)

Time for all good demons to go home / Enough, you will bow down to your king. Go home! (aka appropriate use of Devilish intimidation face)

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

★ (s3) Amenadiel taking Charlotte home

★ Dan being comforted in his grief by Amenadiel

★ Amenadiel’s wrath and the brotherly duo tag team to lay the hurt on the drug dealer that got Charlie killed. It’s been a while since we’ve seen warrior angel ready to dispatch anyone in his way. And it was glorious!

★ (s3) Lucifer’s almost driving lesson with Trixie “Morningstar”

★ (s3) Maze torturing Lucifer by making him think he’s the Angel of San Bernadino

★ (s3) Amenadiel and Lina helping to dispose of Lucifer’s wings

★  Lucifer kicking Julian, Tiernan’s son, through a glass pane window

★ The goodbye kiss between Lucifer and Chloe

 DIDN’T LIKE:

☒ (s3) Cain playing guitar and singing. What is he, a crime lord, a top cop, or an act that the improv club wouldn’t take? 

☒ Eve. I liked Eve, but we mostly got to see one side of her around Lucifer, and a kind of floundering an confused side when she was with Maze. The side that I would have liked to see more of was the maternal side that came out when she briefly talked about Abel or was interrogated by Trixie. That made her more layered.

☒ Father Kinley. That dude is just meh.

☒ Dan’s broken heart and rebounding with Ella. Don’t get me wrong, its a good arc, but I don’t see it lasting

☒ (s3) Abel and Reese. Those were two side stories I could have done without, although they had great moments of humor. I quite enjoyed Reese’s character, and although I didn’t like Abel Lucifer’s stick-figure comic illustration of Cain fighting with him over a rock was quite enjoyable.

WHAT I TRULY DESIRE: SINFUL SEASON 5, my BURNING QUESTIONS, and SPECULATIONS

Obviously, don’t spoil anything for me, but if any of my desires end up coming true in any of the first eight episodes maybe drop me a hint in the comments...

A big time jump. We need to see the lasting impact of Lucifer’s absence. I know that time in hell works differently per that episode where Lucifer saved Chloe and almost got stuck in a loop, but we still need enough time to elapse that the impact is felt on the mortal side. Or, we need to see the passage of time through a series of events without Lucifer, like a montage of character development. At least a year or so, if for no other reason then Trixie is growing up and I actually want to see her take driving lessons with Lucifer.

Last season Maze gave baby Charlie a gift, something she’d wished she’d had growing up, and previously had alluded to the language of demons, her many siblings, and teased her mother, the mother of all demons. Will we finally get to meet Maze’s mom Lilith (or however they address her)? And, in spite of Mazikeen’s found family, she still has restlessness and abandonment issues. Will her mom finally finally bring her peace, or will clashing with her resolidify Maze’s purpose on earth?

A Decker/Mazikeen team-up or girls night out 2.0 would always be appreciated. At this point its probably 4.0 if you count the bar fight and the bachelorette party.

Will we see tougher, scarier demons, or are they just warmup to the really scary depths of hell?

Speaking of hell, more hell. Tons of hell. I want to know the minutia of all the mechanics. If Lucifer’s gotta be down there in self-imposed exile, he may as well show us around. Pour us a drink.

Will Lucifer see Cain in Hell? Not that I’m dying to see more of “sad Cain” but it would be interesting to see a more dark or desperate or cunning side to him at least now that he’s actually neck deep in torment. Or, alternatively, I’m hedging my bets that he could be a good candidate to light the fire under Lucifer’s *** to get of hell back to the earthly realm. Even in hell, I’m betting Cain would have a soft spot for Chloe, and if news reached Lucifer that Michael were trying to abscond with his life and with Chloe, it would give Cain and Lucifer one last bit of “A-Hole brothers” common ground to bond over. Like “Brothers, am I right? Go kick, get Chloe back, I’ll still have enough guilt to torture me with in a few thousand years when you get back,”   

Will Lucifer fall into peril in hell of once again potentially getting distracted and stuck in a hell loop? Will his servants be satisfied with his return? Will Amenadiel bust him out.

Mr. Said Out Bitch needs a role reprise. He’s been in every season opener 2-4, we’ve gotten to know his undergarments very well.  Its high time we get to know his name and story. He’s put in the work!  

Amenadiel should be running LUX in Lucifer's absence. We got a tease of that in previous seasons (remember when he asked what would Lucifer do?) its time for that to come to fruition. Plus, any excuse to put DB Woodside in a suit, just because he wears them so well. It would also be interesting if, after that tragedy he’s experienced, Amenadiel will start taking after Luci. Maybe not the punishing, not yet, but wanting to seek out evil and corruption. It has been teased since s1 “fall as I did.” Perhaps he’ll start developing a taste for his bother’s line of work whereas he found it repugnant in the early days

Dan and Maze or Dan and Ella pair up. Both Dan and Maze are due for some happiness.

An Azrael reboot, when need more of her. She’s the angel of Death for pity’s sake. I don’t know if the original actress is still available or if they would have to recast, or if the character concept by Netflix would even be the same, but I need Azrael to be capable of sweet and unassuming and on a coin flip downright menacing.

More of Lucifer as a godparent, bless! And maybe a cool montage of “cousin” Trixie and Lucifer co-babysitting Charlie please.

Whilst on the subject of Lucifer and parenting, and without putting Trixie too much into harm’s way, I need to see what “I would do anything to protect that little urchin” looks like. Trixstar ride or die.

Father Frank, come back! I need a cameo or recurrent role pleeeeease.

Trixie in every episode. This is non-negotiable, much like chocolate cake. Beatrice is an all-star. In fact, I’ve decided that when Dad/God finally does show up, Trixie needs to be the one to get to know him / introduce him first. She’s been captain on the celestial cheer squad for four seasons, she’s earned this.

Who's going to see through Michael's facade first? I mean, I know that trailer shows Maze torturing it out of him, but as far as intuition goes, I've got a 50/50 split between Trixie and Linda, with an honorable mention to Dan.

If Michael is Lucifer's twin, does he have the same angelic compulsion skill set? Or something different? And will it work on Chloe or is she universally immune?

A “be like Mike” pop-culture reference. ******Spoilers: ******* all the trailers have revealed Michael already, so they owe us this for letting the steam out.

As far as pop-culture, how many movie and TV references will we get from Lucifer and ensemble this year? I expect A-game, from sci-fi to 80s action, on par with the previous likes of Parent Trap, Star Wars, Home Alone, Kim Possible, and Rocky.

Will Amenadiel’s necklace make a reappearance, even after he put it around Caleb’s neck in the morgue? Heavenly artifacts have a way of causing trouble in this show.

Will what finally learn what, if any, significance there is to Lucifer’s ring? Again, as all my fictional writings will attest, I really kind of want it to be a stolen little trinket from him Dad.

Plot twist: will we get to see Hell and the silver city all in one season, or is that too devilishly good to ask? It would be intriguing if Lucifer fell from Heaven for rebelling and now some threat like, for example, the mother of demons would pose a threat to the gates such that Lucifer was called upon to defend them. Not expecting anything Endgame level with a host of Angels popping up like sorcerers...but it is food for the imagination.

Plot twist: will Michael, duplicitous twin that he is, be revealed as the reason that Lucifer does not lie and can’t stand liars? Will be get a Michael back story? Is he perhaps the true rebellious son? see: my original fan conjecture here.

Forgotten Memories: Lucifer x Azrael

LA. The city of Angels. The place Lucifer Morningstar had chosen to call home.

Yes. The Devil himself was walking among the humans on Earth. Not that many humans actually believed he was actually The Devil. They usually just thought his name was some stage name he had come up with and never truly questioned it due to being enchanted by his charm.

Well that was a few years ago when he hadn't been on Earth very long. Now though, Lucifer had grown to care for a select few humans and had also revealed his true form to a couple of those select few. The first being his therapist because he needed someone to truly understand how he was feeling, and the other...

Well the other was to the human that he had fallen head over heels in love with but still hadn't grown the courage to admit his feelings. Now he never thought he would get to admit those feelings because revealing his true form to her had scared her away for sure.

Yes, she still spent time with him but he still got the feeling she was terrified of him.

Now after all the time Lucifer had lived on Earth, he had grown accustom to the feeling of disappointment, mainly whenever one of his siblings appeared on Earth. It usually meant they had news from father that would make his life even more of a living hell... pun intended.

But when he heard one of his friends and work collegue's Ella mentioning his sister's nickname when speaking about her imaginary friend, his heart sank. Azreal hadn't even come to visit him after his banishment to hell, so why was she here now?

He stood in the elevator that lead to his penthouse, his mind racing with thoughts on how to find his sister in order to find out why she was here on Earth. Why now? It had to be something to do with him? Why else?

He heard the small ding of the elevator as the doors began to open, his eyes never lifted from the ground as he took a few steps into his penthouse, the area dimly lit due to the lights around the room being connected to a dimmer switch. His mind was still focused on the new information that he hadn't really focused on his surroundings as he made a swift course for the bar.

The Huntress From Hell (Part 2)

Summary: Luci Samael Morningstar daughter of Lucifer and the angel Azrael . Marked as the heiress of hell, Luci might be in a smidge of trouble when she falls into an alternate universe. Here demons run rampant and angels aren’t so high and mighty. With monsters lurking around every corner she needs to turn tail and get the hell out of there. If only. Pairing: Supernatural x OC x Lucifer (Fox) Word Count: 511 Warnings: None.

Maze tugged the small blade from young Luci's grip and threw it into the opposite wall. A clear order to the heiress of hell. No weapons today. Obediently, as her father had taught her, Luci sat in the single chair in the otherwise empty room. Maze paced before her seat as if gathering her bearings before she began to talk.

"Today your father wants me to drill you," The demon paused her pacing. "I'll ask a question and you'll answer quickly, understood?"

"Of course Mazikeen," Luci answered obediently. There was no sentiment here, not now during their lessons. The woman nodded to the cild and began firing off questions about everything from ruling hell to evading angels.

"Steel?" The demon hissed.

"Not a problem," Just as her father would have worded it.

"Demon blades?"

"They prick," There was a small pause before she asked the next question.

"The flaming sword?"

"Destroyer of all," That was not the full answer Maze wanted though. And so Luci continued, "Lost from heaven when god destroyed it after casting Lucifer out. The flaming sword can only be wield by a light bringer-"

"A Morningstar," Maze interrupted, Luci simply nodded. The demon gave a please smile but continued to tutor the girl in all things weakness, all things strength. How to kill a demon, how to kill an angel, how to not get killed in turn.

"If you remember what your father told you. You will have nothing to fear," Mazikeen knelt by the girl. "What are you?"

"I am a flame, I will not go out."

"What have we got?" Luci asked the officer first on the scene. Someone whose name she'd never deigned to learn. Perhaps she'd have to ask Ella about it later, who was working this case with her in fact.

"The vic should be fine really," The man shrugged as he shoved his hands into his pockets. "Besides the fact that-"

"She dead," Ella herself butt in, motioning to the blonde female lying sprawled across the apartment carpet, face down.

"Roll her over," The detective ordered another officer, who followed the request and- "I was going to say, besides the fact that her eyes have been burnt out of head but yeah, that too."

"This is just like the other," Ella put in with a nonchalant smile.

With a quiet roll of her eyes, Luci looked over the scene. There were no signs of a murder but what else could have burnt out someones eyes? Well there was the normal answer when it came to Luci's family. Literally anything. It was almost like the world had it out for the Morningstar's.

After an hour of shuffling round the crime scene talking to different officers and examining different things with Ella. Luci decided that they should probably take the investigation back to the station, which they did. Two coffees later they had zilch. Nothing seemed to connect the two victims. No family or friends that knew each other, nothing save the fact they'd both visited the same abandoned industrial district.

WIP Wednesday - First Lines

In honor of WIP Wednesday, I'm posting the first lines of the 10 11 WIPs I most recently worked on, plus title (working titles, subject to change if the fics are ever finished), characters, pairings, and basic tags.

Before we're getting into the first lines, I have to warn you all, I have no idea if any of these WIPs except the first one will ever be finished and published. Also, as those of you who know me will probably expect, I didn't always stick to the rules and post only the first line.

1. Aesthetic Dissonances - Lucifer (TV), Mazikeen, Lucifer Morningstar, gen, F/M, Maze & Lucifer, Maze/Lucifer, season 3 AU, fluff with lots of feelings, third work in my Forgiveness series, currently being published a chapter at a time. And since the first four chapters are already posted, you're getting the first lines of the fifth chapter:

Lucifer took another look around for want of anything better to do. He would have brought up the reason Maze had asked him to come her in the first place, but right now any reminder of the purpose of his presence was practically guaranteed to make his demon rethink her decision and terminate his visit. He did not want that.

2. Explosive Surprise - Lucifer (TV), Mazikeen, Trixie Decker, gen, Maze & Trixie, AU (unspecific timeline), fluff and mischief, oneshot

Maze studied the plan before her critically. It was a crude drawing of Lux, with a big X on Lucifer's favorite round table.

Lucifer drew his attention away from the Detective’s backside and glanced over at the man walking beside him with a confused frown.

Lucifer 3x25 - Boo Normal - Meta Post: Deckerstar

Lucifer 3x25 was meant to be aired as the 6th or 7th episode of S4 and that alone gives us a lot of hints on how certain things will progress in S4. Most based on Chloe’s line at the end: 

“Honestly, I have seen a lot crazier things. Like, a lot. And besides, there is nothing that- that you could tell me that would change the way I feel about you."

So far many fans have talked about that she refers to Lucifer’s face and her feelings about Lucifer. Although that is correct we have to remember that with the new guest coming in S4 what Chloe has seen might be more than just Lucifer’s face at the end of S3 or even his wings at some point in S4... 

Chloe in S4 seems to have been thrust in a new supernatural world where the fact that ghosts exist, speak of a limbo between Heaven and Hell which she has only recently discovered. I’m positive that the Writers might have wanted to use Azrael as a shocking line somewhere like ghosts do not exist with Chloe questioning Ella’s sanity or even supplying later on that Ella’s RayRay was actually an Angel...

But let’s move on and analyse a bit the ONLY interaction Lucifer and Chloe have in this episode. First, we see that Lucifer favours lighter colours, a grey-blue shirt with a light brown (mustard?) three-piece. So what do the colours mean according to the internet?

Wearing a blue dress shirt, for instance, suggests a warm personality and projects a sense of dependability, commitment and trustworthiness (x)

Brown Suits - Earth tones say that you are an approachable individual with affluence (x Earthtones give the impression that the wearer is down-to-earth and sympathetic. They are great for rapport-building.(x) Earthtones portray a person who is down-to-earth and understanding. They are your best rapport-building colors. Earthtones are a good choice for anyone meeting with an unhappy client or investor, reviewing an employee, meeting with a small business owner or attending a staff meeting. Attorneys can wear earth-tones when visiting a client who just lost a case, for depositions or for meetings with associates. Earthtones are a good choice for Builders/ Developers when meeting an architect for lunch (x).

Accordingly, we can assume that Lucifer tries to mend matters on some things that happened in the first episodes or even as a character he has progressed even more with Chloe finally knowing he is actually the Devil. Still as you know they are definitely not in a romantic relationship so whoever thought that she would finally know and both run into the sunset together... Well, you will need some more liquor or chocolate for S4. 

Hold on and what about the yellow t-shirt? It clashes beautifully but most wardrobe experts will tell you that it signifies the sunlight and all that so in a very wild speculation headcanon thing I would say that perhaps out Lightbringer is back or at least there is someone who knows him as the Lightbringer in S4... 

Another thing is that by the 6th or 7th episode it seems like Dan and Lucifer are back into a difficult yet amicable ground. As you remember Dan blames Lucifer in S4 for Charlotte’s death and 3x25 shows us that in time of great need Dan went to Lucifer and Lucifer was playful enough to embarrass him in the precinct once again.

But what happens between Lucifer and Chloe in that episode? First, let’s look at their first meeting. 

Lucifer puffs his chest and I do believe that the writers did brief a bit Ellis and Germanon S4  in order to not be totally out of character for this episode. So it looks like Lucifer is somewhat scared of Chloe or at least he is not that comfortable around her like he tries to prove himself again

Still, we do have the eye communication between the two which speaks volumes as Lucifer makes it at the crime scene but as you have already seen Chloe leaves alone without acknowledging Lucifer afterwards and Lucifer just nicks the prescription book. 

We do see that Lucifer and Chloe still depend on each other and still can communicate effortlessly but things are certainly not easy between them...  But at least Chloe is not afraid of him nor does she hesitate to give the Mum look at Satan... Like no today Satan... (I need that line now!)

And yet Lucifer is apprehensive of Chloe and for whatever reason, I don't really know why. I mean it’s like he wants in into something again or he tries with his actions, suit and looks - Lucifer looks at her three times when they get over the dead body for Ella’s presentation - to make her open up to him again. 

Again... Chloe, not the body or Ella. Chloe.

Therefore what does 3x25 tells us about Deckerstar? That although Lucifer and Chloe will be back on being friends Lucifer will feel extremely insecure but it also tells us that more supernatural S* hit will hit the fan in S4...

Reading this again in January 2019 as the meta was written when 3x25 was aired, I can only say damn I was good on speculating...

Al entrar en el baño mixto, se encontraron a toda la familia. Anna, Gabriella, Magno... Todos. Incluso Elementia, Jack y Marcos. Ezequiel y Lucifer se quedaron sorprendidos en la puerta al verles. Azrael saltó dentro del baño.

- ¿Qué está pasando aquí? - preguntaron Ezequiel y Lucifer al unísono.

- ¿No es el cumpleaños de Azrael? - preguntó Anna.

- Si, pero... - le contestó Ezequiel -. ¿Habéis venido por eso? ¿Y Elementia también?

- He conseguido dejar un cuerpo astral con mi magia ocupando mi lugar por un tiempo - explicó Elementia -. Además, no todo el mundo resucita el día de su cumpleaños.

- Jack, Marcos, no hacía falta que vinierais vosotros también.

- Queríamos ver a Azrael de joven - explicó Marcos.

- ¿De quién ha sido la idea?

- De vuestra nieta - contestaron todos. Morgana rió.

- Llevábamos mucho tiempo sin vernos - explicó Morgana -. Y quería saber cómo les iba a Raios y Shadow con los dragones.

- Nos va bien - le contestó Raios.

- ¿Aún no hay resultados? - preguntó Anna.

- Aún no, pero... - le contestó Shadow, mirando a Raios. Raios le sonrió.

- ¿¡Usaste la magia de God Slayer para crear vida!? - le gritó Elementia.

- Fue temporalmente... - le contestó Raios, avergonzado.

- ¿Funcionó? ¿Cómo era?

- Sí, y era un híbrido exacto de humano y Exceed. Era la cosa más adorable que hayas visto en tu vida. Lo que no sabemos es cuánto tiempo nos va a costar poder tenerlo.

- Ahora que sé que puedo tenerlo, cómo si quiere tardar mil años en nacer - comentó Shadow.

- Eres tú el que tiene que traerlo a este mundo.

- Y tú el que tiene complejo de padre.

- Tú también.

- Pero de madre.

Ambos sonrieron. El resto se les quedó mirando. Antartica tiró al agua a Ezequiel y Lucifer, al mismo tiempo que salía.

- ¿No te encuentras bien? - le preguntó Elementia.

- Es el calor del baño - le contestó Antartica -. Soy la dragona del agua helada.

- Lo sé. Ve a refrescarte un poco. Te irá bien. Tu padre también tenía que hacerlo.

- Gracias reina.

Antartica salió del baño para refrescarse un poco.

- ¿Puedo ir con ella? - preguntaron Silver y Dust al mismo tiempo.

- Sólo uno - les contestó Elementia.

Los dos dragones lo decidieron jugando al piedra-papel-tijeras. Silver fue el fue salió.

- Te ganan... - se mofó Smoke.

- No me ganan - se quejó Dust.

- Ya... Eso dicen todos...

- Claro que no.

- Conocemos tus sentimientos y los de Silver hacia Antartica - le dijo Raios -. Es imposible que no estés molesto por esto.

- Le he dejado ganar. El corazón de Antartica pertenece a Silver desde hace mucho, pero él aún no lo sabe.

- ¿De verdad?

- Antartica me lo dijo. Y no debería haber dicho nada. Me pidió que fuera un secreto entre nosotros dos.

- Existe un problema con ello - dijo Elementia de repente, algo preocupada -. Las madres de ambos son gemelas.

- ¿Y cuál es el problema, reina?

- Puede que estén relacionados por sangre, pero... Iceberg no tenía ningún gemelo. Las relaciones de sangre se dan entre gemelos y sus descendientes. Mothergrea y yo lo decidimos así por si ocurría alguna desgracia. Y aún no conocemos todas las variantes de esa decisión.

- Entonces, ¿Iceberg y Antartica no están relacionados por sangre? - preguntó Raios.

- Lo están. Lo comprobé. Es porque Oceania tiene una gemela. Pero Antartica es la primera descendiente de un dragón con gemelo y un dragón sin gemelo.

- ¿Hay cosas que tú no sabes? - preguntó Gold.

- No lo sé todo. Soy una dragona, no un dios. Aunque sea vieja, no soy mucho más vieja que Ezequiel o Lucifer.

- ¿Y cuánto es eso? - preguntó Anna.

- Más de 3000 años. Ni siquiera recordamos cuantos años tenemos exactamente.

- Y después era yo la que se casaba con un viejo, ¿Verdad, Ezequiel?

- No sé de qué me hablas - dijo Ezequiel, intentando desviar el tema.

- Te han pillado, papá - se mofó Azrael.

- Seríamos mucho más viejos si aún fuéramos Arcángel supremo - intervino Lucifer.

- ¡Lucy! - le gritó Ezequiel.

- Sabes que es verdad.

- Reina Elementia, me gustaría preguntarte algo - dijo Raios.

- ¿El qué? - preguntó Elementia.

- ¿Qué pasó exactamente para que Raziel creyera que no confiabas en él?

- Ah, eso... Es por algo que pasó en la guerra. Fui malherida e incapaz de moverme por un tiempo. Raziel siempre consideró que era culpa suya. Fui la causante del inicio de su locura asesina. Él intentaba protegerme y yo... No fui capaz de protegerme sola...

Elementia se puso a llorar. Lucifer fue directo a abrazarla.

- No es culpa tuya, es mía - dijo Lucifer -. Si hubiera sido más valiente ese día y les hubiera explicado la verdad, Raziel me hubiera tenido como padre y no tendría ciertos traumas.

Lucifer también se puso a llorar. Raios les abrazó a ambos.

- No es culpa de nadie - dijo Raios -. Raziel eligió esto. Él eligió convertirse en Acnologia, el dragón del Apocalipsis. Él eligió soportar la carga de las heridas de su maestra. Él eligió llevar todos los muertos a su espalda. Él eligió odiar a su padre en lugar de buscarle para que le diera una explicación. En el fondo, él lo está pasando mucho peor que cualquiera de nosotros. Él sigue llevando toda la carga de todas las cosas malas que le han pasado en esta vida. Y nosotros no podemos hacer nada para aligerarla, porque él eligió llevarla toda solo.

- No lo entendéis - dijo Elementia, soltándoles a ambos y alejándose -. Mirad la cicatriz.

Elementia salió del agua, para que todos pudieran verla. La cicatriz era gigantesca. Iba de su cuello a su cintura, cubriendo una buena parte de su torso. Después se dio la vuelta, mostrándoles la cicatriz de la espalda. Era más pequeña, pero cubría una extensión similar.

- Al ser la dragona que domina todos los elementos, pude restaurar mi cuerpo. Pero, la cicatriz se quedó allí como si se tratara de una marca de nacimiento. Aún puedo ver a Raziel, en su forma dragón, protegiéndome cuando cierro los ojos.

- Raziel-nii te mantuvo con vida, ¿Verdad? - dedujo Azrael.

- Lo recuerdas bien. Las heridas que recibimos en nuestra forma dragón tienen el mismo tamaño proporcional en forma humana. Al revés funciona igual.

- ¿Cómo no iba a acordarme? Siempre se lo repetías. Especialmente cuando volvía herido a casa. Además, siempre fuiste como una segunda madre para nosotros.

- Es extraño verte tan joven, Azrael.

- Ventajas de ser arcángel.

- ¿Este chico considera a todo el mundo como sus padres? - preguntó Lucifer.

- Elementia apareció antes de que él se casara para entrenar a Raziel como su Slayer - explicó Ezequiel -. Siempre estaba por allí, y algunas veces le tocó hacer de madre con Weisslogia. Sting y Raziel siempre fueron un poco incontrolables.

- ¿Y yo qué?

- Te lo he dicho antes. Eres el padre de su más querido hermano. Azrael quería mucho más a Raziel que a Sting.

- ¿Por qué?

- Raziel cuidaba mucho de Azrael, y Sting estaba muchas veces fuera de casa.

- ¿Y tú?

- Trabajaba.

- ¿De qué?

- No te lo diré.

- De sastre... - dijo Azrael, riéndose malvadamente.

- Esa no me la esperaba... - dijo Lucifer empezando a reír.

- No tiene nada de malo.

- Claro que no - se mofó Azrael -. Sólo sabías las medidas de todas las mujeres del pueblo.

- Azrael...

- No me digas que no, porque sabes que es verdad.

- También me sé las de tu mujer.

- Papá...

- ¿Qué? Fue ella la que me pidió que le hiciera el vestido de bodas.

- Espera... ¿Lo hiciste tú?

- Me trajo el que sus padres querían que se pusiera y dijo que lo odiaba. Y que me lo daba como pago por uno nuevo.

- ¿Y qué pasó con ese?

- Anna.

- Espera... - intervino Anna -. ¿El vestido de mi boda era el que tanto odiaba su mujer?

- Y a ti te encantó.

- Siempre me miraba ese vestido, desde que era pequeña. Nunca imaginé que fuera el de su mujer.

- Mi mujer tenía unos gustos muy peculiares - explicó Azrael -. Y no le gustaba nada que sus padres se metieran.

- Pero gracias a eso obtuve el vestido más hermoso del mundo.

- ¿No tuviste que arreglarlo?

- Creo que no, ¿Por qué?

- Porque vosotras dos teníais cuerpos muy diferentes.

- Ah, sobre eso - intervino Ezequiel -. El vestido que le compraron sus padres le iba grande a tu mujer.

- ¿Cómo podía irle grande? - preguntó Lucifer -. ¿No era hecho a medida?

- Con las medidas de su hermana, que eran más parecidas a las de Anna.

- Eso lo explica todo.

- Por cierto, ¿Dónde está ese vestido?

- No se movió del reino de las hadas - le contestó Gabriella.

- ¿Puedo probármelo? - preguntó Morgana.

- Sólo si te pruebas también el mío.

- Hecho.

- Yo eso quiero verlo - dijo Lucifer de repente.

- Yo también - se añadió Ezequiel.

- Raios, Shadow, ¿Vosotros también? - preguntó Morgana.

- No, queremos descansar - le contestó Raios -. Además, los niños van a irse pronto de nuestro lado.

- ¿De verdad?

- Lo hemos estado hablando, y ha llegado el momento. Ellos deben vivir sus vidas, y nosotros la nuestra.

- ¿Y qué vais a hacer cuando os separéis? - les preguntó Elementia.

- Nosotros vamos a seguir viajando por el mundo.

- Puede que... Vaya a ver a papá en el pueblo del Sol - comentó Magma -. Después, no lo sé.

- Silver y yo hemos acordado ir con Antartica - explicó Dust -. Básicamente como sus guardianes. Si ocurre algo entre ellos dos, yo les cuidaré.

- Smoke y yo aún no sabemos lo que haremos - dijo Gold -, pero vamos a ir por allí juntos.

- Nos gastaremos todo el oro posible... - añadió Smoke.

- Pero antes lo repartiremos entre nuestros hermanos. Y nuestros padres, por supuesto.

- ¿Y de dónde ha salido ese oro? - preguntó Magno.

- No preguntes - le contestó Shadow.

- ¿Por qué?

- Lo caga - adivinó Morgana. Shadow se encogió de hombros y Raios sonrió, haciéndoles saber a todos que Morgana había acertado. La única persona que reaccionó fue Magno, poniendo cara de asco. Al resto les importó poco. Sabían perfectamente que todos los dragones tenían algo relacionado con su magia.

- ¿¡Por qué no os importa!? - les preguntó Magno, alterado.

- Es normal en dragones - le contestó Elementia -. Todos tenemos algo extraño relacionado con nuestra magia.

- ¿¡Y todos lo sabíais!?

- Uno se da cuenta de todo solo observando, Magno - le contestó Anna.

- Mamá, por favor...

- Empiezas a ser mayorcito. No puedo explicártelo todo.

- ¿Seguro que es hijo de Sting? - dudó Azrael.

- Desgraciadamente, sí. Sólo se parece a él en el físico. Y no me apetece que tenga el carácter de mi lado de la familia.

- Hablando de tu lado de la familia - interrumpió Lucifer -. ¿No ibas a  montar una fiesta cuando muriera tu padre?

- ¿Ha muerto?

- Hace como veinte años. Puede que más.

- ¿Y por qué no me has avisado?

- No sabía dónde encontrarte.

- ¿Dónde hay alcohol? Hay que celebrar esto a lo grande.

Anna salió del agua y fue a hablar con la propietaria. Esa noche tuvieron alcohol. Mucho alcohol.

Lucifer Season 2 Round-out

Last April, a list began that would soon pervade into every moment of my life: “Lucifer Season 2 and Beyond - Wants and Desires”. It went through various iterations…

Before I go into my “Season 3” post (and questions!) I wanted to make a quick capsule of my top fulfilled desires of season 2. Please let me know what yours were, or if you have questions and desires yet to be addressed.

Desires Fulfilled / Questions Answered

✔ Does Lucifer have any other brothers/siblings we should know of? While I was disappointed that Uriel had such a brief appearance, it was still very cool and developed the arc of the season a TON! Also, there’s that mention of… ✔ Lucifer should have a sister…(2x05) AZRAEL! The Angel of Death is a she, and I have many questions and speculations about her role, power, manifestation, etc ✔ Who is Lucifer’s mother? Angel, Demon, something else? You know, for a majority of the season I didn’t know whether I liked or hated the Divine Goddess mum as Charlotte Richards. She was a fun character, but very on the fence as to what she wanted and how badly at any given moment. Mostly what bothered me is her lack of seriousness, gravitas. I wanted to see the “Goddess” side of her all season. She was jailed for centuries not just for being powerful, but also vengeful, chaotic, bordering on malicious. And then I got all that in the very last episode, 2x18 “God, Bad, Crispy” and I loved it. All that resentment, brokenness, and desperation, coupled with destructive force so that I could take her seriously. And no sooner did I love her as a balanced character of humor and strength, she (as we know her) was gone! Wot?! ✔ We’ve seen Lucifer’s lifestyle, how is Amenadiel liking his time on earth? Not at all - his poor wings! But I’m really quite glad he’s found solace in, of all places, the improv club. ✔ Who are Chloe’s friends outside the force, will we meet some? Thank Dad for Maze, Linda, and Ella, and girls night #tribe. ✔ Lucifer, Trixie, and Maze on a school’s day out field trip. Trixie and Maze trick-or-treating was 100% wonderful, and as a brilliant bookend so was Lucifer taking Trix to school and them having their own little “deceiving your parents” club. ✔ Girls’ night - Mazikeen, Chloe, Linda. And not only that but a bar fight, which is also what I wanted to see more of (the females kicking butt, which I got from all the core ensemble save Trixie, who instead kicked butt with her words, as Maze said). It’s like the writers have Lucifer powers of desire deduction… ✔ More delving into the themes of what it means to be vulnerable, when it’s good and not, and recovering from betrayal from all the characters’ perspectives. Well, divorce and single parenting are pretty dang vulnerable for Chloe I’d say….and you know drudging up the past and confronting her dad’s murder. And Dan and Lucifer at the comedy club, the openness there gave me new hope for their continued BroTP. Lucifer with Azrael’s blade while Amenadiel watched as his little bro was in pain DESTROYED ME. And even Trixie was vulnerable at that Starford private school, which was super insightful for Trixstar. And Maze and Lucifer throwing down and going to group therapy with Linda. The writers really knocked vulnerability, recovery, and moving forward out of the park. ✔ Is Mazikeen going to make more progress in the friends’ department? First word: Roomies. Second word: wifey. I really, deeply enjoyed Maze bonding with Chloe and Linda (ride or die) this season, and her growing attachment to humans. ✔ Now that Lucifer doesn’t have his Pentecostal coin to play with, does he get a new toy? I never thought seeing Lucifer with a cell phone would be that satisfying.  ✔ We see Lucifer always wearing a ring and Amenadiel always wearing a necklace. Will they come into play? Of course! Although, please props department up your game. I hated that Sumerian text. It looked like a three ring binder spray painted bronze. ✔ What stunts/ fight choreography are you guys thinking about for s2? Maze with a pool cue, a good amount of headbutting, slo-mo riots in a psychiatric ward, jumping off of a pier, some great driving sequences, a sniper/hostage situation, violence with a yoga mat, throw-down in a church (Father Frank’s church?), broken pianos. I can’t wait for more! ✔ Tom Ellis at the piano.“All Along the Watchtower” pleases me to no end. ✔ Scenery changes? I love the addition on the performance club and Chloe’s new apartment.  ✔ New potentially recurring characters? Heavens bless Ella in all her awkward moment, ice-breaking quirkiness.  ✔ Can Chloe effect other celestials adversely, or just Lucifer? Apparently yes she can. She disrupted Uriel’s pattern of destruction (2x05) I think, I could be wrong, but it came across that way… ✔ Seeing Lucifer with wings. YES! Bring on the eleventh hour cliffhanger. ✔  Lucifer’s fall? Maybe we saw a glimpse of it…depending on the context of the 2x18 cliffhanger

Things we got that we didn’t even know we wanted. SO GOOD:

Dan and Chloe are getting a divorce and in so doing becoming an even better team on the force and in life. They can razz each other more at work and be treated as equals, and she can joke with Dan “if you married Charlotte, that would make you Lucifer’s stepdad.”

“Cosmos are yummy” and “I like [the shape of] your head” one liners. You deserve all the praise Amenadude.

Lucifer being mortally embarrassed seeing his mom naked (how does it feel to be on the receiving side of nude awkwardness buddy), her interrupting his foreplay, and him having to drag her off his club stage because of her dancing. He’s essentially a teenager with her around.

Lucifer as an action movie fan. Not surprising, since we already know he loves cheesy sci-fi from season 1 interaction with Chloe’s mom. But still another awesome nerdy layer.

Lucifer in a psych ward. And of course, the Linda/Lucifer break out. Though it probably would’ve been equally fascinating as a break in.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (TOP 10):

The stunt driving in the corvette and Chloe’s car, and the surrounding circumstances of both incidents. I love the fulfillment of “I’ll never let you drive” comes full circle when Lucifer speeds on to try and save Chloe’s life, and when Chloe has to ride shotgun on Lucifer’s terms, she loses all composure. 

Most of 2x13 “A Good Day to Die” but especially the X-Ambassadors “Unsteady“ montage where every character shines!

“God Johnson” - the whole episode from start to finish, because it revealed so much honesty, meta, and motivation about the Lucifer, Linda, and Mum. If I had to pick a favorite part, it would have to be when Lucifer is wheeling Linda down the corridor and she meets ‘God’ or the celestial parent trap. Linda and Lucifer get to act like fans in their own show, Dr. Martin reveals Lucifer’s hidden desire to see his family back together, and Mum realizes she loves her ex and much as she hates him.

The men #tribe and the women #tribe we clearly establish in the first half of the season through cocktails, bar fights, saunas, improv clubs, etc. It wasn’t obnoxious or super exclusive, it developed naturally and really served the characters.

All of Trixie’s screen time was awesome, and the fact she seems to get more of it. Particularly “you don’t have to speak in code, I can handle adult stuff (she’s very perceptive)” and “wusses don’t get lollies” and her reaction to Lucifer stealing her sandwich.

Lucifer’s final scene with Linda in the hospital, where she has the title line that once again gives Lucifer page turning insight, and he puts her glasses back on and I melt!

Amenadiel being able to slow time for the first time since his powers waned, and using it to save Linda’s life. It made me teary, and brought me back to 2x13 when he helped Lucifer by standing his ground for Chloe. (MVP on the Unsteady montage)

Ella standing up to Charlotte. Her saying “you hurt Dan, I’ll break your legs” at first came off funny, like ‘your East Coast is showing’ but with each episode I increasingly wonder if, instead of just being mellow and accepting and lighthearted, she knows more than she let’s on and there’s another side of her that we’ve not seen.

The made up dinner scene / “you look beautiful” / the trajectory of Deckerstar. I admit there was a faith wobble. I thought that the show was revving up Lucifer and Chloe, perhaps not ‘too fast,’ but too suddenly. A lot was development happened over very few episodes in season 2 (by contrast to the entire season one slow burn) that I was dazed. What the hell was going on? Then they slammed on the brakes and reversed it when Luci skipped town and I thought are you trying to give me whiplash. But now those trials and that zig zag line is actually effective in making their relationship more complex and less doe-eyed, leading up to the capstone line by Chloe about moving forward. It gives the series a Chuck-like nostalgia in that this epiphany frees up a lot of constraint: it doesn’t matter the twists, turns, sputters, or screaming wheelies of the ship, in fact all the better, so long as their eyes are open and the aim is forward.

DIDN’T LIKE (BOTTOM 10):

☒ The “Wobble” episode concept.(2x03 Sin-Eater) If I had to rate it’s strength as a compelling episode, it’s probably second to the bottom.

☒ Poor Uri, we did not know him well, but I wanted to! (2x05)

☒ The “Candy Morningstar“ episode (2x14). I like the resolution, however I thought overall it was a weak return from hiatus. It did not do a very good job of filling in gaps of Lucifer’s time in Vegas - but maybe that’s something flashbacks in season 3 will revisit.

☒ Ella, her brother Ricardo, (2x13) and their Brooklyn roots. At first when I heard Ella came from a big family of brothers - 5? if I’m not making that up - I thought “what rich grounds for parallels” Lucifer comes from a big angelic family and Ella and Luci hit it off quite well where quirkiness goes she practically like a sister, she even got him to go to church, I can’t wait to see where this goes. But then we met one of her siblings, and it felt somewhere between a front and a one-off plot point to serve the events unfolding in the case. Generally, I feel even though I really like her character, she was not used to full potential in the second act of season after 2x8. Part of the hazard of adding two characters in one season. However, I have hope from 2x17 when Ella goes off to accept a call from her brother that she’s been ‘waiting for all day,’ but it’s never revealed why and the call takes place off screen that we’re going to revisit Ella’s family and backstory in a more detailed, impactful way come s3.

☒ The Season Finale 2x18. Before you kill me - allow me to clarify. I LOVED THIS EPISODE, however it was so packed I wish that I could surgically take out some preceding season fluff and elaborate these critical details over 2-3 episodes so that they are more than nuggets. Especially because of three things: 1) The growing complexity of Amenadiel’s relationship with Dan and Mum!Charlotte. Face it: Amenadiel had an extended identity crisis this season. It was planned, and overdue, so it’s fine. But only in these last episodes did his friendship with Dan and anchor to humanity flourish, as though playing catch up to Maze, as well as his more complex, less idolizing perspective of his parents. I WANTED MORE 2) Mum!Charlotte’s relationship with Dan “you were my favorite human.” Writers - How can you drop a line like that and NOT go after it? Are you evil? Mum’s been around for millennia and in all that time humanity has been at best a perplexing annoyance, at worse a target for ire. And in the span of one or two months on Earth, the divine goddess has developed a favorite human attachment not just to manipulate as was her intention, but beyond her reasoning legit. That’s huge. At first it was so weird, and now that I WANT MORE you cut me off! 3) Mum!Charlotte was finally beginning to stand on her own as a character, only to be slightly Sparta’d into the void. Just a few episodes ago, her only significant interactions were he sons and Maze. Now she’s branched out to everyone with the exception of Trixie. (WHY ON EARTH DID WE MISS THAT OPPORTUNITY). Then just two episodes ago, she said “when I kissed [my husband] I knew it wasn’t him, and yet I wanted it to be” - BAM - and then when she discovered Lucifer’s real plan to parent trap her in heaven, and that he was too worried about the repercussions to humanity, she offered to gate crash heaven alone and spare her son - POW. And to top it off, she recognized her own latent identity crisis and accepted an alternative to go into uncharted territory, make a new life for herself without her ex and her children, to examine who she is as her own independent Goddess in a life and a universe of her own. To summarize: metric ton of progress for Mum in three episodes tops, mostly in the last one, and now she is gone to do the most interesting part of her journey off camera. AHHH!

☒ The flaming sword. It got so much build up for so little actual use, apart from opening the void. Plus side: I thought the void concept / how the sword was used in conjunction with the theme of moving forward was EXTREMELY good, but at the same time my inner child wanted more swordplay with at least the three main celestials: Lucifer, Amenadiel, and Mum. You get a sword, you get a sword, you get a sword!

☒ Excessive use of Devil Eyes. I’ll have to count and compare to see how this actually tallies up, but particularly in “God Johnson” and maybe 1-2 other times I don’t recall, I thought it was overkill. I get why Lucifer’s glow-eyes are a handy physicality feature to the story, but overall I think some cues were off for maximum impact. S1 Lucifer used his eyes and true form in 3 main contexts: 1) when it suited him to intimidate or frighten 2) when it suited him for for amusement 3) when he got really overwhelmed by his emotions - possibly because it takes concentration to maintain his image and extreme emotion can blink his focus. “God Johnson” by contrast seemed more like ‘we’re telegraphing the anger.’ Of course Luci is angry, hurt, resentful, and like a kid wants the last word with Dad. However, when you factor in his smarts/cunning, and how long he’s been planning his Dad conversation, it would follow that Lucifer is laser-focused, determined, and knows that Devil Eyes don’t hold any weight with Father. Therefore, I think there are more varied, smarter, scarier ways to show Lucifer’s anger that were underutilized this season, is voice and body language especially. Plus side: I truly enjoyed Lucifer’s form in 2x13 in hell, and 2x06 for his reveal to Linda. The lighting, 5/5 Morningstars. 

☒ The pacing and balance of humor, smart storytelling, and the dramatic elements of the show felt off, probably also on account of two hiatuses. Reflecting over the whole season I’m not as annoyed as I was week-to-week. There were parts of the season where I waited eagerly for Monday only to find the comedy didn’t hit when I thought is this a comedic take on a police procedural or a parody of a comedy of a police procedural. Other times we got all the dramatic in one go and I thought Dang, where was this development when I needed it. But then I saw 2x18 and one scene made it better/sensical: Dan coaching Amenadiel at the improv club. In a strange, probably coincidental way, when Dan says “Amenadiel, that’s a little dark buddy” I felt like the writers were breaking the forth wall and saying “yes, I know, we take you on these weird tonal-emotional roller-coasters from pantomime slapstick to death and crippling guilt. We can and will make fun of ourselves now.” And I felt a burden lift as if replying “thank you for understanding that the struggle is real.”

☒  Celestial telephone tag cliffhangers. I love both of them: clever, full circle, smartly written. At the same time, I love to hate them. Twice is good. If showrunners go for a third time, I’ll take my cue from Maze and headbutt someone.

☒ I like the idea of expanding the universe by playing with the concept of the void. I think that it takes a great note from the comics. However, I’m worried it’ll be an idea that doesn’t go anywhere. As the show stands, Lucifer is so grounded in our physical world that adding a couple characters to the cast is tricky. This kind of world building? By comparison, this is God-level tricky, which is both exciting and terrifying.
