Hejka, kochani! Witam Was w drugim dniu mojego pamiętnika.

Dzisiaj miałam wigilię klasową i przyniosłam zimne pierogi ruskie, bo myślałam, że będzie można je podgrzać... Okazało się, że nie, więc wszyscy wrzucali je do gorącego barszczu. Potem wypiłam lemoniadę od kolegi Emila, która była tak kwaśna, że aż mi się cofnęło – ale to nieważne!

Po wigilii mieliśmy apel. Był pan, który pięknie grał na wiolonczeli. Ja śpiewałam razem z nim, choć miałam występować solo, ale pani uznała, że mój głos się nie nadaje. Trochę się zdenerwowałam, no ale cóż.

Po szkole poszłam do domu z Nikolą i Martyną. Potem miałam spotkanie z dyrektorem dla harcerzy, zjadłam tam pyszne ciasto (i nakruszyłam po całej stołówce). Później znów były łyżwy – siedziałyśmy tam chyba 2 godziny, ale niestety niczego nowego się nie nauczyłam.

Co więcej, kiedy mój tata przyszedł zobaczyć, jak jeżdżę, zmienili kierunek jazdy i zaliczyłam kilka upadków. Było mi strasznie wstyd, że tak się wywracałam, ale trudno – czasem są gorsze dni! Jeszcze Nikola zderzyła się z jakimś dużym chłopakiem, więc to była komedia.

Po powrocie do domu robiłyśmy paznokcie. Nikoli wyszły całkiem ładne, ale później je zeskrobała zębami, bo uznała, że same odpadły. Totalny hit!

Potem wzięłyśmy się za pierniczki. Robiłyśmy je ponad 3 godziny. Pierwsza partia się spaliła, a reszta wyszła bardzo twarda, bo – jak się okazało – robiłyśmy ciasto na piernik, a nie na pierniczki. Ale trudno, smakowały nieźle!

W trakcie pieczenia dołączyłam do jakiegoś live’a, zaczęłam tańczyć i dostałam dwa gifty. Było super, dopóki mama nie usłyszała, że rozmawiam z obcymi. Kazała mi to wyłączyć i prawie zabrała tablet. Potem się pokłóciłyśmy, ale jakoś się dogadałyśmy.

Na koniec wróciłyśmy do pokoju i teraz sobie siedzimy. Nikola u mnie nocuje, więc życzcie nam miłej nocki!

Morał na dziś: Nie zawsze wszystko wychodzi idealnie, ale ważne, żeby się nie poddawać – nawet po upadkach na lodowisku i spalonych pierniczkach!

Coconut Oil Conundrum

~Story Time~

My best friend and I just attempted to make chocolate chip cookies from a mix. They taste and look spectacula. but we ran into a small deterrent in the middle of the process.

Coconut oil. My best friend and I are the kind of people to lick our fingers and eat raw cookie dough. We had sticky dough so we decided it would be smart to put oil on our hands, coconut oil is what we use for sweet foods.

Whilst licking our fingers on our way to the sink to wash our hands, we finally experienced the coconut oil issue. After licking our fingers, we stopped walking immediatemy, stopped talking mid-sentence, and looked at eachother with so much regret in our eyes.

We started laughing at our pain and fell to the floor. It felt like the betrayal by Vanilla Extract all over again. Smells delicious, but tastes like you're being choked by sadness and regret.

Had my first real baking fail recently: tried to substitute some apple jelly for cranberry preserves in a cookie recipe. That and a few other substitutions yielded a very sticky and soft dough. I should have known better. I should have added more flour until it seemed right for cookies, but I didn’t... When they came out of the oven, it was too late. Instead of an apple-cinnamon-oatmeal cookie, I got something more like an oatmeal jerky : (

Too early to be thinking about Easter?? Is it a fail if everyone devours the dessert??? I bought the cutest silicone egg shaped pan for some Easter egg cakespiration - and it came out plain ovals. I cannot for the life of me sort out how this happened. So even though I was moaning and groaning that it didn’t look like I wanted it to - my kids were snatching these cakelette sandwiches and fighting over who got a bigger one! At least they tasted good??
