A video so you can get the idea of how I made those marzipan chocolate pine cones! The chocolate part is just a batch of regular brownies - I just reduced the sugar a bit and added some almond meal. Then you just crumble it up shape it to make your pinecone base to stick the chocolate cereal into! You don’t have to put marzipan in the middle, but I love it 🥰
Need:
- A pen
- Black thread
- A small picture of who you're binding (no filters)
Write on the back of the picture their full name and birth date then what you're binding them from
Speak it out loud, to the picture, what you're binding them from
Fold the picture in half and roll it up away from you, picture on the inside you if you miss a spot no one will know who you've bound
Wrap the black thread around it covering every inch of it, saying their name, birthday, and what you're binding them from. Be angry and frustrated. Enter a trance. Make it as tight as possible.
Tie it off and hide it somewhere safe. The binding will start to loosen after 4 to 6 months and can be added to once more to secure it again.
Check out the video of her demonstrating how to perform the spell here:
As we gently emerge from the transformation of winter, it is time to think about the seeds we are sowing this imbolc. I've spent the day battling back the garden so I can plant what we want out there and battling the boring adult work behind running our Forest School for Grown-Ups we only need 1 more sign up to go ahead on the 11th. That last job really took it out of me so I'm balancing it out with some meditating and Divination for myself. For more in Imbolc, its traditions and rituals to support your practice. Last night I watched a video about visualization by Hearth Witch on YouTube. It was interesting because it was the first video on the subject I have seen (I have watched others not related to witchcraft) that was actually instructional. I think she mentioned the third eye once but she did not just leave it on that. Other videos I have watched were much more vague and, frankly, patently unhelpful.
But this video by Hearth Witch was really good actually. I learned that I have been using visualization since I was a kid, and I am really good at it. See, visualization is the ability to perceive pictures or scenes on the inner screen of your mind. It's a skill used in mindfulness, and as she described it there was some connection I could not place in my mind. This morning when I went to work I knew what the connection was. I work in an elementary school, and I went into a 2nd grade classroom this morning. The teacher was about to read a story to the kids and she showed them the visual I posted below. I have been using visualization for so long because I use it when I read books!
So, I can visualize really well. I have even experienced what Hearth Witch described as the ball of energy in the tummy. Mine is silver most of the time. But I have never been able to consciously manipulate it. However I have also never really tried in a concerted fashion. I am skeptical of the whole energy thing, or maybe not so much that life forms have energy, rather that I can sense and manipulate it. But who knows, I am curious, open minded, and willing to take time trying to get it to work.
I've been thinking about my personal rituals and making little changes. I love how Spring inspires us all to embrace new beginnings!
In my Hearth Witchcraft post, I talked about how Hearth Witches see magic in the everyday things we do at home. Our routines honor ourselves, our loved ones, our ancestors, and our gods.
I love to explore and connect with my ancestry through Kitchen Witchcraft, which is closely related to Hearth Witchcraft. I research social customs, traditional recipes, and popular beverages to connect with the cultures I come from.
Most people in the U.S. are familiar with the concept of tea time in the United Kingdom. Every day around the same time, millions of people sit down with tea, biscuits, and/or sandwiches. But a ritual afternoon snack exists across the world under many names! In Germany, it's called "Kaffee und Kuchen," which translates to coffee and cake.
I love this idea of an afternoon respite! Being of English and German descent, I’ve decided to start treating myself to an afternoon snack in the name of my ancestors! As such, I’ve added Tea Time and Kaffee und Kuchen to my regular schedule.
What ways do y'all bring your ancestors into your daily life? ✨️

Just got home from work to this! Thank you to @comfycozywitch for packaging your new book from @weiserbooks all pretty like this! I'm excited to start reading it AND to try out the pumpkin spice sauce! I follow an Irish Pagan path so some of the ideas in here will be modified to suit my path. Now time to reconnect with my kitchen witchery like when I first got into the craft! . . . #comfycozywitch #weisnerbooks #pagan #paganism #witch #witchcraft #hearthwitch #kitchenwitch #hearthandhomewitchcraft #irishpagan #irishpaganism #witchyvibes #witchy #witchythings (at Bay City, Michigan) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch2-faXLpQT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This video by HearthWitch is an excellent example on how to read candle wax. It's actually what taught me how to read it, so I definitely recommend any beginners watch it!
Fresh nails! We put together an Ostara themed set. I love the tiny birds nest...and the snail. Getting my nails done is a gift to myself. We see our hands more than our faces as we go through life. Mine reflecting my personality gives me so much joy. And @zoe_lavender_nail_artist Is the best around.
