Beck, the Mightiest number of them all: 9.
Known for being how not to do a Kickstarter, explosively tasty pizza, and sad anime fans on prom nights.

About the lack of fanfics, I really want to read a fanfic about Beck becoming a insufferable angsty teenager. Imagine how painful it will be for Professor White and the mighty numbers if he has a emo or a rebellious fase to deal in their daily basis
OH MY GOD!!!!

#365DaysOfVGM Day 189:
Mighty No.9 Main Theme (Mighty No. 9 [2016])
Here’s a track that used to be hot, when many people had high hopes for the game’s release. Even after the fact, this track strongly represents how the Battle Colosseum, while good for progressing technology faster, inevitably leads to further conflicts from those who can’t use power responsibly. Would’ve been nice to see that concept fully realized, but alas, this is what we got, with that Synth atmosphere, emotional Guitar, and awe-inducing Bassline being the main reasons I’ll never forget this track!
(Length: 2.5+ minutes)

2, 7, and 8 for Meet the shipper? :]
Aughh Im sorry these are so late i ended up getting pulled into games w/ my friends last night🫠🫠
2: who was your very first fictional crush? I had a MHA phase in high school and ofc my introverted, cat loving, depressed self latched onto Hitoshi Shinsou. Really saw a guy with eyebags and bullying trauma and said 'Bro same! Maybe we could take melatonin together sometime?👉🏾👈🏾☺️'
7: what’s your go-to snack? Frozen Sour cream and cheese ruffles are delish trust me
Also celery sticks w spinach dip are pretty great
8: what are your favorite video games?
Besides the obvious ones
Nier:Automata! I love the story and themes, and the fighting system is my fave by far its given me a love for perfect dodge/counter style mechanics like never before! All the characters are so memorable and the story legit got me close to tears at several points, I will always have a special love for this game tbh
Horizon both games bc fighting robo dinosaurs yes pls! I feel like such a badass. I admittedly havent gotten far in the story of Forbdden West bc i mainly cared about going around and fighting the mechs tho🙃
I also had an intense Starbound, Terraria, and Rimworld phase all at the same time sjsakskjdsk

Mighty no.9: a look back - Rewind Thoughts #29
With the successful sale of MEGAMAN: Battle Network Legacy Collection, I look back where the MEGAMAN legacy was non-existing, Keiji Inafune tried to create a successor with the help of the people (kickstarters), but eventually went south. I give my thoughts on Mighty No. 9, what happened and why many gamers were not happy. The gist is, it does feel like a Megaman with some minor differences, however I can say, this game is not for everyone, unless you're a hardcore Megaman fan, it will be difficult to get into and I explain why. I also give my thoughts on the whole situation of Mighty No. 9, from it's concept and doing the kickstater to how the end produce looked like, and sadly it was not as expected and I can say, yes Keiji Inafune failed his supporters.

Wizard Breakdown Tracker: Mighty Nein Reunited, Part 1
GUESS WHO'S BACK
BACK AGAIN
SOUP WIZARDS
TELL YOUR FRIENDS
Hello and welcome to the return of the Wizard Breakdown Tracker, a late Campaign 2 feature that I realized just now I should have also done for EXU Calamity, but also good news, it's all, eventually, 10/10, pretty much all the wizards die except for possibly Volucia who noped the fuck out to Cael Morrow, and Maya Agrupnin who was Assigned Wizard By Patia. There. EXU Calamity Wizard Breakdown Tracker.
Every D&D game is better with wizards. As Liam O'Brien once said, "what's sexier than wizards? nothing." Now, to be fair, he also once said rogues were the best class when you and I and Brennan Lee Mulligan all know it's paladins; but we can all agree re: the sexiness of wizards. It is my hope that we have more wizards in the future, but for now, we shall cherish the wizards we once had, and that we briefly have again.
Because we're not touching base in this two-shot with a large number of our erstwhile arcane allies and antagonists, and in the service of a joke at the end of this post, we are including our Wizard PCs this time! Let's begin.
Lady Vess DeRogna: She was not in this episode nor mentioned but she WAS in The Nine Eyes of Lucien and she WAS talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, etc. No spoilers for that here. Just wanted you to know that Lady Vess DeRogna is still dead. But like, probably 7/10.
Ludinus Da'leth: Per Beau, the Assembly's gotten awfully quiet lately, and per Caleb, Astrid's been trying to set him up with a professorship, which Ludinus can't really spike because he did offer the Assembly seat to Caleb first so it's weird to say that he's qualified for propaganda minister and not transmutation professor. The Mighty Nein have made this slippery motherfucker sweat so hard that apparently he started making deals with the Feywild. 6/10.
Trent Ikithon: Hey Trent! Bitch.
As previously stated, 9/10.
Astrid Becke: Trent's in jail and she's apparently doing pretty well and is either happy to help Beau's investigation, or helping Caleb without realizing that Beau really wants this. Probably the latter, but we love to see a complicated morally gray queen flourish, though I suspect she's having Beau-like growing pains into her new and fancy job. 4/10.
Yussa Errenis: You can just sense, from his brief response to Jester, that he absolutely knows that the Mighty Nein saved his ass twice and that he will need to call them if he gets trapped on the moon in 7 years, but also he is sleeping, dammit. Secretly glad they keep in touch; really unamused at having 14 people dripping seawater in his tower, because Tidepeak is really more of a turn of phrase. Also if he knew Veth was starting up a camp he would be very slightly hurt she hadn't asked him to teach anything but also if she asked him he would 100% turn it down. 2/10. Never change, king.
Essek Thelyss: We could get all poetic about the yearning but realistically, he's still at the outpost, getting more and more twitchy but also managing to visit Caleb regularly. Possibly hooking up? But that might just be a reference to the bit and general vibe of the episode. Anyway he's probably feeling kind of bad, but hey! We know he ends up in Uthodurn eventually, and then gets to go back to Aeor only to be part the most simultaneously intense and oblique confession of love of all time. So probably 6/10 but buddy! It gets so much better, and pretty soon no less!
Caleb Widogast: There's good meta to be had about Caleb Widogast, six months later, and you are NOT going to find it here, in a post that's about shaking up wizards in an empty Pringles can. Well, at least not much. As indicated above I think this is likely pre-Aeor excursion with Essek; but Caleb feels like he is tentatively and hopefully building a life. It's slow, and it's a little quiet and small right now, but the fact that he's able to do so on his own is itself an immense victory. He probably gets to have lunch with Beau and dinner with Essek at least once a week each, he has a little cottage and his tower, and he's already becoming a beloved teacher. And he leveled up! 3/10. We love to see it.
Veth Brenatto: Jitters about her camp notwithstanding, she's fucking thriving. They're working on the apothecary but in the meantime she's finding a balance of what she loves to do professionally while still staying with her family, she's keeping in touch with the rest, and she's absolutely on point, astute, and hilarious this whole episode. And she is definitely using Tenser's Floating Disk for sex purposes. 1/10. It's Veth Brenatto's world; we're just living in it.
Allura Vyesoren: Pending, depending on what sword Yasha brings out next episode and whether Caleb turned in the staff. TBD/10.
Bonus!
Warlock Breakdown Tracker
Fjord (Stone?): Oh honey.
It's at least five simultaneous breakdowns and they're recharging with each rest like his spell slots. You know how one of the Uk'otoa temples had a hydra? It's a metaphor, or whatever. 10/10.

Chapter: 9/23
Summary: Six months ago, Beau adopted a teenager who loves the Cobalt Soul, but can't stand her. Ten minutes ago, Caleb accidentally summoned his own teenage self into his living room. So you know, they're both going though some shit.
At least Caleb's got experience befriending novice monks with attitude problems. And Beau's got experience befriending Caleb.
Chapter Summary:
Bren sees the ocean; Beau plays pirate.
_____
"Step close," said the Cobalt Soul spellcaster. "It only lasts for six seconds."
Bren stepped up to the edge of the transportation circle. He scanned it quickly—he'd studied transportation circles before, but never actually gone through one. He was fairly sure he could reproduce this one if asked.
"You all good?" Beauregard said, stepping up beside him.
"Of course."
Beauregard rolled her eyes and punched him lightly on the shoulder.
After several days of cross-referencing Beauregard's binder and assembling timelines, Beauregard's request of the Zhelezo had finally been granted. They had permission to interrogate Grankton. So now they were headed to Port Damali to visit the Plankboard Prison, and to see what they could discover by "putting boots on the ground," as Beauregard put it.

Ray may hate Beck, but we can agree that she is the type of older sibling that could tell anyone who tries to mess with him with the "nobody attack my lil brother, except for me" phrase
That's a classic thing between siblings, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in a future game or series XD

Send ✏ (or "PENCIL") for mun to write about a muse they thought about trying to roleplay or one they are already roleplaying outside Tumblr RPC.
Do you remember Mighty Number 9? I know it has a bad rep, but I have a soft spot for it, which is evident since I have a restored Ray as muse. But this isn't about Mighty Number 9, but another series Keiji Inafune promised us afterwards, but many have forgotten about after Mighty Number 9 flopped…
Tumblr media
Red Ash: The Incredible Legend is a series, heavily inspired by Mega Man Legends. All we got when it comes to info is the Red Ash Magicicada video, and if I Role-played as them, I would have to rely on a lot of head canon, but if I could figure everything out, I would love to have Beck, Call, and Tyger from the Red Ash series. I think it would be a lot of fun and bring new life to this forgotten trio. I really hope if I ever get to role-play these three, I can do them justice with what little information we have…

Mighty No. 9
Tumblr media
So, whilst I'm still working on my replay of Mega Man 7 (you think I'm reviewing these things after just one play? Poor form!) I decided to change it up and throw Mighty No. 9 into the mix.
Y'know, the one INAFKING (Keiji Inafune) himself left Capcom to make in lieu of there apparently not being any new Mega Man games -- before Capcom made the, frankly, fucking spectacular Mega Man 11.
MN9 is not spectacular.
So the Internet has decreed, this is an abomination of a game that neither lived up promises from the Kickstarter campaign, or to its premise as a Mega Man spiritual follow-up. Only, I think in the terms of the latter it kinda did. And kinda didn't.
Mega Man, much as I've come to love the series of late, is not the best thing ever. It has swings and misses like any other series (including a certain other blue hero-starring action platform game with an evil genius villain and his penchant for robots) and has more than a few entries that are so 'more of the same' as to be nigh-paralysing with the onset of crippling deja vu.
Mighty Number Nine has swings and misses, and is kinda more of the same (especially the basic formula of 'eight robots with various elemental attributes/weaknesses, followed by an endgame sprint). So far, so delivering on the promises as a game. But it makes some bold decisions in terms of overall game design that could've, maybe, in some parallel universe where they were executed well, elevated this over being a hum-drum tribute to its father series.
Tumblr media
Before I continue, yes I am ignoring wholesale the debacle that was the game's Kickstarter promises and botched launch. I didn't back the game, I wasn't invested in it, other people can tell the story way better than I can. And when I managed to purchase the game for a reduced price circa mid-2017, I wasn't bothered much then either about anything other than how fun the game was.
And was it? Is it? Well, for me, yeah. Kinda. On the surface level it's a slightly-tame Mega Man clone, except the boss weaknesses work a little differently; they don't seem to be a method to absolutely steamroll the Robot Masters, um, the Mighty Numbers as much as offer a way to nullify certain attack patterns or gain other advantages -- thankfully, then, there's no refight boss-rush near the end of the game. But also, on top of this the game attempts to offer replayability with stage rankings and a combo system using the game's dash/absorb 'AcXeleration' mechanic for high scores, but it falls flat on its face and lends more an air of layout rote-memory to the affair than it does creative gameplay and improvisation.
Swing, and a miss, as I say. It's got some charm in places; I personally love the Mighty Number designs -- all apart from player character Beck himself who I could honestly take or leave. And, honestly, the banter between them during the game is great and I'd have loved to see more of them in future installments. But conversely, the game is marred by some occasionally-sadistic placement of instakill hazards in the platforming, overly-long basic boss fights (even with those, uh, "weaknesses", heheheh) and a completely unimpressive aesthetic.
It's not terrible, it's not great either. 3/5
