“if you wanna get to him, you gotta get through me first,” your possessive and bold words immediately drew rindou’s attention towards you. his lilac eyes narrowed as he confusingly tried to make sense of the situation.

rindou had been minding his own business on the couch, listening to some songs out loud. when you had come over to sit next to him, which was just a second ago, he paid it no mind. but, now you were threatening your phone camera?

as if he wasn’t already in a confused state, you turned to face him with that mischievous smile he’s come to dread. then, your hand clawed around his chin, pulling him closer to smash your lips against his.

now he was in complete shock.

before he could even comprehend what the hell was happening, you pulled away just as swiftly as you came and turned back to your phone.

“best brother ever,” you enunciated, a proud smile adorning your lips. rindou’s heart stopped. his hand immediately flew to snatch your recording phone away from you, throwing you a disgusted glare at the same time.

“what the hell is wrong with you?” his question made it hard not to just burst out laughing then and there.

“what do you mean, big bro?” you innocently asked, your tone much softer as you tilted your head at him. he hated the way his heart fooled him to feel a pang of guilt at the sight of your obvious act.

“i’m not your big bro!” he hurriedly replies, giving your shoulder a small shove. unlucky for you, he was quick to move his attention back to your phone, obviously about to delete the video.

“rindou, it’s a prank! don’t delete the video!” you hastily beg, moving to try to claim your phone back from his hands.

“i’m not letting you make people think we’re siblings,” he grumbled, practically jumping over the joke and continuing to hold the phone out of your reach. his fingers were quick to delete the video, much to your dismay. his reaction truly would’ve gone viral.

“rin, that’s a whole trend. no one’s gonna believe we’re siblings,” the whine leaves your lips, upset that he deleted something so funny. in his eyes, he couldn’t believe that you were the one pouting. still, he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of guilt.

he huffed, tossing your phone back to you. “don’t care, that was probably the stupidest thing you’ve ever said. i’m saving you face,” he claimed, moving his arm around your shoulders to pull you closer. despite his words, he was obviously trying to make you feel somewhat better.

“geez, rin, i take what back what i said earlier. you’re actually the worst brother ever,” you mirrored his huff with an eye roll, not being able to resist teasing him.

“i’m not your brother!” he immediately replied, pushing you away from him once again. unlucky for him that he’s just so easy to poke fun at.

HELLO I’VE MADE PAW PATROL DESIGNS!! I’ll be posting each character separately so I can talk more in depth about them, and I’m starting off with the guy himself—Ryder!

just a bit of general information for all of these designs: They’re all adults! I didn’t give them exact ages, but they’re more than likely all in their 20s. In each post, I’ll have the design featured and also some of my headcanons (in the image and in the text of the post!). In particular, I’ve given them all distinct and expanded personalities based on the little we are given in the show (cause let’s be real, they don’t have very distinct personalities). Also, they’re all Canadian except for Carlos and Tracker (though they may be Canadian too, they’re just not currently living there). I hope you enjoy them!

Ryder is incredibly skilled in numerous areas of rescue and mechanics. The people of Adventure Bay love him and rely on him for his and the Paw Patrol’s assistance for not only dangerous situations but also when a cat (or Alex) gets stuck in a tree or a chicken is on the loose.

Growing up, Ryder had no basis for how to act in social situations. He did not know how to smile properly or say the right things. He copied the adults he saw around him, which eventually led to him being perceived as more responsible than other kids and even some adults. In a way, he was, with his high intelligence and problem-solving abilities, but he was still just a kid. When Ryder started his vigilante dog service a week before his tenth birthday, the town immediately became dependent on him for his help, already recognizing him as a trustworthy authority figure. Ryder has been happily serving Adventure Bay and the surrounding areas for many years, for better or for worse. Despite his aversion to human interaction, Ryder deeply cares for everyone and feels a sense of duty to the town and any surrounding areas.

Ryder’s reputation as a completely capable, happy, heroic leader comes mostly from him masking 24/7 to the public, his friends, and even the pups. He knows he’s more intelligent than the townspeople, so he puts himself on their level when he presents himself to them so that he is seen as more relatable and approachable. He does not want to seem cold and unreachable or act like he is superior in any way. When he gets a call about something really trivial, he does not act like it is. On the inside, Ryder is a deeply passionate and caring person, but he is not very social. He forces himself to be social in order to appear amiable to everyone and build relationships with them. He is freakishly good at masking, much like he is freakishly good at doing everything else he does, so he very rarely if ever slips up, even if he does want to bash his head into a wall sometimes. But, ultimately, if it were up to him, he would lock himself up in his workshop and not come out for a week.

I love you, icicles and other beautiful ice formations. I love you, crown snow-load and thick snow covering the trees. I love you, northern lights. I love you, fireplaces. I love you, waking up in the middle of the night in your warm bed, finding the house completely quiet as you walk through the hall, and upon looking out the window, all you can see is the calm snow slowly making its way to the ground, illuminated by the colourful fairy lights and the orange street lights. And you get this magical feeling inside of you, that you’re so warm, and calm, and perfectly safe and sound in this very moment. And you feel like you could stand there forever and just… take it all in.

It wouldn't be the end of a rotation with out a bulleted list recap, so here we go:

Moved out of their temporary accommodations at the train depot and into a home of their own in Conifer Station — making Cass and Wen our first played household outside of Port Promise. New Promise is growing!

Spent a solid 48+ hours doing little else but cleaning and started putting their own homey touches on the place, starting with the living and dining rooms, and transforming the garage into a metalworking studio

Celebrated the summer solstice — and Tyler's birthday — with absolutely everyone in town

Balanced all that hard work with a steamy romance dynamic and, surprise, surprise, found out that they are expecting!

Cassie conspired with Tyler to create a very special ring for Octavia, and made it all the way to level 5 gemology!

Wendell made skill progress on writing (with the laptop he discovered — what am I up to?) and charisma (someone always has to be grinding charisma) and found himself reverting to old ways teaching Octavia's daughter Lydia how to play piano... Perhaps something we'll see more of someday? 🤔

thoughts on Chrome in Beyblade X Ep. 38

Okay before anything and before I end up ranting I GIGGLE EVERYTIME I SEE CHROME AND SIGRID ON SCREEN TOGETHER NOW. The time they spend together is usually her looking like she’s silently judging Chrome and not understanding why he’s so…. obsessed? with Jaxon. The fact she was like “oh you’re watching someone else’s match? That’s unusual for you” AND THEN SAYS “is Blader X… on your mind?” HER TONE. HER TONE. I AM GOING TO SCREAM.

okay back to actually analyzing

The fact we don’t see ANY part of Chrome’s face except his smile is, well, concerning to say the least. It’s like he’s slowly losing himself and his identity in the process. I noticed how in Proof of the Fastest and in this episode he mentioned “X” but he wasn’t talking about Blader X. Like he’s talking about a concept itself, because he says “it” and not “him.” Or maybe I’m reading too much into this? But it’s like he’s trying to become whatever this “X” is. This honestly makes the message at the beginning of the episodes creepier where it speaks “X, whatever it is, is in your hands.” Well, Chrome has this “X” in his HEART. He was clutching at his chest talking about how “the only true X is deep within me” and we see a little ball of light amidst this ocean like interior. Whatever “X” really is, Chrome is. Well. He’s going a little insane about it.

I mean, look how he’s leaning towards the glass. He’s not casually viewing the match like it’s a basketball match you’d casually view and cheer for a team or see how it’s going. He’s actively invested, he’s emotionally invested. One hand is clutching at his chest again, the other is holding onto the glass, almost like he just wants to get out there and actually be in the vicinity of the stadium, close to it to view.

Hey that’s actually CRAZY Chrome is slowly losing it through the episodes

Back onto the concept of X though, I do think that it does tie in with Jaxon though. X can mean a lot of things, but after Jaxon left, Chrome was starting to, well, not take it well it seems from what we’ve seen so far. So it does make sense “X” would relate to Jaxon in a way. Still, it’s like Chrome’s going for a part of this “X” that Jaxon has.

Remember how I said how Chrome clutches at his chest when he talks about “X”? In the 34th ep where we meet Sigrid, Chrome talks about how Jaxon was “definitely there” and how Chrome “felt him, right here” as his hand tightens. The same place where “X” is.

what am I going on about again help me

I also wonder why Sigrid is pretty much, well, indifferent to this behavior? Has she always known this side of Chrome and wasn’t bothered by it? Or does she just not care in the first place? They are teammates, but why hasn’t she up and went like Jaxon? What is her goal? Did she just want to stop at the top of the X just like Chrome and defend their championship? Has Chrome asked her to stay by his side? Or is Sigrid trying to help him out? Is she genuinely concerned for him? I have SO many questions and not enough answers.

I mean sure skin color isn’t something we should automatically go by as evidence, but who else in this show has that exact skin??? And also the elephant in the room— not the one Robin rode on after Zip and Zoom— WHO ELSE’S HAND WOULD CRACK IN A MANNER THAT MADE ME PHYSICALLY CRINGE SEEING THE MATCH BETWEEN QUINN AND JAXON?

that aside for a moment I like the backpack Blader Y has. This show should really sell merch other than Beyblades, I would buy Team Persona plushies in a heartbeat and the Blader’s masks. Though I know it couldn’t just happen like that unfortunately. Maybe an acrylic stand at least, one day… I can only dream.
