Summary: While the ability to overhear the secret thoughts of the people around him was distracting at best and anxiety-inducing at worst, Castiel has found ways to cope that include a pair of noise canceling headphones and burying himself in his research. After hearing inner thoughts for his entire life, there were very few things he overheard that surprised him anymore. So imagine his shock when his roommate Sam's brother, Dean, came to stay with them. While Dean may have been able to keep a straight face on the outside, he was constantly thinking about banging Castiel. 

Excerpt: The bus arrived ten minutes late, hissing to a stop at Castiel’s corner. He boarded, swiped his monthly pass, and claimed his usual seat by the back door. His trusty, over-the-ears noise-canceling headphones drowned out all external noise with the soft sounds of faraway thunderstorms. The vehicle was nearly empty, filled only with a handful of weary commuters. The day had been a marathon. Fall quarter had barely begun at Stanford, yet he was already drowning in work. Assisting Professor Adler with Physics 101 was proving to be his most time-consuming endeavor. The prospect of coaching stressed-out undergrads through basic physics for the entire quarter filled him with dread. Of course, he couldn’t complain. He knew what he was signing up for when he enrolled in the graduate program.  It wasn’t the work itself that bothered him. Preparing lectures, grading papers, even the occasional teaching gig were necessary evils in academia, although his true passion lay in research. No, the problem wasn’t the workload. It was the people. Physics 101 was a behemoth of a class, encompassing multiple sections and hundreds of students. He predicted that his office hours would become a hectic battleground around midterms and finals, which he was not looking forward to. Dealing with any amount of people, especially large groups of people, was a challenge for Castiel. On the nearly empty bus, he could, theoretically, take off his headphones without much issue. There were only a few others around, and he could handle that. But if the bus had been crowded, like it was in the mornings, wearing his expensive noise-canceling headphones with the volume cranked up would be a non-starter. Castiel didn't mind being around people. He just couldn't stand hearing them. Especially when no one was speaking. Because for as long as he could remember, Castiel could hear people's thoughts as clearly as if they were speaking aloud. Thoughts were sometimes loud, sometimes just whispers. People who had internal monologues running through their heads were a near-constant source of noise. Those without them sounded like random ideas or concepts drifting through the air like lost bumblebees. But he always heard them. It was especially bad with large groups of people. The more people around, the more thoughts built up into an unrelenting orchestra of noise. That's why he wore headphones, to block it all out and escape the constant barrage of sound. It was also why he was looking forward to going home.

a/n: a couple things i did my best to write this as gender neutral as i could? i may have failed as i tpcially write x female reader but i tried and i didnt know exactly what you wanted me to write besides one of the supernatural boys with an alt/goth person so sorry its just a short headcannon :) also this is my frist time writing for any of the supernatural boys so im sorry if he is out of character.

Sam loves to do your eyeliner for you on the days when you just don't feel up to it, your full makeup look often takes you a minute to complete. Of course as with everything Sam gets very dedicated to it and so he only does it after he has perfected it, not wanting to ruin your look with imperfect liner. Meaning sometimes it may just take longer in the end than if you did it on your own. You could care less though because as Sam does it, he will have a very soft grasp on your face and or neck the whole time. Softly caressing your skin with his thumb mindlessly in focus. The small action always makes your heart swell.

Plus: after almost 2 weeks of begging and endlessly promising to never show or tell Dean, he lets you do your signature eyeliner look on him. He wouldn't let you do your full regular makeup look on him but you were happy he even agreed to the eyeliner.

“Babe I promise you're gonna look so cool once I'm done” you gush with a small smile on your face. You had a hold on his chin to force his head still. You were currently sat on his lap in your shared room at the bunker, Him being sat on your vanity chair.

“You're lucky i love you princess” he chuckled softly and rubs his hands over your thighs, giving them a small squeeze as continue working on your masterpiece.

Speaking of your shared bedroom in the bunker, with your and Sam's combined wardrobes there was a severe lack of color. The both of you favoring black and darker colors.

You require attention from San often even when he is on one of his research deepdives. So Sam doing whatever he can to keep his girl happy worked it out that he will do his researching on the couch. That way you can lay out next to him with your head in his lap. He often finds himself playing and fidgeting with your necklaces or ear piercings, facial piercings, etc.

You have a darker sense of humor that tends to come out at inopportune moments on hunts. It never fails to break tension however and get a small laugh out of both the brothers.

Sam isn't all that big on PDA but loves giving you small random shows of affection, his hand rubbing your shoulder, a small squeeze of your hip in passing. His favorite though being small kisses of appreciation, reassurance, etc. though after a small and not entirely compliant of him messing up your makeup when he'd kiss your face and how it took you a long time. He began turning the small kissing habit into kissing your hand, the top of your head, your shoulder, anywhere but your face when you had your full makeup look on.

When you’d tag along on hunts with the boys Sam bought you a small vial necklace that matched all your other jewelry for you to wear and fill with holy water. Just in case you needed it.

The brothers also found out the hard way that when you're fully dressed up in your gothic/alternative look on hunts the three of you are often turned away at churches. You learned to pack a more normal outfit to switch into if it's necessary to step foot in church. You also easily overheat with your all black clothing. Sam started always keeping the AC on in the impala, at least when he's in the driver's seat that is.

Sam finds himself tracing or kissing your anti-possession tattoo that you had gotten alongside them. You don't often go on hunts with them, Sam being far too worried and nervous about your well being. He's concerned you'll get hurt even not out on hunts so he was relieved when you agreed to get the tattoo when they did. He wants nothing more than for you to be safe and happy.

“I will always protect you baby you know that right?” Sam questions softly as his finger traces around your shared tattoo and any others you have.

“I know that sweet boy” you smile fondly at your boyfriend and snuggle closer in his arms.

Oh man. This is one of those things I waffle on hard. Because I think the real root of BB not wanting to have anything to do with the kids is because their creation, and existence, was born of betrayal.

BB knew people were thinking about him passing his genes along. It's hinted at a little bit in MGS3, if in a sort of 'off-handed' way, but he was certainly aware people around him (like Para Medic) thought about it and had considered it.

To me, one of the key issues with the clones is that he wasn't given a chance to say 'yay' or 'nay'. Everyone just did it behind his back, because they had access to his DNA. That alone (the non-consensual aspect) is more than enough for him to reject his 'sons' completely.

And he isn't wrong to do so, in this regard. The sons themselves are innocent, but that doesn't make it easy for BB to accept them as 'his' when he wasn't given a choice, or any form of capability to consent.

There was also the timing. NOT that him being cloned against his will would ever, in any circumstance be okay, but at the time, BB was still grieving the Boss, and had been used and betrayed by the USA. I tend to keep in mind that the US using him was a betrayal for BB, because before that, he willingly followed the will of the government.

Something the Boss herself warned against.

After all that, people he considered his friends, also betray him. By this point BB must've truly felt that he can't trust anyone, and that no matter where he goes, someone out there is only going to see him as some kind of glorified tool; no matter how much he might've trusted them, or how strong their relationship was.

With all that being said, if we do remove the cloning aspect, and assume the twins to have been born the normal way (that is, the old-fashioned consensual way with Eva) would he have kept them?

I'd say it would depend on the circumstances. There's a brief period after MGS3, before The Patriots are formed where BB is working odd jobs, and just trying to find his place again. Could he ostensibly settle down and be a standard all-American family man?

Honestly, I don't really think so. I think that he knows and understands warzones the best; and that he has a level of discomfort with society that is hard to ignore. I think BB would end up finding a warzone or war-adjacent zones anyway, and that anything else just ends up being a temporary delay or temporary reprieve.

Having children would get in the way of that. (Until later, of course..we know he has Chico and children in Zanzibarland, by the time he's a full-out warlord)

Which shifts me into the secondary aspect, or a possible alternative-BB accepting his sons when they're old enough to be 'useful' to him. In this case, they'd be part of his soldiers, his men, and work under him. Obeying him the same way any of his other soldiers do; and working for the same 'end' goal.

I think he and Liquid would clash even without Liquid's ever-present desire for patricide, but I imagine he and Dave would get along to some degree, if they had aspects they could bond over. Even if that bonding only ever boils down to 'sitting side by side doing some task or another, and not saying a word' Maybe hunting together, or other things they can share.

I don't know that BB would ever see himself as a 'family man'. But I could see him accepting them as his sons if they were wanted by him to some degree. Or slowly accepting them in his life, if they were brought into the world with his consent.

There could maybe be an argument of him accepting them despite the non-con aspect, but I think it'd be more with an element of 'you're men that I respect and like, but I can't call myself your father'.

Which is..essentially what ends up happening, way at the end.

So, in a way, thanks, Meg, for dragging him out of his comfort zone because Cas soon discovers how worth it is to try new things in college.

hey everyone and happy new year! I don’t typically do authors notes but I figured I would give it a try this time. I’ve been really wanting to come back to writing but between my busy schedule and own issues, I hadn’t happened for me until now. I really wrote this small fic on a whim heavily inspired by my first semester at college. I’ve gotten to know the party scene well and it doesn’t pair the best with my own social anxiety, so ofc I had to project that onto my favorite characters and give them a happy ending. what can I say, it makes me feel better, sue me. hope you enjoy!

You've all seen the Goth kit styled beautifully by other creators... but what if I showed you it straight up?

No cc, no pairing with items from other packs... this is what we're left with. Alternative heading: Idk how some of ya'll have made this kit look so good, but let's talk about it.

My thoughts... ↓

Right off the bat: I don't like most of the swatches on these items and I don't think I would constitute most of the swatches as "Goth." For example - what is that weird blueish-purple swirly tablecloth looking swatch on every item? More than that though, I think the biggest issue with this kit is that the items themselves don't pair well with each other.

We'll start out with the makeup: we only got 3 makeup items with this kit and I don't feel strongly about any of them personally. I will say that the runny makeup swatch is kind of cool and unique but idk how often I'll personally find a use for it. (Sidenote: because all the makeup is slider compatible I do think he lack of swatches is okay. Also, storytellers might find the runny makeup item useful if they slide the opacity down because then it would look like more natural, runny makeup after crying. Just a thought!) It is peculiar to me that 2/3 makeup items are locked for fem frame only and I'm wondering if this was just an oversight. Regardless, I'm noting that as a negative - if you want to use the lipstick or eyeshadow on a masc frame sim you need to uncheck masc frame in the makeup category of CAS for it to show up.

I HATE the egg-head hoodie, especially because 1. it could have been such a cool item that I would have used a lot if it didn't give sims a dramatic gnome pointy head and 2. it's unusable on fem frame sims due to the bug eye issue which everyone has already pointed out but I'm going to point out as well because... wtf?! I am also not a huge fan of the earrings and necklace that came with the kit due to the fact that they're just really clunky-chunky and the necklace felt like a late addon to me as most of the outfits had a high neck, so pairing the choker with the majority of outfits from this pack didn't actually look good. I was shocked there were no tattoos, no hats, not a single hairstyle (my biggest complaint about this kit and CAS kits in general as we always need more hairstyles), no facial piercings, not even a nail polish. And, as always, masc frame sims were short-changed in comparison to fem frame sims.

One positive note is that I think a few of these items could pair well with items from other packs and, of course, some amazing cc that's out there as you've probably already seen some creators do. (But, again, that's not what I'm personally reviewing so really that's neither here nor there, but I wanted to note it nonetheless.)

Here's a list of the items I personally liked:

The trench coat full-body outfit in both frames (sans some swatches).

The Tripp style shorts - I think I will use these a lot (and I think the recolors will be great).

The very first outfit I showed above in the fem frame (mesh shirt and shorts) is workable.

The plain leather jacket top in both frames (versatile, simple, lays on all bodies well and recolors will be nice).

The t-shirt with a mesh shirt or fishnet shirt underneath.

I suppose I also like the bracelet and gloves that came with this pack, but that's just because they were simple and inoffensive lol. Idk how the sims team could have possibly screwed up those items. I'll use them at some point though I'm sure, so that's a very weak win I will give them.

All of that to say...I don't like this kit nearly as much as the Grunge kit. Most of the items are middle of the road at best and poorly executed at worst. I didn't have unreasonably high expectations for this kit, but I still think it could have been done better and I think it's okay to want better as a community (especially because not everyone can use cc, so this might be the only goth stuff they have to work with). If EA can't execute something well, they just should do it. This is why I don't agree with the "did you all expect EA to give us a well-done Goth kit?" crowd because yes, actually, I did! We should expect them to at least do the bare-minimum and do their research so they can deliver on a concept that they proposed to us in the first place and will be making money off of... but I digress!

I still stand by the fact that nearly everything looks super chunky and dated - if someone told me all of this came out with the base game or an older pack like Realm of Magic, I would believe them.

I'll say it again: the hoodie thing is bananas to me. Idk how they didn't catch that before releasing the damn kit but that's a careless mistake that would be funny if it wasn't so expected.

That's the Goth Galore kit in its entirety! These were just my opinions, so keep that in mind. You can love this kit and disagree with me and that's okay! But for those of you wondering what it looks like in game with no cc/reshade/or any embellishments before you buy it, I hope this little overview was helpful!

Kim Jang-Mi, the daughter and eldest child of the Kim Family who own and run a successful public relations company in Los Angeles. they're known for how well they handle client's scandals and their cutthroat attitude towards the business while keeping their own family life very private. Rose was doted as a child and her mother loved to brag about how adorable she was to all her friends and the public, but behind closed doors was a different story. Sure she was born with a golden spoon in her mouth who got whatever she wanted (music lessons, toys, dance classes, etc.) except what she needed: her parents attention. Of course they went on to have to more children afterwards but nothing changed.

From a young age, it was the nanny and maids who watched, cared, and raised them. Both parents spending all their time to build the company to what it is now known today. But of course if there was a private society event happening where they needed to look like the picture perfect family or parent, Rose and her siblings would appear there at their side with a big smile on their faces.

While yes, she did get to go to the best schools offered where she hoped to thrive in, it wasn’t the case. Many kids made fun of her, whether its because they saw her as a lonely kid who focused on having good grades or for having her nanny show up to school events instead of her own parents.

Things then changed. In the beginning of their teenage years, she had a drastic makeover, and soon, many were trying to be her friend. You see Rose became to show her magical abilities, something her mother was ecstatic about as the Kim family was part of a small circle of other wealthy Witch families. She became popular and loved the attention even though all she did was changer her appearance, an alternate version of herself that she realized many people adored.

During school she discovered a passion for helping animals and made it her goal to become a veterinarian. Though it would be tough, as her life had been planned since the moment she was born and after graduating both highschool and university with honors, and a degree in animal science, her parents begin talk of marriage.

Fast forward to the present: Rose decided to leave her hometown of Los Angeles due to [REDACTED] and moved to Cardinal Hill, WA. She now works as a Veterinarian at Familiar Paws for almost a year now. Some say she's always looking over her shoulder and can be a little guard about her personal life but everyone says it's because she is still new to the area after arriving so abruptly.

Is afraid of one day waking up and forgetting how to play the role or saying something if she isn’t thinking or in control. Her two main loves are: her cat and potion making. she generally enjoys working as vet as it keeps her busy, sometimes too busy if being realistic that it takes up alot of her time though makes times for her friends.

Personality wise, Rose is your typical rich girl. she is always down to go out for drinks. she drinks too much coffee for her own good and loves to read all genres of books. has many books scattered around her room filled with things about potions, animals, and romance.

She can be vain, maybe it comes with being a rich spoiled kid or the fact that everything has somehow always been in her favor. She knows she is talented and isn’t afraid to mention all the accolades she has had. rose can be very sarcastic and blunt. isn’t one to sugar coat things ( if you’re straight with her, she’ll be the same with you ) and has develop a nasty habit of smoking (says she can quit at anytime).

Ships came natural to her, whether being able to make friends real easy or jumping straight into a relationship with someone. with friends, she’ll be loyal, the one to take care of you when sick, the one you should def call to bail you out of jail or tell it to you straight. though the minute you cross her, its over between you both and you should watch out. with love, she loves the idea of love to a fault, maybe it comes from listening to too many love songs but she loves the chase, the first few months when the fire of passion is high.

Preview: All of a sudden, Dean’s entire body tingled, and he swallowed when he felt Cas’ gaze focusing on him. Every time Cas looked at him, it felt like hovering next to a live wire. The hairs on his body stood up, and something prickled inside him.

It shouldn’t be possible, but it felt like remnants of Grace reacted to Cas whenever the angel turned his attention towards him. Sweat started to rise on Dean’s forehead, and he stared at the faded pages of the book in front of him while heat rushed through him.

Tracing the lines with his index finger and trying to focus on the blurry words before his eyes, Dean heard footsteps. They were walking towards him, and for a moment he forgot how to breathe. He could feel Cas’ proximity, and he was sure Cas felt the same.

Unable to evade Cas’ gaze any longer, Dean lifted his head, just to find his best friend watching him closely. Dean bit his bottom lip, and Cas’ eyes followed the movement.

Unbidden, Sam’s words rushed back to Dean’s mind. He couldn’t do anything to stop it, especially with Cas’ eyes firmly focused on his lips.

“Like what you see?” Dean quipped, thankful that his voice didn’t give out. He felt less confident than he tried to make Cas believe.

But of course, Cas was Cas. Tilting his head, he nodded before his eyes lifted just enough to gaze into Dean’s. “Yes, I like it very much.”

A shudder ran down Dean’s spine and he swallowed. Cas’ words didn’t need to mean anything. Maybe, Cas just liked lips, any lips, not only his.

Which would mean— Dean blinked. Shit! Cas never— Dean would have noticed if Cas had stared at Sam’s lips with the same intensity, as he seemed to watch his. And not just Sam’s lips, everyone else’s too.

Turns out that the twins’s Auntie Liddy was more than willing to help with their plan as was Nia’s cousin Cora. This made the children cheer because they saw how miserable their daddies were now and if their plan worked, that would change and then upon the success of their plan they’d all three of them have two daddies. So, they got to work on what Auntie Liddy and Cora said was called the Stubborn Boys in Love Plan. Nia scrunched up her nose and suggested an alternative name. 

“We should call it Parent Trap.”

Lydia and Cora exchanged a look and smiled. The twins giggled remembering those two movies from one of their sleepovers. 

“At least there’s no new woman or anything,” Cas said. 

“Yeah!” Reyn chimed in. “Plus, I like Mr. Hale. I don’t want a new mommy. I want a daddy.”

“And I like Mr. Tinski. So, me too,” Nia said softly. 

“Me three!!” Cas said and they all bumped fists. “We should also rewatch the movies for research purposes. Daddy always says that research is very important.”

All three of the children agreed much to the amusement and fondness of Cora and Lydia who were more than willing to get the two stubborn men to sort things out. 

It was time to put their heads together. This plan was gonna work, all of them knowing that without a doubt.

Nia left her pillow at Lydia’s House and asked her daddy to get it. Peter wanted to send Cora because he knew Stiles had planned to see Lydia, though don’t ask him how he knew that. Cora refused and Peter went. Stiles shoved the pillow at him and slammed the door. Peter sighed, but as he turned to head back to his car, he heard Lydia’s voice. “You’re being stubborn and acting like a child, Stiles.”

“Watch it, Lyds. I love you and you’re my best friend but if you think that you can order me to be nice to the man who tried to poison me with the same poison that killed—” 

“I’m sorry.”

Peter heard them shuffle closer and suspected Lydia was hugging Stiles. Peter wished he could comfort the man and his wolf was whining at him to do just that, but Peter kept walking, got in his car and left all the while wondering who the poison had killed and terrified it was the twins’s mom. Wouldn’t that just be Peter's luck?

Hard to say, removing pool ladder is a classic everyone loves, but I really loved Mummy Curse Death from TS3 World Adventures, as it has to be one of the most forboding and ominous.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I go with a mix of both, don't really care.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

My sims rarely gain weight.

4. Do you use move objects?

Of course I do, everybody does!

5. Favorite mod?

Deaderpool's MC Command Center is a must. I'm also a big fan of Coolspear's and Sacrificial's work, and lately I fell in love with new custom skills by JaneSimsten.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

That's gotta be Hot Date for Sims 1. Yeah, I'm that old.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

Since English isn't my native language, I tend to alternate between those, but I usually go with Live, as in LIVing.

Let's see: Sims 1 was awesome, but now is really dated, and build mode is limited and obnoxious to use. Sims 2 is a fantastic game but it's so buggy and prone to save corruption. Sims 3 Would be the best, due to the open world and so many fun lifestates, if you didn't had to wait an eternity and a half for it to load. Also, Twilight sparkly vampires. Ew. I kinda like Sims 4 the best, not only it has the best versions of lifestates (maybe except the furry-ass werewolves), but also the Best QoL improvements to CAS and Build mode. Give it some time, and I think it will be the best sims game ever.

It really didn't change much, except I rarely now deliberately kill my sims, as I get attached to my pixel dolls. Back in my TS1 days I would torture my sims in the most fun ways.
