I'll never get over how wwx's dream was cottage core fantasy and lwj's was the most raunchy kinky teenage fantasy known to man like that boy hid a world's worth of horniness in his clenched fists what an icon
but real talk honestly the best about about teenji is he normalizes that yes teenagers can have sexual desires and urges and no it does not make them the spawn of satan if they do

Urania is the Bill Nye of Olympus
She has an entire palace dedicated to the random rooms and bits she films (partially funded by Apollo bc ofc he would). She makes videos on everything from indice rules to explaining string theory in-depth.
she drags Apollo on sometimes to physically show mini versions of stuff like nebulas condensing and forming protostars to scale (which he can do bc god of the sun. Also god. He could totally figure that out somehow.)
he’s also got his own little segment at the people’s request where they banter and people ship them

@pilferingapples it is more egregious because all these articles written by Global North academics are talking about decolonising the field of bioethics, they're talking about importance of listening to and recognising research in healthcare from Global South and yet, how do you expect this to happen in the unequal system that persists in academia?? I can easily find articles about bioethics from US, UK, EU, Australia etc. There is dearth of information from Global South and the ones that are published are behind a paywall. The least, the extreme bare minimum these journals can do is make it open access, waive the fees. But, no! All their arguments are for their research papers. No one actually wants to do what they are so eager to publish. And that kinda sucks, imo.

New session of classes (and hopefully I won't forget to write about half of them this time).
Nova was surprisingly excited when we pulled in. Like, almost 'we've arrived at the park' level of excitement. I guess she missed having class during the break between sessions? She had been being happy to arrive at the building, but it wasn't this level of excited and ready to go.
It's a new area to train in and with new dogs so she was more distracted this time than she had been during the last few classes of last session, but still nothing like that first class where she was very confused and concerned about walking in circles and being followed. She was lagging in her heel - which is unusual because she's typically forging ahead. I think she was trying to take in the new sights/sounds/smells and if so that's a huge improvement in her comfort from trying to pull off to a corner to observe from. Some of it might have been a pacing issue, she kept her heel much better when we were going faster.
Since I mentioned Nova has a decent downstay we're up first to practice the supervised separation next week. Eep. So we'll be trying to practice that in more stressful situations beforehand. Nova will not willingly go with a stranger, but I'm hoping a downstay and just incidentally having a stranger holding the leash will be comfortable enough for her.

Have just sat through a labor and delivery class, and friends: nothing made me realize that my high school's sex ed was sub par faster than my partner turning to me and going "ok so when do we get past stuff we covered in fifth grade."
Meanwhile, I'm over here taking notes like I'm cramming for finals. 😭

I wanna be an artist so bad bro what am i doing in college
#during the oral exam the eng prof asked me ''why am i even in college?'' (his usual)#and i was like. genuinely thought to myself ''i'm here bc i have to be.''#like when teachers tell you high school isn't mandatory or when you think college isn't mandatorx#by law? sure. but am i gonna find a job without a higher education? in this economy not even a doctorate would help much#i HAVE TO study something and languages are smth i'd be the least suicidal ab studying#but i want to be. a creative.#i also wanna create unsettling art but that is so much easier with auditory and visual mediums...#but... i'll do my best#i'm an artist which means i can do whatever i want it's all in my hands#if i work hard enough and practice i can write truly unsettling things#i can bring the uncanny valley in words i can use the kafkaesque atmosphere i can present weird things as if they're normal#and make it unsettling both in what's portrayed and HOW it's portrayed#i have two novel wips but i think rather than novels i'm better suited for short stories for anthologies for collections#i'm still exploring and getting to know myself as a writer#it makes me a bit sad and disappointed in myself because it's been about a decade since i thought ''this is my calling''#but i just recently decided horror is what i want to write and i can#not help but also feel joyful and happy about the fact that i'm still finding myself#and that i'm still evolving as a writer and that there are probably still so many things i have yet to find out about my art#but for now. [thru tears and gritted teeth] i am writing a dictionary#but even this ! i am expanding my vocabulary which will help my art :]

EDUCATION
youth learning - basically kindergarten + pre-primary, more focused on teaching kids about boundaries and sharing etc, gets them ready to go into primary school
primary school - from ages 6-16, teaches regular school shit (reading, writing, maths, health, arts, social studies etc); for casters there are often specific classes, after-school programs or out-of-school clubs to teach them all about the hows and why's of casting - in some cities or larger towns there might even be a separate school (eg. the Academy in Prota, which also partially acts as a boarding school)
usually after completing the 10 years of primary education, kids will go on to do a 2 year (minimum) apprenticeship in the subject/trade of their choice before going to university; but it's not a huge deal unless you're in the fancier parts of Nevmones (those fuckers are judgy about education).
secondary education - things like university and apprenticeships, really any kind of semi-formal education that goes beyond the 10 years in primary school

Me, one field school and capstone away from completing my bachelor's of studio art and minor in archaeology, after 8 years of part time college: hey what if I didn't actually want to be an artist and I immediately pivot from this into a bachelor's of zoology so I can go to grad school for paleozoology/paleobiology? Haha wouldn't that be wild. Right guys
