Sneaking on here late at night (not THAT late, but I still should probably go to bed else the migraine comes back) to humbly request some Milu thoughts 💖

sorry for the delay in answering this one, but thank you for asking!!💕

alright. what is there to say about her that y'all don't already know and feel.. hmm

she's a precious bean, she is fierce and brave and adorable.

she presumably made the trip to Meridian all by herself (if there was more detail about her journey that I'm forgetting right now I apologize), she saw the struggles her tribe was facing and decided to step up and figure out a way she could help, determined to do her part even if it was against the Utaru ways, in order to help preserve them and their future.

she's optimistic but not oblivious to the things going on around her, she was obviously impressive and eager enough to catch Talanah's attention and be allowed to become her Thrush, and we know she can handle herself.

I think in a lot of ways she also kind of mirrors a younger Zo, though not as traumatised, hopefully. (though, who knows. don't remember if we ever learn more about her family, if they're still around and if so where, and how they're doing. so I guess in theory she could be dealing with more personal grief as well, in addition to the general Utaru grief over their lands failing them and their Land Gods' ailments) they're both proactive, caring individuals, who put the greater good of their tribe above the ways of the tribe when necessary.

anyway, the rest of the reasons I like her are more to do with shipping her with Beta (and possibly Sokorra bc why not. you know me and my love of ot3s. plus we've already talked lake Tallneck date night, lol)

I just think she would be the perfect candidate to get Beta out of her shell (and into the sun). and to be able to handle her at her worst, I guess. not to take her bullshit or lashing out without complaint, just to be understanding and willing to listen once she apologises. to help her heal from past hurts and trauma. Milu while exciteable still seems like a solid, calm character. like, someone who would listen if you had irrational worries or if you were struggling to stay present in the moment.

(am I projecting? naaaaaaah. shut up)

and she seems interested enough in what Talanah has told her about Aloy's journey thus far, that she'd probably be interested to hear more about Beta and anything.. focus-related. definitely more than willing to try and help with what's coming next.

plus, she's still in training, so getting Beta on board with that might not be a bad idea, she knows enough to help her with the basics, and the rest they can learn together. I think their different areas of expertise would be good and quite complementary.

also, she's cute. have I mentioned that? I just love her so much. her excited lil fists give me life and I just want her around forever and always.

also - she's definitely more out-going than Beta, so I think that would help as well.

Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar redesign

Charlotte Morningstar was the first ‘Alive’ child of Lilith and Lucifer Morningstar born in 1830. She was the first child they could have after Lilith's 100 still-born children and because of that she was protected very much in her Mansion in Pride ring. Throughout her life she was Sheltered both at her mansion and in her daily life; for example she wasn't able to go out into Pride very much, hell she was more accustomed to the other rings rather than her own.

It has been like the for the next 170 years until charlie had soon learned about the the exterminations one day as she home in pride; she saw plenty of scary looking angels coming down from the sky and kill the sinners; she was shocked and confronted her parents on this and there was a nasty spat between them it ended with charlie crying in her room accompanying her was her fathers assistant snake Milu.

For the next 19 years she has been trying to avoid her parents so much the only one who she could tolerate was her Mother Lilith but that had a limit around 2017 her mother left, she didn't know if it was a divorce, a separation or anything else but she was gone. Only now it was Lucifer, Charlie and Milu.

And in that 19 years charlie has been hatching a plan to research about the sinners, she believes that none of them deserve the second death and that they should be given a second chance; so she studies, research and plan to make a place to help rehabilitate these people. Five years ago she decided to leave the mansion after a rather intense argument with only three bags worth of items and a few million hellbucks shes been saving up to leave, and one angel demon she decided to leave her mansion and move into a deserted hotel. With her and Aggie she decided to make this hotel into a rehabilitation center to help sinner who want to become better people, with her first guest the Pornstar Angeldust and a benefactor being the Radio demon she ready for the future.(Slightly vague but their will be more details in the future so dont worry)

Changes in her designs:

-I do enjoy Charlies OG Design a lot , but some faults i think the og has is that the suit should have been a different color then the red she wears mainly due to that color being in nearly every single design for the characters she should at least stand out with a different colored suit like gold.

-she has Pink hair in this version because its meant to be a mix of her dads (light blonde) and her mothers (Pink red), and her hair resembles a mix of Rapunzel from tangled and Fiona from Shrek.

-I gave her a golden suit rather then a red one to stand out amongst her sinners to show that she's different from them.

-And I gave her a skirt instead of pants cause all the girl bosses need one

-while she doesn't have hooves I made her boots hooves inspired.

-Horns because she using 10 percent of her own power

-Gloves for professional-ism

-She has fangs and pointy ears to show more of her demon form(Also no cheek-marks cause I didn't like them)

10 Facts:

-Her birth year is a reference to her first ever beta design dying around 1830s and in the time of writing this she's currently 194 years old.

-She still Bisexual even in this AU/rewrite and we will mention some of her past lovers in this au :3

-She's currently using 10 percent of her own demonic power in her current design meant to show that she wants to be shown as professional and make sure that she has enough power to protect herself and the hotel if something goes awry.

-She's been studying psychology in the past 10 years to try to understand the sinners so that she can use the knowledge that she can to help the sinners and understand their issues but she still has that rather naive/parental thing to her while she does try to be kind and caring it almost comes off as condescending to the other guests

-Went to her education for the most part in a elite private school for higher up demons in the envy ring for k-12.

-After she had left home the only things she took where three bags worth of her items and about 2.5 million hell-bucks and decided to that she would want to try do things on her own.

-her relationship with her parents is a complex situation, she adores her mothers and her relationship with her father is rather rocky and complicated, due to an event when she was little she wanted to stay away from her father and after 10 ish years she slowly wanted to reconnect with him, and as they were slowly working on it she found out about the exterminations which made their relatiosnhip even harder and then their was the fight that made her leave.

-Her favorite foods include: Frappuccino's, Hells deep dish-Pizza, strawberry shortcake, and Pink Lemonade Alcohol.

-She's 6'0 (182.88 cm)

-She would be still be voiced by Erika Henningsen.

Beta for the ask game!

Sexuality Headcanon: I really enjoy the idea of Bi Beta!!!!! Gender Headcanon: she/her pronouns for Beta! A ship I have with said character: I mean, Beta/Milu is the hill I'll fight to the death on. But I also kind of adore the idea of Beta/Larend (aka Oseram Michael Cera, the young armorer kid who gives you the salvage contract at Barren Light) A BROTP I have with said character: SYLENS. 1000% SYLENS. A NOTP I have with said character: A lot of them, tbh! Outside of the two mentioned above, she's not the most shippable character to me. A random headcanon: Beta has written fanfiction for Second Time Around and still keeps notes for her abandoned longfic General Opinion over said character: Beta's delightful, but I wish her role, the development of her relationship with Aloy, OR the implementation of a different Sobeck clone had been better-handled in HFW

what's your favorite ship and why? Not limited to any particular fandom

hi! thank you for the ask :)

at any given point in time I usually have a few different favourite ships at once, so I'll give you the most relevant ones from right now:

Beta/Milu: because they're baby and cute and deserve happiness, and Milu seems like the best match for Beta. and I really want Beta to be happy and enjoy life after everything she's been through. plus Beta could definitely help Milu with some science related to helping the Utaru, I'm sure.

Ikrie/Yarra: because I thought about it for two seconds once, and mentioned it to @tjerra14 and was met with nothing but support, so now there's two story ideas floating around.

with this one I'll explain more thoroughly (bc I talked about Beta/Milu a little more recently). thing is.. there's no way in hell Ikrie would have stayed in The Cut considering even Aratak made the journey. so I hc her being at the final battle in HZD and then moving West with Talanah and Milu, and possibly making her way across the mountain bc she's Ikrie and mountains are where she grew up, so the invisible plot barrier would not keep her out of Tenakth territory if she thought Aloy might have come through.

tjerra and I hc her then making her journey towards Scalding Spear and stumbling upon Meat in the clasps of a certain group of Rebel Bandits and saving Meat, but not getting away unscathed, and Yarra then being alerted to her presence. ANYWAY all that to give the setup. (the other story idea involved a lot more birds and puns)

the reason I think they would be well matched is that Yarra is just as dedicated to her people's ways as Mailen was, which is sth Ikrie could certainly understand, but we see later on that she is also willing to change and admit when her ways may cause more harm than good, so: matched in ferocity, bonding over Yarra's pet companion and just overall a fun dynamic imho. I JUST THINK THEY'RE NEAT

Nanno/Yuri: would be my third fave atm, mostly bc the whole enemies to lovers dynamic can be fun, especially where the supernatural is involved. and I love a good you kill me I kill you back dynamic every now and then. so there's that

1.) ride or die ship (your otp): Absolutely Aloy x Talanah! Been going strong on that ship for a couple years now! Fingers still crossed for them having their romantic shot in game 3.

2.) most annoying ship: This one actually misspelled shipper* and it’s me!

3.) second favorite ship: Alva x Aloy. I can understand why people prefer not to ship characters in established relationships, like regarding Federa - but imo fandom is a sandbox for a reason and these two have AWESOME chemistry and are so cute ;;;

4.) favorite platonic relationship: I think Beta and Erend and/or Kotallo would be really cute to see develop in the future of the series. Two strong and safe lads to help her navigate the world!

5.) underrated ship: Beta x Milu nation rise!! ;;; They may hold hands and be back home before 9pm

6.) overrated ship: No such thing! If you ship it and enjoy it and it brings you joy that’s all that matters!

7.) One thing I would change in canon: Unfortunately, lots. The writing of the series has taken a hit after HZD in my opinion. Varl’s death sticks out to me the most, entirely unnecessary shock value addition to the story. 

8.) something canon did right: Making Aloy queer explicitly within the text!

tag game (Horizon)

1.ride or die ship (your otp): Ereloy fics and art give me so much serotonin it's unreal.

2. most annoying ship: I don't find any ships annoying. There are some that are not for me, sure, but if people love it who am I to judge?

3. second favourite ship: Ugh, I dunno. Beta/Milu is adorable, Aloy/Ikrie is classic, Niloy can make for some very interesting reading, but I guess Hawk and Thrush makes the most sense.

4. favourite platonic relationship: It's got to be the Erend and the guys in the Vanguard. Their endless jibes and grumbling at each other are very reminiscent of some of my very best friendships. Varl and Erend's interactions are great, too, they're just so easy with one another.

5. underrated ship: I really like ships that involve minor characters - the recent rair pair roundup has been delightful for me. I long for a fic about some of the Oseram salvagers getting to know the Tenakth whose land they've invaded.

6. overrated ship: see no. 2.

7. one thing i would change in canon: Like, a lot. There were some pretty big chunks of HFW (and Burning Shores) that just didn't sit right. I don't think I can better the responses of @foibles-fables and @finrays (both of whom might be actual geniuses), but I'd settle for the returning characters (Varl, Erend, Talanah, Avad) to be treated better!

8. something canon did right: I think the Horizon series is best when it focuses on poignant storytelling over action. The way the history of the metal world slowly reveals itself at the Grave-hoard and in the Zero Dawn facility below Sunfall is hauntingly beautiful; I'd love to be able to play them for the first time again. In HFW, the quests in Dunehollow to recover POSEIDON were practically perfect, and Gildun's return in Burning Shores was the best part of the DLC by a country mile. In both these cases you get to peek into the lives of a person from the past via emotionally impactful datapoints whose recorded thoughts parallel the people you're trying to help in the present, yet it never feels too on-the-nose. Of course it helps that the people you're trying to help are some of the best realised characters in the whole game.

9. a thing i'm proud of creating for the fandom PLEASE BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF I WANT TO SEE/READ YOUR ART: Eh. Alas, I'm not artistically talented. I just take virtual photos of stuff I like. I put a lot of effort into my machine headshot series, though. If you go to @singingkestrel and search for 'headshots compilation' (or 'hfw machines') they should all come up.

10. a character who is perfect to me (wouldn't change a thing): None of the main cast were treated 100% right in HFW. I mean, there are some things that make me genuinely angry if I think about them too much. Varl dying for no good reason, Erend being turned into a bumbling oaf, Regalla being criminally underused... ugh. UGH I SAY!

But you know who is perfect?

Morlund.

I love his optimism and his determination and his intelligence and his companionable nature. He's a nerdy mad inventor and a very strong candidate for the most overtly hopeful and kind chap in game (I mean, there is also Varl. And Gildun.) and I just adore him.

11. the character i relate to the most and why: I look at the Oseram in both HZD and HFW and see myself, my friends and my home. I adore their aesthetic with all of its chunky wood and sturdy iron, I love their down to earth attitude, their culture of hard work and social drinking and affectionate insults, their adventurous wanderer spirit and inventiveness and willingness to argue about everything. Are they flawed? Sure! Like me, they're loud and blunt and often speak without thinking, thinking they know best. Unlike me (I hope), they're too dismissive of other cultures, their lack of environmental awareness is deeply concerning, and we all know 🕯The Claim🕯 is going to be a hideous hotbed of rampant sexism - one that I will gladly watch Aloy tear to pieces like a tasmanian devil with a grudge. I don't think I can pick a single Oseram character I totally relate to, though.

But I do relate to Tom Paech. As soon as I heard those broad antipodean tones swearing about wanting to inflict actual bodily harm on Ted Faro I knew I'd found the scientist I was supposed to identify with. He was hot-blooded, as he put it, whilst also revering nature, the 'miracle of life.' And him wanting to help, despite significant reservations, and then not wanting to live on once the job was done? Exactly how I think I would have reacted. Plus as a marine biologist/ecologist (assuming I'd be in any way qualified!) I'd end up working on ARTEMIS too.

12. character(-s) i hate the most and why: There are characters you are meant to hate. It's fun to have a villain. Ted Faro, Helis, the Ceo... but the hate is both intentional and enjoyable. They're good characters. If I had to pick a character I disliked where this wasn't the aim, however, I'd have to pick... hmm. I'm not sure. Amadis seemed largely pointless and annoying in HFW though. Talanah deserved better.

13. something i've learned from the fandom: Before HFW came out, I hadn't been involved in any fandom for about a decade (maybe longer, eek!) - I was a solitary creature. Coming back made me rediscover the joy of sharing my obsessions with others. Also that it doesn't matter how small your contribution is, someone will enjoy it.

15. a song i strongly associate with my otp/favourite character: I don't, really. Bit weird, considering how much of my life involves music, and how readily my brain seems to play musical association with images. But I can't think of a single one. Sorry 😕
