I’ve seen a lot of different posts going around all saying basically the same thing: “I know Biden isn’t great/you’re first pick/who you wanted/etc, but Trump is the real enemy and we need him out so now’s not the time to be disappointed vote blue no matter who!” There’s so many that I’ve seen at least one every single day since Bernie suspended his campaign (and before that too, tbh).
So let me preface this post by saying this: I will be voting for Biden in November. I will be voting, in both the primary and general elections, for democrats.
However, I wanted to make a post because I need to be allowed to be disappointed. I need people to realize that they are allowed to be disappointed. You are allowed to be disappointed.  And you don’t have to follow your expression of disappointment with “but I am voting for Biden-” because being disappointed that Biden is the nominee doesn’t mean you won’t vote for him.
We all know Trump is worse. We all know we need to get him out of office. We all know that we have to vote for Biden. All those posts are just telling people what they already know, to do what they’re already going to do.
Yes, there are outliers. People who are refusing to vote for Biden because their pick dropped out. But most of the people reading those posts already know.
I’m not calling anyone out. I don’t want to seem rude either. Sometimes people need to feel a little in control of something when everything around them is falling apart, and making these posts may be their way of going about it, and to that I say I’m glad you found a way to have some control.
But I’m a little tired of being bombarded with posts whose wording makes me feel like other people don’t want to allow me to feel what I need to feel about this election. Yes I will be voting for Biden. But I’ll be doing it in November, and until then I’m allowed to feel disappointed, and so are you.
You don’t need to justify your feelings by reassuring people that you’re going to do what you know you’re going to do. You don’t need to end a post about whatever you’re feeling about this election with “but I’ll vote blue no matter who!”
Sometimes people have a hard time being told over and over and over that “yeah this isn’t great, but Trump is worse [insert all the horrific stuff he’s already done] and if he gets re-elected all of these bad things will happen!”. Sometimes people need to be allowed to have their feelings without people reminding them of awful things that could happen.
There’s a lot going on right now, and I for one don’t need to be reminded of all the terrible things that could happen in the future because there isn’t enough space in my mind for all of it. I know Trump is awful. I know it will only get worse. I know what’s on the line. But sometimes.. 
Sometimes I just need a break.

yes i was speaking because the senate will not be taken by them dems so realistically not much will happen: 
i mean, even best case scenario where Biden wins there’s nothing getting done these next 4 years if the dems don’t have the Senate too. Another 4 years of stalemate and no major progress. this puts the likelihood of more coronavirus relief even less likely. 
the case to get rid of protections for people with pre-existing conditions is being taken to the COURTS. it WILL get struck down. it doesn’t matter whether or not biden is president. like sorry those are the facts????? at best, he can sign an executive order which will not hold much weight. not only can it be challenged, but the congress can literally invalidate it via legislation. 
like why are you acting like biden is going to be the savior of people who are uninsured/people with disabilities??? and, without affordable healthcare that actually covers the poorest and most vulnerable, saying that you can’t be denied coverage doesn’t mean shit when you can’t afford it. like i’ve pretty openly talked about being the caretaker for my dad, who is disabled and homebound, and hey guess what the Obama/Biden administration didn’t offer him coverage either and absolutely left him to rot so i don’t really give a fuck about this Biden praise.

I had a dream; in my dream, I was in the Disney movie of Encanto. I was Mirabel and instead of being sad about not having abilities, I would praise the Lord. This didn’t sit well with the rest of the family (Antonio being the exception) and the Abuela screamed at me for believing in nonsense. I stood my ground on believing in Jesus and abuela shape shifted into a large dragon to try and intimidate me, but I stood my ground until my body made me “wake” up to a new scene. I was fighting the Devil from freezing me in my bed. The only thing he allowed me to do was sing and when I would sing praise songs to Jesus, it made him scream and try to freeze me faster. I kept praying and praising the Lord until the Devil let me go. When I became free, my mind jumped “awake” to my mom and sister asking me if I slept all right to which I told them about the two dreams. Mom and Nancy nodded and said that I probably did see something. My sister’s dogs and my cat came to comfort me from the experience and I “woke” up again, but this time I heard the Lord’s voice telling me to pick whatever chair He would show me. I declined all of them except the obstetrician’s exam chair. Before He told me to sit, I went into the living room and saw debauchery. One of my uncle’s aides had invited her friends to party which my uncle (who currently has stage 4 cancer) happily joined. The thing was my actual uncle was in front of me asking me why he hasn’t gone yet. I tell him that the Lord isn’t going to take him home because of his love of money. He started crying as he begged to go home, but the Lord spoke through me and told him that his family is waiting for him, but he refuses to let his sin go. I turn back to my chair and the Lord tells me to start pedaling. When I put the lens piece on my face, there are thousands of country and time period names. The Lord tells me to pick my birth and birth place, to which I agree. When I arrive, my mom and sister are there again and I see my phone’s notifications going off about things happening on earth. Elon Musk goes to mars, Putin sends out a nuke, the Biden admin beg for help, and so many other things that became jumbled that I couldn’t keep up. Then I woke up for real this time. All I will say is this; if you don’t know Jesus as our Lord and Savior and do not have a relationship with Him, I encourage you to try and meet Him before it is too late. He loves us all so much and wants to be part of our lives. Being part of this selfish world will only drag you down. The happiness in this world is fabricated and shallow, but the happiness and joy the Heavenly Father brings is eternal and peaceful! ❤️
In Jesus, we are made whole, and by His stripes we are healed. Amen ❤️

I suggest setting the playback speed to 2X and watching the entire video in about 15 minutes. Regardless of how true they are (and a lot of them just aren’t true btw) conspiracies are fascinating to study. I watched this video expecting to be entertained and maybe find a nugget of truth here and there, but was surprised by how much of the “Illuminati Plan” she described in 2013 seems to have already played out in 2021. A few details seem off here and there of course. But, some are eerily accurate, such as the airborne bio weapon that targets people’s lungs. It sounds like a good candidate for “next pandemic” that Bill and Melinda plan to unleash upon the unsuspecting masses, if it hasn’t been tested on us already. These are just my thoughts; please see for yourself and come up with your own ideas. It’s a fun mental exercise. (No sarcasm).
Remember that iconic line from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie? When Barbosa said, “You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. Because now you're in one.” Replace ‘ghost stories’ with conspiracies. It couldn’t be more obvious.
But if you are hellbent on willful ignorance; if Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel, Don Lemon, and Joe Biden are your true lords and saviors, and you wouldn’t dare commit a thoughtcrime by daring to entertain an alternative perspective. Well, good luck. You’re going to need a lot of it.

So this doesn’t really matter one way or the other, but.
I watched a bit of Biden’s inaugural address, and he uses the phrase “distinguished guests” instead of “ladies and gentlemen” (even though the announcer kept using “ladies and gentlemen”).
Like, I’m not saying he’s our savior or anything. I will be writing to him this coming week to express my displeasure at his varying policy on student loans and will continue to pressure him as necessary to do what’s right. But it feels like a tiny step in the right direction to have a president who’s chosen to have an ASL interpreter at his speeches and to use nongendered forms of address at what will arguably be the most important speech of his career.

Are Jews or Christians being Raptured?
Ok, everyone is trying to say this all has a 'Jewish' connection, in my view it's not.  We are in the Church Age, the Gentile Age, Jews rejected Christ, So the gentiles were given the blessing of Jesus Christ.  We don't follow Jewish holidays, so I know the Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah sounds like a fit, but why would God use a Jewish holiday to Rapture His Beloved, CHRISTIANS, Jews for the most part don't believe, So why would God give the Jewish holidays any credit if a Rapture happened on any?  Did not Christ fulfill the 1st 4 feasts/Jewish holidays when he came to earth, so why isn't it logical he'll fulfill the last 3 feasts on his 2nd return?   What good will it do for a Rapture to happen on a fall or Jewish feast, when it doesn't pertain to Jews or that Jews even recognize the Rapture, let alone JESUS in the first place,, just not common sense. I believe God is pretty plan, just too many want to work it out for God in their own ways, like now it's the calendar that's wrong, really???  Come on man, even Joe Biden doesn't buy that, ha.. but then again he's a demonic sell out so there ya go,,, Sorry just had to throw that one in there, ha ha... Rapture is gonna happen and very soon, but it won't be for the Jews sake, but us who are Born Again Christians!  Jews had their chance, they totally messed up and it's why they have to go thru the Tribulation period, other then those Jews who are Messianic/Christians now....  It doesn't matter if Israel is in fall or it's barley is 20% late or what ever crazy reason, WE Aren't Jews who waiting for the Rapture, but Born Again Christians, it's for us, who are anxiously waiting upon our beloved Savior... Yeah it's really this simple!   Rapture is Imminent, Maranatha Jesus !

The word of God tells us we shall suffer for the cause of Christ, he who seeks a greater reward must attain a greater faith. Unto whom much is given that much more is required. There are people who were working 3 jobs before, and after this pandemic became a global concern who know what is on the horizon. You don't need an Issachar spirit to discern the times; read the Bible. He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time? The gov't has pulled back on unemployment benefits forcing many to find a job. The 2 righteous servants in the parable of the 3 servants increased the wealth of their employer who trusted 3 men with different amounts of talents [money], and the 1 who didn't work diligently for his master inherited weeping, and gnashing of teeth. God invested in us, and He expected a greater return from this major investment. Jesus was the greatest financial venture ever made. The Father placed His faith in His Son who in turn gave Him many more sons that walk amongst us waiting for the Day of Judgment. This investment which supersedes all, but are intertwined will never decrease, and forever increase. The 144,000 isn't a spiritually inspired interpretation based on mine, and Mima getting the Holy Ghost or having an encounter with the Holy Spirit to speak in tongues. Sit down grandma, your Depends are leaking brown stuff that reeks of formaldehyde, and raw chitlins. God is looking for a righteous Nation to worship Him not themselves. These men, and boys who represent the 12 tribes of Israel have never been defiled by women, and hopefully not by men either. God shall supply all your needs, but faith without works is dead. The ant has the intuition to work throughout the Summer knowing that Winter is coming. A lot of these drones won't live to see the finished product. Ant mounds look like the Pyramids of Giza that secure the Queen, but where is the King? They serve the one who gives life that sustains the colony, she is their goddess, but what happens if the Queen dies? There's more than one Queen serving the colony who can breed an entire colony independent of one other. fulfilling their role while working together in unison with the others who all serve a greater purpose. Intel has so far proceeded via containment, and you don't create containment by creating martyrs.
Yes, Intel could respond to that by shutting down the internet and preventing my readers from continuing my site or reposting my papers anywhere. But that would require complete tyranny, a step they have so far hoped to avoid. Under such a system, they wouldn't need to fake protests at the Capitol, would they? They wouldn't need to manufacture compliance with such theater, since they could just force people to comply. The Capitol event was allegedly in response to an election, remember, and in a real tyranny you don't have elections or candidates, do you? So it would appear the controllers still prefer to maintain a semblance of democracy and freedom, for reasons I have previously explained. For one thing, turning the US into a slave colony in the year 2022 would be the height of foolishness, since how much real work are you going to be able to get out of a nation of fat, weak morons. Most Americans wouldn't last five minutes driven by a whip. You will say that is why they are exterminating us with deadly vaccines, but that doesn't work, either, because the governors actually LIKE high populations. China is now paying couples to have children, after decades of one- child policies. Why? Because wealth is generated by high populations and growth. The US is still a growth economy, you know, and you can't get growth by exterminating populations. We have been compared to cattle, and a rancher wants as many cattle as possible. More cattle=more wealth. A cattle rancher isn't going to become richer by exterminating his cattle and dumping them in a ditch.
Does this mean I think the vaccine deaths are fake? No, but they aren't fully intended, either. I assume Big Pharma sees them as collateral damage to the big profits they are taking. They aren't exterminating us, but if some of us die, they don't really give a damn. Even if the number is currently 50,000, as some are saying, that isn't an extermination or even a culling in a population of 330 million. It is murder, and should be prosecuted as such, but it doesn't even signify as population control.
Which is all to say that neither the US nor China wants to become more overtly tyrannical. As I have said many times, the US should be reverting to a 1950s model, where trust in government was very high. In which case everything they are doing now is counterproductive. The current models are a disaster for long-term governance. Which is why I don't think Intel has any plans to make a martyr out of me or to fake my death. What they need to do is put the general population back to sleep, and that won't be done with more tyranny. It will be done in the short term with a red-state savior like Ron DeSantis, and some new fake move to conservatism, as with Reagan. Before they reverse you into 1950, they have to reverse you into 1980.
Notice how much the current playbook resembles the Carter-to-Reagan playbook, except that it is now on steroids. Everything now has to be ten times as noisy, to puncture the general stupor. Carter the Democrat made a huge mess of everything (I now think on purpose) and Reagan the Republican rode in to save the day, reinvigorating the Republican Party for 12 years. In that playbook, the Republican
Party was sold heavily as the party of the middle class and even the poor, with downtrodden farmers supporting Reagan, and Southerners, and even minorities. Given hindsight, it now looks like a big joke, but it worked. The entire country was moved hard right, and that move was so successful and so permanent not even Bill Clinton could move it back. He didn't even try, running as a moderate or “conservative” Democrat, remember? The Republican party had moved so far right the Democratic party had to follow it right, and the country has never moved back. You will say Obama was a lefty, but he wasn't. The country had moved so far right by his time that he was actually to the right of Nixon. Obama admitted it. But that still wasn't enough for the Phoenicians, who wanted to move the country further right after Obama. In part, Trump achieved that, but it still wasn't enough. Like Nixon before him, Trump balked at some of his instructions and had to be taken down. So Biden was brought in as Carter-on-laughing gas, to decimate what was left of the left. The American left has been re- crafted once again as a minority of over-educated but clueless ninnies loudly espousing all the most unpopular talking points of modern academia. In a planned fail, all the strangest, least charismatic, and least attractive people have been hired from the furthest reaches of academia and combined with the dregs of Intelligence expressly to call out your “ick” response. The lowest basements of Langley have been dredged for the palest and most wide-eyed on their worst hair days and parked on TV or the internet, told to play it up for all it is worth. All to draw your hate.
So you see, they plan to move you right not with overt tyranny. The overt tyranny will appear to end when DeSantis or whoever rides in to save the day and the country returns to a Trump or Bush level of normalcy. As usual, they are moving you right mainly by tricks. They make the left so unappealing you want to be as far as possible away from those people there. By sliding the scale beneath you, they will eventually have you right where they want you. Like Mike Adams or Alex Jones or one of those people, you will be a revolutionary claiming to be a conservative. Your answer to tyranny will be to move further right. Since tyranny is as far right as you can go, that answer doesn't make any sense. Like everyone else yapping right now, you will be a walking talking contradiction.

i swear the only thing the twins talk about lately is that they are vegan. like I respect if someone is vegetarian, vegan or eats meat whatever but it become a weird obsession that a lot of people aren’t interested in. I used to like their pod when they talked about music and stories and stuff but now it’s really not it :(
Oh my god. Okay.
I’m not sure if this is the same anon who always sends me something when twins talk about veganism on THEIR podcast, or if there’s more than one, but I really don’t know wtf any of you want me to say to this. I feel like you just want to start shit and so I usually ignore it but I’ll finally give in to it this one time.
Let’s get the obvious wtf factor out of the way — I’m vegan and I have been for over six years. That’s not a secret and if you took the time to send me this ask, then you definitely know it bc it’s literally in my bio. Im never going to shit on them for talking about it; I love it. I think it’s awesome that the twins use THEIR podcast to talk about it. It’s something they’re also passionate about, and they’re more than entitled to make it a focal point of topics that they want to showcase on THEIR podcast.
Whether you like the comparison or not, the twins are going through a transition very similar to that of Logan Paul’s when he started his podcast. They’re moving away from childish bs and making career moves into discussing things that interest and motivate them as adults. They’ve made it abundantly clear that the podcast is the new direction of their content, and they’ve explicitly listed topics that they want to focus on, veganism being one of them. If you have such a problem with accepting that, then no one is making you watch or listen to it. There are literally millions of other podcasts taking about the things you say you want to hear.
Which also brings up a couple of points that really irritate me about this. One being, not every episode has been about veganism and not every episode will be about it. Literally all you have to do is not listen to the episodes that it is a main topic of. It’s really that easy. Way easier than forcing yourself to listen to it just so you can come on here and act butthurt about it, I promise.
The other — if your whole takeaway from this episode in particular was that you’re annoyed they talked about veganism, might I suggest you get your head out of your ass and re-listen to it. How is that your issue when they discussed much more serious topics like toxic masculinity and systemic misogyny, especially in western armed forces; the realities for women living it truly patriarchal societies in which they can be raped and have the child from that rape given to the rapist’s parents, not be allowed jobs, etc; the ruthless poaching of endangered species? While veganism was a focal point, it wasn’t the only one and they said in the first minute of the show that it would come up. So you definitely could have peaced out, or taken the vegan comments with a grain of salt. That’s what I do when they spout off Joe Biden stuff like he’s god’s savior sent to America.
My closing statement is as follows: stop watching or listening to their podcast if you can’t keep an open mind about the fact that not everything the twins are interested in or passionate about is something you will be too. They’re grown ass men living their best lives and making the content they want.

Summary of my first term of my Ph.D. at Stanford during a global pandemic and an extremely controversial election year (Anthropology, yr. 1, she/they, 25y/o) with some toggl data analysis

Well this year was a doozy if I don’t say so myself. But we survived it, and its okay if that’s all you were able to do this year because that’s enough.  As an offical 18th grader, I feel like I can speak pretty well to the toxicity of the academic environment. There is always a pressure to be working all of the time, people compete with each other with how few hours of sleep they got, every conversation with fellow students is just listing off all of the different assignemnts you have to do by the end of the week. On top of all of this, this is 2020. So, I decided that this year I’m going to give myself some mental slack. 
I decided that this is the year that I’m not going to try to impress anyone. I’m just going to survive and do what I have to do to move onto the next term. I think I did a pretty good job at that for the first term, so I’ll share a bit about what I observed in myself and those in my cohort. Coming into term one having to choose classes, many of my peers were packing their schedules full of 5 Unit seminars. For those who don’t know, theoretically, a 5 Unit course is supposed to take about 5-6 hours of work outside of class hours. For Stanford Anthropology, most PhD students take as close as they can to 18 credits, and anything over that you have to pay extra for the courses. Taking more courses doesn’t really put you any further ahead in terms of completing your degree, and you’re expected to complete about 45 Units each year for the first two years of the program. 
I decided to take 2 seminars (typical), a language course, and a couple filler credits that we are given the option to use if we need 1-3 units to hit 18 total. I,  fortunately, tracked every hour spent outside of the classroom working on each course using toggl (i highly reccomend):

In a typical week, I spent about 5-6 hours/week outside of class on my Anthro seminars, and about 6-7 hours on Japanese. Japanese was a “for-fun” class so I would usually study more of that when I didn’t feel like reading dense archaeological theory. 
Toggl was a really cool way to see where I was spending too much, or not enough, time on my classwork. If it was taking me more than 1.5 hours to get through a single article, I knew I was probably spending too much time on it and should move on to the next thing. My goal for the term was to stay true to the 5 Unit idea of 5-6 hours, and not over-work myself. 
Toggl was also useful in tracking my mental health throughout the term, as it is very obvious to see when I just was not physically capable of ingesting 400 pages of reading. For example, election week:

Election week was really hard for me, and everyone else in the world honestly. I had various family things I was dealing with, typical existential dread, plus it was week 8-ish of the term when everything was already on fire in terms of workload. For one of my seminars (purple), we had to read a book for the following week which I was able to do the sundar after election day. However, for the days leading up to and surrounding the 4th, the only thing I could mentally handle was mindless Japanese vocab studying. One of my seminars really sufferend this week, and I straight up just didnt show up to the smaller Anth 310G class because I had only read the title of the pdf. Fortunately, I emailed my professor of my Theory class and was like “yo dude I cannot” and he replied that he understood and wouldnt call on me during that day of class. 
I didn’t do a whole lot of journalling at all this term, but for this week I just wrote “pain” on most days and then YAY BIDEN at the end of it.

Above is what a typical week looked like, some were a lot lot lot more dense, others not so much, but this was pretty average. Not all things on the calendar are work related, some are extra lectures from visiting professors that sounded interesting, or “Free Boba & Snacks Pick Up” put on by my residence. Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday were my big work days last term, where I didn’t have a whole lot of classes so I would do most of my reading then. On Tues and Thurs I had one 3-hour seminar, and M-F I had a 50 min Japanese class. 
I woke up every day around 7am-ish, made a green tea, and sat at the computer to work, filter through emails, etc. On particularily open days I would go grocery shopping, go for bike rides/walks around campus, go buy food/boba. 
On class-heavy days, I wouldn’t leave my computer for 8-12 hours, which is extremely ridiculous but that’s the new norm in school in 2020. This kind of stunk because all of the socializing was also on the computer, so even if I wasn’t working I was doing screen related things. 
EVERY day I stopped working at 6pm. Rarely did I do readings past 6pm unless I was really slacking somewhere. From 6pm onwards I would do things like play Among Us or League of Legends with my discord friends, eat, watch movies with my partner, etc. And then most nights I would try to be in bed by 12am at the latest. 
Social Life
Despite the online nature of things this term, I was suprisingly able to meet a lot of great people on campus. We were all being tested at least once a week, which made in person gatherings with 1-4 people a little less scary, especially when half of the people lived together in one household. 
In the first week of school, some of the grad programs put on a “speed friending” zoom event, where I was able to connect with two people really well. We ended up doing a “slow-friending” zoom event afterwards and then created a FB group chat and added all of the people we had met into it. The group ended up being about 15 people, and we would message the group for park hangouts, going to get food, or going on walks on campus. We also had a huge get together in a park for Mid-Autumn Festival, where we sat in a socially distanced circle, chatted, and ate mooncakes. 
Most of my socializing came from my online friends, and amongus was a huge savior to my mental health this term wher emy group would play literally every night. I also made a really good friend off of Bumble BFF this term, who I’ve hung out with a good amount for plant shopping and board games. 
I’m very fortunate to be in a situation where I can get tested for COVID on a days notice, and very grateful that I could use that to stay a little sane.  My Biggest Accomplishment this term, was not school related. but instead I hit my 365 DAY STREAK on duolingo. This was celebrated with cake. This streak has lived through literal hell and for that I am very proud.

Overall reflection:
This term was super rough, there were a lot of days where I just napped through it and a lot of days where I couldn’t bring myself to do any work. However, I think the courseload that I took was very manageable and I’m going to continue to go light on myself in that regard. 
I really liked the boundaries that I set for myself this term, not working after 6pm and making time to do some fun things in the midst of chaos. I never felt like I was too far behind on work, or that I wasn’t doing enough, because I had a literal reminder in front of me that I had already put x amount of hours into something with toggl. 
Sometimes in class I would feel like I didn’t know how to productively contribute to conversation, but I think thats a skill that will get better over time and not being so great at it should especially be expected in the first term of a program.
Socially I met a lot of wonderful people who also made me feel more comfortable will myself. I started using She/They pronouns which feel really comforting to me. I made a lot of little origami cranes every time I was feeling sad. I drank a lot of boba. Watched a lot of She Ra. Played a lot of games. It all ended up being okay despite the weight of everything around me.

I’m proud of all of you for making it through this year, I know it was really difficult for a lot of people in more ways than it was for me, but we’re still here! Black people don't care about Superman but making him Black in the next series of films, isn't going to solve that the problem. It's his upbringing, the cultural touchstones which define him. Clark Kent is intrinsically White. He looks White, definitely, but he was raised in Kansas, too. That's a Heartland State, places notorious for their aggressive intolerance and laughably disproportionate ethnic breakdown. Eighty-four percent of the people who live there are White and, while that's a stark cry from, say, Idaho's Ninety percent, only five percent of the populace is Black. How the f*ck can Clark BE full-on Black; ethnically, mentally, and culturally, when he's surrounded by so much White?

The short answer is that he can't. He doesn't have those values or experiences. How can he? He'd be part of five percent in two million. What is that? One hundred thousand, spread out across an entire state? I mean, at that point, he's more Kansas than he is Black so what does "fighting for truth, justice, in the American way" mean to someone from Kansas? A State as Red as a baboon's ass? A State where Trump won fifty-seven percent of the vote in both 2016 and 2020? A State that seems to support the same people that refuse to accept Joe Biden won that race, even after several recounts on their terms, several court cases lost to their judges, and a whole ass attempt to overthrow the government because they didn't like all those L's piling up? Never mind the question of raising a demigod with those incredibly problematic "values", how can a Black person come up in that level of racial animosity, cultural alienation, and abject disdain based solely on how he looks, possibly be all of America's Superman?

At the end of the day, JJabarams wanting to make Clark a Black man in this next run of films, is just a tone deaf, performative, dog whistle for all the little Blue Checkmark, fake woke, twatter asshole to fellate themselves over. I don't know a single Black person who is gassed that Clark will look like us. Dude basically represents everything wrong with America, to us. Clark is an out-of-touch White guy, born with unheard of power he didn't earn, imbued with a f*cked up savior complex, raised on a steady supply of zealous Patriotic ideals which borders on straight up Nationalism, in the cultural vacuum of Smallville, Kansas. Turning him Black without fixing that origin is tantamount to throwing Blackface on some White actor to play T'Challa instead of casting Chadwick Boseman. Imagine how THAT should would have gone over with the Blacks. Exactly.

You can't separate Clark from his cultural identity as the Whitest motherf*cker not from this Earth. You can't. It literally defines his entire worldview. Clark's Whiteness is intrinsic to who he is as a person. However, there are alternatives to that which ring truer to a Black Superman, to the Black experience, one of which has a dope ass backstory. Val-Zod, son of THAT Zod, took up the mantle of Superman in nu52 Earth-2. That version of the character could work because his race is intrinsic to his character on both sides; The Kryptonian and the Earthling. He is vague enough of a character to play around with content wise but recognizable enough for literally everyone to not lose their sh*t over Blackfacing Clark. Another lesser known option, the one i would personally pass on, is Kalel of Earth-23. He's a blank slate because no one remembers anything about the dude. Calvin Ellis' last appearance was in 2009 so, you know, have at it, i guess? Both of these options are much better than forcing a White Kent into a Black Peg.

I'm not usually one to be so uppity about bent characters, be they gender or race. They're just another take on an established fandom and i think that's great, as long as that alteration is respected and adapted into the character properly. Superficial sh*t like turning all of the ginger characters into Black people, just because they're going to be onscreen in some form or another, is f*cking ridiculous to me. Sometimes it doesn't work out all that well, like Iris West in the DCEU. Kiersey Clemons had, like, a minute of screentime in The Snyder Cut so why the f*ck was she even in there? I get you need to establish her as part of The Flash's lore but wait for his actual film if that's all we're going to see of her. Other times, it works very well, like with Mary-Jane and Zendaya. That case was a little more tricky as, at the time Homecoming was in development, Marvel didn't have the rights to the Mary-Jane character so they had no choice but to create Michelle. She's a brand new character who fills the role of MJ but in a completely unique, standalone, fashion. I adore that chick. She and Pete have this adorkable energy together, chemistry attributed to Zendaya and Holland. Ms. Coleman really sells MJ as a proper “MJ” and that's because her MJ is her own “MJ”. And, while we're on the topic of Spider-Man, Miles Morales is exactly how you racebend an established character with any hope of success.

Mile Morales is the blue print you need to follow in order to make your ridiculous reach at altering such an established persona, in such a drastic way. Miles is, from top to bottom, Black as f*ck. Every ounce of that character resonates with the culture. Early on in hi genesis, it was a little iffy but, as the character has grown, his swagger and identity has become much clearer. It's more defined and rings truer to what we, as Black people, see in the world. Hell, his movie, Into the Spider-Verse, is arguably the best Spider-Flick ever made and it is properly Black as f*ck. From the swagger, the cultural language, the music, the animation style, the tagging; All of it is too Black for words and the country ate that sh*t up. I saw SO much of US in that film and it really lent itself to giving comic Miles the boost necessary to really come into his own. Not to slight his Puerto Rican heritage at all, you get a bit of that, too, but, for all intents and purposes, society at large sees Miles as Black and Spider-Verse leans into that, heavy. Because Miles has no choice but to so as well. Pete had a lot more going for him growing up in Queens thank Clark's halcyon experience in f*cking Kansas, so he was already accepted in the community. You don't do the numbers Spider-Flicks consistently do at the box office without them Black dollars, but Miles was whole ass embraced by the culture. No one is mad at kid now that he is finally himself in the suit. He's not a legacy, he is a Spider-Man. That's how you do it. That's how you make racebending such an intrinsic character to the American zeitgeist, work. You don't dress Michael B. Jordan up as Clark and tell me he's my Superman. That's a lie and everyone is going to see through it. Everyone already has. You don't need x-ray vision for that.

If you’ve ever watched a loved one make a dumb ass decision and feel hurt knowing that their decision can and will affect the the rest of the family, then you know EXACTLY how I feel when I see Black people going to vote for these LIARS every 4 years!
Some of us were so eager to see Trump leave office that we really didn’t give a 💩 about the fine print!
Already, Biden HAS NOT done 1 thing to improve our plight as a people! He is NOT doing anything to ease student loan debt...NOTHING! He has signed executive orders for Asians as if they’ve been through Rodney King, Mike Brown, and Trayvon Martin situations in this country!
He has completely 💩’d on the Black voter!
What are you waiting for Black voter?
He signed 17 Executive Orders on his 2nd day in office and NONE had to do with Black people!
Now, if you’re in the Black bourgeoisie then your fine 👍🏾, meaning that you have at least $2.5 Million dollars accessible to you RIGHT NOW in your bank account. But me and my people ain’t nowhere in that range! I’m ashamed that we keep falling for the same politricks every 4 years! We must stop looking for a savior and save ourselves!
Sad part is that we have ancestors and elders who have given us the knowledge of how to do it—AND WE STILL DO NOT APPLY IT! And we wonder why some of the smartest ones amongst us sellout! 🤦🏾‍♂️
