It takes two weeks from the first day of school for one of Steve and Eddie's daughters to start raising hell.

(They'd put money on it — two wagers, to be specific: how long it would take, and which kid it would be).

Last year it was Moe, and a month, and Eddie won them both.

This year —

Steve: Robbie — why on Earth would your teacher think we were okay with you bringing the lizard home?

(Needless to say, laundry is on Eddie for the next month).

Robbie: *shrugs*

Robbie: She has a signed permission slip

Steve:

Steve: I didn't sign a permission slip saying you could bring a lizard into the house.

Steve: *looks at Eddie*

Eddie, throwing his hands up in surrender: I didn't either — have a little faith, please, Jesus Christ.

Robbie: I never said you signed it.

Steve: *somewhat speechless because Robbie is only seven so he figured he'd have at least a little more time before she starting committing acts of forgery*

Hazel, somewhat out of the blue: Sometimes when lizards are scared their tails will fall off.

Steve: Okay, jeez, well, let's make sure that doesn't happen, 'kay?

Steve, to Robbie: And this better be the last time I hear about any forgery, punk.

Hot take that shouldn’t be a hot take:

my biggest pet peeve is when people tag something as a x reader but it’s actually an oc…..i got to the last chapter of a fic only for the description of the ‘reader’ to be of a white person.

then the author got nasty with me after i called her out about it but that’s whatever

it takes an extra 2 mins to have a generic description of a person rather then give the details of their appearance but some of y’all are just too lazy to do even that

I just know Darry has a secret college fund set up for Ponyboy stored in a cookie jar. Sodapop probably has one too, hell he probably had one made for Pony even before their parents death because he saw how much it hurt Darry to not go to college and he never want Ponyboy to feel the same. Maybe Two-Bit would help get Ponyboy his first part time job at the movie theater by sweet talking with the manager, basically hyping Ponyboy up. Steve would enlist Ponyboy in helping him work on a piece of junk car and Pony is just confused because he thinks Steve hates him but joins in anyway and they ended up fixing it. Turns out the car they were working on was going to be Ponyboy’s and Pony is just “hmm perhaps Steve does like me”.

But in reality Ponyboy is just stunned near tears as he realized the lengths the gang would go for him

After David tells him that his ex has arrived for Career Day and it’s not even the Wheeler that he asked for, Steve marches over to Mike like, “What are you doing here?”

Wow, David thinks to himself. He’s been told that Steve has some problems with his memory - apparently he compensated for it with a truly insane online calendar - but he didn’t expect him to forget about a whole human being. Just, wow.

Steve loudly tells Mike that he’s never had a real job and Mike scoffs at him and tells him that he wrote for a comic book website for three years. Journalism is just writing with a fancy degree. Will and Mike created a comic book together so, “I’m published.”

“Robin is published,” Steve stresses (Steve’s best friend, David knows that one). “If that was the only qualification I wanted than I would’ve asked Robin to come.”

They start squabbling again in whispered voices so David turns to Dustin and tries to alleviate some of the awkwardness with, “Steve, uh, really has a type, huh?”

Dustin squints at him, “Did you just meet him? Today?”
