stayed up too late reading nona the ninth last night and am having a slightly frazzled morning (ie don’t have my usual hour plus of lounge time before getting ready) but it was so worth it… can’t wait to finish it today but also I never want it to be over aaaaaaaaa. ok here’s the day:

7:15-8:15 shower, get ready, breakfast, see if I can scrounge up some kind of leftovers lunch, ummm take the dogs out one more time

8:15-8:45ish drive to work

9-10 KB coffee mtg

10-11 EL student dev mtg

11-12 CV student success mtg

12-1 JG makerspace mtg

1-2 blissful break in which I must consolidate my thoughts on all of the above meetings to prepare an update for my boss also don't forget to update my July priorities list

2-3 CB mtg

3-3:30ish email our candidate back and take care of any remaining emails in my office but I have permission to GTFO afterwards as I will be completely braindead from meetings lol

evening: short walk with dogs 🫠 then write & mail liz bday letter then read till bed

not done chatting about this bc i’m seeing some braindead takes on twt about ange not integrating the youth into the side. ange is obviously not immune to criticism but that’s just a blatant lie. he plays people like destiny and pape every week despite them being young and also never having played in the pl before (or not consistently anyway).

the difference is a) the two of them have had first team minutes before whereas players like dorrington have not even been on loan and b) you’ve got to be careful with the way you manage an 18 year old’s minutes. throwing them into a deeply physical pl match when 5-6 starters are ALREADY MISSING and we’re barely hanging onto the lead is a recipe for disaster when it comes to their confidence. it’s also difficult to sub cbs and they’re both cbs!!! ange clearly does trust and rate the youth otherwise they wouldn’t be on the bench. for example he’s given jamie donley minutes which is easier since he plays in attack.

like be patient and no matter how highly rated the kids are, we don’t want to fuck up their development and they also are not the god given answers to our injury and suspension problems.
