SUMMARY: in which lando finally comes to his senses after seeing pictures of ferrari's golden boy and you. lando had been in the worst mood all week after seeing photos on twitter of charles and you leaving a hotel in brazil, just last week. what makes matters worse was that you weren't answering any of his messages or calls and you hadn't stopped by to visit him like you usually did.

he kept looking at the picture of you on his lock screen of you smiling with a burger in your hand — he had planned to take you out to a fancy restaurant but forgot to make reservations so you guys ended up in a burger king parking lot, eating french fries and greasy burgers.

"this is like a date..." you had said as you shoved a french fry in his mouth.

he shook his head and finished chewing. "not a date, trust me i'd go all out for our first date."

that had been the very beginning of your relationship.

the two of you had started off as good friends — he had followed you on instagram after seeing a post of you modeling in lingerie for victoria's secret and just a few hours after you had followed him back.

a few months of talking nonstop, he had taken a serious liking in you so after a race he decided to hang around with daniel and he ended up showing him your photos.

"man if you don't fly her out for our next race, best believe i will." he had said as he continued scrolling through your photos. "how the hell did you pull her? if i wa-"

lando rolled his eyes and snatched his phone back from him. "first of all, you're so old you wouldn't even know what to do with all that."

two days later he had flew you to texas where lando spent most of the time showing you some cool places. he had invited you to stay in his hotel room and you gladly said yes since the two of you were friends but with all of lando's flirting he was finally able to pass the friendship stage.

after he had taken you to an amusement park, he had taken you to an empty parking lot where you guys found yourselves in the backseat of his mclaren — he had the top of your dress half off and his pants was unbuckled. "trust me when it does happens..." he mumbled in between kisses as he had two of his fingers deep inside you. "i'm going to rock your world."

a month later when the time came of lando “rocking your world” he had struggled to find a condom in his room while you were there laying completely naked, wrapped up in his blanket.

he went through every drawer he had but nothing. "i mean are you sleeping with anyone else?" he asked and you shook your head no.

"are you?"

"no, just you as of right now..."

"you don't have any diseases do you?" you now asked him and he shook his head.

the both of you stared at each other for a few seconds before he jumped into his bed and began roughly kissing you — he put the work in for a few minutes before busting a load right into you.

"that's never happened before..." he mumbled. "i swear i can last longer than that!"

“c’mon lando, i thought you said you were going to rock my world.” you giggled as he slid out of you. “pretty sure it’ll take longer than three minutes.”

“c’mon baby stop making jokes.” he whined as he hid into the crook of your neck. “give me a few minutes and this time i will.”

the both of you had considered yourselves as casual fuck buddies those first few months so whenever the both of you were coincidentally in the same town he was giving it to you raw since you were the only one he was being sexually active with.

“fuck you’re so wet…” he moaned into your ear as he thrusted up into you. "you feel that? it’s all for you, so hard just for you."

it was going good but then you started questioning the whole thing, making him also question if he was truly ready for a serious relationship with you.

"i just want to know if this will ever be serious..." you had asked him as you slid on one of his shirts and sat back down on his bed. "i mean its been a year already of doing whatever this is."

"i like what we have why ruin it?"

for months he was able to creep around that same question — until last week after you found out that he went to the club, which was fine you were able to go out also but he had a certain girl around him all night that wasn't you. by the next morning twitter had posted the pictures with this girl on his lap, kissing and hugging him.

when you went to go visit him later that morning he had a hickey on his neck that he supposedly didn't even know he had. "i was drunk but i swear nothing happened!"

he was lying and he truly felt bad for what he had done, you out of all people definitely didn't deserve that. he had tried to get close to you multiple times but you kept backing away from him.

you weren't dumb, you knew that he definitely hooked up with the girl.

after going back and forth you had began crying out of frustration. you wiped your tears with the ends of your sweater. "i mean i don't know, i thought i was the only one..."

"you are, y-"

he then received a call from oscar making him remember he had to go to the paddock for media day. "fuck, i have to go but please just wait for me here and i'll make it up to you."

you sighed as you grabbed your phone from his bed and stood up. "i'm actually meeting with someone later so i have to go but i don't know if i want to work this out this time."

unfortunately for him the conversation couldn't continue because he had started getting messages and missed calls so after his interviews he tried texting you whenever he could but you never replied, just leaving him on read.

he knew you probably needed some cooling down so he left it as is.

"i honestly think you fumbled..." max butted into the conversation lando was having with the group. "let it be known that before you y/n and charles had a little fling going on."

charles choked on the water he was drinking and glared at max.

"woah hold on, you and y/n?" lando asked charles as sat up straight. "has she texted you since we started talking?"

he cleared his throat as max smiled at him, already knowing the truth to that question. "um well it wasn't really anything too serious and we haven't talk-"

"but there was that time they hun-" max butted in again and earned an elbow to the arm from charles.

"there was a time that we hung out after some argument you guys had about you and your ex talking but nothing happened."

lando tensed up after that he remembered that fight, you had left his house that day and didn’t talk to him for a whole week. he made sure to send you flowers and gifts throughout that week as an apology.

he knew he had no right to be jealous of you hanging out with charles. you were obviously allowed to have friends and hang out with whoever you wanted but he now understood how you felt when he would talk to his ex girlfriend.

"she made me cookies once, i love her!" daniel then announced as he looked up from his phone. "and i think you love her too but you're scared of telling her that, why is that?"

"i'm not scared it's just cause she makes me nervous, she makes me feel things that i don't want to be feeling."

"like?"

at this point lando knew he had strong feelings for you too, except his feelings might've been a little different than yours so maybe that's why he did what he did.

lando groaned before putting his head down into his hands. "well maybe because i love her and i feel like i could may- potentially marry her or something along those lines." he quickly muttered out. "i hate these stupid feelings."

daniel smirked and patted his back. "there you go buddy."

now he had finally realized why he was scared of commitment because you made him really think about his future with you, his whole life he wanted to be a formula one racer and he knew that getting married and creating a family was supposed to be for after but you made him change his mind about that.

that had been a week ago and since then lando was pissed.

"yes it was wrong for charles saying it was nothing serious and later that day bringing her to his hotel room but i mean she did tell you she didn't want to work it out anymore." max told him over the phone. "just let her go man."

max saw the way lando looked at you with hearts in his eyes whenever you were around but he also knew you were starting to get inside of lando's head, he was no longer thinking of his career the way he used to because of you.

"you're only saying that because you don't like her..." lando said as he sat himself on the couch and hugged on a blanket that you had gifted him for when he traveled. "if it was luisa, you would've told me to get her back."

"i do like her but i just feel like this is all happening so fast."

he continued to listen to max's rant as he went to go open the door after hearing someone knocking.

"just a few weeks ago you were just hooking up with her and now it's you're in love with her."

"umm max, i'll call you later."

before max could even register his words, lando had already hung up and was now looking at you standing in front of his door.

the both of you hadn't spoken for almost two whole weeks and now here you were — your hair was perfectly curled, you had on his sweatpants that he left at your place awhile back and a hoodie on.

"you look beautiful..." he mumbled as he opened the door wider for you.

and instead of going right in, you wrapped your arms around him and he immediately wrapped his around your waist. "stop lying, i look homeless."

he chuckled before hugging you even harder. "even so, you still look beautiful."

you softly pinched his back at his joke and after you guys ended up in his living room, he held onto your hand not wanting to ask you about charles because he didn't want to risk that possibility of losing you to him.

but he had to.

"i saw the pictures with charles in brazil, did you..."

the truth was that you had gone to charles's hotel room because he wanted to talk to you about lando and at the moment you didn't so you had kissed him — charles kissed you back but before it could have gotten any further he stopped it and rested his forhead onto yours.

"are you and lando over?" he asked you.

you shrugged your shoulders. "i think so."

charles had grown to love you in the short time of knowing you but he knew you always went to him to get back at lando in a way.

"you know he loves you right?" he sat up and sighed. "daniel was able to get it out of him."

when you didn't say anything, he knew you what you wanted in this moment. "go, i'm sure he's probably waiting for you."

yet, you didn't go and instead you kissed him again.

"if he did love me, he wouldn't have done what he did." you whispered.

charles knew that he shouldn't let it get any further since he knew you were most likely going to go back to lando after all of this and it'll leave him heartbroken once again but if he could have you for just this short time, he'd take it.

"no of course not." you told lando and he sighed before hugging you.

"promise?"

you nodded. "i promise that's all that happened."

lando wasn't dumb, he knew that you had definitely hooked up with charles.

he just wasn't going to say anything about it.

before the both of you knew it, lando was once again inside of you — one arm on the side of your head and the other on your waist, his hips moving in hard thrusts.

"i love you, you know that right?"

you moaned out a little yes. "i love you too, so much..."

"i'm going to marry you, i swear and give you babies..." you nodded along as he continued to thrust into you. "we're going to be together forever."

you nodded knowing his words were true while creaming around him and he pushed into you with a final groan. "forever."

I cant do this anymore - George Russell x Wolff! Reader Part 5

Plot: You are the daughter of Toto Wolff team principle of Mercedes-AMG Petronas, you've worked your whole life to become an engineer. However, your dad has other ideas for you and doesn't want you to become a race engineer. You start to confide more in the Red Bull Racing Team Principle to help you get an engineering job, and see him as your present father figure.

There was a pretty decent break between Brazil and Las Vegas, you spend the first week with Geri and Christian and their kids. You'd had a blast riding their horses, going for bike rides and lots of baking.

They of course let you stay with them in the spare bedroom, you went on a massive shopping spree with Geri getting some new clothes as you hadn't gone home and talked about everything you normally would with Suzie. You couldn't lie, you really missed her, especially the hugs she gave you.

However on the weekend before Vegas, Lewis had texted you seeing if you'd wanted to stay with him in Las Vegas for a bit. Lewis had known you since 2009, you were 9 years old. You always came to as many race weekends as you could, obsessed with F1 as much as your dad. You loved the fast cars and the smell of the fuel.

Here was were you were introduced to Suzie, it was perfect time really. You were a 9 year old girl, about to enter here teen years without a mother figure. And Suzie and you, got on like two peas in a pod.

In 2012 when he became the executive director in Williams you travelled with him. Your mum didn't want anything to do with you, so that left you to be home school. It wasn't easy in Williams, they were tight on money and resources despite Toto's financial contributions to the team and no-body had time for you it seemed.

The next year when your dad moved to Mercedes, that had a slightly bigger budget and more time around the paddock was when it became easier.

The engineers helped you with your math's and science while marketing and legal would help you with your English. That's where your love of engineering came from.

Lewis would often stay with you, he and Nico were like brothers and they couldn't help but see you like a little sister with the relentless teasing they put you through.

As you got older, Toto paid for you to have an online tutor so you could sit your GCSE's at some point. 2016 was probably the worst year you had on record apart from everything that's happened in 2023.

You could tell that when they started to compete for the championship in 2014 that things were getting tense between them, they tried to keep it to themselves but you could tell with the post race interviews and how they didn't want to hang out as much together with you.

But in 2016, when Nico won and their friendship had pretty much crumbled as far as it could you, you were also sitting those GCSE's and it was a really tough year for you. Lewis and Nico now spoke to you separately, their sides of the garage never crossing over like they used to.

So you not only had the stress of your GCSE's, the stress of your two role models no longer talking and with that your own childhood best friend cutting you off because of how much you travelled and your commitments not being strong enough. And to top it of Nico was confirmed to be leaving the sport which would mean you wouldn't see him as often.

However, despite everything that went on you came out with some really good grades, thanks to Lewis and his help when it come to studying.

You actually met George the year after when he became a junior driver for Mercedes. You had just turned 17 and he was 20 and part way working his way up through the feeder series into Formula One.

You actually had a crush on George all the way back then, Lewis convinced you it was just a silly little school girl crush you'd soon get over and motorsport men were a walking red flag. Which you found out was true with your first heartbreak when you dated an F2 driver that was the same age as you. You dad of course was hesitant at first, and he was right to be. He cheated on you with one of the insta models 7 months into your relationship.

Lewis did a lot for you and you guys were close, so you almost felt like you couldn't say no even though you didn't want to anyway.

You got the first flight you could out to his LA mansion.

"Hello" he greeted you as you'd found him in the airport with his security. There was of course Paps so it was only a short amount of time before people knew you were here with Lewis.

He drove the pair of you back to his LA home, you guys spent the rest of the week surfing, go-karting and walking Roscoe. Everyone knew you were here by now so you posted a photo dump on the Wednesday to Instagram, photos of everything you guys had been up to.

Everyone in the comments was so excited that big brother Lewis was back.

"So, I think now that we've had some time to chill out we should talk about the serious matters on the table" Lewis says as he spoons some of the vegan dish his private chef had made you guys.

"Mmmm?" you hum as you gobble more of the delightful food down.

"I miss you in the Mercedes Garage and the red bull top doesn't suit you" he says making your head whip to the side.

"Excuse me!" you nearly choke on your food.

"Look, I know what Toto and George did was foul... and others have made it into this whole dramatic show, but I miss teasing you in the garage and I miss you telling the engineers something was wrong and trying not to laugh! I miss you! Everyone does, George, Toto, Suz, all the hospitality and mechanics and the engineers!" he offers looking at you.

"I'm not coming back to Mercedes Lew, I've found my place in Red Bull, they've even let me help on the 2024 car! My dad turned me down straight away when i asked, they trust me there and they like my ideas! I'll talk to both of them okay, I promise but Red Bull stuck their neck out for me hiring me... so I owe them!" you admit, knowing Red Bull helped you a lot, as much as you'd helped them.

"I know I know, but just talk to them soon. They are both suffering and they regret what they did!"

You drove in Lewis car all the way to Nevada. It was only a 4 hour drive where you guys did make stops along the way. You guy's parted ways as you got there. He needed to be present for media duties and you had to be with Red Bull making sure the car was up to standard.

You checked in with everyone you hadn't seen for the two week gap, checking in with the mechanics making sure they though the car was looking okay after the race.

And before you knew it Max was coming out of FP1 in 4th, FP2 in 6th and FP3 in 4th. It was a new track and everyone was getting used to the it and how the car performed on it. In Practices it was more for the driver to get the feel for the car.

Max qualified P3, but because Carlos had to take a 10 place grid penalty he was moved up to P2. He was on the front line next to Charles Leclerc and if he got a good start he could finish again P1.

Vegas was a stressful race for everyone. Charles and his Ferrari was made for the layout of this street circuit it seemed. Lando had a really bad crash which had everyone worried.

Ferrari, once again fucked up their strategy as you called Max to box when the safety car was released. Charles had only pitted a few laps prior. Now Max and Sergio were on the fresher tires.

"Warm those tires up Max then when DRS is available go for that overtake on Turn 3 for P1" you advise as he rolls out of the pits behind the safety car that Charles was already following.

Eventually you had both Red Bulls in the front ready for a 1-2 podium. But on the final lap Charles went for the overtake on Sergio and broke the Red Bulls up, there was no way he'd catch up with Max but you told him to hold his position.

Again Max Verstappen had one his 18th race of the season and you'd been his race engineer for a whole new track. He'd pulled you into a massive hug, along with Christian who was impressed with how quickly you were adapting to the new role.

"Amazing driver guys! Straight to Abu Dhabi now!" Christian grins, nothing could now ruin his mood. Max had been confirmed Champion of the World a few races back but Red Bull still wanted to prove they were winners.

And that you did, you went to Abu Dhabi and one again by a landslide. You all celebrated the end of the season and Max asked you to come up on the podium with him again. However, George had come P3. so you were up on the Podium with him and Charles too.

The champagne was brought out and all the guys showered each other before coming over to you. They soaked you with the rest of the champagne the dark team gear sticking to your skin.

"Omg" you squeal as someone pulls back your top and dumps some of their champagne down your back. You swivel round to see George. Everything is so loud around you right now. Charles and Max are off celebrating the podium together a little further away from the pair of you now.

"George" you say looking up at him and he sheepishly takes a step back.

"George, no! I'm sorry I didn't speak to you sooner" you say looking at him, only for his head to cock to the side where he couldn't here you.

"What?" he shouts coming closer.

You lean in right up to his ear so that he can actually here you.

"I'm sorry I ignored you for so long. I was being childish. Lewis... Lewis talked some sense into me." you say.

"You-" he starts confused. He was the one that owed you an apology not the other way around.

"Y/N listen to me. Meet me tonight and we will talk about everything I promise!" he shouts making you able to hear him over the crowd.

"Okay!" you nod, before turning around and the Red Bull team all cheer as you hold up the trophy.

"Oh and George, Congrats of P3!" you grin, before joining Max and Charles.

Maybe it was time for you to talk it out. Maybe even to reach out to your dad! Lewis was as always right!

Mile & Apo: It takes two to triumph

IN THE GLITZY REALM OF entertainment, where talent often shines like a beacon, there occasionally emerges a pair of stars whose chemistry transcends the screen. Such is the case with Mile and Apo, two charismatic Thai actors whose TV show KinnPorsche has become a global sensation, watched by millions of viewers from Russia and India, to Poland and Peru.

The two have risen from relative obscurity to become the new ambassadors of Dior, mobbed by teenage girls when they arrived in Mumbai earlier this year to attend a Dior fashion show.

On the surface, the Thai series KinnPorsche seems to have thrown the rulebook of “How to make a hit TV show” out the window. It is a mafia story filled with surly men, bloody gang fights and epic shoot-outs – which, yes, is a mainstay of TV programming. But the radical twist is this: the two main characters are a mafia boss’ son (played by Mile) and his male bodyguard (played by Apo) who – surprise, surprise – fall in love with each other.

In the history of TV, there has never been a hit crime series centred on a gay plot. But when KinnPorsche debuted in April 2022 on Thai TV and global streaming service iQiyi, it almost instantly became the top trending title in neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Soon after, it claimed Europe, finding particular popularity in Poland, Turkey, Italy and France. Then it stormed its way into North and South America, where it was a top trending topic in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia.

No one – not even the cast and producers – thought the show would be this successful. It seems to have fed into some untapped market for female audiences who love action shows, but don’t care to see yet another threateningly perfect actress couple up with their fantasy man.

If you ask any fan what it is about the show that makes them sweat, swoon or quiver with delight, they’ll answer quite simply: Mile and Apo.

Double or nothing

At their photo shoot in Bangkok’s top restaurant Nusara, which overlooks the splendid temple complex Wat Pho, the models-turned-actors are in their element. They tailor their bodies and facial expressions instinctively for the camera, conveying a range of emotions, from sultry and mysterious to bright and playful. The slinky Dior suits, with their clean lines and minimal embellishments, don’t hurt either.

Mile (or Phakphum Romsaithong) and Apo (or Nattawin Wattanagitiphat) recently released their new film Man Suang in cinemas. It is a big-budget political thriller set during the 19th century reign of Rama III, replete with historically authentic sets and costumes.

Apo plays a traditional dancer who is recruited to spy in an elite club and uncover a plot to overthrow the order of the king. Finding a kindred spirit in the club’s taphon drummer (played by Mile), the two team up to stop the underground rebellion.

Speaking with the help of a translator, Mile, 31, explains: “We hope the movie reaches out to a wide audience. We wanted it to have both commercial and critical success, something that could show Thai history and culture to the world, but also be fun and entertaining enough to be a popcorn movie for the masses.”

Both actors note how T-pop (the shorthand for Thai popular entertainment) has been hyped as the next global sensation after K-pop and J-pop, following the massive success of Thai stars such as Lisa Manobal, Bright Vachirawit and Win Opas-iamkajorn.

“And it can happen,” says Apo, 29, also through a translator. “Thai people are very humble, gentle, hardworking and friendly. We can blend into any culture. If anything, Thailand has served as a melting pot for different cultures – just as Singapore has. Our culture can be easily embraced by the world.”

The duo believes that the global audience has transformed in recent times. “They’re now more welcoming of stories from different parts of the world, especially if those stories involve characters going on a journey to discover themselves and make themselves better, stronger, wiser and happier,” says Apo. “That’s why when I look for new projects these days, I look for the ones that carry the messages of self-actualisation.”

Mile concurs, adding: “I’ve always believed in ‘high risk, high return’. KinnPorsche was a risky proposition, because it took a mafia crime genre and placed it in the Boy Love category (a niche genre involving gay romance). But I believed in the project’s potential from the start – even if I never thought it’d become the cultural phenomenon that it is today. Its success has only strengthened my belief in ‘high risk, high return’.”

One-two punch

The road to success has been winding for both actors. Though born with the magnetic allure of leading men, they’ve had to work hard to secure roles over countless rivals, as strikingly handsome as they are. Having appeared in smaller parts before, it was the smash success of KinnPorsche – a show that almost didn’t get made because of funding issues – that catapulted them into not just the Thai limelight, but the global stratosphere.

Asked what Dior’s artistic director Kim Jones thinks of KinnPorsche, the duo laughs. Apo says: “We don’t know if he’s seen the show – we didn’t ask him. But we do know that our fans had been bombarding his Instagram account for a while, telling him about us, asking him to check us out, before he signed us up – well, at least that’s what he told us when we met him for the first time.”

“But for all you know, he could be binge-watching the series right now,” quips Mile, prompting another round of chuckles.

As the two men trade jokes in Thai, it’s clear that they share a genuine friendship. Their camaraderie is palpable, adding an extra layer of authenticity to their on-screen chemistry. Their behind-the-scenes antics and playful banter in candid posts have become fan fodder, launching thousands of TikTok videos and memes.

Mile says: “We’ve only become better friends in these past two-and-a-half years. We’ve become more synchronised, and our mindsets and energies are moving at the same pace. I can look at Apo and more or less understand what’s going on in his mind. We have small conflicts, of course – it’s normal among friends – but it’s usually something so minor, we can resolve it quickly.”

The best part of their friendship? Their shared love of dad jokes – that genre of silly, cheesy jokes with predictable punchlines that fathers supposedly love to tell their kids.

But Mile confesses: “I don’t tell dad jokes because I like them, to be honest. What I really, really want to tell are smart jokes, witty jokes… But I’m so bad at making jokes that they always come across as dad jokes, no matter how hard I try.”

Apo interjects: “Do you wanna hear a good dad joke?” Then, switching from Thai to halting English, he says slowly: “Hey you… watch where you walk… or you will… fall… into… my heart.”

I don’t think there are any “major” receipts from Brazil, but lots of rumors about the other boys hooking up with locals and Brazilian models/celebrities, but Harry and Louis being noticeably absent or uninterested.

Overall, I just think Harry (and Louis) always have a great time in LatAm, and perhaps particularly so in Brazil.

Stede may not know much about how to actually run a ship, but I'll bet anything that the Revenge lived in his mind for years before it was ever built.

This guy probably had a perfect image in his head of what his dream pirate ship would look like, curated over countless hours spent daydreaming of the seafaring life, and he clearly had a lot of influence over the design and construction of the Revenge. What I'm saying is, Stede didn't just get a ship. He brought his ship to life.

And y'all, it shows.

From his over-the-top cabin, to the secret compartments he had built in "just for fun," to the figurehead that he definitely picked out himself (Stede is a Horse Girl), the Revenge is dripping with his touch. It's brimming full of things that no other pirate ship would ever have, but this one does because it's a physical manifestation of Stede Bonnet's whole personality, including the parts he's always been judged for. It's no wonder it became this magical little safe space for the crew, when Stede poured his whole heart and soul into it, reinforced it with the finest cherry wood in all of Brazil, and then won a duel with it.

And this is also why it's so special to me that Ed got to know the ship first, before he even properly met Stede himself. He was instantly enamored by the things that everyone else seemed to shrug off or laugh at—the knickknacks, and the trinkets, and the books, and all the fancy stuff. They even show Mary's rejection of the model (a literal symbol of Stede's hopes and dreams) right next to Ed's delighted, enthusiastic acceptance of it. It's like a projection of their whole relationship.

Basically, Ed fell in love with the Revenge just as much as he fell in love with Stede, because the Revenge is Stede. And even when all the fine fabrics are gone, and the bookshelves are empty, and there's no lively crew to feel safe with, a bit of Stede will still be there.

Next door neighbor Hinata who’s a favorite of the elder residents of the apartment complex, always helping with shopping bags and asking about their families. Who is dubbed “perfect son-in-law” and gets a little shy when they want to set him up with their grandchildren, but is so incredibly nice about it.

Who’s always wearing a bright smile on his face and seems to always have an eye for the good things in life. He lights up the hallway whenever you see him, always has some nice words for you, and never fails to make your day a little better.

Who’s apartment is so cozy and so him. Memorabilia, postcards, and Polaroid pictures everywhere, reminders of vacations, volleyball games, and his time in Brazil. He talks you through them with a glimmer in his eyes, overflowing with passion and it almost feels like you were there with him. Everything is labeled nicely and when treats you to dinner after you let him use your washing machine for a week because his broke down, another Polaroid joins the collection.

Who’s so reliable and diligent, always on top of the cleaning schedule, and overall just such a dream of a neighbor that the other residents are openly jealous you’re the one who gets to live next to him.

Who’s love for nature always drags him outdoors - jogging, biking, hiking, or playing volleyball. And who is quick to apologize should he drag any dirt in, quickly fetching a mop to clean the entire stairway even if it��s not his duty this week.

Who is loved by every pet he comes across; cats brushing against his legs, dogs bouncing at him with paws that claw at his shirt begging for attention, and for some reason, there are always more birds at his bird feeder than there are at everyone else's.

Who when he comes home from his morning run and stands in the hallway bathed in the amber hues of the rising sun and with a slight sheen of sweat glistening on his skin, looks so ethereal. And when he flashes you a smile so breathtakingly vibrant leaves you wondering if he’s always been this handsome or if you’ve just been blind all along.

Who, despite being rather on the short side for a man, possesses a presence that has heads turning and voices quietening without the need for intimidation. It is a kind of force unlike any other that is accompanied by admiration and awe while still remaining so very human, full of compassion and consideration.

Who plays volleyball with the children living in the apartment complex whenever he can and is an excellent role model, full of passion for what he’s doing and so unbelievably supportive. He is quick to console them when they fall and graze their knees, bringing a smile back on their faces so effortlessly that you can’t help but think it’s magic. Parents love him because they know their kids are in good hands and when one of his games is coming up they organize a little public viewing because the kids want to see their idol in action.

Who loves sharing his excitement with whoever is willing to listen, babbling away about volleyball, his friends, or his family without ever being obtrusive, and is such a good listener, too. Who never not makes sure you feel noticed. He pays attention even when everyone else talks over you, meeting your eye and nodding at you with a gentle smile gracing his face as a way of saying Please, continue.

Next door neighbor Hinata who is has a soul woven out of threads of love and isn’t afraid to show that in every way possible. Who brightens the days of everyone around him like it is what he was put on this world to do.

Brazil

Brazil is largely progressive in its laws. Homosexuality has been legal since 1830, gay marriage since 2013. As of 2018, it is possible to legally change your gender without medical procedures. In addition, as of 2021, every state but two have recognized a third gender. All but six of them, however, only allow it for intersex people.

Pride celebrations have existed in Brazil since 1997, and São Paolo, the first and longest running of them, is the largest pride celebration in the world with over 3 million people. When it began, it only had 2000 people, but it steadily grew until it reached the 3 million mark. Each São Paolo event has a new slogan and theme. These themes are about current LGBT+ politics, rights, or discrimination. The Pride parade is the largest and last official event of São Paolo pride. That is not to say there aren't things to do afterwards. Many clubs do stay open after pride after all. Prior to the parade, there are events like the craft fair, and drag shows.

Even with all of this, their record breaking pride, the laws, trans people still face extreme violence in Brazil. In fact, Brazil has had the highest number of trans murders for fourteen years. While they have tried to stop this with laws and regulations, political speeches and more, 2022 had 131 trans people murdered. Of the victims in 2022, 76 percent were black, trans-women making up a large amount of that. On top of that, this is only reported murders.

Venezuela

When you research LGBT+ people in Venezuela, a thing you’re going to run into again and again is the illegality of being gay in the military. So let’s start with that. 

In Venezuela, until March of this year, it was illegal to be gay in the armed forces. It was easy, in fact, to be thrown out or fired, even if you had previously been a model worker. The Venezuelan military justice code had banned “unnatural acts”, punishable by up to three years in prison. Formal armed service members spoke out about this, in an article you can find here. Good news for gays in Venezuela, however, as on March 16th of this year, the code was annulled. Former members removed because of that code have had messages sent to them letting them know they can be reinstated.

That does not mean things are great for queers in Venezuela, however. A trans-women in Caracas has talked about her experiences being out, and what it took to get there. She talked about how her family had been unsupportive of her transitioning, but reportedly are coming around to it. In the article she talks about how she is privileged to be able to walk around without suffering transphobia every day. She talks about her friends who have had to leave the country, or suffer abuse, or are unable to present properly. Venezuela also has a misogyny problem, and according to her, it affects her more than transphobia does.

New image shows how the B-52 will look after engine and radar replacement

A new image of Boeing shows how the B-52H will look after a series of modifications that the U.S. Air Force said were significant enough to justify the renaming of the aircraft as B-52J or K.

The image was rendered from a digital prototyping model system, so it is likely to be very close to the final version.

The image highlights the largest diameter F130 turbofan engines to be built by Rolls-Royce North America. Also noteworthy is how the engine springs, each containing two engines, are placed higher and further ahead than the Pratt & Whitney TF-33 engines with which the B-52 has been flying since 1962, in part to provide more distance from the ground. The need to validate how the new engines/aveles will behave in relation to the wing and flaps system is an important part of the flight test program scheduled to start in the next two years.

The nose of the aircraft will also be simplified, losing the bubbles that currently house the infrared/electro-optical viewing system to facilitate the new radar, a variant of the AN/APG-79 used in the Boeing F/A-18E/F SuperHornet. The FLIR/EO system was used to avoid terrain and battle evaluation, but some of these functions will migrate to the radar or have already changed to a Litening or Sniper aiming pod, which the B-52 can carry on a hanger on the wing.

In addition to the engines and radar, the B-52 is receiving an updated cockpit, a "hybrid" analog-digital motor control system, communication and navigation improvements and the exclusion of a crew station.

Two large ravens at the top of the fuselage, close to the roots of the wings, also stand out in the images. A Boeing spokesman said that the crows “are not new and are not part of our program”, but they look bigger than any fairings or bubbles now in that area, which house GPS and other communication/navigation equipment. Pressed, the Boeing spokesman said: "I have nothing for you about it", a phrase that sometimes indicates a confidential issue. The location and size of the corcovas may suggest a larger and anti-incrat GPS antenna.

New engines were the main reason why the B-52G became the B-52H in 1962, said in August to Colonel Louise Ruscetta, senior material leader of the B-52. But given that the combined engine/radar program represents “the biggest modification in history” of the B-52, a new designation is likely, Ruscetta said. There may be a provisional designation because the radar will be installed before the engines and will lead to a change in manuals and operating and maintenance documentation. The documents will be changed again as soon as the engines are replaced. The Air Force and the Air Force Global Attack Command are analyzing "how we define" the new variant or variants, Ruscetta said.

The new radar is a type of active electronic scanning matrix, used by fighters. It will take up much less space than the old mechanically scanned system, so the change will create space for electronic warfare functions, Ruscetta said. At least part of the B-52 fleet will be operational with new radars and new engines by the end of the decade.

oh boy!! this took all of quarentena part 1 to make!! its been a few years since i made anything mesh so whipping up this hat in? what 5 and a half hours? maybe 6? i have not checked the vod time and i was also Cooking Dinner during a portion of it so time is hard to judge on how long this actually took. but it was fun! it Did reawaken my urge to crochet a mesh shirt even tho i would never wear it because it would be so uncomfortable. but making mesh is just so very mindless in a way thats good for me. maybe i should make a mesh blanket to scratch that itch.

📰 Focus People: Gucci Global Ambassador, Actress Park Gyuyoung... A Chameleon Who Blends into Characters

[Sisun News - Reporter Yang Wonmin] Actress Park Gyuyoung and the 'face genius' Cha Eunwoo's drama 'A Good Day to be a Dog' continues to be a hit worldwide. After ranking number one on Korea's Netflix TV series, it consistently remains within the top three, and it also ranked first in drama on Japan's OTT platform U-NEXT. Additionally, on the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki, it debuted in first place in 93 countries including the United States, Brazil, and India during its opening week, showcasing the prestige of K-dramas.

Park Gyuyoung, who has become a trendsetting actress, did not always dream of acting. She attended Busan Foreign Language High School and then entered Yonsei University, majoring in Clothing and Textiles. Park's foray into the entertainment industry came about by chance. While at university, she modelled for the cover of "College Tomorrow," and JYP Entertainment approached her with a casting offer after seeing her work. The last time the United States squared off against Russia for a big vote at the ITU happened at the 2012 World Conference on International Telecommunications in Dubai, when all 193 members came together to negotiate the international treaty that governs telecommunications, the International Telecommunication Regulations. That vote hinged, in part, on the question of whether the ITU would assume some greater responsibility for global internet governance.

The United States and its allies pushed for the ICANN-run model of internet governance in which governments had no greater say than anyone else involved (except for, arguably, the U.S. government, since it was still four years away from giving up its administration of ICANN’s contract at the time—and had not yet announced its intention to do so).

On the other side was a group of countries led by Russia and China, pushing for the ITU to assume more control over the internet so that all countries would have a vote and governments, not private actors, would be the ultimate authorities when it came to deciding how the internet was run. That might have meant government delegates, instead of the ICANN board, deciding whether a company like Amazon could own the .amazon top-level domain over the objections of the Brazilian and Peruvian governments, or whether to delist .ru domains from the internet’s addressing system at the request of the Ukrainian government earlier this year. It wouldn’t necessarily have been disastrous for those decisions to be made by government delegations instead of ICANN, but there was also considerable fear that governments, due to their lack of understanding of how the internet works, might try to do other, more impractical things through the ITU—like dictate how their internet traffic was routed in ways that would be impossible for internet service providers to implement.

Of course, with 193 countries involved, this wasn’t just a battle between the United States and Russia—but there’s no question they were the two central figures in that fight. One op-ed in the New York Post at the time claimed that “if delegates have their way at next week’s World Conference on International Telecommunications in Dubai, the man in charge of the Web will be a Soviet-trained apparatchik from Cold War days.”

The 2012 treaty negotiations were a mess. Even though the new treaty didn’t actually wrest any authority from ICANN, 55 countries, including the United States and most of Europe, refused to sign it for fear it might move the ITU closer to assuming some control over the internet. But another 89 states did sign it, including Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, and much of the Middle East and Africa.

So while the United States and its allies were able to keep the internet out of the ITU’s hands, they also realized that dozens of countries were fed up with how the internet was being run. Not long after, the Commerce Department announced that it was taking steps to stop administering ICANN’s contract in order to make the organization more fully independent of the US government and in 2016 the last contract officially ended. Some U.S. politicians, notably Ted Cruz, decried that change as “greatly endanger[ing] Internet freedom” because it would make it slightly harder for the US government to intervene if ICANN made decisions it disagreed with. But that, of course, was exactly the point—the change was supposed to appease the international community and reassure them that the internet was not under U.S. control.

Bogdan-Martin’s victory last week can be seen, in part, as evidence of the success of that maneuver. If dozens of ITU members were still suspicious of how much power the US wields over the global internet, presumably they would not have supported her candidacy.

But the dramatic drop in support for Russia’s agenda of having the ITU take control of internet resources can’t be attributed just to the 2016 change in ICANN governance. Many governments still find ICANN a frustrating forum for their delegations and unresponsive to their interests. In 2012, 89 members sided with Russia in ratifying the new treaty and holding open the possibility that the ITU might eventually help administer the internet. The only plausible reason for that number to have dropped to 25 by 2022 is Russia’s war with Ukraine and how wary it has made ITU members of aligning themselves with Russia or its representatives. It’s not a particularly surprising outcome given the current political climate, but it’s a striking one all the same because it suggests that Russia’s decisions with regard to Ukraine may fundamentally reshape the sides in the fight over internet governance. Now, it seems, it’s going to be much more difficult for Russia to work with China and other allies to limit U.S. influence over internet governance bodies.

Ten years ago, many ITU members viewed the United States as the aggressor when it came to internet governance—it was seen as a country that had parlayed its early investment in and development of the internet to controlling the global resources underpinning it that were now shared by the entire world. Some states worried at the time that the US government might shut off or otherwise manipulate their internet access thanks to their influence over ICANN. Last week, those concerns seemed to be much less prominent for ITU members than concerns about Russia’s aggression and instability. And if Russia can’t effectively rally other governments against the existing model of internet governance, it may be that we can go at least another 10 years before it is seriously challenged again.

Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine Is Thwarting Its International Internet Ambitions

In the fight to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one of the longstanding challenges has been figuring out who is exactly producing them and how much.

Now, a new global tracker is helping to make clear exactly where major greenhouse gas emissions are originating. Created by the nonprofit Climate Trace, the interactive map uses a combination of satellites, sensors and machine learning to measure the top polluters worldwide.

It observes how much greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide — are being emitted at specific locations, such as power plants and oil refineries. Former Vice President Al Gore, who is a founding member of the initiative, said it is meant to serve as a more reliable and accurate alternative to companies self-reporting their emissions estimates.

"Cheating is impossible with this artificial intelligence method, because they would have to somehow falsify multiple sets of data," he told NPR's Michel Martin on All Things Considered.

Gore recently returned from Egypt where world leaders have been convening to discuss the climate crisis at the annual U.N. climate conference, also known as COP27.

He believes the tracker will help countries stick to their pledges to reach net-zero greenhouse emissions by 2050.

Climate Trace wants to track nearly every big source of greenhouse emissions

The emissions tool employs over 300 satellites; sensors on land, planes and ships; as well as artificial intelligence to build models of emission estimates.

Right now, it tracks about 72,000 of the highest emitting greenhouse gas sources. That includes every power plant, large ship and large plane in the entire world, Gore said.

And that's just the beginning. By next year, Gore hopes to be tracking millions of major emitting sites.

"We will have essentially all of them," he said.

Gore said 75% of the world's greenhouse emissions come from countries that have made pledges to become carbon-neutral by 2050. "Now that they know exactly where it's coming from, they have tools that will enable them to reduce their emissions," he told NPR.

He added that the database, which is free and accessible online, can help inform countries about how much pollution is being emitted by the companies they are working with or considering working with.

It is not enough for companies to self-report, he said. For instance, Climate Trace found that the oil and gas industry has been significantly underreporting its emissions.

"We found their emissions are three times higher than they have been telling the United Nations," Gore said.

In the U.S. specifically, oil and gas producers have underreported how much methane they've been releasing, recent research suggests.

That doesn't mean companies were intentionally cheating, Gore added. However, he said underreporting prevents governments and the public from staying on track with their net-zero pledge.

Six regional governments in Mexico, Europe and Africa have already entered into working agreements for using the tool, Gore said.

Gore remains optimistic about the climate future

The world is generally off track from its goal of cutting emissions that drive climate change, but Gore said he's been impressed by recent efforts around the globe to address the issue.

In the U.S., Gore pointed to the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes over $360 billion to tackle climate change and incentivizes consumers to make greener choices. Gore described the law as "the biggest climate legislation in the history of the world."

He also praised Australia for voting in a new government that pledged to shift away from coal and Brazil for electing a new president who vowed to stop destroying the Amazon.

"So there's great danger, but there is hope," Gore said. "If we can summon the will to act."
