One of my favorite subjects right now is Soil Science! I think it’s a really cool subject :)

Every soil on Earth has Soil Horizons and these show its history and life cycle through the millions of years it was formed!

The O Horizon, is composed of >20% organic matter(OM) and is quite uncommon as it takes a long time to accumulate OM. The arctic and far north landmasses are more likely to have deep O Horizons because the cold weather keeps organic matter from decaying rapidly! You ever hear of those peat bogs?

That’s hundreds, possibly thousands of years of organic matter stacked up on top of each other.

But what about Tropical Regions? Shouldn’t they have a ton of Organic Matter buildup too? Surprisingly no! It’s quite shallow and nutrient poor. This is because the high temperatures and humidity degrade the organic matter so fast! And the high amount of rainfall washes a lot of the nutrients out of the remaining soil. Plants in these areas are well accustomed to this cycle.

Here’s a soil profile from Ecuador, South America. Do you notice how red it is? That’s rust!

Soils contain lots of minerals like aluminum and iron (although it’s hard to see). And because these tropical areas get pelted by rain, the soil oxides just like a rusty car!

There are all kinds of soil colors too!

Question from Twitter: What kind of content would your oc post online?

Since Lily works for Mostro Lounge as a baker, she has one “business” profile where clients can reach out to get custom cakes from her. Her personal account would be a locked account where she posts about her daily life, pretty pictures, and other thoughts.

Lily only works for Azul because she knows she can’t rely on Crowley and she wants to have enough saved up by the time she graduates to be able to live on her own. Azul handles all the logistics, Lily handles baking and customization and client talk

All in all I don’t see Lily being a very active social media user. She’d likely make one at the request of Cater, but is inactive most of the time, though she does use magicam to keep in touch with the other students 💬

I've been working on a Links-Meet AU for over a year now, and I'm still not done, but I thought I'd get a blog started anyway! (Some extra motivation, can't stay in the drafts forever!) I want to have a design for every Link and Zelda, and it's been HARD! I especially like the niche-er ones because it's very interesting to speculate about, and I love noncanon Links! I probably won't use them all but I'd like to create them anyway! My inspirations are @minas-linkverse, @linkeduniverse, @linked-maze, and others that I can't remember off the top of my head right now (I'll probably make a separate post with everyone). I don't know whether I want to write this or have a comic, but I'm excited anyway!

Obsessed with lovers and piners calling the object of their affections their best friend. Like yessss blur the lines between platonic and romantic love. show how important they are to you in a multifaceted way. Cover up your feelings with another kind of love that is just as true. One type of love does not negate the other and but tragedy can rip both out from under you single handedly, and it will hurt so much more that way. Losing a friend and a lover. Gaining both and not needing any labels for what they are. Using labels but having it be so much more than a title. Were they friends before they were lovers? Or were they lovers whose friendship grew inside of their love? Unclear! Who cares!

Anakin Skywalker had too much plot development. He could have benefitted from a beach episode. Unfortunately, there’s one major issue with that.

Okay so everyone and their mother has watched Disney’s Frozen right?

Well okay, you know how Hans, the twist villain prince, kinda comes out of nowhere with an evil scheme? Like…. he never shows any hostility towards the royal family even when in mortal danger?? Well, APPARENTLY in the broadway musical he’s even more nice!?!!? The songs he’s included in clearly show he doesn’t want to hurt anyone and shows genuine feelings 💔

I’m distraught 😭 This man was too nice to be the twist villain 🥺
