Being chronically ill sucks for many reasons but one reason is that all the doctors are so focused on keeping your body from attacking itself/collapsing in on itself that it’s like “uhh I think my brain/emotions are kinda being neglected here :/“

I’ve made it another year as a “survivor”. Attempting to change that language to something more positive because I don’t want to just survive. I want to thrive! I hope everyone has a wonderful and prosperous 2024!

Shannen Doherty doesn’t mince words.

“I don’t want to die,” she asserts as a sliver of Los Angeles sunshine falls across her face on the set of her PEOPLE cover shoot four days before Thanksgiving.

As she continues to receive treatment, the 52-year-old is more determined than ever to keep moving forward. “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better,” she says, cracking a smile. "I’m just not — I’m not done.”
