if I remember right, a year or two ago you made a list of recommendations for the Edinburgh Fringe. Any recommendations for this year? Already got Steffan on the list, obviously
I did! Okay, okay, here's what I've got this year. Caveat: I personally have not been up there yet (I'm going in a few days), but these are things I saw in preview/have heard great things about.
Steffan Alun: Free Standup, but at What Cost
Venue 156: PBH's Free Fringe @ Banshee Labyrinth - Banquet Hall, 21.30-22.30
Back again! Eighth Fringe, this. The show is an hour, but that includes a 15 minute warm-up act, then Steff for 45 mins. He does this so that reviewers won't come and ruin the vibe.
Anyway this year he talks a bit about being Welsh and how he is therefore grumpy with Bristolian Tesco self-checkout machines
.
Jake Baker: Rule Breaker!
Venue 78: PBH's Free Fringe @ Canons' Gait - Lower, 16.30-17.30
I love Jake, he's lovely. He's a gentle soul and has an excellent delivery style; very warm and deceptively witty. Normally he goes with Just The Tonic and is given a searing hot basement in the sky that smells of mould for a room, but this year he's in Canons' Gait, which is much much nicer.
His blurb: A rule-breaker, a risk taker, a wave-maker and a convention-shaker – all phrases never before used to describe Jake Baker. But when a frustrating game of Alan Turing-themed Monopoly leaves him questioning the laws of the game, he finds himself turning that analytical impulse to bigger things.
.
Stephanie Laing: Rudder
Venue 300: Underbelly, George Square - The Wee Coo, 14.50-15.50
This show is particularly Tumblr-friendly, actually; it's described as 'neurodiversity-led'. However, it's a show with a content warning, although all the ticket page is saying is "themes" (insert Stephen Fry meme here); so, <SPOILER> she talks about withdrawing consent while sleeping with a FIB, and him continuing anyway. She talks about it in a very gentle way, avoiding Big Words, and it's very heavy on aftercare </SPOILER>
Her blurb: A comedy dance show about balance. Stephanie has a history of falling over a lot, accidentally kneeing herself in the face, and falling in love with total kn*bheads. In this show she uses a mixture of stand-up and dance to talk about bodies, sex, dancing, liking yourself, consent and healing. Also, there are cartoon bears and burlesque.
.
Erin McKinnie: The Faff Chronicles
Venue 108: Hoots @ The Apex - Hoot 4, 16.50-17.50
An Edinburgh local! Good solid standup for those who like such things. New-ish, but one to watch, she's very good. Don't be surprised to see her take off
Her blurb: What a faff! Erin McKinnie, a rising star on the Scottish comedy circuit, talks about faffing through early adulthood – from rogue adventures to living the "below-deck life" on cruise ships – she finds the funny in every bizarre encounter in this uplifting show that asks: Do we really need a life plan? Or... are we all just winging it? A brilliant, snort-worthy giggle-fest about exiting your 20s, facing life indecision and chasing answers for those big questions, all the while trying to convince your mother that this is a real job...
.
Alexander Bennett: Emotional Daredevil
Venue 24: Gilded Balloon Patter House - Coorie, 18.20-19.20
Dark feelings show with a really positive, optimistic message and a fun concept. It uses audience participation, but that's not compulsory, you're safe.
Blurb: I'm the emotional daredevil, and for my next feat, I need someone's help. A show about risk, for the unsatisfied and traumatised, from a Chortle Award nominee
.
Alex Franklin: Gurl Code
Venue 61: Underbelly, Cowgate - Delhi Belly, 20.25-21.25
Alex does a fun thing each year where she takes her publicity budget and rather than spending it on publicity, she hides it somewhere in Edinburgh and then reveals a clue to its location every day. This tells you something about her, I think
Her blurb: In 2024, trans girl Alex (me) started HRT. Now she (me) feels the most alive she's (me's) ever felt; and she wants to make you feel alive too, or die trying. A ludicrous, musical, chaotic, joyful show about the colours of the world becoming slowly brighter and giving people furniture via the tube. Also being trans.
.
Character Building Experience
Venue 49: Bedlam Theatre - Bedlam Theatre, 20.00-21.00
It's a D&D show - the MC Sasha Ellen makes a bunch of 40-minute simple campaigns and a selection of pre-rolled characters to do them, and then gets three comedians each time to play them. You know the drill. Good quality fun, and different each time, since you'll never see the same campaign/comedian mix.
.
2 Truths, 1 Lie
Multiple venues and times (search the EdFringe app or website to see them all), but I recommend catching the 3pm show on either the 25th or 26th August at Venue 108: Hoots @ The Apex - Hoot 1 for reasons I shall not share here (ooh, mysterious)
Fun panel-like show! Often MC'd by Steff, especially if you catch one of the 3pm shows. The format is:
Three comedians each declare a statement. Two are true, but one comedian is lying. The MC doesn't know the liar, nor does the audience. The audience gets to ask questions of the comedians; at the end, they vote on who they think the liar is.
(The prize for winning is a smug sense of satisfaction.)
.
Anyway, once I'm up there I will possibly have more, but currently, that's my list

your wedding | fem! jjk x reader
Gojo: Your wedding with Gojo, considering she comes from the extremely wealthy Gojo Clan, would be just that — no expenses would be spared for this day, or rather, entire week. Gojo would want to parade you around, make a huge deal about the two of you getting married (not that she didn’t do that the second you accepted her proposal).
From the wedding invitations being personally made by some of the greatest artists in the world, to your dresses (or suit, if you’d prefer, whatever you will wear will be custom-made from the finest cloth), to the five-tier wedding cake and the venue being one of the most expensive, the wedding is an entire fairytale.
When getting married to a woman like Gojo, squash any hopes of this ordeal being small or budget-friendly. It’s not every day the strongest person in the world gets married to the most beautiful woman in the world (aka, you).
Geto: Your wedding with Geto would be best described as elegant. It’s on the smaller side, but there’s so much attention to detail. You would both invite important people in your lives, and Nanako and Mimiko would act as dual flower girls. They would be the only ones standing by each of your sides, as there would be no bridesmaids to make the wedding less stressful on you both.
You would exchange matching rings in a simple but ethereal venue, and the cake would be three tiers and on the smaller side to match your very chill wedding. Geto’s vows made you sob like a baby in front of everyone, and as soon as you kiss she starts referring to you as her wife to everyone who comes up to congratulate you two.
Nanami: If there was a bridezilla, it would be Nanami. She wouldn’t be mean, but completely focused on every single miniscule detail to the point that if a flower looked out of place she’d immediately be calling the florist to exchange a single stem. She would want everything to be perfect because you didn’t deserve anything less.
The two of you would save up to have it be a destination wedding in Malaysia. It would be on the beach, and Nanami would wear a wedding jumpsuit rather than a dress. She would want to stand at the end of the aisle and watch you walk down it, and everyone (see: Gojo) would release an “Awww,” as Nanami starts crying at the sight of you.
She wouldn’t leave you alone the entire wedding day, holding onto your hand as you make your way around to thank everyone and speak to different guests. She’s waiting on your every movement, holding your champagne glasses if you need her to, and helping put your shoes back in place after you take them off hours later drunk when you’re on the dancefloor with everyone, pressing a kiss on her wife’s ankle. (She would totally carry you over the threshold!)
Shoko: A city hall wedding. The two of you would still get dressed up, and she gives the energy of someone who would get married in the winter, around the holiday season. You would have matching white long coats that tie at the waist for when you’re outside and your family and friends take pictures of you as soon as they’re done cheering for you two. Shoko gets married around the holiday season because she gets some extra time off, and she decides to be as cheesy as possible and kiss you under any mistletoe hung up for the holidays, which she always follows up with a kiss to your ring finger.
Yuki: Yuki never thought she would be someone who would want to get married. That changed as soon as the two of you began dating. Your wedding couldn’t even be called a “wedding,” exactly, when she asked you if you wanted to get married at 3 A.M.
And when she meant “get married,” she meant 6 hours later, when city hall opened at 9 A.M.
You would barely have any time to tell anyone, and luckily, you both owned a pair of nice white dresses. You dressed up as much as you could at a spur of the moment decision, as most things are with Yuki, and got on her motorcycle and drove to the city hall.
She had booked an appointment online at 2 A.M. before asking you to get married to her.
What you didn’t expect, however, was that she already had the wedding rings ready, and had for six months. Yuki is someone who does things when the timing feels “right,” by her standards, and she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with you, so why wait?
Choso: Choso would definitely be nervous about your wedding. You two would plan it out, and try to make it a simple but beautiful occasion to celebrate your marriage. You would be the one to propose to her, and she would definitely cry her eyes out.
You wouldn’t tell her, but you would plan out an entire table that would remain untouched, a setting for each of her brothers who had been lost set up with their pictures. She would once again sob like a baby and kiss you once she saw this.
Yuji would be her maid of honor, the younger girl cheering when Choso dips you into the most perfect kiss of your life in front of the attendees.

Would I be the asshole to have a luxurious celibacy party with my (ex) future in law's money instead of a wedding ? 👰👯
Sorry for any grammar mistake, English is not my first language.
My(29F) partner(29M) of 12 years cheated on me. I caught him a few months before the wedding and called everything off.
My ask is more about my in-laws and appearing like a gold digger so I will spend some time explaining my relationship with them. I don't care about what my ex thinks. He is dead to me.
My ex's family is old money, mine is blue collar. His family has always been really nice and welcoming.
Aside from a few family vacations paid for me here and there, I never benefited financially from their wealth. For gift-giving occasions they were tactfully giving me sentimental gifts, so I could return the favor and match with them in term of budget.
His parents wanted to teach their future heir the value of money, and he didn't have access to the family funds during his studies. They were even frugal in his allowance (he obv couldn't qualify for scholarship) and we both had to take jobs during our studies to support ourselves (my scholarships didn't cover for all expenses). I got my diploma before him (shorter studies) and supported him financially during the last three years of his studies. He has had a (very) high earning job and access to family funds for a year.
When he finished his studies, we started to plan for the wedding.
His family wanted an extravagant wedding, I would have preferred a smaller event, my fiance had no opinion. I finally accepted because it made his family so happy, and like I said they have always been very good to me. I even ended up having a lot of fun with my ex MIL and SIL planning for things. I mostly referred to them as what was a "must have" for a wedding even if most of this seemed like a rich people extravagance to me.
The plan was for us (me and cheater) to pay 50% of the wedding. My parents were paying for 5% (I wouldn't dare tell them how much the whole thing was worth but they insisted to contributing). My IL were paying for the other 45%. I wanted to pay more, but my FIL told me that I let them have their way with the guest list and as such more than half of the guests were strictly theirs so it made sense that they were paying for them.
Then I caught him…
Obviously, no wedding will be happening but it's too late to cancel most stuff : venue, food, guest accommodation, dress, musicians, horses (yes. Horses. Rich people I swear).
My in-laws told me they are taking full responsibility for their son's cheating and will pay the whole wedding themselves. My ex SIL, who is also my best friend told me in confidence that they plan to make my ex reimburse them every penny.
I asked my MIL if I could keep the venue and organize a smaller event with my closest friends. She agreed.
I am calling it a celibacy party but the truth is I am devastated by what's happening. Full blown panick attack and crying myself to sleep…
I want a nice day outside with my friends and their children having fun. My family was overjoyed to finally have a joyfull family reunion for once, and I wanted to keep that. My niece (SIL's daughter whose I am the godmother of) plans to color my glorious useless white wedding dress with finger paints.
I suggested to my IL to come during the day event as our family has been blended long before we decided to make it official. My IL politely refused which yeah I understand. I didn't expected them to come, it was more to suggest them subtlety that I still want they in my life and I don't consider them responsible for their son's cheating.
Maybe the night event will be less kid friendly and I do intend to party hard in case it could make me forget the last twelve years of my life with my ex. There will be single men (close friends and family), and a lot of alcohol obviously but I don't see myself hooking up with anyone I would have previously invited TO MY OWN WEDDING. There will also be my previous ex, that I dated when we were 12 and who while celibate, is fully homosexual.
My ex learned about the plan and called me furious. He called me names (I don't care about the names a cheater calls me), but he said that it was a slap in the face of his parents and it makes me look like a gold digger. He also said that people will talk and my in-laws would look like fools among their guests when they will learn what happened in place of a wedding.
It makes me second guess myself. I asked again my in-laws and they told me that the event was mine, I could marry someone else at this venue and they couldn't blame me. I pressed again my SIL for her parents' true opinion (After all this time I struggle to understand rich people speak) : she admitted that they do think it's a bit in poor taste (That's the worst insult in rich people language) but my SIL told me it's still in better taste than putting your dick in some luxury sex-worker without condom a few months before your wedding (ex might have a love child with Another woman. It's a full shitshow but it's not mine anymore)
I am certain most people will call me NTA, as my ex SIL did, but I wonder if older people from richer backgrounds (and who are not my best friend) would agree… I do love my ex IL and I don't know how I will manage it but I want to keep them in my life and would cancel this stupid breakup party in a blink if I have to. I am not sure if tumblr has a lot of people fluent in old-fashioned old-money tradition, but it's still worth a shot. I am at still undecided about the whole thing and might change my opinion 13 times till this ask is published…

Hello! Could we have a second part of inkigayo with Heizou and Wanderer, then? I loved what you wrote, it's so creative and your writing is very pleasing! 😄
INKIGAYO! (2) genre: romance, fluff, tinge of crack(?) pairing/s: 6reeze (Wanderer & Heizou) x gn!idol!reader summary: In where 4nemo's new editions lose a bet and have to give you, their fellow idol, their number in the form of an inkigayo sandwich!
a/n: Sorry for the delay! I didn't expect to have this req so soon oml TT TT you guys consume content FAST like omg don't stop over a hundred notes in only a few days I'm so kinikilig sainyo ( 〃▽〃) (no proofread TT TT)
FIRST PART!
DCKZ version!
Tumblr media
It had only been a month since Heizou and Scara had been accepted as new members of 4NEMO. They've considered re-naming theirselves as 6REEZE until the realization of not having the budget to do so.
With their appearance, their fanbase had gotten as active as ever. Already spurring fanpages, edits, fanfiction and all kinds of demands for more content.
Now with the upcoming inkigayo in a few days, they were quick to notify their fanbase of this, assuring everyone that their new editions would be showing up, serving them the meal they have been pleading for.
And so they were, standing in place with one's phone propped on a tripod a good distance away from them. The last dance before they would head out for lunch.
"Hey," Venti spoke up, earning curious glances from those beside him, a hum from the rest infront.
"You guys up for a bet?" Mischief laced his tone as his members groaned at the suggestion.
"Gods, never again." "Come on dude.."
"What? Come on! It'll be fun, right newbies?" He looks at Heizou and Scara expectantly, smiling.
The pair looks at eachother in a "why not" or "what could go wrong" manner, "both" taking it as a friendly competition before taking on Venti's offer.
"Just don't mess up.." He grins deviously before music began to blare from the room's speakers.
Tumblr media
WANDERER!
He grimaces when they point out his mistake in the choreography. It would've been subtle to the audience. Yet, easy to spot for their previous main dancer.
Admittedly, the sub vocalist is quite competitive, stubborn in a way. But it wasn't anything new or of much struggle for 4NEMO. Most had expected him to be more in tune with Xiao. Though to their surprise, he most especially got along with Kazuha despite their contrasting personalities. Could it have been from Scara taking over his role as their sub vocalist.
"You poor thing.. Goodluck." Aether cooes in a jokingly sympathetic tone as he pats Scara on the back, earning a confused glare.
Sighing exasperatedly, he crosses his arms on his chest, shifting his hips to the side slightly.
"What're you up to.." He asks Venti who had an annoyingly smug grin on his lips, oh so punchable.
Even more punchable when he explained his consequence for messing up. Given that they talked about their "celebrity crushes" when getting to know the two, he used it to his advantage.
He grumbles under his breath as he slips his handwritten number, wrapped in it's own thin plastic in between the sandwhich before putting it back in it's bag, zipped sealed.
🎎— Scara fiddles with the sandwich in his hands as he impatiently waits for your arrival, leg bouncing as time passed. He wondered if you were even coming.
He wasn't all thrilled with this, neither was he going to back down from it.
It hadn't been that long since your last interaction with him anyway, you happened to pass by 4NEMO on break and congratulate him and Heizou, along as warn them about the havoc that the original four would cause.
He swallows the lump in his throat when he sees you enter the venue, happily conversing with Bennett, TVT DREAM's leader and overall one of the youngest idols in the agency.
He stands up from his seat, grabbing everyone from his table's attention when he walked over to you with confidence, albeit a bit nervous.
"(Name)!" He calls out. Unsure of how else to greet you, he smiles awkwardly, handing you the sandwich with a shaky, maybe a bit sweaty hand.
In confusion, you take the sandwich from Scara with a smile, about to greet him before he walked away without further explanation.
HEIZOU! 101% not biased
He sighs, disappointed with his performance as he did notice his own mistake in the choreography.
Watching the footage, it was hard not to miss as he had blended it almost perfectly with the actual choreo, Kazuha was most definitely impressed.
"I'm convinced you two are related at this point." Venti jokes. Though they had to agree, there was a resemblance between the two, friendly demeanor along with the ability to think in the moment, replacing forgotten steps in the matter of seconds. They truly picked the right person for the job.
Unsure of your tastes, he buys a sandwich he hopes is exceptional for you, slipping his number in the bag lazily.
🔎— Heizou taps his finger against the table, eyes attentively scanning over the idols in the venue in search of you.
The situation didn't visibly faze the boy. He had just simply thought of every possible conversation starter in hopes of being able to talk with you outside work.
It wasn't that long until he caught glimpse of you, sitting alongside and chatting with TVT DREAM's visual, Xingqiu. Your conversation didn't appear to be anything professional or of significance. He knows that the young man with you was new to such duties of an idol, perhaps you were coaching him?
Shaking off his thoughts, he watched as Xingqiu stood from his seat, bowing in what seemed to be a thanks, smiling down at you lightly. Perfect
Clearing his throat, Heizou stands up, grasping the sandwich in his hands with a firm sense of gentleness as he walked over to you; which you noticed, giving him a smile as you watched him making his way towards you.
"Hey." He was now standing infront of you, waving friendlily as he smiles at you.
"Here," He slides the sandwhich on the table towards you, that you stilled with your hand.
"May I.. sit with you?"

Pink Pastels Pt 28
Tumblr media
Description: It's time for the gala, and you meet two surprising figures there. Pt 29
You smooth out the nonexistent wrinkles in your gown, the soft material clinging to you like a second skin, emphasizing your curves perfectly, and giving you one hell of an ego boost.
“Y/N are you almost ready to go?” Miguel calls from your shared bedroom.
You give yourself a final look in the mirror. Makeup? Perfect. Hair? Gorgeous. Outfit? Stunning. You have to hand it to Miguel; he knows your style. You adjust the flower pendant around your neck, then step out of the bathroom, joining Miguel by the full-length mirror in the corner of the room.
“Ready.”
He looks at you in the mirror’s reflection, suddenly losing his grip on his tie. “Mi Vida…you look—”
“Like a princess! Mamá looks like a princess.” Gabi says, throwing her body onto you and Miguel’s bed before rolling over onto her stomach and admiring you, her head resting in her hands.
You turn and beam at her, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “Thank you, sweetheart, you look very pretty too.”
Gabi smiles and jumps up, twirling around in her dress. It’s a sparkly purple dress, the color matching your own, and Miguel’s tie. “What do you think, Papá?”
In an effort to make Alchemax seem more family friendly, they opened the gala up to family members, citing there would be entertainment for any kids that attended if their parents wanted for a break from them.
Miguel finishes tying his tie, then scoops Gabi up. “You look beautiful, mija.”
Gabi smiles and wraps her arms around his neck. “You look very handsome, Papá.”
“Like an emperor?” You suggest, giving Miguel a teasing smile over Gabi’s shoulder.
Miguel’s admitted he has a certain, and elaborate fantasy in which he is a superpowered emperor, and you are a princess that he whisks away and seduces. You haven’t yet given it a try, but even the mere mention of it nearly whips Miguel into a frenzy.
“No, that’s silly, he’s wearing clothes, Mamá.” Gabi giggles.
“Of course, I’m wearing—what?” Miguel’s brows furrow, and he looks to you for clarification.
“Oh, oh, we were talking about that story, The Emperor’s New Clothes, in class today.” You fill Miguel in, both proud of Gabi for remembering details about the story and glad she didn’t ask any other questions about why you referred to Miguel as an emperor.
“It’s a weird story, I like Beauty and the Beast better.” Gabi says, playing with the end of Miguel’s tie.
“It is a little silly, but the moral of the story is what’s important, remember?”
“Yes Mamá.” Gabi says.
“Why don’t we stop talking about people not wearing clothes and head to the party?” Miguel says, shooting you a look.
You smile mischievously at him, then head toward the door. “We’re waiting on you.”
You hold Gabi’s hand as you walk into the massive ballroom where Alchemax is hosting their gala. It’s in a nice hotel, one you’ve certainly never had the money to stay at before.
“It’s so pretty!” Gabi says, her eyes darting around the room as she takes in the finery before her.
“It really is.” You say, taken aback by how absolutely gorgeous the venue is.
“It was better last year, the CEO really slashed Monica’s budget, said she went too overboard last time.” Miguel comments, snagging two glasses of champagne from a nearby waiter.
You take it gratefully. “Well, I think it looks wonderful.”
“Miggy! Gabs! Y/N!” Monica’s voice rings out through the air.
“Speak of the devil.” Miguel jokes, turning to face his half-sister, who is rapidly approaching.
“Auntie Mon!” Gabi cries, rushing forward and throwing her arms around Monica.
“Hey kiddo!” Monica says, smiling down at Gabi. “You excited to see the petting zoo?”
“Yes, yes, yes, are there sheep?” Gabi asks, bouncing up and down on her toes in excitement.
“You bet there are.” Brett, Monica’s husband says, smiling widely, and he bends down to be face to face with Gabi. “You want to come with Uncle Brett and see them? If that’s okay with your dad?” He looks up at Miguel.
“Please Papá, please, I want to see the sheep.” Gabi begs, giving Miguel her best puppy dog eyes.
Your fiancé predictably folds and nods. “Okay, but be careful.”
Gabi promises to be careful and takes Brett’s hand, letting him lead her out the doors and into the garden area.
“Sheep?” Monica asks, raising one eyebrow.
Miguel shakes his head fondly. “I don’t know, they’re her newest obsession right now.”
Monica laughs. “Remember when we were back in school, and you were obsessed with that really specific pen brand? What were they, G-something?”
“Sharpie S-Gel.” Miguel says almost automatically.
A catlike grin spreads across her face. “Like father, like daughter, huh?”
You stifle a giggle, there are dozens of those pens scattered around Miguel’s apartment.
“Monica, darling, are you teasing Miguel?” A voice you don’t recognize asks.
Miguel stiffens slightly, and Monica turns, a playfully annoyed look on her face. “Mom, he’s a grown man, he’ll be fine.”
Standing before you are two women. One, a tall red-haired woman with piercing blue eyes and an elegant air to her, you assume she’s Monica’s mother, and the other a slightly shorter Mexican woman with curly dark hair and warm brown eyes. She’s wearing the same pantsuit as Monica’s mother but in powder blue instead of black.
“Yes, but he’s sensitive.” Monica’s mother says, smiling brightly at Miguel. “Miggy, darling, how are you?”
“I’m doing well, Nancy, and yourself?” Miguel asks, stiffly holding his hand out for her to shake.
“Mijo, don’t be so stiff, hug your Aunt Nancy.” Miguel’s mother says, taking a step forward and lightly swatting him on the arm.
“Oh Connie, please, don’t push the boy, I know he’s not the biggest hugger.” Nancy chides playfully, giving Miguel a quick hug.
You’re torn between freaking out, quietly cussing Miguel out for not telling you his mom was going to be here, or introducing yourself, but luckily Monica makes the choice for you.
“Mom, Aunt Connie, this is Y/N, Miguel’s fiancée.”
Nancy’s perfectly painted lips blossom into a brilliant smile, but Connie’s brow furrows.
“What about Ava?” She asks.
Your stomach drops.
“What about her, Mamá?” Miguel counters calmly.
“She’s Gabriella’s mother, you can’t just replace her like that.”
And now your stomach begins to churn uncomfortably.
“Can we have this discussion in private?” Miguel asks, his tone leaving no room for discussion.
Connie nods, and you look between Miguel and Monica.
“I’ll be right back, cariño, enjoy the party.” He reassures you, before he leads his mother away from the main crowd.
Nancy purses her lips, then pulls out a chair. “Never liked that Ava girl.”
Monica sits as well, motioning for you to do the same. “She’s a bitch.”
You bite your tongue.
Nancy seems to notice and places her hand over yours. “Oh, don’t worry, she’s long gone, ran off with some Californian.”
“Oh, yes, Miguel told me.” You say, praying they’ll believe that’s the real reason you look like you want to vomit.
“Not everyone can make an affair work in their favor, it’s hard work.”
You blink owlishly at her.
“I saw Miguel and Monica in school together, made the connection, went to Connie to ask woman to woman what was going on behind my back. Turns out she had tried to end the affair multiple times, but Tyler wouldn’t let her, until one day she finally gathered her strength and broke it off. Now, Tyler and I were never soulmates, but it hurt to know what he had done, and I wanted revenge.”
Monica grabs her drink and downs it.
“I’ll spare you the boring details but, rest assured, Connie and me and made sure Tyler could never negatively affect our lives ever again.” Nancy finishes, picking up a knife and cutting into the food set before her.
“That’s good…?” You say uncertainly, looking to Monica for help.
Monica just shrugs. “Hey, I didn’t pay for college, or my wedding, I really can’t complain.”
“Needless to say, I keep my husband on a short leash, and I have no patience for cheaters, so Ava was never my favorite.”
“I…yeah, no, she sounds awful.”
Maybe it’s better to keep your mouth shut, technically you were kind of cheating on Todd with Miguel, but it’s different, right? Todd treated you horribly, he didn’t care about you, and you broke up with him before you and Miguel actually ever had sex, hell you didn’t even know it was Miguel until the end.
Besides, Todd would’ve jumped at the chance to get his dick sucked by his favorite female superhero, and wouldn’t have even felt bad about it, at least you felt bad…
Speaking of Miguel, you wonder what’s taking him so long.

My first ever Android Smartphone - Busted (Cherry Mobile Jelly) [feat. my Paper Dolls]
DeviantART version → [CLICK ME!]
Hello, August... 🏫🎒 It's been a rough and depressing month for me from nothing to earn funds for myself, to struggling with my life staying at home. 😟😞 Although I do occasionally go outside to get some fresh air when the sun is bright, it remains the same. 😔 I'm still stuck on my mom's slow-performance laptop, and I can't make item reviews because of the aforementioned laptop. 👩💻 Meanwhile, I'm still browsing some job openings, though the only problem was the "lack of trustworthy". I did apply once and I was going to go anyway, however, my mom investigated the details of where the venue at for a schedule, and it turns out that the job that I applied for was a sham... Yeah, I dodged the bullet on going there owning to my flashbacks of what happened in 2019. *Sigh* So much for that... 😟 I wish this type of fraud job would be ended by the time the government and authorities caught red-handed on fake application jobs. Right now, I've already applied for a job by submitting a resume to legit hiring via email, and to this day nobody answered my call. I'm still a helper for my parents' small rug business, although they didn't give me a raise, but small treats and food. Also, I'm selling my scrap computer parts, unfortunately, nobody seemed to be interested in my items... Bummer. 😔
[I want a end my life... But, I refused to kill myself. Not yet... 😟😞]
Should I keep posting and sharing my items on tumblr? 🤔 I'm still thinking about it, but for now this could be my last item... As we hit the first "Ber" month (September 📆), I need to take a break from posting it until my custom PC desktop brought back to life with a brand new GPU Card. 🖥️🔧
Anyway, let's head back to my last item (before I go *semi* hiatus):
• What I have here is my first ever cheap Android Smartphone after I graduated from vocational college [Computer Programing] in 2014. 👨‍🎓🏫💻 This here is the "Cherry Mobile Jelly". 🤖📱 Actually, it's now simply called "Cherry" which we'll get to that later. Nonetheless, I bought this cheap and small smartphone for ₱ 2,299 💵 from a local trustworthy cellular phone store at the mall, I should it picked the blue color because I loved that color for life 💙, although it is out of stock so I guess I'll settle with green anyway. 🟩📱🤷‍♀️ (After all, green signifies an android phone, right? 🟩🤖📲 Nonetheless...) As for the specs of this phone, it is pretty low-profile standard considering that this is a budget-friendly smartphone. Here, go see it by click here → [CLICK ME! #1]. Unfortunately, as you can see, my first cheap smartphone ended in 2015 due to poor quality, as I accidentally fell off my phone numerous times causing it to crack the touch screen (not to mention, the battery phone had bloated.), and my Jelly phone ended its life. It was only a matter of time before my old phone was replaced by the outdated "Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2" [GT-S7582] (which was also decommissioned somewhere in 2019). As for the so-called "Cherry" brand, they're still producing smartphones albeit a small ranges because they've already expanded to daily electronic appliances (e.g. slim smart TV, washing machine, air purifier, etc...). Pls, click here to see → [CLICK ME! #2]. One more thing, the only feature really I missed from using the old Cherry Mobile Jelly is the ability to watch TV by raising the mini antenna and opening the TV app, as you've seen on my snapshot. 📺📲😊

• When it comes to comparison with my current Tecno Spark 20 Pro [CLICK ME!] smartphone, well... You noticed the BIG difference. 📱📲 To be honest, I missed holding a small Android smartphone, as holding it could be a very advantage (which is like holding an old MP4 player) over a tall and bulky smartphone, like my aforementioned Tecno mobile brand. 😊 And surprisingly, they're still producing small smartphones albeit in ✌"Made in China"✌ and they're using a vanilla yet recent Android Operating System, unlike Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, and other giant smartphone brands with their state-of-the-art features and current running Android OS. Maybe someday I'll get my hands on the small Android phone for a nostalgic sake? Who knows? 🤷‍♀️ For now, though, I guess I'll stick with the taller smartphones. And as for my first ever owned cheap Android phone, it's already a relic of its time. Time for you to return to the memorabilia box. 🙂
Well, that's all for now. If you want to see my previous topic, then please → [CLICK ME!].

week of august 6th, 2023
aries: venusian activity in your 5th house, retrograde or not (it is) means romance and creativity for you. love your inner child in the way that it needed when you were young. take yourself outside to play, or buy yourself a nice toy. if you have your own children or spend a lot of time around someone else's kids, be a safe and trustworthy grownup to them for extra good karma!
taurus: venus in retrograde comes back to square uranus and conjoin the sun, retracing her fairly recent steps. while it's probably less bubbly and bright than last time, it's still alluring and may herald romantic developments.
gemini: the moon in your sign such as it will be this week can make people antsy. you're not really an exception. on the brighter side of things though, you're more fluid than any other sign and can easily turn any mood around. you can turn other people's moods too, with your charming eloquence put to good use.
cancerians: it may well be that recent leonic themes are not something you're quite comfortable with, and maybe with venus retrograde over there you even have some financial struggles occurring. this week especially, overspending is ill advised. it's not such a mercurial time that you need to work out a whole budget unless you want to! just think twice (or three or four times) before you buy stuff for fun.
leo: sun conjunct venus is HUGE for leos, never mind the fact that venus is in retrograde. that just means you get to do this again after she turns direct and it'll be even better then! good vibes all week if you wear gold, especially rosy golds, and glitter, and big sleek hair. plus embrace the feline life and attitude. lilith is also in that neighborhood, so no need to adhere to any traditional roles. be in your wildest authenticity. you may be a house tiger, but you're still a tiger.
virgo: this week is peaceful for you if you are willing to surrender. but for a sign who has a negative stereotype about being micromanaging control freaks, which yes is a stereotype but also yes has some truth to it (admit it!!) this is no easy task. just practice letting go. if you founder, practice some more.
libra: venus retrograde is an introspective time for you but if there's any time during the process that you should be out socializing it's this week, and if you don't want to then at least take some good selfies. the glow is unreal and people should see it, don't deprive them of your divine aura.
scorpio: frivolous for some but poignant for you. that's the vibe this week. others can't be expected to understand what you're going through, so you may feel a bit lonely in it all, but try to enjoy or at least appreciate the solitude such as it is and do something really kind for yourself, and then do something really kind for someone else, with no expectation of reward or even recognition.
sagittarius: jovial jupiter, your sign's ruler, gets beamed with a friendly trine from mercury, the merchant and trickster. little harmless deceptions or mistakes can actually work out in your favor, and if you're in any form of sales it is currently profitable.
capricorn: once a month, like this week, the moon treks through your relationships house in cancer. on the weekend you'll probably feel like settling in and settling down with a comfortable person. but make sure they are more than comfortable - your structured lifestyle needs more than a nap and a good meal.
aquarius: uranus in taurus has likely had you feeling out of your element. and the series of squares to that ruling planet of yours probably compounds the problem. the trick is to stay utterly true to yourself, while also embracing ways in which you can grow, especially in areas that involve nature - the grass, the trees, the dirt. get out of your mad scientist lair for just a bit.
pisces: increasing activity in virgo, much of which is shadowy and operatic, has you feeling a bit wuthering heights. partnered pisceans may be questioning their commitments or feeling questioned themselves. single pisceans are more likely than usual to find themselves in "situationships" they really wish were more, even if they struggle to admit it.

Gimme the tea on music gatekeeping OR restrictions on clothes when it comes to musically-inspired lifestyles and outfits 👀
hmm well. I think there is a lot to talk about when it comes to this and I’m assuming you’re talking about music based subcultures so that’s what I’ll be rolling with.
music based subcultures historically had a physical space: clubs, skate parks, house shows, college campuses, neighborhoods, malls, etc. Rising costs has made this almost impossible depending on where you live due to many factors. The majority of these communities developed amongst younger peoples so i’ll be talking about things that most relate to younger people.
The increase in parental anxiety over the safety of their children has made it hard for people to go to places where a music subculture would flourish regularly. In many places (mainly the US) public transport doesn’t exist in a meaningful way for people to reach farther away places, so that means you have to drive. so you have to get someone to take you and that means gas money, which is more expensive along with everything else so everyone has to work more.
you work so much to have money to scrape by so you don’t have any free time or as much extra cash to afford going to shows and support local acts. being a musician takes too much time away from work or school and when everything costs so much that is time you can’t afford to practice and play if there isn’t reasonable money in it. musicians don’t make sales in records or get local radio play (radio is a monopoly so small local stations can’t survive) anymore due to streaming so when you’re a very small act you’re making dirt.
so the subcultures are on a sort of life support, due to the poor economy. more budget friendly shows are in small amount due to more regulation around neighborhood noise rules and lack of parking (because everyone has to drive to the show) makes house venues very sparing. bars used to close and open and pop up all the time, but due to the increasing costs of running a business and laws around alcohol sales and minors, bars don’t have a lot of spare money for hiring music acts, and there aren’t as many to play in.
so this means music culture has to be online, and online there is a disconnect between aesthetics and the music because there is no real life location to experience the culture. In a goth club you dress up goth because it’s a social experience you want to participate in and you go out and listen to goth music, surrounded by people of all walks of life. An old guy in black skinny jeans and a ramones shirt can be goth because he is at a goth bar listening to goth music and participating in the subculture.
online, everything is image. It’s all about presentation and looks. you can be a poser because you aren’t going to shows. you can buy something labeled goth or punk on shein because you like the way it looks and not have to understand any history behind what participating in the subculture means. you don’t have people to learn from because you are isolated from older people who aren’t online to tell you about why buying fast fashion alternative clothing is stupid as fuck. you go on your merry way calling yourself a goth who’s favorite artist is polluter and billionaire t*ylor swift. you get people who’ve never learned a bit of history of the very real punk music subculture using the word to make posts saying ‘what punk is actually about is being soft and hugging friends’
I think the ‘problem’ of posers of subcultures is mainly from music becoming something in your phone rather than something to experience in a community 🤷 but of course this is just my opinion on rock based subcultures in mainly the United States because that’s the music I listen to and where I live so I can’t speak for literally anything else. and I’m always learning new things too so my opinions are ever changing as well
