This S/I I've had for a while now sense I finally toughened up and watched Markiplier's playthroughs of FNaF despite my fear of them, I just never talked about it because I don't know how to talk about it, sense it's the very first Kin self insert I've ever had.

Usually when I ~Vibe~ with a character I'll call it Kin, but this was a very different feeling and it took a while to figure it out. Once I did I kinda fell into imposter syndrome about the whole Kin thing sense I'd seen a lot of people take it a lot more seriously than I ever did, so I just.. quietly added the Nightmares to my F/O list and left it at that.

But now I'm finally here to say!!! I am the Crying Child!!

This Self Ship's funny to me because even in the FNaF Universe the Nightmare animatronics aren't Real so Nightmare Fredbear is still a Fictional Other fkgjfdkg

The entirety of the self ship happens while in a coma after the bite of '83, which you all know as FNaF 4. It's wasn't actually as scary as the game made it out to be... Well I guess at first is was.

The whole thing takes place in my house, but wrong. Like, my room has two doors and they won't latch, and all my toys look weird, and it's always night, and my head hurts all the time, and of course, there's animatronics in the hallways.

For a really long time I was super scared, I thought they were gonna eat me! But I spent a long long time with them and eventually became less scared. And then not scared at all eventually!

Sometimes I'd hear my dad or brother talking, but it'd be echoey and distant. Fredbear told me not worry about it too much. He's my best friend, so I trust him of course.

And, I mean.. That's it. It's not a very interesting self ship, just a child slowing succumbing to his wounds, comforted by the nightmares he had for years and years before.

The Ghost version is the thing that that Haunts the Narrative. It's as real as the Nightmares, and only Micheal and my Dad ever see it. I don't know what it is either, I just know it looks like me to them.

So... i’m back, and i want to talk about a movie i saw: Funny Games (the remake). This movie barely has a plot, barely has characters, and it moves at a snail’s pace; The peak of tension was a fakeout resolution, where you groan at the predictability, but at least it’s something, y’know? The lignering fear of the two killers coming back, the impending doom in every second... it could’ve been worse. But no, it was a “gotcha” moment, and in the end no one survives. I actually liked the real ending though, where the “funny game” happens again, implying it’s a continuous cycle of befriending and torture.

The general , however, is overshadowed by the director’s actual intention with this movie; “He says he wanted to make a message about violence in the media by making an incredibly violent, but otherwise pointless movie. “ (English Wikipedia)

For Fabrizio Fogliato, Italian critic and professor, the scenes were Paul directly addresses the camera are especially effective for this purpose, talking with the spectators and dragging them in like they were part of the game, partially victim and partially torturer“ (Italian Wikipedia) The director wanted to criticize pointless, mindless violence in media used strictly for entertainment purposes, by making a movie that’s the culmination of that, in all its emptier aspects: gratuitous sadism and nothing more. The characters are only superficially likable, with little to no personality, with the possible exception of the two torturers, who are blessed with the slightest characterization possible, to highlight the senselessness of the movie, of the violence.

This movie is like a delicious blood frosting, but with no cake underneath. And it knows that. It wants to be that. And it wants you to look for the plot, there, and anywhere else. It challenges you to find a meaning a sea of dense blood, leaving you with nothing, but it makes you try to search it in other media, it forces you to, it makes you face the abundant futility of most violence we consume, it makes you ask “why? Why is this happening?”. I frankly see this as a roasting of other extreme media, that more often than not relies on graphic tortures and nothing else; and, why not, a burn on peopel that fetishize true crime as well.  Its meaning is genius: the movie is both stressful and kinda boring on its own tho.

Would i recommend it? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh... maybe? See it for yourself if you can. And don’t hesitate to look away if you need to.

In which Luigi wants all the little things

A hot meal on a table, surrounded people you love and are loved by, in a crowded living room, in an apartment far too small to be shared by 9 people. This is the space Luigi had called home for 25 years now. It was the only place he really knew.

Standing in his empty bedroom, the wall faded save the obvious spots where posters and pictures and his cork board had hung for years and years, was far more surreal than he thought it'd be.

Then standing in a home, his home, their home, surrounded by boxes and boxes and a single musty old loveseat they'd bought from some guy down in Kings for $250, was even more surreal.

They'd spend their mornings here, and their nights and their evenings, in this space, in this world, away from a family who loved them, and who didn't know how much they'd loved each other.

He could see it now. Waking Mario gently because he knows how much he hates the morning with a hot cup of coffee and a kiss to the forehead. Making dinner as their mama taught him, but just for two. Snuggling quietly on stormy nights on that very musty loveseat, huddled as close as they want without worry of questions from their uncles as they'd come home.

He'd sit with his feet up on that couch reading, and Mario would bring him a cup of tea and push his legs out of the way to make room to sit. He'd watch his brother play that same old game, leaning on his shoulder and listening to him explain the same mechanics again.

Luigi wondered how long it'd take for them to fall asleep there, on that old beaten couch that was certainly not worth $250, tangled together as they'd always slept. Mario was always a couch napper, just like their father, and grandfather before them.

He wanted to kiss his brother awake when he came home late to him on the couch fast asleep with his game still on, controller still in hand, to apologize for taking so long, to ask if he'd eaten yet.

He wanted to be interrupted making breakfast with lazy, half awake kisses as Mario begged for him to come back to bed, a plea he would eventually give in to.

He wanted to welcome his brother home from wherever he may go with kisses and kisses and even more kisses all over his face, and he wanted to hear Mario laugh as he did so, laughter only interrupted by a confirmation "I missed you too"

He wanted to grow tomatoes in their yard and be brought a cool glass of lemonade on hot days, to be complimented on his work, to have his brother's hands on his hips, to push his brother away complaining it was too hot for the affection.

He wanted to dress up for dates, to wear nice clothes, to hear his brother call him "Smokin'" and "Gorgeous", to take his arm as they head out on a date somewhere public as a couple in a world that was allowed.

He wanted to make this house a home, slowly, moment by moment.

He wanted all the little mundane things everyone else already had.

He wanted to kiss Mario, here, in their living room, and feel no fear in doing so.

Luigi wondered quietly to himself if Mario wanted the same...
