Your shoulders slouched inward and your neck angled down, you look exhausted. Your hands sift through letters with a lethargy that makes them seem heavy, as though weights have been tied to your fingertips. Hair mildly unkempt, clothes wrinkled but clean, you're clearly in need of some time to yourself, or at the very least, time spent sitting down. 

Spencer knows all of this, but he doesn't know why you haven't told him what's wrong. Even if it's something small, he could help. Spencer's good at sorting things out because he has a truckload of self help books in his head. That, and he's seen a thousand types of grief. 

The thing is, he's desperate to take care of you, but he doesn't know how to start. What to say or how to say it. 

"Do you need help with that? I can do it for you," he offers. 

"That's okay. Just gotta pay this water bill… and the gas, too… I'm gonna call them."

"I can call them," he says. "Or if it can wait until tomorrow, we can do it then. Why don't you sit down? I can make dinner, we could order something." 

You peek at him from the corner of your eye. "What's wrong?" you ask. 

"With me? Whatever's wrong with you is wrong with me." 

You sigh and put your head on his shoulder. "Sorry, I'm being moody." Your breath warms his arm. "Sorry, Spence." 

Spencer looks down at the side of your head, contemplative for a few seconds, before he wraps one arm behind your neck and shoulders to pull you closer to his chest, the other falling to the small of your waist. 

Your forehead is cool against his bottom lip, his hair brushing your face as he says, "What are you sorry for?" all fondness. 

You don't react at first, but when you do it's clear you'd been waiting for a hug even if you hadn't known it yourself. Your back drops the tight tension stretched between your shoulder blades, your nose digging hard into his collarbone. 

Spencer closes his eyes to just hold you. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" he asks. No matter how over the top it sounds, he's dying to know, his hand roving the length and curve of your back in an attempt to coax it out while your defences are down. 

"Couple of things," you mumble into his shirt. 

"Anything I can fix?" he asks. 

Your hand curls into his shirt. "I think you're fixing most of it." 

Spencer smiles into your head. "Oh, yeah?" he asks, his lips skipping against your skin. "Tell me the rest of it and I'll fix that too." 

"You sound really confident." 

"I have, you know, a couple of qualifications." He pretends to yawn, "Three PhDs. Nothing fancy." 

You laugh weakly, sound smothered and nearly lost in the quiet. Spencer's not kidding, he really will fix everything one way or another, but for now he hugs you, taking the brunt of your weight. Your head lists heavily to one side as he dots a soft kiss into your temple.

Peri thought to himself. It had been a long day.

Dev was being bratty and putting on his holier-than-thou act. Peri wasn’t exactly sure why Dev was acting up, but nonetheless it was something., that’s for sure.

Dev was feeling mischievous today. He decided that being a sarcastic little shit was a great way to entertain himself.

It started simple, with him mixing not-names in with people’s names while talking to them. Y’know, calling Hazel Hazmat and Winn Watch.

But then, he started doing more. He pulled some minor pranks, pretended he was better than everyone and made smug, sarcastic comments frequently.

Man this was fun! He sure got a chuckle or two out of the incredulous faces of his friends.

After another sarcastic quip, Peri decided enough was enough. He needed to do something about this attitude problem.

Once they were at Dev’s house, Peri didn’t give him a chance to settle down before pouncing on him.

“Whahahat thehe-? Peheheri!”

“You’ve been having a bit of an attitude today, and I think it’s time to teach you a little lesson in kindness.” He summoned a sock puppet, the sock was purple with blue swirls on it, and had small black button eyes.

“This is Socky, and he’s here to teach you!”

Peri made sure to put on a silly voice whenever talking as Socky, still tickling with his other hand. “Hey, dev! I heard that someone’s being a little bit mischievous today!”

Dev laughed harder at the silly voice. “Yeheah- whahat abohout ihit?”

“Welll~” Socky began, “Being rude to other people isn’t a good thing to do, mister! Would you care to tell us why you’re doing so?”

“Cahause ihits fuhunny!”

“Well, we’ll just have to help you learn not to do that! And hey- maybe if we help you laugh enough you won’t feel the need to use others as entertainment!”

After finishing the little speech, Peri used the sock puppet to ‘chomp’ on Devs sides. Which, to devs surprise, actually tickled quite a lot!

“Pffthahaha ohoho gohosh!” He gently squirmed around and half-heatedly pushed at Peri’s hands.

“Aww~ does that tickle? Do the little chomps make you feel all giggly and light? Do the tickly tickles make you wanna laugh and laugh~” Peri teased, knowing how much it got to the kid.

Dev’s face immediately turned red. He figured that he could deny it. Y’know, because it makes him seem stubborn and cool. Definitely not because it might get him tickled more. Not at all.

“Nohohoho!”

“Oh they don’t? This doesn’t make you wanna laugh and giggle and squirm around all happy like~”

“Nuhuhuh-uhuhuh!”

“Well, then, I’m stumped! Why are you laughing then?”

Dev mustered up the sassiest response he could think of. “Becahahause yohour atehehempts tohoho gehet tohoo mehe ahare lahaughahable!”

“Oh really~ I think you’re lying to me, Dev~ if these little tickles aren’t making you wanna laugh then I guess you wouldn’t mind if did this~” as he said it, he moved both hands to Dev’s tummy, shaking it and Chomping gently with Socky, making silly chomping noises.

The kid’s laughter grew louder and faster at the sudden increase in sensation, but man was this fun. Despite his defiance, the tickles were in fact making him all giggly and happy. It was such a silly feeling, but it made him feel all light and fluttery, filling his systems with joy as he laughed his little heart out.

“See~ I can tell that this tickles Dev~ your sweet little giggles are all the answer I need! I think you were lying~ what do you think, Socky?”

He let up with the hand holding the puppet for a moment, to speak as it. “Mmm-hmm! Definitely lying! And you know what I think~”

“What?” “I think that he lied on purpose to get more tickles!”

“Aww, you think so~ how adorable.”

Peri’s attempts at ventriloquism were admittedly horrible, but Dev still found that his godparent talking to himself while tickling him was very silly.

“Well, you think we should give it to him~ after all, he was being kinda mean.”

“Ah, I don’t know.”

Suddenly, the tickles stopped. Dev stopped giggling slowly, and despite the smile that still adorned his face he was kinda disappointed.

“Maybe we should make him ask for it~ what do you think, Socky?”

“Excellent Idea, Peri! Let’s!”

Dev’s face immediately went bright red. They were gonna make him ask! That was so mean!

After a moment of silence, Peri spoke again. “Well~ you gonna ask politely?”

Dev mumbled under his breath.

“What was that? I didn’t quite hear you~”

Dev blushed even harder as he spoke.. “Will you.. please… tickle me.”

“Aww, of course! Thanks for asking so politely!”

Then, without any further delay, Peri started tickling Dev again. He laughed and laughed and had so much fun.

“Hey, Dev, you learn your lesson? You gonna be polite and nice to people?”

Dev didn’t know how to answer. On the one hand, if he said no Peri might stop- which he didn’t want just yet, but on the other hand causing mischief was kinda part of his personality he couldn’t just not do it ever.

At the hesitation, Peri sighed. “Alright, I’ll make it a bit easier. You don’t have to stop being mischievous entirely, just try not to actually hurt people’s feelings, kay?”

Dev laughed out an agreement, and then Peri kept tickling, happy to make his kid happy.

It took a minute, but eventually Dev tired out and told Peri to stop. He did, Getting rid of the sock puppet (he kinda liked the idea. Maybe he’ll use Socky more often.)

As Dev’s laughs died down, he sat up.

“T-thanks, Peri.”

“Ah, no problem, kid.”

They fell into a comfortable silence. Dev thought to himself. ‘Maybe I should have an attitude problem more often…’

so back to the q…. im afraid i dont have any mind blowing tips. its normal to feel overwhelmed as a beginner, but everyone starts somewhere! i say familiarize urself with basic procreate shortcuts (loads of tutorials online) and always play around with their settings! it should be helpful for the learning process along the way.

for eg ermm i used to abuse the gradient maps settings to pretend i know shit ab colouring 😭💀 i still do tbh, except now i understand how it actually works and i can easily get the colours that i want.

some of the things i learned:

1. cool lineart (i always use this as a part of my render process)

2. art is subjective, pick any that you think suits your preference/is fun to use

for brush, do you prefer it round or textured? lots of pressure sensitivity or none? i like my brushes textured and with a good amount of pressure sensitivity. for blending, do you prefer the transition colour to appear smooth or textured/messy? i sometimes mix between both to give a sense of harmony, but i like it textured more. it all comes down to what feels right to you. pick a few artyles that you like and incorporate it into ur own! pretty basic tip but thats the best way that i know. just pretend ur a mad scientist trying to find cure for like cancer or sumn

3. personal opinion: brush type matters

dont listen when someone says the type of brush u use doesnt matter. yes you can draw with any brush. yes all brushes work the same way 🤯🤯🤯. but theres gotta be that ONE brush that just hits the spot for you, as if its made specially for Your Hands….. unfortunately theres no shortcut to finding Your Brush. it took me 4 years of endless experimenting to find mine.

if ur curious on what brushes i use, i have it listed in my carrd. however i still experiment a lot and dont rly bother to update it, but those should be what i use the most/my top favs !

Hi, may you please spare some advice on what casual, but also cool in a hot climate, clothing a baby butch could look into wearing that’s a bit fashionable and isn’t just a shirt and a cargo shorts?

whew first of all donate any & all cargo shorts immediately (pretend tan france is telling you that Urgently). i do understand finding shorts can be kind of weird depending on ur body shape bc men’s shorts are often bulky & long. i prefer a 5’ inseam, but you can go for a 7’ if that feels better. under No circumstances should ur shorts hit ur knees lol. madewell has some pretty good options (if you can find one that’s mens & womens in-store that’s the best). pacsun usually has some pretty chill options. for online shopping, bearbottom shorts is not too expensive & has a lot of colors in both 5’ & 7’ shorts. i really like the swim shorts both& just made (not sure if they’re sold out). get lighter colors in the summer if you want for shorts, & just… no khaki.

& i love a t-shirt, but it’s in how it’s worn. i don’t think it even needs to be an interesting t-shirt, but it should have a fit & pov that looks intentional. i like to get my t-shirts a size up & tuck them in, sometimes pair them with an overshirt. if i know i’m going to be SWEATING & i want to wear a tshirt, i’ll wear something looser & actually thicker cotton in either black or white. i’ve had top surgery so i can wear tanks without stress but if binding is a concern, both& has some great tanks for ppl who bind.

if you do want to be more dressed up than a short/t-shirt combo, the answer is & will always be linen. a short sleeved linen button up (from really anywhere you like that fits well — uniqlo has both men’s & women’s in many earthtones for under $50!) is The Key. put it on as an overshirt over your t-shirt or wear it buttoned halfway in a french tuck. i prefer to stay away from patterns & bright colors bc it can easily look a little zany, but do your thing there. i have a few pairs of linen pants i also love, especially for things like taking my wife on a date, or if it’s just a cool day/nighttime activity etc. literally just… linen button ups & linen pants, even drawstring pants! if you wanna ball out, theory makes my favorite linen pants, but oak + fort is a close second & much more affordable. everlane also has all of these pieces in mens & womens & is very high quality!

idk ur shoe situation but two great options are always birkenstocks (the rubber ones are under $50 & v comfortable) and/or all white low air force 1s. a good all white sneaker is a great starter sneaker & will always go with everything. i myself prefer dunk lows but u gotta rly be wanting to invest in some sneakers to do that lmao but if you are! they’re cool

lastly, small accessories go a long way! i have a few chains, a small hoop earring, a ring (& my wedding ring but lol i don’t think we can count that as an accessory), & then sunglasses i love. i have a Beautiful watch from my wife but literally just a watch w a normal watch face & a leather band is better than nothing or wearing a smart watch out when there’s quite literally no need lol. a good baseball cap, either plain black or from a cool brand (mine for this summer is aime leon dore) is both a nice addition & also practical. do not & i mean Do Not carry around a backpack unless u Absolutely have to lol. masc cross body bags or canvas totes are much better if u need a bag

also:

- you can find tons of overshirts thrifting or at outlets! since they don’t have to fit perfectly it can be a great place to look for them

- i live & die by a good pair of light wash denim in the summer. allsaints & madewell always have beautiful denim, but you can look at levi’s as well, or thrift!

- tailoring is not expensive!!!!!!!!! if u find pants u love that are too long, just get them hemmed! fr it’s like $10, everyone needs a good tailor

- never underestimate a good sweatshort/t-shirt/overshirt/birks moment to go get a cup of coffee or something… 10/10

- i have definitely not been in a place financially to do this in the past, so pls take this w a grain of salt & of course do what’s best for your budget, but higher quality, simple fabrics ethically made are ALWAYS going to be best. they’ll last longer & keep their fit. launder ur clothes carefully too! hang drying pants & heavy cotton will get their lifespan to extend. & it’s 100% cool to find brands u love & stick to them. if u find a piece u like, u can get it in a few colors, rather than trying to find a bunch of other stuff. quality > quantity, capsule wardrobes are easier to wear & maintain

- some ppl whose fashion i like rn: courtney williams, arike ogunbowale, shanice van de sanden. & sue bird knows how to wear a short/button up summer set with the best of them. kristen kish Obviously. (& also i love mal from the queer ultimatum lmfaoooo)
