I present to you (finally) the FULL DCA refs for He's a Little Confused but He's Got the Spirit!

Forgot that I had to make six not two lmao

These took me like, 10 hours between today and yesterday, mainly bc I had to redo the initial lineart, coloring everything wasn't so bad after that, just took some time (even with shortcuts 😅). I've killed my tablet twice though (got these uploaded at 11% babyyy)

SO I hope y'all enjoy, they are a labor of love for sure. Please quick for better quality. Please.

Anyway, are they perfect? No, but am I happy with them? Yeah for sure. At the very least, the designs are something I'm pleased with, I pulled some inspo from medival jester outfits and then additionally made up some of my own little flares. Still need to learn more with anatomy and coloring, but I'm getting better with lineart and rendering and I'm very pleased with those aspects ^-^

Some old OC refs I failed to post that. Well. Yes. I just failed to post them, really. But... I need to OC brainrot more on my blogs in ways that ARENT my twst OCs bc I do have other characters and I do love them very much. So... Info under the cut I guess? Pls ask me things about my sillies pls

Phen: A rather buff but kindhearted blaze gaian (a fantasy race I've been developing for a long while...) with a love for flight, physical fitness, and collecting odd trinkets. He lost his horn after he crash landed into a rock (and subsequently became concussed) but will tell you it was because of some epic fight to sound cool.

Gaerth and Avalan ("Ava"): a pair of earth gaian siblings (of opposing sub-elements) who grew up traveling the country and wound up settling in a city with a bunch of other humans.

Gaerth is a music artist known for their video game fan songs and some of his remixes. He's also a vtuber under the alias "Woods Wanderer" but most people just call xem "WW" or "Wanderer" for short. He works at a local music store and has an incredibly lax and easygoing demeanor.

Ava is a college undergrad studying art and dance. She might seem a bit persnickety or hot tempered, but usually that's because she's busy with something. When she's not working on her next artistic masterpieces, though, she works at her campus bookstore.

Luna and Europa: some of my oldest OCs tbh I love them so much (to my exactly one friend who remembers these two and the prev two from their Homestuck troll era, you know how it was for them). They've had a good many iterations and now they're merfolk. Because it's fun and I like mermaids so... Yeah?

Luna is an incredibly timid and gentle woman with a passion for... A lot of things, actually. She loves baking and crochet, but she also loves flower gardening, romance, and she wants to be a teacher for young children. She has generally poor luck in relationships, though, which definitely has affected her for the worse.

Europa is Luna's older sister by a good few years. Growing up, Luna did not see Europa for the longest time past a certain point, thanks to a rather unsavory relationship that Europa unsuspectingly got herself into. It fundamentally changed who she was as a person, and when she returned to the city where Luna (and most of my other OCs in general live), it took her quite some time to return to some semblance of normalcy. She is married again, though, to an OC of one of my IRLs, and her stepson is another one of my OCs who I might post at a later date, Damien.

Hi!!! I actually DO have some designs of the siblings, had to sit and make them as they've just been living in my head lol

So, I kind of keep things kind of vague since you know, it's a reader insert and everybody is different in terms of looks, BUT as mentioned in the fic, Gabe take's after Rick for sure. So he's got his dad's eyes and hair color. I imagine when he gets older his hair will also get a little curlier as well. Otherwise, just your typical baby, which I'm not good with drawing kids so he is 100% based on a ref lmao (and yes, those are Bonnie Bowl pjs Lisa picked out for him)

Lisa on the other hand looks more like Reader/Reader's mom. Therefore, her design has a lot more range for being open to interpretation. She got the curls from Rick/his family tho :) She likes skirts bc she believes them to be 'perfect for battles of all kinds'. She also did NOT lose that tooth by headbutting a kid at recess she would NEVER do such a thing-

As for writing, I love it very much! Confused Spirit is my first published piece of writing in a while, (I hadn't posted anything for a year and a half before that, six months probably since the last time I wrote) so if you're curious that's why I always get so overly excited when people like the fic haha

Frost Manor: Floor Plans

Got asked for Frost Manor floor plans and I uh. I went a little crazy...

Apologies for the quality--got too excited to ink em and wanted to share ASAP! I'll add on the inked versions At Some Point. Info and select close ups below the cut!

First/Ground Floor

It's a pretty straightforward floor!

Has LOTS of space because I have no concept of scale lmao

Let's go TOP DOWN, starting with: The Kitchen

It is Blaise's pride and joy. Fave room in the house. That's why it's so BIG i.e., LONG. He is also the primary cook so when they were building the house, Winter was like "ah yes. for all matters on the kitchen please defer to Blaise"

It has a WEIRD WALL that, as you can see, kept giving me HELL. But it is there and exists and makes a fun little nook which is where the kitchen table is and the entrance to the Den

the Den entrance is CLOSER to the table. Plz ignore the one over the blue parlour lol, I had. A STRUGGLE

That weird hallway is just inner wall for the chimney/fireplace shit to hide

Frost Manor has a LOT of fireplaces. I included the ones I know of for SURE but I believe there is also one in: The Den, the dining Room, every single parlour room there, and MAYBE the ballroom.

I did a CLOSE UP with MORE DEETS of the KITCHEN FOR Y'ALL:

Idk what goes on that slashy bit? Could be tall cupboards. Could be a broom closet. May actually be the dishwasher now that I think about it which, yes, they have one, Winter just doesn't pay much mind to it 🤭🤭🤭

The "desk corner" is like, a separate shelf that I believe is called a chef's shelf/pantry? Looks like this. We had one when I was little and it was iron and looked similar to this and I picture the one at Frost Manor to look like the one my parents had! but like longer lol and less full of paper

The Three Parlours: top one is the blue one where winter chats with the other seasons via crystal ball; middle one is ????? lord only knows, but I think it's yellow, and the one at the front is the front room aka, the room where Jacqueline waited. Like in this scrimbly >:)

That about covers it for the Ground floor! I shall end this blurb with a CLOSE UP of the FRONT PORCH and BACK DECK

Second Floor

This floor. Is the goddamn twilight zone. Here is why

Blinter's Room is top right (our left), far back of the house. It does not have windows on the bottom half of the room. And yet. I keep picturing windows down there and perhaps, Balcony Doors. And keep doing that like, unconsciously. Like in this close up of their room:

See how it says balcony there??? Yeah. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING.

The OTHER twilight zone esque thing is the TWINS'S ROOMS

It also has windows. I have written about those windows. But for some odd reason lately. I have gotten the vibe. That their rooms are NOT right up against the wall, but in the MIDDLE. And that there is a whole ass second hallway with guest rooms that magically come and go as needed.

Oh my god.

And THEN. I also get the vibe that the SPARE ROOMS are NOT behind the twins's rooms, but BESIDE IT?? Which lead me to THREE (3) POTENTIAL LAYOUTS FOR THE SECOND FLOOR:

And looking at this I think I fucked up option B, lol, bc it should be the one with the LONG Fino and Fiera rooms like in the main floor.

Suffice to say, this manor is 5000 years old at LEAST and I feel as though Blaise has shifted rooms a BUNCH and TONS of reno has happened so. Maybe the second floor just IS twilight zone-y, IDK

BUT! I think that Fino and Fiera's rooms are DEFFS windowed, so it's most likely the long one, and Blinter's room is at the back corner of the house so the floor plans with that one are ACCURATE

The very bottom one is how I originally pictured the second floor, lol, but I feel as though the gallery wasn't always the gallery! I think Blinter also had a separate sitting room originally and it was the gallery but like, that's HUGE.

And I need you all to know that the rooms. Are tight and cozy bc they are filled with STUFF and THINGS. Even the GALLERY has seating in it! AHHHHH

but yeah. Second floor is an enigma. Idk.

Fun second floor fact: Were Pyros to get a redemption arc (👀👀) his room would be on that floor >:)

Third Floor

aka, cold front palace/flats!

This one gave me the LEAST amount of problems. Well, almost.

Jack's suite was a PROBLEM bc I kept picturing his bed like. In the middle of the room with no walls like a PSYCHOPATH and based on the convo he has with Jacqueline in Chapter uh. 19? 18? 17? JUST BEFORE MARKET DAY!! The door to his sitting room is on an angle?

AND THEN his convo with Fino in Chapter 23? 22? When he teleports into his room? It sounds like the door is like. In the middle of his room. Into the HALLWAY. And I didn't GIVE THEM hallway doors it's a SUITE LOOKING THING, IDK

SO YEAH

The third floor also has attic access and the attic is v small and mostly storage--probz like an antique market all up in there

They also have space there for a magic guest bedroom, too, which! As a fun fact, is where Bernard's room is in Frostmas! :)

soo YEAH there's a rough idea of what the place looks like. Um. There IS a Pinterest board for Frost Manor! It has not been updated in forever BUT IT IS THERE. WITH INSPO. And I'm fond of it bc I love colours and Frost Manor is colourful as frost lmao 🤭🤭

To cap off this pride month, a few of my queer headcanons for Carmen Sandiego (2019) characters!

I headcanon Player as a trans boy and Carmen as a trans woman! I also definitely think Carmen's sapphic but I don't have a more specific identity in mind for her.

Julia is a lesbian ofc. Her shirt is inspired by this retro lesbian shirt! If I had seen it before inking I would have made it an actual shirt with a collar and all but alas I saw it too late.

And I headcanon Devineaux as a trans man. His jacket was heavily based on this vintage jacket, obviously with the colors reworked. That's his new lucky coat probably.

(I have headcanons for other characters but since they're less fixed I won't talk about them here)
