I made a coding infographic/slideshow for anyone getting into coding and are stuck! I'm seeing a lot of new codeblr blogs coming up recently and they're all beginners and I have been getting a lot of asks which basically all ask "I'm new to coding, how do I start?", so I decided to make this at 1am in the morning real quick! 🥲😭

I genuinely hope that this resource proves beneficial to someone out there. And remember, if you find yourself still facing challenges or need assistance with anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help! ✨

Going to go on a little rant but my god I'm sick of how undervalued maths is. I hate that for the past 10 years, including primary school, whenever I tell people I like maths I get asked if I'm insane. I hate that in a country that has made major contributions to maths, there's barely any effort to keep up that history and support new mathematicians.

I hate that I can't criticise people who also do stem that go on and on about how everything relating to maths is stupid and useless because "that's just how they feel"...Even when they're doing computer science. And said computer scientists complain every. Single. Time. When a maths equation appears.

I hate that I can't point out how it's weird how people demonize mathematics itself instead of how it's taught, which is where the problem usually lies. I hate that I'm expected to drop mathematics entirely to go into a "proper" job like programming instead of research into population models and simulations. I hate how maths is being co-opted by people making points about "how simple the world is" when maths is nothing like they portray it to be. I hate that maths is seen as a field only of white, cishet men when there's been so many women, poc and queer people that have done groundbreaking work.

I hate that we're in a world where mathematics is so important to everyday life, and yet the idea of actually studying maths and continuing research into it is frowned upon.

• C# - spent ~1 year so far practicing, more comfortable, can build whole sites/programs with little help

• HTML & CSS - started ~5 months ago, confident in both, can style a site without help online, still much to learn

• JavaScript + Vue - Axios - can build “full stack” applications where i do both backend & frontend and host online (love JS!!)

• REST - experienced for 5 months! can build my own REST API, use someone elses with axios & test it thoughoutly with Postman (+Javascript code)

• Unit testing & UI testing - learned so many better ways to unit test & UI test more indeph

• Started leaning Git more with commands

• SQL - can manipulate simple databases and more one from scratch

& huge thanks to my sister @niyacodes for being on this journey with me 💓

++++ I went to a 5 hour exam for all these subjects (+- more) and got the highest grade possible 🥹 (i failed my first programming exam in 1st sem!!!!) ((pic is my favorite after study-snack))

How to learn: HTML | Resources ✨

I have come back with a new resource I've made! This time about how to learn HTML! I'm starting from the basics right now and working my way up of 'how to learn' info resources!😅

I've made a HTML resource in the past (one | two) but this one is a bit more detailed and has tips of how I studied HTML. I use HTML on the daily so though I would share my knowledge with more people. Again, just like my previous resource "Starting your coding journey", this is more targeted towards absolute beginners or for people who want to learn how to customise their Tumblr blog/Neocite! 👩🏾‍💻

I'm reading this book about artificial intelligence for university, and this line on how intelligence is a result of the interaction of non intelligent parts with one another is kinda motivational. If you're struggling with your studies and, like me, think you're too dumb for academia, just remember that the AI overlords who will bring apocalypse upon us once, too, started from nothing. Thank you for coming to my motivational speech. Hope it has helped.

Hi, if you don’t mind me asking what computer or pc do you use? I’ve been looking in the market for one. And haven’t been able to narrow down which would be a good fit.

This is what I have but I bought my laptop about 3 years ago for full price. I’ll say I love the ability to upgrade my RAM but if I were to buy something now, I would purchase a lenovo legion 5i gaming pc. I recommend building your own pc BUT it can be tricky, you can purchase a pre built pc however most computer company’s prioritize profit over quality.

It's fascinating to me to watch Fantasy High as a Dutch person because a lot of the "universal high school student" stuff they mix into the story is pretty much equally alien to me as the actual high fantasy elements. Brennan mentioned how the 3am diner hang with friends was so integral to his teenage experience but here there are no diners. Nothing is open at 3am, not even the McDonalds drive through, so unless a friend's parents are out of town, you're either on the street or in bed. I was not a cool kid. I was in bed. And then there's all the stuff about extracurriculars, trying to get into good schools, having to hustle to get colleges to notice you, and uhhh I clicked a button on a website and my uni said "cool see you next year". I wasn't an exceptional student or anything, I was extremely worried about my grades at age 16, I was worried I'd be bumped down to a different level of high school or held back a year, but dropping out is illegal until you're an adult so that was definitely not on the table. My experience was also not universal for here, and I'm sure this is all also not representative of every US kid's high school experience, but it's still interesting just how far apart the averages are.

I didn't post anything yesterday because the only productive thing I did was my workout

Started preparing for my object-oriented programming test (Wednesday) 🖥️

- 3/50 problems solved

I'm probably gonna grind this tomorrow

◇ My bio test went really well, btw! 🙌 I feel like I've finally started getting back on track :)

◇ Next week I have 2 days off from school, I'll finally get to sleep in hehe

◇ Deep cleaned my room

◇ Workout ✅ - Le Sserafim workout day 6! I feel stronger now 💪
