I feel bad- think I my “take care of your mother the way she took care of you” may have spoken something into the universe.

My mother has strep throat on Mother’s Day. 🤒 😬

Also interesting to me this morning-

It says a lot about our society that my mother visibly relaxed when I offered to stay home so she had an excuse to send my Father to Church. And she’s not wrong.

WOULD he have taken care of her? Absolutely. He would have tried. But he wouldn’t have any of his own thoughts, done exactly what she told him, and little else. Maybe make a substitution when he couldn’t find something (which would be often).

I will have my own ideas for actively making her comfortable, double check if she needs things, ask for preferences if substituting needs to happen.

The way men and women are raised differently is WILD.
