Cullen family x adopted!human!male reader(!platonic!)
Warning: hurt/comfort, three original characters, readers friend sucking, a potential new friend tho, swearing, fighting, blood, getting arrested, mostly Carlisle centered.
Words: 2364
Summary: Y/n Cullen wants to tryout for the Baseball team
(A/n: I’d just like to say fuck Stephanie Meyers. Also this is my first request fill so yay!)
Request by anonymous : Cullen family x adopted!human!male reader hurt/comfort(?) where R wants to try out for the school baseball team, but his friends have little faith in him so he starts to self-doubt. So the rest of the Cullens help their youngest sibling practice and he eventually gets on the team. :)
The Forks High School baseball team had just lost a player. Well, not ‘lost’ but he decided that he'd rather play basketball instead, leaving an open spot on the team just a month and a half before baseball season. And you decided to fill that spot. Last season, tryouts had filled up quicker than anyone could have possibly thought they would, but the entirety of the old team was graduating that year, so with twenty-six spots open, people -most not even knowing how to play- flooded the coach in applications. And in an attempt at management, a team was hastily picked and tryouts were closed before you even got a chance.
While that first season was beyond painful to watch, they've gotten better over the last year, way better.
Ronan leaving the baseball team was, for the most part, a secret, at least for the time being. But he knew you liked to play, so he told you, and while you weren't friends with Ronan, you're glad you were the first he considered to take his spot.
That same day, in between classes, you practically ran to the coach's office and asked for an application.
Turns out applications had changed a bit from last year. Considering the fiasco that was the previous tryouts, he'd made it a bit harder to join. Instead of applications being a simple one-page, name-birthday-signature ordeal like it had been for years, it's become a ten page contract.
‘To weed out the fakers’ he said.
Now you were sitting in the schoolyard on the second to last step of the bleachers, half watching the team practice, half trying to fill out this seemingly never ending application.
“‘Have you ever broken a bone?’ no..” you muttered to yourself, checking off another box among dozens of other tiny boxes.
While the questions weren't particularly hard, there were hundreds of them. And you understood why but goddamnit this used to be so simple.
Leaning back against the beaches you watched as the eighth inning began, short words were exchanged between members as they switched spot, the catcher, a guy named Thomas, let out a playfully excruciating yell as he stood from his squating position for the first time nearly 20 minutes, his teammates laughed, and you let out a small chuckle along with them before returning your attention to the application.
‘Do you have siblings? If so, how many?’ was the next question on the packet.
Another filler question, as many had been, only maybe 20 of the questions retained to your health, or your ability to play.
A few minutes later and you were still answering questions, but kept a mental score of of who did what and how much longer until the ninth inning.
A few more minutes passed and you were nearly done, just a page and a half to go. You could get that done before practice was even over. You clicked your pen as you tried to think when was the last time you went to a doctor that wasn’t Carlisle.
Then, without warning, the application was pulled from your hands.
Looking up you saw the sudo captain of the Forks Baseball team, Apollo, who you only really knew two things about, both his parents were Greek mythology nuts, and despite baseball teams not technically having a captain, he was the captain. He dragged the team out of the mud by himself, and then proceeded to knock every game of the season out of the park.
And for a reason you couldn’t comprehend, he smiled down at you after quickly glancing over your application.
“You joining the team?” He asked, slightly out of breath (he ran across the field to talk to you).
“I’m going to try..” you responded quickly.
He chuckled, leaning up against the fence separating the two of you he said, “That’s good, we need someone like you-” he passed the application back, “You’ve been at basically every practice and game this team has ever had, won’t take you long to get the hang of things.”
“I play with my siblings all the time, playing on this team shouldn’t be too hard..”
At that, his smile widened.
“You’re confident, I like that. Can’t wait to have you on the team..”
He turned as the current right-fielder called him over.
“I expect you to see you at tryouts- on time, alright Cullen?”
“Alright..”
Tumblr media
“Have you lost you’re goddamn mind!” Your self proclaimed ‘best-friend’, Jamison shouted.
You felt like your eardrum was going to burst if he kept yelling in your ear like that. You were driving him home and chatting when the topic of baseball came up, while he wasn’t too much of a fan, his older brother was on the baseball team. The moment you told him you were trying out he blew up.
“Maybe the rest of your siblings might stand a chance but come on Y/n, be realistic for a moment.”
“I am, I’ve been playing for years, I'm pretty sure I can make the team.”
He groaned, rubbing his hand down his face in frustration,
“Dude, the entire team is getting full ride scholarships, you can’t just come in and fuck that up!”
Stopping at a red light you turned to face him, “Who says I’m going to fuck it up?”
“Just..” he groaned again, “You’re not as good as them man.”
“You’ve never seen me play.”
“Still, just think about it playing with your siblings is different, they go easy on you because they don’t want to hurt your feelings, other teams won’t give a shit about you or your feelings!”
The light turned green and you moved your foot from the breaks to the gas, thinking just how wrong he was. This asshole had never seen you play, he didn’t even know anything about the sport and he was trying to tell you that you’d bring the team down.
“Whatever man,” You muttered.
You tried to ignore his words as best as you could, but such heavy doubt coming from one of your closest friends stung. Tapping your finger against the steering wheel, you breathed in deeply in an attempt to calm the anger that was slowly bubbling under your skin.
“Y/n, I love you man, but don’t do this, you’re good at…stuff, but not this. Just let somebody else try.”
You sighed, slamming your foot on the breaks, making Jamison jerk forward, nearly slamming his head on the dash board. You looked at your rear view mirror, no cars as far as you could see, you look forward, no cars. Then, as though the past three years of friendship meant nothing, you said,
“Get out.”
“What?”
“You heard me, get out of my car.”
He scoffed, sitting back in his seat, “Are you serious?”
After a second of silence he got out of the car.
And you got out right after him.
Tumblr media
The familiar smell of human blood traveled through the Cullens’ home, followed by your scent, followed by Charlie’s.
Four loud knocks echoed through the quiet house, all were hesitant to move. But Carlisle, being the closest to the door, moved to open it.
Behind it he found a very irritated Charlie who was holding your arm behind your back. Blood ran from your nose all the way down to your chin, but other than that you seemed mostly unharmed.
Charlie gave a quick glance to you, then back to Carlisle.
“Found him fighting some kid in the middle of the road.” He said, sounding almost as disappointed as Carlisle felt.
You refused to met your fathers eyes. You have never disappointed him before, not in this way at least. You knew that fighting Jamison would lead to you getting in trouble with Carlisle eventually, you imagined every scenario as you rode home in the back of Charlie's car, but Carlisle crushing gaze of disappointment was harder to face than anything you could have imagined
You tuned out their conversation, but never missed the looks Carlisle would give you every so often, disappointment and worry clear on his face.
You didn’t move until you felt your fathers hand on your shoulder, pulling you into the house.
You heard something along the line of “don’t do it again” from Charlie and then the front door closing behind you.
Now you were facing the entire Cullen family, your family, as they swarmed you with questions. Questions you really didn’t want to answer, not now anyways. So, the moment you found an opening, you slid passed them and up the stairs. While any of them could have stopped you at any moment, they didn’t, instead watching as you climbed the stair and disappeared behind the wall, a second later they heard your door slam shut.
Tumblr media
Laying on your bed, armed crossed over your chest, glaring at the ceiling above you, irritation coming off of you in waves as the fight replayed in you mind. You kicked his ass but he got a single good shot at you and it was with a rock, not even with his own fist the fucking coward. What kind of person throw stones?
You groaned in frustration, you should have put his ass to the goddamn hospital, maybe that would have given him some time to figure out how to not be a total dick!
You don't know how long you sat there stewing in your own frustration, but someone did eventually come to check on you. You heard the knocks, still you hesitated to get up. You didn't feel like talking, or explaining yourself. You did what you did and that was final.
But, then your father's soothing voice called for you and all the stubbornness you'd been harboring to avoid persecution slipped away.
Pushing yourself up and out of bed you walked to the door, and were met by Carlisle's no longer disappointed face, now replaced by worry.
He sighed before he spoke, grabbing your face and examining your still-bleeding nose.
A moment later you were both sat on your bed as he prodded your nose, tissue held to your nose as he asked you.
“Does this hurt?”
“No.”
He moved to another spot.
“What about this?”
“No.”
He sighed again.
“It's not broken, are you hurt anywhere else?”
“No.”
With that he sat back.
“So are you going to tell me why you fought Jamison, I thought he was your best friend?”
“He was,” Groaning, you said, “until today!”
Falling back onto the bed with a huff, letting your legs dangle off the edge.
“Do you remember what happened last year? With the tryout for the baseball team?”
“Yes, you said they were over before they even started, why?”
“One of the members of the baseball team dropped out, and he specifically asked me to try out and take his place.”
Carlisle smiled, but it faded quickly once he saw the hurt expression on your face.
“That's a good thing, isn't it?”
His words only frustrated you more. not with him, but with your so-called best friend, “It is! But when I told Jamison, he blew up on me- told me I'd only bring the team down. Then he told me to not even try because he thinks I'll fuck up their scholarship.”
“Sorry, I just-” you sighed, “it's just so stressful- I don't know if I even want to join the team anymore. I don't even know if I could! I went through all that trouble with applying and I don't know if they’d even let me on.”
Another sigh left Carlisle. Without saying a word he wrapped his arms around you, his cold embrace comforting beyond anything else. You huffed, irritation and betrayal still scorched through your vein but this lessened it.
A moment passes and you mutter, “thanks dad..”
“It’s alright son..” after a moment he continued, “never take advice from someone who doesn’t have your best interest in mind. As your father, I have nothing but your best interest in mind, so I'll tell you this-”
He pulled back for a second, looking down at you, a small smile on his face.
“Try out for the team, you've played with vampires, I'm sure a group of human boys will be more than impressed with your skills.”
With another sigh you held back a grin, your mood- and your heart- feeling tons lighter.
“Well if you insist, I guess I'll have to-”
And then your door was slammed open, the entire Cullen clan standing behind it, except for Emmett, who'd accidentally pushed the door open by pushing his body weight against it while your siblings were violently eavesdropping.
“…surprise?” Alice tried, holding up a metal bat as both a peace offering and mild defense.
“We were just uh-” Emmett started, but fell short.
“-going to help you practice…for your tryout.” Belle finished smoothly- well as smoothly as she could with a speech pattern as unconventional as hers.
With a wide grin Alice tossed the bat at you, you caught it seamlessly, having done it thousands of times over the years.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Tumblr media
Tryouts were over. You were laid out on the dirt, which you were also covered in, the other attendees were in similar positions. Though some were closer to passing out from exhaustion than others. You, on the other hand, we’re just enjoying the sunshine and the breeze after a surprisingly tame tryout.
You closed your eyes, taking in your surroundings with your other sense, the most prominent of which was you potential competition gasping for air just a few feet away.
“You’re not even tired?” A familiar voice said.
Opening your eyes, you saw Apollo, nearly blocking out the sun.
“Not really.”
He let out a short laugh, looking over at the rest of the candidates with his hands on his hips.
“Well, shit- ain’t that something.”
He kneeled down next to you.
“So coach is the one who usually makes these calls with who gets picked after tryout, but you know what I’m pretty damn sure it’s gonna be you.”
“Really?”
“Really, I’ll see you at our next practice-“ then, unexpectedly he whipped his baseball cap off and tossed it onto your face, “-rookie.”

I want to know if the graduation cap mural in the Cullen’s house makes sense. Like was it possible for them to graduate that many times.
Like how many times have they moved and how many times have they graduated?

what did you do ? • Emmett cullen
Emmett cullen! x Reader!fem.
not my gif.
warnings: language.
summary: i hate doing these js read to find out 🤎
Tumblr media
paul and i started dating about a year after Emmett and the rest of the cullens left town, i missed Emmett i’d have to admit, but i tried and failed at convincing him to stay for me, but i clearly failed.
the cullens had came back a little over a few weeks ago, i was currently on my way home from skating, but it started raining. rain. one thing i hate about skating, it ruins boards.
“you’ve been ignoring me” i heard a very familiar voice coking from the living room, as i walked into the house.
“no i’ve been mysteriously keeping my space” i said as the tall, buff, and beautiful, pale man stood up, i leaned back again the wall looking up at the ceiling.
“why won’t you look at me ?” he asked softly, i heard his footsteps getting closer to me, that’s when i felt the frozen skins of his fingertips on my elbows, i tried to look everywhere but at him.
“i can’t.” i said bluntly, trying to remove myself from this situation.
“yn, please” he tried to grab my jaw, trying to force me to look at him, we were together for centuries, i kinda just got used to the feeling of his cold hands on me, but after this time without his hands and paul’s warm hands instead, had my feelings everywhere.
“emmett you left me, i was over it, i found someone new, and now you show up here !? after all this time, no call, no letter, no explanation ! and now you just want me to act like it’s fine !? it’s not Emmett, it’s not fine !” i shouted at him, he stepped back acknowledging what he had done.
“look i know and i’m sorry, i am so so so sorry, but i didn’t have a choice !” he tried to explain himself, but honestly i didn’t want to here it, not right now anyway, i’m going to paul’s tonight.
“you need to leave, i have places to be and people to see” i told him, pushing him towards the door.
“you mean paul ?” he asked, i looked up to see his face, all broken and hurt, i let out a breathe i didn’t know i was holding in and nodded, closing the door.
once i changed i was on my way to see paul.
*
once i arrived at emily and sam’s, i got out my car and walked through the open door, it’s was dark outside, so they were inside watching a movie.
i said hello to emily who was with sam in the kitchen, before walking to the living room.
i sat down beside paul “hey”
“hey beautiful” he kissed my forehead, pulling me into his side.
“what happen to you lip ?” i asked him, noticing that it was a little purple, he just looked down to the ground and sighed.
“this should be fun” embry spoke getting up and walking out the living room, the rest of the pack following him.
“what did you do ?” i asked him standing up, i had no thoughts my mind just went blank. nothing.
“listen me and emmett kind of had it out earlier” he tried to calm me down, he tried to grab my hands once he stood up, i pulled my hands back.
“did you hurt him ?” i asked, not want to go all tribrid on him. his silence was the answer. “what did you do !?” i asked running to the back door and running through the woods, crossing over to the cullens land.
alice either saw me coming for edward could hear my thoughts, cause carlise and esme were already outside, holding the door open.
i stopped one they saw me, i gave them a pleasing smile, before carlise nudged his head up, gesturing for me to come on.
“he’s okay just a little sore” carlise spoke, thank god i thought, i walked inside hearing emmett’s soft, sweet, but deep voice.
“yn, is that you ?” once i heard where the voice was coming from i run upstairs and in that direction.
i walked into the living area where emmett was laid out on the couch, edward and rosalie stood up and walked out, jasper and alice probably still out on the look for victoria.
“are you okay ?” he asked me.
“you’re the one sitting on the couch, hurt. and you’re asking me if i’m okay ?” i questioned him sitting in front of him on the coffee table, he shrugged his soft golden eyes meeting mine.
“i was trying to figure out if you were gonna come, then aloce had a vision” he said.
“i’m sorry” i told him, maybe if i would’ve just looked at him earlier he would be okay, or maybe if i just kept him a little at my house a little longer, or if he wasn’t such a dumbass he wouldn’t have done it.
“it’s not you fault, only person i can blame is myself.” he paused. “and maybe that asshat paul” he said i scoffed a bit and rolled my eyes.
“next time there’s a chase don’t be such a dumbass. the wolves can handle their side of the land” i told him, he chuckled before nodding.
“especially now that they have you” he said looking down.
“hey, you have me emmett. you always have” i said, he looked up at me and smiled, palming my face, pulling me into a kiss, i smiled into it, finally having him back.
i pulled away from the kiss, resting my hands on the sides of his face, i pulled him into a hug, his head into my neck.

Chapter 20
Time moved weirdly when you were stuck in the same routine. Days muddled together, only certain events sticking out. There were no beginnings or ends. There were only moments awake and moments asleep. That was how (Y/N) could tell that time had passed. When she was conscious, she could see that things had changed.
Her life consisted of work, school, Paul, her friends, and her family. There was nothing more. There was nothing less. Simply the same cycle, over and over again. It was good enough in the beginning. The semblance that things were getting better made her want to believe it.
But time was not kind to lies. As the seconds passed, the harder it was to keep her cracked façade whole. She could smile, she could laugh, she could enjoy life as it happened to her. Still, there was something that was always missing. A gaping hole in the middle of her chest that she covered every day.
(Y/N) had to believe that things got better. Even if at that moment it felt like things would turn worse, she needed to believe that they would change. She was getting everything she had dreamed of, everything she had worked so hard to obtain. And yet, there was a sadness inside her that didn’t allow her to enjoy it.
Two months had passed since the last time she had cried for them. Eight weeks since her eyes had dried and the pit had opened inside her. Since she had rid herself of the idea that they were ever coming back… that he was ever coming back.
She thought over the words she had told Bella. She needed to take a first step; any step that would make the life she was living real. She owed it to herself, she owed it to her mother, she owed it to her brother, she owed it to every person that had been beside her through it all.
“What’re you doing in my room, Paul?” (Y/N) was startled as she saw her friend’s reflection in the mirror before her. She had been focused on studying; her head engrossed in her books all afternoon. “Is everything okay?”
“Not exactly,” Paul responded “Jacob Black is going through his first shift and he’s freaking out. Won’t listen to anyone, not even Embry.”
“Where is he?”
“He’s in the woods with Sam and Embry.”
She followed the boy out of the house and into the darkness of the forest. Why they needed her help, she did not understand. (Y/N) was the least versed in the supernatural world. But if there was something she understood it was feeling scared and overwhelmed by it. It was an all-consuming implosion of the mind. Everything they had known as reality became a rose-colored canvas over what was truly happening.
Far into the trees and away from the town, Sam and Embry stood before a giant russet-furred wolf. The animal moved from side to side, his eyes far away and scared. The boys tried to calm him, lifting their arms in a show of peace. But it did nothing to calm the poor boy that was stuck in his wolf form.
“Guys, step away from him,” (Y/N) called as she closed the distance between her and the wolf. “He’s scared.”
“Paul, I told you not to bring her here,” Sam seethed. “She could get hurt. Again.”
“He did nothing wrong,” she reprimanded. “Just get away from him, please.”
They quickly did as told, leaving the girl and the wolf. But she could still feel her brother’s cautious stare following her every move. (Y/N) was tentative in her steps, showing Jacob no sign of danger. She stared into the brown of his eyes, trying to connect with the scared boy beyond the animal.
It had only been a week since he had confronted (Y/N) regarding Embry. He had taken her by surprise, wondering why his best friend had suddenly started to avoid him and Quil, and had started hanging out with Sam’s group. She had done what she could, but the boy was too angry to stand reason.
He had rapped harshly against her front door, his knuckles beating against the wood loudly. She had been studying, far too focused on her books to know who it could have been at that hour. It was late at night and her mother had left only two hours before to work. And there was no chance that it had been Paul or Embry since they were out on patrol that night.
She sauntered down the stairs, fear clutching at her limbs as she walked. There was no reason for anyone to be knocking on her door that loudly. It made her tremble, but she was smarter than to allow fear to overtake her.
“Jacob?” (Y/N) had called out in surprise as she swung open the door. “What are you doing here at this hour?”
“Look, (Y/N), I have nothing against you ‘cause you have always been a good friend to me,” he sighed. His eyes were red, telling her that he had been crying. “But I need to know what your brother is doing. It was weird when he took Jared, even weirder when Paul joined. Now, he’s changed Embry as well.”
“W-what do you mean he changed Embry, Jake? He was there at your birthday party last month.”
“But he wasn’t really there, was he?” Jacob continued. “He’s been avoiding Quil and me in school. He comes up with excuses or doesn’t even respond when we call to hang out. And he barely said a word to me other than ‘happy birthday’ at the party. And now, we see him hanging out with your brother and his weird gang.”
“It is not my place to talk about what happens with Embry, Jake; what happens with any of them for that matter,” she tried to explain calmly. “All I can tell you is that he definitely is not in a dangerous gang like it’s rumored. My brother is not a dangerous person.”
“Then, why can’t Embry talk to us, huh? Why is he clearly under instructions to not talk to his friends or even to his mom?” Jacob exclaimed. “She’s been asking us nonstop what’s happening with her son, and we have nothing we can say.”
“Jacob, I understand how frustrating this must be. But I can’t say anything. It’s really not my place.”
“So, what? You’re just gonna let your brother keep taking guys from the rez and making them turn their backs on everyone they know?” he said, his voice rising slightly. “It’s not right, (Y/N), and you know it.”
“I wish I could tell you what is going on, Jake, but…”
“But it’s not your place to tell. Yeah. I got that,” he scoffed. “If there are any more guys that are taken from their families because of your brother, it’ll be on you, (Y/N).”
“No one has been taken from their families, Jacob,” she replied defensively, biting down on her tongue to not anger the boy further. “They’re always free to come and go.”
“Yet they’re not free to talk,” he seethed. “I can’t believe you don’t see what they’re doing, (Y/N). You’re smart enough to know that something’s not right.”
“I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, Jake,” she sighed. “But I can promise you that your friend is safe.”
“It doesn’t matter much to me that he’s that safe when he can’t even say hi to me in the halls.”
“Jacob…”
“No, it’s fine, (Y/N). It’s not your place.”
He had left her house completely infuriated. So angry that he wouldn’t even return her waves when they ran into each other in town. And she understood his anger. Someone had come between him and his best friend. They had ripped away a relationship without a single reason.
But now, he would understand the why. Now, he would be in on the secret.
(Y/N) reached her hand out, showing Jacob that she meant no harm. Her movements were slow and calculated, always in sight of the brown wolf. She was letting him know he was okay, that he was safe.
“I know you’re scared, Jacob,” she spoke softly and calmly. “I bet you’re stressed too. Nothing that is happening is making sense.”
Jacob let out a huff in response, his eyes searching her over.
“I promise we will let you know everything that’s happening,” she continued. “But the first thing we have to do is get you back in human form. And I’m gonna help you with that, okay?”
The wolf’s head nodded, his pacing stopping dead in his track. He walked toward her outstretched hand, his snout bumping against it. He nuzzled into her, his pained eyes begging her to keep talking.
“You need to calm down,” she told him. “Center your mind and think how it feels to be in your human form. You have to focus and keep calm.”
It seemed her voice was what he needed to do the trick. The wolf stepped back and closed his eyes. She was almost sure she could feel the air changing around them as Jacob focused. And then, it all happened swiftly. One second, the russet-colored wolf towered over them. And the second, Jacob was covering up his naked body with his hands.
“Uh, is there a chance any of you brought a change of clothes?”
“Here,” Sam said as he threw the boy a bag of clothes. “There are many things you’re gonna have to learn now.”
Jacob disappeared behind a tree to get changed, running to shield himself from the others. (Y/N) had no idea what it was like for the body to go through that shift. But she could begin to imagine how disconcerting it would be to have your body turn into a massive wolf after an angry outburst.
“Thank you, (Y/N),” Paul said as they waited outside of Sam’s house as Jake was informed of everything. “We should have you over every time a new kid shifts. You’re good at calming them down.”
“I guess I can understand how it feels to not feel in control of your own body,” she sighed with a smile. “But I’m glad I could help with Jake. Just last week he was grilling me over what you guys were doing.”
“we’re not doing anything wrong.”
“Not in the eyes of the town, Paul. People think that you’re a dangerous gang that is corrupting the boys in the reservation.”
“Eh, I’m used to it,” he shrugged. “Not many people thought I was a good guy before. I doubt I could change their minds now. And, honestly, I don’t care what people think of me. Just you.”
“Well, then, you’re lucky I like you, kid,” she laughed. “You would be very sad if I didn’t.”
“I really would,” he said, making her laughter die in her throat. He was too serious. Too serious for the playful tone she had spoken with. “I couldn’t live without you.”
“Paul, what’re you…?”
“I’m serious, (Y/N),” he continued as he took her hands in his. “You’re the most important person in my life, (Y/N). I would die without you.”
“You’re important to me too, Paul,” she smiled softly. “But where is all this coming from?”
“I just… gods, I just need to tell you.”
“Tell me what?”
As Paul opened his mouth to speak, the door to the back slid open, Jared and Embry tumbling out. They wore playful smiles on their faces and were holding plates of food in their hands.
“Yo, (Y/N),” Jared called. “Jake’s asking for you.”
“We’re sort of in the middle of something here,” Paul muttered through gritted teeth. “He can wait.”
“We’ll talk later, Paul,” she smiled as she put distance between them, her heart beating a million miles a minute. “I’m gonna go see what he needs.”
“But (Y/N)…”
“Later,” she called from the door.
(Y/N) had an inkling of what Paul was going to say. She could feel it deep in her bones. The past three months had been perfect –too perfect, she guessed. The last thing she wanted was to break things off with Paul, to put distance between them. But she knew that it was what would be best for them both.
As she walked into the house, she allowed herself to push down the thought. To forget that sooner rather than later, she had to push him away. To forget that the start of her poorly mended new life crumbling was nearing. Nothing good lasts. That much she knew.
Jacob was waiting for her at the dining table, a look of shame plastered across his face. He was shaking slightly, the weight of the new information heavy on his shoulders. And she could see what he truly was. A boy that had his whole life ripped from under him.
“Hey,” she called out softly. “Jared said you wanted to talk to me.”
“Yeah,” he chuckled softly, his head snapping toward her voice. “I owe you an apology, (Y/N).”
“No, Jake. You were angry. I understand.”
“But you didn’t deserve to be on the receiving end of the anger,” he continued. “You were protecting Embry, protecting all of them. And I was pretty mean to you.”
“You don’t even make the top five, Jake,” (Y/N) laughed as she sat beside him. “But, if it makes you feel better, I accept your apology. Even if there’s nothing to apologize.”
Jacob remained quiet for a second, his gaze falling onto his hands. “Your brother said I can’t see Bella,” he peeped. “I know it’s to keep her safe, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to. I can’t just abandon her right now.”
“I understand that, Jake. But this is only for the time being,” (Y/N) tried to help. “You need to learn to control the phase. If something makes you snap when you’re with her…”
“I know. Sam told me… all of it,” he sighed. “What if I imprinted on her? She’d be allowed to know everything then, right?”
“You can’t force yourself to imprint on someone, Jake. It doesn’t work like that.”
“Not that we know of,” he smiled, hopeful. “I’m gonna try and I’ll be the first.”
“Jake,” she called as the boy jogged to the front door. “Jake!”
“Thanks for the talk, (Y/N)!”
And the next second, he was gone.
“Maybe delusion runs with the shifting gene,” she said to herself.
(Y/N) used the moment to leave Sam’s house, though. She needed to escape that conversation that Paul was sure to want. Things were changing once more and she was not ready for it. The last thing she wanted was to lose her grasp on the reality she had forged for herself. She had crafted it to the most minuscule detail and she couldn’t let him ruin it.
She ran to her home, locking herself in her room. She could feel panic building inside her. As the reins she held on her façade slipped, she could only feel the dread that was underneath. The (Y/N) from six months before was trying to claw her way out. To make her feel the same pain and sadness, making the hole in her chest grow.
But she couldn’t let it. She couldn’t let any of it out. She had to keep every last ounce of those emotions buried deep inside, locked away with the memory of him. It was the only way she would survive. The only way all of that heartbreak would have been worth it.
Instead of spending the night studying as she had planned, (Y/N) crashed on her bed, succumbing to a tiredness she didn’t know she had. She had only planned to rest her eyes for a second, not to completely fall asleep.
She was walking down a path she had come to hate, but one she still knew like the back of her hand. The road to perdition, she had branded it in her mind. She could see the bridge as she walked, begging her limbs to not keep moving. She never wanted to be back there, much less when he wasn’t there.
But the closer she got, she could make out that there was a figure standing there. A figure she had done so much to forget about, even if she never wanted to. Not really.
“(Y/N),” he breathed as she stopped in front of him. “God, how I’ve longed to see your face again.”
“Carlisle,” she said, her voice breaking as tears burned in the back of her eyes. She couldn’t walk to him. Too scared that he would disappear if she did. “Where have you been?”
“Being a coward, I guess,” he replied. “I have missed you, my love. So much more than I could ever tell you.”
“Then, show me,” she commanded in a whisper. “Show me how much you truly have.”
Carlisle extended his hand and she gladly took it, sighing happily as the coldness enveloped her. He pulled her over the treaty line, making her body crash into his. He placed one hand on the low of her back as the other cradled her cheek. His amber eyes looked intently into hers, the warmest smile he could muster spread across his lips.
“Kiss me,” she whispered and Carlisle obliged.
He pressed his lips softly to hers, love slipping past his mouth. It was just as she had remembered it. Just as cold, just s perfect. It was what she had been missing for months. A true connection of love and passion. Her hands traveled up his chest, feeling. He felt so real.
“I miss you, Carlisle,” she cried as they parted, his thumb wiping away the tears that fell. “Why won’t you come back?”
“I’m right here, my love.”
“No, you’re not,” she sighed defeatedly. “This is only a dream. I know it is. Because you’re not actually here.”
“But I am, (Y/N),” he smiled. “You can feel me. You can see me. You can hear me. Who’s to say that I’m not.”
“No, Carlisle,” she said sadly, taking a step back. “If you were here, I wouldn’t be able to wake up.”
She stood on the railing of the bridge, making sure she was past the treaty line. She looked down, the river angry and rushing, rocks piled up everywhere.
“What are you doing, (Y/N)? Get down from there.”
“I can’t do this, Carlisle,” she sobbed. “Not even in my dreams. Because when I wake, you won’t be there, and I’ll be right back where I started.”
Without another thought, she let herself fall, and she waited for the crash.
But it never came. She woke up in a sweat a second later, clutching at her racing heart. The beginning of the end, she thought. She could feel herself crumbling, and it scared her.

bon temps, louisiana + carlisle cullen & reader crushing on him as an intern at forks hospital
he's so out of your league. like definitely, totally, one hundred percent, off the table, out of your league. but that doesn't mean you can't daydream just a little bit about him.
dr. cullen had been a physician at forks' hospital for a almost a year at this point. doctors, patients, nurses, all of the other interns. it was impossible not to know him. on top of being possibly the most beautiful person you'd ever seen, he was incredible at his job. far more incredible than he should've been, only looking to be a year shy of graduating med school, and forks probably being his first actual residential position.
everyone wanted to get some sort of a hand on him, and those who successfully manage it were lucky to do so.
you didn't catch him as he passed the nurse's station you were leaned over, chatting with one of the younger girls they'd hired in the last couple months, until he was already past you. he always moved so swiftly, ghostlike as glided from place to place, that you barely even heard him call your name as he went.
you scrambled to follow after him.
"yes, dr. cullen?" you ask as you shoot a weary look at your friend. she gives you an eager smile and a thumbs up that you scowl at in response.
he quickly stops in the middle of the hallway, leaving you to nearly topple into his side as he rummages through the files beside the door before handing over a clipboard with a patient's file stuffed into it.
"i'd like for you to check in on mr. reilly for me," he says. you think you'd do just about anything he asked if he posed his questions like that.
"yes, yes, absolutely," you stammer, opening the file to flip through mr. reilly's history.
"great," he says, his hand coming up to rest against your shoulder briefly. your skin grows hot beneath it, a heat that travels up your neck, despite the uncharacteristic chill the emanates from his palm. "i'll be around if you need me."
you think he winks at you before he's whisked away to handle other matters.

Did you know some people ship you with Carlisle ?
Esme, please, we've discussed this. We only happened once and it was long before either of you met.
Kind regards,
Edward Cullen.

Idk who needs some twilight inspo buuuutttt I got sum..
Ight so an old ass y/n right? As old as the volturi maybe. And maybe she's pursued by the volturi because of her gift. Her gift being the ability to manipulate memories. Like changing it, erasing it, or so on. But she's introduced to the Cullen's first when her friend jasper (or Rosalie or Emmett) reach out for her help during the battle cuz of Rennesme. Her ability works similar to Jane's. All she has to do is look at them before she can make em get lost in a flashback or forget something like the reason for the battle. When her powers are in use, her mentality is protected. So she is safe from mental touch. OR something like that ..IF ANYONE USES THIS INSPO, PLZ TAG ME I WANNA READ!!!
(the bold and italicized is optional, change at will idgaf)

I'd love to see Emmett with a human mate who has a little 1.5 yr old that is OBSESSED with Emmett. Could be they meet in town while she's exploring Forks(the little one would latch themselves to Emmett's leg and NOT LET GO). I just think he would be amazing with kids!
OMG YES YES YES THIS IS SO CUTE !!!!
