Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

Honestly, I found Blossom Tales underwhelming. There was just something about it that didn't grab me. Maybe it was the overreliance on overused puzzles, or maybe it was the zones that felt a bit too big for what they contained. The art style was a bit too boxy for my taste, and the story framing isn't my cup of tea.

The dungeons were mostly enjoyable, even if they did drop in too many enemies at times. There were a ton of items, which was nice, but I ended up rarely using most of them (remember the bees?). I think that would have been improved by not having every single item share the same meter. There was no motivation for me to switch.

If you're looking for a game to scratch that Link to the Past itch, you could do a lot worse than Blossom Tales, and, admittedly, it's one of the better entries I've played that's available on PC.

Publisher Playtonic Friends and developer Castle Pixel will release Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince for Xbox Series and Xbox One via Microsoft Store on October 4, the companies announced.
