Exploring New Directions in the Pet Care Sector
Tumblr media
Introduction
The Pet Care Market is in a constant state of flux, with ongoing trends and innovations reshaping its landscape. In this article, we delve into some of the emerging trends in the pet care market and their impact on industry participants.
Tailored Nutrition
A notable trend in the Pet Care Market is the move towards personalized nutrition. Pet owners are increasingly seeking tailored diet plans and nutritional solutions to meet the specific needs of their pets. Responding to this demand, companies are offering customized pet food formulas and supplements designed to address various health concerns and dietary preferences.
E-commerce Expansion
The surge in e-commerce has transformed the way pet care products are purchased and sold. Online platforms provide convenience and accessibility, enabling pet owners to explore a wide array of products and make purchases from the comfort of their homes. This shift has led to the proliferation of online pet stores and the adoption of subscription-based models for pet food and supplies.
Emphasis on Sustainability
Sustainability has emerged as a significant focus area for both pet care companies and consumers. With increasing worries about environmental conservation and climate change, pet owners are seeking eco-friendly and sustainable pet care products. In response, companies are integrating recycled materials, minimizing packaging waste, and embracing sustainable manufacturing practices.
Technology-Driven Solutions
Technological advancements are fueling innovation in the pet care market. From wearable devices and smart collars to pet monitoring apps and telemedicine services, technology is revolutionizing how pet owners interact with their pets and manage their health and well-being. These tech-driven solutions offer convenience, efficiency, and peace of mind to pet owners, driving their adoption and integration into daily pet care routines.
Growing CBD Market
Another noteworthy trend in the pet care market is the increasing popularity of CBD products for pets. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the cannabis plant, believed to offer various health benefits for pets, including pain relief, anxiety reduction, and improved mobility. As more research is conducted on the potential benefits of CBD for pets, the market for CBD pet products is expected to expand significantly.
Conclusion
The Pet Care Industry is undergoing rapid evolution, spurred by shifting consumer preferences, technological breakthroughs, and heightened awareness of pet health and wellness. By staying attuned to emerging trends and embracing innovation, companies can position themselves for success in this dynamic and competitive industry.

I wanna see a cooking competition show where all the judges have different dietary restrictions and professional chefs have to make a meal that all of them can eat.
I wanna see someone with allergies look a chef dead in the eye and tell them they're disqualified cause they didn't check that the pecans were manufactured somewhere with no peanut cross contamination.

The Best News of Last Week
⚡ - Charging Towards a More Electrifying Future
1. The Kissimmee River has been brought back to life—and wildlife is thriving
Tumblr media
The Kissimmee River in Florida was straightened in the 1960s, causing a sharp decline in wildlife and ecological problems. But in the 1990s, a $1 billion restoration project was initiated to restore the river's natural state.
Today, nearly half of the river has been restored, wetlands have been reestablished and rehydrated, and wildlife has returned, including rare and threatened species. Already the biological impact of the project has become clear. As the wetlands have come back, so have the birds.
2. Plastic wrap made from seaweed withstands heat and is compostable
Tumblr media
A cling film made from an invasive seaweed can withstand high temperatures yet is still easily compostable. The material could eventually become a sustainable choice for food packaging.
Scientists started with a brown seaweed called sargassum. Sargassum contains long, chain-like molecules similar to those that make up conventional plastic, which made it a good raw material. The researchers mixed it with some acids and salts to get a solution full of these molecules, then blended in chemicals that thickened it and made it more flexible and pliable.
3. An Eagle Who Adopted a Rock Becomes a Real Dad to Orphaned Eaglet
Tumblr media
Murphy, a bald eagle that had been showing fatherly instincts, has been sharing an enclosure with an eaglet that survived a fall from a tree during a storm in Ste. Genevieve. Murphy, his rock gone by then, took his role as foster parent seriously. He soon began responding to the chick’s peeps, and protecting it.
And when, as a test, the keepers placed two plates of food in front of the birds — one containing food cut into pieces that the chick could eat by itself, and another with a whole fish that only Murphy could handle — the older bird tore up the fish and fed it to the eaglet.
4. World's largest battery maker announces major breakthrough in energy density
Tumblr media
In one of the most significant battery breakthroughs in recent years, the world’s largest battery manufacturer CATL has announced a new “condensed” battery with 500 Wh/kg which it says will go into mass production this year.
“The launch of condensed batteries will usher in an era of universal electrification of sea, land and air transportation, open up more possibilities of the development of the industry, and promote the achieving of the global carbon neutrality goals at an earlier date,” the company said in a presentation at Auto Shanghai on Thursday.
This could be huge. Electric jets and cargo ships become very possible at this point.
5. Cat with '100% fatal' feline coronavirus saved by human Covid-19 medicine
Tumblr media
A beloved household cat has made an “astonishing” recovery from a usually fatal illness, thanks to a drug made to treat Covid-19 in humans – and a quick-thinking vet.
Anya, the 7-year-old birman cat, was suffering from feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a “100% fatal” viral infection caused by feline coronavirus. That was, until Auckland vet Dr Habin Choi intervened, giving Anya an antiviral used to treat Covid-19 called molnupiravir.
6. Kelp forests capture nearly 5 million tonnes of CO2 annually
Tumblr media
Kelp forests provide an estimated value of $500 billion to the world and capture 4.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from seawater each year. Most of kelp’s economic benefits come from creating habitat for fish and by sequestering nitrogen and phosphorus.
7. Medical Marijuana Improved Parkinson’s Disease Symptoms in 87% of Patients
Tumblr media
Medical cannabis (MC) has recently garnered interest as a potential treatment for neurologic diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD). 87% of patients were noted to exhibit an improvement in any PD symptom after starting medical cannabis. Symptoms with the highest incidence of improvement included cramping/dystonia, pain, spasticity, lack of appetite, dyskinesia, and tremor.

got rid of an old cat tree like a year ago and it was a mistake because apparently, this tree was my cat’s favourite tree. in the history of all the trees she’s ever had, this was THE ONE she cared about. she has never mourned the departure of any other trees over the last decade and a half of her life. she has had two BRAND NEW ones since and she barely interacts with even a single scratch post on them, only climbing one out of Pure Obligation because i place her food there. the only reason the tree had to go was because 1: at the time, the manufacturer wouldn’t ship parts to my country and 2: it was lookin real rough. so yeah. guess who’s fucking repurchasing this same goddamned tree

Kiss It Better?
Tumblr media
Jason Todd/Reader
Summary: Jason Todd is a dramatic little shit.
Fluff, references to homelessness, reader is referenced as short but Jason is very tall so…take it as you will.
Word Count: 596
The halls of Wayne Manor were long and intricate. With twists and turns of new paintings and tables holding flowers that were all real, never fake. Alfred wouldn’t hear it, no fake flowers even though they were less of a hassle and didn’t die, the only way that they could be is if one of you got into them.
You tapped on the wall, fingers thudding with a off beat cadence to a song long forgotten of words and syllables but the faint lines of tune remained in your head with beats that belong to those of garbage trucks and trash can lids made up of flimsy tin. It had been a song that you had heard while on the dangerous and complex streets of Gotham, with a man sitting around a small bonfire singing to himself while banging his hands on a trash can lid. It had been an awful sound, the man’s voice scratchy and so deaf toned that you cringed while listening to it but you did anyway. You and Jason did.
What else was there to do?
Sitting around on self-pity only remained joyful when the sun was out and the sounds of laughter and the deceitful smell of food made your stomach grumble with something awful.
You stared at Jason’s door. He had said that he would be out soon but not sight of him had been seen. Not even the sound of anything came through his door, only silence and you were ready to lock pick his door. Wouldn’t be the first time nor the last. If you saw something, it wouldn't be the first time either.
The door swung open and there stood the tall, bulky frame of Jason. “Finally,” you groan out, punching yourself off of the wall. “What took you so long?”
He smirks and gestures at himself. Jason is clad in his usual: brown leather jacket, black fitting shirt, pants and dirty shoes that haven’t seen a washer in years. “This takes time, shortcake,” he says.
A scoff comes through your lips and your eyes roll at his cockiness. “So does mold,” you snark.
A gasp comes from his lips as he stumbles back, falling gently against the wall with a hand to his heart in fake pain. “That hurts, right here,” he pats his chest and falls to the ground sitting up.
“Get over it,” you tell him.
His head knocks against the wall with a sadness to his eyes that are manufactured but look real. “I can't.” His arms reach forward and wrap around the back of your legs, pushing you down in front of him on your knees with a loud yelp coming from your lips. His own pout, begging for something only you can sedate him with. “Kiss it better?” He asks, sounding pathetic.
You shake your head and try to pull away but his hands that rest on your back remain strong and formabile. “No,” you tell him sternly.
A scoff leaves his lips. “That’s rude shortcake, really. I am offended,” he states.
You sigh. “Fine.” You lean forward and catch his lips on your own, pinning down the hand that tries to tangle in your hair to his side. Then you pull away, pretending to ignore the way he tries to capture your lips once more. “Is that better?” You ask him but he doesn’t answer, only looks at you lovingly. “Cat got your tongue?”
He rolls his eyes and brings your face closer again. “Shut up,” he whispers against your lips before taking them with his own once more.

Hi Hell, congrats on the exciting foster kitten news!
I just applied to adopt a kitten and had my interview for her today. The woman seemed most interested in convincing me of how terrible dry food, traditional litter (she preferred clay), and tap water is for cats. She said the carbohydrates and ingredients were terrible for their kidneys, the dust in litter is bad for their lungs, and the chlorine in water is harmful. I have a 12 year old cat named Scipio who has been using those things all his life, and now I feel guilty and scared for his health. He seems perfectly healthy to me but she said “cats are stoic.” What do you use with the Tiny Terrors? Is she extreme?
Well, I'm not a vet, so the actual answer is that your cat should be getting what their doctor recommends. But I've had those conversations with people before, and I can give my two cents--just take it with a grain of salt.
So...it's basically always true that you can spend more money on fancier 'health' options and there is, to some extent, benefit to the pricier choices. But there's a point at which that benefit is pretty minimal compared to what you get for the midrange price options. This is as true for pet health as it is for people health.
It's true that wet food is usually a better option for cats. Among other things, it helps them stay at a healthy level of hydration, can be easier on their digestive systems, and is often more palatable for cats who are elderly or have dental problems. But that doesn't mean that dry food is inadequate--Mal and Vice used to split a can of wet food daily, and graze dry food whenever they wanted. They're currently eating almost exclusively dry food, because Vice is on a sensitive skin and stomach diet to help address his overgrooming. I would avoid the bottom-end dry foods, because they seem prone to contamination, but that's more manufacturer quality than an issue with the dry food generally. Dry food is usually a nutritionally complete way to feed a cat, and there's nothing wrong with it.
Mal and Vice drink tap water. They have a bowl of still water, and a fountain with an inbuilt filter. The fountain is because if they don't have running water, they will make running water by splashing their bowls all over. I can't speak to chlorine but it's definitely healthier than drinking out of puddles, which is what they would be doing if left to their own devices.
They use clay litter because that's what's effective and affordable. When I'm changing it out I generally give it a few minutes for dust to settle before I let them at it--someone always wants to make a deposit in the clean box--but there's pros and cons to all the litter options out there.
In a perfect world with infinite resources, I'd be feeding the cats a careful balanced diet of fresh-prepared meats and filtered spring water, and they'd take dumps in a tiny kitty toilet that cleaned itself without my help. But that's not really practical or achievable for me, my life, or my cats, and frankly, it's not necessary. I want them to have a good life. It doesn't need to be a perfect one. If your cat is doing well, and their vet is giving them a clean bill of health, you probably have nothing to worry about. I'm not a professional; you should consult your vet and research options for yourself (which is what I do) but you're not doing anything wrong here.
I will say that when I was going through the process of adopting Mal and Vice, some places (usually private rescues) wanted me to jump through INSANE hoops to even apply. I respect that their hearts are in the right place, but... There are hundreds of kittens in shelters right now that need homes desperately, and the quality of the cat has very little to do with the quality of the rescue--they might have more or less vet work done, depending on where they're coming from, but nobody's managed to fundamentally change the nature of the beast. If you can provide a safe home, food, clean water, and attention to a cat, that's really all they need. The rest is just gravy.

Non-Tickly 'Hazbin Hotel' Headcanons
Just thought I would share a collection of my non-tickle related headcanons for the Hazbin crew! I hope you enjoy them! There will be some spoilers for the first season below, so read with caution!
→ Charlie is a vegetarian. The thought of harming an innocent creature for food makes her feel bad, but if the others want to eat a hamburger, she isn't going to throw a fit over it. → Since the death of Dazzle, Razzle has turned up in the hotel patrons' beds on more than one occasion, unable to sleep without someone to cuddle up next to (Charlie and Angel Dust are his most popular pick). → Vaggie has to relearn how to walk with her wings after they grow back because they throw off her balance; Lucifer offers to give her lessons, secretly hoping to bond with his future daughter-in-law (he's convinced Charlie is going to propose any day now). → Husk has excellent night vision because of his cat-like features, which proves to be quite a handy tool when Angel insists upon playing "Hide And Seek In The Dark" as a bonding exercise. → Both Lucifer and Sir Pentious are autistic. During their brief interactions with each other, they ended up infodumping about their respective special interests (ducks for Lucifer, weapons manufacturing for Pentious). → Sinners are sterile, unable to reproduce with each other OR hellborns. The only exception is when they mate with a succubus or incubus, in which case there is a VERY SMALL chance of a child being born. → Alastor is able to outdrink Husk and holds his alcohol fairly well, but if you try to give him something overly fruit or sweet, he can't keep it down. → Nifty made friendship bracelets for every member of the hotel crew from some of the roaches she has killed; Charlie and Alastor are the only ones who can get over the disgust enough to wear their. → Charlie put on a karaoke night once in hopes of drawing more patrons in. While nobody showed up, the gang just ended up getting plastered and singing their hearts out anyways, so it's safe to say the night wasn't a complete loss (there's a video of Husk singing Frank Sinatra saved to Angel's phone now). → Adam, Lilith and Eve don't have belly buttons because they were created from scratch, not born by normal means.

Yuuji, who sits every morning watching Megumi as Megumi creates his own personalized cup of coffee for the morning. He observes his methods, notices how much sugar or milk he puts in it, even if its incredibly minimal (to Yuuji's personal disgust). Yuuji who actually drags himself out of bed at a reasonably early hour to pull up tutorial videos on his phone on how to create different whipped cream animals. The first few times Megumi finds his coffee is waiting for him... he doesn't think much of it, especially when Yuuji takes responsibility for the creation and manufacturing of the cup. The first few whipped-cream-animals are... less than ideal. Essentially created and shaped as shapeless globs of whipped cream that Megumi quirks a brow over and glances to Yuuji for explanation, of which there is a complicated and unreasonable response. Megumi's ultimately too tired to try to decipher what Yuuji's trying to get across to him anyway. He takes their rambling at face value. His first successful creature? A small cat, hanging off the rim of the mug with two little eyes. Again, Megumi picks it up without looking at it directly as he holds it up to his lips... before he pauses, looking down at the white void in his vision, blotting out the dark liquid in the cup. It stares up at him expectantly and Megumi... feels a pang of guilt for the creature who he's going to destroy when he takes a drink from the cup. The same kind of guilt he feels when the divine dogs are looking at him and expecting scraps. They don't necessarily need food to live, no, but... he liked to give them some, from time to time. Mostly because they give him the biggest eyes... and it makes his heart melt on the spot. "... Itadori, did you make... something in my coffee?" Megumi asks, turning around to look at his classmate, who's already heading to hide in the bathroom, beginning his shower with a lighthearted grin at the doorframe, just as he's about to close the door with a towel hanging over his arm. " I don't know what you're talking about, Umi~! " he sings from the other room.
Megumi looks down at the cat in his coffee. ... It was pretty cute. Admittedly, he doesn't drink his coffee with milk or creamer or anything usually but... he could accept it. Especially if Itadori was putting all this effort into such cute things... it was kind of nice to see him getting expressive with himself rather than bottling up everything they've experienced.

JACK YOU'RE FUCKING SCARING ME. Holy goddamn shit like dude. DUDE!!
He gave many flies to one spider and many spiders to one bird, and then wanted a cat to eat the many birds. What would have been his later steps? It would almost be worthwhile to complete the experiment. It might be done if there were only a sufficient cause. Men sneered at vivisection, and yet look at its results to-day! Why not advance science in its most difficult and vital aspect—the knowledge of the brain? Had I even the secret of one such mind—did I hold the key to the fancy of even one lunatic—I might advance my own branch of science to a pitch compared with which Burdon-Sanderson's physiology or Ferrier's brain-knowledge would be as nothing. If only there were a sufficient cause! I must not think too much of this, or I may be tempted; a good cause might turn the scale with me, for may not I too be of an exceptional brain, congenitally? How well the man reasoned; lunatics always do within their own scope. I wonder at how many lives he values a man, or if at only one. He has closed the account most accurately, and to-day begun a new record. How many of us begin a new record with each day of our lives? To me it seems only yesterday that my whole life ended with my new hope, and that truly I began a new record. So it will be until the Great Recorder sums me up and closes my ledger account with a balance to profit or loss. Oh, Lucy, Lucy, I cannot be angry with you, nor can I be angry with my friend whose happiness is yours; but I must only wait on hopeless and work. Work! work! If I only could have as strong a cause as my poor mad friend there—a good, unselfish cause to make me work—that would be indeed happiness.
I just gotta throw all this down here. I cannot cope with how much Jack sounds like he's having his Joker moment. You know how every adaptation of Frankenstein and J&H is like "he was a visionary that went against the board to do the impossible for glory" (which, mind you, didn't even happen in those books)... but imagine if that turn was taken here...
Jonathan Sims manages to make Jack sound like he's almost completely on board with letting Renfield manufacture his food chain up to the point he would begin consuming humans. Not only is he saying: "If there were a good cause to experimenting on Renfield, only then would I do it" he is crying to the heavens: "Oh! Let there be a good cause!" Sir, please, I can't defend you when the authorities come and arrest you for acting upon your thoughts of grandeur. Thank god he does not have a good cause.
AND THE CHILLS!! THe CHILLS WHEN HE MENTIONS LUCY. Specifically in the context of, "Well, she was my one hope. With no wife, I only have my work to attend to... Work being obsessing heavily over this old man and fantasizing about letting him eat me." His tone of voice does NOT change he continues in his maniacal tone. Sounds like a saddened "Oh Lucy... you'll be one of the ones I spare in my pursuit of world domination" rather than... normal sadness over being rejected.
In the wake of this... I kinda wanna post about an AU I thought about a while back.

A story about a prion disease apocalypse could be so fucked up fun.
Perhaps the disease has been spreading for a while, but appeared to not harm humans like CWD, or it's an entirely new one that a cow just developed one day. It can spread through their waste, their spit, their blood. Quite a few animals have already been infected by the time the first few enter the human food chain.
It's another while before the new prion disease is noticed; people aren't getting sick, and it takes a while before infected animals show symptoms. Eventually the weird symptoms are noticed, and the new disease is found, but it's already too late. It's spread so far that it proves very difficult to stamp out no matter how many infected animals get destroyed, and every day it isn't wiped out means more humans coming into contact with the prions. Although right now, no-one knows for sure if it can even jump the species barrier.
A few years later, it starts. A few people with mysterious and deadly neurological issues here and there, who's autospies reveal their brains have been turned to sponge. The numbers slowly climb upwards with each year. It's still spreading in farm animals.
Efforts to resist the disease increase; there isn't any treatment, but there are better tests. Through these it's discovered that not only are carrier animals that can spread the disease everywhere, but an eyewatering percentage of the population harbour the abnormal prions too- spreading not just through tainted food at this point, but also blood transfusions and surgical instruments. Even the water in the worst affected places isn't safe any more. Reassurances that not everyone will develop the prion disease are no comfort for many.
Every year the numbers climb. It goes from a very rare illness, to an unusual one, to one that's so common that you probably know someone who got killed by it. Attempts at a cure all fail, no matter how promising they seem. A suffocating cloak of dread falls over the world, even as many people try to ignore it and go about their daily lives. It isn't uncommon now to see someone with obvious symptoms who is in denial. Not that confronting their death head on would help; healthcare is underfunded and overwhelmed, they would be waiting months for anything that might alleviate their suffering.
The collapse begins a decade into the pandemic. People are dying left, right and centre, even children who weren't born when it first began to spread; it might have spread to them in the womb, but there are so few scientists left and they're so focused on finding a cure that not much research is done. Take a walk in a city and you'll see dozens of empty buildings and massive queues by the hospitals. Walk in the countryside and you'll probably see a half dead animal wracked with spasms. Mammals have become rarer; even dogs and cats are a bit unusual to see. Anything that hasn't reduced in numbers is studied intently to discover its secrets, all to no avail.
Infrastructure begins break down; there aren't many people left to maintain it, and a lot of them aren't well. Medical care is borderline impossible to get because there's so many people and so few living doctors and nurses; more and more people are dying of curable afflictions without ever being seen. Food is scarce because animal products are off the menu and it's nigh impossible to transport and grow food when so many people have died. Costs shoot up, and people protest because no-one can afford the prices- especially when not that many people work any more, being too ill to work or having to care for their ill loved ones. The only thing that gets cheaper is housing.
Protesting does help, and resources are more evenly distributed in the last few years. But there's still nothing that can be done for the illness, and the sick are actually dying faster because some places now have no medical staff. Medicines get scarce as manufacturing plants shut down for want of staff. Whole regions lose their electricity as the final workers are forced to turn off the grid lest the power plant cause a disaster once the prion disease has killed them. Governments can't fill the empty seats in their parliaments, and high voter turnout amounts to thousands of people casting their ballots. Quite a few governments just throw in the towel at that point. In places with newspapers, it isn't uncommon for them to run emotional stories about people from areas so badly hit that they thought they could be the last living people.
Eventually things begin to level out. A couple of people were lucky enough to never be exposed, or to have some resistance. It's the same for other mammals, although they're scarce and many are extinct. Most areas are forced into subsistence farming on poisoned land, without the help of domesticated animals. Most strive to rebuild, but to some it seems like the final, tortured days before the end.

HI !!!! WAVES :D How about... Falin and Laios Touden for the headcanon thingies !! Or perhaps Katagawa Jr if you wantttt.... or Senshi <3
YAYYYYYY WAVES AT YOU AGGRESSIVELY
FALIN
- She would be KILLING IT in Minecraft creative mode I think she'd simulate complex ecosystems and build pretty houses all day long. And occasionally go explode stuff for enrichment but she makes sure there's no critters nearby bc she'd feel really bad about them dying.. Probably dedicates a little section of her world for each of her friends <3 or at least to her brother <33
- whenever she swears I think she uses creative unconventional bad words rather than the classic fuck and shit. Like she'd say something like. Son of a piss. Oh damnrabbit. Douchewad. Do you understand. She's not a No swearing pure baby but she also doesn't like the crude association the classic swear words have..
LAIOS
- I think he'd love playing skylanders a fuckton bc are you kidding me you can collect monsters and fight as them and save the world fuck yeah‼️he'd probably have all the challenge levels figured out..
- Only swears like once under very extreme circumstances. Again not bc of any autism attributed "innocence" but bc in other times he feels like it's not really necessary but it does feel good in a dire situation. He gets that singular F bomb swag. Otherwise he probably just says "Damn"
THE BONUSES
Katagawa Jr - He's Really particular about his favorite foods, if they change the ingredients in a sauce he uses regularly he IS calling the company to leave a word at least once and he threatens to switch to another manufacturer out of Spite. He actually won't use the alternative product bc IT DOESN'T TASTE THE WAY HE LIKES but this threat usually warrants change enough so that he doesn't even have to. His foods needs to be JUST SO.
- I'm not sure how well I'm gonna be able to word this but. Despite being really ambitious he never really feels like it'll be enough. Like he won't be enough to get what he wants, like he needed to be born a fundamentally different way somehow to truly reach all his wildest dreams and it eats him up inside so he invests all his time in treating himself like a god and climbing higher and higher but he's afraid of when the wax wings melt and so he just keeps going and wondering what's missing from him. In the end it doesn't shake him enough to consider his WILDLY privileged position in the world but such are the woes of disgustingly rich young people.
Senshi - If he lived in our world he'd be that guy who works for volunteer TNR facilities and fosters different kinds of animals to make sure they get into good homes. You cannot tell me he wouldn't do this. He KNOWS feral cats are living poor lives and a danger to the local ecosystems, he KNOWS and he's HELPING
- SUOMALAINEN SENSHI UKKELI REAL‼️‼️🇫🇮🇫🇮 THIS DWARF IS FINNISH he sells exquisite meals at the TORILLA and sits by the dock during sunset
