I was so down and depressed today bc of a few reasons, one of them being rejected from two different jobs I was pretty confident in, and I just couldn’t stop crying and my mom was like please take it easy on yourself!! you just graduated and you’re about to get your masters, plus you’re getting certified in creative writing like girl just enjoy your time I got you!!! and ykw…….HELL YEAH‼️‼️

so now I will dedicate the rest of my week to finally finishing the arranged marriage oliver fic ☝🏼 and maybe a few more fics I have on my list ^_^

Cursed to write my little songs but also be unable to sing well or play an instrument or understand musical notation or have the ability to learn any of those things (ADHD and dyscalculia zone?) except for being able to sing, which I can't afford right now.

100 Days of Practice: Day 10

I like saturday practice days, I usually have more time then

Practiced for almost two hours today. I tried some new warm up exercises and I think I will keep doing them from now on.

Focused more on my bowing today too and yeah it works great when I actively try to be aware of that and play through phrases with the intention of working on the bowing, but when I play the entire piece it gets worse again.

At the end of practice when I was working on the suite 1 Gigue I tried holding my bow not at the frog but more baroque style and the improvement was noticeable instantly.

So yeah I definitely need to work on my bow hold and bowing technique, but that was always my weakest point, I am well aware of that.

practised!!!!

i would say for about 45min-1hr, just putting in a bit of effort into the parts I've previously noted as problems in the two sonatas. no intense focus on individual sections yet as i don't have the energy, but moving in that direction. pleased with myself for picking my cello up today! i think i'm tensing my right shoulder up for some reason, but i'm not sure if that's something that's a just-today thing or if it's going to be a problem i'll have to work out in the long term.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Mom and Yiayia tagged along with Gus's class to the pumpkin patch today. I couldn't resist messaging Ms. Courtney to ask if I could sit in on Magnus's class for what we've been referring to as "Symphony Day" because he's shown so much interest in music. The Quapaw Quartet visited his class and played a few pieces before letting the kids try out a few miniature versions of their instruments.

All the kids were in a line to try them out, and Magnus was last in line for the cello. But when the time came, no one in line ahead of him had the courage to go up. He looked at me and I told him to go. He practically ran up there. He wanted to play them all.

When the quartet played, lots of the kids kind of danced playfully, but Mags was all business. He stared intently. Mom and I want to get him in some kind of music lessons soon.

100 Days of Practice: Day 50

Wohoo, halfway through 🎉

Practice was going really well today, was really happy with my progress on the suite 2 Courante and Sarabande and then I made the mistake of trying to start to learn the suite 2 Menuete 1. That is going to be a pain. I can hit all the chords and double stops cleanly when practicing them in isolation or when playing slow but uh yeah, I am currently nowhere near fast enough to switch between the chords to play it without pause in tempo. Also the second chord, going from third to thumb position? Forget it, I don't play in thumb position nearly often enough to make that one fast. I mean I don't have to necessarily use my thumb but it's easier to reach the c that way. This will require a lot of practice. I am confident that I can do it, my brain was just really short circuiting a lot today. So yeah, we'll see how it goes tomorrow. Any tips are much appreciated.
