Patreon Commissions & Membership Open!
Patreon can be found here.
I am currently a college student and as with many people on here, writing is everything to me. I am employed as a professional script writer through a local entertainment/video game company as well as a music teacher and am looking to expand my horizons (and pay off my degree lol). To get started, I am taking commissions for ANYTHING for 5 dollars and have opened a $3/month Patreon membership! There's no word limit, plot exceptions, nothing. If you happen to join the membership, I'm also taking free commissions from members to get started for a month!
If perhaps you're looking for help with learning an instrument (Guitar, Bass, Piano, and Viola), any commission for help is also available at $5 dollars or via membership! I am mainly looking to expand my page so that when I do get to publishing the story I am working on (will be out by next year), it's not falling on deaf ears. Please help a current debt-grower out 😭😭

I'm fairly good at the moment but some days are definitely tiring, and I've been procrastinating school and such. BUT IT'S FALL NOW SO YAY!! I've decided that I'm going to try and do less stuff on screens more and touch grass and live life but it's difficult lol. rn I'm just chilling but the life changing event always comes every october and I'm hoping it won't be anything baddd.
anywho how are you doing? how is the schooling and extracurricular activities?

There is a related trap, which is that 'I'm really bad at this because I'm picking the wrong person to compare myself to and assuming that what they can do is normal'.
This one is brought to you by a discussion with my young adult offspring, who incorrectly rated themself as a poor musician, because they have spent their entire life treating me (once entirely obsessed with one of my instruments, self taught myself to year 12 performance level obsessed) as an expected level of competence.
I fear I keep falling into the trap of "if I can do it it clearly doesn't take any skill/talent and is therefore no longer impressive" and I don't think that mindset is beneficial for me (feels bad), people at a similar skill level as me (feel like their skills and efforts aren't impressive), people at a higher skill level (diminishes the work they've put in to be at this level) and people that struggle with it (if it's not a skill that takes work they "shouldn't be struggling")

this might just be me telling that I quit piano lessons 10 years ago but Ashton’s little melody is a one hand kinda thing. Five notes, pentatonic scale of D major but played in B minor and sounds really good when I add a sneaky B major chord at the end (how? it is so hard to switch minor/major that easily). but why are both of Ashton’s hands there? Is this how recording musicians record for better accuracy?? do I just have a weird thing for trying to fit as many parts into each hand as I can every time I play the piano? no complaints just makes it easier for me to play I guess

... And Then There Were Only Two
I don’t know how I missed this story nearly two weeks ago, but it flew onto my radar this morning and I have to take a few moments to talk about a man named Hughes Van Ellis who died on Monday, October 9th.  The man was one of just three remaining survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre, which I have written about in years past.  According to the Jon S. Randall Peace Page … He died a few days ago,…
