New rule for children's media; damn, hell, and ass are no longer curse words. Used sparingly, they are G-rated. If you go hog wild with em, I guess that'll bump it up to PG, but there hasn't really been a distinction between those two ratings for decades. They're not gonna drop any f-bombs in a disney movie, but these three words should be free use. Squeaky clean vocabulary is a pain in the ass which will damn us all to hell.

Timely Pogo comic by Walt Kelly who was way ahead of the curve. "I got a poem here might help you WEIGH the PROBLEM. Like Marco Rubio and his newly created "Office of Remigration," anti-immigrant Mole MacCaroney has been encouraging longtime residents to migrate out of the swamp. Pogo daily from 17 April 1953." via Matt Scullin, to Facebook group "I Go Pogo!"

Porky Pig blooper reel from 1938 🔊⁣
⁣ Although the blooper was made a year before Gone with the Wind (1939) had the famous line, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn", it didn't air on public television until 2006 when the FCC regulations had softened enough for the word "bitch" to be said on TV.

I think that my main issue with the insult “puriteen” is the implication that being a teenager is the problem and/or that their age is worth mocking. The kids with problems with sex and violence (and calling for more censorship) aren’t springing fully formed from the ether. Someone is teaching them to be scared and uncomfortable. They’re learning from their bigoted parents, their conservative relatives, their repressed teachers. And these adults are Gen Xers and Millennials more and more. Someone is brainwashing these teenagers and they’re not doing it to themselves--at least not initially.
Everyone learns from those who came before: who’s teaching them?

© Doyle Wesley Walls — Most University Students Are Seventeen Years of Age or Older
MY QUESTION: So why are there so many pansies in university classrooms who need trigger warnings in order to read great texts or view great art?

"Censors are dead people
set up to judge between life and death.
For no live, sunny man would be a censor,
he'd just laugh.
But censors, being dead men,
have a stern eye on life.
That thing's alive! It's dangerous.
Make away with it!
And when the execution is performed
you hear the stertorous, self-righteous
heavy breathing of the
dead men,
the censors, breathing with relief."
- D.H. Lawrence

And ironically it's taking over the brains of people who are so-called "anti-Christian rebels against conservatism"
“is this character good or bad” “is this ship unproblematic or not” “is this arc deserving of redemption or not” girl…

It seems like the older I get, the more irrationally angry casual censorship makes me. And it isn't just the "unalive" "grape" alleged filter-dodging vernacular, but the way normal words will be peppered with asterisks, or screenshots will have words like "gay" "hell" "fuck" etc either partially or entirely blurred. Who is this helping? What is the purpose of it, except to reinforce shame and elevate a flimsy perception of purity and safety, however those things manifest. It's so tiresome and I'm sick of it.
