Excerpt from a 1972 interview with Joan Blondell done on the set of Banyon (1972-1973). Taken from Conversations with Classic Film Stars: interviews from Hollywood's golden era (2016) by James Bawden and Ron Miller.
I think that my main issue with the insult “puriteen” is the implication that being a teenager is the problem and/or that their age is worth mocking. The kids with problems with sex and violence (and calling for more censorship) aren’t springing fully formed from the ether. Someone is teaching them to be scared and uncomfortable. They’re learning from their bigoted parents, their conservative relatives, their repressed teachers. And these adults are Gen Xers and Millennials more and more. Someone is brainwashing these teenagers and they’re not doing it to themselves--at least not initially.
Everyone learns from those who came before: who’s teaching them?
It's strange if they [the censors] ever do anything to the coyote because the coyote is only victimized by his own ineptitude and nobody else is responsible. The Road Runner does nothing more than come up behind him and go "beep-beep" and that can hardly be considered a violent action. But the coyote's own mistakes are what cause him trouble, so anybody who would try to suggest that a child would try to imitate the coyote must not understand children. Children are not about to go out and imitate failure....throw themselves off a cliff, for God's sake!
I love how the racist left thinks they can hijack the high-ground with feelings. They always do this in a lame attempt to elevate themselves above others who do not agree with their weakness and victimhood

It’s a shame that people have lost sight of the fact that:
A) cyber bullying isn’t real. Turn off the computer.
B) free speech is a fundamental tenet of a free society. You are no longer living in a liberal democracy if the government can tell you what to think and say subject to its own whims. Dumb speech, “hate” speech, crazy speech, mean speech- they are all infinitely preferable to censored speech.
