Cgs!Laszlo & Nadja Headcanons
i’ve had a few wwdits asks and decided to post for both laszlo and nadja bc they’re simply so mama and papa coded! <3
Tumblr media
Firstly, Laszlo was made to be a caregiver. We’re all thinking of the absolutely unbelievable plotline that was baby Colin, aren’t we? Well, I think that after Colin grew up far too quickly for Laszlo to catch up with, there was a deep, gnawing desire for him to take care of someone in the same way. In comes a special little regressor in the lives of the vampires!
Laszlo adores when his little takes interest in the fine arts. A bit pretentious of him? Maybe. But totally in character. He’ll pick up his little vampire with ease and sit them on the piano stool next to him and teach them how to play no matter how young they’re feeling. Super tiny? He’ll laugh at his little banging on the keys and gently play a tune that he knows will put a smile on their face. A bit bigger? He’ll gently guide their hands and glance over to Nadja with a very proud look on his face when they carefully play on their own. Very good, darling! Beethoven could not play as spectacularly as you.
Laszlo loves to tell stories in the mansion’s sitting room right before the sun rises. He’s an amazing storyteller, creating spinning tales of lords, ladies and King Arthur’s roundtable set with different voices for each character. He watches carefully when their eyes start to droop and they look sleepy enough to slumber as soon as the lid of their coffin closes. It’s either stories or early morning reruns on HGTV.
When Nadja is in charge of bedtime for her and Laszlo’s little one, it includes soft lullabies and her fingers or a brush through the regressor’s hair. It almost makes her giddy when her little one runs up to her before bed with a brush, comb, hair bow or bonnet in their hands and a sweet smile on their face. She’ll have them sit on the floor in front of the crackling fireplace while she scoots a plush armchair up and settles down to hum a gentle tune while being equally as gentle with their hair. Are you tired, little one? Papa will come and carry you to bed.
Mornings are frequently energy filled with Laszlo and Nadja, especially after a hearty breakfast. Laszlo is usually the last to rise in the mornings, and more than once his little has been sent to his coffin on behest of Nadja to loudly bang on it and drag him out with happy giggles. Nadja is a troublemaker that way, always sending their regressor to unknowingly tease or cause Laszlo grief because she knows they’ll get away with anything.
Tumblr media
It’s always fun with the both of them. There’s nothing they love more than hearing their little laugh and play, and they’ll do just about anything their little wants to make that happen. Games in the house go from Laszlo chasing their little around and building pillow forts to Nadja getting together every bit of clothing in the house so they can all play dress up together. (Guillermo and Nandor tend to be invited for dress up too. If their little demands a larger audience, by goodness will they get it!)
Both of them are pretty lax when it comes to rules and expected behaviour of their little. Nadja is quicker to berate their regressor than Laszlo is, but her scolding is usually tame despite her exasperation and is along the lines of, Sweetie, you can’t keep playing on that machine with Colin Robinson! and I have told you to be careful with Dolly. I will not remind you again. Laszlo is stern only when he truly needs to be, or when their little is being fussier than usual. He’s not afraid to take them by the hand and march them out of the basement when they’re caught rifling through the freezer. Darling, you know you’re not to be in there. Ah-ah, no excuses. Come along.
Nadja and Laszlo are both big on physical contact. Laszlo will pick up his little out of nowhere and swing them around just to hear their giggles. He loves to give them piggyback rides too! During story time he’ll pat his lap for them to come and curl up with their head under his chin. He gives the best cuddles. Nadja is a very scary tickle monster, and she is amazing at calming an overwhelmed or upset little down with back rubs and a steady hand on theirs, her thumb circling the top of their hand.
The couple use so many pet names for their regressor. Laszlo is extremely creative of course: Darling, sweetheart, vampling, sweet tooth, my little vampire, small one. Nadja is simpler but just as sweet: Little one, sweetie, baby, honey.
Laszlo and Nadja are ultimately a pair of sweethearts that always dote on and protect their little one. <3

More Doris
I hope all of you had a chance to watch Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio! That film was a lot of fun to work on and I’m now currently on a new project (In The Know from Mike Judge and Zach Woods)
While working with different studios, I’ve been trying to get my own projects in the works and have been pitching to studios.  I’m still working at it tirelessly.  There are various things I’ve pitched (Many stories I haven’t told anywhere yet).  One of the projects I have pitched is a Doris Doodle series.
Tumblr media
A concept image from the pitch presentation.
She was actually met really well and I spoke to producers about it.
Tumblr media
Because the comic has copyrighted characters, the pitch and the pilot script was made with original characters in place of Betty Boop and others. This would be a world built just for Doris.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll see Doris and Dawn on the screen anytime soon. I got a few notes on what studios would want from the series.
Make it more meta with references and cameos.
Show Doris as a baby (something that doesn’t work if you read the source material and would change how this world works)
You need celebrity voices (I considered Deedee Magno, Tara Strong and Cree Summers celebrity voices, but they want big blockbuster actors and I want all the toons to be voice actors)
Make them CG (This is a celebration of animation and making Doris CG feels disrespectful)
Tumblr media
The last note was to take out any moments and talk about trauma and abuse. I was told that’s something people don’t want to talk about so it’s best that this just be a meta comedy. This made the idea feel pointless since the show would really be saying nothing.
I told them this is not the right way to go and I haven’t heard anything else since.
Tumblr media
That doesn’t mean I’ve given up on doing more with her and Dawn.  The story I made with all original characters is something I’m planning to bring to all of you! (It was fun and daunting making toons inspired by Minnie, Betty and others).
I also plan to continue the story and I’ll be going with the timeline of the original characters when I do (I hope you don’t mind. I’ll miss Betty and everyone else, but I think it’s best if I steer this away from any other studio obligations and give Doris and Dawn their own world.)
I’m hoping to show more of this soon.  Until then, read the story of Doris again on Webtoon!

Niki Blethers: Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio LET’S FREAKIN’ GOOOOOOOOO--
In case it was not already obvious, this was my most anticipated movie of the year. Heck, it was my only anticipated movie of the year. Having learned the hard way just how deeply disappointment stings, I don’t usually get my hopes up this high. But darn it, everything I heard about this movie prior to its release just filled me with too much excitement to ignore, and now that it is finally available to the wider public, it is my great pleasure to say--
HOLY MOTHER OF MARMALADE, DID THIS MOVIE LIVE UP TO MY HYPE AND THEN SOME
(Mild spoilers below the cut, GO WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT IT’S A MASTERPIECE)
First up: stop motion animation. We love to see it. And this movie doesn’t cut any corners with the stop motion. Even the fire is stop motion. The backgrounds are paintings (gorgeous ones at that), not just CG landscapes. The sets are so incredibly detailed I could’ve spent several minutes just staring at any given wide shot. There were very few instances where I could clearly see any effects that were obviously done in a computer. The animators and set builders went hard on this movie, and they have 1000% of my respect for it.
Despite being a whimsical fairy tale, there is a pretty heavy sense of realism with this movie. Like, one scene, you have an overeager Pinocchio singing a cute little song about how excited he is to be alive, and then in the next one, he and Geppetto are walking past buildings plastered with posters promoting Mussolini’s Fascist regime. The way the film balances these two tonal opposites is absolutely genius, and I can’t remember a single instance of a jarring shift in tone. The light and whimsical always eases into the dark and realistic in a way that makes me feel like the two sides couldn’t exist without each other.
Also speaking of realism, CAN I GET A HALLELUJIA FOR SOME HONEST-TO-GOODNESS CATHOLIC REP IN A CURRENT-YEAR CHILDREN’S MOVIE?!
This is obviously a personal thing for me, but I pretty much never see any accurate, respectful portrayals of my religion outside of films that are specifically made for Catholics. And I’ma be real with you, more often than not, the films made specifically for us turn out to be unbearably preachy or saccharine (and they’re never animated--another major point against them). To see a character who simply IS a Catholic (because this is Italy during the 1910s, so it’d be a little out-of-the-ordinary for him not to be), doing his little Catholic things, without it being a huge focus of the story or directly influencing the plot--ie, Catholicism being portrayed as just another normal part of every-day life--GAH. IT WAS JUST REALLY SPECIAL TO ME, OKAY?
Also Geppetto locking Pinocchio in a closet because he doesn’t have time to deal with this, it’s time to go to Mass is a big fat Catholic mood.
Okay, I’ll shut up about the Catholic stuff. Back to the movie.
If I had a nickel for every time David Bradly made me cry with his performance as a struggling father-figure overcoming the estrangement between him and his adopted son, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t very many, but it’s great that it happened twice.
Ewan McGregor practically carries this movie as Sebastian J. Cricket. I knew he was going to be good, but somehow I failed to foresee just how good he truly is in the role. This interpretation of Jiminy Cricket as a mildly self-absorbed novelist who sees Pinocchio as little more than his house for most of the film is just *chef’s kiss.*
Ron Perlman as the Podestà was incredible. I actually didn’t realize it was him until three-fourths of the way through the movie, he just vanishes into the role so smoothly. And gotdang, is that character scary.
Christoph Waltz clearly went all out with Count Volpe and I bet recording sessions with him were very fun.
Gregory Mann did so great for such a little guy! It’s hard to find child actors, and even harder to find child voice actors, but he was fantastic, and really sold the character.
Speaking of characters, OH MY GOSH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH WHERE DO I BEGIN
Geppetto is a very sentimental old guy whose only joy in life was his son Carlo. After Carlo is killed in a bombing raid, Geppetto completely collapses under the weight of his grief. Carving Pinocchio isn’t something he does out of creativity or joy, but rather the result of drunken and despairing rage. The scene is played out as a grotesque and heartbreaking moment, and I LOVE it.
Pinocchio himself is a Very Real Boy from the start--by which I mean, he never shuts up, he gets into everything, he’s kind of a brat, and he brings unbridled chaos to Geppetto’s life in the way that only a young child can. I like it when movies portray children as, y’know, actual children, not just tiny adults. Yeah, kids are loud, they break stuff, they annoy the heck out of you, and they are also so, so precious, they’re worth every second of it.
I’ve already talked about Sebastian J. Cricket so all I’m gonna say here is I felt the line “Oh, the pain! Life is such hideous pain” right down to my core.
This movie covers a lot of heavy themes, such as the difficulties of fatherhood, abuse, war, death, and grief. But it does so in a way that left me with a sense of hope. It doesn’t shy away from the reality of these things, but it assures you that you can endure them, that you can find immense joy even in the midst of great suffering.
To get a little personal for the second time, the way this movie goes about presenting the reality of death and the grief of those left behind resonated with me very deeply. I’m the youngest child in my immediate family, and deep down, there’s a part of me that dreads the day when they will pass on and leave me behind. Barring any unforeseen accidents, I will likely outlive most of my siblings, and I’m lowkey terrified of that inevitablilty. So there was something oddly comforting about a film that speaks directly to my fear like that. A film that doesn’t sugar coat or try to persuade me that it won’t be so bad. A film that tells me my time with my family is so much more precious because it is so fleeting.
So yeah, tears were shed, I’m not ashamed to admit it.
I could probably say a bajillion things more about this movie, but it’s getting late now and I’ve prattled long enough. In conclusion, 10/10, easily the best movie of my year, and I truly think I can forgive Del Toro for Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans now.

In conclusion, I love movies !!! But my favorite movies are those that are confident in their identities and don’t hold back. Like share your message to the fullest !!!!
I watched a lot of stop-motion movies this year. I wanna watch more studio ghibli movies next year
And maybe I should purposefully try watching bad movies… it might make me appreciate good ones more and easier see what they do right. But also. I really dont wanna watch ralph breaks the internet.

Well hey, if you want actual recs (though nothing can top "you glanced through pictures of all the seasons and this one looked cool"), good starting shows might be
Kamen Rider since you've been meaning to watch: Kuuga (precious goodboy overcomes deepest despair, beloved despite aged CG), Ryuki (anti-heroes fighting each other in a battle royale, inspired like every 2000s late-night action anime), Kabuto (world's weirdest beautiful men have incomprehensible homoerotic drama), Ex-Aid (joyful tone dissonance central feat. videogame doctors. you have contracted a computer virus and I'm going to 360 noscope it)
Super Sentai if you want to relive the power rangers memories: Gokaiger (anniversary show that'll give you a sample of a bunch of other seasons feat. lovable space pirates), Shinkenger (excellently-written samurai drama), or if you're serene with extremely watching a funny kids' show ToQger (rainbows model trains and imagination yaaaay yet still heartwrenching drama mixed in there)
(My personal biggest love is actually older tokusatsu, from the 80s or earlier, but that can be much more of an acquired taste. You could try the super-lean 40-minute 1993 movie Kamen Rider ZO if you wanted to test if older stuff is to your taste. fantastic effects work, influenced guillermo del toro's films, big arachnophobia TW tho)
The big catch is that while there are mirror sites with uploads, they're often lower-quality in terms of video and subtitle translation, and I'd highly recommend seeking out the better-quality versions via torrents. Deluge (or qbitorrent or w/e) & VLC player (& a VPN if you're worried about the piracy of it all) don't take /long/ to set up and is easy once you've done it once or twice, but I understand it can seem kinda intimidating from outside (toku fans are usually very willing to help out!)
Luckily, the creators of Ultraman (a series about giant heroes who wrestle Godzilla-style kaiju--Godzilla actually also falls under the 'tokusatsu' umbrella) are much more open to international viewers, and upload their recent shows on their YT channel with language options for English dub/Japanese audio with English & other language subtitles. I personally really enjoyed the most recently completed series, Ultraman Blazar, and the currently-running Ultraman Arc is also fun so far
HEY OMG I THOUGHT I ANSWERWD THIS AND I DIDBT !!!!
I want you to know I DID see this <3 and I rlly appreciate the recs 😭 I'm so sorry I forgot lol
I need desperately to watch Kabuto ...... I love toxic yaoi 🫶
I rlly need to figure out how to torrent/VPN because I do quite a bit of piracy hehe.... also I'd love to have adblockers on :P I will probably call upon my techy friends to help me with it
But thank you so much op 🙇 this is very swag of you

what was your inspiration to create your game? how was the creation process?
all the best, and good luck with the game! :D
OOO I CAN DEFINITELY ANSWER THIS!!
My inspiration for Weeping Rosemary was? a bit varied throughout it's creation, since I had first conceptualized it in 2018. I don't recall what led me to it, but I remember first creating Ophelia and drawing her around this time.
Weeping Rosemary was originally a webcomic series, since it was what I knew best and what was easier for me around this time, even though I always imagined it as a game in my heart. However, uni came along and made me too busy to continue it - which, to be honest, might have been a blessing in disguise LMAO
The story of Weeping Rosemary was... not well written at all. Coming out of the hands of a teen who's main consumption of media was edgy horror manga, or really outdated harem anime; the writing of it was so juvenile and cringe ( and not in a 'but free' way! )
As I got older, and my interests expanded, as well as my own growth within myself - it affected a lot of how Weeping Rosemary has changed and developed.
Now, for what inspired - a lot of it is the gothic! And not gothic as in like, the fashion & makeup, etc. ( though I still like these elements a lot ); but the books of gothic novellas! The books that mainly inspired me being:
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter
And then of course, movies such as Crimson Peak, directed by Guillermo del Toro, and the series Penny Dreadful. They are other media I like as well that have inspired me, but I can't comment solidly as I only know them from an outside POV ( for now ), like Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu, and Bram Stoker's Dracula, for example.
I really like sensual ( sexy? ) horror, that does a nice balance of blending in elements of sexuality with terror - and I feel that gothic novellas do a nice balance of this; which is what I plan ( and hopefully succeed ) in with Weeping Rosemary's full game. It's also why WR's horror is not, like, a loud jumpscare horror, moreso than a subtle horror.
As for the creation process - The game production had commenced around February of this year, as it was my final semester as a art student. I had to do a thesis and all I knew was that I realllllly wanted to make a game, but I was unsure of what. I decided to revise and redo Weeping Rosemary, my webcomic, because I felt confident that I could not only give it the writing it deserved, but make into the game I always imagined!
My dear friend & classmate had the program, and she gave me hers, and so I got to work! Weeping Rosemary became my thesis, and I had completed the demo game around?? April 30th?
I'll show in the images below, but I had done a lot of writing; around almost 30 pages of script writing and 5 page outline to hand to my professor so he could see my plan. And then a lot of thumbnail planning and art to make for the CG and sprites! As well as see what art style would suit the game best.
Some progress shots, to show the general gist:

hi omg i was wondering if you could please feed us some guillermo de la cruz as a caregiver headcanons please? he’s my favorite wwdits character and it’s so nice to imagine him being sweet and stuff- thank you!
oh ABSOLUTELY. guillermo is literally such a sweetheart and I just know he’d be the most understanding cg in the world. I wrote a few big blurbs here because I just kept thinking and thinking about him!! <3
Caregiver Guillermo de la Cruz Headcanons
Tumblr media
Firstly, the voice he would use with his little. You know the way he talks to Nandor when Nandor’s being difficult? Imagine that, but even softer and much more gentle. His tone would immediately change upon seeing that his little has regressed, and he would use Spanish terms of endearment. Mi chiquito/chiquita, cariño, and so on.
He would be very good at helping to regulate his little’s mood based on their needs. The attention to detail that Guillermo has is one of his best qualities, and so he knows what his little needs and when they need it. Comfort items and food are a big way for him to be the best caregiver possible, and so he’d always have his little’s favourite everything on hand. Sippy cups, bottles, plushies, toys, mac n’cheese, you name it and he’ll already have had it in the house weeks prior.
Guillermo is also big on communication. It’s so important for him to provide the safest space possible for his little while they’re in such a vulnerable state— and he’d be so proud to be trusted by his little enough to care for them— so he would make sure to always ask them if they were comfortable with his suggestions and help. And he would always be willing to help. If his little is struggling with the buttons on their shirt? He’s asking before swooping in and then giving their forehead a kiss after he does up their buttons.
This communication extends to times when his little is nonverbal for any reason. He picked up basic sign language and teaches his little, patient and proud of them whenever they use it. Guillermo feels especially over the moon when he tucks his little into bed, all cozy and warm, and they sleepily bring their hand to their chin for a silent thank you. Sweet dreams, mi cariño.
Guillermo is very fun, of course. He loves putting on movies for his little (and no matter how much they beg, he will not be letting them watch Interview with the Vampire while regressed, thank you very much) and bringing them on errands. The demands of the vampires in the house are not to be forgotten, but Guillermo always finds a way to prioritize both his little and his expected duties. (May I offer you babysitter Laszlo??) He’ll never not mention Nandor’s “creepy” paper when he walks down the aisle of the grocery store holding his little’s hand.
Guillermo would altogether be an intelligent, caring, gentle and comforting caregiver. He’s already used to juggling Nandor, after all.

The Power Rangers film (2017 specifically) still bothers me for one reason and one reason alone.
1993
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers begins. We get this beauty.
Tumblr media
2013
Director Guillermo del Toro creates Pacific Rim. We get this beauty.

2017
A Power Rangers blockbuster film is made. They basically have a perfect example of a CG Megazord from 2013. So they create their magnum opus.
