today’s mdzs x epic vibe…
he will take you into his heart, over and over again, don’t care how where or when, no matter how long it’s been you’re his. don’t tell him you’re not the same person; you’re always his brother and he’s been waiting, waiting

"I'm... I'm here to tell you..." To tell him what? That it's fine? That I don't hate you? That everything is fine? That I don't blame you for having killed Jin ZiXuan? It was impossible. But she couldn't say anything that was the opposite either. And so, she didn't know what else she could say to Wei Wei WuXian, under such circumstances. It was just that she felt like she had to see this brother of hers once more. / "You ran so fast, I could hardly get a look at you."

I don't get the appeal of Lan Wangji going burn the world ultimate revenge for Wei Wuxian. When that type of persona is what Wei Wuxian ran away from in the first place because it was rigidly intolerant and he mistakenly did believe Lan Wangji was righteously vengeful.
He doesn't need to be intolerantly vengeful for Wei Wuxian to get Lan Wangji would stand by his side. Lan Wangji being a kind, patient man despite being seemingly cold, is what drew Wei Wuxian to him, and made Wei Wuxian drop his facades. Him being patient and willing to tease children, but able to urge them as well as prioritize their safety is another reason for Wei Wuxian to begin praising Lan Wangji along with the Lan juniors.
He is constantly juxtaposed to a man, Jiang Cheng, that is righteously wrathful, and who's not exactly praised by the narration of the novel. His lack of wrath and hate is what Wei Wuxian is attracted to when they are finally able to be with each other for extended periods of time. Especially when their only other interactions before Wei Wuxian passed had been Lan Wangji annoyed and (apparently) intolerant of Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian admired Lan Wangji's justice. He just thought that meant intolerance of him due to the wide acceptance from the entire cultivation world, was also in line with what Lan Wangji also believed. And this is disproven as soon as chapter 26.
The "revenge" he thought Lan Wangji would enact is softened to being able to tease Wei Wuxian back for the harmless banter Wei Wuxian always meant. Wei Wuxian did not want wrath and revenge on his own behalf, he wanted equality and understanding for solutions.
Lan Wangji enacting bloody hateful revenge on others misses the admiration that Wei Wuxian has for Lan Wangji's softer interactions and choices.

for the nth time, we are getting shiwang agenda from official capacity again!
three-body community's weibo account just released these amazing character posters for the 1 year anniversary. i absolutely love the details of everything, and of course the very very very strong shiwang agenda:
wang miao and shi qiang's posters are next to each other
there's a saying "č‡Ŗ古ēŗ¢č“å‡ŗCP/since ancient times, red and blue are colors for a couple" among chinese shippers, and shiwang posters are exactly matching red and blue. general chang's blue doesn't really count because it's a much darker shade, and obviously a reference to ADC.
shiwang posters are the only 2 posters with the same top pattern referring to the countdown. i love the detail that there's a border around shi qiang's countdown for obvious reasons. it's a slight pity that 1018:44:00 is not used here, but that might make the shiwang agenda WAY TOO obvious.
i also can't believe they actually showed shi qiang's countdown timer (the white shape on his chest) on the character silhouette.
wangfujing church on wang miao's poster represents when shiwang first start to bond. it's the scene that shi qiang remembers 200 years later in canon. project guzheng on shi qiang's poster is the last major event shiwang both participate in. it's something that won't exist without either of them (eg. shi qiang coming up with the "devilish" idea using wang miao's invention).
everything on their posters just refers back to something they experienced together. and if i ask someone who never watches the show to find two matching posters from the 9, it's gotta be these two.
i did keep the order of the posters as the weibo post, and here are the characters just in case (ding yi's background pattern refers to something in the dark forest):
wang miao, shi qiang, wei cheng
chang weisi, senior ye wenjie, shen yufei
ding yi, young ye wenjie, mike evans

(* I used the number of members of each character's most popular name (e.g. between Lan Wangji vs Lan Zhan, I chose Lan Wangji), to be fair to those who only had one name like Nie Huaisang. And anyway, it didn't make any difference to the ranking if I accumulated the followers of all the names.)

Do y'all ever think about Wei Wuxian's relationships and the places that foster them?
After Wei Wuxian's brief stay there, the Cloud Recesses are burnt down by the Wens. The place is destroyed completely, but it's built back up exactly the same as it was before. Resurrected Wei Wuxian can still recognize and navigate it by memory from when he was a teenager before all the destruction.
On the other hand, Lotus Pier, the place where Wei Wuxian spent the better part of a decade growing up, is almost unrecognizable to him when he returns post-resurrection. After Lotus Pier was sacked and massacred, after the twin prides fell apart in the war's aftermath, Jiang Cheng rebuilt the place grander and utterly different than it was before. The buildings Wwx remembers, including his old rooms, are gone.
I think that works quite well as a stand in for certain aspects of Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng's relationships with Wei Wuxian. Lan Zhan becomes Wei Wuxian's support, always solid and the same as he's ever been, and Jiang Cheng tries to remake himself into someone utterly apart from his old martial brother and the relationship they had.

one of my fav things about the untamed is the seemingly unlimited number of disciples like. there’s the final battle against the wens. dozens of disciples die, literally only the main characters survive. there’s talk of total loss and destruction, everyone is gone. cut to next scene: every sect is shown to have nearly as many disciples as they were depicted as starting with. rinse and repeat after every battle.

bits & pieces revealed about yibo + his character wei ruolai in today’s War of Faith creative team press conference & drama screening:
Tumblr media
1. The creative team shared stories about their time on the set at the press screening of "é•æé£Žę³¢ę³¢", mentioning that Wei Ruolai, played by Wang Yibo , was never late on the set and had a heavy workload of lines but Yibo can "completely win" on the set. Praising Yibo as a character who "stands up to heaven and earth.
2. Chief producer Dai Ying said that Wang Yibo interpreted the role of Wei Ruolai very well and gave everyone a big surprise. The performance is green but not jerky, showing the many stages of the character.
3. Director Yao Xiaofeng recalled that the Wang Yibo he had seen dancing on the stage was very different. He was a quiet, shy and polite little boy, which made a good impression on him. That kind of clean and youthful temperament made director Yao Xiaofeng feel that "it's him."
4. Chief producer Zhang Shuwei revealed that Wang Yibo would memorize his lines in advance every time he went to the set, and the discussion with the director was always about how to deepen the film. She was very surprised that Yibo dug into the character's heart and had never memorized or reviewed his lines on the spot with a script.
5. Wei Ruolai The character had a lot of big dialogue scenes, and we were under a lot of pressure every day during filming. Basically, he was upright, from the first scene to the last scene. It can be said that he had never had to bring a script to recite his lines on set or review the lines again, he completely mastered the lines in every scene. He never said NG or "wait a minute" because he was not ready, so he greatly exceeded expectations. It was a surprise and a special surprise. It may be a surprise for the director, the main creator, and everyone, and I hope this surprise can be given to the audience and everyone here.
