I wanna talk about how the only reason Chloe Carmichael hasn’t dropped out of school, gotten a tattoo, taken out her own eye, and gone on a crime spree is the fact that she has fairy godparents who are helping her keep her life on track
She really does a good job of not showing on the outside how much she struggles on the inside and that’s really telling of both her and the godparenting agency who sent her Cosmo and Wanda, I think. Just because she doesn’t look like a miserable kid at first glance doesn’t mean she isn’t one inside.

Lukanette June 2021 Day 13 - Reverse
@lukanettejune ....Guys I am really sorry! I got the days mixed up for Lukanette June 2021. I screwed up big time!
But I wanted to do something very special for the “Reverse” prompt. Something I have been planning for ages.
I am not gonna give the context for this one, just read it for yourselves ok? <3
Enjoy lovebugs!
Luka Couffaine was an ordinary teenage boy who lived in a boat and lived a mundane life until he met Master Fu in the park when he was just innocently playing his guitar.
Master Fu presented him with the miraculous of the snake, and Luka felt drawn to the bracelet and the little snake creature that inhabited it.
He wanted to say no, as his life was already complicated enough, being the oddball poor boy who lives in Paris, France. But Master Fu gently handed the miraculous to Luka and said, "You are destined for greatness, Master Luka."
Luka always hoped he was destined for greatness because he would love to believe that he would reach greater heights one day than simply living in a boat. Although being a part-time superhero may have been too great of a task for just him.
He had to make many excuses for his mother, the captain of the Liberty boat. She wanted to find Viperion lurking in the waters.
But Luka wasn't a water snake.
And his sister Juleka couldn't shake this feeling that her brother was acting differently, so Luka had to keep on telling her it was growing pains. So many growing pains!
Especially since the press questioned if Viperion was either friend or foe. Luka internally groaned, wondering why he was a snake superhero when a snake seemed like a more menacing creature than a heroic one.
It may have been cultural and age differences, but Master Fu said this was the correct path. So Luka felt he needed to prove that he was a gentle garden snake rather than a dangerous cobra.
Amidst all these complications, his miraculous partner Sass was one of his best friends. Sass was always there to provide gentle guidance when everything became too much for Luka. And it was fun when Sass perched on top of Luka's guitar. Sometimes while Luka played guitar and Sass would play on his tiny harp.
Then there was school, Luka had his friends, and Marinette Dupain-Cheng, his best friend. He could always talk about anything with her, and he was always there when she needed to cry. And in Luka's eyes, she was the prettiest girl in school, much more than the popular girls.
He thought he merely loved her as a friend, but things became different when he became a hero. She looked at Viperion with such wonder in her eyes.
Luka walked into the school newspaper room, and it was bustling as usual.
"You guys, we need to finish this Viperion story before the weekend!" Alya cried as she ran around the room, making sure everyone was working diligently.
Luka stood blankly, having to pretend he had no comment on the snake superhero.
"We're working our fingers to the bone to make a much less biased article on Viperion than the adult news press, believe me!" Marc said as he sat beside his boyfriend Nathienal as the two of them were busy drawing and writing on computers.
Everyone was too busy working to notice Luka. Still, he was more focused on Marinette, painting a full-body portrait of Viperion with watercolors. Luka smiled to himself and just watched her for a moment.
"That's a great painting, Marinette," Luka said.
Marinette put down her paintbrush and turned to him. "Thank you, Luka!" He smiled at him so sweetly and then cleaned off her paintbrush with a rag.
Alya then walked over, smirking. "Girl, you truly have it bad for Viperboy!"
Marinette blushed to herself. "Hey, he may have scales, but he is so gentle, like a beautiful garden snake."
Luka remembered the first time Marinette and the others were in danger. He was disguised as Viperion, and Marinette looked at him with such a bewildered gaze. But Luka held his hand out to her and told her that he would get her out of the burning building safely.
Marinette didn't shudder in his arms. She seemed really comfortable. He saw sparkles in her eyes that looked like stars. And as Luka ran with Marinette in his arms, he knew that he loved her.
"He's a hero!" Marinette said as she put the finishing touches on her painting. "I know it in my heart."
Luka smiled at the beautiful girl. "I'm sure there are plenty of snakes with pure hearts." He wasn't going to say anything because he needed to keep a low profile, but he was so touched that she believed in him, believed in Viperion.
Marinette placed her hand on the Viperion painting where his handsome face is. "I want to see him again," she said to herself.
Luka blushed. This was the dilemma. The part-time superhero wished he could tell her that he loved her and he was the hero she adored so much. But he had a responsibility, and he had to put his duty over his heart and to keep Marinette out of danger.
Maybe it was better this way, and one day Marinette would find someone else she wouldn't have to idolize. There is no way they could be an average couple.
"Marinette! Don't forget to help us work on the Viperion comic tonight!" Nathaniel cried from the computer.
Marinette turned and smiled. "I look forward to it!"
Luka smiled and shook his head, and then everyone's phones made alert notifications. Everyone had their faces glued in their phones, and Luka saw the danger.
"City Hall is being held, hostage!" Alya cried.
On their phones, they saw Hawkmoth and his band of hypnotized captives attacking city hall.
"Oh no, Chloe!" Marinette cried.
Their phones showed the Mayor and Chloe were tied up and threatened.
Luka could waste no time and ran out in haste to find a place to transform. But Marinette heard him as he ran out.
Marinette ran out and followed Luka as he ran down the hallway.
"Luka, wait!" Marinette cried.
Luka felt his heart stop as he stopped at the sound of Marinette's voice. She stood right behind him, and he couldn't find it in him to face her.
"Luka! If you're going to city hall, then I should come with you!" Marinette cried.
Luka turned and placed his hands on her shoulders and gave her a pleading look. "No, Marinette, you need to stay here!"
"I can't leave Chloe in danger!" Marinette argued.
Luka sighed and took her hands. "Please don't do anything reckless, Marinette! I will be right back."
He released her hands and dashed as far as he could. Marinette was so dumbfounded she stood in her spot.
"Luka...Why?" Marinette cried.
Luka made it look like he ran out, but he really ran to the restroom closest to the school's exit so he could transform.
Sass appeared before him.
"Master Luka, transform!" His kwami cried.
Luka nodded.
"Sass! Scales! Sliver!" He cried as a green light surrounded him and transformed into his outfit with mint green scales.
Luka then used his magical powers to sliver outside the bathroom window and into the air. He saw city hall at a distance where light signals were being waved.
Luka flew quickly and landed in front of the city hall. He was greeted by hypnotized civilians stalking him with devious looks.
"We have been waiting for you, Snake!" The civilian cried the exact words Hawkmoth would usually tell him.
Viperion held up his mystical harp. "I don't want to hurt any of you!" He said as he strummed gentle tunes on his harp.
He strummed healing tunes, and the hypnotized civilians blinked and snapped out of their trances.
"Oh! Viperion!" Said one of the civilians.
"You saved us!" Said another.
Viperion brushed it off. "You're safe now. Get out of here."
The civilians nodded and ran away.
And Viperion was ready to go in and face Hawkmoth.
Inside the town hall, Chloe and her father were tied up as Hawkmoth loomed over them.
"I know the ladybug miraculous is specifically hidden inside City Hall. Now, where is it?" Hawkmoth said, smiling over his captives.
"I do not know what you are talking about!" The mayor cried.
"Yeah!" Chloe cried. "You're totally lame, MothHawk!"
Hawkmoth was unphased by the Mayor playing dumb and Chloe throwing sass.
"Hmm," Hawkmoth moved closer to Chloe. "Maybe if I marry off the Mayor's daughter to my son, you have no choice but to confess all your secrets."
Chloe gagged. "I am not up for marriage!"
"Hawkmoth, you scoundrel! Leave my daughter out of this!" The Mayor cried as he tried to free himself to punch Hawkmoth himself.
Hawkmoth flicked the Mayor on his head to knock him on his back, laughing at the flailing Mayor.
"Daddy!" Chloe cried.
"I think you better think about your decision," Hawkmoth said. The fiend turned away from the Mayor and his daughter. "Viperion may be visiting us soon."
Hawkmoth closed the door behind them, leaving them in the dark. Chloe continued trying to break herself free from her restraints since her father didn't seem very motivated.
"Chloe!"
Chloe took a moment to listen to the familiar voice but then she heard the sound of crashing metal. A familiar pig-tailed girl broke the vent door and crawled into the room.
"Marinette!" Chloe cried.
Marinette smiled down at her friend. "Don't worry, Chloe, I'm here!"
Marinette climbed to the ground and quickly ran to the Mayor to untie him.
"Bless you, Miss Dupain-Cheng!" The Mayor cried.
With the mayor free, Marinette went to untie Chloe as well.
"You're a lifesaver, Marinette!" Chloe cried. "But you're just here to meet Viperion, aren't you. I felt this would be my turn to get his attention."
Marinette finished untying Chloe. "Just get out of here! Viperion will take care of the rest."
Chloe breathed out. "Alright!" She grabbed her father's arm to lift him up. "Come on, daddy, let's get out of here!"
Chloe opened the door and helped her father get out. Marinette lagged behind slightly, determined to get to the bottom of all the evil attacks in Paris and get the true story of Viperion.
Viperion ran inside the city hall building and got a glimpse of hypnotized civilians making a mess of everything as if searching for something.
Luka raised his harp and strummed some tunes to get everyone's attention.
"I don't think that's going to work," Cried a menacing voice.
Hawkmoth appeared from the shadows and grinned at the snake boy. He waved his hands and manifested more akumas to keep the hypnotized civilians under his spell.
"You are outmatched, little snake boy," Hawkmoth said.
Hawkmoth pointed at Viperion. "Get him!"
And the zombified city hall employees ran after the boy. Luka didn't want to fight civilians, so he grunted as he pushed the captives away from him. Then he pulled the switch on his bracelet with a click.
"Second chance!"
Luka appeared again from the entrance. The hypnotized employees still ran after him, but this time he ran from them to gain some vantage.
But Luka took a breath and realized he had to be calm, even if it felt like the entire world was against him. He strummed his harp for the akumas.
"No more evil-doing for you little akumas," Viperion said.
The akumas started to change back to normal, and the hypnotized employees were coming to their senses. The ones that did look absolutely terrified.
Hawkmoth tapped his staff on the ground and chuckled. "I can always make more akumas."
Viperion glared at him, and the freed employees ran away, screaming for the door.
Hawkmoth walked toward Viperion with a grin and a glint in his eye as akumas surrounded him. He pointed his staff at Viperion, and Viperion kept his guard up.
"You save these people at the cost of your life!" Hawkmoth said as Viperion was being cornered.
Just then, the announcement speaker screeched.
"It's over Hawkmoth! Surrender now before the police show up!"
"Chloe?" Viperion cried.
Finally, Hawkmoth was a bit intimidated. Neither he nor Viperion knew how Chloe was freed.
"Oh, Viperion! Sweet, handsome snake prince. Please play your song on the speaker to purify our city hall," Chloe said through the speaker.
The speaker! Viperion realized as he quickly used his air snake power to float to the speakers on the high ceiling.
"It's over Hawkmoth!" Viperion cried with his harp in hand. "Hear my song!"
Using his sound wave power, Viperion played his melodious song that charged into the speaker for the entire city hall to hear. Hawkmoth grunted as his akumas were fading, and the rest of the captives were coming to their senses.
Hawkmoth grunted as the lights in city hall were flickering back on. He was never strong in the light.
As Viperion played the final chords, the lights flicked back on, and everyone was safe. Hawkmoth stood frustrated in defeat, and Viperion landed in front of him, intent on unmasking him and turning him in.
"Surrender," Viperion cried.
Hawkmoth snarled. "I'm not finished yet!"
The man ran past Viperion, practically knocking the young boy back. Hawkmoth ran further inside the building into the shadows. Viperion wasn't sure what he was going to do, but he had to run after him.
"Viperion!"
The snake boy turned to see Chloe and her father coming his way.
"Viperion, young man!" Cried the mayor.
"Miss Chloe! Mayor!" Viperion cried as Chloe ran into his arms.
"Viperion, thank you for saving us!" Chloe cried.
Viperion noticed that Chloe still looked a bit distressed.
"But Marinette! I am not sure where she went!" Chloe cried.
"What?!" Viperion cried as his heart nearly stopped.
Just then, on the TV screen. Hawkmoth appeared smiling maliciously while clutching Marinette's arm. They looked as if they were in the records room.
Marinette was in danger, and Viperion was trembling.
"I have a new captive now!" Hawkmoth said. "Surrender the miraculous of the ladybug if you want her safe!"
"Oh no! We cannot risk Miss Dupain-Cheng's life!" Cried the mayor. "We should surrender!"
"No!" Viperion cried. Vengeance was in his eyes. "We can't surrender!"
Viperion pushed the switch of his bracelet once more, and Chloe was amazed by the glowing green energy around him.
"Second chance!" He cried as he was transported back to when he finished his song on the speaker. This time he ignored Hawkmoth and flew for the records room before Marinette could get there.
He flew as quickly as he could and found Marinette walking through the hallway alone.
"Miss Dupain-Cheng!" Viperion cried.
Marinette gasped and turned around, but when she saw Viperion before her, her face turned red. "Viperion!" She said in a whispered cry.
Viperion ran to her side. "Miss Dupain-Cheng. You can't be in here. It's dangerous!"
Marinette shook her head. "I came here to free Chloe and the Mayor. But I also came here because Chloe told me the miraculous of the ladybug is hiding here, so we need to find it and hide it somewhere else."
Viperion was stunned. Marinette did some daring things in times of danger, but this was a whole new level of bold.
Viperion breathed out. "Alright, but you must not leave my side, Miss Dupain-Cheng."
Marinette took his scale studded hand. "Ok, I won't. The miraculous is in the records room!"
They heard a crack which caused the two of them to hurry into the records room while Viperion locked the door behind them. Marinette opened a few specific records cabinets and dug her hands in them.
"It's not here!" She cried.
"Huh?" Viperion cried.
Suddenly, Viperion could feel in his snake senses that a crash was coming. He ran to Marinette and shielded her with his body as a bomb went off, destroying the door. Hawkmoth appeared from the shadows of the smoke.
Hawkmoth chuckled as he gave a menacing look to Viperion and Marinette. Viperion still shielded her, not wanting that old man to touch her again.
"I knew the miraculous was here!" Hawkmoth cried triumphantly.
"No, it isn't!" Marinette spat.
"The mayor must have moved it somewhere else now. Leave all of us alone!" Marinette cried as her bluebell eyes glared at the pathetic man.
"I think you're lying!" Hawkmoth cried. He pointed his staff at Marinette's glaring face. "But I can get the truth out of the mayor with you as a hostage!"
"No!" Viperion cried as he grabbed Hawkmoth by the arm.
Viperion's mint green eyes were filled with rage as he clutched the arm that touched Marinette in the other timeline. Hawkmoth tried to shake off the snake, but the snake's grip proved to be too strong.
Viperion unleashed his flying power and pulled Hawkmoth out with him breaking the window in the process. Marinette watched them fly away, but this time she couldn't follow her precious Viperion.
Luka flew in the air, this time, the devilish old man was his captive, and this hawk and moth hybrid was unable to fly.
Viperion's fangs showed as his eyes glinted anger toward Hawkmoth as he dangled him the air.
"Don't hurt her! Don't hurt any of my friends! Any of the people of Paris!" Viperion cried.
Hawkmoth said nothing as helpless being dangled by the grip of Viperion.
"I will reveal you!" Viperion cried as he reached for his mask, but Hawkmoth hit the snake boy in the face with his staff causing the hero to drop the villain.
Hawkmoth was falling to earth, and Viperion was determined to catch him. But Hawkmoth had a blank face as he accepted his fall and vanished in a flash of akumas. Viperion landed on his feet and took out his harp to play and quick tune to purify the remaining Akuma back into bright white butterflies.
The thing is, though, Luka tried his second chance multiple times to try to reveal Hawkmoth. But each time was a failure, as if the universe wouldn't allow him to know yet.
Luka turned back and realized he had to go back to Marinette. But he had to attempt a second chance to make a timeline where the records room and the window were unharmed. It was the most frustrating part about being the snake miraculous hero, reliving an event a hundred times for the best outcome.
But when Viperion returned to see Marinette safe in the records room, it all became worth it. Her bluebell eyes glimmered for him.
"Viperion!" She cried. Her voice was so lyrical, calling for Viperion.
Viperion smiled at her.
"You always make sure we get the best possible outcome. I can't imagine how hard that can be," Marinette said.
Viperion flexed his hands. "Anything to protect the people of Paris."
"But you work so hard. I can take you to a cafe with me. Or an amusement park. And there is this most beautiful garden…" Marinette was so hopeful as she gave those suggestions.
"Miss Dupain Cheng…" Viperion said.
"Please call me Marinette!" Marinette cried. "You don't have to be so formal with me!"
Viperion smiled. "I can't afford to take breaks. What is most important is getting you home." He said as he offered her his hand.
Marinette took his hand and held it close to her. "Viperion, you shoulder so much responsibility, and you deserve more. I just adore you so much!"
That last line she said so boldly, sadly Viperion wasn't allowed to be bold.
Luka couldn't help but blush behind his mask as Marinette was moving in to kiss him, and he didn't feel like stopping her. A girl like Marinette placing her warm lips on his cold lips and placing her warm, soft hand on his cheek.
Luka enjoyed it so much he almost wanted to protest as Marinette broke the kiss and rested her nose against his. But Viperion gently moved away and turned his back to her.
"Miss Dupain Cheng," he said sternly but gently. "This is far too complicated for us to be together."
Viperion turned back to face her, but Marinette said nothing. Although there was disbelief in her eyes.
Viperion moved closer and gently took her hand. "Now, I must take you home."
~~~~
Viperion carried Marinette bridal style and gently set her down on her balcony. Marinette didn't want the snake boy to leave. She wanted to explore the world with him, but Viperion smiled at her as he sat on the railing.
"Marinette Dupain Cheng, please be careful next time. I wouldn't want to lose you," Viperion said.
He knew he shouldn't confess his feelings, but he figured saying that was harmless enough.
"Ok," Marinette said as Viperion gave her one more enchanting glance before taking off in the sky.
Marinette watched him go and then opened up her tiny purse and pulled out the ladybug miraculous earrings she kept hidden this whole time.
"Now, I will keep them safe."
~~~~~
Viperion flew back to city hall to check up on Chloe and the Mayor. They stood by the entrance and were pleased to see their hero.
"Viperion!" Chloe cried as she ran to him and threw her arms around him.
"Thank you for saving us again," Chloe said as she gave Viperion a quick kiss on the cheek.,
"Yes, you did an exceptional job young man," the Mayor said.
"But I must give some unfortunate news," the mayor said in a bit of distress.
"We were indeed tasked to hide the ladybug miraculous in city hall, and we hid it in the records room where no one would suspect. But the ladybug miraculous has truly gone missing."
Viperion stepped up. "I'll find it. It couldn't have gotten too far. Even Hawkmoth couldn't find it."
Chloe still held on to Viperion's arm, but Viperion gently had to free himself as he was about to leave.
"I need to go!" He cried.
"Wait!" Chloe cried, reaching her hand out to him. "At least let me buy you dinner, Viperion! You must be starving."
"Sorry, Miss Chloe, I truly have to go. That miraculous cannot end up in the wrong hands," Viperion flicked the switch on his bracelet and disappeared in a flash of light.
But Viperion searched the entire city to no avail for the powerful ladybug miraculous.
~~~~
The next day of school, Luka needed to recharge desperately. He sat alone by the fountain and played his music, drowning out all people and getting into the zone.
But then he felt his tune soften as he felt the presence of a certain girl with pigtails.
Luka opened his eyes and saw Marinette had a pleading look in her bluebell eyes.
As happy as his heartstrings were to see her, he felt weird looking into the eyes of the girl who kissed him when he had his superhero persona on.
"Hello Luka, I hope you are not interrupting anything," Marinette said.
Luka rested his guitar on his lap. "No, I wasn't busy."
Marinette bashfully looked down. "I-I wanted to ask…."
Luka didn't want Marinette to think she was burdening him.
"You can ask me anything, Marinette," he said.
Marinette took a breath. "I wanted to ask if you could go to the garden with me. Everyone else is busy."
Luka gave a soft smile. "If you want to Marinette, I will go with you."
Marinette clapped her hands together. "Yay! Thank you!"
After school, they walked side by side to the garden they spent time in since they were children. It was the perfect place to get away from the bustle of the city. Marinette took out her phone and snapped some photos of the flowers while Luka couldn't help but smile down at her.
She commented on how happy she was that spring was coming and the flowers were showing their blooms.
"I feel change is coming for all of us as well," Marinette said. "And it will all be beautiful changes." Marinette sounded so sure.
Luka couldn't help but wonder, but right now, he felt like he was still in act 1 of his superhero legacy, and part of him was afraid of what was to come. Especially since Marinette was in love with Viperion.
Marinette gently moved the flowers and nearly yelped.
"What's wrong, Marinette!" Luka cried as he ran to her side.
Marinette was silent as she lifted the plant again.
"Oh, Luka!"
Luka wasn't sure what she was referring to until the tiny creature moved from under the plant.
"Luka, it's a garden snake. He is so beautiful!"
Luka blinked as he saw the adorable garden snake with mint green scales. Marinette offered her a gentle hand and told the snake that she was friendly, but the snake didn't seem interested.
Luka held out his hand for the garden snake, and the little snake lifted his head and slivered on Luka's arm. As if the snake knew Luka by heart.
"Luka, he likes you!" Marinette cried. "It's like you two are connected!"
Luka smiled down at the little creature, and then he and the little snake turned when Marinette held out her phone to snap a photo. Then Luka placed the snake back in the garden and thought about Viperion for a moment.
This moment was so poetic if only she could see through his mask.
But it was too risky.
Suddenly both their phones went off in another alert. Marinette's smile turned into fear as she worried what terror was after Paris now.
Luka looked at her as she felt so helpless watching the scene on her phone. He pulled down his sleeve to reveal the glow of his bracelet.
"Marinette, I vow to protect you no matter what!"
Author’s Note: Yeah...I know it’s not very innovative but I did at one point think to myself “What  if Luka is the superhero and Marinette was the civilian?”
Kind of lame but I had fun writing this...Reminds me of how one of my other OTPS is Superman and Lois Lane.
And I had loads of fun writing a Marinette and Chloe friendship where there is friendly rivalry for Viperion’s effections.
Honestly I am busy right now and I am not interested in making this Viperion hero AU as a series...Maybe sometime in the future.
But if someone else wants to take a stab at it give me a holler!
And I apologize if this is a bit rough I finished it in a haste.
Thank you for reading! <3
A Date With The Devil
Word Count: 1105
Pairings: Lucifer Morningstar x Reader
Warnings: mild angst, fluff, cheesy lines
A/N: requested from anonymous
Summary: Lucifer was nothing if not stubborn. Despite your continuous rejections to his attempts to ask you on a date, he persisted. Your resolve was beginning to wear away, and his proposal was looking more and more tempting.
..................................................................................
"It's simply one date my dear, I don't understand why you won't accept. It'll be a wonderful evening I promise you. Although I find your commit to continuously refuse me, rather endearing, I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps you just like the sound of the word no."
You stared at your clipboard as Lucifer gave you an overly dramatic spiel. Your attention was split between filling out the form and listening to the handsome devil in front of you.
"Accompany me just once darling, you must be getting tired of constantly rejecting me." Lucifer said.
You laughed a little shaking your head.
"Not really, it's the highlight of my deliveries here."
As you scribbled your signature down, you noticed it had become quiet. You looked up for moment to see Lucifer looking at you expectantly.
You rolled your eyes.
"As tempting as your offer is, I'm going to have to decline. Again."
He frowned at your answer. You handed the clipboard to the bar tender, and turned to Lucifer with a smile.
"I don't mix business and pleasure, Mr. Morningstar."
Lucifer followed after you as you walked towards the exit.
"A rather drab rule is it not?"
You opened the door, pausing in the doorway as you looked back at him.
"Sometimes, goodbye Mr. Morningstar."
You walked out of the building, letting the door close behind you.
~
Business was slow today at your little shop. The high point of week had been delivering to Lux. The bottles of alcohol you were placing on the shelves clinked together, almost distracting you from the sound of the bell ringing above the door.
You peered over your shoulder, craning your neck to get a better glimpse at the door. A blonde woman walked in, looking around. You climbed down from the ladder you were on, approaching her.
"Can I help you?"
She showed you a badge, and you raised an eyebrow.
"I'm Detective Decker with the LAPD, I was wondering if I could take a look at the security footage from the cameras outside your shop?"
"Can I ask what for?"
You moved a crate of whiskey bottles to the side, brushing the dust from your hands.
"There was a murder last night, across the street, we're hoping maybe your cameras caught something."
You opened your mouth to respond, but the bell above the door chimed once more. An all to familiar man walked in and smiled widely when he saw you.
"Y/N! You're working today? Wonderful!"
"I own the shop, I'm always working." You reminded him.
Chloe looked between the two of you, clearly surprised.
"Do you know each other?"
Lucifer grabbed a bottle from the counter, examining its contents.
"Of course, Y/N here makes the best whiskey in LA, and her bourbon is almost sinful." Lucifer grinned.
You grabbed the bottle from his hand, returning it to its place on the check out counter.
"I'm one of his vendors." You explained.
"Yes, our relationship is strictly professional, much to my displeasure." Lucifer sighed.
You suppressed a smile as you motioned to your office.
"You wanted to see the videos?"
Chloe nodded and followed you into the room with Lucifer in tow. He hovered over you as you sat at the computer.
"No other employees to help?" Lucifer asked.
You tapped away at the keyboard, focused on the screen.
"Just me." You muttered.
"You must be awfully busy darling, when do you make time for yourself?"
You smirked a little, shaking your head as you stood.
"No."
"I haven't even asked yet love, at the very least you can allow me to get the question out before you turn me down."
Chloe couldn't help but smile as you gave his shoulder a sympathetic pat.
"I'll burn you a copy of the footage Detective."
You walked out of the room, leaving the two of them alone. Almost as soon as you were gone Lucifer began rummaging through your calendar.
"What are you doing?" Chloe frowned.
"Looking for her schedule, a little black book perhaps, there must be some reason she's refusing me."
Chloe grabbed your notebook from his hands, setting it back on your desk.
"You can't just look through her things Lucifer." She scolded him.
"How else am I going to find the reason for her rejections?"
"Did you consider, just for a second, that she may not like you?" Chloe sighed.
Lucifer looked at her blankly for a moment, before scoffing.
"Don't be ridiculous Detective."
~
You walked back in the room, holding a CD in your hand stopping in your tracks when you saw Chloe trying to wrestle your calendar away from Lucifer.
"I am so sorry about him-"
You handed her the CD, laughing as you shook your head.
"I've known Lucifer for years, I've gotten use to the lack of privacy." You joked.
Chloe thanked you for the CD, and she hurried out, yelling for Lucifer as she left.
"Just a moment Detective!"
You closed your office door, turning back to the devilish man.
"Did you forget something?"
Lucifer cleared his throat a little.
"Humor me for a minute my dear."
You crossed your arms, but said nothing. He took your silence as a sign for him to continue, and he did.
"I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but if you would just agree to go on a date with me once. We could see for ourselves whether or not our relationship should remain, as you not so delicately put it, professional. I'm simply asking for a chance to-"
"Okay."
Lucifer stumbled over his words, looking at you with shock.
"Come again?"
"Okay." You repeated the word once more.
Lucifer stared at you in disbelief, seemingly unable to process what you had said.
"I apologize darling but for a second, I could have sworn that you agreed to go on a date with me."
You rolled your eyes, walking past him to get back to work.
"If you'd like me to refuse like I normally do, I can."
Lucifer grabbed your arm, pulling you back over to him.
"Now let's not be hasty love, I was simply caught off guard is all." Lucifer said quickly.
You smiled at him, pulling your arm free.
"I'm closing the shop early tomorrow, and crowded restaurants stress me out."
Lucifer grinned brightly.
"Then I shall pick you up at eight."
"What? You're not going to give me any time to change? Look nice?"
"Don't be silly my dear, you're always breath taking."
He gave you a quick kiss before leaving you there, smiling like an idiot.
Marinette, work in progress - Ch2
The sound of bird chirping accompanied the rain waning down.
“Petrichor,” Marin quipped as he took in a deep breath of that musky smell, and sat down at one of the park benches to contemplate his first day at school.
  So… Chloe is with me in class, that is a major disappointment. But Adrien… that’s something I did not expect, at all.
  A homeless person lay next to Marin. He considered how the rain must have not been kind to them, yet they still looked cheerful enough.
The woman rose up and looked at him with mild curiosity, then suddenly a smile of recognition came about her.
“Hey… I know you, you’re the Dupain-Cheng kid, aren’t you? I used to order bread from your bakery.” The woman said.
“Oh?”
Marin tried his best to jog his memory, but to no avail.
“Fanny. Fanny de Travers.”
Oh!
He had vague memories of her as a polite lady, but not much more.
“I used to work as a freelance tailor, until I became too sick to practice the trade.”
That jogged his memory a bit. He now remembered she used to show his mom some embroidery occasionally. In fact, it may have been one of the few things that kindled his interest in fashion.
“You know what, Fanny? Wait right here, I’ll be back in a moment!”
Like any self-respecting bakery, the Dupain-Cheng boulangerie had a bag for unsold goods that were destined for charity. Marin quickly picked some of the best he could find from it, wrapping it up and hurrying back to the park.
Much to his surprise, when he came back, Fanny was already chatting freely with one of his classmates.
“Mylene?”
“Oh, Hi there Marin!” She said, as both her and Fanny looked at his wrapped bread. “I didn’t know your bakery was part of the anti food waste program!”
Fanny couldn’t have been happier at the sight, followed by the smell and the taste.
“That tastes real good, reminds me of the times I could actually afford it.”
She took one good crunchy bite, then sighed, pocketing the rest in her jacket.
“Do you two know each other?” Marin asked, mildly surprised at the unexpected encounter.
“Mylene is an activist, I’ve seen her once or twice in demonstrations.”
Mylene nodded in approval. “Just doing my small share at making sure Paris is a better city for everyone.”
Marin wasn’t sure if he ever excelled at reading people’s sincerity, but something about Mylene’s enthusiasm seemed highly convincing.
It’s quite nice to have someone like her in class.
“Now, I’m really sorry to bid you farewell; there’s a demonstration I’m going to.”
“Oh!” both Fanny and Marin exclaimed. “What’s it about?”
“I don’t actually know yet,” she admitted sheepishly. “We’ll get all the details soon.”
Just as she made that statement, several city construction workers started spreading around the park, taking measurements and making chalk marks.
“Hrm? Is something going on?”
“We’d have to ask you to leave soon. We’re about to install new benches in the park.”
“New benches, that’s really nice!” Fanny looked at the construction workers, hopeful.
“Ha. Wait until you see them,” one of them responded, a mysterious smile to him and a certain gleam in his eye. Something about Fanny seemed to deflate at that moment as her movements slowed down and her senses seemed to sharpen. It was that moment when another of the construction workers gave her a friendly pat to the back and said “I’m terribly sorry.”
“What would you be sorry about?” she asked, almost instinctively, even though her expression gave in that she was starting to realize it. In a few moments, they all saw the crane hauling over the new bench.
Marin had never slept in the street, but it was obvious to him there was no way anyone could ever sleep on that angled stone slab, much less with the bars attached at strategic locations and the shallow, but disruptive, segmentation.
“No, please…” Fanny begged, to no avail, as Marin’s heart sank at the cruelty.
Who’s to hear her cry, a plight to be allowed some dignity in her sleep?
And even if the construction workers were to listen and open their hearts to her plea, was there anything they could do about it?
Marin watched Fanny’s head droop as she slowly walked away from them.
“Try the other way,” the friendly construction worker called to her. “It will be a longer while before installation plans reach that part of the city.”
“I… I guess that’s what today’s protest is about.” Mylene sighed deeply. “I better hurry.”
“Can I… can I come with you?” he asked, and Mylene nodded.
  ---
  A whirr of a motor disrupted the silence as rays of light disrupted the darkness as well, opening just a bit of Hawk Moth’s lair to the world.
“Yes. Just the feelings I need. Despair against a merciless municipality. Rage against civil servants with a heart of stone. Fly away, my precious akuma, and evilize her!”
  Fanny walked aimlessly, trying to get as far as she could from that park. Eventually, she succumbed to the thoughts of futility and leaned her back at one of the trees on the boulevard, sobbing. Another pedestrian casually bumped into her, not even bothering to utter an apology.
She looked about, paying no special attention to the odd butterfly that approached her, as it landed on the piece of bread sticking out of her jacket’s pocket.
  It was then when she felt some kind of mental link being formed and silvery eyes prying into her soul.
“ Stoneheart. I am Hawk Moth. Wouldn’t you like to repay those who failed to listen to your pleas, those with a true heart of stone?”
“With pleasure, Hawk Moth”.
The purple-black mist enveloped her, as she morphed into Stoneheart, a giant made of pure stone.
  ---
  Marin and Mylene were walking at that very same boulevard, as a deafening sound and a shake of the earth rattled them to their core.
They both looked at Stoneheart with great fear, their minds doing their best to comprehend its existence, with little success.
“What… What is that thing?” Mylene cried. Marin was swift to pull her from its way as its foot crashed into the ground, seemingly ignoring them both, much to their relief.
“I don’t know, but we had better run away!” Marin answered as both nodded and fled the boulevard.
Marin ran off as quickly as he could, his feet carrying him away towards the safety of his home. He tried his best to forget about the scene he just witnessed, to no avail. It’s not like he was empowered to do anything about it anyway, now was he?
Well, at least Alya would be very interested, I bet she’d love to chase and photograph the thing.
Just as he was about to fetch his phone from the school bag and call her, something dropped out of it, an object he did not recognize. He picked it up and examined it thoroughly.
The thing looked like a highly ornate tiny box made of lacquered black wood with strange engravings.
“Huh? What’s that doing here?”
He cautiously opened the box, curious as to the pair of earrings found inside, as a tiny red creature with a black dot on their forehead emerged.
“First a monster and now I’m imagining things,” he quipped.
“Huh? Well, imagine this!” The creature flew and forcefully smacked right into his right side.
“Ouch, what did you do that for?”
Wait a minute...
“You’re real!”
“Yes! My name is Tikki and I’m a Kwami.”
“My dad must be pranking me.”
Marin waved his hand as if trying to find the strings that supposedly make Tikki move.
“We don’t have time for this, you have to listen. We have to beat Stoneheart.”
Marin looked at her with intent from several directions, going ‘hmm’ as he did.
“You’re a bit too small for that.”
“Don’t be silly. There’s something super inside you waiting to be unleashed.”
“The only thing I’m super at is being the school’s super laughing stock!”
Tikki seemed to ignore his statement.
“Just memorize the important parts. The invocation of your special power is by saying ‘lucky charm,’ but you will detransform after five earring beeps, so wait for the right moment to use it.”
Marin looked at her, still thoroughly unconvinced, though he did place the earrings over his ears as Tikki expected him to.
“Okay… I’ll try to remember all of that,” he said.
“And after that, you need to find the akumatized item, break it, then capture the butterfly using your yo-yo.”
Marin nodded.
“I still think this is all some kind of a prank.”
“Then you wouldn’t mind saying ‘spots on’, would you?” Tikki seemed to taunt him.
“Spots… on?”
  ---
  Marin got a glimpse of Tikki’s form getting sucked into his earrings. By then, he was no longer able to suggest it was a prank. His body seemed to gain a life of his own, his hands motioning over his eyes, a red mask forming over them. The transformation then proceeded towards the rest of his body, covering it with a red-and-black hexagon patterned suit and the yo-yo Tikki promised formed near his hip.
“Well, that’s a surprise,” he said, as he looked at himself in the mirror and he realized it was far more surprising that he had initially imagined.
“I’m… a girl now?”
Something about those words felt right. Too right. Almost temptingly right.
Too tempting… and not true.
I may have a girl alter ego, (s)he thought, but that doesn’t mean I am a girl, now does it?
(S)he wasn’t too surprised that the feeling still lingered on, despite her supposedly-rational thought about it. The image in the mirror was too hard to fight off.
(S)he casually waved her hand and was still surprised that the image in the mirror did the exact same.
“Well then… it’s time to save the world, isn’t it, Tikki?”
There was no response.
“Oh my, guess she’s part of my suit. Perhaps that’s why I have a feminine form!”
That revelation made her feel joy at figuring it out and the same time cast some unexplained sadness upon her.
As if (s)he wanted to have a genuinely feminine part to have brought about that form. But alas, (s)he was a boy. A not-so-happy fate, as far as (s)he had considered, but a fate nonetheless.
“So. Ladybug.” she whispered.
My girl persona.
I have a girl persona.
I’m free to act like a girl when I’m wearing this suit.
  ----
  Marin left her room to her porch as she considered her options. She pulled out the yo-yo and an idea came to mind, about using it as a means of transport.
It’s a bit crazy but worth a try, I guess?
A quick toss and it latched perfectly upon a stone gargoyle in a nearby cathedral. She tugged it and found herself thrust forward.
That works!
She quickly landed at the cathedral’s balcony, where another figure stood. One very similar to her, though clad in black. Being the Ladybug-themed superheroine, then he must be-
“Chat Noir, pleased to meet you. You must be the partner my kwami told me about.”
“Well, my kwami failed to mention any partner…” she said, “But two against one sounds better.”
“Uhh… About that, I have some really bad news, partner,” Chat Noir called as he pointed towards the street below them. A group of Stoneheart clones were now thrashing through Paris. In between them, she spotted one wearing a familiar jacket.
Fanny?
The jacket-wearing stoneheart pointed towards a nearby beggar and they instantly turned into yet another clone of theirs, joining their growing army.
“We have to stop them before they get out of control!”
Chat Noir was quick to vault towards the scene and Marin followed, using her yo-yo yet again as means of transport. Chat Noir was careless enough to land smack in the middle of a group of stoneheart clones, while Marin was much more careful in planning her landing.
“Cataclysm!” he called it and touched his hand to the ground, causing a minor chasm to open up and giving him cover to vault away to safety.
“Wow, that was so cool! better have another one ready,” he suggested. “Cataclysm!” He called it again.
Marin stared at Chat Noir who seemed perplexed that his super-power wasn't recharging on its own.
“Looks like your Kwami failed to mention important things too! You only have one shot at it. It’s all up to me now, I guess. LUCKY CHARM!”
Marin cupped her hands to find a firehose dropping into them.
A firehose? That’s almost too easy!
“Cover me, partner!” she said, and Chat Noir was quick to fend off some stoneheart clones with his baton and allow her to reach one of the fire hydrants. As she plugged it, she tried her best to aim at Stoneheart’s pocket, to no avail.
I have to do better than this.
She quickly slid between the legs of some other stoneheart clones, jumping over yet another two and stuffing the hose straight into the pocket in Stoneheart’s jacket.
The torrent of water was quick to dislodge and soak the piece of bread, swiftly breaking it apart. In a moment, all the Stoneheart clones detransformed, leaving behind dazed people, as the akuma butterfly fluttered away.
“You’re done causing trouble, little akuma!” she called as she tossed her yo-yo away, whisking the butterfly into her yo-yo.
“Bye bye, pretty butterfly!” she waved at the now white purified butterfly, then looked at the fireman’s hose she carried.
“Miraculous… Ladybug!” She cried as she tossed the hose sky high and it burst into a shower of ladybugs, going about Paris and correcting whatever damage Stoneheart had caused.
  An earring beep reminded her of her time limit.
“Tomorrow at eight, same cathedral. Don’t be late, partner!” She bid him farewell and quickly ran off.
  ----
  Her earrings made their final beep just as she hid herself in the alley and detransformed.
“I was… a superheroine,” she mumbled. “But now I’m a boy again, I’m-”
Something about being Ladybug thrilled her far more than just her superpowers.
Something about the suit seemed to fit in a way that was much more than merely physical.
The thought about being a boy again made her sick to her core and by now she realized very well why.
She’d be forced to forever live out the gap between her feminine alter ego, let loose in superheroine form, and the boy life she has to endure.
The bullying. The harassment. Laughed at for being gay.
If only I could actually be Ladybug. If only I truly had that in me.
As if to reinforce that exact thought, her school bag just slipped away and its contents spread around, reminding her of the very thing she wished to forget. A gentle, manicured hand picked up her history book and her eyes went wide.
The scrawl was gone.
Huh?
As if by themselves, tears of happiness poured out, as her hand gently fluttered over the now-clean history book.
It’s gone! that… that awful thing, no longer here to haunt me. The blatant reminder of my supposed place. How many tears have I shed over this?
In-between her tears, she also noticed something else. Her hand, which was feeling the book, was now different as well.
How could I have missed that?
Gentle. Manicured.
A girl's hand.
Wait.
Hold it right there for a minute.
No… it can’t be… it’s… I…
I didn’t change back.
I DIDN’T CHANGE BACK!
Hands gently trailed her now feminine features, stroking her face which was previously slightly bearded (much to her chagrin), now smooth to the touch. Cupping her breasts, squeezing them just a touch.
They’re… real. It’s all real!
She looked at herself and something just felt feminine, right . (She would only later be able to identify it as body fat distribution changes)
“I…”
She began saying something, then stopped as her own voice startled her. It was now higher-pitched than before. As if she hadn’t gone through this awful puberty.
Feelings of joy, surprise and fear of the unknown overwhelmed her. She collapsed at the nearest bench, crying her heart out.
“Are you okay, girl?”
“I’m… girl… I…”
She called me a girl. I’m a girl now. I’m really a girl now.
“Do you need some help?”
I… but… do I even know the least thing about actually being a girl?
This thought made her dizzy, as another began to chase her.
I’m a girl now. That’s… ten times as hard, isn’t it? Being so…
Tikki… I have to talk with Tikki.
“I’m fine,” she mumbled towards the woman, as she made haste home, ignoring everything and everyone who stood in her way as she barged through the bakery’s door, the bell ringing loudly.
“In a hurry, Marinette?” Her dad called, but it barely registered in her mind. She quickly opened the door to their home and quickly climbed the stairway, opening the door to her room then gaping in awe.
  ---
  “It’s… it’s beautiful!” she squirmed full of excitement. Her room now looked nothing like she had remembered it. Her eyes were first drawn to the pink upholstery, replacing the drab grey memory and evoking glee at the cuteness it radiated. The lounge chaise was a perfect match and she had to restrain her urge to immediately jump and lay over it. Her feet dragged her as if by their own volition to her desk, colorful and inviting, tastefully decorated with various trinkets.
“Awesome!” she almost screamed as she sat on her chair.
“So, I take it you like your new room!” A high pitched sound was heard, as Tikki emerged from her purse.
Wait, I have a purse? And it’s all pretty and pink?
“Well then, Marinette, how do you like your new life?”
Marinette blushed furiously.
“I… it’s… it’s everything I ever wished for, without even knowing it. Even my new name feels… perfect.”
That admission only managed to further her embarrassment at being unable to get a good grip on the situation and she tried her best to look away from Tikki.
“So, I should tell you exactly how it works, then.” Tikki zipped in front of Marinette again, denying her the privilege of looking the other way.
“The Miraculous Cure has rewritten everyone’s knowledge of you and reshaped your life. Should you ever want to reverse it, you will need to call for the Miraculous Cure again with that intent.”
Marinette chuckled.
“I… don’t see that happening anytime soon.”
“As for your own body, this one couldn’t be handled by the Cure as it avoids subjectively fixing you.”
“Oh?”
Well, that does make some sense, I guess?
“So, I am sustaining that magic using a small portion of my power. Should you need your maximum power, you can ask me to drop it temporarily.”
“Well, I don’t see that happening either. Tikki, things are... ”
She paused, trying to contain her excitement.
“Things are the best they have ever been. I am looking forward to school and living my new life.”
Marinette looked at her bed that suddenly looked oh-so-inviting, both on account of how it looked and on account of her being so tired.
“Guess it’s time for me to go to bed… Good night, Tikki!”
“Good night, Marinette.”
Marinette tucked herself into bed, a wide smile to her that refused to fade.
  ---
  Dear Marinette… While I did this much for you, your quest towards accepting who you really are is far from done. The real challenge lies deep within you.
Chapter 7: Like a sleepover.
Alec parked his car near the church and cursed himself when he realized his mistake since his presence confirmed to the reporters that something or someone interesting was inside, when he approach the benches he could se Paul who was lecturing a woman with an angry tone that he had never listened before, neither have the old lady in front of him since she looked terrified at him.
"Don't come here acting innocent, the lord knows when your motives are driven by greed and I truly hope whatever you use the money they gave you is worth it, and don't you dare to blame it on your grandchildren since they don't need to have this terrible example from their grandmother" He was obviously restraining from using more harsh language but the anger on his face was enough to make his point clear, and Alec even stop himself from storming in. "Now go away Mrs Campbell, and I hope you would think about your actions when you go out and talk with that people" The woman went out walking rapidly and visibly shaken.
"I was under the deception that priests never get mad" the detective enter the room and Paul gesture relaxed immediately. "Although is rewarding seeing you act out like that"
"Well they do when their congregation sell out each other for money" He said fixing up his clerical collar and regaining composure. "I'm glad you are here, it's madness out there, this town I thought they were better than this"
"Well you choose a profession full of disappointments" Y/N voice came from the altar and she approached now wearing what Hardy asume were donated clothes to big for her making her look like a child, and he brushed away the endearing feeling bursting in him for a second "For what is worth you should be more like that, maybe seeing the personification of the wrath of God in your face would make them listen" She said touching his arm making him smile, a stupid smile in Hardy's opinion. "D. I. Hardy, I was not expecting to see you so soon, but I assume you are not here to tell me I can go home already" She said with a pinch of hope in her voice that was killed the instant Alec look at her.
"No, I'm afraid not, and since you staying here has already been released to the media within four hours you can't longer stay here." He said trying to think what to do next.
"Yeah, and Ellie's ... I mean D.S. Miller's nephew certainly did a number on me didn't he?" She said bitterly, she appear more calmed, and he could see a glimpse of the woman who's thoughts he had spend the morning reading.
"That bloody idiot, he would sell out his own mother for a "good story" and he always think he is doing the police a favor, only making our job more difficult" Alec was angry and his mind was still trying to figure out his next move.
"Well now I'm glad I never dated him." Y/N said trying to lighten up the mood. "I can stay at the Trader's I can pay for that for a couple weeks, I would hate to cause more trouble"
"I don't think you should stay that close to Jonathan's house" Pauld said getting ahead of Hardy "Maybe Beth can take you, just for the night at least" He said and then look at Hardy.
"Sure, I mean if she agrees" He said knowing she will since they had been in a similar situation before.
"Great! If you think you can trust Lizzie's family to murderous psychopath, it'll be just like a sleepover" Y/N said sarcastically making both men feel uncomfortable. "I'm kidding? You guys really need to relax" She said looking at them "Now how am I supposed to get out of here?"
"I may have an idea" Hardy said finally with his expression still as stoic as ever.
Ellie stormed in her sister's house and the young man working o his laptop stood up immediately trying seeking cover behind the kitchen table.
"You bloody bastard!" She screamed at him and she grabbed the closest thing to her
"He hey hey... relax" He said putting his hands in front of him, she throw the ceramic fruit to his head. "Hey you almost hit me!" He screamed when she missed and the pear shattered in pieces.
"What the fuck were you thinking?!" Ellie scream again "Don't you have any decency left since you came back? That poor woman you have signaled as a suspect is not even at the police station anymore you moron."
"What? But you take her in for questioning, and she was covered in blood... and..." Olly realized his mistake and start looking at his aunt with sorrow, he was not about to betray his source but he understood that he had done something wrong "Damn it Ellie I'm sorry, I thought it was legitimate information"
"Well it doesn't matter anymore, once again I'm going to clean up your mess, come by the station we are going to release an official statement about Norbury's death and maybe it will help to clear out this mess" She was being reasonable, more than he can hope for since he was sure she was still pissed.
"And the woman? If she is not at the station where is she?" He jump straight back at the subject annoying Miller.
"Too late for you, didn't you hear? There is a horde of reporters raiding the church to talk to her" She smile at him, happy to see he didn't know, and hoping that Hardy had taken care of that end.
Paul came out of the church and a small figure covered jump in the car with him and he drove past the reporters who immediately try to follow him and some even did on their own vehicles, maybe when they figured he was just going out to get the paper and some groceries with the help of a boy that was being punished for misbehaving at school, would they realized their mistake, and how they didn't pay attention to the pair of people that walked from the back of the church to the Latimer's house.
"So, did you talk to Dr. Florence?" Y/N asked when the garden of the Latimer's was in sight "Oh come on, they can't no longer see us" She urged him when he gave her another of his angry looks.
"I did, but I am not supposed to discuss any of the investigation with you" He said finally.
"Fine, I'm sure she was pleased to see you again" She said and smiled at his puzzled face "I have seen you in her office before, and I overhear the last time you were there, you made a big deal about not wanting to come back"He looked ashamed and open the fence of the backyard to avoid her look "Relax I won't tell anybody, no one will listen anyway, I'm crazy remember? We can still be therapy buddies" She wink at him and enter followed by the baffled detective.
"Oi! I thought she was supposed to escape the press, come inside before any of those idiots will see you" Mark Latimer called them and they hurry inside.
"Mrs. Latimer, I don't know how to thank you"Y/N said once they were inside.
"It's nothing, Chloe's room is clean and free since she is at Uni, you can take it, can you show it to her dear?" Mark nodded and they walk out of the kitchen and Hardy could see her holding on to Lizzie a little more than usual.
"I wouldn't bring her here if I felt she was in any way guilty you know" He said to her and her arms relaxed a little.
"Well you can never be completely sure. But if you trust her we would help you for as long as we can."
"Don't worry, I just need her to have a place for the night we will figure something else tomorrow" He said and a couple minutes later he walked out of the house to get back his car. Ellie had the press release almost done by the time he arrived at the station and the sun was setting on Broadchurch.
"Busy day huh?" She said offering a cup of coffee "Brian is finishing with the house but he said he found something interesting about the cottage, he will tell us later, are you ready for the press."
"I'm fine, I swear Miller this bloody town is fill with idiots, this woman just lost her fiance and they are making all this circus about it" he sit on his chair and let go and exasperated sigh. "Let's get this over with".
It was as simple message, a man have been found dead and the police was investigating several lines of information, they had no idea who had done such monstrosity, and they urged the public to speak up, and no they were not considering the partner of the victim as a suspect, yet the mind of one of the many souls watching said, and turn off the telly, before exiting the room carrying a purple suitcase with the name Jonathan Norbury on it.
season three episode two
Before we get into the intricacies of this subpar episode, I want you to close your eyes, inhale, and reflect: is the guy you’re dating your boyfriend, or is he a father figure to you? Think about it. Now let’s cut to the feeling.
I don’t know about you, but seeing a groggy Old Man Ish clumsily lumber around in a backwards hat and a short-sleeved gorilla tee while holding his morning coffee made me immediately sick. And I’m just watching it on TV. Imagine being Madisson and waking up to that. Like, yes, this show is my sole will to live, but even I can’t stomach this. It really can’t get worse. Oh my God. Ish just described Brandon as “agro.” It did get worse.
Tumblr media
Thank god Ish is finally off my screen and I’m back to looking at G baby and BG. Appetite restored. Jared’s also there, so I’m unable to entirely recover from the Ish debacle, but I guess this is the best I can hope for. And may I just add that I am absolutely loving this playful “boys” scene? Seeing the guys boolin with their goon squad is bringing the vibes up big time. BG doesn’t even seem upset about Dadisson – in fact, he begins talking about a potential budding romance with Amanda! And just like that, we’re back on track.
Tumblr media
Strap in. The scene I’ve been waiting for. Dadisson’s reveal to her actual, biological father. Fade in. Jon, Madisson’s bio dad, is seated outside at a cute restaurant, completely unaware of the bomb that is about to explode in his face. As he looks up and sees his daughter walking over with her former producer, you can see the confusion setting in. Wait, what? Why is my youngest daughter walking in with Ish, the show’s old producer? Isn’t she supposed to be introducing me to her boyfriend? Oh, no . . . I think at that point, Jon must know, but he’s remaining willfully ignorant for as long as possible. And I get that, Jon. I do.
 Ish has this special oafish trudge that seriously makes him look like some sort of ogre and I am absolutely living for it. When the lovebirds take their seats, a dark cloud rolls over the Key. Reality sets in. Madisson starts telling her real father about her new Daddy, and my heart is racing. After establishing their respective ages, Jon takes a deep breath and calmly asks the most uncomfortable question your Dad could ever ask you about your boyfriend: “Is he a father figure to you?”
Tumblr media
Let’s decompress. This has to be one of the rawest scenes on reality TV, so pour one out for Jon, who at this point was undoubtedly racking his brain trying to recall the exact moment he fucked Madisson up so badly that she now actively chooses to bang 50-year olds. I feel bad for you, Jon. Back to the show.
Tumblr media
Madisson is crying, Jon is reeling over his mistakes, and Ish is trying to defend his relationship. As for me, I have one question: could Siesta Key have provided these poor souls with drinks before forcing them to do this on camera?
Tumblr media
After that cringey scene, I’m more than happy to watch Amanda and BG have a SPICY meetuppé. Unfortunately, Amanda begins serving me really strange vibes and I’m kind of scared of her. There’s too much licking involved on this date and I’m not interested. Let’s cut to the next scene, where Madisson and Brandon meet to hopefully get closure.
Tumblr media
Finally, we get a glimpse of the breakuppé timeline! If you remember correctly, Season 2 ended with us thinking we’d get a glorious Bradisson reunion in Season 3. Alas, we have Dadisson instead. Please don’t misconstrue this as a complaint, because it’s very far from that. I’m just a little confused as to how Dadisson came about, and apparently, so is BG. Madisson explains that after she moved to LA, she no longer felt connected to Brandon. Two months after breaking things off, she began taking to Ish. Brandon isn’t buying it. He’s convinced their relationship has been brewing for some time. Personally, I believe her. She’s never lied and I think Brandon is projecting his own issues onto Madisson. Thoughts?
Tumblr media
Lots of tough conversations today – now we’re at Cara’s waiting anxiously for her to drop the news we all knew was coming from the moment she started dating Garrett. That she wants to break up. I think now is as good a time as any to unpack Garrett’s love life. Garrett. Get it together. The whole “hot but stupid” narrative is something the producers are pushing . . . right? You cannot possibly be this idiotic IRL. But love is blinding, I guess. Garrett was cheated on by Kelsey (with Alex), used by Juliette to make someone jealous (Alex), and used by Cara to piss off Kelsey and Juliette (and Alex.) Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me three times, and you can call me Garrett Miller.
 Okay, time for Kelsey and Juliette’s housewarming / rosé party! That had to be the whitest sentence I’ve ever written. The party begins and everyone seems to be in good spirits. Side note – I really applaud the film crew for catching everything that they do. They even got a short clip of Garrett having difficulty opening the front door and included it to perpetuate the very true belief that Garrett is actually a failed artificial intelligence robot project gone wrong.
Tumblr media
Chloe arrives with a shot ski, but “Con Artist” Robby has to one-up her by bringing a TV. She’s convinced he’s bringing it to make up for how small his dick is. Boys, you heard it here first – don’t even THINK about bringing a TV to a party unless you want everyone to know how small your penis is! Madisson’s not even paying attention to Boring Robby’s embarrassing genital blunder because she’s too busy eyeing Amanda and Brandon. She even has the audacity to whisper, “I just hope he has the best intentions.” Right, because Ish definitely has the best intentions with you. Okay, Madisson.
 Notably missing from the soirée is Cara and my new favorite cast member, Victoria. Kelsey obviously vetoed Cara’s invite, so C and V decided to get a romantic relaxing beachside massage instead. Cara begins explaining that she’s only stringing Garrett along because he functions as her safety net. Meanwhile, at the party, Juliette is having to spell this out to simple Garrett. He looks glum. Suddenly, Garrett’s “unhappy hour” t-shirt seems much more fitting.
 Chloe and Amanda are in a corner, and shocker, they’re talking shit about Juliette and Robby. Juliette overhears, confronts them, and tensions rise. Chloe and Juliette step outside to discuss it further, and it becomes very apparent to me that Juliette is utterly plastered. Chloe is basically sober. What could go wrong?
 Everything! Chloe starts off by asking Juliette what she thinks about their friendship. Obviously, these two have a sordid past, but Juliette is literally too blackout to articulate anything, so Chloe’s immediately won this before it even really begins. Towards the end of the conversation, Juliette starts wagging her finger in Chloe’s face. Chloe slaps it away, so naturally, Juliette retaliates by PUNCHING HER IN THE HEAD. Juliette, I love you, and I’m normally on your side, but this is just not a good lewk. Chloe is straight chilling while Juliette attempts to rip out her extensions. So of course, Chloe looks like the normal one, and Juliette looks like she’s on The Bad Girls Club instead of Siesta Key. Hopefully, she’ll learn a lesson from this, because violence is never the answer!
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Juliette doesn’t learn that lesson! As soon as Amanda steps in to break up the fight, Juliette also tries to hit her. She also can’t understand why Amanda is being so harsh when Amanda was the one who punched Chloe in the face and broke her nose two years ago. Which I feel like is valid! Everyone is screaming, running around and fighting. Genuine chaos. Anarchy. The only person there who is remaining calm is Brandon. He is quite literally the human embodiment of Switzerland. Immediately I’m reminded of that part in Twilight’s third book, Eclipse, when Bella is forced to be the voice of reason and soothe the tensions between vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob. In order to fight the vampire army that Victoria’s newborn lover has created, the vampires and werewolves must put aside their inherent differences and join forces. If not, they could totally ravage Seattle, travel to the quaint town of Forks, and potentially eat Police Chief Charlie Swan!! By becoming a neutral Switzerland, Bella narrowly avoids this horrific fate. Like Bella, Brandon remains neutral in a time of utter disaster. Thanks, Brandon. But more importantly, thank YOU, Stephanie Meyer.
Tumblr media
 Kelsey swiftly removes everyone from her home and starts looking for Amanda’s lost phone while Boring Robby hugs Juliette and tries to make her feel better about being the worst. And Kelsey standing around in the background after having to forcibly remove all her friends from her property while her roommate makes out with her boyfriend is such a vibe.
Tumblr media
After Cara comes to the rescue to pickuppé the stranded party guests, the episode ends. Overall, I was pretty unhappy with this episode, but I feel that it was a necessary step to get us back in the right direction. I just miss Alex. He needs to return from Europe immediately. I’m tired of all of this girl drama and I want Boring Robby to become Interesting Robby. The next episode seems promising – but we’ll have to wait and see.
Video game ( pt 1)
Hey guys I hope you like this, if I get people liking and saying They want part 2 to this I'll post it !!! Enjoy 😄 Also message me any prompts!!!
Beca was your typical gamer girl. She always bought the newest and coolest video games. She had both Xbox and PlayStation. Even had an Atari. She just overall just loved video games.
It wasn't a surprise she was in line for the newest Call of Duty. She got there at 2 in the morning, to make sure she was first when the doors opened. She waited patiently in line. She talked to a few people, just small talk. She watched as the sun come up. She also watched at the rest of the employees come into work.
One employee caught her eye. She was a bubbly red head. She was no taller then Beca. She was wearing a black tee and some shorts. But something about her made Beca lose focas on what she was doing.
All of a sudden she snapped back to reality. "Fuck" Beca mumbled to herself. She totally lost focas, that the doors had opened. She rushed in quickly to try to get a copy of the game before it was sold out.
She was on her tip toes trying to get a glimpse of the display. When she finnaly got a look she let out of a sight of frustration. There was none left.
(Later that week)
She went back to check to see if there were any more coppies. She walked walked in and saw the red head again. She shook her head and headed over to the display. As soon as she got to the display, she saw one copy left. But as she was walking to get it, a teenage boy quickly grabbed it. She on her way out when the red head called after her.
" hey dude, come back" Chloe called after the small brunette. Beca turned around to fund the read head signaling her to come over. Beca went to the counter to see what the red headed wanted. "Hi" Beca mumbled awkwardly not knowing what to say. " by any chance were you looking for the new Call of Duty game?, cause I may or may not have a copy" Beca's eyebrows rose up in shocked. " dude how'd you know ?" Beca asked surprised. "Well I saw you last week in line and also you're in here now." " well yes I've been trying to get it, but no matter were I go it's sold out." "Well I may have 2 copies back at my house, and I may or may not need someone to show me how to play." Beca laughed "if you don't how to play then why would you have 2 copies?" Chloe just laughed " I want to learn how to play video games" "well i can help you out with that, I'll just need your name, number, and possibly your address" Beca said trying to sound confident. " my name is Chloe, * starts to right number down* and here's my number. I'll txt you my a dress when I get off.
Beca felt butterflies in her stomach, about going to a hot girls house later and teaching how to play video games.
“Liv, what is this?” Liam looks at the sign curiously.  “Ring this bell three times to see a glimpse of what could have been.  Know that what you see may not be what will be seen.”  He read out loud.
“It's a magical tale from King Luther's time.  Legend had it during his imprisonment at Stormholt that Queen Azure came to him in a vision and offered him a glimpse of what could have been.  He was so convinced what he saw will come true that he attacked Queen Kenna and died by his son's hand.” Olivia waved her hand in dismissal at the primeval-looking bell.  “It's a myth, just like the stories from Kenna's time.”
“Not all of the stories were myths.  The adventures that they had did happen; perhaps somewhat exaggerated, but they did happen.” Liam pointed out.
“Go ahead and ring it,” Olivia smirked, “I don't think you would see anything different.  All of your dreams came true the day you married me.  With the baby coming any day, your life is perfect.” She looks amused as she rubs her swollen stomach.
“Thank you for your permission, your Majesty.” He holds her hand as he rung the bell.  “Here we go.  It's a loud bell.  I am surprised that it worked; I was expecting that it would break.”
“It's annoying .” Olivia frowns. “It's giving me a dreadful headache. I think I will head back to the castle. Liam?” She turns to him only to see him lying on the ground.  “Liam, get up! Answer me!” She screamed as she knelt beside him.
The knocking came quietly at first and then there was silence; just when Liam thought it stopped only to hear a more urgent pounding.  “Liam, wake up! You are due at the church in six hours.  You need to get up now.  If you don't get up, I will let Maxwell in here.  Not to mention that Madeline will have my head if you don't show up on time.” Drake yelled from behind the door.
Liam shakes his head in an attempt to clear his mind.  “What wedding? I got married two years ago.” He murmurs.  “I didn’t think Liv would want to renew our vows so soon.”
“Liam!” Drake yelled. “That’s it.  I’m getting Bastien to open this door!”
“I’m coming.  Just hold on.” Liam replied.  “Just give me a minute.”  He reached for his phone to check the date only to see a message from Evelyn.  He reads out loud, “Can’t wait to see you at church! I’m so excited to become Mrs. Rhys! What?”   Liam races to the door and opens it.  “Drake, I can’t marry your wife.  I’m married to Olivia!”
“Are you alright?” Drake frowned with a hint of sorrow in his eyes.  “You’re marrying Evelyn, not Liv.”
“No, I’m married to-“ Liam trailed off. “I can’t believe it worked.” He looked amused at Drake.
“What worked? Do I need to send for a doctor?”
“No, I’m alright.  I’ll need to get ready to leave.”  Liam closes the door.  “Although I wished this pounding would stop.  Just need to relax and keep going to see what happens.” He closes his eyes in an effort to make the headache go away.
“Darling?”  Liam felt a gentle nudge to his side.  “Liam!” He hears a familiar laugh.
“Evelyn? But you’re not supposed to see the groom before the wedding?”
“What are you talking about?  It’s our 25th anniversary!” She beams at him.  “Everyone’s here to celebrate with us.”
“Papa’s getting forgetful.  Maybe you should retire.” He looks up to see a young woman smiling at him.  “Papa?  It’s worse than what we thought, Mama.  You alright, Papa?”
“He nodded off just now when you were giving your speech, love.” Evelyn smiles at him.  “It was wonderful by the way.  Just perfect.”
“Thank you!  I’m glad someone listened to it.” Astoria sticks her tongue out at Liam.  She turns around to see a woman approaching them.  “Aunt Olivia!”
“Good evening, Princess.  Your Majesties.” Olivia greets them.  “Congratulations on your 25th anniversary.”
“Olivia!” Liam clenches his fist, remembering that he was no longer married to her in this life.  “It’s good to see you.”  He extends his arms for a hug, relishing the scent of her.
“Liam!” She smirks at him.  “Old age kicking in?  I saw you a week ago at Antonius and Astoria’s wedding.”
“Antonius?” He frowns. “Who’s Antonius?”
“Antonius, my son.” Olivia glanced at him, her eyes tight and worried.  “Are you alright?”
“Who’s your husband?”  He asked her shakingly.
“Anton Severus. Really, Liam, what has gotten into you? Do you want to s- Get down!  Get down Evelyn!  Astoria!  No, not Astoria!  Bastien!”  Olivia screams as gunfire breaks out in various areas.  “One, two, there’s too many.  The guards won’t be able to handle this many.  Liam, you have to go now.  Damn it, where’s Bastien?”
“Not without you.”  He grips her hand tightly.  “Olivia, you have to come with me.  Anton’s not who you think he-”
“Your Majesty, we have to leave now.” Bastien grabs Liam as he shields Liam with his body.
“Liam, just go.  Whatever this is, it can’t wait.  Bastien, go!”  Olivia flings his hand aside.
“Duchess Olivia, you have to come with us.”  Bastien grabs her arm.
“No, I’m going to see where my fam-” Her sentence left uncompleted as she collapses, bullets riddling her body.
“Liv?”  Liam screams as Bastien pulls him away.  “Let me go! Damn it!  That’s my wife!”  Liam feels something hitting the back of his head and his world goes black.
“Liam! Damn it, you need to wake up!”  He hears Drake yelling at him.
“Liv!” He sits up.  “Where’s Liv?”
“Here we go again.  Always about Olivia.  It’s your family’s death anniversary and the first thing you say is Olivia”  Drake grits his teeth as he spat the words out.  “You know what, I can’t do this right now.  Not today.  Get dressed, you have one hour before the ceremony to be a decent person.”
“Drake?  Of course, even in this reality you love Evie so . . .” He whispered.  “I’m sorry . . .”
“Don’t say that.  Not to me.  Save it for later.” Drake walks away and slams the door shut.
“I don’t want to know anymore.”  Liam cries out.  “Liv . . .” He feels chest pains as his vision fades to black.
“Liam!”  He hears her worried voice.  “Liam?”
“Liv!” He smiles and opens his eyes, drinking her face in. “You’re alive!”
“Yes, of course I am.  Are you alright?” She whirls around to the doctor.  “Are you sure his head’s fine?”
“Yes, your Majesty.  His vital signs are normal.  If you will allow me to do a quick check.” The doctor reads the monitor and flashes a light into his eyes.  “Vitals are normal.  I would suggest some bed rest, you hit your head when you fainted.”
“I’m fine.” Liam grins at the doctor and Olivia.  “Just glad I’m here in this reality.”
“This reality?  Doctor, I really think he should go for a MRI or a CT scan.”  Olivia peers at him worryingly.
“I’m fine.” He leans to kiss her.  “Never better.  Is that our friends outside?” He asked as he hears Maxwell, Hana, Drake and Evelyn’s voice.
“Yes,” She said drily.  “They all rushed outside when they heard my screams.  We were very worried. Shall I let them in?”  She rises to get the door.
“No, just stay here a while with me.” He pulls her back.  “I love you.” He kisses her hand.
“I love you too.”  She smiles at his affection.  “I almost forgot, you rang the bell.  Did you see anything?”
“Nothing.” He smiled at her.  “Everything is as it should be.”
{ For a walk || ROBANYA }
Tagged: Robin Haseo, Anya McCalister, ft: Chloe Lynn @anya-the-dreamer @chloe-eva-lynn Location: Boardwalk Timeframe: May 6th, 2017, mid-day General Notes: Robin and Anya go out on a date. Pretty much fluff and Robin getting annoyed because he’s a sub.
Anya: When a Dominant friend of Anya's offered to take her to the boardwalk, she got excited. Like stupid level of excited before it meant she could have a whole day off the grounds and do something different as she never been there before. Miss Chloe, who'd been so kind to her in the past, said she was more than happy to take her and when Anya presented the idea of asking Robin to go along, Miss Chloe encouraged it; even offering to pick him up along the way. Sooooo, now Anya waited in the back as her eyes looked out the window towards Robin's apartment. The last time she was here her dad brought her. Her dad...he didn't know what she was up to today and she wished upon all the stars possible, that he wouldn't. Not yet. Not when she wasn't ready to tell her about her ever-growing feelings for Robin. Anya played nervously with the lock on the door while Miss Chloe talked on the phone with someone. Her mom maybe.
Robin: Sure, Robin and Anya had been seeing each other more often since Valentine's Day, but the boardwalk was a much welcomed change. Usually the two would spend time on campus, usually ending up in Anya's room to 'study', which usually just meant a quick review before locking lips-- not that he complained. Nonetheless, the message about going to the boardwalk was something he did not expect, but accepted with open arms. He knew that someone else would end up joining the two, which was quite a change from the usual hushed tones and privacy the two had been so used to. That was something that Robin was not sure he was too keen on, but that wasn't anything new. Even when he had been in a claim with Dizzy, he rather have been in private than around others. That wasn't to say that other company was something he liked, the latter was just what he enjoyed and preferred more. Once he finished getting ready, he waited for the message, letting him know that they had arrived. Once his phone buzzed, he didn't even have to look, he just left the loft and hurried down the stairs.
Anya: Chloe chattered away on the phone and Anya played with her hair. She fixed it a bunch of times before leaving her room but nothing felt right. Why was she still so shy and nervous around Robin? It wasn't as if this was their first time out together. Anya ducked to look out the opposite window and she saw someone approaching. "There he is," Anya said with a big smile. She waved through the window at him and Chloe turned to eye Robin with a smile of her own. It sounded like she was about to end the call but Chloe got to laughing and started to talk about something about a baby shower.
Robin: He passed only one other person as he slipped by the mailboxes. He gave them a polite nod, ducking his head right after as he finally opened the door and stepped outside. the car was right upfront by the sidewalk, and he clearly spotted Anya through the window, as well as a very distracted   Chloe. He hadn't been around Chloe in quite some time, and unfortunately, he wasn't sure how he would feel, considering all that had happened since he left. Nonetheless, he offered Chloe a polite smile and nod as he opened the door and climbed into the car. His eyes then fell right onto Anya, his smile soon turning more sincere as a quiet 'hey' left his lips.
Anya: Robin had this way to make her feel so happy and warm with just one look and Anya moved over to be next to him.  Her small hands took hold of his and she smiled brightly, as if this was the first smile she wore all day. "Hey," she repeated back. "Thanks for saying you'll come," The car went in motion after Chloe said hi to Robin and she spoke in Spanish. Or what Anya assumed was Spanish. "She's been on the phone with her mom. I haven't listened in to the conversation." She couldn't stop looking at Robin. He was so handsome and she tried to remember all his details so she could imagine him when he wasn't around.
Robin: As Anya's hands took his own, his fingers curled, brushing over her knuckles as they finally held hands. It was a simply gesture, but one that he felt so much better whilst doing. It was quite strange, even holding Anya's hand in front of another, seeing how when he was with Dizzy or even Brittany, he had been so hesitant to show any form of PDA. He spared Chloe a glance ever so often, mostly because the conversation she shared with her mother had been a tad-bit distracting. "Oh, okay," he muttered before glancing back over at Anya, his smile wide. "Yeah, no problem," he replied.
Anya kept close until she realized she needed to put her seat-belt back on. With a low voice she said, "I've never been to the boardwalk before. My parents aren't big on doing things with the water. So we did very little with the lake." She clicked her seat-belt in place. "Miss Chloe said she'd drop us off and come by to pick us up when we're ready to leave." Anya looked at the Domme, appreciating that she offers to do this.
Robin glanced over at Anya, had tilted as she informed him about the lack of water activities their family had. "Why's that?" He asked, quite curious to learn the reasoning behind their choice. He spent a lot of time near the water, seeing how he was raised near the coast. His family usually spent their down time together near lakes or even at the beach-- much to his dismay.
Anya: "You know? I actually was never told. I thought it might be some weird fear of water? That's a thing isn't it?" She looked at Robin and caught a glimpse of passing buildings behind him, through the window.
Robin: "Yeah, maybe," he shrugged. While he enjoyed talking with Anya, his words were still quite quiet, though he figured that it would change once they reached the boardwalk.
Anya: Was he upset with her? She couldn't tell because he wasn't usually this quiet but she couldn't get herself to ask when Miss Chloe was right there. Anya cozied close to him, as much as she could with the seat-belt in her way, and she held his hand with both of hers. Anya leaned to lay her head onto his shoulder and looked out the windshield. Miss Chloe had grown quiet and Anya didn't know if the call ended or she was listening to the other person. If she was still with her mom or not.
Robin: Anya gave Robin some assurance, how she snuggled up next to him, both hands holding his. It was quite comforting. He honestly hated how just being around a Domme these days, a Domme whom he once trusted, caused him so much anxiety. He felt recluse, quiet, as if he would have been strongly reprimanded if he did something wrong. Maybe that was why he felt so closed off and short worded when she messaged him? He didn't want to think about it, not now at least. Instead, he let his fingers brush against Anya's knuckles, tracing each bump as he looked out the window.
Anya: Chloe hung up the call when she realized her Mamita got tied up on the other call she took in the middle of their. She removed the headset and looked up at the little scene through her rear view mirror. It was so cute and sweet, causing her to smile because of it. "So you guys only want to do the boardwalk today or have anything other places you want to visit?" Anya nor Robin mentioned they were seeing each other, not romantically, but she figured something was going on by the way Anya approached her concerning today."I wouldn't want to trouble you with so much driving, Miss Chloe." Anya started. She raised from Robin's shoulder and looked at him. "Do you want to do something later? After the boardwalk thingie?" Anya asked him quietly.
Robin glanced over at Chloe, but he didn't answer, not at first at least. It had been Anya's suggestion to go to the boardwalk, so he wasn't sure if she wanted to do anything else. Besides, he didn't want to bother Chloe just for her car. "I think the boardwalk is good," Robin answered after Anya. "But thank you for the suggestion, Miss."
Anya: Chloe nodded to them and then to the music that played. "No problem. I know it's not easy for you guys to get to places and I don't mind helping out." She said with a bright smile. "I have some errands to run so I'll be around the area." The car slowed to a stop at their destination. "You both have my number. If anything pops up or you get bored, just let me know." Chloe turned to look at them, smiling. They looked cute together. Anya didn't know if they were supposed to keep their relationship a secret from others but she couldn't quite help holding his hand and giving off the silly happy expression. "Thank you so, so much, Miss. it's very nice of you to do this."
Robin offered a sincere smile, albeit small. Despite his anxiety and quiet demeanor, he truly did appreciate how Chloe was so willing to help them out, even in the simplest of gestures. "We'll let you know, Miss," he replied softly, giving her a curt nod in the process.
Anya thanked Miss Chloe again and left the car, going to where all the people were standing and talking while they took pictures. Anya waited for Robin to come up to her, ready to start their afternoon together.
Robin: Once they arrived to their destination, Robin thanked Chloe and left the car after Anya. He took to her side, a sincere and broad smile on his face. He already looked far more comfortable than he did while they drove.
Anya: "There," she said with her arms around him. "I thought you were upset with me in the car but now you look like your usual self," Anya looked up at Robin and gave him a kiss on the side of his chin. "Was something on your mind in there?"
Robin: There was a sense of calm when Anya wrapped her arms around him, yet at the same time, he was acutely aware that others surrounded him. He still didn't care. Usually he would, but this time, he didn't. "I'm sorry," he answered just before the chaste kiss on his chin. The kiss only caused him to lower his face just enough to kiss her on the lips, and while it was a quick sentiment, it was more PDA than what he was used to. "No more than the usual.. but don't worry about it, I'm just glad that we're here."
Anya took his word and nodded. She trusted Robin and knew if she wasn't to worry, then she shouldn't. The submissives openly hugged and behaved in a cutesy manner before Anya forced herself to break enough body contact to walk hand-in-hand with Robin. "I don't know anything about this place. It's entirely new to me."
Robin: "I haven't either," Robin responded before gazing down at the Submissive he had so easily fallen for. "Lets just walk around and see if anything catches our eye?"
Anya: Maybe they could just go to a bench and hold hands and talk for their entire day together. It sounded so nice but, she looked past him at a ship docked there, it would also be nice to experience what this dock had to offer. Anya took both of his hands and tugged him with her to start their walk. "How are things with you?" She knew he had stuff going on and she liked to hear about it all.
Robin didn't tug away from Anya's hold as she led him down the boardwalk and through the thin crowd. "Pretty good. I started my internship at the company I mentioned to you, and its going really well," he answered. The older Sub had been quite excited to take the internship that had been offered to him by a Toronto based robotics company.  While He only helped in the background, it was a step towards being completely independent, something he had found that he craved. "What about you? How's school going?"
Anya: "Soooo," she started while she moved around and walked next to him like a normal person. "What are you doing there exactly? I picture big robots getting built. Like the type in those futuristic movies. But that'd be more military I think. I don't know. It sounds like it would be." She kept talking and not stopping until her thoughts tapered off. "School's school. My grades are fine. My dad is pleased with them." He smiled, knowing Robin was the reason behind this.
Robin chuckled softly at her description, shaking his head as he pulled his other hand away, leaving her to hold just one as she walked beside him. "Right now, I'm just helping the software developers and making reports for the projects," he answered simply. He knew that as time went on, he wouldn't work too much with the hardware, since he wanted to be part of their permanent, software team. He couldn't help but smile at the update on her grades. Even though many of their study sessions were interrupted, they did focus a lot on her course work. "That's great! I'm glad he took notice.." If only her dad could know that they did more than study.
Anya: "Can you see yourself doing this for a long time?" She knew of subs who did things outside of home stuff but she never got a chance to talk to them. Plus Robin was even more special because he used to be a void and was able to get his status back and do things he enjoyed. "He's always on me about my grades. He wants me to be as learned as possible and that it'll come in handy when I'm courting a Dominant. God that sounds so backwards. I don't want to go through all that crap."
Robin didn't have to think about what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, besides even if he didn't want to, it was the best route for him to take. If the company liked him enough, he wouldn't have to worry about getting into a claim, and he would have more than enough to take care of himself or anyone else who came along. "Yeah, I think so," he answered simply. Honestly, the idea of Anya being sent off to some Dom made his stomach turn. He hoped that maybe if he was secure in the company, he would prove to Anya's father that he would be worthy for his daughter. If that wasn't, Robin did have something else up his sleeve, he just wasn't sure if he was able to stomach going that far. "Well, hopefully it won't come to that.... let's just... not think about that right now.."
Anya: "Okay. We won't." she said, taking what he said and respecting it. There were days when Anya had to remind herself that she was dating another submissive. That her mind continued to see Robin as a Dominant figure even if he never had been one before. There was something about him that made her want to kneel for him and have him take care of her. But she knew, deep down inside, that they didn't have that type of relationship. Though she did mentally submit to him every once in awhile. "Where do you want to start?" she asked. "Do you think we can go on one of the ships? That would be super cool if we could!"
Robin: He gave her hand a quick squeeze, just for some kind of assurance. He couldn't let her know that he always feared the worst, that he father would force them apart. For now, he pushed those thoughts aside. "Yeah, let's do that."
Anya tugged at his hand to led Robin to a boat. There was information on it but she bypassed all that boring stuff and hurriedly brought them aboard. Anya went to the side and looked over the edge at the water. "Can you imagine a life out at sea? You live on one of these for months on end." There was something so romantic about it but she knew people got sick or weren't the most pleasant. "I think I read somewhere there were female pirates. They went against what society want of them and mutilated the s mark on their skin to live the type of life they wanted. Gosh. If I can do that that would be truly something!"
Robin scurried behind Anya as she pulled him towards the docked boat. He tried to read that plaque that was set for it, but of course, Anya seemed for more excited to actually board  it. He followed behind and stopped once they finally got on the boat and stopped by the edge. "You wanna be a pirate?" He questioned, a soft chuckle on his lips. "I mean, anyone who does something like that is pretty brave.. besides, it's one thing to destroy your S, but another to act out in your new life.. I'm not sure if that's brave or something more.." Robin, while he didn't like the Sub lifestyle anymore, he didn't think he would ever deface the mark he bore, mainly because he already knew what was worse.
Anya: "Oh Gosh. I don't think I have it in me to be a pirate. That takes so much guts and I get scared about disappointing people. That's not exactly something I'm capable of. Not even if it were in a past life." she said as she thought about his question. "It's a bold move to basically unbrand yourself and live other outcasts. The people that society wants nothing with but you keep reminding them of your presences by pillaging and whatever." Anya laughed, "I wonder if that was how Robin Hood was. If they did the same thing with their marks or if they would have tried to follow everything but still try to do things on their own terms."
Robin: Even though he didn't comment on it, he really couldn't see Anya doing that either. She was too pure and kindhearted. Truthfully, he didn't think she could hurt a fly, much like she said, not even in a past life. "Maybe, I mean, he already was an outcast for doing what he did in general.. taking from the rich to give back to the needy.."
Anya's fingers curled tightly on the rail and she leaned back, pulling her body away while holding it tight. "Hmm," she hummed. "Maybe. They could have been voids. Like rogue voids. Almost like the pirates but not as intense." Anya turned to look at him, while still in her leaned back position. "Can you see yourself doing that? Not because you share a name with him, but the whole rob from the rich to give to the poor?"
Robin chuckled softly before finally shrugging his shoulders. It wasn't a completely bogus concept: Robin Hood being a rogue void. It honestly made a lot of sense, considering how voids were treated quite harshly back then. The question caught him off guard, causing him to stare at the other, even if only for a short while. "I don't think I could do that."
Anya: She let go of the rail as soon as she was back to standing normally, or she'd fall back and make a sense. Which wouldn't be fun for either of them. "I imagine something like that would be hard," she spoke slowly, turning to him and going to place her arms around Robin's middle to hug. Anya looked up and thought of something. "Is it weird I can picture you doing it?"
Robin gazed down at Anya once her arms wrapped him. "Kinda..." He teased before looking back out, though his eyes didn't rest on anything in particular. "Wanna continue going?"
Anya: "Hey...I happen to think you're totally capable of doing that. Maybe not in the same way as Robin Hood but I think there's something about you that feels like the type to speak up for people. To help them out when they need it." She said honestly. Maybe this was just the way she saw him, but to Anya she considered Robin to be very strong. She did want to keep going but she also wanted to just get that little bit out.
Robin: While Robin didn't respond to that-- at least not verbally-- he felt as though his heart was close to pounding out of his chest. He wanted to speak out more, he wanted to stand up for those who felt like they couldn't for themselves. Despite everything he believed in, it was quite hard. He wished he was able to change that, he hoped that he would. Maybe then, Anya would be right. He squeezed her hand, letting her know that he had not ignored her words. "C'mon, let's get going, more things to see, right?"
Anya: He was right and Anya felt a little bad because she didn't know if what she said was something he wanted to hear or not. She followed his lead and fell into step as they went more onto the ship. This was her first time on one and there was a lot to look at and take in. "Have you ever been on one of these before?" she asked him, placing her other hand on his so she held the one with both hands.
Robin: "I've been on a small boat before," he answered easily, his eyes still surveying the space around him, catching a few people who toured the vessel along with them. "New Bern is on the coast, so a lot of people would go on small trips on boats, even if it was just out to the beach."
Anya: "Do you know how to drive a boat? Wait. Steer. That's the word I meant," she let go of his hand and went up some steps to her to the upper deck. Anya excitedly went around and placed her hands on the rail to look down at him, clearly enjoying herself.
Robin chuckled, shaking his head as he followed Anya further onto the boat. "No, I've never even tried," he admitted. His eyes followed Anya as she stepped up, his brow quirked.
Anya: "I wonder if it's harder to steer one of these than it is to drive a car." she mused and laughed at her question. Of course a car would be easier. Right? She wanted to do something cute, like lean all the way over and try to kiss Robin but the difference in height wouldn't achieve that at all. She'd topple over and on top of him and that would end their nice day in a not-so-fun way. Anya went around and down the steps and returned to his arms. "I was missing you up there," she admitted.
Robin chuckled, his eyes bouncing between the young woman who stood before him, and the direction of the wheel. "I would think so, not that I would try it, I'd honestly be too afraid to mess it all up," he admitted truthfully, a humorless laugh slipping from his lips just as Anya walked around and returned to him. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her slim frame, the smile on his lips never fading. "Thankfully it didn't take long for you to come back, huh?"
Anya: "Nope! Not at all. It's funny how we're here and we have so much to look at but I'd rather do this?" She kissed his chest and gave Robin the sweetest look, clearly happy to be in his arms. "I know we should do something. Like see more of the ship or maybe get something to eat but that requires moving and I'm suddenly glued to this very spot."
Robin: The second her lips met with the fabric stretched over his chest, Robin couldn't help but feel his heart flutter and swell. Funny how such a small sentiment could cause him to feel so flustered, so giddy even. "I don't mind standing a bit, as long as we're not blocking anyone else," he answered before glancing over his shoulders.
Anya: They might be blocking people. She didn't know and she should care. If they got into trouble then Miss Chloe would take the brunt of it. Anya's fingers gripped at the back of his shirt and said, in a sad tone, "We should move. I don't want to get us in trouble." she sighed dramatically and rested her forehead against his chest. "Lets see if there's somewhere we can hang out. Where we're out of the way."
Robin couldn't help but offer her a soft kiss on the top of her head before he carefully led her back down and further off the ship. "Why don't we go sit somewhere? There's a lot more to see."
Anya: "Where to sit?" She said to herself as Anya tugged at Robin to go with her. Usually Anya wouldn't be this way with someone but she felt so comfortable and happy with Robin that she did these little things such as pulling him with her, instead of being quiet and waiting for permission. "Oh! I see a bench over there! Do you see it?" She pointed at it. They still needed to get off the boat and walk a short ways before getting there. Hopefully it'll still be free by the time they did.
Robin: He didn't even have time to reply to her before he was dragged along to follow. He followed nonetheless, not even stopping to take a gander at the rest of the boat and those around them. "Yeah, I see it," he answered with a nod of his head. It was then his turn to tug. He pulled for her to follow as he carefully led them both off of the boat and back onto the dock. He aided Anya as they both stepped onto the wooden surface, even if the ramp made it easier for them to transfer over.
Anya: When they got to the ramp Anya was already loving how Robin was taking her to the bench and she honestly hoped that they could get there soon. Getting close to him, Anya placed both hands into his and they were moving towards land. Which was funny to think of because they were on an actual ship all this time! "Do you want to get something to eat while we're here? I thought about packing food but I didn't know what to expect from this place. Like if it would have been weird to bring our own food."
Robin: "I could always buy us something?" Robin suggested as he led them to the bench that still was unoccupied. "Besides, part of the experience is eating whatever the vendors have."
Anya: This made her smile, because Robin pointed out something that caused her to see him in this cute way. Cuter way because she saw him as that already but his way of seeing things got her smiley. She sometimes wondered what he thought about whenever he noticed she got this way around him: full of smiles and with that lovesick expression on her face. Not that she ever said that word to him. Maybe thought it a little but the last time she loved and told someone she did; he died and Anya couldn't get rid of that cursed feeling. No matter how stupid it was. "You're right! I don't know what they sell here but we'll look soon," The table was still clear and Anya nearly got on her knees, due to habit, but she knew Robin would feel uncomfortable with that. Anya still waited for him to sit first.
Robin squeezed Anya's hand as they threaded through the last of the thin crowd.  Truthfully, he hadn't even noticed the others that scattered around them, which was quite the feat, seeing how usually he felt on edge or even just acutely aware of those around them. He was one to never show PDA or even keep his head high for that matter. Things were different with Anya, and he was quite aware of that too. Also, he had no problem with that difference either. Once he sat down, he pulled her hand, wordlessly asking for her to do the same.
Anya, without thinking, sat in Robin's lap; instead of the spot next to him. Her arm wrapped around his shoulder and she cozied up next to him. When she looked around she watched people go about their day  not even looking at them for more than a couple seconds. "Which of those stands do you want to try? There's mostly popcorn and sodas. I think I see what looks like hot-dogs? Maybe pizza slices." Hmm. There might be more than she realized.
Robin hadn't expected for Anya to sit on his lap, but he didn't protest her doing it either. In fact, he wrapped his arms around her waist to hold her in place. Again, he ignored those around them, just as much as they ignored the snuggled up pair. It was nice, to put it simply.  Far different from being cooped up in her dorm room, not that Robin ever minded spending time in the dorm with her. They just never really had the chance to spend time together in public. "Yeah, I think pizza's usually a safe bet," Robin answered with a shrug of his shoulders.
Anya liked how comfy she felt with Robin. He didn't ever say or do anything to cause her to think she was acting immature or silly. Sure some people might be weird about PDA but she always believed that if she found someone special, and they felt the same; that they would be okay with her showing them how much she likes them. Of course she'd follow whatever rules or commands they set in place but Robin wasn't like that. And she could see just by how relaxed he was with her that he was fine with this. Her fingers trailed along the back of his shoulder blade, happily looking at him. "We should get that then," her light nails moved upwards before going down again. "Have I told you how handsome you look today?"
Robin: Even though Anya agreed to the food they would eat, Robin didn't move. He was quite comfortable with how they were, besides, if they were all that hungry, obviously they would have gotten up. At the moment, however, Robin was fine with just sitting with Anya for the moment. "You think so..?" He asked softly, a shy smile on his lips as he eyed the other. "I think you look beautiful.."
Anya: The most adorable smile crossed her lips and Anya starred down at her lap while her cheeks burned pink. They'd been sweet on each other for awhile now but that didn't stop her from getting this way whenever he called her beautiful. "Thank you," she said, the blue in her eyes popped when she looked at him again; due to the blush. "I think you can tell me I'm beautiful everyday for the rest of my life and I'll probably blush each time."
Robin: "I'll make a note of that," he mused, his eyes meeting with hers. The sentiment was a small one, but he still felt as though it held weight to it. Most couples so early on in their relationships didn't talk about what they were going to do for the rest of their lives, together or apart. At least, not with the two others Robin was with before Anya.
Anya's hands played with the hem of his shirt, wondering what was on Robin's mind, but that was abruptly taken from her when she heard someone approach the table asking if they were going to eat or just sit there all day. Anya was on the ready with an apology because it was a Dominant who asked. A Dominant who looked at their wrists in search of their markings. Hers was out and visible due to the summer dress she wore today.
Robin: It was quite shocking for Robin to have been so distracted that he hadn't noticed that someone had approached him, and a Dominant at that. Robin's eyes fell to the stranger's marking; the D that flashed on their skin was enough to cause Robin's jaw to clench and for him to breathe deeply. He had to control himself though, he couldn't let his own feelings cause for them both to get into any trouble. "We were planning to eat, actually, I was about to get up," he began. Robin's voice, one that usually was soft and meek, was suddenly with a new tone. While it was not authoritative, it did have some control to it, and the deep baritone added to it as well. "But if you need this table, we can leave."
Anya: The Dominant still was trying to get a read on Robin and Anya readied for them to be told they needed to move but then it looked like the Dom was about to leave; instead a small child ran up to him and a very pregnant submissive appeared from off the path. "We can always find another spot," she whispered to Robin, taking his hand with both of her and gripping it tight.
Robin probably would have stood his ground, however once the submissive walked up and the child, he carefully began to move, not wanting to push Anya off his lap. He didn't make any eye contact with the Dominant, but he did offer a polite smile to the pregnant Submissive who stood by his side, and nodded his head politely to the young child.
Anya: She didn't want to lose her spot on his lap but Anya knew she had to move and after some seconds ticked by she did. Anya went away from the table and looked at the different food places they could go to. "Should we get our pizza now? Then we can look for another place. Maybe one where people can't bother us."
Robin: Once they got up, he took Anya's hand. He needed to calm down, he needed to. He always got worked up when Dominants demanded things, as though a mark made them more superior, but he didn't need to bring that up with Anya, not now. "Yeah, that's fine," he answered, his tone still stern as he mentally talked himself down.
Anya noticed the change and she went along with him. Was he upset with her? Was she not supposed to move and give them the spot? She looked at him as he brought her further away from the table. "Are you mad at me?" Her voice sounded so little and worried.
Robin was pulled out of his thoughts when Anya spoke, his brows perched as he made sense of what had been asked. "No,no, I'm not mad at you," he cleared up, his hand moving to the small of her back, as though that would add more comfort. "I just don't like... elitism is all.." It was the easiest way to explain his distaste towards most Dom/mes. He really didn't want to dwell on the subject, not now at least. He wanted to enjoy his day with Anya and not dampen the mood any further, so he mustered a smile and changed the subject. "But, this gives us a chance to get pizza, right?"
Anya didn't really understand why he didn't like it. Yeah sometimes she didn't get why things  needed to be a certain way but she put trust in her dad and some of the Dominants in her life to know what she needed better than she did. Anya chewed on her bottom lip and nodded, trying not to show what was on her mind through her facial expressions. "It does. Should we get in line so we're all  taken care of and not needing to get up for a little while?"
Robin: "Yeah-- yeah, that sounds good to me." Getting in line would be the best option, besides, they wouldn't end up in anyone's way, so there was that. "What kind do you want?"
Anya: "Hmmmmmm," Gosh. The options seemed endless but she was pretty sure they had the usual ones. "Pepperoni? I like it when it gets that bit of burnt around the edges. There's something about the crunch that makes it taste so, so good!" Okay, now she was getting excited over food.
Robin: The excitement that jumped off from Anya was almost enough to turn Robin's mood around, if only for the remainder of their date. She always seemed to get giddy over the smallest of things, one of them being the pizza she was going to eat. "Pepperoni it is," he replied back with a curt nod of his head, stepping forward as the line began to shorten.
Anya: Her hand found his and she pressed against his body. Anya always found a sense of comfort with their proximity and she thought to lean her cheek against his arm while they waited but maybe that would be too much? "I hope you like this place. I wanted to go somewhere different."
Robin: Warmth tickled at Robin's cheeks as Anya pressed against him. He always felt as though people were watching them, even though the chance of that was quite slim. He didn't let his anxiety show, he just nodded his head, letting a smile curl on his lips. "Yeah, I really do. I wouldn't have even thought of coming here."
Anya: "This makes me happy. I didn't want to pick something lame but I also didn't want to pick something crazy. This isn't anywhere near crazy. Not unless you steal one of those ships and then we can live like pirates. Except starve because we won't have food." She laughed at her silly story. "Do you think you have it in you to live a life like that?"
Robin: "Like a pirate?" Robin scoffed, stepping forward. They were next after the other couple that stood before them, so he began to pat his pocket for his wallet before fishing it out. "I really doubt that I can. I'm not that cool. What about you?" He then turned, his brow quirked, and a smile on his face. "Do you think you can live a life like that?"
Anya: "What do you mean you're not that cool? You're hot. So there's that and when you get scruffy and let your hair be messy it fits the look. All you need is the outfit and a ship. And the know how to captain said ship because I only see you as one. Captain Robin," she realized she rambled and  around them probably thought she was acting a child. "I can pretend I can. Actually doing it?" Anya shook her head  and looked at the menu once again.
Robin: A bright blush radiated on Robin's cheeks. He wasn't used to people complimenting his looks all that often, even less so, when the compliments were so blunt! He tried to keep his composure however: clearing his throat and keeping a polite smile on his face, though it did widen without his provocation. "Guess we have a Halloween costume," he decided to answer with before they stepped forward in line. The poor employee looked utterly uninterested and bored with her job. She probably was half asleep. Robin ordered their meal, however, doing his best to keep a positive vibe in hopes to brighten her mood-- if only a little.
Anya: Halloween! It was many, many, many months away but Anya looked forward to it all the same. She loved to put together fun costumes, something she's done for years. She hadn't worn her gown or outfits since moving to Cavendish and she missed them a lot. After the food was ordered and paid for she wrapped her arms around him and said thank you. Anya knew not to linger too long because they needed to get out of the line. "I don't know what I would be yet. I have some princess costumes. Or I can be a pirate with you!"
Robin: It was automatic for Robin to return the sentiment, wrapping his arm around Anya's waist before moving to the side, their slices in both hands. "Why not the both of us?" He agreed, handing over the already greasy plate to Anya, his own held out for himself. He walked forward, weaving through the lessening crowd. "I think you'd look really cute.."
Anya: "We'd make a great duo. Or would we be more of a couple? Did they have pirates who were claimed or were together?" Her mind went everywhere and Anya tried to focus on the fact they needed to get back to their spot or someone would snatch it away.
Robin: "I think there were couples, probably," Robin answered. He nodded over to the empty field. "Want to sit over there?"
Anya: "Yeah! Let's go there and eat and maybe talk about more things pirates. Or Halloween plans. Or anything  really. I just like hearing your voice and ideas." Which was all true. There was something about Robin which made her so happy and he was super easy to spend time with. To the point she never worried about being herself. She hoped that this was something real between them. That being the same designation wouldn't keep them from dating. God...she hoped not. Also that's enough of these thoughts. She had a cute guy with her and they had the whole afternoon together. Which meant plenty of time to talk and kiss and be sweet together. What a perfect way to spend a day!
CHANCE MEETING PART 1 & 2
Hi guys! For the last month I have been editing my old fic's, and have posted them on wattpad. (The link to that is on my tumblr page) I've decided to put a few one shots together that have been edited. Here is the first one... hope you like it! ❤❤ P.s I'm not tagging because I don't know if anyone wants to be tagged in these because they are old fic's :) ** A/N: Finn is an up and coming actor (like nico. I also love his style so I went with that too). He bumps into a young women who isn’t swooned by him and he becomes in captivated by her. This is set in modern times around 2013. ** “Oh shit… I’m so sorry I still don’t know how to use my bloody feet even after 22 years” The young women huffed whilst she bent down picking up the condense of what had spilled out of her handbag. She had been to busy replying to emails as she walked through the streets of London, whilst doing so she failed to see the dense crack in the pavement causing her to trip and land into some strangers arms. She still hadn’t dared to look up to see who she had bumped into allowing her raven hair to cover her face. Notably she was embarrassed over the incident, but more then anything she just wanted to leave the scene of the crime. She noticed movement from the corner of her eye to see the stranger was now bent down next to her helping her collect her belongings. Turning her head she took a glimpse at the strangers face, her mouth dried up taking in the georgous features of the fit young man smiling back at her. “No really it’s fine” he replied; passing her some pens and a make-up brush. He was dressed in fitted grey skinny leg jeans, a oversized red and white knitted sweater that was rolled up to his elbows and black combat boots. His sweet face looked recognisable, but she didnt know how. She had only moved to London 3 weeks ago; plus she didn't socialise with anyone besides her two friends. She studied him for for a few seconds more before the light bulb in her head went off. “Are you that actor from that show… Ahh what is it…” She ran her her fingers through her soft hair removing it away from her face as she concentrated. They remained squatted in front of her handbag on a busy London street, but they both didn’t care. He let out a small laugh and his smile radiated towards her more, it was almost blinding. “If your thinking of the TV show ‘common’ then yes that’s me” he said shyly. “Your name is Finn right, Finn Nelson?” She questioned rising slowly to a standing position. They still had their eyes lock onto each other, the world around them was just a blur for now. They were both brought out of their gaze by an awkward clearing of a throat. Quickly they switched their attention to another young lad about their age pushing his glasses back. “Yup that’s me, and this is Archie… And you are?" Finn asked polietly extended his hand to shake hers. "Oh right, my name is Rae… Rae as in Rachel not Raymond before you get all cocky and ask” she joked and they all started to laugh. She shook his hand and waved to Archie who was standing slightly behind Finn. She was actually grateful she decided to look decent today, she quickly appraised her outfit as she straightened out her clothes slightly. She wore her sky blue skinny leg jeans with faux rips around the knees, her lemon blouse that hugged her curves especially her large breasts (who she caught him looking at a few times), white cardigan and white flats. She let her hair fall freely and had a light dusting of makeup. She usually never dressed like this usually, preferring to chose comfort over style. But today she was on the way to meet her best friend Chloe at a fancy cafe, so she didn’t think it was appropriate to turn up in her sweats and band T. “Nice to meet you Rae as in Rachel” he laughed at her cheekiness. “Well since my little sister is such a big fan of the show would it be ok if I got a photo with you, ya know to rub it in a little?” She asked biting the corner of her lower lip, causing him to gulp. “Yeah, yeah of course not a problem” he gestured his arms towards himself, whilst she fumbled around in her handbag looking for her phone. She clicked into her camera as he put his arm around her shoulders. They exchanged a small smile before the phone was raised to take a selfie together. “Thank you heaps, I better let you lads go… Nice to meet you both. And Finn sorry for the run in” she waved goodbye to both of them and hurried off in the opposite direction. Finn turned to watch her get lost in the crowd before turning his attention back to Archie. He wished he had of gotten the chance to say goodbye before she left, instead of giving her a dopey smile. “Well that was a first” Archie said slapping Finn on the back. Both continued to walk the familiar street back to the apartment they shared. “What do ya mean?” “Well that was the first lass not dropping her panties over you…” Archie joked. “Yeah. I guess so, it was nice I guess". "she was very curvy..” Archie gestured his hands like he was mimicking her silhouette. “And very beautiful” he finished. “Ya know Arch for a gay man you like a women’s body. And yes she was very beautiful… Very beautiful” blush rose on his cheeks when saw Archie smirking at him. “Come on mate we have to get ready for tonight.. Chop is dragging us out to the club tonight” Archie moaned picking up the pace so they could arrive home earlier. —— Rae finally arrived home around 5pm that day after being dragged shopping with Chloe after their lunch date at the cafe. She was exhausted. Crashing down on her settee, she decided to look through her phone and came across the photo of her and Finn. She smiled at decided to upload it to her twitter account, she started to follow him over a year ago not thinking much of it. @raeraeearl so I nearly fell flat on my face today, but I got a photo with this lad out of it though @realfinnnelson #totherescue Rae giggled as she uploaded the photo, placing her phone on the coffee table so she could make herself a strong tea in the kitchen. She came back to the settee and switched on the TV looking for something to watch before she had to get ready for the night out with the girls. She was not in the mood to party but she promised izzy and Chloe weeks ago that she would be there. Her phone buzzed and she looked at her notifications. @realfinnnelson is following you! @realfinnnelson retweeted you! @realfinnnelson @raeraeearl anytime girl! Nice meeting you. Another time maybe :’) #chancemeeting Rae’s face went bright red as she re-read her notifications over and over. Before she couldn’t reply she glanced up at her clock. “Shit I have to get ready” she murmured to herself before dashing off to the bathroom. —— “Chop what is this place?” Finn complained as they walked into the club. Finn was never one for big night clubs and would rather head to the local pub for a pint of two. The music was loud and the lights could cause an epileptic fit to anyone at anytime. “Oh Finny boy live a little look at all the lasses around here” he shouted trying to be heard over the music. Finn didn’t care about girls, they just threw themselves at him for his name and what he looks like… They never lasted more then one date, so he decided that being single was best. Well that was until he bumped into a certain lass... “Yeah whatever Chop lets just get a pint at the bar aye” he said in Chop's ear as they started walking through the masses of people dancing. After ordering a round of pints they grabbed a table near the dance floor and glanced around watching bodies jump around. Finn was busy looking at his pint when he felt Archie nudge him. “Isn’t that Rae” Archie yelled at Finn before cocking his head towards the dancefloor. Finn's head shot up and he started to look around until his eyes fell on a dancing raven haired beauty. Her arms were flowing freely in the air and her hair was floating down her back, her black mini dress and black stockings shone against the lights. Finn was mesmerised just watching her dance so freely. “Who’s Rae? And is that her in the black?” Chop asked, Finn nodded leaving Archie fill in the blanks. “A lass that bumped into us today, she was dead nice and I think Finny boy may have a crush. Heard him giggling to himself looking at his phone today after she upload a photo of them. Giggly git” Archie laughed and Finn swung his arm to connect with Archie to shut him up. “Well go talk to her ya dickhead look at those fucking assets” Chop pretending to jiggle fake books in front of his chest. “And plus that red head next to her is a little minx so I might chat to her” he continued before getting out of the seat and walking towards the girls. Finn quickly followed him, because knowing chop he would embarrass the shit out of him. “Hiya ladies. Care for some company?” Chop asked the girls. “Finn..” Rae gasped when she saw Finn walk up behind his friend; looking sexy as hell. “Hiya Rae” he lent over to her ear so she could hear him over the bass. “Wanna get a drink with me girl?” She smiled nodding and reached out for his hand which he offered her. She turned to Izzy and Chloe telling them she would see them later. Izzy giggled and waved her off turning her attention to Chop and Chloe stood there dumbfounded. —– Finn and Rae spent the next hour chatting away in a private booth far away from the dancefloor. They felt like they were in there own little world, they barley noticed the flock of girls that kept walking upto them, instead they chose to ignore all outsiders. Rae looked at her watch as it was nearing midnight and she could barely stay awake much longer. “I had fun with you tonight Finn, but I’m really needing to head home. I’m exhausted” she yawned. “Of course I’ll get you a taxi… Rae?” He asked nervously. “Yeah?” “Would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?” As soon as he ask the question her eyes lit up and a wide smile reached across her face. His nerves turned into butterfly’s as he reached out and grabbed her hand. It was something about this moment that had Finn lost in every expression that crossed her face. She was the only women he could see. “I’d love to” ** THE DATE: PART 2 Seven o'clock was nearing; the anticipation of the date was driving Rae crazy. It had been over two years since she last dated, mind you he was a curly haired git who only got a kick out of telling Rae she could do no better. She had dated Liam just over 4 months before kicking him to the curb, having finally had enough of his poor attempts to knock her down a brick or two. She had come a long way since her college days, the bullying, and the running away from her problems. Sure, she still had some insecurities from time to time about the way she looks, but so does any 22 year old women living in London. Before leaving the club Finn had passed her his phone asking if he could get her number promising to message her in the morning with a time and a place to meet. Rae had awoken that morning to a message that was sent just past 7am in the morning. Unknown: hiya Rae it’s Finn here. Just messaging you about our date tonight, how does 7pm sound? Message me when you wake up ;) x She had turned in bed to Squint at the alarm clock next to her to read that it was now going on 10am. She frantically started typing, feeling bad about having replied so late. Rae: sorry! Just woke up! 7pm sounds great. Where would you like to meet? :) x She sighed, hitting the send button she nuzzled more into her pillow. Not even caring that she let her phone drop off the side of the bed. Her eyes fluttering closed as the smile grew on her face; her thoughts went back to the night that she had just spent with him. Their amazing banter, his shy looks every time she smiled. Everything about last night seemed too good to be true, that if she pinched herself she would realise it was all a dream. In reality, this was all happening to her, the chubby, tall lass with a personality of a clown. Her phone pinged and her sleepy eyes opened at lightning speed, she grabbed her phone off yhe floor and clicked on the unopened message. Finn: Great! How about a quiet little bar on the outskirts of London? I’ll pick you up from your place if you send me your address. Can’t wait :) x She waited a few minutes before replying with her address and a wink face, not wanting to sound as eager as she was. There messages flowed back and forth throughout the day, keeping the conversation light. She learnt little bit about what he does during the day when he isn’t on set, which isn’t very often. She was rejoiced to learn that he would much rather spend his time in dainty little record shops then posh bars, music was his second love after his acting of course. Rae was now standing in front of her open wardrobe assessing her miserable excuse of clothing. 80 per cent was filled witg raggedy old band tee’s that she so desperately loved and could never- (no matter how much Chloe nagged her) part with. Rae looked through the small collection if dresses she had whilst clicking her tongue against the top of her mouth. She huffed when she realised that she had spent 10 minutes appraising her four dresses when she never planned on wearing any of them, she was just going to a pub after all. A quiet little pub that had probably never seen the likes of a pair of women’s legs in the years that it had been open, she needed a more casual look. She flipped through her jeans pulling out a pair of black skinny legged ones that she had brought whilst shopping with Chloe yesterday. Then she scurried towards her set of drawers pulling out the first presentable blouse she could find, a sheer navy sleeveless button up she forgot she had. She paired it with a white singlet and navy ballet flats. Her hair was straightened and clipped to one side, her makeup fresh with a hint of Smokey eye which she had picked up from a YouTube clip she saw weeks ago. It was now 7pm, she was applying the final touch of lip gloss and giving herself a once over in the mirror. She wasn’t dressed to the nines and loved her choice about keeping it more casual. As she was slipping on her shoes there was a knock at the door. Her nerves started to get the best of her, her hands were slightly shaking uncontrollably. She knew what was waiting for her on the other side of the door, a god like man with an incredible northern accent. She opens the door and brushes down the front of her blouse turning her eyes to Finn. The smile on his face could not be missed as he stood leaning against the door frame with his hands stuffed in his jean pockets. “Wow” they both breathed in unison, and laughing when they realised what they did. Finn was dressed in fitted dark blue jeans, a plain white tee paired with a light blue jean jacket. His shaggy brown locks styled into a quiff enhancing his incredible facial features, he could melt the polar ice caps with a single look if he tried. “Ready?” He grinned taking her in one more time. “Yup, just a minute” she said holding up a finger before she dashed over to her settee grabbing her leather jacket and clutch. She shrugged on her jacket as she walked back towards the door, glancing at herself in the mirror by the door as she headed out. As soon as the apartment was locked and they stepped out onto the landing Finn grabbed her hand into his, Rae’s mouth going instantly dry as she stared silently at this romantic gesture. He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze and headed down the steps towards the door, Rae’s eyes never leaving their conjoined hands. - The 30 minute drive to the local was filled with comfortable silence; small talk was made but both wanting to save most of it for when they arrived, plus they both quite enjoyed the sound of the stone roses lightly playing through the speakers. It was a quaint little pub just west of Kent, the building looked like it was barely keeping together with its rustic centuries old brick and timber framing. The front was dimly lit and she could faintly hear the sounds of the sign swinging as the wind picked up. Finn sat next to her nervously chewing at his thumb nail as he watched her eyes look over the pub. She turned to Finn with an enthusiastic expression that was contagious, and they were both instantly laughing. “Alright?” He questioned, still having doubts he made a mistake about bringing her here. Maybe she was classier to what she led on? “It’s perfect, I couldn’t have picked a better place” Rae hummed in pleasure whilst she unbuckled her seat belt. Finn made quick use of his and hurried around the passenger’s side of the car so he could open the door for her. She smiled and thanked him as once more her palm rested in his, neither of them willing to let go of the other. “Come on, the pints are cheap and the old men are cheaper” he joked nudging his arm with hers. She followed his through the open front door; the decor was no different to the outside. Old drum tables lined the walls with stools scattered around them, there were smaller square tables littering the middle section of the room in front of the oversized bar, the only thing relatively modern was the 90’s style juke box to the left of the room just before the toilets. Men no younger than 60 gathered around the room talking amongst each other, not even bothering to make any eye contact with her and Finn. She was completely mesmerised by the atmosphere from the moment she walked in, it was everything she hoped it would be and more. They were weaving their way through the pub making sure not to interrupt any of the other patrons. Rae noticed the bar was reasonably empty, there wasn’t even staff waiting to serve them. Finn reached over the bar and rang a small bell hidden away, he turned to her smiling once he noticed her face of confusion. A small round lady hobbled out from a door around the back, Rae could tell her mood was glum as she made her way towards them. The lady wiped her floury hands on her rose covered apron mumbling her profanities under her breath, but once she looked up her mood instantly changed as her eyes locked on to Finns. “Finnley my boy” she cooed, walking out from behind the bar extending her arms out towards Finn. “Mrs Dewhurst, how are you?” Finn asked pulling out of the hug and reconnecting his hand with Rae’s. “Better now my handsome boy has come to see me! You should have told me you were coming in earlier. I would have made sure I was in the front” she fussed before turning towards Rae. “Now who’s this beautiful young lass on your arm”. “This is Rae, Rae this is the sensational Barbra Dewhurst” Finn grinned turning towards Rae who was extending her arm out to the little old lady to shake her hand. “Oh none of that dear. Give us a hug” she said shuffling towards Rae and wrapping her arms around her shoulders. At first Rae tensed up, she had never been a fan of strangers hugging her but something about this lady made Rae melt. “Now off you youngsters go and have fun, I’ve got a barman to hunt down” she said shewing them away with her hands but laughing at the same time. “DAAAAAVVVVVIIIIDDDDDDD” she called as she waddled around to the other side of the bar. "Where are we going?” Rae asked turning towards Finn. “You’ll see” Finn pulled her towards the back entrance which was situated next to the toilets. Before pushing through the door Finn paused letting go of Rae’s hand. The sudden loss of contact made Rae instantly mourn for his touch, but he had other ideas in mind. He stood behind her placing his nimble fingers over her eyes blocking her vision; Rae quickly moved her arms out in front of her as they shuffled forward slowly. Her hands were now flat against the door; she felt a tingle run down the back of her neck as Finn learned in to whisper in her ear. “Now just push” he whispered brushed his bottom lip against her ear as was pulling away. Rae nodded and proceeded to push the door until she felt a mild breeze whisk against her face. She kept moving as Finn did, until she noticed he paused. Finn slowly removed his hands from her face, and Rae’s eyes fluttered open. She took a sudden intake of breath as soon as her vision cleared. They were surrounded by a least a thousand fairy lights dangling from the trees and fence. A large checkered blanket laid in the centre with a pinic basket placed in the middle. Her eyes kept dancing around the scene before her, noticing the rose petals scattered over the grass. She turned to Finn, tears of joy stinging her eyes and before she knew what she was doing she was throwing her arms around his neck nuzzling her head into the crook. Finns arms instantly wrapped around her waist holding her tightly. “Is this ok?” He mumbled into her shoulder and pulling away but keeping his arms around her waist. “Are you kidding me?” Rae scoffed jokingly. “Nobody and I repeat, nobody has ever done anything like this for me before” she emphasised grinning profusely. “Come on let’s sit” he gestured towards the blanket. They moved towards the blanket, sitting down as close as they could together without touching. Finn opened the basket and turned to Rae and spoke. “Now something tells me that you aren’t a wine and cheese sort of girl” Finn pulled two cans of fosters out of the basket passing one over to Rae. “Defiantly not” she chuckled grabbing the can off Finn with thanks. She tapped the top of the can a few times and cracked it away from her clothes in case of any spillage. “I do prefer a good beer before my lips touch any sort of crap wine” they both laughed clinking the tin together. “So how do you know Mrs Dewhurst?” Rae asked quizativley raising an eye brow. Finn took a lengthy swig of his beer before replying. “Long story short, that women raised me. I grew up in this very garden. You see when I was 4 my mother left me dad and I” “Aw Finn I’m so sorry” Rae said laying a hand flat on his thigh. “It’s ok, I’m ok. But once she left us we were left with less of an income and my dad had to work a lot more hours to keep a roof over our heads. Mrs Dewhurst lived down the street and kindly volunteered to look after me whilst my dad worked. So for 9 years I was at this very bar 6 days a week helping out or colouring in, or even putting on a talent show for the oldies until I was old enough to fend for myself. Archie use to live only two streets away, he would pop over and join the festivities we had here. She’s a really special woman. She will always have a place in my heart, she even calls me her superstar when people ask if she knows me” he chuckled shaking his head. Over the next few hours were spent deep in conversation sipping on their cans and eating crisps straight from the packet, nothing about this date was fancy but he made it special. They talked about their pasts, Rae opened up about Liam and school. The conversation moved onto lighter subjects revolving around family, friends and Finn acting career. Rae was completely and utterly engrossed by Finns voice, the lingering touches, the solid eye contact that he kept. Nothing was unspoken. “I’ve had a really great time” Rae spoke looking up at his face through her eyelashes. “I’m glad you asked me out on this date”. “I’m glad you chose to come with me” he smiled brushing his fingertips along her cheek cause Rae to be completely lost in this moment. “You intrigue me Rae”  he said shyly, he kept his hand lingering in the same spot on her cheek a moment longer then necessary before removing it. “Why?” “Because your you. You’re honest and open, and you don’t care that im an actor. You’re just generally interested in my personality”. Rae looked down briefly smiling to herself, this was the nicest that any male has ever been towards her. She was chuffed really; it made her insides turn to goo. “Well you are pretty amazing” Rae laughed lightly regaining her eye contact with him. He seemed to be closer than what he was just moments ago, their bodies were now directly facing each other only a mere few inches between them. Finn brushed a lock of her hair out of her face that had fallen, and tucked in behind her ear causing her to blush profusely. “Your beautiful Rae” He inched even more closely, extending his head so far forward that he had to use a hand on the ground to keep him balanced. “Can I- Can I kiss you?” the words stumbled from his mouth and now it was his turn to blush bright red. Rae took a small gasp of air and nodded her head twice. Finn captured her lips with his, the kiss sweet and playful but at the same time the passion ran strong between them. It felt like they had been doing this for years, the unison of their movements, the longing for more, it all came naturally to them. His tongue swept across her bottom lip begging for entry which she reciprocated almost instantly as she opened her mouth allowing him in. Their tongues danced together in a singular movement, their heads tilting opposite ways as they changed positions. Finns hand reached out to cup her cheek as Rae pulled his body closer by his tee; it was a supercharged moment igniting a fire between them. They slowly pulled apart but kept foreheads resting together as they attempted to catch their breaths. “Wow” They both breathed and laughed almost instantly over another mimicked expression. “I don’t want this night to end” Rae sighed pulled away slightly to sit up more straighter, but kept the closeness. “It doesn’t have to end if you don’t want it too, ive got all night to spend with you if you’ll have me” Rae nodded and once again took his lips to be against hers. Little did they know in that very moment this would be the first of many moments spend together, being complete aroused by one and other, shutting themselves off from the world just so they could have a moment.        3 years later... "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride..." ** IF YOU WANT TO BE TAGGED IN OTHER EDITED OLD FIC'S THEN PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TELL ME :) @mmfdfanfic
The Seeds of Chloe’s Redemption
There has been a lot of hate (mostly deserved) heaped on Chloe Bourgeois by the ML fandom, as well as theories of a redemption arc that she may go through to become the Bee Miraculous holder.  Chloe is one of my favorite characters.  Most people see the nasty personality she shows to the majority of Paris and immediately hate her.  Her peers, the fans, even the main characters usually treat her with disdain.  Again, mostly deserved.
However, there is a lot more beneath the surface of Chloe’s world that we don’t see.  How much do we know about her home life?  We’ve seen how miserable Adrien is.  Chloe also doesn’t seem to have her mother, Adrien and Sabrina are her only friends and even though her father dotes on her, does she really have a healthy father/daughter relationship with him?
I’ve mentioned before (in this post) that I believe Adrien is friends with Chloe because he saw glimpses of humanity in her and wanted to help her become a better person.  Things like...
In “Darkblade” (Le Chevalier Noir):
Chloe is being her usual nasty self and an akuma attacks
Sabrina grabs Chloe for protection
Chloe puts her arm protectively around Sabrina
Is this the first glimpse we get of our budding bee?
Tumblr media
In “Antibug”:
Instead of accepting Mylene as a scapegoat, she’s honest and blames an “invisible force” for pulling her hair
She risked the ridicule of the class to do this
I dunno it was like a unicorn or leprechaun or some shit
wtf, Chloe?!
Not a ghost.  Or the wind.  A LEPRECHAUN.
Tumblr media
See where I’m going with this below the cut...
Mari and Adrien figure something is up and go to protect Chloe
Chat is tickled to tears with Chloe’s adoration of his lady (hint: he knows what it’s like on both ends)
Ladybug, not so much
Tumblr media
And it’s not just when they first show up.  Chloe fangirls the crap out of LB.
Tumblr media
This is the look of someone who has met their hero
Someone they want to be just like
Or maybe she has a crush on her, wtfk
Tumblr media
Eventually, we find out that not only does Chloe cosplay as LB (which we first saw in Lady Wifi), but Sabrina tags along as CN.
Shout out to how awesome Chloe’s butler is for playing along
Tumblr media
These two are genuinely having a good time
It aaaaaalllllll goes to shit soon after
Which Chloe actually takes a moment to think about
Tumblr media
It turns out Sabrina is the *snerk* Leprechaun
Awkward Hawkmoth is awkward
*giggle* *snort*  BWAHAHAHAHAAHOMGWTF?!?!?!
Tumblr media
*hehe*  Anyway...
Chloe tries to help by telling LB where the akuma is.
Ladybug does not react appropriately.
*violently spins Chloe into an elevator and closes the door. Really LB?*
Tumblr media
Turns out Chloe was right
Chat chastises LB for not listening to Chloe.  Way to stand up for your friend, Adrien :)
Tumblr media
Chloe is crushed that Ladybug, her idol and one of the few people she respects, HATES HER
Even though she did her best to be a good person
Seriously, this is the only time I’ve seen her genuinely upset
Tumblr media
This, of course, turns her into an akuma
Akumatized Chloe is the only one outside of Ladybug to EVER point out that Ladybug is nothing without Chat Noir.
Even if she was doing it to mock LB, this hits home
The public always praises Ladybug when they’re together, but the only time Chat Noir has gotten recognition is when he’s been by himself.
....*ahem* ANYway
They defeat the akuma and Ladybug apologizes to Chloe
Then, instead of telling her off like she normally does, she gives her friendly advice
Chloe looks genuinely sorry (though she’d never admit it)
Tumblr media
She respects Ladybug so much that she takes the advice
And buys Sabrina a brand new friendship brooch
She’s gotta maintain her bitch rep, so she plays it off
But she gives an actual smile when she sees how happy Sabrina is
Tumblr media
Mari: “Did you see that?  Chloe smiled nicely...kind of.”
Wait, Chloe’s...human?
Adrien totally knew that, you guys =^..^=
They are SO PROUD of her!  ಥ◡ಥ
Tumblr media
In “A Christmas Special” (Pire Noël):
This.  Right here.  Sums up this entire post.
Yes, she’s probably in love with her childhood friend.
BUT, she’s happy to see him happy.
Even if it’s someone else making him happy
That’s true friendship, right there :)
Tumblr media
From what I’ve seen, it looks like Chloe has so many walls up to protect her low self-esteem that she comes off as abrasive and self-absorbed when in reality she just wants to be loved.  If she tones down her octopus impersonation with Adrien and makes an effort to be nicer (especially to Marinette), I can totally see her becoming a great hero.  A little self-absorbed, but great :)
the sparkling lights of the night
@badluckpersonified and I have had this thread on two different platforms since April. It’s our oldest thread, and we finally decided to put it on our blogs. The full length is under the cut.
I’ll be reblogging shortly with my most recent response.
Bridgette had always known an arranged marriage was in her future. However, she hadn't had the ability to see into the future and see exactly when she would be getting married. Six months after having her heart broken by the love of her life. Seventeen, and already destined to marry. Of course, she shouldn't be so surprised she was being given away at her age. Things just felt... unfulfilled. Thankfully, Felix was only a few years older than her, rather than the dreadful ten or more years she'd heard of. No matter what though, she'd have Tikki. In the end, so long as she could be Ladybug everything would turn out okay. Today was her first day meeting Felix though. Unfortunately, her father couldn't be here with her. She was escorted inside by a burly man who reminded her of the gorillas she'd seen in story books. She'd been informed that Gabriel Agreste, the head of house, was out on business and wouldn't be returning for a few days. Which was fine, Bridgette would need some getting used to this before she met the owner of the grand Agreste estate. Her baggage had arrived before her, so all she had on her were the clothes on her back, a small handbag, and Tikki tucked inside the hidden pocket she'd sewn into her skirts.
Inside the Agreste manor was just as grand as the outside. It was a bit breathtaking. To think that one day she'd be the lady of this house. As she scanned the room her eyes landed on the tall blond who she assumed was Felix. She straightened her posture more than the corset did for her, and smiled sweetly. She bowed her head slightly before looking up at him. He was so much taller than her. Bridgette took a few steps forward, just out of the entry. She didn't want to impose herself. There was an image to keep up, after all. "Hello."
It was only through the years of dealing with social gatherings that allowed Felix to have the ability to not to let the scowl he wanted so badly to express on his face. She was everything he expected her to be, polite, posh and pretty. His father's seemingly perfect match for the Agreste heir. Had Felix had his way there would be no wedding at all. He didn't need someone he didn't know or love having a say in his life, his father run the estate just fine by himself anyhow. However when the thought passed his head he remembered the warmth the household once held and forcefully suppressed images of a mother's kind smiles and hair the color of sunlight. There was no way he'd find that connection to anyone and he'd never be foolish enough to believe this girl could compare.
But never let it be said that the Agreste men were anything besides gentlemen. As Felix stepped forward to meet his bride to be, he stiffened momentarily as he felt Plagg get restless in the pocket of his coat. The troublesome little thing probably wanted to catch a glimpse of the girl that was his betrothed. With a little more force than necessary, Felix moved his arm to his front in a motion to bow and effectively clamped his closed fist over the kwami to cease it's wiggling. He gave a small dip in return, the ingrained manners driving his motions. "Hello. Your belongings are in the room adjacent to mine seeing as how we won't be expected to share a room until the day of marriage. Your presence will be only be formally needed when we dine and if you wish to leave the estate, someone will escort you. While at the moment I have no work, I ask that you leave me in peace when I do." Perhaps he was being too curt with the 'rules' but this was his effort to make the arrangement work.
Resisting the urge to sigh, Felix waved off the bodyguard so he wouldn't follow directly behind them and offered Bridgette his arm, "But, as I said. I have no work today. So I will show you around the estate and we can get... acquainted." Thankfully, nothing besides the small hesitation showed his displeasure at the concept.
Bridgette wasn't sure what she'd been expecting, but this cold, borderline rude attitude had not been it. Somehow she forced her way past the first impression. Chloe hadn't been much better, and she'd turned out to be incredible. Chloe... If Chloe was here she'd make everything better. Bridgette already missed her like mad. Perhaps one day things would work out between them. Bridgette's mind wandered a bit to the idea of running away with her love. That was as improbable as ever seeing Chloe again. She smiled at Felix and took his arm, feeling Tikki get comfortable against her leg.
"Thank you. I'd love to see the estate. It's beautiful already, and this is just the entryway." Bridgette tried not to cringe. She could recall the scolding of her etiquette teacher. She was being too open, not quiet enough, not womanly enough. It was hard to fight her nature though, and frankly she didn't want to.
It was hard not to wonder why Gabriel chose her. Was her Asian background a bit of a novelty? An inelegant, well-bread, and exotic wife? Wow. Felix must feel so special. Mentally, she rolled her eyes.
Felix was direct and to the point. Bridgette took it all in with wide, eager eyes. She asked a few questions, but tried to keep her intelligent questions out of it. That wasn't lady like. However, that flew right out the window when she saw the gardens. Her eyes lit up and she pulled her arm away slightly before catching herself and remaining at his side. "This is... This is incredible!" Bridgette was unable to stop her wide grin as she looked around. "I haven't seen that type of flowers since I lived at home. I didn't even know they could grow this far north! Oh, those plants attract all sorts of lovely butterflies. Spring will be coming soon and-" She cut herself off and glanced over at Felix before blushing darkly and bowing her head slightly. "S-sorry. I tend to get carried away. It's not exactly proper." She cleared her throat, the first outward sign that she was just as hesitant about all of this as he was.
Felix wasn't sure how to respond in all honesty. That was the first sign of true liveliness he's seen in her since he began the tour. Sure there had been her inquires as they progressed, but those seemed simple minded at best. And seeing her flaunt over his late mother's beloved garden caused an onslaught of emotions within him. He looked past her at the greenery, eyes flashing through an array of feelings, anger, despair, heartache and then fondness. The garden wasn't in it's most beautiful state. Some plants were overgrown and a few weeds littered the area. The blame for that was strictly on himself, as he trusted no one to touch this area without his supervision and he has hardly had time to breathe let alone keep a watchful eye on gardeners. The fact was, this girl seemed to treasure the beauty even with it's flaws just as he did and he was immeasurably grateful for that.
Maybe their time together wouldn't be as dreadful as he had assumed.
"Perhaps not. But, this... was my mother's garden. She used to say it was our own personal Eden away from society, and upon entering you leave all worldly troubles behind. Proper manners and all." Whenever it was the three of them his mother forced her husband to forget about deadlines and work. That the garden was their time together and nothing should encroach on that. Every time it worked, at least until her passing. Now his father never visited this place and Felix couldn't blame him.
He lowered his arm to let her know it was alright for her to explore and he wouldn't criticize her for any exuberant behavior. He wouldn't dare take away the safety that the area was meant to provide.This time, he fully dismissed the bodyguard so he could leave the two of them alone and away from prying eyes.
As she enthusiastically went to the plants, he wandered the area nearby and he could feel himself soften both visibly and mentally. Just this once, allowed himself let go for a moment. He knelt down and pulled at a weed, feeling an almost vicious satisfaction as the plant was uprooted. "So you know about flowers? While I'm quite familiar with the species in here, I'm sad to say these don't particularly attract many ladybugs as we do butterflies. Would you know of a kind that does? I'm quite fond of those insects, and while I don't believe in superstition it may do good to attract a creature of luck." He couldn't stop his lips from quirking upwards, a small degree of his Chat Noir persona bleeding through. It was now clear they were going to stay in the garden for sometime.
She listened to him talk, hanging onto every word. If he would let her, she'd be in the garden near constantly. Like Tikki, she loved nature, and it was hard to find in abundance in the city. Bridgette started to explore, glancing over at Felix to see him start plucking weeds. She smiled some. Maybe he wasn't as cold as she thought. All this information she filed away for later. She was going to learn to love him for her own sanity. Hanging onto Chloe was a lost cause, and being heartbroken was exhausting.
Bridgette was inspecting some beautiful roses when Felix's words got her mind whirling. "Of course I do! Caraway, fennel, and dill work fairly well. As for flowering plants, cosmos and daisies work. They are drawn to the white cosmos especially. I can see why, they're beautiful. We had manicured gardens at my boarding school, nothing so wild and wonderful like this, but our own little haven. Every time it was pleasant I took my studies outside. It's just so much more enjoyable." With the free reign to talk she was rambling, waiting to be told to hush.
After noticing weeds intertwining with some flowering plant she didn't know, she bent and started to pluck them as well, not minding the dirt on her skirts. "You'll need ladybugs." She noted. "There's aphids all over these plants." Tikki stirred, and Bridgette tried not to cringe. Now Tikki wouldn't rest until she got a snag of those.
"Infestation? I'll put in the order immediately then." He didn't look up at her, instead continuing his task of pulling the wretched plants from the garden. The dew from the ground seeped through his pants to his knees but he payed no heed. He'd just need a change of clothes and it was easy enough to evade the others in the house, there were so very few occupants that roamed the halls. The garden began looking a bit better for every weed pulled and plant returned to it's place. The process itself was relaxing in Felix's opinion. If he had time he would see himself doing this again. But the next instance may not be anytime soon. He supposed he would have to enjoy the little time he could in this little paradise.
It was quiet as they worked and the only time the silence broke was when Bridgette would go on about plants and whatever else popped into her head, him only giving a nod or hum to show he was listening. It was still irritating against the solitude he was used to but the one sided conversation was much more refreshing than their earlier interaction. Not to mention Plagg wiggling in his pocket that contributed to his annoyance, but a quick swat to the kwami stopped the movements. When Felix finally looked over at her, he took note of her soiled dress and scowled some. No doubt it would track inside. "Next time, I insist you-"
Unfortunately he was cut off. Plagg must have done something to influence his luck as a revenge because he found his foot getting caught on a root sending him on the ground. Felix hissed and pushed himself up on his palms, his ego bruised and embarrassment washing over him. Of all the things to happen. Even if he didn't like his bride to be he didn't want to come off as a complete imbecile. The only thing that remotely comforted him was that Plagg got squashed when he fell forward. In an effort to save face, he continued on as if he hadn't tripped, "that you wear appropriate attire when attending the garden. At the very least a change of shoes. Those will track dirt as well as rip up the ground."
By the time he spoke, she'd already stopped her weeding,  now investigating some bizarre flowering bushes that were attracting peculiar butterflies. They were beautiful but she'd never seen the type before. She gently moved her hand to attempt to get the butterfly on her finger but then Tikki bit her. She somehow held a yelp in, reaching down and pinching the kwami through her dress. Felix's words made her jump, pulling her thoughts away from the bruise that she would surely have now. She turned back towards him just in time to see him fall. Her eyes widened slightly and she was about to ask if he was alright, but when she noticed the look of embarrassment on his face she restrained. No need to make it any worse.
Bridgette's lips quirked downwards and she narrowed her eyes, glancing down at his own filthy trousers and muddy shoes. Who was he to talk? She looked down at her own skirts and shoes. There was a bit of dirt along the bottom but nothing that would get anywhere. So long as she wiped her shoes off things would be fine, and no mud would get anywhere. Bridgette raised a brow and looked back over at him. "My dress will be fine for today. So long as I wipe my feet, no mud will track inside. If I remember correctly there's some stones and a bit of moss before the garden entrance. I would be more worried about yourself, Mister Agreste." She realized a moment too late how snappy and improper that had sounded. She cleared her throat and looked away, straightening her posture. Now she was hyper-aware of everything she said and did. The last thing she needed was Felix going to her father and telling him how improper she was. "Should we go inside now? There's a lot of the house I haven't been shown yet, and I should probably change before dinner. Will your father be joining us?" Her personality she'd shown through her rambling and snapping was gone now; replaced by the etiquette that had been forced into her mind since she was old enough to walk.
'Do this, don't do that. Speak like this, keep your back straight. Never let him know you've got anything in that bright brain of your's, Bridgette. Don't you know that men are only interested in lifeless women with nothing to them but the ability to shut up and look pretty?!' Chloe had always said that in the voice of their etiquette teacher, scolding her and pinching her sides before they'd both dissolve into giggles. Unable to help herself, she sighed softly. Chloe had made her presence permanent it seemed; demanding to be heard even when she wasn't around.
He could only blink at her as he was completely baffled by her rapid and very sudden change in personality, but as soon as he got his wits about him, he scowled darkly. She had the gall to get angry at him then revert back into a walking china doll. He wasn't too sure if he was mad at being snapped at or her submissive demeanor. Either way, his mood was soured and he brushed himself off after standing. Straightening his jacket and holding his head high, he regarded her coldly. "Very well. I'll take you to the room so you can get changed. And no. My father won't be joining us for dinner." The fact she reminded him about his father just agitated him further. The man couldn't even bother to set aside work to meet the girl he intended to marry to his son. He briskly walked towards the garden's entrance, not bothering to turn and see if Bridgette was following. "You aren't allowed back here without my permission or my presence. Now if you will."
He kept his gaze forward as he offered his arm once again. When they were linked, they wiped off their shoes to the best of their abilities and Felix escorted her back inside. But instead of the simple questions said at the beginning of the tour or the honest rambling in the garden, the trek was encompassed by tense silence. Even Plagg went still as they went to her room, but that more than likely meant the kwami was planning a way to cause more mischief. Thankfully they met no one on their way there and when they reached Bridgette's room, Felix pulled away from her. "This room is yours. Mine is next to it. Your belongings are already here so go change and I'll do the same. When you're done I'll show the rest of the house and by then dinner will be served." With that said, Felix entered his own room and shut the door behind him. He pulled off his jacket and Plagg flew out, a cheeky grin on his face, "Aw you were warming up to her. How sickeningly adorable, thankfully you both ruined it." The cold look Felix sent him only added to his amusement. The black cat could tell this was going to be quite the adventure for his chosen.
If the past hour was any indication, she and Felix would not be getting along well. It would always be a balancing act for her. Bridgette didn't have the privilege of acting too much like herself. She didn't know Felix yet, and if he decided, he could decide that he didn't want her. Not only would she have to leave London behind, but her father would likely react in the worst way possible. Perhaps he'd even have her locked up on the pretense of her being crazy. There's also the possibility she'd have to give up life as Ladybug. A lot was riding on this marriage to Felix Agreste, and she couldn't afford to mess it up. So she kept her mouth shut, just nodding and agreeing to whatever he said. Maybe he'd hate this side of her as well. It was frustrating, not knowing. Everything felt fake to her, and she honestly just felt like crying. She didn't have Chloe, her father wanted nothing to do with her except to use her to give the family business to the Agreste line, and Felix seemed to hate her. At least, she had Tikki.
The only good thing was the fact that her room overlooked the garden. She thanked him for the tour then shut the door, exploring the grand room. There was everything she could need; a few wardrobes, a closet, two bookshelves, a desk, a large canopy bed, a bathroom, a chest at the food of the bed, a small table... Everything. Her things were neatly stacked in one corner, waiting to be unpacked. The only thing she didn't like was how dark the room felt. She threw open the curtains and opened up the windows and the doors to the balcony. The furnature was a dark wood, and the walls had a deep purple wallpaper. Carefully, she pulled Tikki from her pocket, offering the kwami a sad smile.
"This is home now." She murmured. She set Tikki down on the bed while she went to her things, finding her dresses. She took her overdress off with some difficulty and replaced it with a blue one. She changed her shoes as well, and went to the bathroom to refresh her hair. Bridgette hated wearing makeup, so she didn't bother reapplying. Felix probably wouldn't even notice.
Tikki floated on over to her. "Things are going to work out just fine, Bridgette." Bridgette gave the kwami a smile, praying she was right.
Turns out, things weren't going to work out today. Dinner was terrible. It was silent and every time she attempted to start conversation Felix shut her down. Eventually she stopped trying, picking at her food and just eating enough to be healthy. Didn't he realize that this was hard for her too? That she'd been plucked from a life she was happy in and thrown into this? Or was he too wrapped up in his own world to care?
The only good thing about the day was patrol as Ladybug. Sneaking away hadn't been hard, and it had been easy to find Chat Noir. They met on the London clock tower, just as every other night. He had arrived before her, and as she landed, she took a moment to watch him. His stance was almost feral; hair wild and unkempt. He looked ready to pounce, his stance full of that peculiar grace cats seemed to have. She smiled some. Despite his flirting, he was a dear friend. She'd always cared for him. Somehow he'd find a way to cheer her up, he always did. Even if he himself was upset. Going by how tense his posture was, he probably was. Ladybug moved from her perch, gracefully landing just behind him. She came to stand beside him, overlooking the city in silence.
Felix was too wrapped up in his own thoughts to notice that Ladybug had arrived. These nights of being Chat Noir were his escape. From work, from his less than perfect life, from everything. But his problems followed him this time. Once he says I do, despite what he wants or hopes for, it will limit Chat Noir. No more flirting and worse he'll never have a chance to pursue Ladybug as much as he'd like to, he couldn't commit adultery. Just how was he supposed to tell his Lady that he was engaged? To a girl who he didn't love and wasn't loved by in return no less? Was it being unfaithful if he would sneak out after dark to meet Ladybug? Or shared a bed with the girl? He wasn't with Ladybug but still. They were a team even if there was nothing between them. His fists clenched and unclenched at the thought of losing the one thing that was his and his alone because of a decision his father made. He should have guess his father would manage to do this. Strip him of his last bit of freedom and chain him to a girl who was the embodiment of everything he disliked.
He was startled out of his trance when he finally saw Ladybug next to him. Immediately those thoughts that festered in his mind were pushed back, not gone but instead muffled by his happiness at seeing his partner. The feeling of calm between the two went both ways. "My Lady. Always a pleasure seeing you." Chat Noir grinned broadly and his tail which had been flicking back and forth now slowed to a lazy sway. Some of the tension seeped away from his shoulders and he leaned forward on his cane to edge her personal space without fully intruding. Two toned green eyes examined his partner intently. He saw her own rigidity that usually wasn't there and a brow raised underneath his mask. It seemed that he wasn't the only one who had a difficult day.
"Care to start patrol late and bask in the moonlight with me? When was the last time we spent some quality time together?" Chat purred and gave Ladybug his signature flirtatious smile. However the playful quip was issued more for her rather than him. An offer that he'd sit with her atop Big Ben and listen to her troubles if she so wished. And if not, there was the way out to brush his antics aside and continue their routine as normal. At least with the exception of doting on his Lady with twice the effort in order to erase whatever problems she was dealing with herself.
Ladybug smirked slightly as he leaned in close. She didn't even spare him a glance. Perhaps he thought her a heart breaker, or a tease, she didn't really care. She had bigger thoughts on her mind than to play into the ploy's of a mischievous kitty cat. A small smirk tugged her lips, her keen blue eyes darting over to him for a moment before looking back over the magnificent city they called home. At some point she would talk about her troubles, she needed to. Tikki had encouraged her to. If anyone could help and calm her, it was Chat Noir. Right now though... Right now she just wanted to run. Slyly she unhooked her yo-yo so that she wouldn't plummet to her death when she launched herself from the tower. She took a few steps back before giving him a huge grin. "Only if you can keep up, kitty." She gently tapped his bell before moving back a bit more before running off the edge, a happy laugh leaving her. She swung her yo-yo, catching it on something and swinging off into the night.
Effortlessly she landed on a building and took off, hopping from building to building. She noticed that Chat was right on her tail, jumping across the street to run parallel to her. Ladybug wasn't sure how long they went like that, running and leaping and swinging from building to building. She went into she felt like she couldn't go anymore. Finally she came to a stop, breathing heavily as she stood on top of a church. Without realizing, she'd run far from the Agreste estate, close to her old boarding school. She was compelled to go see Chloe, but she knew that would only cause her heart to ache. She heard Chat land behind her.
It felt nice to push herself so hard, but now with the distractions gone and the moonlight streaming down she remembered why she had wanted to run so hard anyways. She felt him nearby, but she didn't pull her eyes from the city.
"I'm engaged." In the silence that followed she started to ramble, needing to get it off her chest. "My finance... Doesn't seem to like me very much. I don't think he understands what's going to happen. He doesn't seem to understand that I'm just as unhappy. My father plucked me from my life, from the person I love, to put me with a miserable man who acts like a child!" All the anger from the day was coming out now. She let out a bitter laugh, tears welling in the corners of her eyes. "He's one of the most selfish people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting! You know, maybe I wouldn't feel like this if he had bothered to talk to me. Our dinner was silent, he hardly even looked my way. He treated me like the biggest inconvenience he's ever had to face." She took a few deep breaths. "I wish I had just taken your offer." She hadn't because of Chloe. Bridgette had been naive enough to believe that she and Chloe could run away together. Now it was too late. No matter how awful Felix turned out to be, she couldn't leave him.
Chat Noir was stunned at her opening up. After their excursion he came to terms that she wasn't ready to share whatever trouble she was dealing with, yet here she was baring it all to him. The similarity of their situations was eerie though he could definitely relate to her feelings. "Seems we both missed our chance." He doubted he was ever her first choice, but he was at peace with that. Even now, if he could offer her some escape he'd do it in a heartbeat, but he was powerless in this situation just as he was powerless in his own. Matters like these were out of Chat Noir's capacity. It was infuriating, but here in the cover of night he could fully express himself and his anger. That however would come later, now was the time that he had to make his Lady smile again. "I myself am in an arranged marriage. But unlike myself, you have the charm of being you. It may not seem like it now but I assure you that this man will adore you just as everyone in London does." This is the part that will hurt. Both his Lady and him. "Running away isn't an option for us anymore." If he was honest with himself it probably never was. It was in neither of their nature. "And given the situation, you'll probably always love that other person." He certainly carried his own lingering feelings. But here he was, with his first love, giving her advice to cope with a lost love and doing his best to give her strength to pursue another. "As your partner, I know you have enough space in your heart to love more than one person. After all you manage this kitty quite well. One more childish man is nothing you can't handle." His grin was so large it hurt his cheeks. He ignored the pang in his chest at every word he spoke and instead took her hand to raise it to his lips. Placing a chaste kiss on her knuckles he mustered all his will to keep his ears from pressing against his head as he allowed the final vice to constrict on his heart. "I guarantee he will fall for you my Lady. If anyone can make it through this it's you." Chat Noir was confident that this mysterious man would come to love his Lady, and in time perhaps she would love the man back. It was her luck. Just like the miserable existence outside of being Chat Noir was his. Her good fortune was something he's always been both envious and grateful for. Now they would both have to learn to live with the choices that others set for them. He could only hope that her predicament would have a happier ending than his.
Ladybug knew, deep down, that Chat Noir was right. Running wasn't how they worked. She watched and listened, her attention now fully on him. Loving Felix would take time, but she was up for it. She wanted to. This was her life now, and she would be damned if she died before saying that she died unhappy and with love left to give. Felix would just have to accept that he was going to be nestled in her heart soon enough. She gave her heart to everyone, and he wouldn't be an exception. She knew it would hurt though, to love knowing it will likely never be returned. She had tears in her eyes as she flung her arms around him, nearly tackling him. Never let it be said that she didn't show her love in every way she could.
"I'll love him, I'm sure. I just... I need to stop being afraid of heart break." She sighed softly, and stepped back, holding his shoulders to keep him close and facing her. "Chat Noir, promise me you'll try and love her. She's likely just as unhappy." She cupped his cheeks gently. "She probably feels like the world is on her shoulders, and she's stuck no matter what. Don't forget that we live in a man's world. If she's anything like me, she's going to stay because of her father; because if she leaves she's got nothing for her except the mad house." She leaned forward and kissed his cheek gently before taking a few steps away. "We can be patient and learn to love again."
It would take time, but maybe Felix wouldn't despise her forever. Bridgette could love him easily enough. If she could love Chloe, she could love anyone. The whole situation hurt. She felt so stuck, so caged. There was nothing else for her in the world, not a thing of worth that belonged to her besides her body. Whoever was marrying Chat Noir was a lucky girl. Ladybug hoped things worked out for him. "You deserve to be happy, Chat." She smiled sweetly at him before looking back over the city. "I need to get back. There's something I need to do in the morning." She started to swing her yo-yo, glancing at him. "Get to know her. I'm sure you'll be surprised." She waved to him before jumping away, back towards the Agreste manor.
She took her time, landing gracefully on the balcony and letting Tikki take away her transformation. She sighed softly and yawned, catching the kwami. "Let's go to bed, Tikki." Bridgette was up early the next morning, in a shorter dress and apron. She decided to skip breakfast, instead heading to Felix's office. She stopped before knocking, her hand hesitating. She could just go to the garden without permission. Maybe that'd be better than getting denied? Bridgette sighed and caved, knocking on the door before waiting patiently for Felix to answer.
"Give me a moment." Felix ran a hand through his hair looking at the splintered remains of his desk. Besides the scattered papers on the ground showing there was a desk that had been there, hardly anything of the structure after being hit with cataclysm the night before. It was just a testament to his anger at the situation and destruction was the only thing he could do to vent. But since everything on the streets of London were off limits, he was running out of his own things to destroy. His outing as Chat Noir tensed him up rather than provided the usual reprieve of the real world so much so, that this time Plagg hadn't offered any remark after his hissy fit and the destruction of furniture. The kwami seemed to have sensed his chosen's distress after the patrol and the two had went straight to bed after the desk's deterioration. Unfortunately this left Felix to deal with the aftermath of his own stupidity.
At least he didn't have work that needed to be done today. Felix collected the papers and kept them in a neat stack as he headed to the door. Taking care to make sure Plagg was curled in pocket and putting the papers away, he opened the door to reveal Bridgette. He raised a brow and observed her head to toe, he had expected her to be at breakfast and he wasn't sure why she chose to show herself to him now. Immediately his Lady's words echoed in his mind. Of his intended being just as unhappy with the arrangement as he was, and him having to promise he'd try to love her. While he had given no verbal confirmation, he knew he'd end up doing as she asked. If there was anything that his upbringing taught him it was to grin and bear it, though the grinning part was left out.
He pushed back the previous feelings of resentment at the demure attitude and settled on civility when dealing with her. It was the best he could do when riding on the stress of the day before as well as the aftermath of patrol. "Yes? Is there something you need?" Well it was a start, but Ladybug had asked this of Chat Noir and it was time for Felix to deliver.
He was curt, but that was to be expected. Bridgette offered the best smile she could muster, just shy of a real one. The special, genuine smiles she gave were reserved for Chat and Chloe alone; only those who had her love. "Yes! You requested that I come ask before going into the garden. Would you mind if I did some work in it today? They told me I wasn't allowed to bring my schoolbooks and other novels with me, and my father hasn't sent anything for me to do. I'm afraid my bookshelf is a bit sparse and while I've got nothing to do and it's such a beautiful day I thought I'd tend to the garden some." She glanced down at her clothes. "I don't have any trousers, but this shouldn't drag in the mud too badly. I can take my shoes off if they get too muddy, perhaps even bring a towel down to wipe the ends of the dress." She looked up at him, rocking on her feet some. She hoped that somewhere, Chat was proud of her. She was trying.
For a moment Bridgette racked her brain, trying to think of something more they could do, another way she could connect to Felix.
"Perhaps we could take breakfast in the garden. I wasn't sure if you'd be joining me or not. You weren't exactly clear last night." She seemed to deflate some at the mention of the previous night, her mind flashing to the silent dinner. She stopped rocking and just like that her reality was crashing back down. Ladies didn't ramble and talk someone's ear off. She flushed lightly and glanced away before looking back up at him. "I-I'm sorry. They've always lectured me for my rambling. I don't mean to be a pest." Chloe was the only one she thought would tolerate it, much less enjoy it. She didn't expect Felix to tolerate it, no other man did.
He stared down at her and pressed his lips in a thin line. She wanted to go back to the garden? True her talking was more than necessary when it comes to simply requesting for permission but he found it less irritating than the submission of the other day after their spat. "I despise pests nor would I allow being around one. Wait while I gather some things so I can escort you." That was the closest he'd get to telling her he didn't find her rambling annoying. Felix collected his papers and gave a glance to where the desk once was, yes, he'd need another place to finish his work. Felix entered the hallway and nodded his head towards the way of the garden, "Let's go. I'll have plates sent outside to us. And next time the gardeners show I'll put in the request to see if they'd leave some equipment if you wish."
Their way to the garden was silent with the exception of his talking to Nathalie about the arrangements for breakfast being served and placing the orders for a desk and some plants, to which he only got a raised eyebrow but no questions. When they reached the garden, he made himself comfortable on a stone bench underneath a tree, uncaring at how the morning dew still on the grass dampened the bottom of his pant legs. It was no matter, his father was out, and outside of his desk work there was nothing that demanded his presence. These next few days were scheduled to be focused primarily on becoming acquainted with his soon to be wife which meant no disturbances thankfully.
He was hardly into his first paper when he thought back to what Bridgette had told him. Without glancing up he decided to be the first to strike the conversation, "You said before you had some novels that didn't make it here. Are there any in particular you wish to recover? I have an extensive collection myself you can rummage through."
She took his statement as him not finding her annoying. Bridgette hoped that was a correct assumption, it'd be terribly awkward if it wasn't. "Tools would be fantastic! And I'll come up with a list of plants for the aphid problem. Besides, having ladybugs around can help with other problems as well. They're pretty too." Perhaps that was too much flattery.
She was silent as she trailed behind Felix to the gardens, feeling Tikki eagerly shift in her inner-dress pocket. Bridgette would have to sneak her some aphids for breakfast. She was also going to have to ask Felix about sweets. Perhaps another time though.
Once in the gardens Bridgette looked around and found a spot that would due to start work on. Thankfuly her sleeves were three-quarter lengths, so she didn't need to worry about that. She walked over and kneeled in front of it, pulling her dress out from under her legs so she could feel the damp dirt against her legs. She began to pull the weeds then, brows knit in concentration as she thought. So absorbed in her mind, she was startled when Felix spoke.
Bridgette jumped slightly and straightened before looking over at him. "Yes, actually! I had a few books on plants, and another few on cats and insects. I can't recall the author's names right now. There were a few fiction novels as well as some history books I was quite fond of." She smiled some at him before going back to her work while she talked. "I don't think Father will have them sent. He doesn't exactly... approve. He wouldn't approve of this either." She giggled a bit, grinning to herself. Now that she'd decided to try and love him, she was letting information flow freely. Hopefully she wouldn't get into trouble.
"I can request them being brought. The purpose of these next few days is to get 'acquainted' and make you feel 'at home' so anything that helps." He could ask under the guise of pleasing his soon to be wife. Or he could claim her possessions as his own because of their union, then give them back once he had them. Whatever would work, though judging by her statement he'd probably have to go with the latter. Idly, he wondered if his Lady would disapprove of him using his new position as suitor and husband to get what he wanted. Taking a glance over at Bridgette, he concluded that no, if he did it for the right reasons then it was okay. So long as he didn't apply that complete authority to Bridgette, his Lady would understand, or he hoped so.
He tapped his pen on the paper, reading through the papers he had before being interrupted by a maid bringing the breakfast they requested. The polished silver tray was set next to Felix on the bench, refreshments and two plates of egg, bread and bacon filled it's contents, there was even a dish of fruit and extra pastries on the side for them. No doubt their attempt to give his betrothed a warm reception from the cooking staff. He gave a nod to the servant, "Thank you. And don't worry about collecting the tray. I'll handle it." She gave a polite curtsy before leaving he and Bridgette alone again.
Picking up his drink, he took a sip then returned to his papers, the work wasn't too complicated by the look of it, only tedious. Felix took his eyes off the document momentarily to look at the wouldbe gardener, "Breakfast is here. Feel free to sit on the other side of the bench when you wish."
The suggestion at her books being brought here wasn't one Bridgette really expected. Maybe Felix offering to buy her new books, but not this. This just seemed so out of the way for him. She stood up and wiped her hands off on her apron, watching him carefully for a moment. Despite trying to open herself up, those guards she'd spent long putting up weren't going to come down so soon. Yes she was working on them, but her first thought was that Felix wanted something in return for the books. When she noticed he didn't even seem to be paying attention to her she relaxed slightly, walking over to the bench and sitting on the other side of him. "I'd really appreciate them being brought. I have all my notes written in. I'd hate to lose all of that."
She carefully picked up the coffee and took a sip, humming softly. The warm drink soothed her throat from any irritation the pollen was starting to bring out. It tasted better than the coffee they'd served at her school. While tea was her preferred drink, she certainly didn't mind this. She carefully set it down before picking up a plate. The food was wonderful, and sooner or later she'd have to make her way to the kitchens and properly introduce herself to the chef. She didn't eat much, only the eggs, a piece of the bacon, and a pastry over the bread. She carefully set it aside, had a few more sips of coffee before taking a few deep breaths and simply looking over the garden. Bridgette usually didn't eat much, but Tikki stirring in her pocket prompted her to pick up the plate and finish off the bacon and half a pastry before she started to feel sick.
Wincing slightly she carefully set the pastry down. Tikki would have to be happy with this. Hopefully she wouldn't start complaining about Bridgette needing to eat better or something like that. A light lunch was likely in order after this. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing, almost forgetting Felix's presences at her side entirely. She was relaxed out here, a small smile tugging her lips. The only thing that could make it better would be to have Chloe here.
Chloe.
Bridgette suddenly stiffened and opened her eyes, her smiling vanishing. She stood abruptly, walking to the area she'd started work on earlier. "The food is incredible. I'd like to speak with the kitchen staff before the end of the day. The kitchens in the basement, right? Or is it on the first floor? I can't quite recall if you showed me or not." She glanced up from where she was pulling weeds and over to Felix, watching him.
"First floor. But if you intend on speaking with them I should tell you they typically leave once dinner is served. After of course they finish their own meal." The staff couldn't dine with the masters of the house and had no reason to stay afterwards. Felix tore off a corner of a pastry and popped the food in his mouth. If he noticed the way Bridgette's demeanor changed he wasn't going to call her out on it. At least he didn't think it would be appropriate to. If there was anything his Lady taught him it was that every lady was entitled to her secrets.
He'd promised his partner to put forth the effort to be kind to his intended but he wasn't sure how to incorporate those types of affections in his actions as easily as it would be for Chat to. His thoughts dwelled on a course of action until he realized he had been staring at his papers without truly processing what they said. He gave a sigh of agitation and started reread the passages describing the finances of the estate soon to be changed. Such a loathsome and tedious process. If he was a rebellious sort, he'd make his father finish the paperwork since the marriage was in fact his idea, but unfortunately he was not. It didn't help that if he didn't do it the chances of his father even bothering to pick up the papers were slim to none.
His fingers pinched the bridge of his nose, he was only a day into this situation and already he was tired of the hassles of marriage. It was only when he looked up at Bridgette that he made himself to remember her position was probably the same as his, just like Ladybug said. Unwilling, tried, irritated, but forced to make the best of it.
Pursing his lips, he only stopped for a moment before averting his eyes from Bridgette and back to the papers in order to avoid her gaze. "I'll be heading into town today. I feel that a trip to the florist and requesting the plants there will allow a quicker order. Would you like to accompany my or just give me a list of the plants that need to be bought?" If Felix wanted the infestation dealt with and the garden looking as radiant as it had once been, he needed Bridgette's expertise. His want to go out also stemmed from the restlessness he was in as well as knowing Nathalie was swamped enough with his father's commands and why ask her to do something he could do on his own.
(...) Three months had gone by faster than Bridgette even realized. Settling into the Agreste manor hadn't been too difficult when everyone was trying their hardest to make her feel welcomed. Over the first few weeks she'd made friends with the kitchen staff, and now took her breakfast with them on the mornings she didn't dine with Felix. Her pleasure in making friends with anyone, regardless of class, had been one of the many things that made her different from her parents. They weren't fond of her habits, and had tried to get it out of her. Of course, it hadn't worked in the slightest. The future Lady Agreste had befriended every staff member in the manor, and seemed to have started to make the manor a home once again.
Things with Felix were getting along pleasantly as well. It hadn't taken long for her to find herself starting to fall for him. She'd always known her heart was too easy to win, and yet she didn't regret anything in the slightest. Being around Felix made her happy, despite his grumpy attitude. She'd seen it though, the kindness and love that lingered underneath that grouchy thick skin. It always happened when he thought no one was looking, and perhaps that made her love him all the more. Chat Noir had been helpful and sweet, but she hadn't seen nearly enough of him. It seemed they'd both been busy as of late.
With every up there is a downside though. Her's came with the increased severity of her nightmares. Things had started out slow. Just paranoid feelings and having trouble sleeping. After a month things had started to spiral. Nightmares came three times a week and she struggled to fall asleep, fearful they would come back. Tikki seemed worried, but there didn't seem to be anything they could do about them. So Bridgette coped, getting less sleep than she should, but able to deal with it well enough. It was one of the mornings following her nightmare nights that she went down early to the kitchen, sitting up at the breakfast bar and munching on the food they so graciously gave her while she thought. Felix was always busy working, and she hated seeing him so stressed. It'd been a few days since they'd had any time with each other. Something had come up every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, it was time for an intervention. Working that much couldn't be healthy.
So, after his maid came to tell her that he'd eaten, she went to his office. The door had been left ajar, so she let herself in, making her presence known by clearing her throat. She made it a habit to sneak him out to do things about once a week, so really, when it hadn't happened in two, he should have expected it by now. Especially since it hadn't happened in two weeks. He seemed not to realize that she was here, too engrossed in the papers in front of him, that adorable look of focus on his face. Bridgette walked over and stood beside him, carefully moving the papers away from him, sitting on the edge of his desk. Her fingers closed around his hand. "Felix, you've cancelled eating with me every day this week." She pouted out her lip. "Clearly it's to do this, and I'll have no more. You looked like you've aged a year and it's just been a few days." She reached up and brushed her fingers along his face before tucking his bangs back behind his ear. "Come on, let's go do something. If you don't get out of this office you're going to end up like your father." Over the past few months, she'd learned the difficult balance when discussing Felix's father. This usually worked. It seemed to make him realize that, if nothing else, he should leave the office for her benefit.
Already tired blue gray eyes blinked in confusion, surprised by the absence of paperwork and numbers in his vision with it's replacement instead being the vision that would be his wife. It just went to show how truly immersed he was in the work and how little he seemed to realize time escaped him. He only sighed and tilted his head minutely into her touch, no different than a cat would when being pet, listening to her speak. When he first started to notice he liked the affection and being touched, he insistently blamed Plagg and his feline influence. But as days went on he came to terms that there was just something comforting in the gestures and he'd very much like to keep them rather than say something to make them stop.
Unfortunately, talk of his father easily snapped him out of the lull he had been drifting into. "I would rather not skip our dining together if I could help it but there is a deadline I have to meet you know." The arguing was halfhearted at best as even he knew he was tired of the seemingly endless stream of papers. "Then there had been a mistake in the first set of work, changing everything else that follows so that will all have to be redone..." He continued on, more muttering his to do list to himself than explaining why he couldn't leave to Bridgette. It wasn't until he felt tiny claws poke his leg through his pant pocket that he stopped what he was saying in favor of looking up at Bridgette. With both her and Plagg, who always gives him an earful when working, voicing their concerns, he knew it would be futile to try and get out of it. And considering his own want to leave, it wasn't too difficult of a choice to make, the threat of becoming a recluse like his father was also all the more motivation to leave.
So rather than forcing a reason to stay, Felix nodded his head and the corners of his lips to twitch upwards in a small smile despite his eye roll, "I suppose it is time for me to get some air and take you out. Heavens knows we haven't given the guard and Nathalie a good scare." While he cared deeply for the assistant and bodyguard, it was nice not to feel so pressured and on constant vigilance. His sneaking out with Bridgette gave him some of the same feelings of freedom he gets when transformed. Thankfully the two seemed to understand their need to get out since the couple usually get a stern talking to as opposed to being ratted out to his father if caught. So Nathalie and Gorilla allow these transgressions to happen even if they have their own concerns.
Felix stands up and stretches, feeling and hearing his spine pop from his lack of movement earlier.  "I'll leave a notice for Nathalie on the off chance that she comes looking for us." He shot her an amused look before making and signing the note and setting it on his desk. Hopefully they would be back before anyone noticed they were gone but better to be safe than sorry. With the warning in place, Felix walked around the tabletop and took Bridgette's hand to go, only turning to shut the door behind them, "As the mastermind behind this venture do you have any place in particular you wish to go?"
Felix's response to her touch would have been missed to an untrained eye. Over the past few months Bridgette had learned quite a bit about Felix and his body language. He was quiet and reserved, and it took a lot of persistence to get where she was now. Bridgette had learned the difference between what was overstepping and what was welcome (two lines that were very hard to decipher). As someone who enjoyed physical contact and craved it, it had taken awhile to settle herself into this. The last thing she wanted was to push him away on accident. So once she got the 'okay' to do it, she gently played with his hair, twirling the light gold locks around her slender fingers.
"If you need a reason to enjoy a meal with me you could always say it's because we need to plan that party." While she wasn't exactly eager for the engagement party, both her family and Felix's were so high-profile that it was practically required. Nathalie had brought it up and Bridgette had agreed without compliant simply because she knew that this was expected. At first she'd been nervous about the whole ordeal, but with Felix close by everything would surely be fine. There was no way that the her family would be invited anyways. Well... Bridgette hoped as much. She doubted that she'd get a chance to look over the guest list to make sure anyways. "Deadlines aren't the world, Felix. Your associates would be understanding enough for you to at least eat dinner with your soon-to-be wife." Bridgette had no way of knowing for certain though, men could be just as unpredictable as women.
Felix agreed without any further convincing. Not only that but he smiled, smiled! Bridgette beamed and jumped up, waiting patiently. While she doesn't see the use in leaving a note, she's sure that their guardians appreciate it. Once he took her hand she tugged him ahead slightly, a loud laugh leaving her. She turned back to look at him, giving the biggest grin she could muster. "I have no idea! The world is our oyster, Felix." She giggled a bit before turning back to see what was ahead of her so she didn't fall flat on her face. "If you wanted to leave the estate we could go to the nursery and pick out some more plants, or the bookstore... "She hummed. "Or we could stay here and hide somewhere in the manor. Or we could tend the gardens." She slowed her pace and bumped her side against his, looking up at him once more. "Really we could do anything."
"Without deadlines, nothing would get done in time and you know it. Not everyone can be graced with the ability to finish their work in an hour and have it be both completed as well as excellent quality." Honestly, it really wasn't fair that she could and he couldn't. But he supposed opposites attract, they had managed to make it this far in the relationship even with the shaky start they had after all. The two of them proved to be quite the pair. If someone were to tell him before they'd met, even in that first week, that he'd enjoy the company of a bubbly young lady to the point where he'd allow her to come into his office and openly speak her mind as well as touch him, he would have openly scoffed in their face. Looks like time proved him wrong, and gladly so.
He gave a small chuckle as he followed her, the suggestions bouncing back and forth from her were all pretty interesting to consider. "Let's do the nursery first, we need flowers finalized for the party and no we aren't going there just for business." She wouldn't be happy with him if he went from one work state of mind to another. But since they were already going to go there might as well. "We can pick up some more plants and come back to tend the garden. It's coming along nicely." Felix still kept his mother's place under lock and key, no one really outside of the two of them was allowed spend extended periods of time in there. And in regards to addressing it, he tried to keep it in an objective light, otherwise he'd fall prey to those pesky emotions he needs to get rid of. But he supposed this was much better than how it had been, the garden wasting away along with the occupants within it.
"However we should talk about the party. Do you have a dress for the occasion? The day is soon upon us." Of course this brought thoughts of his own outfit, which of course led to another train of thought regarding the event itself. Planning, catering, staff, and soon enough he had the same furrow in his brow he usually did when he began thinking too deeply about a subject. Felix, still silent as his mind buzzed with thoughts, escorted her out of the mansion before getting the transportation needed to go through town and to the nursery.
She let out an airy giggle, giving him a large grin. "It's not my fault that I have all the luck, Felix." Bridgette, of course, had no idea how close to true that was. "I wish you would let me help you. What's the point of being educated if you dont' get to use it at all?" She was whining a bit, however she didn't really care. It was boring without schoolwork. Bridgette didn't think she'd ever miss doing essays and assignments, and yet here she was. The garden helped, after all there was plenty of work to be done, but it wasn't enough for her. Perhaps getting a few more books and an art tablet of some sort would help.
Felix, of course, brought up party plans. She pouted lightly, linking her arm with his. "You better mean that, Felix Agreste. This is supposed to be relaxing for you." Bridgette rested her head on his shoulder slightly as they walked. It was comfortable being with him. She felt safe which, really, was the most important thing. The talk of the garden made Bridgette grin. "It's beautiful, isn't it? By the time of the party it'll create an amazing view." She didn't suggest people going into it, Felix probably wouldn't take too kindly to that.
The scowl took up it's place on his face before Bridgette even had a chance to answer. She stopped him, stepping in front of him and resting her hands on his chest. She offered a patient smile before lightly fixing his tie, brushing her hands over the lapels of his outfit. She straightened his house crest pin before sighing softly and looking up at him, keeping her hands pressed against his heart. "Felix, my love, everything will be fine. I'm getting a dress tailored this week. It's going to be red, it looks very pretty. I've been discussing food with the kitchen and we almost have something for you to approve. For flowers I was thinking something simple for the fall weather, lots of greenery and oranges and reds; I drew something out, you'll like it." She gently cupped his cheeks so he would look at her, being proper went out the window after she'd gotten used to Felix. "Decorations are being taken care of as well. Take today off, let that busy, beautiful mind of your's rest. Promise me?" She smiled adoringly at him.
Felix felt his face flush at the closeness and even more so at her expression, when has anyone ever looked at him like that, "Yes, a day of would be good for us. It sounds like everything's been handled regardless." Be still his beating heart if she didn't know exactly what to say to him to get him to relax and let go. Reaching up to grasp her hands, he moved them up to brush his lips against the tips of her fingers, nodding once in compliance to her request that he stop thinking.  It was a wonder how he managed to get her into his life when it usually consisted of nothing but bad luck on his end. He pushed back the pessimistic thoughts of wondering when this will inevitably end and have to savor this, enjoy her company while he could.
"And the garden is coming along splendidly, no more aphids and even with the cooler weather settling in it's holding up strong." No doubt the amount of care both he and she put into the area was worth every speck of dirt on their clothing and callous on their otherwise aristocrat hands. He didn't think anyone at the party would appreciate the work that was done in order to get the garden to it's current state and much less at the fact it was the two of them contributing to the hard labor.
When they finally made it out to the nursery he found that the air was still crisp even with the sun overhead on this rare day that London wasn't overcast with clouds. The feline within him purred as he soaked in the warmth of the sun's rays and Felix felt himself feeling immensely better than when he had been sitting in that damned chair in his office for who knows how long. "I must say your idea of getting out of the house is already turning out to be a success. We can send the plants back and walk to the nearest book store if you feel up to it."
A soft blush rose to her cheeks at his gentle kisses. He had a way of surprising her with little, unexpected things. Bridgette adored it. As they walked she kept her hand in Felix's, not wanting to stray too far from him. His closeness had a soothing effect on her, whisking away the last bits of nightmare clinging to her mind. "During the fall when the seasonal plants hibernate for the winter will be a good time to finish up the cleaning. There's still weeds in that back section, and I'm sure we've missed some. We'll get to it all before next spring though. Probably even before the winter really sets in." Bridgette smiled broadly. "It's going to be beautiful next spring."
"I'd love to! I've read through the ones we purchased last time we went." Bridgette kept her hand in his, a broad smile on her face. She tugged him over to some flowering plants, carefully touching a few of the petals. "Would you rather have flower arrangements or potted plants for the party? I think they'd last longer, and the house could always use a bit more to cheer it up... " Bridgette felt a frown work onto her face. There was something about the house that just didn't feel right. Too empty? Too cold? She wasn't sure. Without really thinking on it she snapped the petal, jumping slightly when she felt her hand slip. She felt Tikki stir under her skirts and she carefully pressed into Felix's side, wondering if she should tell him about the dreams.
Bridgette glanced up at him. He had enough to worry about without Bridgette adding something that was probably nothing on top of it all. Nightmares weren't unusual when one was anxious. There probably wasn't a thing to worry about. "I think we should get something bright. Like mums," she murmured, gently tugging him over to the plants. She gave a shake of her head, forcing a smile and turning to face him properly. "What do you want?"
His lips pursed as he looked over her, having felt the small jolt accompanied by the small ramble. Had she been upset about something she obviously would have told him, right, or perhaps it was her own nerves about the party manifesting itself into this jumpy nature. Regardless he decided not to think too much on it, if Bridgette was upset about something she would make it known and confide in him, or at least he hoped so. Instead he chose to gently squeeze her hand and overlook the plants she had picked out with an inquisitive eye. "Yes, something that would last longer would provide dual purpose as both decoration and decor."
There was a slight intermission where Félix spoke to the florist to get the arrangements ready for transport before he turned his attention back to Bridgette. Now was the time he was sure she'd appreciate, bringing the main focus on the garden. "And beauty is fleeting, doesn't mean we shouldn't anticipate their future bloom. Perhaps plan for a bright plethora of colors in the spring." The area itself was returning to it's elegance and refinement however, with the cold weather upon them it couldn't be certain that the plants would stick around. On the positive side, it was as she said, it would be easier to maintain the grounds itself.
The image of the sprouting garden in the spring brought a small smile to his face. Reaching out with his free hand he plucked a flower from it's place and moved it to rest behind Bridgette's ear. "In fact a splash of color would do nicely." Brighten up the house, the outside and hopefully put some cheer in Bridgette's mood. While he wouldn't address her change of demeanor it didn't mean he couldn't do what he could to help.
As glad as she was for his comfort, Bridgette couldn't help but feel like she'd done him a disservice by not telling him what was troubling her. Later she would have to talk to Tikki about it. The choice was such a hard one to make. After all, he was precious to her, and she didn't want to burden him without cause. On the other hand, the nightmares were getting worse, and it was only a matter of time before the lack of sleep would become apparent in the way she lived her life. Surely Chat Noir would notice it as well, how tired his Lady seemed. They'd be seeing each other again tonight to do a patrol. Hawkmoth seemed to be going dormant for now. It worried Bridgette; surely that meant that he was up to nothing but evil.
For now though, she put those thoughts from her mind. Right now she was here with Félix. She simply wanted to enjoy her time with him.
"The garden was beautiful this summer. I can't wait to see it when it's just blooming. I bet it's something special." Bridgette knew that Lady Agreste had taken great care when planning and constructing the garden -- she'd seen as much from her own work in it. This spring would bring bright colors and new hope and new life to the dreary manor. It seemed that in the year's since Lady Agreste's death, all the wonders that lay hidden inside the Agreste Estate drained out, leaving two miserable men in a miserable house. Bridgette wanted to do her part to fix it.
The gentle brush against the side of her head brought Bridgette back to the present and out of her thoughts. A grin tugged her lips upwards. "Something with a fall theme of course -- can't clash with the leaves. In the spring I'm thinking we plant lots of seasonsals with bright purples and pinks," she mused gently. Her fingers curled around the edge of his coat. She was sure they were being watched, they always were. Hopefully people would mind their business, or only assume the truth. She and Félix were just two young adults in love. There was nothing wrong with that.
"Shall we go to the bookstore now? I trust the nursery to arrange something fitting with what we've chosen."
(...)
It was later the same day and while all the errands wore against him, he still looked forward to patrol. A plate of cheese was set out for his kwami and Félix was left with his thoughts. He tapped a finger on his desk, trying to make sense of Bridgette's behavior earlier. He was fairly certain that something had been bothering her, be it the party or perhaps getting cold feet from the wedding? The whole thing made him uneasy, and he wasn't so sure as he'd previously been in the fact she would confide in him. Before he could think too deeply on the matter a satisfied burp interrupted his thoughts. Félix gave an impressed look to the small cat before calling forth his claws.
In a flash of green lightning Chat Noir stood in the room of the study, stretching as he let out a content sigh at the transformation change. It didn't matter how much time passed, he'd forever feel comfort in donning the mask and allowing all expectations to fall around him, though he did find a similar feeling in his recent change of company. He looked down at the silver ring resting snugly near his knuckle, a sharp contrast to the polished black cat head on his opposite hand. It was almost time yet there was no real feeling of trepidation, rather the want to embrace it. Nodding to himself and making his mind up at the decision, he left the ring on and left the room via the window making sure to carefully sneak out and lock the entrance behind him.
The air was cool as he leaped on the rooftops, making his way towards the signature meeting spot of he and Ladybug.  It didn't take long to scale the clock face, coming to the uppermost walkways in search of his partner, "My Lady? are you here yet?"
 FANTASY
Once Upon a Time
Season 6: Episode 18 – Where Bluebirds Fly
In flashback, Zelena befriends a young woodcutter who has been cursed and turns to her for help finding a new heart. Zelena is forced to choose between keeping her powers and her friendship with him. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Zelena decides to take on the Black Fairy and put a stop to her, once and for all, against Regina's wishes, and the Charmings disagree over Emma and Hook's wedding plans.
So this was more of a Zelena proving herself episode. She keeps trying to do the “right” thing and ends up messing it up even more. She tried taking on the Black Fairy, and yet made it worse and made her more powerful. The backstory of her with the tin man was mostly exposition to get the heart she needed. When she completely screwed up, it seemed like she would actually go back to Oz. But then she decided against it and sacrificed something she cared about dearly in order to save everyone. It would have been a fitting ending for Zelena, as it feels like the writers have had little to do with her character lately. But her giving up her magic seemed to help with the heroes’ plan. Now… if only they can figure out how to get the heart back from the Black Fairy.
Season 6: Episode 19 – The Black Fairy
In flashback, after Rumple’s mother, Fiona, learns from his fairy godmother that his destiny is prophesized, she does everything in her power to keep it from happening. Ultimately, Fiona will have to make a decision that will change the course of both their lives forever. Meanwhile in Storybrooke, Rumple faces a similar dilemma.
So we get the backstory to Rumple’s mother. And of course she’s a misunderstood character. Can’t we ever get a character that is just inherently bad and doesn’t have connections to everyone? I suppose that wouldn’t make for good drama. The prophecy about the evil being born the same winter as her son… I think it is safe to say it was not a shock when we discovered it was her. This episode would have been better placed earlier in the season. Giving us a bit of backstory before we saw the evil of the Black Fairy. It would have allowed the audience to sympathise with her a little bit more. The final scene with Gold was both intriguing and heartbreaking at the same time. We love Rumple as a villain, but at the same time, don’t we love him as one of the heroes? With the final battle approaching, it will be interesting to see who will be on whose side.
NEXT WEEK
Season 6: Episode 20 – The Song in Your Heart
In flashback, Snow and Charming make a special wish that Emma will be protected. The result of their wish has the whole kingdom bursting into song which infuriates the Evil Queen. Meanwhile in Storybrooke, the Black Fairy announces her plans to unleash another curse on the town while Emma and Hook prepare for their wedding.
  PARANORMAL
Lucifer
Season 2: Episode 14 – Candy Morningstar
Two weeks after Chloe’s near death, Lucifer has gone off the grid, cutting off all contact from his family and the police department. He materializes just in time to help solve an up-and-coming guitarist’s murder and introduces the department to a ditzy stripper named Candy, a mysterious new woman in his life. While Lucifer’s mom desperately tries to contact her son, Chloe tries to push him away. Lucifer must find a way to prove himself in order to be invited back onto the team.
Welcome back Lucifer. And Mrs. Morningstar. It was interesting to see Chloe jealous, but uncertain why she felt this way. The arrival of Candy was Lucifer’s way to deal with the fact that his father was the one who put Chloe in his path to begin with. But it was all too good to be true. Of course it was not as it seemed. Watching the family and the department run around in circles trying to figure out what Lucifer had planned was almost as good as Candy discovering different things during the murder investigation. It was entertaining to watch this episode, and the little bits of comic relief were perfectly placed.
NEXT WEEK
Season 2: Episode 15 – Deceptive Little Parasite
When it is discovered that the flaming sword is the only hope for the family returning home safely, the pressure is on for Lucifer to control what he has never been able to control before – his emotions – in order to ignite it. Meanwhile, Chloe wants to air some emotions of her own, but when a therapist and head of admissions at a prestigious private school turns up dead, the team must get to the bottom of it
 IZombie
Season 3: Episode 4 – Wag the Tongue Slowly
Clive’s patience is tested when Liv consumes the brain of a murder victim who had the reputation of being the ultimate office gossip. Meanwhile, Blaine and Peyton continue to grow closer as they wait to see if Ravi is able to reverse the effects of the cure. Lastly, Major is one step away from fulfilling a promise.
Sadly this is the episode where we see the serum for the cure not working. Blaine does not regain his memories, which for him is a good thing, but for Major it is a bad thing. Major is dying due to the cure, and his only chance is to take the serum. And if he does, he’ll forget everything. Peyton is put in the middle of the dilemma, because she really likes the new version of Blaine, and would be able to forgive his past deeds. But in doing so, without the memories coming back, a friend of hers could die.
Season 3: Episode 5 – Spanking the Zombie
When Liv consumes the brains of a dominatrix, her bossy and controlling personality makes everyone a little uncomfortable, especially Clive. Meanwhile, Blaine and Peyton have a heart-to-heart.
You have to love dominatrix Liv; she took on that role very well. It was a bit difficult for Clive to keep her in line, but luckily he now knows that she is a zombie, and can just explain the kind of brain she had eaten. And fair warning, the final scene with Liv and Major certainly kicked me in the feels, and made me hope that he keeps his memories. They seem like the couple that could never get together properly, but the one we all want to see end up happily ever after. But, because it is television, we’ll have to wait for a very long time, or never, to get it.
NEXT WEEK
Season 3: Episode 6 – Some Like it Hot Mess
To help Clive solve the murder of an irresponsible narcissist, Liv consumes her brain and literally becomes a hot mess. Meanwhile, Peyton learns some shocking news. Lastly, Ravi experiences a major setback.
 Supernatural
Season 12: Episode 19 – The Future
Sam comes up with a way to stop Lucifer’s baby but Castiel has something else in mind for Kelly. Dean is furious when he finds out someone stole the colt. Kelly makes a bold choice about the baby’s future.
Poor Castiel, always trying to do the right thing, but in the wrong ways, and always getting crap from Dean about it. But this seemed different. Castiel wanted to take the baby to heaven to kill it, Sam and Dean wanted to try something to take away the baby’s powers given to him by Lucifer, and Kelly wants to have her baby with all his powers. It seems that the baby was already beginning to protect Kelly from certain dangers, and so protecting himself. It is certain that Kelly will die in giving birth to her new son, but she is aware of this. By the end, Castiel makes yet another decision that leaves us with dropped jaws, and he swears to protect Kelly and her unborn child, to be born with all his powers. But, thanks to the fight with the prince of hell, the Colt is now broken and they have no way of fighting the next battle.
Season 12: Episode 20 – Twigs and Twine and Tasha Banes
Alicia Banes calls Mary for help after her mother, Tasha, goes missing. Sam answers Mary’s phone and he and Dean head out to help Alicia and her twin brother, Max, find their mother who was hunting a powerful witch. Meanwhile, Mary starts to have some doubts about the British Men of Letters.
The case with Alicia and her brother was interesting enough; it is always interesting when old characters make reappearance on a show. We also learn how Sam and Dean don’t allow others to do what they have done. They have sacrificed and broken the rules for each other so many times it’s almost comical when they die, but they will not allow others to do that for the ones they love. It could be viewed as a holier than thou situation, or they could be doing it to protect others. They know the consequences if something goes wrong, and they seek to protect everyone. But while all of this is going, it’s hitting the fan with the British Men of Letters. Mary starts digging into the truth and this episode really starts to kick off and set up for the next few episodes of the season.
NEXT WEEK
Season 12: Episode 21 – There’s Something About Mary
Sam and Dean are alarmed when they learn hunters are being killed by suspicious “accidents” all over the country. They decide it is best to find Mary and make sure she’s safe. Meanwhile, Toni is back in the states and she and Mary face off.
 SCI-FI
Doctor Who
Season 10: Episode 3 – Thin Ice
The Doctor and Bill visit London during the last of the River Thames frost fairs in February 1814. They soon discover that there is something under the ice which is causing people to disappear.
Bill really shines in this episode as she sows her humanity towards the children on the ice. She shows her compassion and her generosity and helps the Doctor to see it as well. How many of you were expecting to see another version of the Doctor and River Song when he took her to the Frost Fairs in 1814. This episode must have occurred after that event because of the thaw. So, River Song’s birthday must be in January. It would have been interesting to see a glimpse of River’s hair or perhaps they walk past another TARDIS, just as a shout out to the viewers. But alas, this was a Doctor and Bill episode. This companion is really starting to grow on me.
Season 10: Episode 4 – Knock Knock
Bill is moving in with some friends and they’ve found the perfect house – so what if it’s strangely cheap to rent, and the landlord is a little creepy? The wind blows, the floorboards creak, and the Doctor thinks something is very wrong. What lurks in the strange tower at the heart of the building – and why can’t they find any way to enter it?
Things with Bill seem a little different from other companions. With the others, the transition between their personal life and their life with the Doctor seemed more narrated. But with Bill, it seems like we just jump into the thick of it. This works for this character. It worked when she was introduced, her character, her interests, and now this situation. The house was creepy up until the point we discovered what exactly it was. The idea that the house was eating people was really fun; it reminded me of a movie I saw once. The twist at the end seemed to be given away far sooner than the characters caught onto it, about who the woman was. In the final few moments when the Doctor enters the vault, it is uncertain who is inside, playing the piano. But given the tune they were playing, it is highly possible that it would have been the Master or Missy, depending on the regeneration that the character is in. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this subject.
NEXT WEEK
Season 10: Episode 5 – Oxygen
The Doctor, Bill and Nardole answer a distress call in deep space, and find themselves trapped on board space station Chasm Forge. All but four of the crew have been murdered – and the dead are still walking! In a future where oxygen is sold by the breath, and space suits are valued more highly than their occupants, the TARDIS crew battle for survival against the darkest evil of all…
season three episode seven
Welcome to the best episode of the season, brought to you by Clear Blue, the Mile-High Club, and Amazon Sunglasses. BOOP! Let’s cut to the feeling!
Nothing like sweating out a hangover! I love watching Juliette and Kelsey work out while I’m sitting on my couch eating cereal for no reason at 8 PM. This is doing wonders for my self-esteem. The friends start discussing the previous night at White Buffalo Saloon. After Alex and Juliette had that emotional convo outside and she left, they ended up talking on the phone for SIX HOURS. Six hours! I just want to know where Alyssa was while Romeo was telling Juliette he still loved her over the course of 360 minutes. Shout out to Kelsey for being a good friend and telling Juliette that Alex is “a bag of dog shit. On fire.”
Tumblr media
The face your best friend makes when you confess that you’re talking to your ex.
The only thing I hate more than lying is longboarding. And Amanda is guilty of both. Though she and Brandon may be moving fast on their weirdly oversized/emo skateboards, their relationship is slowing to a halt. Brandon starts quizzing Amanda about where she disappeared to last night, and she looks genuinely offended that he had the audacity to question her. Why is it that whenever people are guilty, they get so defensive? Any sociologists out there to give me their two cents? (Shout out Alex, for confusing psychology with sociology in episode five. Never change. <3)
Tumblr media
This scene is already annoying me because Boring Robby, Jake, and Joe are setting up for the “Rebella” party. Number one, I thought we were done with Boring Robby – get off of my screen – and number two, as much as it pains me, I have to agree with Alex on one thing. Rebella looks like a complete and utter scam. And if I wasn’t so distracted by the beads covering Joe’s face, I’d report this to the Better Business Bureau as a potential money laundering cover-up. As Robby wonders if Juliette will show up, we cut to Juliette and Kelsey’s house. Kelsey, excited to get to the party to see her boss/love interest Jake, convinces Juliette to go. Nothing like showing up to your ex-boyfriend’s party two days after breaking up with him.
Tumblr media
Why do people insist upon having tough convos over coffee in this show? First Juliette and her boss, then Robby and Amanda, and now this. As Madisson sits down with Chloe to grab lattes, things get serious quickly. Madisson is having a pregnancy scare! After tearfully confiding in Chloe, Madisson works up the nerve to get a test and Facetimes Dad “Baby” Ish to see the results. I’m sorry, but if my girlfriend randomly Facetimed me at work crying about potentially being with child, I’d be a little more emotive than Ish, who was apathetic about the whole situation. (Clearly, there’s a reason he was behind the camera and not in front of it.) After Madisson finally puts us all out of our misery and checks the test, we discover that she is not, in fact, carrying Ish’s spawn. Shocker! But now she’s forced to think about the reality of dating Old Man Ish since he’s an old man. Does she need to have kids sooner now since her boyfriend is practically in the grave? My head is spinning, I can’t think about this right now. Hopefully, that’s the only unwanted pregnancy of the season!
The Rebella party is in full swing, but instead of showing us the party, the producers have decided to show us forty-seven flashbacks, yet again. Can we please stop with those? They happen eight times an episode and eat up precious airtime. Like we KNOW what happened in the last episode, thanks. As Juliette and Boring Robby ignore each other, and Jake and Kelsey discuss their budding potential relationship, we get to see a glimpse of former cast member Carson! Who is now known to us as “Brandon’s friend.” Usually, the producers will bring on random people and then just never speak of them again, (shoutout Canvas, Tawni, Madisson’s sister, Pauly Paul, Ben, now VICTORIA, and many more) but this time, we get to see one. It’s kind of like seeing a ghost. Hi, Carson! You’re a brunette now! How are you doing? Where did you go? Are you okay?
With no time for childish nonsense, Alex and Chloe are hammering out business details at the Crescent Club. While making a specialty mojito, Chloe sees a video of Juliette at the Rebella party. And once Alex hears she’s there, it’s game over. He becomes genuinely enraged and immediately fires off a text to Robby. Normally I would find his reaction hilarious since it proves that he’s desperately jealous, but the text he sent contains a screenshot of Juliette confessing her love to him earlier in the day, which is just embarrassing. Boring Robby, now would be a good time to start chanting inspirational quotes while you foam at the mouth and seize, you’re going to need them.
Earth-shattering. That’s how I would describe Boring Robby’s reaction to the texts from Alex. It’s reminiscent of that scene in Stephanie Meyer’s third novel in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, when Bella accidentally lets it slip while ditching school with Jacob that she plans to become a vampire upon graduation. Jacob is shell-shocked. Although he knew this was looming, he had no idea it was happening so soon. I mean, not only would this break the treaty – remember, the Cullen clan is banned from not only killing, but also BITING any human – but this is also the girl who Jacob presumes to be the love of his life!! (Even though he hasn’t imprinted on her.) Before this show, I could only imagine his exact face when he found out Bella was going to become a filthy bloodsucker. (His words, not mine.) He even said he’d rather she be dead! Luckily, Robby’s face at this moment is all I need to visualize Jacob’s. After the soul-crushing texts, Robby runs up to Juliette to confront her. He accuses her of faking the entire relationship, then tries to prove it by asking Juliette to name her favorite moment or memory from their relationship. After Boring Robby waits in silence for a few seconds, Juliette responds, “SEX ON A PLANE! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR?” Icon!
For the record, I know Jacob’s face during that shocking scene was portrayed by Taylor Lautner in the cinematic masterpiece Eclipse, but as a self-proclaimed Twilight expert, I felt that this real-life moment of Robby Hayes actually paid homage to Jacob’s raw emotion more accurately.
Back at the Kompothecras mansion, Alyssa, Gary, Alex, and Alex’s nameless mother are drinking at 10 AM. I stand by my hypothesis that Alyssa is trying to replace Alex’s mom and bang Gary. I can think of no other logical explanation as to why she keeps thudding around Alex’s parent’s house without a bra on. It’s funny that she has time to paint on a full face of makeup, but no time to cover her nipples. As they sit down for drinks, Alyssa immediately starts talking about how Juliette is trying to “weasel her way back in” and that “she needs to back off.” What’s that? Juliette, the girl who has dated Alex for 3+ years is trying to “weasel her way back in”? That’s great, coming from the girl who got pregnant after three months of NOT EVEN DATING ALEX. No yeah, um, that’s just, great. Good insight, Alyssa.
Since Alex was abroad for his birthday, he’s decided to throw a party for Jared. Even though I’m a little mad that Alex didn’t throw his annual banger, this party provided us with a lot of content, so I’m not going to pursue a lawsuit with Gary. Earlier in the episode, we learned that Jared is a divorcé! That’s right, when Jared was in the navy, he was married to someone and got divorced after a year. Young love. Even though he’s having a fun birthday party by the beach with all of his friends, he’s fixated on getting a call from his ex-wife. Finally, she calls and we learn that she’s coming to town next week. Interesting! As they hung up, they said “I love you” to each other, and then Jared got really emotional. Also interesting! We’ll learn more next week. Stay tuned!
As Alex and Alyssa hang all over each other, you can see Juliette seething behind her Chloe’s sunglasses. She decides to go confront Alex against literally everyone’s advice, and I’m already cringing. Juliette marches up to Alex and starts trying to get him to admit, on camera, that he said he still loved her over the phone. Alex blatantly denies it (even though it’s definitely true,) and then up comes Alyssa. She immediately starts berating Juliette, saying that she’s “crazy” and “false.” I’m just laughing at how naïve Alyssa is. Poor girl. She will soon become all too aware of what a manipulative liar Alex is. Okay, “manipulative liar” is a bit of an overstatement. That makes him sound intelligent. He’s just an asshole. Either way, I’m violently triggered by the idea of my liar ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend calling me psychotic and laughing in my face. So when Juliette pushes Alex in the pool and pulls down Alyssa’s bathing suit after Alyssa throws a drink at her, I’m not mad about it! As a final touch, Juliette hurls Chloe’s now crumpled sunglasses back at her, then, as everyone is trying to escort her away from the pool, she tugs down Alyssa’s bathing suit yet again, adding a final, “boop!” Pure class. Team Juliette for life. See you on the Key next week!
