We Weren’t Born to Follow 44

Tell You a Story (of six impossible things before breakfast)

“The future,” Ayame said flatly.

Tsuna laughed nervously. They had landed back into the present, in their proper timezone, to find that only five minutes had passed. Meishi confirmed with a questioning thrill that she had seen the pink smoke but when it cleared, there had still been Tsuna and his friends when she looked across all of Namimori, in the places where she had seen them walking and moving.

Ayame had, three minutes ago, arrived in panic in search for him. Mukuro was right behind her, saying he had lost contact with Chrome who had left seven minutes earlier to meet the other girls.

It had been bad luck that this swap happened during the transition where they had been traveling to their destination that morning. No one knew exactly where the others were.

Ayame had been working herself up into a full on panic mode when she realized all the protections she had placed on Tsuna and his friends had vanished.

Tsuna himself had found him on the pathway to school. Though why he was headed to school, he had no idea since it was out for summer vacation, much less why back to Namimori Middle given he was officially transferred out.

At best guess, the past!Tsuna that the future!Tsuna had tried to summon, landed here and didn’t realize the difference and went on with his day.

“A parallel dimension’s future,” Ayame said flatly, eyes squeezed shut.

“I can’t believe I didn’t get to go,” Hana complained.

“I second this,” Mukuro said darkly.

“What was it like?” Dino asked.

“Horrible,” Kyoko said.

“Tsuna was dead, except not really,” Takeshi said. His smile was gone, allowing the upset emotions color his face.

“Future me is an asshole,” Tsuna said. “Please do not let me turn like that.”

“I’ll bite you to death if you do,” Kyoya said.

“A parallel dimension’s future where you’re Decimo and we never met,” Ayame said flatly.
