The friend Clare defended was Oritse Williams, from a band called JLS. He was actually found innocent of the rape charges. I’m not mad at Clare because I could’ve made the same mistake if a friend or family member was accused of a crime. The first reaction is usually disbelief. She made a mistake. She has and continue to advocate for a lot of great causes and is also a feminist. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. People on Twitter sent her A Lot of hate and gross messages.

Y/N has a minor speech impediment, so when one of Harry’s friends makes fun of her for it, she doesn’t know how to react. Harry does.

Y/N Really hated causing a scene. She just hated being even the smallest bit of a nuisance to everyone else the group. She was one of those people that wouldn’t even ask their waiter for ketchup because she didn’t want to bother them. Don’t get her wrong, Y/N is not shy.

She can speak her mind when it needs to be done, but for small stupid things, she didn’t think it important enough.

For example, her speech impediment. It wasn’t noticeable a lot of the time, only when she’d get too flustered or busy, talking to fast, or if she was nervous. Clutter and a stutter is what she says.

Harry had noticed it, they’d talked about it, and he said he didn’t care how jumbled or choppy her words were, he loves her no matter what. And that’s why they’re approaching a year in their relationship.

But due to both Harry and Y/N’s busy schedules, she’d only met his friends a number of times. It was mainly the band, Clare, Adam, Sarah, and Mitch, and now, a newer friend of Harry’s, Jonathan. Jeff, Harry’s manager, had introduced the two, and Harry decided why the hell not? Another friend is another friend.

Y/N sincerely didn’t think it that noticeable, her speech impediment. Harry’s band never brought it up, possibly just out of courtesy.

So, when Jonathan had said something, she was a bit taken back.

It had been just her, Harry, Clare, Sarah, and Jonathan all riding around in one of the securities cars, going out to lunch. Harry was on a break from tour, and London was always a buzzing and inviting place to relax.

Y/N was telling a silly story of how her and Harry had snuck onto a ride on the London Eye one time, giggling and talking a bit quicker than normal, happy as she remembered the amazing night.

It started when Jonathan had said, “Repeat that one more time.”

Y/N blushed a bit, repeating the words that had gotten jumbled, then continuing with her story.

“Your what?” He later piped up again.

Harry had glanced back at him through the rear view mirror, and Sarah and Clare had seen it. They’d also seen Harry’s grip tightening some on the wheel.

“Uh, th-the, the uh,” Y/N stutters, cheeks hot as she tries to remember the word, tongue twisters and stuck in the stuttering loop she absolutely despised, “Th-the c-carriage th-thing you st-stand in.”

She feels like she’s made a fool of herself.

Then, Jonathan had laughed, his next words making Harry’s vision go red.

“You sound like Porky Pig, Y/N! Learn how to talk,” He chortles, “What are you, 4 years old?”

Harry swerved the car suddenly, making everyone lean to the right from how sudden it was. It seconds until he’s pulling up to a sidewalk and unlocking the doors.

“Out,” Is all he says, voice deep and intimidating. Harry is fighting the urge to lean back and throw Jonathan physically from the car. How dare he say something that insulting to Y/N? And right in front of Harry? What did Jonathan think would happen, everyone would just along while he called Y/N porky pig?

Jonathan furrows his brows, “What?”

“I said get out.”

Jonathan scoffs in disbelief, “Mate, I was just kidding. Y/N, I was just kidding, love-“

Harry turns in his seat, eyes darkened and stern, brows furrowed and jaw clenched as he seethes, “I had half the decency t’pull ove’ instead of shoving yeh out onto the bloody street! I’m not yeh mate, Y/N is not yeh love, and y’goin’ t’get the fuck out of my car before I make you.”

There’s a silence, Harry Style quite terrifying when he gets even slightly angry. And right now, he’s fuming.

Jonathan nods some, scurrying out of the car and closing the door behind him. Harry turns back around, face still stern and nostrils flared as he speeds back onto the road. He doesn’t give one shit what paparazzi or fans could have seen that.

His girl had been insulted, and for something se can’t even control.

The car is silent, Clare and Sarah looking at each other with wide eyes. They’d become like family with Harry, knowing him to be kind and loving to everyone, even nasty paparazzi and rude fans. They’d heard he gets protective, but this was new.

Y/N gently sets her hand overs Harry’s clenched one on the steering wheel. “Hey,” She mumbles softly, “‘M fine, don’t really care what he says.”

Harry intertwines their fingers, kissing her knuckles softly, “No one’s gonna insult m’girl like that. Not when I’m around.”
