Chapter 4: The Pursued Cleric (con’t)
Serafew was a bustling town on the border between Renais and Grado.
The two nations had been allies since long ago, and Serafew had always been a symbol of that friendship. The citizens of both countries lived there with no division between them, and they were able to enjoy many benefits with each other, like trading goods freely.
Yet now, those stories were all in the past. Serafew was now under the Grado Army's control.
Eirika and the others followed a road that was just outside of town, and planned their next strategy.
When they received the report from their reconnaissance team, Seth explained to Eirika, "If we're lucky, their guard will not be very tight. A Grado general stopped here all by themself, but has already left and started moving towards a fort to the northwest."
"A general…?"
Eirika remembered her meeting with Selena in the small mountain village, and it raised her hopes. If Selena was close by, then she wanted to try meeting her again.
"Yes, a man named Glen. He rides a dragon, and rumor has it that he is very strong."
"Glen… Really? He's here?"
Eirika remembered that name. It was only once, but they had met before.
When the continent was still at peace, she'd visited the capital city of Grado together with Ephraim. General Glen was a soldier that Prince Leon trusted very much. He was still young, yet already very dignified, and Eirika was impressed but not surprised that he'd become a general of the empire's large army at such a young age.
"General Glen has already left, and the security within the town is light. When the royal palace of Renais fell, they likely considered guarding this area to be of low importance. We'll be able to put up a good fight at our current strength."
Eirika looked again at the wall around Serafew in front of them.
"It looks like it would be unlikely for us to be spotted from the west gate. Let's enter from there."
They followed Seth's plan and went around to the west side.
As they'd predicted, the security there was indeed light. They hid their weapons and dressed as merchants. Just by doing that alone, the guards said "You may pass," and waved them through as if it was an inconvenience to do so.
"That was so easy that I'm disappointed!" Franz whispered.
At that same time, a man who'd appeared from around a corner approached them.
Eirika and the others were nervous, but the man said in a weary tone, "Excuse me, there's something I'd like to ask you."
He had the face of an intellectual, and was very tall.
"What is it?" Eirika responded.
"I'm looking for someone. Have you seen a young girl with indigo blue hair?"
"Unfortunately, no…"
The man looked discouraged. He bowed his head to say "Sorry for bothering you," then left.
'The little girl must have gotten lost. Was he her father? Ever since public order started to worsen here, missing children have probably been a concern.' He must have been worried sick. Eirika felt pity for him.
'Should I break some of the soldiers off from the group to help him look for her?' She began to consider, but suddenly, she heard a loud noise come from in front of them.
"After her! Don't let her get away!" Yelled a gruff voice that came along with footsteps that were getting louder and louder.
‘What was that?’ Eirika wondered, frozen in place, when she heard someone make a threat.
"Turn yourself in, traitor!"
Then, she heard a higher-pitched, feminine-sounding voice. She couldn't make out exactly what the woman said, but  understood that she was begging desperately for something.
A rough man's voice echoed through the air again, cutting the woman off.
"Silence! If you are going to beg for forgiveness, then do it before His Majesty! I was told that if you resist, then I may execute you on the spot!"
It looked like a fight was about to break out. Even without Eirika's orders, everyone immediately unsheathed their hidden weapons.
Eirika rushed ahead with the front line. The place where all the noise was coming from was a plaza atop a staircase.
A woman with a hood covering her hair had fallen over. Judging by her clothing, she was likely a cleric serving the gods. Surrounding her were Grado soldiers.
Though she didn't know any details about what was happening, she could never allow a large group of men to surround a lone woman and try to hurt her. She probably hadn't intended to cause a commotion, but in a circumstance like this one, there was no avoiding it.
When Eirika tried to rush over to her, the cleric stood up in one quick movement.
She took advantage of the men having let their guards down, and ran over to Eirika's army.
"Are you alright?" Eirika shielded the cleric and asked.
Her feet gave out in front of Eirika, and she collapsed. "Wh… Who are you…?"
"I am a citizen of Renais. What's going on? Why are you being chased by the Grado Army?"
"You're from Renais…? Ah…!" The girl quickly put her hands together in front of her chest, showing her thankfulness to the gods. "There's something I want to tell you! Grado is…!"
However, they couldn't listen to the details at the moment. The Grado Army was coming. Eirika's army all readied themselves for battle.
The cleric quickly whispered to Eirika, "My name is Natasha. I cannot fight, but I am knowledgeable in healing magic."
"Then will you please take care of the wounded from the rear line?"
"Yes. But, before that… I want to try talking to the Grado soldiers."
"Huh…?" Eirika whirled around in surprise.
Natasha looked serious, and was watching the soldiers closing in on them.
"But they're…"
"Trying to capture me. I know. However, there is something I must tell them no matter what. If things continue on as they are now, then something terrible will happen…"
Each and every word she spoke was uttered with strong determination.
Whatever she wanted to say, it sounded serious. All Eirika’s army could do was protect her as she searched for someone who looked like they would listen to her.
It was an extremely difficult task, but Eirika had made up her mind to see it through. “Then we will be your guard. Please do not leave our sides.”
“Thank you!!”
The battle began. The Grado soldiers immediately started calling out for help, and soldiers rushed in from all four directions to provide backup.
This battle set within narrow city streets was completely different from any they’d fought before. Not only was it very difficult to use long weapons, but the horses’ and pegasi's movements were also limited.
And to make matters worse, although the area was in ruins, it was still where many local citizens made their living. They wanted to keep the damage done to the buildings at a minimum, and had to be careful at all times not to get the common people who had yet to run away involved.
While fighting this grueling battle in conditions that they were not used to, Eirika’s army slew the enemies coming at them.
Both sides fought with the intent to kill each other. It seemed nearly impossible that Natasha would find anyone that she could talk to.
Among the enemy army was one especially strong man. And not only was he strong, but he also had long, fiery red hair, and wore stylish clothing that looked nothing like what the other soldiers had on, making him stand out all the more. This made it clear that he was not a formal soldier, but a mercenary working for money.
His swordplay was, for lack of a better word, whimsical. But though he would crack an occasional joke and move as if he was playing, he always hit his target. His ability to perfectly hit his target's weak points was unparalleled. The other Grado soldiers weren’t very tough, but that one mercenary toyed with Eirika's army and made the battle difficult for them.
The mercenary lightly dodged the opponent attacking him, then landed in front of Eirika as if he was floating.
Eirika tightened her grip around her sword and shielded Natasha standing behind her.
“Do my eyes deceive me? What a beautiful swordfighter I see over there!” The mercenary said teasingly, then turned towards Eirika and swung his sword playfully.
“I’m so jealous. The Grado Army is full of filthy men. There’s not a person with taste to be found... Whoops!” He repealed Eirika’s sword with a laugh, as if he was playing a game. “You’re pretty good, aren’t you! But you still have a long way to go. Your left side is wide open.”
After they clashed swords a few more times, Eirika realized the difference in their power.
‘He’s too strong. I’m no match for him. I can’t win. He will kill me.’ She shrank back in fear.
Natasha jumped out from behind Eirika in desperation.
“Natasha…!” Eirika shrieked.
There was no way she planned to talk to this mercenary, was there? It was no use. Eirika couldn’t imagine there was a way such a person, who treated everything as if it were a game, would lend an ear to the cleric’s serious story.
The mercenary also appeared to be completely dumbfounded. He drew his sword back and muttered “Whoa, that's dangerous!”
“Do you remember me? We crossed paths while I was running earlier…”
He looked at Natasha and furrowed his brow, then nodded. “Yeah, you’re that cleric! Wait, are you the traitor!?”
“Were you hired to keep me quiet?"
"I mean… I was told that if I got rid of you, I'd receive a huge reward. That's just how the mercenary trade works, so no hard feelings."
"I do not care about what happens to me. But I want to tell you this. The current situation within the Grado Empire is not normal. If the other countries are not warned about this danger, then all light across the continent will vanish."
He looked down at Natasha apathetically. He seemed to have lost all killing intent, as his word was now drooping at his side.
However, that did not calm Eirika.
This opponent was a mercenary, meaning he was a member of a parasitic group in society who would take on any job for money, no matter how much it dirtied their hands. It was too optimistic to commit to persuading him.
"...You know, I don't care at all about Grado or the continent. No matter what you have to say, it's all the same to me."
Natasha's expression changed to one of complete determination.
The man smirked, then continued speaking. "Although I'd hate to see a beauty like you be done in by these Grado barbarians. Say, do you like to gamble?"
"Huh?" Natasha stared at him in confusion.
The man reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a small object.
"There's nothing I love more in life. ...Though I haven't a shred of luck. I always lose." The man flicked the object he'd taken out into the air with a clink.
It flipped over and over as it flew in the air, then landed back in his hand, revealing that it was a gold coin. "Let's bet on it! If you win, I will believe you."
"What…? You want me to gamble…?"
"All you need to do is choose heads or tails. So, which one am I holding?"
"...Heads… No, tails…" Natasha said weakly.
The mercenary's eyes lit up.
"Alright then, if it's tails, you win. If it's heads, then I win. The anticipation in this moment is incredible, and I can't stop chasing it. Know what I mean?"
Neither Natasha nor Eirika felt any anticipation whatsoever, rather, they felt as if their hearts would jump out of their chests.
Natasha put her hands together and whispered, "Please, gods, please…"
The mercenary slowly opened up his hand. Natasha swallowed and asked, "Which is it?"
The mercenary sounded full of himself as he answered, "The result is… tails. Like I said, I'm not lucky at all! Or wait, maybe I am? I do get to become allies with a beautiful woman like you."
"Really? You'll really join us!?"
"Yeah. If you go against a loss, then you'll upset lady luck, and you'll never win again."
Eirika couldn't believe what she was witnessing. Did a person who would leave something so important to a coin flip really exist? It was taboo for a mercenary to betray their contract. If he was captured by Grado, then he may even be executed.
But the man was entirely serious.
"The name's Joshua. Nice to meet ya. Shall we start by cleaning up around here?"
He once again took a fighting stance, returned to his usual whimsical self, then threw himself right into the thick of the battlefield. The only difference was that this time, his opponent was the Grado Army.
"Damn you, mercenary! Are you betraying us!?" Those on Grado's side noticed tha Joshua was coming towards them, and started shaking.
"Yeah, sorry about that." He said with a laugh before unleashing an attack that was frightening in both accuracy and speed.
The tide of battle reversed completely. Eirika's struggling army took back their momentum. The Grado Army, enraged that they were losing, stampeded towards Eirika's army as if they wished to bring about their own ends.
After the battle among the city streets was over, Eirika and Seth moved over towards the rear support group to check up on Natasha, as once she'd finished talking to Joshua, she'd retreated to the rear line to heal the injured.
Moulder stood up from among the wounded and approached Eirika.
When Eirika called out to him and said, "Thank you for your hard work," he laughed.
"This battle was a really tough one. Our army has a lot of injured as well."
"Oh, really…?
"But please feel at ease. They are healing very well. I might not be able to handle this much work all by myself, but the beautiful cleric is working with me."
When Eirika followed Moulder's line of sight, it led her to Natasha, waving her staff as she talked to the injured. They looked not in pain, but happy as they circled around her.
"As you can see, she's very popular. Some of the injured even ran away when I tried to heal them. They said they didn't want me, and asked her to examine them. I couldn't agree to such selfish requests, and when I forcefully healed them, they complained that they missed their chance. My my, how deplorable…"
Eirika couldn't help but laugh at Moulder's disappointment. She was worried that the rough soldiers might scare Natasha, but if that was what was actually happening, then she would be okay.
Natasha finally saw Eirika and the others and walked up to them. The worried expression she'd had on her face during battle was gone, and she was now smiling calmly. "Thank you. How can I ever express my thanks to you?"
"Are you from the Grado Empire?" Seth asked.
Natasha nodded. "I was a helper at a church within the empire."
"Then why are you being chased by Grado soldiers? Can you tell us what's going on?"
Natasha's smile vanished. It seemed that she was holding in something very serious.
She looked away from them and began to speak. "...It happened a few days ago. The bishop who served as my teacher was suddenly captured and executed. He was accused of the crime of treason… but he was framed. The emperor killed him. To silence him."
The harsh words that Natasha had managed to say shocked Eirika.
Seth also looked surprised, and responded, "To silence him?"
"Yes. Right before he died, he said this to me: 'The emperor is trying to destroy the Sacred Stones.'"
Eirika couldn't believe her ears.
Until she'd heard this, she'd thought that perhaps Natasha had happened to learn something by chance, and that's why she was being pursued. But this secret she'd told them was no such simple matter.
The Sacred Stones were known to all as the stones in which the Demon King was sealed, saving the world from his reign of terror long ago.
There were five in total, and to this very day, one was located in each of the five major nations of the continent, and were considered the most valuable treasures in all the land.
Renais of course was among the nations that housed one of the Sacred Stones. The shrine in which it was placed was guarded as the central location of their religion. The four remaining stones should each be in Grado, Frelia, Jehanna, and Rausten.
Word had it that the Grado Empire was already trying to completely destroy their stone, so the chance that they'd already destroyed it was high. And during the invasion of Renais they had likely destroyed Renais' stone as well...
"Why would the emperor do such a thing?"
Natasha shook her head sadly at Seth's question.
"I do not know. His Majesty has always been.  known for his warmth and wisdom. He is loved by both those who serve him and the people. However, ever since that day, he's been so cold that it's like he's another person… and then he devised a terrifying plan to destroy the Sacred Stones. That is what the bishop told me. He also told me that we must tell the other nations that house the Sacred Stones, for if we do not put all our strength into protecting the stones, then something terrible will happen… I tried to flee the country secretly, but the soldiers found me and started chasing me."
"So that's what's been happening…" Eirika looked at Seth.
He was staring down at Natasha, as if he was trying to see through her, with a stern look on his face.
"What do you think, Seth?"
"We cannot accept the word of someone from Grado without question. However, if what she says is true, then we cannot ignore it."
"Yes… it is a very serious matter. We must do whatever we can to stop it…" Eirika remembered her bad feeling.
The enemies waiting for them upon their path were not just Grado soldiers. The terrifying shadow of something much bigger was looming over them. Though they did not currently know what it was, right now, all they could do was continue forward.

Aramina fell in and out of consciousness after the hard fall despite Thorin’s efforts to keep her shielded from the rough landing. Though she was barely able to stand, she was pulled on her feet, getting roughly dragged along by the Goblins. Thorin noticed her head fall back and limbs go limp several times, but the Goblins disregarded this and tugged her with them, some even slapping her awake, laughing while doing so. Thorin grunted at their harsh treatment. He wished he could move to the front to support Aramina in her weak state, but he too, just like the rest of The Company, was being held back and bound.
The Company finally arrived before the Goblin king, who was sitting on his tiny throne that was crushed beneath his weight. After the Great Goblin finished his little song and received The Company’s opinions, he spoke, “Who are you?” The Goblin king started. “Spies? Thieves? Assassins?!”
“Dwarves, your malevolence,” one Goblin spoke up as the Goblin king searched among The Company, Aramina catching his eye. As soon as the king gestured to her, the Goblins pulled her to the front.
“And a Fawn! What a surprise,” the king chortled. “Now, wouldn’t she make a good little pet?” At that, three Goblins brought Aramina down on her knees, as another tied a collar-like chain around her neck, pulling her to the Goblin king’s side while she writhed around. She tried to shove the Goblins off her but all efforts were in vain. “See? Good pet!” the king mocked, tugging at Aramina’s ‘leash’. She gasped for air as the chain around her neck grew tighter with each pull, all while The Company watched in distress but could do nothing. Until..
“Do not touch her!” Thorin’s deep baritone voice echoed as he came forward into the Goblin king’s sight. Aramina looked up at Thorin, her gaze meeting his. A concerned expression was etched onto his face, but Aramina gave him a small reassuring smile.
“Well, well, well! Look who it is! Thorin! Son of Thrain, Son of Thror,” The Goblin king announced, stooping down. “King Under the Mountain!” Then the Goblin king stood to his full height, looking down at Thorin with a smug smile playing on his lips. “Oh, wait! But I’m forgetting! You don’t have a mountain. And you’re not a king..” The Company cringed upon hearing the words spill from the so-called king’s mouth. “Which makes you.. nobody, really.”
“He’s more of a king than you ever will be,” Aramina snarled, resulting in getting her collar pulled to a tighter setting. She held her chest, coughing as she felt the air get knocked out of her lungs. Thorin looked at Aramina, then back at the Great Goblin.
“Let her go, or by my oath, I will kill you all,” Thorin said through gritted teeth. The king simply laughed and leaned back into his throne, his grip still on Aramina’s leash, twiddling with it teasingly.
“I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head,” The king started. “Just a head! Nothing attached.” He smiled maliciously. “Perhaps you know of whom I speak. A pale Orc, astride a white Warg.”
Thorin looked up at the Goblin king intently, his chest rising and falling fast. “Azog the Defiler was destroyed.. He was slain in battle long ago!” His voice became shakier with each word. Could the Goblin king be telling the truth? The Great Goblin leaned in, his repulsive breath fanning against The Company’s face.
“So you think his defiling days are over, do you?” He turned to one of his minions, and with a chuckle, told it, “Send word to the pale Orc. Tell him; I have found his prize.”
Tumblr media
“Bones will be shattered! Necks will be wrung! You’ll be beaten and battered! From racks you’ll be hung..” The Great Goblin’s voice rang out, echoing against the stone walls. Aramina whimpered at both the irritating song and lack of breath. She felt her head become light, and neck grow numb. Her vision darkened and the surrounding noises became more and more faint. She was going to die.
“Aramina!”
“Lassie, can you hear us?!”
“Aramina, no!” Thorin’s voice shook her awake. She looked up at him with half-lidded eyes as he writhed around, trying to escape from the Goblin’s grasps and get to Aramina. The Goblin king looked between the two, laughing mockingly and yanked on the chains again, straining the collar around Aramina’s neck.
“Aw, she’s special to you, is she?” The Goblin guffawed, watching Thorin’s expression change into a painful one as Aramina struggled to breath, her body growing weaker by the second. “It matters not. She will die like the rest of you.” His laughing was cut short when a Goblin pulled out Orcrist, promptly throwing it on the ground and scattering away from it. “I know that sword! It is the Goblin Cleaver! The Biter! The blade that sliced a thousand necks!” The Goblin creatures surrounded The Company, jumping and pushing them to the ground. “Slash them! Beat them!” Thorin was especially whipped, and tackled with a dagger getting pointed to his neck. “Cut off his head!”
A blast of light, followed by a gust of wind knocked the Goblins off, stunning them briefly. In the center of the clearing smoke, there Gandalf stood. “Take up arms. Fight!” When the Dwarves were out of their bonds and got ahold of their weapons, it was over for the Goblins. Left and right, they were slain mercilessly. As soon as Thorin got on his feet, he immediately made his way to Aramina. Thorin’s breath got caught in his throat as he feared the worst had happened. He kneeled by Aramina’s side, picking her up in his broad arms.
“Aramina!” The chains around her neck were shattered in the explosion, but she didn’t stir. She laid almost lifeless in his hold, if it wasn’t for the slow rise and fall of her chest. “Aramina, wake up!” Despite the fight raging around him, Thorin didn’t leave Aramina until she showed any sign of consciousness. When she did, Thorin let out a sigh of relief. Her eyes fluttered open, instantly falling on Thorin. “Don’t scare me like that.”
“Excuse me,” she coughed, still regaining her strength. “I almost died! But hey, it’s good to know you have feelings.”
Thorin couldn’t help but crack a smile. Aramina was back. “Can you walk?” Aramina’s eyes left Thorin’s face, drifting away to the battle behind him.
“Guess I don’t have a choice.” At that, Thorin picked her up as she clung to him weakly.
“Stay close.”
“I can handle myself, Thorin. I’m not a baby,” Aramina claimed, despite her staggering and clumsiness. Oh yes, Aramina was back and still as snarky as ever. Thorin rolled his eyes at her.
“Be quiet! You may act like an ass later but first, let’s work on getting out of here.”
The duo fought side by side, protecting and backing up one another despite having a nasty argument the same day.
“And to think you wanted me gone not long ago,” Aramina said with a grunt while beheading several Goblins all in one swing.
“If you’ve forgotten,” Thorin started, still effortlessly fighting off the crowd of Goblins. “You were threatening to kill me, so who do you think is in the wrong?”
“I like to think I had a good reason to after your unfair treatment with the Hobbit--!” Aramina spun around to see Thorin on the ground, two small Goblins tackling him. She kicked the Goblins off into the depths below them and helped Thorin up. “Don’t worry; you come from a strong line of lunatics, your majesty. You’ll be fine.” Thorin grumbled at her remark, but brushed her off as they ran side by side, killing any and every Goblin in their path. Aramina raised her dagger at one particular Goblin, until said Goblin was pushed off into the cave below them by Thorin. “Hey, that was my kill, you numbskull!”
“Hm, such poison from a pretty mouth,” Thorin mused, causing Aramina to furrow her brows in annoyance, despite the blush forming on her face. Thorin noticed the blush on her pale skin, causing a small, smug smile to play on his lips despite the situation and clashing around them.
“Oh, don’t let this fuel your ego,” Aramina huffed, lunging forward to kill off the Goblins and clear The Company’s path. “My face is only red because you’re making me mad!”
“It’s not good to lie to yourself,” Thorin called from behind. Aramina scoffed.
“Keep up, old man!”
Thorin growled, running after Aramina, determined to ‘win’ the race and establish his dominance instead of being treated like a kid playing a game. But he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t entertained and amused by Aramina’s childlike yet headstrong attitude. “I do not deem that fair! If I knew you were fully capable of running, I wouldn’t have helped you up!” The Company kept their pace as they ran through the Goblin tunnels, trusting that Gandalf knew the way out. The Company, especially Kili & Fili noticed the change of atmosphere between Aramina and Thorin considering they fought side by side, literally flirting while doing so. They were sure going to tease him for it afterwards.
Just when they thought they had got away, the Great Goblin king stopped them in their tracks, blocking their escape.
“You thought you could escape me?” He pushed Gandalf back with his scepter, “What’re you going to do now, wizard?!” Without giving Gandalf the chance to react, Aramina lunged forward and in one swift motion, kicked the Goblin king back and sliced his sagging throat open. The Goblin king paused, “That’ll do it.” His body collapsed onto the bridge, his weight bringing it down. The Company hung on tight as they rode the broken platform down the cave at an immense speed, hitting the bottom of the cave with a hard impact, yet miraculously surviving without any broken bones.
“Well, that could have been worse!” Bofur exclaimed, shortly before the Goblin king’s body piled on top of them. “Oh, you’ve got to be joking me!” The weight of the Goblin king’s dead body and debris kept them down briefly, until the sight of a Goblin army charging at them shook them awake. “Gandalf!” The Company fought their way out of the rubble, turning to Gandalf. “There’s too many of them! We can’t possibly fight them all off!”
“Only one thing will save us.. Daylight!” The Company hurried out of the cave, but Thorin stayed behind to look for Aramina under the mess. He eventually found her small figure and pulled her out.
“You shouldn’t have done that,” Thorin said, referring to the Goblin king. Aramina just scoffed in response.
“I was fully capable of kicking his ass. You needn’t worry about me.”
“Aramina, don’t be a fool. You’re bleeding!” Aramina got to her feet and looked down, where the bloody outline of a shallow gash ran along her ribcage to her abdomen.
“I’m fin--”
“Would you listen to me for a second?!”
“It’s been a second!”
They paused their petty argument, looking up at the Goblins getting nearer and nearer.
“Do you trust me?”
Aramina gulped. “Yes.” Thorin swept Aramina off her feet, securing her tightly in his arms as he carried her out the Goblin tunnels, running after The Company. Aramina couldn’t help but smile. “This is new.” Thorin rolled his eyes at her.
“Don’t get used to this, Aramina. We still have plenty to sort out.”
“Oh, be quiet. You don’t need to act so brash all the time,” Aramina huffed. “I try to lighten the mood and you still manage to hold a grudge against me!”
“You’re hurt, Aramina! I do not understand what’s so relieving about that!”
“Well, I’m alive, aren’t I?” The two kept quiet after that as they approached The Company, who noticed Aramina in Thorin’s arms. They wanted to smile and make a joke about it, until they realized Aramina was hurt. Thorin set her down on a rock and called Oin over. “Hold still, this may hurt,” he warned. Aramina braced herself, but the wound didn’t hurt as badly as she thought it would. Thorin came forward to talk to Aramina as soon as Oin was finished cleaning and patching her wound up.
“I would take back what I said in the cave,” Thorin apologized sincerely, a guilty expression crossing his face. “I realize I had gone too far with my words. Forgive me, Aramin--” Aramina threw her small arms around Thorin’s slightly larger figure, engulfing him in a tight hug. She pulled away shortly after to get a good look at Thorin, a small smile playing on her lips.
“I would say the same.. T-Thank you for saving my life.. Even after I threatened to take yours,” she stammered. “Well, I mean, I never would have killed you over a petty argument in the first place--!” Thorin cut her off with a laugh at her awkwardness. Aramina pursed her lips, huffing. “Well, I’m glad I was able to squeeze a laugh out of you. You should do it more often-- I mean you should laugh more often! You know you’ll get forehead creases if you’re always brooding!”

BANGTAN – TAEHYUNG (Duke), JUNGKOOK (General) NAMJOON (Philosopher/Astronomer) YOONGI (Advisor to King) JIMIN (Duke) HOSEOK (Duke) JIN (Stable Boy)
BRIEF PLOT OUTLINE – Reader is part of a country which is been invaded by the Emperor of the boys Kingdom. (Places need names). During an attack of a village that the reader lives in she is captured. Jungkook was leading that attack and found her hiding in the stables. Reader is the daughter of the leader of that region. Reader is known to have helped her father in many excursions. They capture her and bring her for questioning in the castle. Reader is tortured hoping that information could be taken from her. Reader knows nothing. King orders her execution but Namjoon defies it saying the stars have something in plan for her and they may use her as bait to draw in her father (who fled before the attack or wasn’t there). Yoongi is completely against this. But reader is now sentenced to do stable work / slavery where she meets Jin. They befriend each other quickly – Jin does not know where reader comes from. One day Jungkook needs service on his horse and Reader has to do it. Jungkook causes trouble and his friend, Taehyung (the Duke of some Court/place) is there with him as well as Jimin and Hoseok. Jimin takes the reader’s side while Jungkook and Taehyung are assholes (Only Jungkook knows where she is from).  Later that day a maid is dismissed from work (reason unknown yet) and there’s a bit of chaos as they need servers since the main dukes and general are here celebrating a holiday with the King. Reader is randomly chosen by the Chef and is forced to serve. At dinner Jungkook, Yoongi and Namjoon are shocked. King pays little attention to her. Crown Prince keeps on staring at Reader. That dinner is more of a conference meeting event and the Reader hears everything. Start’s to think on how to destroy the King so she can revive her Kingdom. Leads to Yoongi finding her in the Accords (place where important documents about the King and his kingdom are kept) but Namjoon comes to her rescue. Jungkook is also suspicious of her but Taehyung, Hoseok and Jimin take her side. She begins to build a relationship with those three but she finds one of the King’s men (along with the Second Queen) planning an assassination of the Crown Prince. Reader happens to help prevent the death of the crown prince. Jungkook and Yoongi even more suspicious of her. Reader builds relationship with Namjoon and relationship with Taehyung turns romantic. (Now she is a permanent server no longer a stable girl).  Not sure where it goes from there.
End Game: Unknown (Either Taehyung or Jungkook – so either the boy who’s been by her side forever or the asshole who became her lover after they stopped being enemies)

CHAPTER ONE – NO MAN UNDER THE SKY LIVES TWICE
The air carries the pungent stench of death, within it lies the tired breathe of horses, the echoes of metal meeting metal in furious clashs and the faint glimmer of metallic blood. Dust dances in the air he breathes, coating his lungs in a thick layer of earth and smoke. Catani sits beside him, glistening sliver in the harsh sunlight of the Ennia lands. Her sliver body is caked in scarlet blood, slipping slowly off the sharp tip that’d been driven into the bodies of thousands. Her owner glances down, dark hair soaked in sweat clinging onto his forehead. His face is young but time and fighting has begun to show themselves in the deep chocolate eyes he possesses. His gaze stayed on the sword, ignoring the moving world around. The voices of his men chattering and bickering away as they assembled sticks and logs to create a fire fell on his deaf ears. He didn’t hear the crunch of dry grass as a man cloaked in midnight blue dashed towards his huddled figure. Until the man stood before him, panting heavily as sweat dripped from his sliver beard.
“General Jeon, there has been a message for you. From the capital.” The man says the word capital in a hushed whisper, as if the word alone could get him killed.
“What is it.” The boy doesn’t ask, his tone is a clear and solid command. His gaze doesn’t shift from the bloodied weapon either. Instead fingers painted in blue bruises and ivory scars find themselves twisting idly around a tall piece of grass.
The man tuts, lifting his hands to rip the head wrap from his sweltering skull. Hair the colour of moonlight tumbles from the intricate wrap design, falling like a waterfall down his back. “You’re not even going to look at me huh. Little rapscallion.”
The boy laughs. It’s short and brief and it comes out his throat like a cough instead.
“I didn’t need to look at you,” His fingers rise and point idly to the shoes the man was wearing. Curved pointed tips which reach for the skies. Capital shoes – not army boots. “Nobody else wears those bothersome things, Mordecai.”
The man huffs in reply, flopping down beside the boy. His heavy navy cloak hits the ground with a thud, spreading itself around the man’s frail body.
“Alright then Jungkook. But I wasn’t lying when I said there was a message from the capital.”
“What is it.” There’s a slight twinge of impatience in his voice. Reasonable because his arms and legs ached with pain. Tearing through bodies with a sword as heavy as Catani was wasn’t not as easy as he made it seem.
“His Majesty wants you to go forward into Gardenia tomorrow. It’s one of the last few villages we haven’t conquered yet. His Majesty is certain that the princess is there.”
Jungkook sighs, ripping the leaf of grass from its roots and tossing it into the heavy air, now tainted with smoke and fiery orange hue of the setting sun.
“My men haven’t rested for three days. Last night we had to deal with a rabid Kroni attacking our horses. We’re not at all ready for a new advancement. We need at least a day’s rest Mordecai.”
His eyes are on the elderly man, laced with lassitude and dispiritedness. His whole body sagged underneath the heavy armour, almost like he was caving in. Mordecai looked at the boy, yes he was a boy; more the half the men he controlled were his seniors. But he was a boy nonetheless. A boy who’d seen blood and fire. A boy who’d narrowly escaped death and swiftly handed out ones. He may have had the body of an adolescent man but his mind was as old as his father’s once before he’d passed away.
Jungkook always reminded Mordecai of his father.
The older man turned away, fixing his gaze on the blazing fire that’d been erected before them. The heat from the flames combined with Ennia’s natural furnace the sun (which refused to stop giving heat even after it went down) the world was an incinerator.
“You speak to me as if I was the King. I cannot change orders Jungkook. I can only deliver them.”
“I wish you hadn’t delivered this one then.” He’s up, black boots crunching leaves into dust beneath them. His strides are lengthy. His lean tall stature is covered in a black coat, the golden intricate insignia of a King’s General engraved on the back. Dry wind rips at his clothing, ruffling the brown mane his possess. He looks exactly like his father in Mordecai’s eyes.
“Jungkook-ah,” Mordecai says to no one. “There are many messages I wish I hadn’t delivered.” His sigh is carried by the wind to the ears of the young General. “So many.”
+
You can’t sleep. The night air surrounding you is abuzz with the sounds of glowing dragonflies skittering over the slumbering river beneath your feet. The water is cold to touch, slipping over your nimble fingertips like velveteen. The world is silver and gold; cool moonlight meeting the warmth of the lanterns scattered carelessly around the pathway.
The calm breeze whispers stories in your ears, ruffling the flimsy white nightgown you’d adorned when you’d slipped into the warmth of the blanket back in your room. It hadn’t occurred to you that a jacket would be necessary when the night had called you awake.
The fabric is rough beneath your fingertips, completely unlike the smooth satin dresses that’d your wear in the palace. Here, satin was a thing of treasure. Not one person wore it.
You’re kicking the ground beneath absently, the familiar knot of resent and anger towards your father forming in the pit of your stomach. Why did he have to leave you here? Of all places this tiny village couldn’t have been the best choice. He could have sent his men to collect you when that bastard Ryo attacked. He could have – but he didn’t.
A sigh slips out of your mouth and you spin around, trying in vain to get rid of that feeling that’s been building up in your bones and blood since the attack. The world was a kaleidoscope of grey and black and silver and gold. Glistening rocks surrounded you, shimmering under the glow of the moon. Your shoes skidded across the wet surface beneath, but because of the insane training you’d received from Myrna your balance didn’t falter.
Despite this attempt, the questions that drew you from sleep tumble in your head.
Why did he leave you?
Why didn’t he attack back?
Where did he go?
Is he even alive?
Why Gardenia?
Why?
“Y/N!”
The world is shook from you grasp and you come to a halt, frantically searching the dark trees for the voice which called your name.
“Y/N,  why aren’t you in bed?” The voice come from behind you.

so here’s another drabble/oneshot/thing from the silvaze pirate-princess au where silver is absolutely ooc but it’s ok because it’s an au. and he’s still a dork. hope ya enjoy
Silver rushed through the forest leading to the palace, kicking up grasses behind him with each stride forward. He held fast to his cap, looking every which way with frantic eyes, licking his lips chapped by dehydrating panic; he wasn’t used to this feeling. The kingdom of Sol was under attack - the life of his beloved princess was in jeopardy, without a doubt - and Silver never knew anything of it. He scolded himself each time that thought raced to the front of his conscience, for surely he could have intercepted such a plan had he stayed alert.
Through the passing spaces between trees, he soon found the despicable silhouette of fighting in the distance. Far too near in the distance for his liking, actually - one of the invading phalanxes had already advanced to the palace’s facade. Silver cursed beneath his breath, and gained a subconscious burst of acceleration once Blaze’s balcony was in his sights. It was as if all his nightmares had decided to rear their wretched heads on Sol’s shores.
After leaping over the shrubbery lining the foundation of the palace, Silver scaled the vines leading up to the princess’s balcony with an intensity he had never before employed. He moved as if he were under the eye of an archer - and perhaps he was, he thought - that would be the most typical of deaths. Sweat was pouring past his eyes, to the ridge of his muzzle, down his neck, saturating the frills of his coat and the fur beneath it. For a moment, he believed that the princess would be forced to tend to him once he reached her chambers. He also possessed enough self-awareness to laugh at such irony.
As for Princess Blaze, Silver had expected to find her immediately - surely she would be perched behind her window, gazing out with a somber contour to her lips as the enemy’s siege crept closer. He would be able to comfort her before speaking of his plan, and that would soften her to the idea of it. On the contrary, of course, she was nowhere to be found, and Silver had to venture into the hallways to stand any chance of escaping with her.
“Princess!” Silver whispered sharply, scuttering along the carpet so that his boots wouldn’t alert anyone. He peered around each corner he came to, fearing the inevitability that he would be mistaken for an intruder, or some senseless notion. He raised his voice as his search dragged on, leading him to duck behind tables and chairs whenever paranoia played its tricks.
Silver soon found himself on one of the grand hallways, weaving behind columns that overlooked the barren dining hall several stories below. There was simply nothing to hide from. He seated himself to catch his breath, and after he had done so without any disturbance, he decided that the residence portion of the palace was empty. Still, he checked the handle of the cutlass at his belt, and looked down either side of the hall before venturing to one of the tall windows before him. He winced at the faint clashing of swords and shields; Sol was never a kingdom built for war. Powerful, it was, but only for the peace it stood for. There were no battlements, no gatehouse, nothing separating it from the people it resided over. Even a mere pirate could roam its interior in a time of such crisis. The town, only a few hundred meters away, was being ransacked - by nightfall it would be reduced to a pile of dust. Silver checked the leverage he had on his weapon once more.
Perhaps the princess had already evacuated, or had fallen back to the barracks - no. Silver’s hopes deceived him not. Blaze was more likely to be outside fighting alongside her people than on a ship sailing elsewhere. That thought was troubling enough to force him back to his search, and down another adjacent path.
Silver passed another corner, and his heart leaped to his throat when he heard a footstep behind him. Before he could even flinch, an arm wrapped tight around his head, exposing his neck to the cool edge of a blade. His shock was paralyzing, though he was only in danger for a moment - he knew that boiling touch on his cheek.
“Princess!” Silver’s cap slid off his head, exposing his eccentric quills. “My, how glad I am to see you!”
Blaze retracted her smallsword. Her brow was as sharp as her tone. “What business have you in here?”
“Oh, I thought I’d stop for tea.” Silver retrieved his headwear, grabbed Blaze’s hand, and tried to pull her in the direction from which he came. “What business have you alone?”
She submitted a few steps toward him before standing her ground. “They wouldn’t let me fight. Everyone is either outside or guarding the entrances.”
“Well, they overlooked your balcony.”
“Enough! Unhand me!”
“Where are the emeralds?”
Blaze tugged on the strap of her haversack. “With me.”
“Excellent! Forward thinking! So we can leave?”
“No!” Blaze asserted, throwing Silver’s hand down.
“Princess, I beg of you-”
“Out of the question!” she intervened, walking back to her post. “I will never abandon my people. The only way these emeralds are leaving Sol is if they’re stained with my blood.”
Silver bounced in front of her, eyes fixed on the end of the hall. “Princess, listen to me, I’ve docked at the kingdom’s rear-”
Blaze crossed her arms, and turned her head in disgust. “And what importance does that hold now? I have no time for your crude innuendos.”
“My ship is behind the palace! We’re outnumbered, but we’re not surrounded. We can escape!”
“Are you dense? I’ve told you no!”
“Princess, I admire your bravery,” Silver admitted, resting his hands on her shoulders, “and your loyalty to your people is unquestioned. But if those emeralds are stolen, you won’t have anything left to be loyal to! You can’t fend off an entire army!”
“I can die trying.”
“We don’t have much time! Princess, look at me.” The albino slouched into her line of sight, and his voice shook as he held her gaze. “It’s difficult to think now, I know, but you have to trust me. You don’t understand how badly I need you. If anything happened to you, I could never go on.” He pointed behind her. “They could never go on. You know this. Live to fight another day, my love, I beg you. Come with me.”
Blaze hesitated, but acquiesced with a sigh. They hurried back to the princess’s chambers, for that provided the most direct escape, though Silver continued to spout wit as if all was well. The true gravity of the situation didn’t intrude their reality until the enemy intruded the palace; the couple jumped back when a harsh crash sounded below them, followed by loud shouts echoing off the high walls. Tears filled Blaze’s sight, blurring the scene as Silver led her onward. There was nothing left standing between her home and utter disaster.
The princess was numb until her feet hit grass. Even then, she stumbled forward at Silver’s plea, reaching for her sword that she had dropped inside among all the commotion. For the first time in her memory, she felt powerless. Fire alone couldn’t melt all that armor. Her mind raced from regret to acceptance and back again, stomping over any emotion disgraceful enough in between. She couldn’t decide if death would have cleansed her of these thoughts anyway.
Blaze snapped out of her musing when they were approached by a few armored knights, ones clearly not allied with Sol, and ordered to halt. They identified the princess with a stark confidence. Her stomach sank - surely now she would not only die a brutal death, but one of a coward as well. She turned to blame Silver for this, and was shocked to find him laughing.
“My gods,” Silver began, staring the knights down without a trace of trepidation, “what flattery to be mistaken for royalty! Are both of our costumes so convincing, or is it only my partner?”
Blaze glanced down. Perhaps such duplicity would have been more convincing if she had her cloak - she sported a frilled blouse and tights, hardly befitting of an exaggerated royal get-up. The knights seemed unmoved, and they made it obvious by pointing their swords at the couple.
Still, Silver pursued with his game. “Gentlemen, please, we are but actors from the local theater! We have no hand in this fight. We will leave you to your business.” He turned to walk away.
One of the knights advanced, poking Silver’s neck with the tip of his sword. A harsh voice rushed through the slits of his mask. “Our king will be the judge of that.”
Another weapon was thrust close to the princess, and Silver rolled his eyes. “Yes, of course, I’m sure his Majesty will be thrilled by the capture of two peasants.” His eyes shifted to Blaze. “How laughable it will be, when you return home under the claim you’ve arrested the princess, and you present to your king a man in make-up instead. I’ll make plans to attend your execution.”
Blaze shot daggers at Silver, but realized his cruelty was part of the show. She spoke not, for she knew her voice would ruin the illusion, and nodded at the knights. The most vocal of them lifted his mask, and squinted at the princess’s frame, taking particular note of her flat chest. Blaze stared into his eyes with defiance until he was finally convinced, and all the knights turned back toward the palace with a cry. Blaze touched the bag at her side, relieved to feel the emeralds inside it, and was pulled by Silver back to their escape route. She followed him in silence.
Blaze was greeted with bows and hugs from Silver’s crew once she was helped onto the ship. They set off as soon as the anchor was hoisted; they were safe from the violence, and the wind was in their favor. It was only the princess and the captain who did not celebrate; the couple stood solemnly at the stern, gazes fixed on the palace as the madness shrank in the distance. Blaze placed her hand over her bag once more.
“I am sorry, princess,” Silver admitted, “I wish I would’ve gotten here sooner.” She gave him no response, and he was certain why. “Oh, princess, please forgive me. Surely you know that you’re the fairest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.” He ran his hand along her side before sliding it up to her chest. “It was but a ploy to save our heads.”
“That does not trouble me.” She lied, but for once she was grateful for Silver’s deceitful nature. She removed his hand from her breast, but didn’t let go of it. “I simply fear for my people.”
Silver leaned his head against Blaze’s. “Aye, my love, but life is far too short to live fearing the worst. May we return to a kingdom strengthened by adversity. In any event, the emeralds are in the hands of their rightful owner.” He pressed his lips to her muzzle. “And she is safe with me.”
“Thank you, Silver.” Blaze lowered her eyes at a realization, and tightened her grip on his hand. “I don’t believe I could do without you, either.”

Chapter 26
Kai’s POV:
While Chanyeol and Lindsey are training, I couldn’t help but feel terrible for what is going to happen, I mean we only got lucky with the last battle of the Red Force, we are defenseless against on whats coming in the future so I hope when that day comes Lindsey and Chanyeol better be careful with their ‘personal needs’ because I have a feeling if Lindsey is going to be pregnant and these guys are going to be here when she’s on the verge of giving birth.
I asked, “Will they feel another life growing inside of Lindsey?” “Whoa, Lindsey did not announce that she’s pregnant though,” said Baekhyun. I glared at him and said, “Use your head, idiot, this is serious.” “I just came over here so I don’t know what you are talking about,” said Baekhyun.
“Then its pointless to tell you on what’s going on inside my mind,” I told him. Xiumin said, “I doubt that they would sense that inside of her, they are not that clever.” “True, I mean once again we got very lucky with the ones we defeated,” I said, “How am I useful when my only power is to teleport?”
“Distraction, confusion, and if Lindsey was to be on the verge of giving birth, you can teleport her to the Suju pack,” said Xiumin. I said, “Or she can have the power of Time Control again to turn back time and go when she did it with Chanyeol and put protection on him to avoid that.”
“She can always ask Tao to do that,” said Sehun. I agreed, “I didn’t think of that to be honest.” The guys that just joined our talking circle has no idea what myself, Xiumin, and Sehun are talking about which is somewhat good but I have a feeling that Suho already knows.
Then we saw Chanyeol and Lindsey finished their training, all because Lindsey’s fire color changed from red to white and black. Her training is almost complete, but she can do everything herself because Lindsey is a very hardworking woman I’ll give her that.
I walked up to them and asked, “Is everything alright?” I felt a very bad tension between these two. Wait a moment, are they having their very first argument or fight against each other. I looked at the others and they have no idea what’s going on, then I asked, “What’s going on you two?”
Nothing, weird, usually they say something, I just stood there awkwardly, its very hot here, I couldn’t help but yell, “YOU TWO!!! SNAP OUT OF IT!!!” That somewhat cooled them down because they were now looking at me, now I am screwed, their eyes are fire red.
That explains a lot of this intense situation, I asked, “Are you guys fighting about something? Maybe your first date in years?” That got their full attention, Chanyeol said, “We haven’t planned our first date yet, idiot.” “Oh, that’s right,” I said.
Their focus is right back at each other, I mentally asked on what’s going on, then her majesty, the Tree of Life, answered, “They are practicing on fighting when the Red Force arrives.” I can only hear her in my head which is good, then that explains a lot and said outside of my mind, “I’ll leave you guys alone.”
“Thank you,” said Lindsey. Then something hit me, it’s like everytime they look at me it feels like they are having their first argument but it’s not, though it feels like it was. I couldn’t help but look back and thought to myself if this is even worth it this time.
I also couldn’t help but say this out loud to them:
Die, kill, fight, shout This is not a war
Clash, hit, take sides, fight This is not a game
They looked back at me and the intense pressure just went away, Lindsey just looked down and Chanyeol was still looking at me with angry eyes. I screwed up, big time, I couldn’t help myself but it needed to be said. I shouted at them, “What has gone into you two?”
They both looked at each other and back at me, Chanyeol asked, “What are you talking about?” “Look at yourselves for a moment, you were burning each other!” I shouted. They quickly looked at themselves in the mirror and instantly felt bad.
Chanyeol said, “I didn’t even realize this.” “Chanyeol, you were this close of burning her to death,” I said. I looked over to Lindsey and she was heavily breathing, the pain started to settle in her thankfully I pointed that out because Yixing is on his way to heal her.
Chanyeol said, “Well it’s safe to say she’s capable on training on her own.” “That’s good just remember not to burn her to crisp,” I said to him. He looked at me and said, “I’ll remember real quick if she brings it up in an argument.”
“Great, that’s a card that she can always use to chill yo ass down,” I said. When Lindsey felt better, we saw her take off, I followed behind her because I was like when I sense someone new approaching.
Normal POV:
Kai and myself were running to whoever mistakenly crossed our territory, we instantly went to our wolf forms and we ran faster. Then we saw a lone wolf, looking terrified and lost, Kai told me, “Let’s leave this one alone.” I heard him walking away then I walked forward to comfort the lost one.
When I approached it, I asked, “Are you lost?” “I’m sorry for crossing your territory, I was looking for my pack and got distracted when I felt a fire going on and I thought it was my pack cooking something because I’m straving,” said the wolf.
I noticed that this wolf is a pup, I can’t leave this pup all by himself, so I asked, “May I know your name, dear?” “My name is Jeon Jungkook,” he said, “My pack calls me Jungkook or Kookie.” “I like Kookie but I’ll call you Jungkook if you want,” I said.
I led Jungkook to base so he has somewhere to stay and his pack can look for him on their own, I’m not letting Jungkook go all by himself, he’s too young for this dangerous woods we all live in. Kai saw who I brought and was not questioning on what I was doing for when he saw a size difference between Jungkook and myself.
Jungkook is tiny compared to the rest of us, he’s not fully grown yet, Suho saw and also did not question me. Perks of being a woman and all, I led Jungkook into my home and we both turned into our human forms. I fed Jungkook something to eat other than feeding him meat, I gave him some fruit and water.
He ate and drank on what I gave him, then he said, “You don’t have to take care of me, miss Lindsey.” “Please just call me Lindsey,” I told him, “and of course I’m going to take care of you, just until your pack comes and finds you. No way am I letting you go out there alone in the woods where things can harm you.”

I feel like this song is very important. Especially here on tumblr. Where cyber-bullying and cyber-harassment happens all too often.
EXO - MAMA
(”Mama” is an old Korean term. It means roughly “your majesty”. People speculate that the song is referring to Mother Nature)
Translation of lyrics (from azlyrics dot com):
Careless, careless. Shoot anonymous, anonymous. Heartless, mindless. No one. who care about me? It feels like I'm turning away as I have lost it There's no choice but to hold it in Though I shut my eyes Your Majesty! Now answer me and tell me Why people have changed Has there even been A beautiful time before? They forgot how to love And lost their heart to care They're busy living with their Backs turned on each other The mask of anonymity hides The jealous eye filled with murderous intent Though they see the end, they're still hungry Now are you satisfied? Why won't we look each other in the eye anymore? Why won't we communicate? Why won't we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again Please say that we could change things If we wanted, Your Majesty Your Majesty At some point, we have voluntarily Trapped ourselves in a smart prison We base our personalities from A digital world made of 0s and 1s There's no life, emotion Or warmth, but just garbage language A desolately rolling meadow Loneliness adds as the days go by We have to be humans Because we get scars yeah We meet, hold hands, feel, Laugh and cry together We resemble one another and we are connected But if you want to turn it back Why won't we look each other in the eye anymore? Why won't we communicate? Why won't we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again Please say that we could change things If we wanted, Your Majesty Your Majesty Turnback! Die, kill, fight, shout. This is not a war. Help us mamamama Mamamama turn back. Help us realize mamamama Mamamama rolling back. Clash, hit, take sides, fight. This is not a game. Help us mamamama Mamamama mama turn back Yeah.. Careless, careless. (Your Majesty) Shoot anonymous, anonymous. (Your Majesty) Heartless, mindless. (Your Majesty) No one. Who care about me? (Your Majesty) If only we can all be thankful For the blessed days that grant us life If only we can make new relationships Rather than broken hearts Having a joyful love altogether If only we can all smile together Why won't we look each other in the eye anymore? Why won't we communicate? Why won't we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again Please say that we could change things If we wanted, Your Majesty Your Majesty Careless, careless. About the Characters; Intro; Ch19

Chapter 18
When everything got quiet, the guys were seeing me kneeling down to the Spirit of the Tree of Life. Suho asked, “What is she doing?” “Shh,” said Luhan, “She’s about to do something.” Luhan was right, I was going to do something.
This is what I started to do:
Careless, careless, Shoot Anonymous, Anonymous Heartless, Mindless No one, who care about me It feels like I’m turning away as I have lost it I have to hold it in, though I shut my eyes
Then Baekhyun joined in:
Your Majesty, now answer me, why have people changed? Has there ever been a beautiful time before? They forgot how to love and lost their heart to care. They’re busy living with their backs turned.
Then the others joined in with us:
The mask of anonymity hides, the jealous eye filled with murderous intent, Though they see the end, they’re still hungry, Now Are you satisfied? Why won’t look each other in the eye anymore? Why won’t we communicate?  Why won’t we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again. Please say that we could change things if we want. Tell me, Mama, Mama.
Then Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Tao, and Kris only did these parts:
At some point, we have voluntarily trapped ourselves in a small prison,
We base our personalities from a digital world made of 0’s and 1’s,
There’s no life, emotion or warmth,
but just garbage language a desolately rolling meadow.
Then Kyungsoo and the rest of us joined in again:
Loneliness adds as the days go by We have to be humans because  we can get only scars,  we meet, hold hands, feel, laugh and cry together,  we resemble one another and we connect but if you want to turn it back.
Why won’t we look each other in the eye anymore? Why won’t we communicate? Why won’t we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again Please say that we could change things if we want Tell me, Mama, Mama.
Then Kai, Sehun, Lay, Luhan, Tao, Xiumin, and myself did a dance break. Then Sehun said, “Turn back.” Then Kai did something I never witnessed before.
Kai did this all by himself:
Die, kill, fight, shout, this not a war!
Us: Help us Mama, Mama turn back, Help us realize Mama, Mama rolling back
Clash, hit, takes sides, fight, This is not a game! Help us Mama, Mama turn back.
Careless, Careless (Kai: Mama) Shoot Anonymous, Anonymous (Kai: Mama) Heartless, Mindless (Kai: Mama) No one who care about me (Kai: Mama)
Suho and Baekhyun only sang:
Suho: If only we can all be thankful, for the blessed days that grant us life. Baekhyun: If only we can make new relationships, joyful love rather than broken hearts, if only we can smile together!
Then we finished it off with:
Why won’t we look each other in the eye anymore? Why won’t we communicate? Why won’t we love? We shed tears at the painful reality once again Please say that we could change things if we want Tell me, Mama, Mama
Careless, careless Shoot anonymous, anonymous Heartless, mindless No one who care about me
We finally got it out of our chests because she was smiling of how close we all had become. She said, “Now all we need is the 2 to finally be married.” Chanyeol and I looked at her, Chanyeol said to her, “We are taking things slow.” “I understand, I will wait until the day finally comes true,” she said.
Then she disappeared, I walked around the tree and saw 2 beautiful houses, I called out, “Hey guys come look at this. It’s beautiful.” They did, Baekhyun said, “Whoa, it’s so beautiful.” “I wonder if it was made for us,” said Suho.
The Tree said, “Well of course it is, you goofball.” “Oh, thanks,” he said. I heard her laughing at him, we checked out the houses and it looks like they were filled in with our stuff. The 1st house we went inside in was filled with the guys’ stuff, the 2nd house had my stuff, Chanyeol’s stuff, Kai’s stuff, and Xiumin’s stuff.
I smiled at the thought of being together with the EXO pack, does this mean we were destined to meet? I thought. I looked at Chanyeol and asked, “Do you think that our paths crossed were meant to meet?” “I guess so, I never felt anything else but that ever since I met you,” said Chanyeol.
I hugged him tight, then we walked outside, Suho asked, “What was inside there?” “Mine and Chanyeol’s stuff,” I told him, “Also Kai’s stuff and Xiumin’s stuff.” “Oh sweet,” said Kai. Xiumin said, “It’s like this area is a safe haven for us.”
“Indeed,” said the Tree, “It was here all along waiting for you 13 to live here.” “So, are there any other packs that we should worry about?” asked Suho. The Tree said, “Don’t worry about that now, my sweet child. Be happy that you have been reunited with Lindsey Sterling.”
“Right, sorry,” said Suho. Chanyeol and I were very happy to be together, I always want to know what other packs are out there. Chanyeol sees the curious look on my face, then said, “We can go search for any packs out there if you want.” “Can we bring Xiumin and Kai with us?” I asked.
“Why not? I like the idea,” said Chanyeol. Kai and Xiumin were talking with the others, leaving myself and Chanyeol alone, it feels nice to be alone with this giant puppy. I sat up, listening to the sound of something walking on our direction.
Chanyeol was napping, I got Kai with me to find out on who is here, I almost attacked the creature who happens to be a friendly rabbit looking for carrots for her babies. I couldn’t took the life of a rabbit, I came back out and gave her carrots, she took them back to give to her babies.
Kai said, “That was very nice of you, Lindsey.” “Yeah, I couldn’t took her life away, she has babies,” I told him. Kai said, “I agree. I think we should look for wolf packs, so we can know what to look out for.” “Do you want to do that now?” I asked.
“Sure, I mean, it doesn’t hurt to be curious,” said Kai. Kris came over and asked, “May I tag along?” “Sure,” I said. We headed to the right direction, Kai, Xiumin, Chen, Tao, Kris, Luhan, Lay, and myself were in our wolf forms searching for other packs out there.
“So, how long can we see another pack coming towards us?” Tao asked. Kris answered, “We’ll let them know that they should know about our territory and to never cross it.” “Isn’t that risky though?” Luhan asked.
“Not really, Luhan, all we need to do is hopefully make them to come to an agreement,” said Xiumin. Kris said, “He’s right, if they manage to respect our rules, we will not harm them.” “If they betray us?” Tao asked.
“We will let them off with a warning,” said Chen. Kai came to me and asked, “Are you doing alright?” “I’m just thinking,” I said to him. Kai asked, “About what?” “On what we are going into, this is all happening because of my stupid curiosity,” I said.
“Don’t worry, it’ll be alright, everything will turn out fine, I promise,” said Kai. I said, “I should’ve woken up Chanyeol from his nap. I have a bad feeling about this.” “Chanyeol is a heavy napper,” said Xiumin.
I remained silent while the boys talk things out, then when I told Kai that I had a bad feeling, it was not going away, I was getting scared. Then when I stopped walking and the guys were all now walking a far distance, I looked around, took a step forward, and then down a hole.
*Kai’s POV*
Everything was going fine, when I looked to where Lindsey was suppose to be, that’s when we heard her yelp. We stopped walking, looked back, ran to the hole she fell in, and Kris began to panic.
“Lindsey, are you alright?” he asked, shouting. We heard her faintly say, “Yeah, I’m gonna be fine, the problem is getting out of here, go back to the others and tell them on what happened, maybe they can figure something out.”
“Might as well do so,” said Tao, “We have no choice.” Then we all left to go back to base to tell everyone on what happened.
*Lindsey’s POV*
While they were going to do that, I just stayed in the hole, until I heard a voice asking, “Are you alright?” “Who’s there?” I asked. I looked it was another wolf, he said, “Easy, I’m not here to hurt you, I’m here to help you out of this hole that was mysteriously placed.”
“Oh alright,” I said. When he helped me out, I whined because I landed on my back leg the wrong way, I looked to who helped me was now human and carried me to where he came from.
“Can I have your name, milady?” he asked. I answered, “I’m Lindsey Sterling.” “Donghae,” he said. I said, “Thanks for saving me.” “Don’t mention it,” said Donghae, “Now let me and my pack nurture you back to health.”
“Alright,” I said, “I’m hoping you don’t see me as a threat.” “I saved you from the hole haven’t I?” asked Donghae. I said, “Good point, forget what I said.” “By the way, my pack is called Super Junior, Suju for short,” said Donghae.
