YEA LETS GO EX-FRAMING DEPARTMENT they never even got around to teaching me production it was all wrapping and taking orders :/ Idk how it is at other shops but we only had 3 people working the whole frame shop. One person did ALL the frame assembly and us other two handled everything else. Was absolutely not worth $11/hr. man fuck retail. FUCK Design Hub too, if I may
#id come in for my like 4 hour shift and would have to run + close shop which included wrapping#wrapping storing calling for all orders done plus get all yhe frames lined plus unpack and clean up all the new frames coming in all by#all by the end of the night PLUS frame shop had to clean the bathrooms every night#plus actually running the front desk and taking orders and sometimes ppl would take hours picking matts that would cut into the time i had#to have everything else finished PLUS if i for some reason had everything done on time theyd make me run sales floor too#it was insane all the stuff they had me learn for such shit pay like. and#never work michales but never do it around the holidays more important#you will never escape the glitter#all that and my framing manager never got around to teaching me how to assemble a frame.#at least it was nice to hide in the frame shop so i wasnt talking to customers 24/7 but still#customers treat you so horribly like i was sweeping once and this lady comes up to me like saying the bathroom was disgusting right#and i get it. it was always disgusting. but we did clean it every night. anyway its hard when you cant just tell people that 1.#1 we clean them every night so if theres a huge mess in it most likely it was another shopper who pissed on the floor just cuz.#and 2 they only give us a mop and some pine sol to clean the whole 2 bathrooms every night. dont blame me blame michals lol#everything else was just so stupid#i wanna know how many framing department ppl everyone else had because we had 2 part time and 1 full time and i was only there a few months

I’ve been outside all day holding a garage sale no one has attended trying to get rid of my girls clothes. Transition interrupted by the inconvenient fact that it’s 85F and no one under the age of 70 carries cash anymore.

#I might delete this later but I'm feeling a bit disheartened and want to just put this out there into the world but not super publicly#But like#The worst part of being overweight in my opinion is that it's so so hard to feel cute or pretty or even decent looking#I'm going to Japan with my older brother next week and I've been curating a cutesy Lolita-esque style outfit for the trip and I finally#got the last of the pieces so I tried it all on. And it's just... no matter how hard I try I can't really see myself as cute in it#I don't know maybe pink isn't my color and this just isn't my style. But.#I tried really hard to make an outfit I'd feel cute in and it's devastating to not really see myself as cute#And it's not really that I think I look bad per se it's just...#I don't know#Not what I wanted it to be I guess#And I know that if I posted pictures people would say ''wow you look great!!!'' because people always say that kind of thing#But I'd always think they were lying or were playing it up#Even if they really weren't#I just wanted to feel cutesy and everything and it hurts somewhere deep inside to not feel that way#I'll still wear the outfit in Japan since I spent enough time and money on this outfit but it really dampens my enthusiasm#And this wasn't the first time I've tried on the dress obviously. I've been trying it on periodically all along#But I kept hoping that once it was done and I had the makeup all on maybe I'd finally be able to see myself as cute#But no#I still don't. Not really.#It doesn't help that the dress itself doesn't even fit properly#I got it on sale which is what sparked this whole idea in the first place and it was always a size too small#It never zipped properly but I was able to work around that with an outer corset that held it closed#And a lace shrug that helped hide the weird bunching in the back#I can sometimes get the dress zipped now since I've lost a little weight#But it's a struggle and I can only do it about half the time and it feels like I'm going to break the zipper each time#I'd think to buy a new dress but a) that would cost even more money and I've already spent way more than I had wanted in my endeavor#to feel cute in this dress. And b) all of the accessories are tailored to this dress specifically#It would be hard to find a good replacement and there is no guarantee that would even help#So I just... I don't know#It's just hard.

And truth to be told, I had thought about it - I was almost planning on it while the Nero orders were actively happening, but it turned out to be too much of a hit on my wallet to actually follow through with it (merch making is expensive!) - I'd probably get a bigger turnaround if I tried it now since I have more of a following, and the twins are more popular characters than Nero, so it's not completely out of the question, but I'm not in a financially stable enough situation rn to attempt that!
#asks#again: merch making is expensive#i did the dolls mostly as a passion project and i wasnt really expecting to make a profit#i was mostly hoping to break even and get more people to have something i personally really wanted in my possession#but it was in fact at a huge loss so it kinda put a hamper on wanting to do more of it fkgjhf#still! like i said i would expect dolls of the twins to do better than nero#so that's not completely out of the question sometime down the line#really unsure about v tho. he seems like more of a niche character#again i wanna stress i really dont care about profits and if im looking at the popularity of the characters its not because i want big sale#it's because the more orders you get the cheaper production is and as such the more likely id be to at least break even or close to it

osamu dazai and yukio mishima both wrote frequently about double suicide, usually between lovers and usually under the guise of going crazy and being okay with it. reading both of their works makes me really really curious about whether or not it was just them and mishima was just inspired by dazai, or if this was a greater pattern within japanese literature and culture in the years immediately after World War II…
like considering the HUGE cultural shift that happened after japan lost the war (because the country had lied to its citizens saying they were going to win until the day of the surrender).. I’m wondering if, upon losing that sense of nationalism from an imperialistic government, this idea of meaninglessness and double suicide with someone who feels the same was a general pattern in literature at the time.
like…. they both ponder the idea of double suicide with someone their character loves who is like minded VERY often (mishima in almost every book he’s written, and dazai famously in no longer human). they talk often about this perverse, strangely sexual, need to die together and based entirely in a like-minded idea of meaninglessness and misery..

Me: Off I go! To Christmas-shop and buy all the presents for people who are NOT me and who mostly do not want books!
Me coming home 5 hours later with a stack of twelve books in my arms: now how did this happen
#in my defense: 3 of them are manga for my nephew who did specifically ask for these books#3 of them are library checkouts#half of them however are in fact books for me because truly god forbid I go somewhere and not find a book that interests me for $3 or less#EVEN WHEN THAT PLACE IS A DAMN BARNES&NOBLE*#*it's the good one. with the annex that sells used books. mostly for half cover price but eventually those prices#get sticker-tagged down to 50 or 75 percent off and as low as one dollar (in this day and age!) and I found one of each#and then of course there was the library sale corner AND THEN like those prices weren't low enough tehre is also the library free cart#meanwhile I only managed to find one other actual present... (but I know where and what I'm getting for 3 more;#it's just 1 store closed earlier than expected and at the other I realized I'd forgotten to check what size husband wears (DOH!)

I won’t go by myself to the concert (unless I really actually have to), but I asked my mom as my first resort since she would bring my dad and they could just like hang out in the city while I’m at the concert, and my best friend as my second resort because she would begrudgingly go to the concert with me, and neither one of them can/want to
#my cousin is my third resort bc she’s ambivalent about kpop and would maybe be up for a road trip and a weekend in the city#and my brother is my fourth resort but I doubt he would do it bc for one thing he already lives 8 hours from me and then we’re both at least#still 6 hours away from either of my potential concert venues#and then actually I could see if the one kpop girl at work wants to go but I literally never work with her and I definitely don’t know her#well enough to plan to go to a concert 6 hours away together#and the same with the one guy that I’m semi close with at work that likes kpop but he’s only into girl groups and I like don’t know him at#all outside of work so it would be weird rught#I don’t know I want to go so badly though 😭😭😭#like I want to see wayv more but seeing dream live would be so incredible too!!!! and I just 😭😭#also I’m probably going to be getting my nose pierced at the time tickets go on sale so like…. damn#maybe it’s just not in the cards#I also don’t know if I should take this as a sign to not go to the concert bc of that ticket sale conflict and the struggle to find someone#to go with me OR if I should take it as a sign to not pierce my nose since there’s already been at least two scheduling conflicts

just this week the cats have finally learned to snuggle but the only place all three of them like and can collectively fit on is this couch and specifically this couch with the blanket eva made from scrap yarn (that she calls her “crazy caron blanket”) and so every picture i get they are SO cute and the blanket is just. like this
#this couch is also one of our least favorite pieces of furniture to see yet it is. so comfy sometimes#so it’s like. Worst Visuals In Our Home zone#and the three of them say Oh Great Thanks!!!#i think they also learned because my mom stayed with us for a few days last week bc condo sale logistics and we gave her my room#and so a) george was scared shitless and b) bobo had to get locked out once my mom brought in her plants#so lady and bobo both slept on us together in eva’s bed and george was under the bed so they all did a LOT of close proximity resting#and now lady FINALLY can refrain from smacking the others if they sit near her. and because it’s cold out#they’re all a little more interested in snuggling#it’s been a tough couple days i hurt my back in a Bobo Accident™️ on friday and. it sucks!!!!!!!!!#so this has been a really exciting development when i need something to feel positive about LOL#a ten is blogging

Unsolicited shopping advice time but I just tried on some dresses I ordered from JCPenny and they’re so nice???!?!!! They fit pretty well and the fabric actually has weight and drape to it, it’s nothing like the tissue thin garbage I’ve seen at Old Navy recently. Absolutely over the moon.
#taking your measurements is very important!!!#I got them during a sale so it was like $30-40 each#also for reference I tend to run about 14/16/XL and there were SO MANY OPTIONS#generally I’m a dress thrifter but I have a very hard time finding ones with sleeves that fit#and I still have one more on it’s way#I need to mess with a couple of the necklines but otherwise pretty great#long sleeve dresses for me!!!#so sad now that the local JCP closed#I can’t fucking shop at kohls anymore bc nothing ever fits#bec talks#bec posts#maybe I should try them for shirts sometime 🤔
