Hello everyone! I'm sure this has probably been mentioned or talked about before, but I have something I want to say about the irony of Rouges! The Podcast's Edward Nygma and a comment he made on a very specific ask and how it is hilarious to me that his very response to it is him somehow predicting the downfall of his and Jon's friendship. (I know it's probably a coincidence but who cares. Also i have yet to listen to the latest ep of Rouges, pls dont spoil it for me!)

Now which episode might I be talking about? To be specific, Rouges! The Podcast, Season Two, Episode 7: Weakness as a Trait. This is how the episode starts (thanks Codot for uploading a transcript to RSS):

"Jordenmendes says: I need your opinion on this one. What’s a trait someone could have that could make them weak? Now don’t just say stupidity, ignorance, or something of that sort. Really think about it. What’s a trait that could only day become a weakness for someone?"

Of course Edward gets annoyed at the user for assuming his answer and proceedings to tell to never tell him what to do. Then he says this:

"– one trait immediately leapt to mind. Two actually, but the second was pride, and I decided to leave deadly sins for another day. No, my dear listeners – this trait is far more tragic. Loyalty. There is nothing so crippling and pathetic as loyalty. What brings the painfully predictable Boy Blunder to his precious Dark Knight, despite the incredible risks?" He of course goes on about Harley and Joker, Echo and Query, etc. This brings me to my point.

Edward himself says that loyalty is a weakness, and yet, here in season seven, we find that his loyalty is the very thing that has him desperately trying to keep Jon around. I mean, the man whent to pull Jonathan out of that barn down in Georgia! I know Oswald order him to, but this is Edward. He couldn't just sent someone else to do it, but his loyalty and his trust in Jonathan as a friend made him go. He let his guilt build up all the way down to Georgia and back up because he didn't want to lose Jonathan! I mean, hell! Edward took care of Jonathan's bird during the whole Valentino arc! If that isn't loyalty to a friend, I don't know what is.

If only Edward could look at his past self and hear himself say "The fact is, loyalty will inevitably lead to your downfall." Imagine him hearing his own self say that with a sense of arrogance he doesn't dare to use on a subject such as this anymore because he knows it's true for himself now. He said it to us viewers and now he has fallen to the very weakness he mocked so long ago! There is a sweet sense of irony in it.

Crazy how this two minute episode launched an entire 7 paragraph essay rant about loyalty and the irony of it...

[I'd also like to put a special mention to one of my favorites from this show; Waylon. Edward literally won a trivia night at a bar in Metropolis so that he could get Waylon a shirt!]

The Podcast (S3 E14 | TRS 0143 - The Robins) This. This line means more than I could possibly put into words. As THE Stephanie Brown Stan, I get excited for any crumbs of my girl. Usually she appears in media as The Spoiler, but what has been completely erased or retconned are her arcs as Robin and later as Batgirl.

Her robin run was ended by War Games which effectively killed her and took away Robin from her. Following that Damian tended to be regarded as the 4th Robin, until DC realized how badly they screwed up and reinstated her Robin run. She kinda breaks the fourth wall in the series The Robins where she comments on how "everyone forgets her". But I'm not here to discuss how DC comics has handled her. I'm here to talk about how Rogues! The Podcast has. Stephanie has not shown up in the podcast yet and we don't really know if she will but this line means everything to me. She's alive! She's in this beautiful world Codot and Dee have created! AND SHE WAS ROBIN! Her status was not taken from her or completely ignored.

Currently we have Barbara as Batgirl, but it has been stated that her transition to Oracle is a major plot point. Maybe then we will get Cassandra and Stephanie in this story. But I sleep well at night knowing Steph's there. I know she's raising hell as Spoiler and I know she's gonna give Batman hell if we ever get to hear her voice.

THE CODOTVERSE, created by our lovely Codot and Dee, who have blessed us with the brilliant "Rogues! The Podcast" podcast.

Starting off with dear Edward answering (tumblr) questions, we slowly dive into a story that gets better and better the further you're in, introducing Jonathan (and many many other cool rogues) after some time and diving more into their characters.

The voice acting is fantastic, the story super fun and interesting and I was pretty much invested the whole time. I don't think there was an episode that I didn't like..

Sorry if this comes off as an odd ask. But I've recently started listening to the Rouges! Podcast on Spotify. It's been good so far and I've made it all the way to season four, right now I'm on episode 16. I won't assume that you've finished it yourself, but if you have- I'd like to ask if there are any TWs or CWs that you could give on the sections with Valentino Lucenzo... as with what I've seen so far there are some rather disturbing implications and descriptions that I'm quite squeamish towards...

If there is anything I could be warned about I'd be very thankful for your doing so.

I have listened to, and finished Rogues! The Podcast around five times. For the most part, during the parts with Lucenzo, there’s nothing too bad, however during the part when he brings Jonathan over for dinner, c@anibalism does occur. And later, in the episodes, Jonathan does encounter Valentino’s experiments, and does preform surgery on a police officer. Other than that I’m not sure, and I don’t want too spoil too much. Happy listening!

After the loss of Kevin Conroy I avoided DC for a while, it would make me so sad to think about the amazing talent we lost and all the things I would never get to say to him and thank him for. I felt even worse after Arline Sorkin died but thanks to you and so many other amazing fan creators out there I remembered why I love DC so much, and especially Batman!

So one again, thank you Codot and Dee for everything you've done!

I've recently remembered and updated myself with @voiceboss's podcast, and fucking Edward's got my heart in a Death Grip (again). So I ended up making something very silly (and extremely specific) as a playlist for Mr Codot/Dee, and anyone else, to enjoy~.

The title is based on a true story. Now I'm just making you all suffer with me. 💚

(Also extra disclaimer to really drive it home, this was made for fun, nothing is canon or being remotely suggested as such, and I didn't have anything to do with making the podcast series/anything surrounding it. My Time with Rogues! The Podcast

My little journey with Rogues! the Podcast started back on July 27th. I got a DM from friend of mine talking about this podcast on Spotify (and that I would LOVE this version of The Riddler). I distinctly remember laying in a hammock falling asleep to Edward Nygma berate listeners over their stupid riddles and questions. (I later almost fell out of the hammock when I heard a southern Jonathan Crane). Rogues! was my little safe space for a long time. I kept it close to my chest. I was dealing with a lot of very emotional things that summer and Rogues! made me happy. It made me feel better. I could turn on an episode and I knew I would feel at least a bit better. November 11th is another very special day in my heart and journey with Rogues! (and the greater Codotverse) That was the day I uploaded my very first tiktok about the podcast and it was just supposed to be a silly little joke. Nothing was supposed to come of it. I even made a joke about how niche it was. I tagged the creator himself, Codot aka TheVoiceBoss, not expecting anything of it but it changed everything. I became a prominent tiktok creator who made Codotverse content. I started making friends through the podcast.

@sh4pes-4nd-colors and I became campaign managers for a season. We're managing a zine dedicated to Rogues! called Rogues! the Fanzine. We're making our own story driven podcast.

My best friend in the entire world @lunar-scapes and I got internships across the country together and we're going to be living together.

All of this sprouted from the love of a singular creative project from two people that truly do love what they do regardless of the popularity or monetary compensation.

Alls this to say. Thank you @voiceboss for everything you've done knowingly or unknowingly for me. Rogues! provides me a comfort not many pieces of media can. It means the absolute world to me. Rogues! reignited my love in DC comics (and comics in general) and I cannot thank you enough for everything you and Dee have done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to next year of fun and dastardly schemes.
