i love how sophie’s priorities are pretty much the inverse of anyone else’s priorities. she’s oddly calm in life-or-death scenarios and mostly just seems annoyed when people are trying to kill her, but things like rain or bugs or the smell of hardison’s van are what really bothers her. like one time she takes revenge on eliot by straight up brainwashing him because he didn’t get rid of a cockroach that was grossing her out… this is a woman who has been shot before.

I was researching a bit more on hand tics in the meantime. I wanted to expand more on that one Pico headcanon I have!

•He has both clonic (rapid) ones in his fingers and a dystonic (prolonged) one on both of his ring fingers. His fingers curl inwards and stay there for a bit. He hates when they're acknowledged in any way because they get worse if he thinks about it, buttt...

I like the thought that Darnell inadvertently taught him to do a competing response by flexing his fingers outwards when he thinks they'll happen... by gently holding them like that post tic.

He doesn't talk about it to Pico either when he does it. They just chat about their next hit or something completely unrelated.

It's probably just because the last thing Darnell wants is for the gunman to have twitchy fingers and a foggy head when they do jobs. He cares enough to not let his friend fall apart. (They don't go to therapy man!! He's gotta learn somehow 💥)

A hand on the small of your back, maybe your hand wrapped in his, at worst his hand on the small of your neck to guide and direct you. He doesn't need to nip at your heels to get you to go where you should.

A nip at your earlobe followed by a growl of "Behave yerself" just barely above the din. A soft kiss along your jawline to apologize; to anyone else it looks like he's telling you a secret, but you know it's a reminder that he is in charge and you'd best listen.

A pinch - maybe the inside of your thigh or arm, or the soft, cushiony part of your hip - when you step outside of pre-determined bounds. A reminder that he's here to protect you, even if you can't detect the threat yourself.

He's subtle in the way he displays dominance. He knows his job is to protect and keep you in line, and he intends to do at least that much. He'll showboat in other areas (and does). But this power exchange between the two of you is his.

....I lost the dog metaphor there a bit. Sorry not sorry. Yes, you'll probably see a lot of this in Museum Muse. Maybe Brix. Bite me. (I'll like it.)

honestly analysing mdzs is such a minefield because you cannot actually take anything you read at face value. for every claim, you have to look at who's saying/doing it, what their motivations are, what their perspective is (for example, what information they do or don't have, and their specific view of the world), what the context they are acting in, because it all matters - and that might be par for the course for any well written intrigue, but that's not the only thing to think about, because you also have to take into account MXTX's own biases, the message she is trying to convey with a line or a scene, and critically evaluate the effect that is having - and be careful because in this fandom we're all so emotionally charged you also have to reflect on your biases and how your life experiences influence the way you interpret characters and events, and try not to project too much, and oh- oh!!!! what's this with a steel chair???? it's six fucking different adaptations and dubiously canonical social media posts from the author!!!!

but cut to batgirl 2008!! where cass is accepting that rose is Not a killer except for the fact that she just really wants to kill slade. and cass respects her and listens to her and WANTS her around. but neither of them are really even processing how much they care about each other because theyre just focused on patricide. but cass is everything to rose that no one else was at that time and she doesnt even notice because shes so singularly focused. ouguhgughhgg

wanted to post this for a long time but the part 2 trailer gave me fuel so let me be a cunt for a minute here. why is there so much of the kids WHY is. there. so. much. of the kids. where are the main characters. where's JOHNNY. where's DANIEL. wheeeeeeere are billy and ralph why is the promo just the kids' actors why are the adults barely in the trailer also WHY. why the fuck are there new characters. what is the pointtttttt of having new characters in the last episodes of the last seasonnnnnnnn WHERE are the characters that matter that the audience (me!) would die to see? you have three entire movies that your stupid series is based on with a pretty big cast and characters that are loved by the fandom and the general audience why not bring them back for the final moments why do we need more unnecessary and not background (?!) characters? 😐

BASICALLY the tl;dr is that she's an awful writer that values style over substance to the detriment of substance. she thinks shock value and twists make up for her lack of intellect (she is dumb as a box of hammers imco) and depth of narrative.

she's also ragingly classist (see: saltburn) and sexist (promising young woman). and thinking of the classist/racist crimes she's going to commit against heathcliff literally makes me shudder. it's going to be bad.
