This is NOT normal and you should take your larvitar to the pokemon center immediately, this is a medical emergency!!!
Normally this is where I'd spout off facts about the pokemon mentioned, but instead all I have to say is.. Why wasnt your first instinct to bring larvitar to a vet?! Larvitar are born able to eat soil, its how they build up their tough hides and prepare for evolution. If you notice her eat something and then have THIS strong a reaction, that should be a red flag that something is VERY wrong!
I am not exaggerating when I say that this is a life or death situation, get help as soon as possible.

You need more free art.
I quit my job yesterday. Well, actually I quit my job eight weeks ago, but they finally released me yesterday for good behaviour. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do - but I do it for the wrong reasons. Working for major charities, you learn very fast that 'I want to make the world a better place' is a phrase you use to ask people for money, not to give them things. I was an ass-backwards fit for that world.
You need more free art. I need more free art. Everyone has felt the shift in our media landscape over the last ten years, away from access and towards nickel-and-diming the human experience. That lack of access is making life and culture worse for all of us, across the board. Paywalled news sites leave us less informed, attacks on the Internet Archive leave us less capable of research. Algorithmic social feeds and streaming walled gardens trap us inside smaller and smaller demographic bubbles, where we are increasingly only likely to encounter ideas that have been curated for us by marketing departments. Hasty efforts to resist AI commodification have only led to more artists locking their work away and calling for even more onerous systems of copyright law. This is not good for us.
We all need more free art.
So what am I going to do about it?
This is a question I have been asking myself for years. It's easy to sit here feeilng frustrated and thinking 'boy I hope SOMEONE does SOMETHING'. It's harder to take action in a world where I still have rent to pay. But hard doesn't mean impossible. Sometimes hard just means time-consuming, frustrating and slow. And sometimes it's worth doing something time-consuming, frustrating and slow because...I want to make the world a better place.
I'm going to do this:
1. From April 1st, I am relaunching as a freelance writer and editor.

This is the one that will (hopefully) help to pay the bills. I am a very good and experienced editor. I've worked on hollywood movies, I'm a member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders, I have clients who have been coming to me exclusively for more than 10 years.
Alongside bigger contract jobs, I am going to refocus on offering my services to small-press creators at a reduced rate. That means you, graphic novelists. That means you, itch and amazon writers. I want to help you develop your work, the same way I help large organisations. You can learn more about what an editor even does and what kind of pricing you can expect here.
2. I'm also going to start giving shit away. Like, constantly.

Next week I'm going to launch a new free shop. If you're unfamiliar, a free shop, giveaway shop, swap shop, etc. is an anarchist tradition of setting up a storefront where anyone can take what they like for no cost. Offline, this often means second-hand clothes, tools, furniture, food etc. Online, I am going to be giving away digital art. Copyright-free, no strings attached. It will (eventually) feature everything from print-res posters to zines, poems, tattoo flash, t-shirt designs and anything else we come up with.
Yes, I said 'we' - while this is a curated collection, it will feature work from a variety of credited and anonymous artists and activists, all of whom have agreed to give their work away to the public domain. Some of it will be practical, some of it will be political, but a lot of it will be decorative or personal. This is, in part, a response to recent difficulty I had finding somewhere that would print a one-off joke poster for a friend that featured the word 'faggot'. Enough. No middlemen - no explaining ourselves. Just print our shit and enjoy it.
I'm very, very excited about this project. I'll have more to say about it closer to the launch, but you can expect it to go live on March 27th.

When I went looking for my old stock to see if it was worth setting a new (paid) storefront up, I realised I had way more old work in storage than I thought. Julia has had it with her millionaire man-child manager, and is just about ready to let him know what she really thinks. African Social Spiders: these spiders live in colonies that can contain up to 2,000 spiders, most of which are female; they hunt, forage, maintain their web, and raise their offspring as a group, without any dominance hierarchy or caste system

This communal behavior is extremely rare among spiders, which are normally solitary creatures. The African social spider (Stegodyphus dumicola) is one of the few species that has been identified as a true "social spider," forming colonies and living in communal nests where the spiders work together to hunt, forage, build webs, and care for their offspring.

African social spiders can be found in various parts of southwestern Africa, where they will often build a dense silk nest in the branches of a thorn tree and/or shrub. Most of the spiders in the colony are female (more than 85%, according to some studies) and the species itself also has a female-biased primary sex ratio, as researchers have found that female embryos develop in more than 80% of the eggs that the spiders produce.

There is no evidence that any dominance hierarchy or caste system exists within S. dumicola colonies. The spiders all cooperate to complete a variety of tasks, such as hunting, repairing the web, foraging, defending the colony, caring for the colony's offspring, etc. While none of them are exclusively assigned to a single task, many have a primary role that they fill, often based on their physical size and condition.

This species also engages in extreme allomaternal care, meaning that many different spiders (including both mothers and "allomothers") all share the responsibility of caring for the colony's offspring; even the unmated females help out with brood care. The mothers/allomothers tend to the eggsacs, regurgitate food for the baby spiderlings, and even engage in matriphagy, which means that they will eventually be cannibalized by the babies.

... some proportion of females do not reproduce – sometimes as much as 60% – but remain as helpers, contributing to foraging and brood care (allo-mothering). Both breeding females and virgin allo-mothers regurgitate food for colony offspring and eventually let the young consume their bodies. ...
Young that are raised with both mothers and allo-mothers show higher survival and growth than young raised by their mothers alone, suggesting a clear fitness benefit of cooperative breeding.

The foster care to sex trafficking pipeline has always been a problem. Girls that lack parents or a stable home life are especially vulnerable to sexual exploitation. In the age of the Internet and the porn industry however, the sadistic and misogynistic sexual abuse of women has become mainstream.
Girls age out of the foster care system and get sacrificed on the altar of pornography. Their rape is shared on Reddit subs under tags like "dead eyes" and "barely legal". Young boys consume porn and these scenes they watch become normalized. They adopt these sexual scripts as normal behaviour and they become the type of boys who think it's normal to choke, strangle, beat, degrade girls during sex.
Self proclaimed feminists defend the sex industry and dismiss the horrific cases of abuse in porn as outliers. They argue that "sex work is work" and that some women genuinely enjoy it. However, let me argue it this way. There is supply and demand. If the demand for prostitutes, porn stars or "sex workers" is high but the supply is low (meaning women don't want to do sex work), where will the supply come from? The answer is marginalized women. Women from foster care, homeless women, refugees, migrant women, racial minorities, substance dependant women.
And so, who will supply the demand for porn audiences who want to see taboo niche videos? What if the demand is for rough anal sex of a barely legal teen until she cries?
The recruitment of the sex industry is predatory. This is why sex trafficking victims are overwhelmingly women from foster care. When girls age out of care, they are disproportionately at risk for homelessness. Research the outcomes of foster kids.

Splatoon - Callie 101!
I have gathered EVERY Callie analysis and ramble I've done and complied them together into one post for your viewing convenience! I go over all the different aspects relating to Callie's arc in Splatoon 2, diving deep into Hypno Callie and clearing up ALL of her misconceptions. Some of these posts are just me rambling and some of them do have overlapping information, but these posts still provide valuable and important information regarding Callie.

I love this character to death and i only want the best for her, i hope more and more people come to learn about her true arc and i hope i can inspire some change in the community. Either via more people in the community saying the right terminology across social media and changing the wording from "brainwashing" to hypnosis.
PLEEEAASSEEE!!! reblog and share with others in the Splatoon community because I really do want some change and i want this wonderful character that i love to death to be treated with some more respect. Although she may not seem that important, Callie is one of the most important and significant characters in the franchise and i want more people to treat her as such, rather than some airheaded idiot.
Hearing people say the same stuff over and over again like "Oh she was kidnapped, overpowered and then brainwashed, losing all of her memories, etc." Genuinely gave me a lot of discomfort and i avoided consuming Splatoon 2 content because i was actually scared of seeing Hypno Callie and hearing those words.... That was until i actually did research and began making all of these posts that i shall link.

As a bunny hybrid Jungkook had always been a little self-conscious about his more animal nature and behaviours. He had fluffy ears that twitched when he was excited or nervous, and a soft, powder-puff tail that gave away his every mood with a simple twitch or flick. Usually, he managed to keep himself under control, but whenever his heat made an appearance, there was no hiding the intense desire that consumed him.
Today was one of those days. He had woken up with a burning sensation coursing through his veins, he felt as if his whole body was on fire, his thoughts a haze of need. He tried to busy himself with chores around the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, Y/N, but every time he caught the slightest whiff of her scent, his composure crumbled a little more.
Y/N was aware of his predicament and had always been supportive, understanding that his heat was something he could in no way control. She had even done some research to see what the best way to help him through it would be, and the thought of her dedication made Jungkook's heart swell with love and gratitude.
By the time Y/N returned home from work, Jungkook was a mess. His ears were drooping, and his eyes had a glazed, desperate look to them. He was pacing the living room, his tail flicking erratically.
"Hey, baby," Y/N greeted him softly, setting her bag down before moving closer to him and giving him a short peck on the lips. "How are you feeling?"
Jungkook swallowed hard, his throat dry. "It's bad, Y/N. I...I don’t think I can control it."
Y/N's expression softened with understanding. She reached out, cupping his face gently in her hands. "It's okay, sweetheart. I'm here. We'll get through it together like we always do."
Her words were a balm to his frazzled nerves. He leaned into her touch, nuzzling her palm. "I need you," he confessed, his voice husky with need. "I need you so much."
Without another word, Y/N led him to their bedroom. As soon as the door closed behind him, the last of Jungkook's restraint snapped. He pressed her against the wall, his lips crashing down on hers in a fervent kiss. She responded eagerly, her hands tangling in his hair, tugging slightly and making his bunny ears twitch in delight.
Jungkook's hands roamed her body, feeling the curves that drove him wild. When he reached her chest, he paused, pulling back slightly to look into her eyes to ask for permission. She gave him a nod, her own eyes dark with desire, and he wasted no time in slipping his hands under her shirt, pushing it up and over her head.

As promised to you all, inspired by that video of Aziraphale as an antidepressant. The WebMD drug format, from your clearly deranged mascot, Asmi. This took way too much effort. For legal purposes, even though this blog is a lawless hellscape, this is a spoof. COMMON BRAND(S): Guardian of the East Gate, Angel GENERIC NAME(S): Aziraphale
USES This medication is used to treat mood-related disorders ranging from depression to chronic loneliness and anxiety. It has also been proven effective in treatment of Compulsive Demonic Behavioural Disorder (CDBD) and Post Fall Stress Disorder (PFSD). The medication results in an overall improvement in mood (see Side Effects), morals, and lifestyle choices. This medication is sometimes described as a 'miracle-worker'. It is advisable to ensure that the correct dosage is taken at regular intervals. The doctor/God/Forces That Be may prescribe a lower dose at the start, gradually increasing frequency and amount over the course of millennia.

It must be noted that in the country where I live (India), advertisements for pharmaceutical drugs are legally prohibited on television and other media. Which is why I was very bewildered at the initial video. But WebMD is a universal phenomenon so this shall by my contribution to the fandom. Research has consistently shown a positive relationship between exposure to advertising and the strength of materialistic values, especially within children. Analysis of US children and adolescents over several decades highlighted that when a country spent a greater amount on advertising, levels of materialism among youth also tended to be higher (Twenge & Kasser, 2013). Children who are exposed to a greater amount of consumer advertising go on to display stronger materialistic values and a greater desire to purchase the advertised products. This effect is particularly strong when people perceive advertisements to be an accurate portrayal of real life.  What is worrying is that children from less affluent backgrounds appear to be more exposed to consumer advertising, tending to spend more time watching television or living in more urban areas with higher levels of outdoor advertising present. This could mean that they risk developing higher levels of materialism. A study of 9–13-year-olds in the UK (Nairn & Opree, 2021) found that a much greater percentage of deprived (47%) compared to affluent (23%) children agreed that “I would rather spend time buying things than almost anything else.”

This negative impact of materialism on wellbeing has been documented across people’s lifespan. Some studies have suggested that the link between materialism and poor wellbeing is stronger for children from deprived backgrounds (Nairn & Opree, 2021), implying that advertising and materialism may promote a process of upward comparisons, whereby those people who do not have the affluent lifestyles that advertising promotes, and materialism desires, come to feel that they do not meet societal standards, hindering their self-esteem. Materialism doesn’t only cause problems for the person holding the strong materialistic values, it’s also bad for social relationships and the health of the planet. Exposure to materialistic cues such as consumer advertising has been shown to lead to anti-welfare attitudes and less helpful behaviours. People who are more materialistic also care less about environmental issues and engage in fewer sustainable behaviours.
