I gave the video a watch, willing to hear the person out, since the critical side of this community has its own problems. But the video’s OP was quite mocking of critiques against Helluva and the people giving them. It was a pretty unpleasant viewing experience

I have the YouTuber blocked on Twitter, oh boy. I watched a lot of bad and unpleasant videos in my lifetime. As long as the audio is clear and the visuals don’t make my eyes scream for help, I can handle it.

Brandon gets criticized as well, same with Adam. Viv gets pushback more because she responds. If you criticized her in her replies, you are more likely to get her attention which causes more drama/discourse. Brandon and Adam just seem to live their lives and rarely or never responds to negative feedback.

Vague thoughts on Trump 2.0

Most of us who voted for him were playing the long game. Maybe I'm speaking for myself, but I certainly didn't expect the "Golden Age of America" to arrive by this month. I expected resistance, and maybe even a little chaos, but made the gamble that it would be worth it. It wasn't about "cheap eggs" in 2025, it was about what the world would look like in 2035, and beyond.

We should be excited that we have someone who isn't willing to "play by the rules" and actually follows through on his promises to shake things up. Millions of people say they want change or even that they hate "the system" and want it to come crashing down, and then freak out when it shows signs of actually happening.

I'm willing to go through a few years of uncertainty. And the recent meltdowns I see from mainstream sources have me very curious indeed about how things will play out... and very willing to exercise patience.

Trump is still making the right people unhappy, anyway, which is the main thing I wanted out of a presidential candidate in 2024.

The arguments against his tariff plan, which echo the arguments against immigration enforcement, are frequently disingenuous and distasteful. But but but we need cheap goods! You know what? Nah. A lot of conservatives, I included, have woken up to the fact that cheap goods always come at a hidden price. "We need cheap TV's!" Seriously? Cheap TV's? That's your talking point? Honestly, the last thing a society in a metabolic health crisis, with people feeling starved for meaning, purpose, and connection left and right, and practically everyone diagnosable with some mental health condition, needs is cheap TV's. Do we need to even talk about the problems caused by cheap food? We sure pay for that, all right! In poor health, environmental degradation, animal cruelty, and harm to rural communities and farm workers. Also, hello???!!! Cheap clothing, containers, furniture, various gadgets we use around our homes, etc., suck, so we just pay more down the road by replacing them all the time. Come on. We know this.

Recently, they trotted out a soybean farmer who is afraid of tariffs. Eyeroll. A soybean farmer, really? Someone who's wrecking the environment with a monocrop and contributing to the mass poisoning of society with toxic seed oils? Sorry if that doesn't arouse my sympathy. "Learn to farm regeneratively" should be the new "Learn to code."

Anyone not critical of Trump these days is branded a sycophant. Well, I have an alternative explanation. Hitting us over the head with articles about how the sky is falling because of Trump has all the markings of a psy-op. I think that makes a lot of people - including people who would ordinarily be fine with criticizing any president - dig in their heels, and say, Not so fast. You're not going to scare me. You're not going to make me backtrack on everything I stood for six months ago because things are uncertain now. Personally, I have to say the signal it's sending to me is that, as above, the right people are angry, and my automatic reaction is to double down.

Cracking my Knuckles and snapping my neck.

Most of these headcanons are a collab between me and my long time friend @/mush-worm. They don't post here as much, but check 'em out they're the coolest ever.

I'll start with the one I work on/write the most, Griff. There's a bit of information i've gathered with him based on lil tidbits in offical art. Some of these are just reaches and interpretations, but that's what makes shit like this fun. It's gonna be a long post so..

Griff Section ---- -58 Years Old, Adopted Colette in his 40's as in the current timeline of our AU--(? Its not canon so it's moreso an alt universe I suppose)--Colette is 16 and currently employed in the gift shop.

-Failed Recovering Pyromaniac, His piggy bank bombs and love for fireworks/firecrackers is one reason why rehab never seem to cross his mind when he was hired at Starr Park.

-He's extremely skilled at playing the violin, but gave it up the older he got-- He still thinks fondly on it, but considers it a pipe dream after a while. More confident that business is the way to go (It's not.)

-Undiagnosed Autistic and System (Specifically UDD, is often Frontstuck most of the time)

-He has a fear of snakes that he eventually gets out of, He's really one of those people who think all snakes are dangerous.

-White Latino, Only knows two languages he can speak-- Spanish is not one of them. (English and Japanese since Starr Park is on an manmade island similiar to Okinawa) --Extremely well versed in Cipher Codes, Even creating his personal code that his mask often prints out occassionally.

-Most of his debt comes from Medical Bills and Money laundering in the past. --His gender affirming surgeries are the reason. The grind :fire emoji:

-Post OP Trans Male with Male leaning attraction, Women are part of his attraction-- but it's very rare he even considers that idea. (And then Gray came along)

-Mutations from the gems in Starr Park resulted in his Skin being tougher than rock and being much more warm than the average human. --(His organs literally started growing a dense,thick lining around them to protect the body from the extreme heat.) ----(An Average Human Temp inside the body is 98.6 Fahrenheit-- His would be close to 129.2+ Fahrenheit. Somehow Logic was defied to a point where he can withstand his own body heat and extreme cold) (Yes he is very warm and a great cuddle buddy when its cold /silly

-Described in Starr park as a part of his general Character Profile is "The Greedy". In reality he's more so desperate and careless at once. Risking his being in order to get what he wants-- Even if that means physical risks.

-62 Years Old, Looks alot Older than he's supposed to-- Which is a result due to Fertility issues/Menopause...And horribly bad luck on his family's genes. -His family genes actually fucked him over so badly. Around Late 20's-30's he immediately started to lose pigmentation in his hair and age faster-- He gave up the idea of trying to look less old after a while. --Predisposed to not putting on tons of weight, results in him being extremely lanky due to his lack of healthy eating habits.

-Trans Male, but has never had any operations other than HRT-- He still suffers from Body Dysphoria, with his mutations only making the feelings worse.

-Extremely Intelligent man and Talented Alchemist (Thats awful at Math), Although he does make Fake potions thats either for show or drinking purposes for customers. If he were to sell actual potions or concoctions that did something to the public, there would be HEAVY criticism. As much of them either do Extreme damage or Result in a 20% Sucess Rate of their intended purpose. --Which is why he's often referred to as a "Snake Oil Salesman"...He plays into the act way too much, as the attention is the equilvalent to crack.

-European, Born and Raised in Germany. Multilingual and Able to read ASL. -Extremely Curious, Often carries his own Personal Journal to document what he sees and examines. --This includes: Seen Mutations, Abilities, Gadget/Star Power effects, Hypercharges, Flora and Fauna within a specific area that has been infected by the Gems. (Active Explorer of the Swamp of Love and Academic Partner of Mortis)

-Obsessive person, whether that be over lovers or an idea. -He got the worst front of the Mutations. --Includes...

Scales growing from under his skin, often gathering on his back or remaining under his skin.

Elongated Tail with Human skin and scales, along with a weak rattle.

Ability to unhinge his jaw and house hidden fangs that retract. Came with a extremely potent venom that comes from sacs near his tonsils. He has not mastered when it seeps out presently, so it often results in a subtle drooling/biting problem and hyperawareness of what he drinks/eat from.

Jacobson Organ and Thinned Tongue, It is often extremely hard to hide or sneak up on him as he can find his way through the dark easily and "Sniff" out your hiding spot based on your pheremones.

Unable to taste anything unless it has an extreme potentecy, even then he can still taste very little.

Night Vision, Any Living organism he sees in the dark is determined by a heat map.

-Undetermined, But guessed to be in her Middle 40's...and estimated to live for Hundreds of years like Mortis.

-Undetermined Origin, Gray doesn't even know where she came from. Starr Park shrugged and just said France for her mime act. She believes it, but she doesn't have a distinct accent or know the language.

-Vampire/Human Hybird...

Natural bloodlust that can be satiated temporarily with high sugar content and Raw Meat

Sharper Fangs, But Dull compared to the regular Vamp.

Small, Premature wings that don't do much beside flap and look pretty. They're extremely underdevloped to where the skin is so thin that even touching them has to be a careful act.

Natural Hunting instinct, as a kid she often killed small animals and birds when she was hungry. She doesn't do that anymore, so for a while she was isolated from the taste of blood of years and years- Till she came to Starr Park.

Attempts to sleep during the night, but often finds herself awake at odd hours, which often forces her to stay awake during the day-- She as an awful sleep schedule.

-Eats ALOT, But the Metabolism gods blessed her to where she barely gains too much weight. The most she has is a muffin top. -Trans Female and Straight

-Semi-Verbal. Does Talk, but never during work hours. Even when she does talk, its very quiet and barely exceeds yelling/shouting unless she's provoked to a point of so.

-Portal Ability was a very recent discovery, she's unsure as to why she has it. There's a chance that she could have her own pocket dimension, but she hasn't mastered this yet so the most she can do is simple portals. Unfortunately it means at some points they close randomly....And shes gotten stuck before (as well as many others).

-Unlucky, to an almost cartoonishly ridiculous point. Undetermined if Cartoon Logic works on her or if its merely a bunch of Coincidences.

-Honestly, an Eeper Warrior. Finds stupidly dumb ways to sleep and where to sleep. Product of her awful sleep schedule.

Ideologies that accomplish exactly the opposite of what they ostensibly fight for, and end up enriching their enemies and impoverishing themselves

Plenty of political coalitions do one or the other; left-NIMBYs manage to do both. Because it's all based on "we hate corporations" (even when the corporations are openly telling you that they prefer when less housing is built) and "market-rate housing can't fix our problems" (where there are now so many peer-reviewed studies showing unambiguously that building more market-rate housing lowers rents and eviction rates in the area, while the stricter the zoning is, the higher the rents are and the worse homelessness is).

And they do all of this while being unfailingly smug and self-assured that they're the good guys, while the people like me tearing my hair out trying to get more housing to be built so the rent can go down get called Randian Villains and "right-coded bloggers". And meanwhile landlords, REITs, etc. are laughing all the way to the bank at how easy it is to get dupes who should be their enemies to fight furiously on their side.

But, and this is a big, big but, there are things I do not agree with, and I’ll start by casting light on this moment right here where they say “I love you” for the first time.

Emphasis on the first time.

That was not a first time “I love you”. That’s not how you say I love you for the first time to your lover with whom you’ve been through hell and back.

Another thing is the closing scene at the hospital; sure, Joke later tells Jack he was the one who betrayed, but Jack didn’t know that right away, and the first thing he saw was the man he loves in shambles, bawling his eyes out, visibly in need to be held, and he didn’t take him into his arms nor made any move to get at least physically closer to him.

That put me off, if I’m being honest. Aren’t they supposed to be in love and care for one another? Jack did say “I’ll only focus on you” and, yeah, he’s angry and confused about Save and worried about his daughter but it would have been very human of him to at least seek and give comfort to the person he loves.

They do have their moments, their chemistry is top tier, and that’s undeniable. But there are certain little actions that would be very realistic for them to partake in, and it leaves me a tad unsatisfied when they don’t.

Of course, I’m still eating this up, I’ll take anything. Yin and War did an incredible job with this show, and this is just a bit of criticism, done in my most humble, respectful opinion.

4AM Ramblings: RE4 ruined the Resident Evil franchise flow by making the story a male dominated narrative.

The closest we get to the OG trilogy of choosing who you want to play as, gender included, is the spin off series Revelations. Yet, even then it's not a go through the whole game format as one character, but go back and forth through the story between two characters. RE4 said let's make that 70% Men/30% Women dichotomy a reality for the main line games and it's only gotten worse from there. No wonder the main story genre went from horror to action.

RE5 tried to meet people in the middle by giving players the choice of who they want to play as, but they also wanted to repeat the critical success of RE4 via copying the game formula. Which means you just go through the same story as your partner character with no real different experiences for the sake of couch co-op.

RE6 tried meeting people in the middle even harder with the choice to see different sides of the story AND play as who you want, gender included. Unfortunately the strange shift in game mechanics, bloated cast, and certain story decisions many labeled as character assassination uuhhh, well, didn't come off great. The money was made but the reputation induced a hiatus.

RE7 has it's Mia segment, but they give you Chris DLC on top of all the other DLC with mainly men as if to apologize for subjecting you to it. RE8 gives you a Chris segment after Ethan's. No Mia segment where she can escape which might've helped unravel the mystery of what tf was going on. Just COD Chris and guns. There's the Rose DLC, but again, public response to a smaller copycat version of the full game meant we didn't get any other DLCs. Listen. RE8 desperately needed at least half as many DLCs as RE7 had considering all the places you could go that just weren't used for very long in game.

So now we have the Remakes, and we've left the OG trilogy era with the RE4R debut. We don't know if Claire will even get a remake for her game despite it being extremely important to the main story, as it reintroduces Wesker to Chris as alive after his death in RE1. And in Code Veronica you play as Claire for a little over half of the game. Not as a short segment. Not as a DLC. Not as a character you can swap out to see the story from a different perspective. It is honestly Claire's game. The question is, will we even get the luxury to experience it remade while keeping her as the focus with gamer bros and leon girlies having so much fun in their sausage party?

She was one of few people that works inside NA and help the Resistance by giving coordination to Rouge so Zero can have a safe transportation into certain areas. 🛵Purple hair girl is Campanula (the flower, Canterbury bells), a human (she is in mid 20s, just very short) , mainly works in storage, she is a skilled mechanic so she tend to helps with fixing the vehicles, mainly Aile because Aile tend to go into far more restricted-dangerous zones, sometimes the Guardian base would require her helps, despite her cheerfulness and outgoing attitude at first glance, she has troubles express her true thoughts and critics unless she feel comfortable around you.

(not final design) 🛵His name is Tomi, Yes, he count as an employees, he "disguise" himself as a motorcycle for delivering, mainly Aile use him. a mavericks gone "rouge" cuz' he got effected by the virus which was made by Campanula, it's not that he became more docile or kind, altho Campanula made sure he is incapable of attacking specifically her, he just...become more self-aware of his existence and decided that he prefer using his skill for st else other than be treated as a secondary mini-boss. He does genuinely like Campanula due to her carefulness when its come to machines, even to Mavericks like him. Other than her, Aile is another one that he also like because she impressed him with her riding skills (think of all the stunt from GTA video games) which lead to him admiring human tendency to seek danger as some sort of fun challenges. (he is one of the few OCs that i considered to be the oldest cuz' i had this concept for a long time ever since i played mmz)

She encountered Aile post-Ouroboros downfall, helping to pinpoint the leftover pieces of model Ws to ensure they stayed dead. (Aile didn't reveal Vent who was helping them finding the pieces, why tho? no idea currently, lol...) Then later on, she was saved by Aile and worked as some sort of submarine to transport packages and all sort of heavy stuffs across sea.

I find it really annoying how frequently the Hays Code is nebulously evoked in discussions of "puritanism" in media (a term defined here as "whatever the op wants it to mean") without much critical understanding of exactly how directly the Hays Code has indeed informed our contemporary ideas of minority representation and depictions of sexuality in film. It's not just an abstract idea of conservativism, it was a very specific structure of film censorship in the US that materially shaped the fundamentals of the medium as we understand them to this day. Especially when people fearmonger over anyone "bringing back" the Hays Code as if the present MPAA isn't already built off the same ideology! Like...
