I really feel like people forget that fandom is a fun hobby and not some sort of like, activist group.

Like, one of my hobbies is wildlife photography. If I follow a bunch of wildlife photography accounts and it's the only thing I see on my dash, am I in an echo chamber? No, I'm just engaging with my hobby.

Honestly the growing trend of forcing accountability, activism, virtue signalling and moral hunting in every single space is exhausting and crippling and it will eventually succeed in a massive cull of fandom spaces and creators. It already has, even, we've seen 'purges' of creators and content in certain fandoms and from a majority of websites and in revised policies.

That said, per your example, your internet space is allowed to be curated any way that you want it to. This blog, for example, is vastly different to my other account, where you will not find even a speck of political content. Not even a whiff of discourse. Its all cat pictures and the occasional shameless thirst over a man's thighs and probably an unhealthy amount of astronomy. They are both my spaces, they have just simply been curated very, very differently, and with two different intents.

"Isolated" (by content) spaces are not bad. Even in regards to some "negative" aspects. Some people are very, very set in their ways, and cannot or will not change. In such cases, its simply best to allow them to box themselves into their hate and not have a wider outreach.

before you make that post about how annoyed you are at all these dumb idiots calling their interpretation of these two characters something like oh idk siblings or family or whatever maybe ask yourself this:

is someone flattening this dynamic using a familial term or trying to invent a reason why no one can ship them OR are you just pitching a fit about someone else’s interpretation of this dynamic (that they’re expressing in their own space and on their own time, maybe sometimes saying they don’t like the ship or it makes them personally uncomfortable) (again on their own time and in their own space) because it makes you feel weird about your ship and you have zero distress tolerance because you’re so used to all of fandom catering directly to you and your romantic ships that any deviation from that - which isn’t even addressing people who DO ship them just expresses the op not feeling the same - feels like something is being taken away and you’re under attack.

I’m so appreciative for all the fandom content I’m seeing now the series has (apparently) ended.

It’s so lovely to see people continuing to post theories and meta, fanart, fanfics… everything.

I know it can be disheartening when a series ends, but the Dragon Prince community has so many wonderfully talented and supportive people. I know so so many of us will all be here for who knows how long, speculating, creating, interacting and having fun.

Numbers and hype don’t make a community, people do. Find your people and have fun with them. Continue to appreciate and adore the thing you love together. Grow and create.

I dearly hope we get more of The Dragon Prince. I’m certainly not ready to say goodbye to the world and characters I love so dearly, but I know that, regardless of what happens, we have a positive community of people who are here to share the joy and love of the media that brought us all together.

The sheer walls along the valley above the West Matukituki River created a nauseating view from above and made for quite the climb from below. But you definitely won't hear Teddy complaining about the climb. The views surrounding him brought nothing but the biggest smile to his face.

I think I'm going to have to go with tumblr, and it's not just because we're here. Twitter and Bluesky are nice and my experiences on both are overwhelmingly positive. But tumblr has an atmosphere that encourages originality, sharing your creations and talking about things in depth.
