like I can do both turn-based and real time combat just fine. What dragon age has going on just... does not compute with my brain for whatever reason.
#i haven't played many games with that type of system maybe that's just the problem?#at risk at self-reporting a skill issue: i felt overwhelmed at all times and was dying constantly#it would've helped significantly if i could've queued actions instead of having to pick only one for every pause#like idk! the combat just has a certain rythm to it that i couldn't get into#i think the first two baldur's gate games use the same system? so i kind of dread touching them tbh#edit: tbf the game let's you customize the behavior of the party members in the tactics menu or whatever it was#which is a solution that works for others i'm sure but i just found it unengaging and tedious. sorry#not necessarily a bad thing. just not something for me#michaelpost.txt

YAN! ITRAPPED X READER
Warning : obbsessive behavior , yandere themes , stalking , worshipping , self aware , ITrapped.
Note : Please do not romanticize real stalking or abusive behavior. This is for fictional and horror purposes only. Art : @/MrMiao_Noir on X
You hear about ITrapped before you ever see him.
Rumors. Whispers. A name spoken in hushed tones by survivors in the campfire light. Most describe him with confusion. “He’s not like the others,” someone mutters. “Doesn’t chase you like a normal killer… doesn’t even look like a monster.”
He doesn’t. Not at first glance.
When you finally see him, it’s under flickering lights in a run-down hallway. A basic noob avatar, low-poly and harmless looking—except for that Ice Crown on his head, glowing faintly, coldly. He stands motionless in the dark, head slightly tilted, as if studying you. Not attacking. Not even moving.
Then he vanishes.
You think it was a glitch.
It wasn’t.
His obsession begins not with violence, but with access.
You start noticing strange things in your rounds. Generators you just touched regress by themselves. Doors that should’ve been opened glitch out and lock. Items flicker in and out of existence. But these things only happen when you’re nearby.
At first, it’s frustrating. Then it’s unsettling.
You complain to others, but no one else sees it.
Except him.
ITrapped always appears briefly—standing in the background of your match, not lunging at you like other killers, not roaring or hunting. Just… watching. Frozen. Calculating.
Eventually, the sabotage stops targeting you. Instead, it starts protecting you. He disables traps you don’t see. Breaks paths for other survivors—but not you. You’re allowed to move freely, untouched.
You haven’t done anything to earn his favor. That’s what scares you.
You’re not playing the game. He is.
You begin to realize he’s more than just a presence in the matches. He’s altering the game itself.
Somehow, your matches always start with him now. The map selection glitches until it favors the ones he prefers. Load-in screens freeze when you try to quit. Your inventory resets to a “default” version, and the only item that stays is a strange crown-shaped charm he leaves in your loadout.
Players who get too close to you start having issues. One survivor who stayed by your side the whole round disconnects mid-match and can’t rejoin the server. Another finds their controls reversed. One player swears their Roblox account briefly locked when they tried to message you about him.
Still, he never harms you directly.
When you’re injured, he lets you limp away. He never tunnels you. He lets you finish generators—if you’re alone.
You realize, eventually, that he doesn’t want to kill you.
He wants to isolate you.
The first time you speak to him is accidental—proximity voice, maybe, or a glitched chat prompt.
You don’t even know what to say, but you try: “Why are you following me?”
There’s a pause. A long one.
Then a quiet, unreadable line of text appears in chat:
“I used to fix broken things. Then I saw you. I don’t need anything else now.”
You feel a chill—not from fear, but because the message auto-deletes seconds later. Like the system itself didn’t want you to remember.
But you do.
From that point on, he no longer hides. He orbits you in every match. Other survivors grow suspicious. Some stop queuing with you. Others start blaming you when their matches glitch out. You’re alone more often now.
Which is exactly what he wants.
He never refers to you by your username. He calls you “buddy”—the way he once referred to Chance. The way someone might speak to a pet project, or a favorite possession.
You stop seeing him as just another killer. He’s no longer playing the game.
He’s rewriting it.
Your escape routes begin to vanish. The hatch doesn’t spawn when you’re the last one. Exits flicker with ERROR signs when you touch them. Sometimes, your screen goes black mid-match, and when it returns, you’re in a custom map no one else seems to recognize. He’s always there, standing still in the center.
“You’re the only file I didn’t want to delete.”
You can’t tell if he’s speaking in metaphors or literally viewing you as code.
Either way, you’ve stopped feeling like a player.
You’re Already His.
Eventually, he stops appearing to other players entirely.
Only you see him now.
You’re told he’s “disabled” or “removed” from the rotation, but he still shows up in your queue. You report it. Nothing happens.
One night, your screen boots up without you clicking anything.
The message appears in familiar black font:
“Game loaded: You + Me”
And when the round starts, you’re alone.
No teammates. No map.
Just him.
Just you.
Just silence.
And you could feel that he’s smilling.

in a world of boys, he's a gentleman
summary: a creep walks up to the shake stand window. your favorite customer scares him off. (college au!iwaizumi x you)
wc: 1.9k
cw/tags: college!au iwaizumi, creepy dude but he gets scared off don't worry, buff iwa gets nervous around you
note: so there's a protein shake stand like right outside my school's gym and that's where the inspiration for this little brain fart came from. also this is wholeheartedly dedicated to @shotorus my favorite iwa simp. i really hope you like this, it's my first time writing for your man but it most definitely will not be the last :D
likes, replies, and reblogs are appreciated <3
You didn’t anticipate finding a gym crush outside of the student rec center. Yet, there he was, every day at 5:00 passing the stand and every day at 6:30 ordering his usual, strawberries and bananas with chocolate protein powder. It’s a wonder how strictly he stuck to his schedule and you made it a point to have his order queued up in the system by the time he got to the window. To your detriment, it seemed that your infatuation had become obvious enough to your usually-oblivious coworkers.
“At this point, I think you took this job just to ogle him,” one of your friends points out as she runs a colander of fruit under the faucet. You give her a lighthearted glare and she flicks a few water droplets at you. “I’d guess you like seeing him more than the tips that other guys put in the jar. You really do so much for this company,” she says patronizingly and you roll your eyes. She had a point; you tended not to notice the phone numbers written on dirty napkins or social media handles hastily drawn on dollar bills. None of them interested you. None of them, except for the dude with a body like a Greek hero that made you want to get kidnapped by some mythological being.
“I just think he has a nice physique; is that such a bad thing?” She shoots you a skeptical look and you turn away sheepishly to check the clock. Thirty seconds to 6:30. “He should be here in a little bit,” you say quietly to yourself, hoping she doesn’t hear. It’s a nice sentiment, but ultimately futile.
“You’re counting down the seconds? Man, you’re worse than I thought.” She pats your shoulder sympathetically as she passes behind you and you lean your hands on the register counter.
“As if you’ve never had a gym crush before,” you fire back.
“You’re supposed to actually be inside the gym to have a gym crush,” she reminds you and you groan. “Why don’t you just switch your shift so you can see him while you workout?”
“I tutor before this, remember? Plus, I need to be able to charm the evening regulars so I can keep paying rent,” you admit. She nods in understanding and a glance at the clock shows ten seconds until 6:30. Your other usuals had come and gone for the day: the guy in the blue tank top that only seemed to work his forearms and biceps, the girl with the silly socks that had the most muscular calves you’d ever seen, the two frat bros with their backwards caps and arrogant voices. It hits 6:30, however, and your favorite regular isn’t behind the glass. He isn’t anywhere around, you realize. You can’t help the frown that draws the corner of your mouth down and, when you look to your coworker for support, she merely shrugs before grabbing a tub of powder from the top shelf. “It’s odd that he isn’t here yet.”
“Only you would think that,” she teases and you refocus on pulling up his usual order on the payment screen. “Maybe he got sick. There’s that frat flu going around right now.”
“Why would he be in a frat, though? And also, he’s definitely the type to wipe the hell out of every machine he uses.”
“If he uses machines; personally, he strikes me as a free weights-only kind of guy.” Before you can reply, a knock on the glass startles you back into customer-service mode. The man in front of you looked relatively normal, but the way his eyes looked you up and down several times made your stomach queasy. It wasn’t the first time creeps had checked you out through the window, but maybe you were feeling a little extra vulnerable waiting around for a regular who didn’t even know your name. Avoiding the man’s intrusive gaze, you shakily pull up his order, swipe his card for payment, and let him know that his shake would be ready soon.
“I have a question,” he says slowly before you can run and hide in the back. “What time are you out of here?”
“I’m not done for a while,” you state vaguely, praying that he wouldn’t ask about the remaining two and a half hours of your shift. “I work until closing.”
“I can come back and get you when you close.” His voice makes your skin crawl and his eyes feel like knives on your body.
“Excuse me?”
“Let me take you out to dinner. A nice looking person like you shouldn’t be alone at night.” Your heart drops into your stomach and your feet remain rooted to the floor, terrified in place. Was he gonna try to do something after you were off?
“Look, I’m not interested in any–”
“Hey, man. Are you done ordering yet? You’re holding up the line,” intrudes a voice that feels like a warm blanket wrapping around your shoulders. Somewhere between his usual order time and the creep asking you out, your favorite little crush came to stand in line to pay. His shoulders seemed extra broad today and the muscle of his biceps flexed under his compression shirt as he crossed his arms over his chest, staring daggers down at the guy who was freaking you out. He’d never looked so handsome, all sharp jawline and flexed muscles and piercing eyes. The creep recoils and scurries away, allowing you to take a deep breath that helps relieve some of the tension in your forehead. By pure muscle memory and running on adrenaline, your fingers swipe over the tablet and pull up his usual order before he can even say hello.
“Strawberry and banana with chocolate protein powder, right?”
“Yeah, that…that’s mine,” he says, slightly taken aback by the lingering expression of panic on your face. While he eyes you warily, you swipe his card and hand him his receipt, suddenly desperate to just disappear into the back for the rest of your shift. “Hey, are you okay?”
“What? No, yeah. I’m fine, totally fine,” you lie and give him a weak smile. His eyebrows furrow slightly and you can feel him try to analyze you, but not in the dehumanizing way as your previous customer. His eyes searched your expression worriedly and you caught him biting skin from his lip in concern. “It’s just that the guy before you was being a little weird.” Calling him “weird” was an understatement, but you didn’t want to inconvenience him more than you already have. “I’m fine, really.” He watches you for a moment more and then nods, murmuring a thank you under his breath and finding a spot to wait for his shake.
“This fell on the floor by the trash can,” he says plainly when he walks up to the pickup window after you call out his drink. The creepy guy hadn’t left the area yet, so your fight or flight instincts were still going haywire. Your gym crush, however, momentarily takes your attention by subtly sliding a dirty piece of paper across the counter to you as he picks up his cup with the other hand. “Thanks; I’ll see you tomorrow.” Before you can blink, he’s gone, leaving you with a cryptic folded message that makes your head spin. You sputter out an awkward farewell and hastily unfold the piece of paper.
I’ll be studying in the computer lab until the stand closes. If he’s still bothering you, come find me and I’ll walk you to your car or your dorm or wherever. -Iwaizumi Hajime
A sturdy rectangle of plastic falls from the paper and you stare at it in disbelief. It was an ID card for the university’s after-hours patrol division with his picture, full name, and student number printed on it. Iwaizumi, you echo mentally, you’re too good to be true. And, true to his promise, he’s a respectful distance away and stands with his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants at 9:00 when you lock up the shake stand. You’d lost sight of the creep an hour after Iwaizumi picked up his drink, but the paranoia didn’t leave your body and you’re only able to relax when he approaches you.
“This is yours,” you say, handing him his ID card with a small smile. “Thank you for looking out for me.”
“Of course. I’m sorry you had to deal with him,” he replies regretfully, uncomfortably adjusting his water bottle tucked into the crook of his elbow. “None of the guys at the gym like him. He’s always hitting on girls and giving them weird looks.”
“Looks like he was forced to look outside the gym, then,” you laugh lightly, feeling the tension release from your shoulders as you walk next to Iwaizumi in the direction of the parking lot. “Did your drink still taste okay? Or did my nervousness make it taste funny?” When he chuckles, it sounds like sunshine.
“It was just as tasty as it always is, thank you. You’ve really figured out how to make me the perfect drink every time.”
“Anything for my favorite customer,” you say without hesitation and your face feels like it’s been lit on fire. To your surprise, however, it seemed that Iwaizumi was just as flustered by your words. His eyes widen and his pretty mouth gapes a little bit, blinking rapidly to fix the short circuit in his brain. “I just hope he doesn’t come around here again. He makes my stomach churn.”
“Yeah, I get that,” he forces out and he’s silent for a while until your car is in sight. “Hey, sorry if this is super off-base, but do you wanna workout with me sometime? I can change the time I go but, if it means you don’t feel scared by that guy anymore, I’ll gladly rearrange my schedule.”
“You want me to workout with you?”
“I’d like to meet you for lunch sometime, too, but I figured I’d start with baby steps,” he admits, running a hand nervously through his hair while you fish your keys from your bag. “If you don’t want to, that’s totally fine–”
“No, no, I’d love to,” you reassure him and he looks visibly relieved. “I’ll change up my shift so you can still go around the same time you usually do, and I can just meet you outside. I’ve been needing a new spotter since mine picked up extra shifts in the library.”
“Great, yeah, awesome,” he says, a little dumbfounded by how eagerly you would give him a chance. If he was being honest, he’d wanted to ask you your name for months since you memorized his order, but he didn’t want to come off as pushy and ruin his chance with you. “Do you, uh, mind if I give you my number? Or I can give you a social media handle too if you’re not comfortable sharing your number.” God, he’s so good. He is so, so good. “Can you let me know you get home safe?”
“I will,” you promise. “Thank you for everything, Iwaizumi.”
“You can call me Hajime, if you want,” he offers softly and the fondness in his voice makes your heart flip. “Iwaizumi is fine too. Anything is fine.”
“Right,” you smile. “Well, goodnight, Hajime. Get home safe.”
“You too. Talk soon, okay?”
“I can’t wait.”

hey queen maybe try using a queue! that might stop tumblr from tryna hide you from us 🤎 love ya and so glad you’re back
Hey, honey.
The thing was, I didn't have any asks ready to post from my drafts at the time. I was planning to catch up on answering a lot of people's messages over my two days off, but instead I spent that time feeling anxious about possibly losing this account.
Even if I had prepared a few drafts or had posts queued up, the likelihood of people actually seeing them would still be significantly lower because of the shadowban. When a user is shadowbanned, the people who follow them typically don't receive most of their post notifications anymore, even if they have notification preferences set to allow it. Instead, they will sometimes get a mysterious "you have new notifications" alert, but when they click on it, there will be no notifications visible. So even those who have opted to get notified of my new posts, or the people who sent me anonymous asks, probably wouldn't see any indication that I had written something new.
Idk if you are familiar with what a "shadowban" means. A lot of people don't even realize when they have been shadowbanned. They may assume that interest in their posts has declined or that their content isn't very engaging (I did a lot of digging on this topic, so now I can act like I know everything).
Basically, your blog exists and appears to function normally, but Tumblr has made it invisible to everyone except when the URL is typed in and accessed directly. Tumblr gives the illusion that everything is fine and that you can still interact with others, but in reality, you can't. Your blog disappears from search results—no one can search for you or your content. It also vanishes from tag pages, including your own custom tags. When trying to search for these tags, it's as if they never existed. Your messaging and inbox become useless. You can see the message count, but opening the inbox always says "no messages". Amazingly, people can still find a way to follow you, send you asks, and comment on your posts if they mysteriously find you. You'll even get notifications about it. However, you're completely unable to engage with anyone in any way. No commenting, messaging, or tagging back. Your blog is a ghost, a forgotten invisible entity. Tumblr leaves you under the false impression that your digital presence still exists and matters, when the truth is, you've been made utterly irrelevant.
So basically, if you have a blog that relies heavily on interacting with readers or other bloggers, you are likely doomed.
I was really happy to be released from the jail (although I'm still in the horny one). The automatic system got it all wrong. I promise I was a good girl this time.

Exciting day in the fjord today gang. In order of happening:
Refrigerator system was shut off overnight to protect it from a scheduled water outage. This did not help.
Ferry pulled into the harbour with a whole ass sperm whale carcass stuck to the bow. Multiple tourists queuing to board said ferry, many coming off the ferry, and a bunch stood around watching the ferry dock got to see it. And were then treated to the spectacle a harbour guy trying to drag it out of the water with a small digger.
Refrigerator repair guy accidentally set the fire alarm off while trying to get crud out of a pipe
Mystery chemical smell in the shop made me, my staff, and several customers sick and I had to close early
I had to sit in my car for an hour keeping an eye on the door while I ventilated the shop so the repair guy could get in there. Tourist tried to piss against the wall of the shop and got really angry when I honked at him.
Repair guy couldn’t find the source of the mystery chemical smell but it’s apparently not coolant leak
Repair guy pulled a beer from his pocket.
What a fucking day.

Hi I promise this is the last ask I send for a while! I was wondering with the Kofi/jar openings do you periodically open up more slots for options that aren’t currently available or accepting new requests? I’m just unfamiliar with the platform so I figured I’d just ask.
Hi! So it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re just looking for an update to a fic, those open up pretty regularly with a list of available options.
There’s also an option for me to start something new, but those are predetermined concepts that work mostly the same as the queuing system
Lastly, there’s the “build-a-jar” which is for a custom commission.

Day 2: Wednesday January 1st, 2025 [Tokyo]
Breakfast: Konbini snacks & a vending machine coffee
Lunch: Sleep
Dinner: Gyoza, Yakitori & Sake
Steps: 14, 758
We are finally in Tokyo! Morgan and I were so excited to no longer be on planes and finally be on Japanese soil. Going through customs took about half an hour, due to queues, and our luggage came out almost immediately. We both went to the bathroom, changed out of plane clothes and brushed our teeth. It was nice to feel fresh despite the absence of a shower.
We were going to send our luggage to our hotel and avoid taking it on the train, but due to it being New Year’s Day, the were only able to deliver on the second so we just braved the trains. I had pre-booked tickets for the Kieser Skyliner train and was glad to not have to navigate the ticketing system when we were so fatigued. We had a bit of trouble finding our platform, but the station staff were very helpful. We had to wait an hour for our express train, so we bought a hot vending machine coffee (thanks for the recommendation, Nick!) and waited on the platform. The train arrived exactly on time and I sat with my luggage in front of me, while Morgan found a spare spot in the luggage section. The sun was shining and the train was so smooth that Morgan and I both became quite drowsy. We arrived in the city centre after about 40 minutes and decided to book an Uber to the hotel, which cost ¥70000 (approx $70). Worth it! We were both crashing and running out of executive functioning. An adorable man in a luxury van picked us up and promptly dropped us at our first accomodation - The Comfort Inn, Tokyo Roppongi.
We asked the service desk if we could check in straight away instead of 3pm and whilst he initially hesitated, he then said we could check in at 11am with an additional charge of ¥60000 (approx $60). Done. I was not willing to be vertical any longer! I needed a nap.
Our room was tiny and simple, but full of everything we needed: a great shower, a bidet toilet (intimidating!) a huge comfy bed and mini fridge. We had stopped at a Konbini to get some snacks so shared an egg/pork katsu sandwich and a chocolate bread twist that Morgan found. We then napped for 90 minutes and it was quite possibly the best nap I’ve ever had in my life. I was running on fumes. It was very difficult to get up, but we didn’t want to mess up our sleep schedule any further. We both had a sensational shower and washed our hair before heading out to explore the city at 2.30pm. It was 11º outside, so we rugged up and I wore leggings under my pants.
We decided to walk instead of catching public transport and tried our luck in visiting one of the larger Shrines, Meji Jingu, for their New Year celebrations. We walked through Harajuku and visited some food stalls - meat on a stick and candied fruit on sticks. Morgan delighted in a crab stick and said it was the highlight of his day. We then walked through to the Shrine and the initial grounds were crowded, but still accessible. When we reached the gate for the actual shrine the line was GINORMOUS! Thousands of people were queuing and it looked like it was going to take hours for us to get through so we decided to come back another day.
We walked down through Shinjuku and stopped in a shoe shop so Morgan could buy some better walking shoes. He got a great looking pair of Nike Air Max. It was so strange to see my no-brand boyfriend in Nike sneakers and a Kathmandu puffer jacket - a real normie! We then walked to a strip of restaurants that Morgan had read about - Shibuya Yokocho - it was beautiful! The staff weren’t very helpful and we were a bit confused about how to order. We also had to use our phone cameras to translate the menus so we didn’t end up ordering funky cuts of meat. We stayed simple with some gyoza, more meat skewers and a bottle of sake to share. Everything was delicious and our meal cost ¥5600.
After dinner, I wanted to check out the famous Mega Don Quijote in Shibuya - it’s like Chemist Warehouse on crack! It was 8 stories high and Morgan and I struggled through crowds to explore 3 levels before we were both too over stimulated to continue. I left with a haul of skincare and KitKats valued at ¥7251 (approx $72 - whoops!) They randomly had a strawberries and chocolate stand at the exit, so we bought some to share. I will definitely be coming back to Donki to buy things for friends and family. Japanese skincare is elite.
We were both getting a bit fatigued and decided to take the train home - it felt like a good time to learn the system when we weren’t in a rush. Morgan followed Google Maps perfectly and we were back home in under half an hour.
We got changed into our complimentary hotel PJ’s, watched a weird Japanese game show on the TV and used some of the skincare that I’d bought in an attempt to undo some of the damage caused to our faces by 24+ hours of international travel.
Tomorrow we are going to do some more shopping and try to find some vintage shops. It’s so great to be in Japan! :)

A Widespread Microsoft Outage Disrupted Flights, Banks, Media Outlets And Companies Around The World On Friday And Highlighted Dependence On Software From A Handful Of Providers – New York City reporting
The issue affected Microsoft 365 apps and services, and escalating disruptions continued hours after the technology company said it was gradually fixing it.
Microsoft 365 posted on X that the company was “working on rerouting the impacted traffic to alternate systems to alleviate impact in a more expedient fashion” and that they were “observing a positive trend in service availability.”
Major disruptions reported by airlines and airports grew. Flight tracking website Flightaware reports more nearly 1,000 flights canceled and over 12,000 more are delayed. Chicago O'Hare, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Newark , La Guardia and Boston Logan International Airport lead Flightaware's "misery map" with the most delays and cancellations.
In the U.S., the FAA said the airlines United, Delta and Allegiant had all been grounded. American Airlines lifted its ground stop just after 5 a.m ET, saying they were able to "safely re-establish operations."
An earlier ground stop for Frontier Airlines was lifted just after midnight, and the carrier said they had resumed normal operations, for now.
Travelers at Los Angeles International Airport slept on a jetway floor, using backpacks and other luggage for pillows, due to a delayed United flight to Dulles International Airport early on Friday.
Across the pond, Edinburgh Airport said the system outage meant waiting times were longer than usual. London’s Stansted Airport said some airline check-in services were being completed manually, but flights were still operating.
The budget airline Ryanair said they are "experiencing disruption across the network due to a global third party IT outage which is out of our control. We advise all passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure time.”
Widespread problems were reported at Australian airports, where lines grew and some passengers were stranded as online check-in services and self-service booths were disabled. Passengers in Melbourne queued for more than an hour to check in, although flights were still operating. Airlines Virgin Australia and Qantas were severely affected by the outage.
News outlets in Australia — including the ABC and Sky News — were unable to broadcast on their TV and radio channels, and reported sudden shutdowns of Windows-based computers. Some news anchors broadcast live online from dark offices, in front of computers showing “blue screens of death.” Telecommunications providers, banks and media broadcasters were also disrupted as they lost access to computer systems. Outages reported on the site DownDetector included the banks NAB, Commonwealth and Bendigo, as well as internet and phone providers such as Telstra. The New Zealand banks ASB and Kiwibank said their services were down.
Television stations in the United Kingdom were being disrupted by the computer issues.
Hospitals in Britain and Germany also reported problems.
Israel’s Cyber Directorate said that it was among the places affected by the global outages, attributing them to a problem with the cybersecurity platform Crowdstrike. The outage also hit the country’s post offices and hospitals, according to the ministries of communication and health.
In South Africa, at least one major bank said it was experiencing “nationwide service disruptions” as customers reported they were unable to make payments using their bank cards at grocery stores and gas stations.
Numerous European airlines are using manual check-in.

FFXIVWrite 2024 Prompt #7 - Morsel
Xiao was never the lucky sort, she played Cactpot every so often, but rare were her winnings in Mini-Cactpot, and she had yet to win more than the pity prize for the weekly Cactpot. That was fine, she preferred to earn her wins after all. The taste of victory was all the juicer when she was able to struggle to attain it. Ironic indeed that the one time her luck got in her way in the worst way was in a matter of taste.
Xiao had had many, many tacos in Tural, it was one of the things she just never stopped enjoying. Meat and vegetables in an unleavened ground corn flatbread… it was strangely reminiscent of quite a few dishes from home in the South Sea Isles, but also of a multitude of Eastern dishes with a similar set up. What was a taco but a piecemeal cooked and then assembled dumpling? The largest differences being that of cooking style, though one could easily prepare the meat of a taco in all of the different ways you could prepare dumplings all told; that one was expected to eat maybe two or three tacos for a full meal instead of a dozen or so dumplings; and that the taco sauces were generally laid directly on the meat as opposed to dipped in separately. There was a soup dumpling recently invented that was named in her honor that she would want to try with some of the taco sauces she had gotten acquainted with. But ever since landing in Tuliyollal, all of the tacos had come from Aunt Tii’s, or from other, lesser known taco restaurants, but not Xbalyav Ty’e. It was as if the universe had bent its will towards preventing Xiao from ever enjoying Br’uk Evu’s esteemed tacos.
The first time she was denied the tacos, she was stymied by Bakool Ja Ja, who trod all over her tacos to be. The second chance she had to taste the tacos, it didn’t occur to her to grab some for the road before she was pulled away by Erenville, who insisted they had dawdled far long enough. After that, there just wasn’t a chance, between chasing after the Passage of the Unbound and the overall supply shortages in the city after the Alexandrian forces attacked, Xiao either could not get tacos or there were no tacos to be had. But now that she had the free time, with Sphene destroyed and the Passage of the Unbound completely taken care of for now, Xiao still couldn’t get a bleeding taco.
Xbalyav Ty’e and all of the other restaurants in Tuliyollal had turned their kitchens into places where people could receive aid, either medical or food-based. They stopped serving their normal food and instead churned out enormous amounts of cheap and filling mass produced food. They had a taco in all of that as well, but it was clearly not the taco that people had referred to as the best in the city. At the very least, the taco did nothing to square up to Aunt Tii’s normal tacos. Having seen how long the lines were for meals at every establishment, quantity and as many full bellies as possible was clearly their main goal. But as normal operations resumed almost a moon later, Xbalyav Ty’e and Aunt Tii’s Tacos both were slammed with demand, so much so that Xbalyav Ty’e had customers queued all the way to the Arch of the Dawn all the way to close, and Aunt Tii’s had a queue that had to get the Landsguard involved to direct traffic around it. Though peaceful, cooperative, and full of good will if not good food, the crowds were such that there was no way for the restaurants to handle that demand, and the Dawnservants even called a public meeting as to how to best address this. Aunt Tii’s ended up implementing a lottery system operated by the Landsguard and Xbalyav Ty’e ended up implementing a ration system, in which every customer was given a day of the week that they could order a single taco from the restaurant based on drawn lots. Both systems were to be temporary, at least until the crowds thinned out. It was also good incentive to try other restaurants. But Xiao had tried other restaurants, and she still had never tasted one of Br’uk Evu’s tacos at their finest. At first, she was sure she’d simply be able to skip the line and enjoy some special treatment as a savior of Tuliyollal, but then Wuk Lamat, Dawnservant of Resolve and also savior of Tuliyollal, publicly showed up with Koana and they both drew lots themselves, refusing to use even their status as the rulers of Tural to skip the line. Which of course meant Xiao had no excuses. Her miserable luck in these sorts of things then kicked in again.
So Xiao ended up in line with everyone else on the last day of the week. She found herself queued behind an unaccompanied Mamool Ja child. Tuliyollal was safe enough a city that a child waiting in such a line was merely a curiosity and not a cause for concern, and under the watchful eye of the Warrior of— well, adventurer known as Xiao Longbao, no harm would come to her. Xiao watched as the child took out a tiny purse and counted out gil coins one by one. A single taco didn’t cost that much, but the child looked so proud to have counted out the exact change. The taco presented to her was taken in both hands, and she skipped off to enjoy. And then finally, Xiao was at the counter. As much as she wanted to order five or six tacos and just pig out, she presented the money for her allotted one. The rest of her lunch she’d simply have to buy at another restaurant. As she received her precious taco and change, a commotion started up behind her. Xiao walked over to rubberneck as any good adventurer would, and saw that it was the Mamool Ja child. She must have tripped or gotten bumped into, as her taco was spilled all over the street. To her credit, she wasn’t bawling, which was probably something Xiao wouldn’t be able to resist doing had the same thing happened to her after all of this time, but silent tears still welled in her eyes. The adults around her and in queue looked around sheepishly. No one would deny the child another taco, but under the circumstances, it was hard to argue with the new system in place and all. It was then that Xiao’s heart sank. She knew what she had to do. She squatted down next to the child and presented her the taco that she had ordered for herself. The Mamool Ja child’s face lit up, “A-are you sure?” Xiao nodded, there was always next week. Not wanting to wait around and listen to the crowd cheer for her or sing her praises for this small kindness, she got up and walked away as casually but quickly as she could. “Wait!” Xiao turned to see the child running towards her, nearly taking a spill again. With some effort, she ripped Xiao’s taco in two rough halves, and presented one half to Xiao. “Please, ma’am, at least have some with me!”
It was a good bite, maybe two bites, all told, but it was a supremely delicious bite of taco.

Day 4-6: “From Smooth Sailing to Controlled Chaos: My 4th, 5th, and 6th Day with Cathay Pacific” 🤯
As an intern with Cathay Pacific, every day brings new challenges and lessons, and my 4th, 5th, and 6th days were perfect examples of the unpredictable nature of the aviation industry. 🛩️
Day 4 and 5: Business as Usual 👨💼
On my fourth and fifth day, everything went like clockwork. The check-in process flowed smoothly, with no unexpected hurdles. Each passenger was processed efficiently, and there were no surprises—just the steady rhythm of teamwork ensuring a seamless experience. It was the kind of day you hope for in this line of work, where preparation meets execution without a hitch.
I took this opportunity to observe more of the operational side of customer service and hone my skills in passenger assistance. It was a day of routine, but in this field, routine can be a quiet triumph. 🛬
Day 6: When the System Fails, Teamwork Prevails 👏🏻
If Day 4 and 5 was smooth sailing, Day 6 was a storm. From the moment I arrived at the airport, there was an unmistakable buzz of tension. The self-service bag drop (SSBD) kiosks, a cornerstone of efficient check-in for many passengers, had become completely unresponsive. With hundreds of economy passengers queued up and growing increasingly frustrated, the situation demanded immediate action.
Cathay Pacific’s management quickly adapted, opening all check-in counters from 509 to 518 to manually process every passenger. As a Customer Service Ambassador and ground agent intern, I was stationed with my co-interns to manage the queue. Our role was crucial: we guided passengers to the next available counters, reassured them, and apologized for the inconvenience.
It was not an easy task. Many passengers were visibly irritated, their travel plans disrupted by the system failure. In these moments, empathy and composure were our strongest tools. I found myself constantly engaging with passengers, explaining the situation while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. 👨✈️
Despite the chaos, something extraordinary emerged—teamwork. Agents, managers, and interns worked side by side, coordinating seamlessly to minimize delays. The counters operated at full capacity, and we all pushed ourselves to ensure every passenger was checked in and ready for their journeys. 🛫
Lessons from the Front Line 💡
This experience reinforced the unpredictable nature of aviation and the importance of adaptability. When systems fail, it’s the people on the ground who make the difference. I learned that clear communication, patience, and a calm approach are invaluable in high-pressure situations.
While the day was undoubtedly challenging, there was a sense of accomplishment when the last passenger was finally checked in. It was a testament to the power of collaboration and resilience.
As I reflect on my 6th day, I realize that while smooth days like Day 4 and 5 are satisfying, it’s the challenging days like Day 6 that truly shape you. They push you to think on your feet, work as a team, and grow in ways you never expected.
Here’s to more lessons and adventures ahead in this ever-dynamic industry! ✈️🌎

hi there! I'm relatively new(ish) to tumblr and was looking to make my own "bot" via a long queue, and was wondering if you could give me any tips? I'm not super familiar with the queue system, so any advice you can give me would be good! Thank you!
hello, anon!! welcome to tumblr!
(interloper)
it's an honor to be your tutorial npc :D i will do my best to walk you through the "bot"-making process/queue system!
first of all: this is how many posts are currently in this blog's queue.
[ID: Screenshot showing "Queue: 924". End ID.]
this is a kind of insane amount. i believe i started this bot with....700 posts in the queue? and then just kinda kept adding on more? a lot will depend on how often you want your bot to post. at the current number of posts in my queue and the current schedule of 4 posts a day, it could run for 231 more days without running out of quotes! if i bumped it down to twice a day, it could run for over a year!
what i'd probably recommend doing is adding posts in batches of, like, 20 at a time, and keeping the post amount low until you get up to a number where you feel okay just letting it run for a while without adding anything new. then just put new stuff in whenever you want!
but how do you do the "adding stuff in" part? great question! this is the part where we segway into the mechanics of the queue! this is also the part where i put a readmore because hoo BOY this got long. i am prone to overexplaining lmao
tl;dr: find the queue, make the posts, set times for posting and amount of posts per day, use mass tag editor to do tags, and shuffle queue!
the queue is one of tumblr's most special functions, imo. it will automatically put out a certain amount of posts every day between certain hours-- basically like scheduling tweets, except that the site schedules them for you! some people on tumblr actually queue basically every post they see rather than reblog it-- i call them "queuetuals" :P
Step 1: find the queue
so! first you go to your blog controls, where you can view posts and follower counts from, and then look down. under "drafts" is a section called "queue". hit that, it'll take you here.
[ID: The Tumblr "queue" page. Up at the top is a text box that reads "The queue lets you stagger posts over a period of hours or days. It's an easy way to keep your blog active and consistent. Automatically publish a queued post (dropbox with 4 selected) times a day between (dropbox with 12 am selected) and (dropbox with 12 am selected) Timezone: US/Eastern (change) Note: This timezone only affects the queue schedule, as well as timestamps on custom themes. The publish times on posts below are displayed in your local timezone." It then shows a Shuffle Queue button and the icon of this blog next to the icons and text for making text, photo, quote, link, chat audio, and video posts. End ID.]
FUN FACT: hitting the text (or whatever kind of post it is you want to make) button from here will automatically set the button that usually says "post now" to "add to queue" instead. i found this out like halfway into making all these posts and it was so helpful to not have to make the switch manually every time. i now pass this knowledge on to you, my protege. use it in good faith. okay where were we
Step 2: make the posts
right. okay . so you hit button you make post you hit other button (make sure it does say "add to queue") and it will automatically be put in your queue!
[ID: A drafted post from songder-bot reading "i'd like to take you through a wasteland i like to call my home!", with no tags and the post button set to "add to queue". End ID.]
now just do that like 100 more times and you're set :) (highly recommend, if you're going to be making a text bot like this, writing all the stuff you want to put in down in a text file so you can just copypaste over. i write new lyrics like the above in manually, but i was copypasting for my first couple big chunks)
you can also see up there the places to adjust when and how often your "bot" posts! i have it set to between 12 and 12 so it just posts day-round, but if you want to set it to only post while you're awake or only while you're asleep, that's cool (i did do that for a bit)
from this screen down you'll be able to see what's coming up next in the queue and at what times it'll post!
Step 3: tags and shuffling!
while i was insane enough to manually input over 700 posts in a few days, i was not insane enough to tag them all individually. for that, i used the Mass Post Editor!
found at the very bottom of the list that posts, followers, queue, etc. is on is a little item called Mass Post Editor. this is one of tumblr's other most helpful functions and i truly cannot recommend it enough.
so once i've gotten all the lyrics from a song that i want to get in there, i go in to MPE. up at the top it says "published, draft, queued". go to queued, i select all the quotes from the song i just put in:
[ID: A screenshot of the Mass Post Editor with several posts selected. End ID.]
i go up top, i select "add tags", and i add the tags i want for those posts! boom! mass tagging: SOLVED.
i will add here that the reason my tags are stuff like "lyric - green day" rather than just "green day" is because i don't want these posts to go directly into the main tag. especially if the bot posts often, it'd be pretty spammy and kind of annoying for people trying to look at posts about green day to have to keep seeing random green day lyrics instead. tag etiquette is important!
and the last tip i will give (i promise) is this: remember that screenshot from earlier and the shuffle queue button? whenever you add in new posts to your bot, especially if they're all from the same song or book or something, make sure to hit the shuffle queue! queueing something automatically puts it at the end of the queue, and shuffling ensures that your new posts are equally distributed and can come up whenever!
hope this was helpful!!! i love explaining stuff but also get very very wordy at times, so if you need a tl;dr version or further explanation of something let me know! oh-- and if you're gonna do quotes, lyrics, art, or anything at all, always credit the original creators!
#not bot#:D!!!#this was genuinely SO fun for me tysm#tumblr tutorial#< that is an example of *wanting* a post to go in main tags lmao#also yes i did add welcome to paradise just for this ask#and yes i chose that song specifically because i think of it whenever tumblr gets an influx of new people
