Bad Luck.
Disclaimer: I'm writing this from the past! Hahaha! Anyways, there could be some hidden clues that relate back to the 'His Poppy' story. If you look closely enough. This wasn't supposed to be sooo long but I got carried away. Also, I'm hoping to get a little drabble out every Friday for October. Brainstorming as we speak!
Warnings: None to my knowledge.
Pairing: Morpheus x fem!reader. Can be seen as just friends atm.
Word count: 1276. It was only supposed to be 500....
The prompt idea came from here!
Tumblr media
Black cat + “You’ll get bad luck”
The fog was settling in for the evening as the two made their way down the sidewalk. This was the perfect season if anyone asked you and your best friend had accompanied you to one of the many department stores for some seasonal shopping. There was never too much spooky decor, and you had the bags to prove it on each arm. Some were for diy crafts and the other was some scented candles that would only add to the aesthetic of your home. The walk had been quiet and enjoying the scenery of the leaves that had changed, not minding some that crunched while they walked.
“I think today was more successful than we had planned..” Myla spoke as she gently nudged your side. Even she had been caught up in the season's spirit and indulged herself some. Myla was one of your oldest friends that was always there to join whatever might come up and even add her support. She never let you leave the store without the one item or whatever that you really wanted. She was simply being a good friend. Those were her words. Yet, she was one of the greatest friends around.
“I have to agree even if I don’t think the skull candle holder was really a self-care purchase…” You laughed before glancing at the brick fence that ran down the street. That’s when you finally noticed the rather large black cat that was following along with the both of you. Lips twitching into a smile, you did your best not to pay too much attention. Ignoring the deep meows that were echoing behind as they kept walking. It wasn’t often a stray cat followed humans, mostly they kept away or hissed if they got too close. However, this one seemed interested in them, or rather, one of them.
The breeze ruffled Myla’s hair as she looked over at the cat-shaped shadow that kept lurking a few feet away from them. “You’ll get bad luck…” Myla spoke while she nodded towards the cat. The cat had approached you once more and the crunch of the leaves made you look at it again before slowly approaching. Kneeling down to allow the cat to sniff at your finger.
“Bad luck? Who told you that?” You hadn’t believed that such a beautiful creature could ever be bad luck. Especially not this one. This one when you looked into its eyes, well, they mirrored the starry night.
“I’m more worried the feral beastie might try to bite you. Come on, lovely. Let’s get you home…”
Scratching the chin of the stray and giving a little wink, you stood up and made your way back to Myla and headed on the last leg of your journey. Parting ways with Myla with a hug in front of the apartment complex. You started inside and watched as your new friend scurried up the steps. Peeking down to watch to see if you were following. A knowing smile played on your lips while you took your time climbing the stairs, peeking out the windows to enjoy the night. Watching as the street lights slowly came on. Fishing the key out of your pocket, you unlocked the door and watched as the cat ran past your legs and into the darkness, a shape taking form in the chair at the kitchen table.
“You’re late…”
“And you’re nosey. I told you it was a girl’s day, and I intended to enjoy it…”
Setting the bags on the table, Morpheus watched as you made your way around the dining room. Placed a few things on the table and inspected if they looked like they belonged. Something he wouldn’t admit that he did, but the Dreaming was his realm and he was proud of the things that he had hand carved or added on his own. His creations. Seeing how the apartment got decorated for the upcoming season, Morpheus couldn’t help but to admire all the work that had been put into the flat. It was cozy.
“Myla thinks you’re bad luck…”
“No, she thinks the cat is…”
A chuckle left your lips before you made your way to where he sat and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. His hand comes up to rest over the top of yours.
“I really like the whole giant cat form. You’re very cute in that form.” You mumbled with your chin on his shoulder.
“Am I? I think I could sneak into your apartment and you would have confused me with some of your decor…”
Faking a gasp, a hand playfully swatted at his chest and even he let out a rare chuckle.
“You promised we would start our movie marathon that you insisted on…”
“That I insisted on? C’mon, you were putting in your vote for some of those movies too…”
Morpheus had only voted for the ones that you liked and had forgotten about, but he wouldn’t reveal that just yet. He also wouldn’t admit that he had been secretly looking forward to the night’s activities and enjoying his time with you. Even if he wasn’t certain about some films and wasn’t sure if he was interested, the thought of you getting excited and explaining things to him made it all worth it. Seeing the way your face lit as you mouth the words to your favorite scenes. It was more than worth it…
There was hesitance as he allowed himself to get comfortable in your home. It had been some time since he had felt drawn to a human… Nada being the first and he still hadn’t forgiven her for what had occurred, but there was something about you.
You were different, but he wasn’t sure if you were aware of such things….
He had seen your dreams, and they weren’t simply dreams. No, they were more like memories…
Every time he wanted to speak with you about them, he would stop himself. Maybe there was a reason you had them locked away, but why did he always feel so drawn to you? To be close to you, learn about you…
“Oneiros… Are you coming?”
Morpheus’s brow furrowed when he heard the name fall from your lips. He completely forgot the question as he turned to face you. How did you know that name? It was possible that you had looked it up and were teasing him, but yet the look in your eyes. The eyes he could get lost in said something different…
It couldn’t be…
“What did you say?” He asked in a more stern tone. A tone that he noted made you shiver just a little before fiddling with your fingers.
“I said Morpheus, are you coming? The movie is on and ready and I have my themed pajamas on…” You answered while he pieced the moment together. You hadn’t said that at all… You hadn’t called him Morpheus… Or had you and he misheard…
“Yes…”
The rest of the evening he couldn’t take his eyes away from you even if you kept pointing to the screen and telling him he was missing good parts. There was also something else that he was missing. Something he thought was important but couldn’t put his finger on it. Maybe tonight wasn’t the time, but he knew he had much to look into but for the time being, he sat watching the first movie with you… Pushing the doubts away as you mouth the words to Addams Family…
Even if he felt a hint of jealousy when Gomez appeared on the screen. This gentleman had many appearances in the dreams of others and yours…

Hi praline! I just wanted to know if you have any Scott or Thomas headcanons. Totally fine if u don’t have any or need some time :)))
-NTK
Hello, what a wonderful ask, I have several!
- Scott lives in an old mansion with lots of wood detailing. His bedroom is up in the attic and there’s a small balcony up there too. He even has a projector above his bed to watch movies.
- Thomas has really good hand-eye coordination, which is rather useful in fencing (or for throwing trash from across the room without standing up).
- Scott is a DIY guy. LOTR cosplay? Done it. Button ripped off his sleeve cuff? Easy fix. D&D miniature painting? How fun. (DIY in the creative sense, like fiber arts, but ngl Scott having handyman knowledge is kind of appealing… 🤔💭)
- Thomas is interested in motorbikes (I think that it would be cool if he and Nicholas were motorcycle buddies in a fic, I plan to write one in the future).
- Scott knows how to ride a horse, at least proficient enough to ride one on his own, courtesy of being friends with Sungchul.
- Gift-giving is not Thomas’ main love language, but giving baked goods sure is easy.
- Despite my previous headcanon that Thomas likes to bake as a hobby, I don’t think that he’s a stress baker.
- Scott is a cat person, but he doesn’t mind dogs.
- Thomas and Aster have pollen allergies. They both have OAS (Oral allergy syndrome, it’s basically an allergy to pollen fruits, but it varies from person to person). Thomas is mildly allergic to cherries, while Aster is allergic to strawberries.
You can also check out my pinned post for other headcanons, or this one for more on Scott and Thomas.

Copper
As soon as I graduated college (and even before), all I wanted to be was a dog mom. When I first moved to Charlotte I signed up to be a Rover dog sitter just to be around dogs, because I knew the time wasn’t right for me to get one of my own. All of my friends had dogs they could take to dog bars, breweries and parks, and I so desperately wanted to be able to do the same thing with a one of my own.
A few months after moving to Charlotte, I signed up to be a foster/adopter through a local Boxer rescue. At the time I didn’t understand why, but it didn’t work out, and I was never matched with anyone.
Almost a year later, in May of 2018, I settled into my new apartment in Huntersville and my life felt more stable than it had since moving to Charlotte. I felt ready.
I found Petfinder.com, a website that lists dogs and cats from different rescues and shelters that were available for adoption. I applied for probably 10 different dogs, none of which worked out for seemingly no reason that I could find.
One day, I was browsing through the site like normal, when I came across a skinny, beautifully colored boxer. I put in an application, met him in person, and took him home 6 days later.
I wish I could say our bond was immediate, but it wasn’t. In all honesty, Copper liked Jake more than me and most days in that first month I thought he hated me. He was reserved and wanted his space, and was not as affectionate as I was to him.
Over time, of course, that all changed. He trusted me more and more each day. When I quit my full time job and was home with him doing graduate work every day, we bonded very quickly. I was able to do more with him in the day, and “more” turned into everything.
He went with me on car rides and walks to Starbucks, and inside any store that was pet friendly (even some that weren’t).
I took him to nursing homes, and an adult day center where he very politely visited with the older adults that admired his beautiful color and gentle demeanor. Copper was a conversation started for residents to reminisce about the pets they once had, and tell me how lucky I was to have him. He was always gentle, but with them, he seemed to understand the importance of being even more tender and patient.
We learned quickly that Copper wasn’t dog friendly, which nixed a lot of the plans I made for us in my head. He couldn’t go to dog parks, or hike on busy trails, or visit breweries with us. We pivoted, though. I found an elementary school playground that was mostly fenced in, and we would take him there to chase the ball and get his zoomies out. We would take him in stores because other dogs wouldn’t be there, and Jake took him disc golfing every chance he could- which was arguably his favorite activity.
Copper wasn’t interested in toys either unless there was food involved. He wasn’t the type of dog that would chew on a bone, or rip apart a plush toy. He was too human for all that stuff. So we pivoted again. I got all too familiar with enrichment activities for dogs, and mastered them. Puzzle toys, lick mats, DIY sniff mats, and anything I could create for him to keep his mind busy, and engaged.
Copper and I spent Thanksgiving of 2018 just the two of us, in Huntersville. I took him for a ride, we walked on the greenway, ran around the school playground, ate dinner and watched a movie. No offense to the humans in my life, but that was my favorite Thanksgiving of all time. It was simple, and wordless, and full of love.
I powered through grad school the rest of that year, and into 2019. In May 2019, on my last day of class an active shooter opened fire in the building next to me. The days following were quiet, as I hadn’t yet started my job and everyone else was at work. It was just me, Copper, and all of my anxious thoughts. He didn’t know it, but he carried me through the aftermath of those days. I felt like I couldn’t be alone, and thank God, I wasn’t. He never left my side, and provided a sweet quiet comfort that only a dog can.
When I took a full time job after graduation, Jake started taking him to work at his asphalt plant’s lab every other day. We joked that Copper was in charge of “morale” for the company. People at the plant loved him, and every day he got to walk around off-leash and follow Jake around the plant. He was the happiest boy on those days.
In March 2020, with the uncertainty of what Covid-19 would do to my job and to the world, I packed up everything I could fit in my car, and Copper and I went to Mississippi. Copper and I spent that summer painting my parents’ house, going to the beach, missing Jake, chasing ducks (Copper, not me), going on daily walks with my dad, fighting a crab (also just Copper), going on rides in the front seat of my dad’s truck, and virtually anything else he wanted to do. As bad as the circumstances were, he (and my parents) kept me grounded and calm. He gave me purpose when everything around me felt uncertain, and I can never thank him enough for the reassurance he gave me that summer.
When I got back to Charlotte in August, Jake (and Copper) proposed. Copper got back into his routine of going to work with Jake on the days I had to go into the office, and he was home with me the rest of the time. We made many more road trips to Mississippi, hiked several mountains and trails that fall, and planned a wedding. There were ups and downs that year, but as with most hard times I went through, he was the positive note that I ended every day on. I felt like I’d known him and had him my whole life. I simply did not remember what life was like before him, and had no interest in remembering or ever finding out.
Our wedding was my favorite day for many reasons. But as most things in my life, Copper is at the center of the funniest memories. During our ceremony, he paced throughout the audience, politely greeting everyone up and down the aisles. He bounced behind Jake and I as we walked away from the altar after saying “I do.” He begged for a piece of wedding cake and food from the caterer, and no doubt he scored a bite of each at some point.
He became the collective responsibility of the wedding party and attendees throughout the night. I’m sure several people took it upon themselves to take him outside, and when he wasn’t dancing with us or walking through the crowd of people, he could be found laying next to me on my wedding dress train, or unsupervised riding up and down the elevator. We’re still not sure how he managed that.
Shortly after our wedding, life hit me hard and fast as my health rapidly deteriorated and my autoimmune disease spun out of control. Being young and chronically ill is isolating. The world continued to move around me, and people carried on with their activities in the summer and social lives while I stayed on the couch or in bed. For me, time stopped because it had to.
My therapist told me that Copper’s death may hit me particularly hard because as someone with a chronic illness, there are fewer safe spaces for me in the world and fewer people that understand. Copper always understood, though, and he was always a safe space for me. He didn’t whine on particularly bad pain days when I couldn’t take him for long walks, or when we suddenly stopped going on hikes. He just stayed with me. When the world continued to move and I had to stop, he stopped too. He didn’t love me any less when my face swelled from the steroids, or when I couldn’t do anything without an ice pack to my ear. Jake traveled for work so often during those 2 years. And so many nights, it was just me and Copper. Multiple times on those occasions, I explained to him that he was never allowed to die, and that we would simply have to be buried on the same day, because I don’t know how I would survive nights alone without him.
When Jake and I started looking into buying a house, our number one criteria was a fenced in backyard for Copper. He had lived in either an apartment or townhouse his entire time with us, and while he never lacked anything, we wanted to give him that. When our house became our worst nightmare, we always found peace in the fact that “at least Copper has a backyard.” He made this wretched house feel like a home.
When I found out the lump on his jaw, I don’t think the word heart break begins to describe the pain we felt. I felt like my world caved in on itself.
I always knew our time with him was finite, but I never actually willed myself to imagine the end of it. The month following his diagnosis was hard, and simultaneously felt insufferably long but entirely too short. I spent every day after his diagnosis managing his medications, managing the side effects of those medications, listening to his breathing, waking up throughout the night if he breathed funny or rustled even a little.
I struggled to find a way to keep him safe and healthy, but for the first time in his life, I couldn’t do that. There was no amount of vet visits or calls to my mom about symptoms that could stop time or reverse what was coming. We felt so helpless. Every day was suffocating.
The steroids made so many symptoms worse, and the pros did not outweigh the cons. Watching my big, strong, protective dog decline at the rate he did was the greatest heartbreak of my life- up to that point. I told him every day to let me know when he was ready, and I promised I would never let him suffer. People say that dogs often wait to die until they know it’s time. I told him to hold on until my mom came and got to say goodbye, and for me to return from a day trip to Atlanta. And he did exactly that.
Copper passed a month and half after his diagnosis.
Our house doesn’t feel like a home anymore without him. His absence is unbearable, and the silence in my everyday life is deafening. I feel like he took a part of me with him when he left. I don’t yet know what that part was, or when I’ll one day need it and realize it’s gone.
I’ve been without him for 18 days, 432 hours, and 25,920 minutes.
Every day I wake up and wonder what’s going to send me into tears, and what tiny habit I’ll find myself doing just to realize I don’t need to do it anymore. It’s been 18 days since I’ve stroked the white patch of hair in between his eyes, or put hot dogs in his toy, or found any purpose in going on a walk around the neighborhood. This is the longest I have ever been without him.
I rescued Copper once, but he rescued me hundreds of times. I think I always needed him more than he needed me.
I don’t know if I’ll ever love a dog the way I loved him, but maybe that’s for the best.
But I do know now why none of those other dogs worked out for me. He was mine before I knew who he was, and I was meant to be his mom. It was the privilege and joy of my life to take care of him and make him the center of my world.
He taught me how to be patient, and how to be angry at a situation but not him. He taught me that just showing up, and being present means more than the words you can or can’t offer to someone who is hurting or sick. He taught me that the past is an important indicator of the future, but doesn’t define it. He taught me that animals and people who are sometimes hard to love, are still worth loving. He taught me that I was capable of a love so great, it changed my life, and influenced the lives of many others. He taught me that time and persistence can heal wounds, and create space for new things.
He taught me that you can’t buy love, but you can rescue it.

Top 5 Oil Removers For Driveways: A Review
Tumblr media
Hey there! Let’s chat about a problem that's as annoying as a splinter – those stubborn oil stains on your driveway. We all know how they can make your driveway look like it's had a rough night. Don't worry, I've got your back. I'm diving into the world of oil remover for driveways, and I'll walk you through the top five picks, just like I would if we were neighbors swapping home care tips over the fence. The Tough Love: Industrial-Strength Degreasers Okay, first up are the heavyweights – industrial-strength degreasers. They're like that super strong coffee that kicks you into gear on a slow morning. Slap this on your oil stain, give it some time to work its magic, and you'll see that spot fade faster than your enthusiasm for a Monday morning. But, a heads-up: These big guns can be tough on the environment. It's kind of like using that really strong cleaner that warns you to wear gloves. Effective, but with a side of caution. Just For Concrete: Specialized Concrete Cleaners Moving on, we've got cleaners specially made for concrete driveways. These are like those fancy, specific kitchen gadgets you use for just one thing – they do their job perfectly. They seep deep into concrete and lift out the oil, leaving your driveway looking spick and span. The thing is: They’re typically not for all driveway types and can be a bit more expensive – kind of like splurging on that single-purpose kitchen tool. Eco-Friendly Route: The Gentle Approach For those who tread lightly on the earth, there are eco-friendly options. These might take a bit longer to work as oil remover for driveways, but they're as gentle on your driveway as a homemade facial scrub is on your skin. Just remember: Patience is a virtue here. You might need to scrub a bit more, but it's worth it for the peace of mind. Diy Mix: Good Ol’ Home Remedies For the DIY crowd, there's the baking soda, dish soap, and hot water mix. It’s like whipping up a home remedy for a cold – a little messy, but surprisingly effective for new stains. Keep in mind: This method might struggle with those tougher, older stains – kind of like how that home cold remedy can’t tackle everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2uACuEGD4k The Professionals: Commercial Oil Removers Lastly, we've got the commercial oil removers – the pros. They're like calling in a chef to cook your dinner. They know what they're doing and get the job done efficiently, especially on those really stubborn stains. The downside? They can be pricey and might come with some harsh chemicals, so read those labels like you would a complicated recipe. The Nitty-Gritty Of Getting Oil Out Now, when it comes to oil remover for driveways, the approach matters as much as the product. Start by soaking up as much oil as possible – cat litter or sawdust works wonders. Then, choose your cleaner based on your driveway type, the stubbornness of the stain, and your eco-preferences. A Little Tip On Driveway Care: Safe Thaw Is A Winner And hey, while we're talking driveways and how to clean oil on concrete, let’s touch on winter care. Traditional salt and chloride-based ice melts can really do a number on your driveway, leading to more repairs down the line. It's like using a harsh facial scrub every day – not the best idea. That’s where Safe Thaw can make a big difference. It’s a chloride-free, toxin-free ice melt that treats your driveway right. Think of it as the gentle, yet effective, skincare routine for your driveway – it clears up the ice without the damage. Plus, it’s eco-friendly, so you’re doing right by your driveway and the planet. How dare I to harness a cat
May the 4th (be with you) 2024.
☑ Made a H-shaped DIY cat harness using two robe belts.
☑ Successfully applied it to The Cat, who was complaining occasionally and seemed not to mind it too much.
☑ Took The Cat to the back lawn for a test. A bird screamed and he dashed to the bird / hole in the fence to the outside world.
☑ Pulled the leash. The Cat rolled and tried harder to dash in different directions.
☑ Got hold of one of the cat's arms. That's when he was completely out of the harness/leash.
☑ Held The Catatonic Cat back with multiple bleeding spots on my arm.
☑ The Cat is still staring at me in the far corner of the house in case I go nuts on him again.

12 clever ways to reuse plastic bottles
Tumblr media
Plastic bottles have become one of the most common forms of litter around the world, causing environmental damage and harm to wildlife. However, with a little creativity and innovation, plastic bottles can be transformed into useful and practical items, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. In this article, we will share 12 clever ways to reuse plastic bottles.
Tumblr media
Bird Feeders
Transform plastic bottles into bird feeders by cutting out windows and filling the bottles with birdseed. Hang them outside and watch as birds come to feed. If you're looking for a fun and eco-friendly DIY project, consider transforming your old plastic bottles into bird feeders. Not only will you be helping to reduce plastic waste, but you'll also be providing a much-needed source of food for our feathered friends. Here's how to create your own plastic bottle bird feeder in just a few simple steps. Materials: - Plastic bottle (2-liter soda bottles work well) - Scissors or craft knife - String or twine - Wooden spoons or dowels - Birdseed Instructions: - Start by cleaning and drying your plastic bottle thoroughly. - Using a pair of scissors or a craft knife, cut two holes on opposite sides of the bottle, approximately 3-4 inches from the bottom. - Cut two more small holes just above the bottom holes, on either side of the bottle. These holes will be used to insert the wooden spoons or dowels. - Insert the wooden spoons or dowels through the bottom holes and out through the side holes. These will serve as perches for the birds. - Tie a length of string or twine around the neck of the bottle, creating a loop for hanging the feeder. - Fill the bottle with birdseed through the top opening. - Hang the feeder from a sturdy tree branch or hook, making sure it's at a height where you can easily reach it to refill it. And voila! You now have your very own plastic bottle bird feeder. Not only is it a great way to recycle old plastic bottles, but it's also a fun and educational activity to do with kids. Plus, watching the birds come to your feeder is sure to bring a smile to your face. Tips: - Make sure to choose a location for your feeder that's away from any potential predators, such as cats or squirrels. - Clean and refill your feeder regularly to prevent mold and bacteria growth. - You can also decorate your feeder with paint, stickers, or other embellishments to make it more visually appealing.

Vertical Planters
Cut off the top of a plastic bottle and fill it with soil and plants. Attach it to a wall or fence to create a vertical planter that takes up minimal space. Transforming plastic bottles into vertical planters is a great option. Not only is it a cost-effective way to repurpose old bottles, but it also allows you to grow a variety of plants in a small area. Here's how to create your own plastic bottle vertical planter in just a few simple steps. Materials: - Plastic bottles (2-liter soda bottles work well) - Scissors or craft knife - Twine or rope - Soil - Plants or seeds Instructions: - Begin by cleaning and drying your plastic bottles thoroughly. - Using a pair of scissors or a craft knife, cut off the top of the bottle, just below the neck. - Cut a small hole in the center of the bottle cap, large enough to thread the twine or rope through. - Thread the twine or rope through the hole in the bottle cap and tie a knot at the end. - Fill the bottom of the bottle with soil, leaving enough room for the plant roots. - Insert your plant or seeds into the soil and add more soil as needed. - Continue this process with additional bottles, tying them together with the twine or rope to create a vertical planter. - Hang the planter from a sturdy hook or bracket, making sure it's secure and level. And there you have it, your very own plastic bottle vertical planter! Not only is it a great way to repurpose old bottles, but it also allows you to grow a variety of plants in a small space. Plus, it's an easy and fun project to do with kids. Tips: - Choose plants that are suited for the amount of light and space you have available. - Make sure to water your plants regularly and fertilize as needed. - You can also decorate your vertical planter with paint, stickers, or other embellishments to make it more visually appealing.

Create a watering can by poking small holes in the lid of a plastic bottle. Fill it with water, and you have a practical watering can to nourish your plants. Transforming plastic bottles into watering cans! With just a few simple steps, you can create your very own watering can that's both functional and environmentally friendly. Materials: - Plastic bottle (1 or 2-liter soda bottles work well) - Scissors or craft knife - Needle or thumbtack - Hot glue gun or strong tape - Metal or plastic shower head (optional) Instructions: - Begin by cleaning and drying your plastic bottle thoroughly. - Using a pair of scissors or a craft knife, cut off the top of the bottle just below the neck. - Poke several small holes in the bottle cap using a needle or thumbtack. These will be the watering holes for your plants. - If you have a metal or plastic shower head, you can attach it to the cap using a hot glue gun or strong tape. This will help to distribute the water evenly and prevent damage to your plants. - Fill the bottom of the bottle with water and screw on the cap. - Test your watering can by tipping it over and letting the water flow through the holes. - If you're having trouble with the water flow, you can adjust the size of the holes or the placement of the shower head. And there you have it, your very own plastic bottle watering can! Not only is it a cost-effective way to water your plants, but it also helps to reduce plastic waste by repurposing old bottles. Tips: - For a more decorative look, you can paint or decorate your watering can with stickers or other embellishments. - Choose plants that are suited for the amount of water they need and the type of soil you're using. - Make sure to clean your watering can regularly to prevent bacteria and mold buildup.

You can either cut a slot into the plastic using a craft knife or use tape to create a slot. - Decorate your piggy bank using paint or decorative paper. You can create a pig face using construction paper or paint on eyes, a nose, and a mouth. - Glue the top portion of the bottle back onto the bottom portion to create your piggy bank. Materials Needed: - Plastic bottles (2-liter or 20-ounce) - Scissors - Marker or pen - Ruler - Potting soil - Plant seeds or seedlings Step 1: Clean and dry the plastic bottles The first step is to clean and dry the plastic bottles thoroughly. Make sure there is no residual liquid left inside the bottles. Step 2: Cut the bottles into halves Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut the bottles into two equal halves. You can use either a 2-liter or 20-ounce bottle, depending on the size of the planter trays you want to make. This will ensure that excess water can drain out of the trays, preventing waterlogging and root rot. Step 6: Fill the trays with potting soil Fill the planter trays with potting soil, leaving some space at the top for planting seeds or seedlings. Step 7: Plant your seeds or seedlings Plant your seeds or seedlings in the potting soil, following the instructions on the seed packet or plant label. Step 8: Water your plants Water your plants gently, making sure not to overwater them. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Step 9: Place your planter trays in a sunny location Place your planter trays in a sunny location, where your plants can get plenty of sunlight. Make sure to monitor the moisture level of the soil and water your plants regularly. In conclusion, transforming plastic bottles into planter trays is a simple and easy DIY project that anyone can do. It's a great way to reduce waste and create a beautiful garden at the same time. DO WIRELESS CAT FENCES WORK?
“Why does my cat keep running away?”
“How to stop my cat from escaping?”
“How to build a fail-proof fencing for my cat?”
After reading a couple of blogs with titles like these, you will find out that conventional fencing is not going to work for an escape artist.
Cats are known for their irksome behaviour of always jumping and running away. No matter how unique your fence design is, the kitty will soon figure out a way to explore the world outside its home territory.  Therefore, most pet parents swear by the innovative solution of an electric cat fence, more correctly known as an electronic cat fence australia.
The pet containment system works wonders for pets that are infamous for roaming in the neighbourhood. An electric (electronic) cat collar fence system comes with a collar receiver and a transmitter that sends a signal via a cable to train your pet.  The cable is buried under the ground and works best for yards and driveways. However, when you have to design territories inside your house, burying wires under the ground is definitely not a feasible option.
An electronic or electric cat fencewireless system is best suited for indoor use. You can create pet free zones and keep your cat off-limits, such as the kitchen island, dining table, couch area or home office.
Tumblr media
How does a wireless cat fence work?
As discussed above, a wired pet containment system has cables buried under the ground to send signals. A wireless invisible cat fence works on a similar principle, except you get a wireless transmitter. The portable containment system works on similar engineering principles to a wired fencing product.
The transmitter comes with a signal field of 0 to 3 metres and can efficiently train your cat to keep its claws off the couch or your office files. Your cat wears a collar receiver that delivers audible warnings when it approaches the pet-free zone.
There are various models available, in which you can use the same collar receiver for both indoor wireless systems and outdoor wired containment zones.
How long does it take to create pet-free zones?
When you DIY a cat fence barrier, keep one thing in mind - that training and consistency are essential. It takes weeks and sometimes even months to teach your cat about areas that are off-limits.
When you use a wireless fence, you need to mark the perimeter with white flags. With adequate training, your cat learns to avoid entering areas which are delineated by a line of marker flags.
To put it simply, wireless containment systems are equally efficient to wired fencing systems. Cats can be successfully trained to stay off-limits for both indoor and outdoor areas. Make sure to follow the training protocol and give adequate time for your cat to learn the new pet-free zones that you have created in your living room.

Week 132, Day 919.
I’ve been busy getting used to my new life of working from home (WFH). To say that the transition has been easy would be a lie, but it’s also not been as hard as I thought it would be. I have been following WFH guidelines mentioned in my previous post; I even wore make up today to feel like I’m actually going to work! I have also found further helpful tips on how to be productive WFH, primarily this video by Zanna Van Dijk, who has been WFH for the last 5 years. 💡
My biggest issue with WFH has been the immense influx of communication from everyone I know. My phone has not stopped notifying me of yet another message/email/call/GIF/meme/photo/post that I urgently need to reply to. I appreciate that social distancing is difficult and that people are trying to find other ways to keep in touch, but when you are trying to get on with work, especially when that work is a PhD, it can be really hard to focus with the constant bombardment of information. Life is overwhelming enough. So I started to turn my phone off. It has done me wonders. Sorry everyone, but I have to put my work and my well-being first if I am gong to be of any use to to you. 📵

Something that everyone is talking about at the moment is managing mental health during these ‘unprecedented times’. For me, managing my mental health has been a lifetime career, I therefore haven’t found it all that difficult discovering ways to manage it in these social distancing times. For me, routine is of utmost importance, both during work and ‘play’. I make sure that I have a ‘to-do’ list for my work schedule, which includes regular breaks. In these breaks, and other free time, I have tried to either do something physical, like going for a run, or something creative, like painting my garden fence or cross-stitching.
Photo: My garden fence painting progress. I have run out of paint for now and am desperately awaiting a delivery from Homebase. It has been almost impossible to find any DIY equipment; it seems the entirety of the UK has picked up some kind of crafty hobby to cope. Source: Phone camera.
Tumblr media
Being creative has been fundamental in keeping me afloat. I am fortunate enough to live with my other half, and we have been finding ways to do creative things together and things we normally don’t have time to do. For instance, we have started a 3000 piece puzzle, which has taken up most of the floor space in our office room and is most definitely keeping us entertained. We are also doing Jason Vale’s ‘juice yourself slim’ seven day ‘launch’ programme, which is a super fun health kick kind of challenge. I have done this ‘reboot’ twice before and have always felt miles better afterwards, so was super eager to repeat it a third time. What I am trying to say is use this time wisely, allow your priorities to realign, spend time with loved ones, create, do all those things you keep putting off, re-evaluate your life choices, become a better human being and take this version of yourself forward, beyond this pandemic. ✨
Have a great week y’all! Stay safe and stay at home! 🏡

She’s starting to get old and struggle up and down the garden fence, so I built iplantscat a very basic ‘fence-shelf’ to provide her with a staged ascent and descent. . It has been extremely well received and is now her premier outdoor lounging spot. . As a design concept I think there is a great deal of opportunity to explore adding shelves to fences and walls that we often don’t do. . #cat #iplantscat #shelves #catsofinstagram #silvertabby #silvertabbiesofinstagram #britishshorthaircat #fence #fencing #constructiondetailing #designopportunities #diy (at Crowborough, East Sussex) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAdTf_vnMEx/?igshid=5fd02mibvun6
