A consistent problem in TES games since Arena is how Mages are always at a disadvantage early in the game. It's really frustrating. Warrior and Rouge bulds can always find new weapons and armour in chests or by looting enemies, but finding new spells anywhere is extremely rare.

It's extremely unbalanced because non-magic builds will be at level 20 and they probably already found at least 15 different varietie of their preferred weapons. Meanwhile, Mages can be level 20 and still be stuck with their starting spells. The only reliable way to get new spells is to buy them from other mages, and they're usually really pricey. Meanwhile, you never really need to buy a weapon as a Warrior/Rouge, since all the best weapons in the game are lootable or quest rewards.

I want to say I pray BGS finally fixes this issue in tes6, but again, this has been an issue since the very first Elder Scrolls game, so I won't get my hopes up. But it really shouldn't be this frustrating to play a Mage.
