#Daki and Gyutaro adopt Rui

Heyo! Aww, gosh I freaking LOVE THIS! I don't usually write for Daki and Gyutaro- mainly cause the opportunity is sparse, but here we are! And LEE RUI! My weakness- my soft spot; my precious BOY! I've gotcha covered, anon! :3

Despite his best efforts- the spider family within Natagumo Woods was…lacking. Even though he shared his blood with all of them, even when they all matched him in appearance and referred to him as “Brother Rui”, even when they did as he requested- it didn’t feel like the bond he craved. They did his every command like soldiers given orders: gestures that should feel loving in theory were stiff, and any games they played they always let Rui win out of fear.

He knew it was of his own making; this pretend family of theirs was never gonna feel right. Still- he needed them around for practicality. Having as many demons there meant food was never scarce, and it pleased Lord Muzan the numbers he reported back.

In the end of the day- he supposed it wasn’t all too bad, really.

For what he lacked in the forest, he unexpectedly gained at the castle.

“Come here!” Hands grabbed him from behind as Rui exited the main room. The Lower Moons had been summoned for their yearly quota, so he figured he wouldn’t run unto any of the upper ranked. “There you are, little spider! I’ve been looking for you!”

“L-lady Daki?” He yelped upon seeing her grinning face. Her hair was still stained black- she must have just gotten back from the district. “Can I help you?”

“I thought I told you before- drop the lady part! I hate it.” Something dark passed over her expression before she was grinning again, pulling him in her arms and spinning him around. “If you want to call me anything, call me Big Sister Daki! You’re only what- a few centuries younger right?”

Big sister. So many spiders in his forest call themselves that by his order, but they didn’t feel genuine. This…this did. “B-Big sister, Daki?”

“There you go! And Gyutaro- he’s your big brother. I’ll get him to go with it, don’t worry.” When she put him back down, he was slightly dazed- more so at the claim then the twirls she pulled. “As your official big demon sister- I want in on this whole game you got going on with Lord Douma and Akaza.”

“Game?”

“Yeah! They always play with you whenever you come by- I want to play too! We both do, right Gyo?” She grinned as her brother emerged from her back, landing on his feet with ease.

“Don’t speak for me so easily, Daki! But…yeah, I guess so.” He shrugged, eyes curious as he looked down at the wide eyed spider. “Why so shocked? Don’t like what you see?”

“No…No, that’s not it.” Was he hearing this right? Two moons willingly seeking him out to play! “I just..I guess I’m a bit happy.”

“PFFT! Just a bit?” Gyutaro laughed, slapping his knees as he doubled over. “I guess we aren’t as grand as the big three, are we sister?”

“That’ll change. Come on- I know a fun game!” Daki reached out, taking Rui’s hand in hers as they began walking to wherever. Rui felt his hand trembling some in her own, his reflection in the red polish of her nails.

He looked…alarmed, but also…happy.

With a hesitant move, he squeezed her hand back.

“Okay- this is the deal. You come right here…yeah, good. Now- stay still and close your eyes.” Daki brought his hands up to his face, using his sleeves for extra coverage. “Count to ten, and then look.”

“Hide and seek?” Rui asked behind the thick fabric of his sleeves.

“Not exactly. We call it ‘Bat Vision.’ The goal is to figure out where we are before we tag you, okay?” She squeezed his shoulders once before backing away. “Ready…go!”

“Erm…1…2…3…” As he counted, the smell of Daki’s perfume faded. Gyutaro must have returned to her back-he couldn’t hear or smell him either. There were no footsteps, no sounds at all behind his cocoon of sleeve.

“4….5….6…”

Was he doing this right? Were they nearby?

“7….8…”

Did they…did they leave? He wouldn’t be surprised if they did.

“9….”

Still no smell, sound, or indication they were near. They left. Rui felt his lip quiver.

“....10.” He brought his arms down, fighting off tears in the still room.

“GOTCHA!”

“AH!” Rui squawked when hands grabbed his waist, digging into his ribs. “Aheahhahhahahaha! Whahahahhat?”

“Like my new trick? Even demons can’t detect me!” Daki laughed from behind, pulling him back until he was squirming in her lap. “Even with all those spidey senses of yours! I figured you’d set a web up so you’d sense me, but you played fair!”

“Whahahahhait, yoohohohohu diihihiihihihdn’t leheahhahahhahve? Ahehahahhahahaha I tohohohohought yoohohoohohu juuhuhuuhuust ghahahahhahve uhuuuhuhp!”

“Pfft- like I’d do that! Where’d I go?” Daki rolled her eyes, something soft entering her voice as she carried on scratching her nails along his belly. “You really thought I’d leave you?”

“Ahehahahahahaha! Ahehahahahhahha, I dhooohohohn’t knohohohohohw!”

“Well- that makes me mad! Gyutaro- get out here! We got a spider to squish!” Daki called out, her brother running out from around the nearby corner.

“Oi, so little spider boy thinks we’d be asshats and leave him, eh? Tch, tch tch. Shameful.” Once there, he gestured for Daki to roll him over. “Come here- you little runt!”

“AH! Ahehahahahaha, nohoohohoohohooho I’m sahahahahhahharry!” Rui squealed as his feet were grabbed, Gyutaro wiggling along his kicking soles as Daki carried on pinching his ribs. “Aheahhahhahahah sthahahahahhhap, pleahahhhahahse!”

“Heh- alright, alright. Daki, reel it in.” Gyutaro scribbled a hand against Daki’s chin, making her jerk back with a short squeal. Rui slumped, arms around his belly as his skin tingled. “But seriously- you didn’t think we’d leave you behind, did you?”

“I…I did.” No point lying- they must have heard his voice crack while counting. “I’m used to people doing so, I guess.”

“Huh.” The siblings shared a look over him in silent conversation. Then Daki’s arms pulled him up so she could hug him properly, resting her chin against the top of his head.

“That makes you like us officially then. We’ve had people leave us behind too.” She squeezed him gently. “That’s why you’ve got us now.”

“Yeah. No matter what happens, we’re a trio going forward.” Gyutaro reached out, wiping a stray tear that fell down the spider’s cheek. “Unless a fourth guy shows up- then we’re a square.”

“Why the hell does it have to be a square? I say we’re a diamond! And also- what if she’s a girl?”

“You know what I mean! And besides- squares are better. They hold more things.”

“Diamonds are prettier.”

“Eh.”

“Oh you wouldn’t know good jewels if they were stuck up your-”

Rui giggled in his hands as the siblings argued, snuggled back into Daki’s arms with a happy sigh.

Just like that- his pretend family became a little more real.

How do you think the moons spice tolerance would be like

I have long been influenced by a Japanese fan comic about the Upper Moons' respective intolerance to human food, introduced as a sort of hazing party for Kaigaku who is a bit shocked by it. I don’t remember all the details but Gyutaro and Ume make a talented team making it appear that she consumes human food while he safely gets rid of it, and Kokushibo has the weakest tolerance of all of them and can't even stand it for one second. That's been my headcanon ever since.

So when it comes to spicy food, I'm still influenced by that. Let's assume this is a human!AU.

Kamanue: likes more spice than most people do, but not a show-off about it

Rui: can't handle spice, doesn't like mint either

Mukago: handles a decent amount but often chooses milder food

Wakuraba: shows off sometimes but regrets it later

Rokuro: insists he'd rather taste his food

Enmu: he will force himself to eat painful things so he can bully others into suffering with him

Kaigaku: slightly low tolerance, and chooses not to suffer

Gyutaro: really loves extremely spicy food, it's like a hobby

Daki: has adopted the same hobby, but she hates to show when something is too much for her

Gyokko: he makes art out of it instead of eating it (how crafty)

Hantengu: hates it so much, and whines about it

Akaza: likes a show-offy level of spice

Douma: casually handles way more spice than Akaza (about the same tolerance level as Daki, but not as strong as Gyutaro)

Kokushibo: he cannot

Zohakuten Headcanons (Modern)

Zohakuten is 17-18 (Originally) Depending on the story he'll be different ages like (10,12,15)

Zohakuten is the most spoiled in his family since he is the youngest (He'll get so many gifts for Christmas and his birthday)

During middle school Zoha found it very easy to make friends with the girls instead (He had little to no guy friends)

When he got into High School, he met his current group of friends.

During middle school so many girls liked him to the point on Valentines Day his desk would be covered with cards, sweets, and baskets which did make the other guys jealous (He has rizz but doesn't know how to handle it)

He's one of the popular boys because he's handsome and that a lot of the girls know he is the little brother of the handsome Hantengu Quadruplets (He doesn't even know he's popular or the reason why)

He's a total mama's boy

Loves Mario.

He was so excited when the Mario Movie came out that he forced all his brothers into one of his cars and paid for everything with Karaku's credit card

He isn't allowed to use his own money so he usually has one of his brothers or all of their credit cards

Has too many Mario video games

Zoha likes to put stickers on everything including his brothers. (Karaku wasn't so happy to be covered in stickers)

Has some allergies (crab, Crab Rangoon, some seafoods, daisy's, and pollen)

When he was little he was in the hospital a lot either because he had a really bad allergic reaction or he got beaten up. Luckily his mom was there (Their mother happens to be a nurse so she always kept him company along with his brothers and father)

Zoha first fight was in Elementary school at recess because two older boys had the great idea to bully him because he was small.

Zoha did in fact win but he was beaten up pretty badly and his brother made sure those really learnt a lesson the next time they saw him

Zoha ended up in the hospital because he had a broken arm and a bruised face

Mama wasn’t so happy about it and sued the parents and had the two boys in juvie

He is 5 years younger than the quads/clones and 7 years younger than Hantengu and Urami

Grew up with his cousins 24/7

At the age 15 he got his first girlfriend (who is now his current girlfriend)

Still cool with the ladies to the point it brings Karaku to tears that his lil bro has so many girl contacts in his phone

He stays out really late and only comes home to let his brothers know that he is alive before leaving again (Only one the weekends and summer break)

Rest of the time he is home since he doesn't really go out unless it's for food or friends

His group of friends consist of too many girls, Daki, Nakime, Akaza, Kokushibo (Zoha's "sugar daddy". He just gives money to Zoha and he jokes about him being a Sugar Daddy to him), Douma, Kaigaku, Gyutaro (Zoha is like an older brother to him), Rui (Zoha is that one senior/Junior that adopted a freshman), Gyokko

Daki one time forced him to be a cheerleader for an entire year. He wasn't too happy

The only time Zoha will get into a fight is when someone is being highly disrespectful to one of his female friends which does get him suspended

Decides when he wants to go to school

His brothers can't really do a thing about it though it pisses Urami off when he goes to make sure he is awake but finds the quads and Zoha sleeping (The quads tried and failed)

Sometimes he leaves at 1 in the morning because Douma wanted food

He's truly only nice to his family and friends

The only one person who can truly disrespect him or piss him off without getting hurt is his cousin

His hair is curly and long. It goes down to his thighs but if straightened it'll go to his calves

He does cut it to a reasonable length like the length the Quads hair is at or his canon hair cut

Hantengu snd Urami have the same length hair as Zoha so Hantengu usually styles it for him

Daki likes to style his hair but certain styles makes him highly upset with her

Throws money at the problem or his fists

Looks mean but is truly nice

Likes to go to the gym with his brothers or Akaza

They get milkshakes afterwards

Not a big fan on pick me and snobby girls

If he is sick Sekido is the one who tends to stay home with him and gives him medicine and his blanket

Rarely goes to sleepovers because of Sekido packing his bag or that he wants to go home

In elementary school he was 4'10, middle school 5'2, currently he is 5'11, in the near future he'll be the same height as the quads

Many people find it hard to believe that he was born with purple hair. Most of the time it looks black in certain spaces/seasons, but if like you look closely with a flashlight or if he's out in the sun it's a dark purple (A unique feature he shares with the Quads)

Rich boy but keeps in his lane

The car he drove when he was 15 gave it away that he came from a rich family

Most of the time he is on the phone with his brothers, cousin, or Daki (In school)

He gets kicked out of class because of it

A sucker for sweets mainly chocolate

He's either brought lunch from Aizetsu or Urogi or brings his own lucnh

He is coddled a lot by the Quads mainly Sekido (doesn't matter if he big grown he still the baby)

Nonchalant attitude

Rui is sometimes nervous to go with him to different events or in general late at night

Zoha usually takes Rui to small parties or out to eat

Zoha once bought Rui several pet spiders because he got tired of hearing Rui complain about not having one

Tiktok Famous

He is known for having long hair/story times while he does his hair/doing one of his girl friends make up while doing a story time (During the time he was a cheerleader he learnt how to do makeup)

He didn’t go to school until he was 5

He was homeschooled because of his allergies

When he did go to school he was taken out around spring time because of his allergies and how he reacted to them.

When his brothers would do their homework he would sit in one of their laps and watch them or color a picture while they do their homework

The brothers spent half a month trying to convince their parents to let Zoha go to school with them

That's really all I have for now....I like the Senior adopting a freshman thing for Zoha and Rui along with the Hantengu's being rich

What If: Gyutaro Edition

How did his life come to this again?  He wasn't exactly sure himself...

He certainly wasn't expecting to be sitting here cradling such a small life in his arms. A small perfectly wrapped up combination of blue blankets. A small head nestled outside of them. The small defenseless thing completely asleep to the cruelties of the cold world. Little breaths taken as he knew nothing but slumber despite the messy curls of green locks threatening to accidentally get sucked into the open mouth. A small innocence in the chaos of the man holding him-

"Ni,Ni! Gyutaro, you're not balancing his head up right." A blue nailed hand reached over to push his elbow up higher cradling the infant's head. "Here. You're supposed to hold a baby's head leveled with or higher than their feet. Try this." He let go and rainbow eyes smiled happily at the slightly scared man in front of him. "There you go! I knew you could do it!"

"How do you even know so much about holding babies?" Sickly yellow eyes blinked at the more colorful ones.

"I hold them all the time to bless the newborns and welcome them to the compound."

He didn't question that but the yellow eyes turned to the other infant Douma held in his arms. A mirror image of the son he held only his daughter had a black splotach pattern across her cheek. His scared him at first that one of his offspring had been born with such a marking but found comfort in that her only marking looked so much like a flower unlike the ones that lined out his own body. They were beautiful. Just as he had hoped they would be. Relief flooded him, but with newborns it always was very stressful to handle. Twins were even more of a stress. He was grateful for the constant helping hand of the more experienced Upper Moon. 

"Scary Dad!". 

Both men's heads turned to a familiar sight. Ah. The white haired boy. Rui walked in ignoring the obvious presence of Douma in favor of walking right up to the skinnier upper moon. His pale hand holding the hand of his one year old brother and technically Gyutaro's firstborn son. The toddler toddled along being led by the eleven year and stopped when Rui did as his older adopted brother looked at Gyutaro.

"Douma and I want to go outside and play. May we?," the spider child asked him. 

Douma's smile got incredibly wider from right across from Gyutaro and Rui frowned. Yeah...In hindsight maybe it wasn't a good idea to name his firstborn after someone his eldest disliked but at the time he thought it was a good idea. Naming him after someone who practically raised him and Daki and got them so far in life...Douma was never going to let him live it down however. Always bragging about being 'Grandpa Douma.' The toddler next to him only blinked up with big blue eyes and unruly black hair covering his face.

"No...I'm exhausted trying to watch all of you." Rui pouted and Douma looked at his older brother... before mimicking his pout. He could call it cute if he wasn't so busy trying to watch four kids under the age of twelve. "You heard me. Is Daki back yet?" 

His sister had INSISTED on giving Y/n a girls' night out saying that 'she needed a break from mother duties for a bit' and 'he could use a day bonding with his kids.' No way he was ready to handle watching four kids with three being a toddler and two infants yet. Thank the gods Douma was always willing to help him with anything he needed.

In his own words saying, "If you ever need or want any help, just know that you can come to me. I've dealt with many children in my compound and there's many other parents and midwives that would be more than welcome to help teach you."

He definitely has taken up his old mentor's offers of help more than once even if Y/n didn't Always like him spontaneously dropping by Upper Moon Two's domain for surprise visits. But she relented seeing how much he was still struggling with the life of being a new dad.

"Then can I hold Ume or Yushiro?" He held up his hands towards him and the infant he held with newfound awe. "I barely get to hold them anymore."

He sighed. "Fine but sit down and do it. And be careful!"

"I'm always careful!"

Despite him raising a brow he rolled his eyes and relented, gently sliding Yushiro out of his hold and into the awestruck arms of Rui who perfectly cradled him from hours of practice by his mother and plopped himself down right there in front of them. A big smile on his pale features. Hm..Well he'd admit the kid was a pretty good big brother. Douma followed Rui's motions like before and also mimicked him plopping down only to tumble over on accident and then giggle at his mishap like any happy one year old would. Despite himself the actions of the children made him huff and smile the slightest bit-

"Uh oh. Did someone wake up from her nap?," Douma's voice cooed and it made him look over. In his distraction his daughter had woken up and up on seeing that it wasn't her father, mother, or older brother holding her had started to kick up a fuss in Douma's arms. Whining and moving her limbs under the blankets. "Aw. Someone's cranky. Looks like someone wants Daddy."

"Wait. What?"

He didn't even get a chance to say anything else before the smiling blonde was already hoisting the fussing girl out of his arms and plopping her right into a slightly panicked Gyutaro's whom practically froze when the squirming infant was suddenly in his hold. Ume continued to move around making whined of protests before looking back up and pausing meeting his usual terrifying face. She slowly paused seeing him and both just stared at one another for a long moment before the derpy chubby face gave a lopsided smile at him followed by a giggle. Something warm swelled up in his chest and she was held closer to himself.

"Do you need help there?"

".....No." He smiled. For once in a very long time in his long, hard life. A sense of domestic normalcy and pride only he could have. "I'm fine."

Yoriichi and I adopted those who wanted to be our children. I also requested that we adopt Rui, Gyutaro, and Daki. Rui has always been like a son to me, and I think a family setting may be helpful to the Shabanas.

Family (au)

Before I actually write this, I need to write down some important info! This family au will be a series of headcanons. It will be a polygamous relationship, so if you don't like that stuff you don't have to read. Basically, you are the wife of Muzan, Kokushibo, Douma, and Akaza. You are a cambion (half demon). In this, muzan has signed a peace treaty with the corps. The only reason they exist is to hunt down rogue demons. Also, with the help of the corps, the blue spider lily was found.

I know I'm changing a lot. But this is my au.

Muzan isn't evil. Douma has emotions.

You have eternal youth like most demons, increased healing speed (you can survive some fatal wounds, but you don't need to be beheaded to die), regenerate lost limbs slowly, have slightly better strength and senses, and a blood demon art.

Blood demon art: emotional link. By using your blood as tattoo ink and tatting the names of you and your loved ones onto your skin, you establish an emotional connection with them. The tattoos default to white and change color as the person who's name it is experiences emotions. Additionally, the name will glow softly if the person is close. This bond can be between multiple people. Finally, you have h/c hair with tips that change with your emotions. Reference mood bracelets for the corresponding emotions.

So, basically, the kamaboko squad (+ muichiro) are your children! You've also adopted Daki (age: 13) Gyutaro (Age: 16), and Rui.

Tanjiro: he’s Muzan’s biological child. He’s four years old. He is a full blooded demon. While many toddlers can be a handful, Tanjiro was a sweetie, helping out with his younger siblings and always following the rules.

Inosuke: Douma’s biological child. He is three years old and quite the handful. His stuffed boar is always with him. He’s constantly getting into trouble…

Zenitsu: the only human of his siblings. He was found by Akaza, and you wanted to take him in. He is currently three. He’s very clingy and cries easily.

Muichiro: Kokushibo's biological child. 8 months old. Pretty sleepy, but also mischievous.

Nezuko: Muzan's other biological child. She is 2 months old (demon pregnancies are faster than those of humans). She sleeps a lot and always has a pacifier in her mouth.

Part 1 — Gyutaro and Daki/Ume

Usual headcanon - their age equal to the age when they canonically became demons.

They adopted by Douma in... More younger age. (Ume was 9. Gyutaro was ±15.)

Ume asks(Demands) Douma to buy her expensive things. So she have last Iphone, Ipad, MacBook, own tv in good designed room.

Ume is Semi-professional fashion model. She was in Paris and Saint Petersburg

Likes to sing, but doesn't like to someone see her singing

Her grades at school range from "4" ("B") to "5"("A")

Hate that one man who didn't let her shop in his Wip store(RusReal Tengen is owner😜)

Always mean to almost everyone at school, except her two friends.

Her favorite school subject - Music, English and Spanish. And she is Study in the 7th grade. (7Б класс. Классный руководитель ведёт физику.)

Gyutaro graduated from high school. And he graduated in 9th grade(usual in Russia) Now he is studying at a technical school.

Gyutaro drives very well.

He studied and graduated from the same school in which Daki studies now.

His grades was.. Bad.. sometimes "2"("F") sometimes "4"("B")

Part 2 — Gyokko

Sculptor and Painter. Like modernism a lot.

His sculptures and paintings expensive.

But almost all his paintings - on pots so he doubled a price for them.

He thinks he surpassed Picasso

Thinks he is friends with Douma. But for Douma this friendship is a fake.

Doesn't like twins(Tokito twins) because one of them(Muichiro) said what all Gyokko's works Only garbage and the price for garbage should be zero. He also repeatedly called all Gyokko's sculptures a piece of clay.

Strange, but rich. He usually wear a mask what look like his Canon face. Have a big aquarium with fishes.

Like fish. like fish very much.

Dislikes a foggy weather.

Thinks every human is his fan.

Has an expensive apartment in Moscow-city.

Rarely play Gardenscapes

Part 3 — Hantengu and clones

All of them - different person.

Hantengu most like a grandpa for younger clones/Grandkids basically.

Has a quick mood changes.

Kith with Douma.

Clones mostly same. But.. But as everyone here - Humans.

In same class as RusReal Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Kanao and Genya

Urogi have an eagle pet. Well. If Urogi has a pet. Then everyone in this fuckin "family" has that pet.

They ages going like: Hantengu-Sekido-Karaku-Aizetsu-Urogi-Zohakuten

Zohakuten same age as Nezuko, Senjuro, Muichiro, and Rui (14 ok? I wanted, I made a RusReal with it)

Urogi and Karaku talks in class usually and loudly. Thats why they were separated from each other to opposite sides of the classroom.

only Aizetsu are excellent student. Of all of them.

Hantengu was born in Pushkino. And unknown about his kids, but known what he have grandkids. How and why? Don't ask him. He doesn't talk much to strangers

So because of how blood works i have an interesting theory in regards to blood demon arts:

Firstly human's blood cells are replaced in their entirety after roughly 100 days, so what if the same thing was applied to demons and thus their demon arts. That would then mean that in theory if someone like Rui who shares his blood, gave his blood and thus one of his demon arts to one of his "adopted" family, would then have it back after roughly 3 and a third months or even faster. Secondly because some blood types are interchangeable with others, what if that also applied to demon arts? Like for example Muzan could be a type O+ and can donate ("donate") to almost anyone and thus give a demon art to almost anyone and that could also explain why some humans cannot become demons, not necessarily because they are weak (though that can be the case for some but purposefully over-filling someones veins doesn't exactly help) but because they are not compatible blood types because if you were to give O+ typed blood to someone who had any of the negative blood types their bodies could very easily have a bad reaction to it that can kill them. Anyway say for example Kokushibo and Akaza were interchangeable blood types would that then mean that they could swap demon arts back and forth? And then if say Douma were a blood donor match for idk Enmu but Enmu wasn't back would that mean that Douma could give Enmu his powers but Enmu would have to give them to someone else who is interchangeable with either both or can take from Enmu and give to Douma before Douma gets his powers back?? And maybe their swapping blood and thus blood demon arts could even change their appearances. I don't think exchanging non-compatible blood types would kill demons rather i think it would be a painful experience with a high chance of their blood demon arts either not swapping back and forth in one way or another or the more powerful demons blood and therefore blood demon art taking over entirely. Now that I think of it maybe that's why Rui's "adoptive family member's" transformations were as painful as they looked because receiving the wrong blood type wouldn't kill them but instead due to Rui being stronger than them and thus having the stronger blood his blood took over entirely and that could also be why it seemed to be so hard for them to keep up the "matching set" appearances; because their bodies were trying to reject his blood, not because they consciously wanted to (even though that may have been the case for some) but because their blood types were not compatible. The reason why Gyutaro and Ume/Daki didn't change much appearance wise is because they weren't demons yet when Douma gave them his blood or why Yushiro barely changed appearance wise when Tamayo turned him is because he was still human, making it seem like receiving blood from a demon once (be it muzan, one of the moons or lady tamayo) turns you and possibly changes your appearance a bit (and because Muzan & Tamayo have pretty generic appearances (no offense) and their main abilities are shape-shifting and illusions respectively which are pretty similar, receiving their blood doesn't do much to change one's appearance in one go), more than once after that increases strength, potentially make bigger changes to one's appearance and can potentially swap/change blood demon arts. Let me know what you guys think. Also fun fact both blood typing and the fact that humans blood cells are replaced after 100 days were created/discovered around the time that demon slayer takes place.

that lovely anon put the modern au back on my mind and i actually got started on the next hc post about the kamaboko squad, yey! (when will i finish it? uhh next question)

for the time being, here's some random lore i cooked up during the great lung infection of december 23

tengen and gyutaro have a blood feud going on and there's plenty of theories on how it started. some say it was because gyutaro got a little too flirty with hinatsuru at the club right in front of tengen, some say tengen may or may not have called daki a bitch to gyutaro's face. insiders know that tengen actually called her a cunt.

the people are split on the topic; obanai finds himself 100% on tengen's side for once because the one time they actually met daki called kaburamaru a worm, tanjiro is conflicted because daki is kind of a bitch but tengen really should be above having beef with a 16 year old and also it's a rude thing to say, douma thinks gyutaro should challenge tengen to a duel, and their mutual friend akaza wishes tengen and gyutaro would just get over themselves and act like adults for once instead of driving him insane with their endless complaining about each other. everybody else refuses to take a stance but is thoroughly entertained by the whole thing

anyway the whole thing culminated in an epic fist fight that sent both of them to the er at 2am and they have not been in the same room since

(daki is 16 and gyutaro is 20, i took some liberties with the demons' ages)

the layout of the unnamed town in which this au exists is essentially a valley surrounded by the mountainiest mountains to ever mountain and lots of forests, the town is pretty much middle of the road in terms of size; it's certainly small enough for people to be nosy af

the majority of the cast lives in the same part of town except for urokodaki, sabito and makomo (urokodaki's dojo is on one of the mountains and a bit outside of town, sabito lives with roommates while going to university tho) and gyomei who used to live on the other side of town until he started attending university

obanai and kanao weren't born in the valley and are both from the same city. kanao was adopted by the kocho family when she was seven years old, around the same time obanai became a nationwide sensation after every other member of the cult he grew up in died

obanai finds out about this when he starts spending more time with kanae through sanemi and meets all of her sisters and he gets fiercely protective whenever people try to tie kanao back to the cult, he'll snap at anyone who dares to accuse her of having connections to them

koyuki and mitsuri know each other from elementary school and stayed friends all throughout their teens which makes mitsuri the first one who accepts akaza into their circle when he gets together with kyojuro because while he is indeed a little scary she has seen how much koyuki loves her adoptive brother and she can't be that bad of a judge of character

senjuro and rui are in the same class in elementary school and they immediately flock together, being both shy outsiders and somewhat lonely kids. despite being sickly rui is a rascal who helps senjuro get out of his comfort zone and loosen up every now and then, meanwhile senjuro always keeps an eye on rui and always comes over when rui is feeling too weak to go to school

added bonus of rui hating that he's an only child and kyojuro being more than happy to insert himself as an older brother figure

sanemi and tengen become friends when sanemi is in ninth and tengen is in eleventh grade; they both have to do detention with muzan (their awful history teacher) and immediately hate each other until sanemi gets into a discussion with muzan and tengen notices hey this feral bastard is pretty cool actually. tengen helps sanemi with the detention work later on because ofc muzan isn't accommodating to sanemi's dysgraphia in the slightest and sanemi has to admit to himself that maybe the loud diva isn't half bad.

they leave the detention in an awkward state of mutually appreciated coexistence and sanemi spends the whole weekend anxiously trying to figure out how to proceed but luckily tengen is intrusive af and has absolutely zero issues welcoming himself at sanemi's, mitsuri's and giyuu's lunch table the monday after and from then on getting closer feels rather natural

inosuke lives with his mother and hisa and owns a pet pig. the pig's name is miss inosuke-sama because he wanted to name it after himself but then his mother told him that it was a "girl pig" and he added the miss in front of it because it felt disrespectful not to do so. needless to say inosuke and miss inosuke-sama are best friends for life and when he brings her to his first day of kindergarten it does get him in trouble immediately but also his new friend tanjiro is sufficiently charmed and if that's not a win then honestly what is

HELP GYU AND TENGEN FIGHTING KJRKJERKJEJKR It's some Romeo and Juliet 1968 levels of ridiculous where everyone just kinda ran out and mosh pitted in the middle of town square- only instead it's Tengen and Gyutaro and their constantly throwing childish insults and mean girl quotes at one another ("Nice wig, Tengen what's it made of?" "Your mother's chest hair" "WHY YOU-"

Oh gosh the one time Obanai's on Tengen's side jkakjajrkejkr I feel like their mutual anguish for Daki brings them closer you know? I'm with Tanjiro though- while she may be..difficult, Tengen really shouldn't be beefing with a 16 year old at his grown age ajkrkjarjkearjk Douma suggesting a Duel (he'd be in his Hamilton era) and Akaza being over it is a MOOD!

THE FIST FIGHT I CANNOT- Makio gets a call from Tengen all: "Hey babe...so I won't be coming home tonight.." with a selfie of him getting stitches and Gyutaro on the opposite side of the room with his leg in a cast half out of it as the pain meds kicked in.

Oo, I love the idea of the town being a mountain area! It fits with the whole forests and wisteria set up in the show, plus everything being just big enough to hold everyone but juuuust small enough to keep them in everyone's business is such a charming thought!

Protective Obanai! I love a good rare pair! I feel like Kanao's the type of girl who could utterly destroy you verbally if she feels like it but it's so rare that most assume she's incredibly non-confrontational (which, for the most part is true? Maybe not incredibly but like- she's came to peace that no matter what she says to the people trying to tie her back to the cult they'll never listen so she lets them run their mouths) but also appreciates Obanai being such a protective soul to her? While her sisters are incredible, she couldn't help but feel a little envious of Genya having such a ferocious big brother in his life so Obanai kinda fills that void for her, you know?

Ahhh Mitsuri! She's such a queen- I love how accepting she is! She's the type to see past all the rumors and fronts people put up, so while others might see Akaza's scary outsides, she's been around him enough to witness his gooey insides too. Also Senjuro and Rui being classmates and besties makes my heart so happy- Rui is truly a little rascal and Senjuro being both a good friend and someone to support him AH!

Tengen and Sanemi lore!!! Muzan being a crappy teacher fits the bill to a tee- and Tengen first hating Sanemi's guts but slowly and begrudgingly growing to like him is so canon I can't ajrkeajrkjeakjraekjlr Him squeezing his big ol muscular self beside Sanemi like "What up party people?" is just- God I love it so much!

Inosuke's pet pig!!! Miss Inosuke-sama! He absolutely sneaks her to school even in his high school years; it's not uncommon to hear pig snorts and wiggles in his backpack- or hear a distant "MY LUNCH!" from Inosuke whenever she eats his sandwich. Tanjiro is so delighted even if he's equally panicked cause "how do you hide a pig at school???" It becomes such a common sight most grow accustomed to it that when Inosuke doesn't bring her everyone's anxiously wondering if something happened to her. Then they're immediately reassured when Inosuke tells them his mom found out and wouldn't let him bring her anymore.

Fun Fact's About My O.C's: Timeline shenanigans

So the A.T where Tsuki doesn't turn back into a human after going to a kizuki meeting with Rui is also the same timeline where Kuroko (who would still adopt Tsubaki, Rin, Asaki, Kimi and Kiki) joins the kizuki while acting as a "double agent" for Lady Usagi. So they would all still know each-other just in a different order. In this timeline Tsuki would still view Kuroko and her adoptive children as her aunt and cousins but Lady Usagi and Mine would also be an aunt and cousin while Kuroko would be the one who adopts Takara and Yukio and Tsuki would consider Nijiko, Kyogai, Shun (tongue demon) & Ryōta (horn demon) as the "older siblings that have already moved out". Tsuki would in a way consider all of the kizuki members as part of a big family (admittedly partially dragging Rui into this viewpoint as well wether he admits it or not) with most of the upper moons plus Rokuro and Enmu being uncles and in nakime's case an aunt and most of the lower moons plus Gyutaro, Daki and Kaigaku being cousins.

As Tsuki woke up to Masami and Oni bickering in the hallway and the soft moonlight drifting in through one of the only uncovered windows in the house she momentarily panicked thinking that she had accidentally fallen asleep at her adoptive families home and that her actual parents were going to be angry and take away her food for the next day when she got home, but as she woke up a little more she remembered that her actual parents were away at her aunts for the week for some alone time and had left last night, calming herself down. She quietly climbed out of and made her bed, changed out of her sleeping yukata and into her spiderweb patterned kimono and exited the room and entering the hallway to see what the commotion was about. After the fact that she had woken up was acknowledged with a "Good evening" from both Masami and Oni, Tsuki asked somewhat sleepily "What's going on?" "Well..." Oni sheepishly started before Masami cut her off "Oni messed up your makeup-", "Only because you startled me when I was trying to close it!" Oni argued back. Tsuki put her hands up pushing the air between them and yawned "It's okay, its pretty easy to fix. Did I leave it open last night?" Oni nodded quietly as she noticed Rui approaching the hallway and Masami who was probably about to make a smartass remark thought better of it and quickly clammed up. "I see you got these two to stop arguing, thank you Tsuki" Rui commented. Tsuki beamed up at him and giggled "Your welcome big brother". He returned the smile and walked with her in to the dining room for breakfast only turning back once to glare at his elder siblings and casually commenting "Mother remembered to find some of those fruits and berries you like Tsuki" once he looked back at her.

About an hour later while Tsuki was repairing the red face-makeup she had "borrowed" from her actual mother over a candle and trying to decide if her nails needed a second layer of teal nail polish, Rui sat down next to her and mentioned "I have another meeting to go to soon, and I would like you to join me" "To meet the rest of your friends? Okay" Tsuki enthusiastically agreed making Rui softly snort and nearly start giggling with how excited she looked. Once the makeup cooled Rui helped her put it on while she applied a second coat of teal nail polish to her nails as they usually did when she would be staying longer than an hour. Once her makeup was done and her nails were dry she quickly brushed her hair and upon his request she brushed Rui's hair as well. He liked it when she brushed his hair, it reminded him of something or someone he couldn't quite put his finger on. While she brushed his hair he briefly had a thought about something he had not yet considered "She still smells like a human, Kyogai won't snitch but what about the others...Enmu is the only one I can think of who would snitch on purpose..." before quickly coming up with a solution "I'll just do what upper two, whats his name..Douma? Yeah! I'll just do what he did with Gyutaro and Daki! I'll give her a bit of my blood so she temporarily becomes one of us! But how...." and then smirking slightly knowing exactly how to trick her into taking it, remembering there were some berries left over from breakfast.

As the pair left Tsuki noticed the slightly nervous expressions on the rest of her adopted families faces, but figured they were just nervous about demon slayers catching them off guard. The pair walked along the familiar deer-path down the mountain quietly chatting back and forth, occasionally giggling at some of the animals the found playing alongside the path. They soon reached Kyogai's house where he was waiting for them. "Good evening Rui, Tsuki" Kyogai greeted them before noticing that Tsuki matched her adopted brother more than she did the last time she walked them to town and looked at the pair curiously. Noticing his confused expression Tsuki giggled "Im coming with you guys" and beamed up at him as she scurried over to show him her makeup and excitedly told him "Ru-Ru did such a good job on my makeup". Kyogai sheepishly smiled down at her before looking at Rui like he had grown a second head, causing Rui to return the look with one of his own that said "Don't worry i have a plan". Tsuki scampered back to her brother while Kyogai followed behind. As she scampered around ahead of them on the path chasing fireflies and moths Kyogai looked at Rui and quietly asked "So what is the plan for making sure that no one tries anything?", in response Rui pulled out a small jar of berries that he had hidden inside his sleeve and explained "I splashed these with some of my blood when she wasn't looking, once we are about a mile out of Nakime-san's range I am going to convince her to eat these and she will temporarily be one of us, if she asks why I am going to tell her that it will help her get around the castle more safely" "Kind of like what Douma did with Gyutaro-kun and Daki-chan?" Kyogai asked "Exactly" Rui replied as Tsuki scampered back to him to excitedly show him the firefly she caught.

Shortly after exiting the town Tsuki decided to clamber up onto Kyogai's shoulders to see if she can spot any demon slayers in the fields nearby, and after looking for a good minute she looks down at her companions, informs them "We're all clear" and starts climbing back down being careful to not accidentally kick one of the drums before Kyogai gently picks her up by the collar of her kimono and places her in his arms, holding her almost like a baby. "I think we may need to hurry up a little" Kyogai says as he turns his head to look at Rui. The two stared at each other for half a minute as if trying to figure out if Kyogai should pick Rui up as well and if Rui would even let himself be picked up before Rui stepped closer and lifted his arms up and made a grabbing motion with his hands. Another half a minute passes while Kyogai tries to get Rui situated on his back without accidentally dropping Tsuki before Kyogai takes off at a sprinting pace with Tsuki nestled into the crook of his arm and Rui clinging to his shoulders and waist. It took Kyogai a full ten minutes and a short break to notice that Tsuki had decided to take a nap in his arms and Rui was struggling to not dose off. Another half an hour of sprinting, three intermittent breaks to make sure they were going the right way and both Rui and Kyogai taking a short nap during the last break passes before Rui decides he is awake enough to continue walking and that they are close enough to wake up Tsuki. Rui wakes Tsuki up and she climbs down while saying "thank you for the ride kyo-san!" with a smile and Rui also says "Thank you for the ride".

While scampering up a short hill to pick some wild flowers about five minutes later Tsuki spots the lights of the city that they were apparently heading to in the distance and points it out asking "is that the city?" With a confused look on her face. She knew demons were super fast but at that distance it looked like it would take them another two hours to get there even with demon speed, all night if they were walking at a normal pace. "Aren't we going to be late" she asked as Rui and Kyogai sat on the grass next to her to take a short break. "No, If anything we'll be early" Rui answered with a small smile. "Eh??? How????" Tsuki asked even more confused as she sat down next to them. "At the infinity castle there is a demon who has the ability to teleport anyone within a certain range to the infinity castle. The edge of that range is only a mile away, and as soon as we are within range she will teleport us the rest of the way." Kyogai explained and Rui nodded in agreement before pulling the small jar of berries out of his sleeve, presenting them to Tsuki and asked "Hungry? I brought these for you just incase". Tsuki took the jar excitedly and said "Thank you Ru-Ru" but before she put one in her mouth she noticed the coppery scent of blood coming off of them and asked "Big brother why do they smell like blood? You didn't hurt yourself did you?", Rui looked at her a little sheepishly before answering "I put it on there on purpose" "Why??" Tsuki asked with a genuinely curious face cocking her head to one side like a confused puppy. "Because..." Rui started taking a second to think of how to best explain himself before continuing "The infinity castle is built for demons, so there are a lot of platforms and rooms without many bridges or stairways to get from place to place unless we ask for them which we usually don't since we can make the jumps and stick the landings without hurting ourselves. So now these will make you a demon like us until right around we drop kyogai-san off at his house and it will make it easier for you to keep up with everyone else.". "Oooh okay" Tsuki answered before continuing to eat the berries.

Five minutes passed before Rui and Kyogai noticed that her scent had changed and smelled a bit more like the rest of her adopted family, and that her appearance matched Rui's even more now because she had grown her own sets of baby-fangs and baby-claws, her sclera's turned burgundy, her eyelashes turned teal and her pupils split to match Rui's. Upon finally noticing that her makeup had been mostly smeared off and had been replaced with marks that mirrored Rui's, Kyogai grabbed a couple of large leaves from a bush a few feet away and attempted to wipe the makeup off of his chest and arm while Rui helped wipe the rest of it off of her face. But much to their relief nothing else had changed and she hadn't experienced any pain during the temporary transformation. "Well, she took that pretty easily" Kyogai sighed with relief, "Thankfully" Rui replied as he finally released the breath he had been holding. "You had doubts?" Kyogai asked slightly exasperated, "Only a little bit, I was fairly certain she would be fine but you know there was always a chance that..." Rui replied before letting his sentence fall silent as he turned his gaze to Tsuki who was now distracted trying to figure out what her temporary abilities would be, getting lost in his own thoughts. He knew that he had just taken a huge risk that could have caused him to lose her forever, but something in him knew that despite being as young as she was, as small as she was and as weak as she was when she wasn't staying with him and their family; that she would be able to take becoming a demon for a short while pretty easily, he figured she would probably be able to take becoming a demon permanently pretty easily as well. Rui shook his head to clear the post-risk worry from his mind and snorted out a laugh when he spotted that Tsuki had some how accidentally gotten herself tangled in her own threads and was laying on the ground trying to squirm her way out of it while Kyogai was trying to help her un-tangle herself and got up to help them.

After untangling Tsuki from her attempted web, getting her obi-pouch out of a tree which had gotten there due to an accidental web-shot and helping her dust herself off the small group finally set off again laughing for a good ways there. As they walked Rui gave her a crash-course on using her temporary abilities. He figured out that not only did they match physically but their powers matched so she would have the same powers as him which is to say she had all of the powers that Rui and the rest of their family had (which Rui explained he was not very fond of using) and the ones that only she and Rui had. After attempting to use Masami's blood demon art "Poison Sputum" on the dirt infront of her she gagged slightly and wiped her mouth off on her arm and whined "so that's why big brother is always so grouchy that stuff tastes nasty" "see why I don't like using it" Rui responded as Kyogai softly chuckled behind them. They all stepped around the small pothole in the dirt that the acid-like poison created and continued onwards. Soon enough they all stepped into range and upon seeing her companions stop walking she stopped as well grabbing Rui's hand now a little nervous, and quickly thereafter heard the faint sound of a biwa string being plucked. After taking a second to blink closing her eyes to the night sky and open fields, Tsuki opened them to the inside of a very strange building.
