(*) Ballet in one act with choreography by Roland Petit, libretto by Jean Anouilh, scenery & costume design (including the ballet's cat masks) by Leonor Fini. It tells the story of a musician who falls in love with his beautiful cat Agathe, who has assumed semi-human form. Agathe tries to be faithful to her human lover but is lured away by the sound of tomcats and the call of freedom. She leaps off the rooftops and the musician falls to his death as he tries to grab hold of her. She falls after him and they are united in death. | src The Oxford Dictionary of Dance

the pathologic Kin is largely fictionalized with a created language that takes from multiple sources to be its own, a cosmogony & spirituality that does not correlate to the faiths (mostly Tengrist & Buddhist) practiced by the peoples it takes inspirations from, has customs, mores and roles invented for the purposes of the game, and even just a style of dress that does not resemble any of these peoples', but it is fascinating looking into specifically to me the sigils and see where they come from... watch this:
P2 Layers glyphs take from the mongolian script:
while the in-game words for Blood, Bones and Nerves are mongolian directly, it is interesting to note that their glyphs do not have a phonetic affiliation to the words (ex. the "Yas" layer of Bones having for glyph the equivalent of the letter F, the "Medrel" layer of Nerves having a glyph the equivalent of the letter È,...)
the leatherworks on the Kayura models', with their uses of angles and extending lines, remind me of the Phags Pa Script (used for Tibetan, Mongolian, Chineses, Uyghur language, and others)
some of the sigils also look either in part or fully inspired by Phags Pa script letters...
some look closer to the mongolian or vagindra (buryat) script
looking at the Herb Brides & their concept art, we can see bodypainting that looks like vertical buryat or mongolian script (oh hi (crossed out: Mark) Phags Pa script):
shaped and reshaped...

Experimenting with some layering techniques and art styles! I love to play with negative space (especially with hair), but I’m really digging this look!

Dancing flames
The scene I’d put it to if I could write for once (I can it’s just a roadblock)
Everyone had made way in the ballroom that the dance was held in the Hewn City’s moonstone palace as the two vipers twirls faster and faster, catching flashes of fire like striking flint. Nesta’s own eyes held her signature silver flames as the escaped with each exaggerated bloom of music from the band that was tucked away.
With each twirl she was lifting more and more into the air, staying there longer, feeling warm tickles across her cheeks bones like a lover’s finger trying to memorize features just from feeling alone. The way they wound down her neck as she was dipped quickly then righted once more.
With a coy smile she had her flames explore Eris’ own neck climbing tantalizingly slowly up to his jaw causing him to shiver ever so slightly. She watched as he smiled a smile that was so clearly fae, all fang and hunger with the hint of desire in his eyes.
They were showing off towards the end of the song, flashes of flame coming off one another, their own flames dancing as if on their own accord. They ended the dance with her shins to his chest as he held her aloft, orange flames wrapping around her fingers and wrists kissing sweet warmth into her palms.
