Super Phantom

Writing prompt #3

Danny reveals his ghost half to his parents and they took it well accepting him. As a result the doctors Fenton then backed out of the weapons deal they had with the GIW and are actively protecting Phantom from them.

The GIW don’t give up even after the anti ecto acts are being repealed and sabotaged the gas tank for Nasty Burger’s grill. This causes the explosion that would Kill Danny’s family and friends there for Jazz’s graduation celebration. Clockwork foresaw of a Dan event happening and froze time to take and de-age Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Vallarta. (Clockwork is a jerk and frankly blames Jack and Maddie for making the he portals that caused both Vlad and Danny’s halfa status and a lot more work for him. He is letting those two die.)

Clockwork then sends the Deaged to babies/toddler to different places in the Yong Justice cartoon DC universe. All the kids are liminal and have powers.

Jazz now a 3 year old is sent to Hippallita on Themescira. (Excuse my spelling) liminal powers make her strength on par with Amazons.

Sam, age 1 as well and sent to Giovanni Zattarra. Three year old Zatana gets a younger sister that also has the gift of magic. Especially nature/plant magic.

Tucker I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose Lucius Fox. (If you can think of someone better go ahead and make suggestions.)

Vallarie was Supposed to be sent to Ted Kord, but Lex Luthor was trying to tap into the watchtower’s zeta tubs but accidentally got clockwork’s portal instead. It cased he basket to be dropped instead of gently set down. Startled, two year old Vallarie instinctively activates her ghost tech armor. Now that is a curious unexpected asset Lex will find a way to utilize.

And finally deaged to one year old Danny is sent in a in a basket with a solar system print blanket with a envelope sitting on top. The portal opens and the basket is carefully set on the table with the note. Then clockwork places a folder thick with other papers of to the side. He retreats into the portal closing it behind him just as the apartment door is opening.

Clark Kent has just finished his third week of work at the Daily Planet, the evening patrol and even grocery shopping. Thoughts of the paper he needs to write and turn in the morning are on his mind as he enters his apartment in time to notice a Green glow wink out of existence from his kitchen door. He drops the now forgotten grocery bags when he hears the tiny heartbeat and rushes over to the basket on the table.

A sleeping baby. A baby! Wha- how had anyone. When his brain stops stalling he notices the letter. It reads:

Superman,

The boy’s name is Danny. You are the most likely to survive him learning to use his powers as they emerge. His parents died trying to protect him. It is not safe for him here.

I have already forged the legal documents naming you as his godfather and a cover story in the attached folder. Also three gold coins will be sent to you each month as child support. If anyone else looks at this letter the text will change to simply read that you are the godfather of this recently orphaned boy.

Clark stood in shock rereading the letter in shock a dozen times. Before Lois snapped him out of it.

“Hey Smallville, it may not be Gotham but even in Metropolis you shouldn’t just leave your door open.” She called as she entered from the hall. Then she noticed the spilled bags of groceries on the floor. And came in. “Are you ok? You may be a klutz but you always pick u- Oh My God, That’s a Baby!”

DC + DP

Danny had began working with the bat a year ago. They were allies at most, not partners, not friends, allies. Phantom handled Amity issues, but when Gotham needed help he was happy to tag along.he certainly wasn’t a sidekick. He wasn’t someone’s helper or servant, he was a hero, a king, and he refused to be treated like a child.

 He may look fourteen still, not a day older than the day he died. But he was almost twenty one now, an adult in all ways, the realms acknowledged him, Amity acknowledged him, the realms themselves acknowledged him, and yet humans denied him. He wasn’t a kid, he was hardly even human. 

But he kept his silence and merely drew away from the bat. He waited, he watched, the years passed, he remained. The heroes still called him the same idle names, they couldn’t understand just how powerful he was. His breaking point came slowly, like pressure building, and pressure built. It was not him who broke the dam.

It was Ellie, she’d come in looking eldritch than human, she radiated power, ignoring the heroes and running to him. “Danny!” She laughed, hugging him tightly, “Dan want to fight you,” she sighs. "He says if he has to deal with any more paperwork he's going to just gonna kill a bunch of people.”

“Really?” He groaned, it was inevitable, but he was always sore after their spars. 

“Danny! Just fight him, it's fun, plus you need to get your anger out too!?” She looks at him pointedly. Danny groans. Ellie’s right he knows, but Dan and him tend to make a mess of things when they spar. 

“But last time clocky had to fix our mess Ellie, besides batty would freak,” Danny argues, avoiding Ellies gaze.

“Then he’ll kill someone to make you fight him Danny! I mean he’ll probably revive them but death is traumatizing so fucking man up and spar with you sibiling! Ellie crosses her arms. “Besides I’m0 long overdue for a stretch, the dimension i’m in is weak!”

“Fine! Does it have to be here tho?” Danny frowns, the JL will freak out over Dan.

“Uh huh, besides he’s already here!” Ellie grins at him and Danny spins around. 

“Danny,” Dan greets him with a customary smirk, “Ready to spar?”

“In a bit,” Danny bites out then steps out the watchtower window. “ground rules first, no hurting the humans,” Danny smiles.

“If you don’t skive of mid fight because of paperwork again I’m good with that,” Dan grumbles.

Danny raises an eyebrow, "Paperwoek that holds the realms together, while there spars only cause damage," Danny crosses his arms. "Shall we though?" Danny gestures and a portal forms.

"Danny come on just do it here! Set a dome dammit!" Dan rolls his eyes, "Portals feel icky."

"Fine," Danny groans and the portal vanishes. "Shall we?"

Dan just laughs, shooting an ecto blast at him. Danny smiles, the fight is violent but contained, bloody and brilliant and everything Danny has missed. brawling is likea hug to a ghost, a greeting, and he feels so much better.

Danny wins as always, smiling slightly, his eyes lighter. He grins, he loves to brawl. "Get up loser," he hauls Dan to his feet.

"Boo!" Dan jeers moving his bloody arm slightly. "You stained my suit!"

"Extoplasm doesn't stain!" Danny argues.

"Buzzkil! Ellie chimes in, "Me next?"

"How about after we talk to Phantom dear," One of Danny's teammates offers. Shit he forgot they were here. Yikes he is sooo screwed.

“Wonder Woman” (2017)

Diana Prince: “The gods made the Amazons to restore peace to the world, and it’s what I’m going to do.”

Possibly one of the most anticipated super hero movies in recent history has arrived in the form of the Patty Jenkins directed, Gal Gadot starring “Wonder Woman” (2017), about an Amazonian warrior who after years of training as well as shunning the world of ‘man’ is drawn into World War I by her sometime beau Steve Trevor. If you have been following Wonder Woman’s journey to the big screen you will know that she first appeared in the terrible Zack Snyder directed “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) where she stole the show with her kick ass attitude as well as the fact she didn’t defer or wait for the boys – she got on with showing off almost all of her tools, the shield, the sword, the lasso, those bracelet’s and of course her battle hardiness. Now as every good super hero as well as possible new franchise needs is an origin story, not just any story but a great one – something Warner Bros./DC has finally learnt from Marvel. As with any good origin story this one is built around a solid character, with some moral unrest as well as a few friends to help out where needed. What also helps is a director that can handle a huge budget as well as the expectations from the studio and audience alike. What we get is a very mixed bag with a film that starts strong then plot contrivances combined a with a very weak as well as confusing third act lets this film down but is still a great ride.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

For me the first question that had to be answered was all to do with the director, that is, the hiring of a relative newcomer to direct what is potentially the blockbuster of the year as well the re-launching after a much publicized failure (thanks Zack Snyder) in 2016. I am happy to say that Patty Jenkins has done an outstanding job given all the inherent limitations as well as having a huge studio hovering in the background. It has been pretty obvious in the press as well as the marketing that Jenkins and star Gal Gadot have been on the same page right from the jump. Seeing a hero that is based in Greek mythology brought to life in three dimensions as well as it being done so competently is a real gift for audiences, one I hope they embrace with open arms. This film was always going to be directed by a woman, Warner Bros. had to beat Marvel at something and if they are unable to do so with the product or success, they at least could be first at something – having the first female led superhero movie as well as having a woman direct what is probably one of the largest budgeted superhero movie’s is a start. I think it is unfortunate that we do live in an age where this is seen as a step forward but women have been systemically cut out of this process.

The next step to get right was the casting and when Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman for her debut many people had no clue who she was. However with a super strong marketing campaign as well as a few “Fast and Furious” films under her belt the public quickly became aware who was playing the Amazonian Princess – in fact this is a role if handled correctly could be the answer for Warner Bros. to have a face for the DC Universe that is 100% unique as well as being one of the three pillars of the DC Universe – giving those tired old warhorses Batman and Superman a well deserved break – is it me or are those two so last century. Gadot has embraced this character so well that she shines onscreen and even though the story may seem a little rehearsed, overblown and at times just like any other superhero origin, particularly a DC one – how can they still not get their endings right? Have you seen “Guardian’s of the Galaxy: Volume 2” (2017)? She seems above it all and able to handle anything.

The other two standouts for me are Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) and Lucy Davis (Etta Candy) – I was not sure how I would feel about seeing these two characters brought to life but like all great actors Pine and Davis are fully invested. I was invigorated to see Chris Pine take this role, as was it a sidekick role that has the job of showing Diana the ropes, so to speak. But Pine with his own franchise and after his own turn in last years excellent “Hell or High Water” (2016) it is obvious that this role required something special and real, so Pine is your man. After years of playing characters such as Dawn in the original “The Office” (2001 – 2003), Dianne in “Shaun of the Dead” (2004) and Emily in “Maron” (2015 – 2016) it is deserving she play Wonder Woman’s number 2 in the amazing Etta Candy – straight from the comics, she plays her wonderfully and threatens to steal the movie.

It was with some relief when I found the story shifting from Paradise Island to the ‘modern’ world that this was going to be set during World War I. The relief came from the fact that we were not going to be subjected to World War II and all the tropes that go along with it. In my mind it always seems to be a lazy way to move the plot as well as establishing a narrative as almost any fantasy or comic book film will use the Nazis as the ‘bad guys’ thereby negating the need to build three dimensional antagonists. With “Wonder Woman” however there was a need to establish a villain, the standout being Elena Anaya as Dr. Poison who I found to be extremely compelling and original, for a comic book villain that is. Unfortuabltey the same cannot be said of Danny Hustons whose idea of seeming evil is ywllng, a lot, as well as having no clue about what his motivations are, expet he is bad and just has to kill everyone else – really? That’s a villain in 2017, all he was missing was a moustache to twirl. However and no spoilers give it was about to get worse.

Once again we see with these high priced and still overblown superhero movies a massive reliance on CGI, which of course is the case with “Wonder Woman”, the difference with the better films is that this use of special effects is combined with great characters as well as interesting action moments that serve as one scene or moment. It could be with Jenkins background in independent movies, she directed Charlize Theron to a best actress Oscar for her only previous movie the serial killer biography “Monster” (2003), that she is able to take character first building around that to give a complete moment. Of course there are still third act issues with the big showdown that we have come to expect, but it is saved by the Gadot doing what she does best in with the character that is to stand up and not look back.

Unfortunately it has to be said the entire movie is ultimately let down by the ending as well as a final battle which I thought had ended with something akin to previous Marvel film. I also thought it was going to be a smarter ending which was hinted at in regard to the war, our place as humans in conflict and the fact that there is no easy answer. Boy was I ever wrong, it the film took a left turn, and suddenly I felt I was back at the end of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” – what a nightmare, please get me out. It was such a shame to see a film let me down this much.

I will not go into any real plot details as this movie is better left as a surprise even though the trailers have given away a few of the key points which is par for the course these days but this is a movie definitely worth seeing on the big screen and for my mind without a second watch is still in the top 15 comic book films produced to date. It is a true relasation of a property (again with a painful third act) that has gone through some turmoil over the past ten years with issues from medium, to directors, to writers to who would play the main part. But “Wonder Woman” is a fantastic watch for all ages and both genders, you should go and see. We should be thankful to have a Wonder Woman finally come to life.

I changed my mind because A I wanted Jazz to be the first one from his old life to remeet, and B I thought the magicians would be a better fit.

Also I am coming around to the idea that Sam ended up with Poison Ivy, Simply because it adds conflict and drama to the story, and then you have almost half the Phantom squad ending up on the antagonist side and the other half with the hero side.

You are missing angst potential. After Danny has a small identity crisis from phasing through the walls and bonding with his two new clones who for some reason feel familiar, then encounters Conner and just accepts him no problem, Danny assumes his dad will do the same thing.

But when Superman comes he is cold and says that they will find some way to deal with the clones. Danny asks why they can’t just stay with them and Superman lectures Danny on how they are dangerous and he doesn’t want them in his home and especially not near Lois (who he might use a code name for) and lists all the ways they are a liability and they don’t even know if the clones are stable. They will figure out what to do with them later. So he tells Superboy “let’s go” and then flies off…only to realize Danny wasn’t following him. He turns around and says it again. “Superboy…let’s go.” But Danny stays there and everyone is staring at them now as Danny looks between the clones and his dad in the sky. Then he floats over until he’s right beside Conner and the other clones.

“Superboy. Come here. Now.”

But Danny stays where he is. In frustration Clark’s says that fine, be that way, and then flies off in frustration. (Probably thinking Danny would come back home eventually). Robin pats Danny’s shoulder in a show on camaraderie. Danny could temporarily stay at the justice league base or maybe he had his own hang out spot with his friends. Like a secret fort/clubhouse.

And this starts a temporary conflict between Superboy and Superman. They eventually patch it up because Clark doesn’t want to drive away his son and Lois would be furious but still. ✨angst✨.

Also, everyone (especially Robin and Wally) want to know what in the world Danny’s disappearing trick was and that’s when they realize Danny wasn’t kryponian. Sure, technically they already knew that but his powers were so similar to kryptonians they never thought he might have other abilities. Robin theorizes that he just mimicked Superman’s abilities because he always spent time with him and thus begins experimentation on what else Danny can do.

Danny reveals his ghost half to his parents and they took it well accepting him. As a result the doctors Fenton then backed out of the weapons deal they had with the GIW and are actively protecting Phantom from them.

The GIW don’t give up even after the anti ecto acts are being repealed and sabotaged the gas tank for Nasty Burger’s grill. This causes the explosion that would Kill Danny’s family and friends there for Jazz’s graduation celebration. Clockwork foresaw of a Dan event happening and froze time to take and de-age Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Vallarta. (Clockwork is a jerk and frankly blames Jack and Maddie for making the he portals that caused both Vlad and Danny’s halfa status and a lot more work for him. He is letting those two die.)

Clockwork then sends the Deaged to babies/toddler to different places in the Yong Justice cartoon DC universe. All the kids are liminal and have powers.

Jazz now a 3 year old is sent to Hippallita on Themescira. (Excuse my spelling) liminal powers make her strength on par with Amazons.

Sam, age 1 as well and sent to Giovanni Zattarra. Three year old Zatana gets a younger sister that also has the gift of magic. Especially nature/plant magic.

Tucker I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose Lucius Fox. (If you can think of someone better go ahead and make suggestions.)

Vallarie was Supposed to be sent to Ted Kord, but Lex Luthor was trying to tap into the watchtower’s zeta tubs but accidentally got clockwork’s portal instead. It cased he basket to be dropped instead of gently set down. Startled, two year old Vallarie instinctively activates her ghost tech armor. Now that is a curious unexpected asset Lex will find a way to utilize.

And finally deaged to one year old Danny is sent in a in a basket with a solar system print blanket with a envelope sitting on top. The portal opens and the basket is carefully set on the table with the note. Then clockwork places a folder thick with other papers of to the side. He retreats into the portal closing it behind him just as the apartment door is opening.

Curses my plan was too obvious!

But more seriously I was planning something along those line just not quite that far. Essentially it was going to be that Superman went cold towards Connor specifically after he learns that the bruise on Danny’s cheek was from him. And that Connor hit him following psychic orders. That makes Superman see Connor as a possible threat to his son. Dad protection instincts flaring up.

As for Danny’s clones, who Danny has already named Ellenor and Jordan, well that is a whole other set of mixed feelings. See his own dna being used to make a clone without his consent is one thing, but to use his son’s dna is a whole new level of wrong in his eyes. Even using the comparison of clones to unplanned for children makes it worse because that makes Danny a parent at 14. Yes he is willing to adopt and raise Ellie and Jordan but there is a subconscious thought that these are his grandchildren. And he isn’t even 40 yet.

So Connor he says he wants to have Martian Manhunter make sure there isn’t any left over preprogramming and doesn’t want him in the house until that has happened. The Twins he just has a conflicted sad look that Danny misinterpreted to think he doesn’t want them either.

Batman offers the decommissioned Mount Justice to be a base for the new team and a place for Connor to stay.

No it doesn’t really affect the Nightwing persona. That happens when Dick is about 16 or 17. Also I don’t plan on having this tiff between Danny and Superman last more then a year. At which point he will change his hero name to Supernova.

What this does change is Dick getting to see a good older brother interactions modeled before Jason comes on the scene. And most importantly seeing a hero name be passed from one person to another. Maybe Danny giving Dick a talking to about Jason getting the Robin title.

Ok so fist Change, Lex was just researching teleportation and portals in general when he accidentally got Valarie. Second we will go with a modified backstory for Lex inspired by the Smallville tv series. Oh I think it would be hysterical if Val and Danny became best friends but later on they become their parents sidekicks but don’t know it is actually their friend they are fighting. But for this we have plenty of worse bad guys to use so we can have Val be what nudges Lex onto the light gray path.

The Time frame I am putting this at is Danny is right between Wally West and Dick Grayson in age. So everyone was sent to the DC universe before the justice league has officially form. This is actually before Superman has even met Batman. (I have something planned for that)

I cam going to go with the suggestions for Tucker being Cyborg’s younger brother, but that means a edit to the cartoon series time line to age Victor up. Also Tucker being adopted by Silas Stone is actually going to cause some angst. Cause the thing is while Victor was a straight A student he wasn’t into the scientific stuff his father was until well after the accident. And that actually started the rift before the accident. Tucker would be a technology and science prodigy, which is going to cause some jealousy of the “golden child” issues. Of course Victor loves his little brother and will have his back, but that doesn’t mean he can completely ignore the hurt when Silas passes over him to do tech stuff with Tucker.

Might I suggest…Tucker raised by Cyborg instead (either as son or bother)? And if Tucker ends up being liminal with the slight inclination towards being a Technopath….I call shenanigans.

We will eventually get there. But not until after a lot of adventures and team bonding.

Ok to address them having their memories still, I am going to say “it’s complicated”. See the theory I am applying is that the soul has a perfect backup copy of all a person’s memories, but the brain only has so much storage and processing space. So unimportant things are forgotten. The brain can get the memories from the soul but it takes a reminder of something familiar to even know where in the illogical organization system the soul has. And that is if they were adults with amnesia. As babies the storage space is extremely limited and basically anything not important for survival or a core personality setting thing was removed to make room for operating.

All that to say is that they will have a vague ghost of a memory. A feeling it this is familiar. But until they are older and have a stimulus to jog that memory, it will just be vague da ja vue. Eventually I plan on having things happen after they have all met and become friends again when one thing after another happens that triggers memories from their old lives and that eventually unlocks their full memories. But that is WAY down the road.

Super Phantom

Writing prompt #3

Danny reveals his ghost half to his parents and they took it well accepting him. As a result the doctors Fenton then backed out of the weapons deal they had with the GIW and are actively protecting Phantom from them.

The GIW don’t give up even after the anti ecto acts are being repealed and sabotaged the gas tank for Nasty Burger’s grill. This causes the explosion that would Kill Danny’s family and friends there for Jazz’s graduation celebration. Clockwork foresaw of a Dan event happening and froze time to take and de-age Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Vallarta. (Clockwork is a jerk and frankly blames Jack and Maddie for making the he portals that caused both Vlad and Danny’s halfa status and a lot more work for him. He is letting those two die.)

Clockwork then sends the Deaged to babies/toddler to different places in the Yong Justice cartoon DC universe. All the kids are liminal and have powers.

Jazz now a 3 year old is sent to Hippallita on Themescira. (Excuse my spelling) liminal powers make her strength on par with Amazons.

Sam, age 1 as well and sent to Giovanni Zattarra. Three year old Zatana gets a younger sister that also has the gift of magic. Especially nature/plant magic.

Tucker I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose Lucius Fox. (If you can think of someone better go ahead and make suggestions.)

Vallarie was Supposed to be sent to Ted Kord, but Lex Luthor was trying to tap into the watchtower’s zeta tubs but accidentally got clockwork’s portal instead. It cased he basket to be dropped instead of gently set down. Startled, two year old Vallarie instinctively activates her ghost tech armor. Now that is a curious unexpected asset Lex will find a way to utilize.

And finally deaged to one year old Danny is sent in a in a basket with a solar system print blanket with a envelope sitting on top. The portal opens and the basket is carefully set on the table with the note. Then clockwork places a folder thick with other papers of to the side. He retreats into the portal closing it behind him just as the apartment door is opening.

Clark Kent has just finished his third week of work at the Daily Planet, the evening patrol and even grocery shopping. Thoughts of the paper he needs to write and turn in the morning are on his mind as he enters his apartment in time to notice a Green glow wink out of existence from his kitchen door. He drops the now forgotten grocery bags when he hears the tiny heartbeat and rushes over to the basket on the table.

A sleeping baby. A baby! Wha- how had anyone. When his brain stops stalling he notices the letter. It reads:

Superman,

The boy’s name is Danny. You are the most likely to survive him learning to use his powers as they emerge. His parents died trying to protect him. It is not safe for him here.

I have already forged the legal documents naming you as his godfather and a cover story in the attached folder. Also three gold coins will be sent to you each month as child support. If anyone else looks at this letter the text will change to simply read that you are the godfather of this recently orphaned boy.

Clark stood in shock rereading the letter in shock a dozen times. Before Lois snapped him out of it.

“Hey Smallville, it may not be Gotham but even in Metropolis you shouldn’t just leave your door open.” She called as she entered from the hall. Then she noticed the spilled bags of groceries on the floor. And came in. “Are you ok? You may be a klutz but you always pick u- Oh My God, That’s a Baby!”

And I am waiting on an appointment, so Update! So some time skips.

For what ever reason Danny’s powers don’t start re-emerging until he is about five. (My head cannon is that Clark does a good job making him feel safe and doesn’t need to defend himself. Lex learns that feeling threatened is what triggers Val’s power too and gets less burns and bruises after that. He is So Damn Proud when she blasts Lionel away on sight. And worried his lawyers are working overtime on restraining orders to keep Lionel away.)

Anyway Danny’s powers fist show when that whole thing of Joker coming to metropolis and Batman officially meet’s Superman. And Superman uses x-ray vision to learn Batman is Bruce. Then later Bruce is seeing Lois home from their interview and gets to talking with neighbor across the hall Clark in a rather tense discussion. 5 year old Danny doesn’t like how upset this Bruce guy seems to be making his Daddy so he flies up and shoves Bruce into a wall. Leaving a sizable dent.

This is how both Bruce and Lois find out Clark is Superman. Mostly because Lois at first assumed Superman was Danny’s dad and was a dead beat that pretended to have died and pawn off Danny to his godfather Clark to raise. And as good a cover story that would be Clark sets the record straight with her cause that is not a public image he wants his alter ego to have.

Four years later Bruce has adopted 8 year old violet gremlin Dick Grayson and has know idea what he is doing and turns to the only other single father that knows his secret identity. Clark’s advice only helps so much. On the bright side Danny and Dick become great friends. On the down side even with Clark’s help and advice Bruce can’t seem to get Dick to stop trying to go out after the Zucco’s and so Dick becomes Robin. And Danny now wants to go out crime fighting just like Dick does. It takes a few months of pestering and sneaking out on his own before Superman finally gives in and let’s Danny become Superboy. (Ok small note, the only powers Danny has remanifested yet are ones that are like Superman’s as he is going through a childhood imitation phase.)

Over the next five yearsDanny, Dick and Wally meet and became friends. They get the nickname Chaos Trio due to something called The Sugar Rush Incident that has become legendary in the justice. Though no one that wasn’t there can get the full story what happened. Flash and Superman grimace and Batman just scowls even deeper when asked. What they do know is that Superboy, Robin, and Kid Flash are not allowed to be together unsupervised. Ever.

But now has come the big day. Superboy, Robin, Kid Flash, along with Aqualad, and Speedy are going to see the Justice League Washington DC base for the first time! Their first step to becoming league members! (And also the first time all five known Sidekicks have been together at once.)

Then Speedy brings down the excitement by revealing that the DC base isn’t the real headquarters , the watchtower in space is. Which they aren’t supposed to know about. (Danny did actually already know about it because he had seen it in the cool expensive telescope “Uncle” Lex had gotten him for a birthday gift. And seeing it Danny tried to fly up to it scaring Clark be how high he had gotten into the atmosphere. He got grounded for a while and was strictly told not to tell ANYONE about the watchtower.)

Speedy quits over feeling like they are still being treated like kids. Then Green lantern calls in a report about a fire at Cadmus Labs, but local authorities were taking care of it. And something else about group of cultists trying to block out the Sun. The adult heroes say they will finish the tour later and the kids to wait in the lounge of the dc base, while they go deal with the cultists.

And you know from there Robin gets the idea for them to go check out Cadmus labs since Batman has had suspicions he has wanted to check out for awhile now. What better way to prove they are ready then by handling a mission on their own. One quick pep talk to get everyone on board and a hack on the computer for Cadmus’ location and they are on their way.

Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Superboy make it into Cadmus and find the hidden underground levels the same as in the episode. What is Different is they learn there is project KR, and projects JR 1 and JR 2. Fortunately all in the same room at the bottom level. When they get there they find all three projects are clones. KR of Superman, and the JRs of Danny . Though while aging up worked “fine” for KR, the scientists records state the JRs started to destabilize so they had to slow it back down to a more natural pace. Also they have no idea why one of the JR clones turned out female. (So they tried to clone Danny but Clockwork knew those clones would fail. And since Dani was being a pest and Dan a jerk he decided to get another ancient’s help to fuse Dani and Dan to those clone and stabilize them. Also getting to pests out of his hair.)

Danny took one look at the two years aged clones, and was immediately was thinking baby siblings! He turns to Robin at the computer saying, “I want them out. They are coming home with me.”

Robin jus shrugged as if saying whatever and opened the pods. Then Wally asked “So what about the big guy?”

Danny looked up from adoring the baby clones in his arms and said “I already have to convince Dad to let me keep two baby siblings. What’s one more.”

The other three share a look of doubt before Aqualad nods and says, “ Do it.”

Then like in the episode where the scientist orders the gnome to have Connor attack the young hero’s. He punches Danny first, and Danny still holding the toddler clones only has the thought to protect them. Curling his body to take hitting into the wall, only to instead go intangible for the first time. He flies through two walls before he gets his legs halfway stuck in a third one. He is Dan’s going holding the giggling toddlers trying to figure out how to get out.

By the time he gets out and has wandered around to find the others Superboy has changed sides and they all escaped together. Once the fight is over and they are safe outside Danny is excitedly talking with Superboy2 which he is calling Superclone, and is absolutely appalled that Cadmus didn’t give him his own name but also tried to steal Danny’s hero name. How Rude!

Then the adult Justice League arrived. Robin and Aqualad are handling most of the report. “We checked out the fire and found more than we bargained for. Including Superman’s clone,” Aqualad nodded at the teen(Connor) holding the little girl toddler. “And Superboy’s little clones.”

Danny hearing him held up the clone he had a little higher, and came over to Superman tugging Connor along behind him. “So you know how you said you wished I had sibling’s to keep me company as a kid? Well I got you three! One even comes pre-aged to teenagers, so he can already take care of himself! No need to thank me.”

Superman stood there opening and closing his mouth like a fish before chocking out, “What?”

“I couldn’t just leave them, and Superclone even helped us escape. So what do you say? Can I keep my new siblings?” Danny asked with big practically glowing puppy dog eyes.

Superman blinks a few times vaguely aware of green lantern whispering to ask someone if this is like the Sugar Rush incident all over again, flash answering that now the sugar rush was way worse. Finally he signed “We are going to have a very Serious talk at home. You kids disobeyed orders, hacked a league computer, and nearly got yourselves captured or killed. The others mentors will deal with their protégés but you are now grounded, I’ll figure out the rest of your punishment later but for now you are going to wait at the justice league DC base with your new siblings until I can finish getting this cleaned up.”
