Notes on St. Paddy's

A week ago, Livehörnchen and me were at the St. Patrick's Day Festival in Fürth. The location "Grüner Baum" was lovingly decorated in green all over the place.

On Friday, March 15th, the United Kiltrunners hosted three concerts in the inn: Darth Polly, Deus Vult and Tir Nan Og. Traditional folk met Steampunk met modern folk-rock.

People from young to old came in their greenest green clothes and celebrated the event happily. The atmosphere was all jolly and a bit tipsy here and there, too.

After all, it was a great party event and we will surely come back to it next year. The best part is that all surpluses go directly to the non-profit association - the Kiltrunners help elderly or handicapped people on their ways through the town. The kids were so excited when you first explained Christmas to them. They had always hated the winter time having to be bundled up and in doors all the time but learning there was a holiday that meant they could get gifts they went slithering to their mother begging her if they could start doing Christmas as a family.

Talking about it with your partners you all agree it would be fun trying it and if it didn't work out then oh well. It could be a bonding moment with you and your step kids and your partners get to learn more about humans.

The kids had a lot of fun picking out decorations for the house and tree. Their dad helped put the decorations up where the two kids couldn't reach. Their mom watched with a smile as she hugged you, quietly whispering to you how much of a good idea this was.

Getting everyone Christmas themed aprons all five of you spent the day cooking cookies and other sweets

Everyone had stomach aches by the end of the night.

Your husband was a fan of the Christmas sweaters, he had a dad pun on it to which he laughed about any time some read it. Your wife had a red one with snowflakes on it, she liked it. Your step daughter had a reindeer impaling an elf on its horns, she was obsessed with it. While your step son had a Darth Vader sweater, he smiled so much when he got it. 

Of course y'all went and got photos taken to be framed with the sweaters on. You went out for hot chocolate after to warm everyone up and did a little window shopping to try and see what the kids would want for Christmas. 

As tradition you showed the kids home alone. You then had to explain to them after that no they can't put up traps all over the house like Kevin did and that no you and their parents aren't going away for the holiday's and the reason you were showing them this was to help train them ahead of time. 

Your wife told you not to show them that movie again.

You watched nightmare before Christmas instead after. You then had to explain that no they can't kidnap Santa and take over Christmas

You decided no more movies that night. 

Christmas day the kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement. They were too eager to even let you and your partners get some coffee going, they wanted to open gifts. So the five of you went to the living room. 

The kids loved everything they got, constantly thanking each person for the gift they got. They got the most gifts of course that's just how it goes with Christmas. What you weren't expecting was once all the gifts were open the kids handed you a badly wrapped gift. “They did it all themselves.” Your wife whispered to you. Carefully you pulled the wrapping paper away to reveal a handmade picture frame with a child's drawing in it. It was of the five of you drawn as well as a kid could do. The top of it said “I love my family” it brought tears to your eyes. Setting it down you gave both of them a hug. 

It's safe to say celebrating Christmas was going to happen every year after this.

She lets herself be distracted. The most closed of all of them. An actual literal real world child prodigy, boundlessly curious and passionate for the world, and ruthlessly strategic. And now -she has merged with the best evil minds of Newtopia, been forced. She has become the city's evil heart. She refused to see the rot at the heart of the kingdom (she's smart enough to have discovered it) and now she has been eaten by it. Shes lost all control of her body and mind - by all accounts she must be trapped under the suffocating crush of the Core, yet aware. But at least, she is not alone anymore ....

Anne is the leader in the field, the soldier, the superweapon, the beacon, the protector, Sasha is the general, the tactical and violent hand of/against the state, and Marcy is the queen....strategic, focused on systems, improving lives

God...the core sure is uhhh a horrific ancestor hivemind hanging out in the body of the kid you quite liked and then killed. The character design for Darcy is amazing

The question is why Sasha and Anne are hitting just little targets when they KNOW that the heart of Andreas' power is the music box. take that, and he can't invade shit

Sasha is more of a dog person...who woulda thought. Marcy and Anne are definitely the dogs in the relationship...

Opinión de Amphibia S3

A mi parecer, la mejor temporada, después que a Marcy le hacen dona, logra mandar a Anne, Sprig, Polly y el Hop Pop al mundo de los humanos. Anne se reencuentra con sus padres y le explica lo que pasó, de esto partimos para dar inicio a la tercera temporada.

Hay muchos puntos positivos en esta temporada, nos demuestran una cucharada de la vida de Anne en el mundo humano, mientras esta ultima intenta esconder a los Plantar al ser literalmente visitantes de otro mundo como lo fue Anne, Marcy y Sasha en Amphibia.

Hablando de Sasha, al ver la tercera temporada ya me había calmado con ella, y analice un poco su personaje, y con lo que nos muestran en la tercera, es simplemente una persona que por cuestiones desconocidas actuó como no debía, al menos intenta mejorar.

Y me dirán cualquier wea, pero Sasha con su atuendo de la rebelión, con el cabello suelto se ve muy bonita, aunque aún me da esos aires de Kirito por usar doble espada xd.

Volviendo con Anne, la persigue un agente del gobierno con el deber de atrapar a los Plantar al pensar que son extraterrestres, está también esta chica del museo que averigua sobre una antigüedad que tenía a un habitante de Amphibia.

Hubo también muchas referencias, entre ellas cosas de anime, pero una referencia algo más directa fue a star wars, con Anne con un sable de luz emulando una escena de Darth Vader en Rouge One:

Marcy, sufrió un cambio muy jodido, después de "revivir" y siendo casi salvada por la consejera Olivia y la general Yunan. Andrias los atrapa, y convierte a Marcy en The Core, o en Darcy (porque Dark Marcy)

El transcurso de la temporada es ver como Anne era en el mundo humano y escapando, la rebelión de los anfibios contra Andrias, y el arco final, la invasión a la Tierra por Andrias. En si toda esta temporada final, está demasiado buena, y recupera cosas de episodios "relleno"

Algo que destacar, son los dos episodios, All In es un episodio de doble duración, donde se nos muestra backstory de Andrias, además de un literal AMV y que Anne haya aplicado la de "ponganme un op de anime que asi peleo mejor".

El final de la serie, su parte central es la reconciliación del trio humano, y algún posible sacrificio. Anne es este sacrificio, y muere pero revive por razones de la propia serie. Para no dar tanta wea, es un bonito final, un buen final. Hiper recomendable la serie.

St. Patrick’s Day Festival - Fürth

Fürth goes green again! Franconia's 'Shamrock City' Fürth celebrates St. Patrick's Day with a little music festival. The event will take place at the Grüner Baum inn, which fits pretty well, don't you think? On March 15th, there will be three concerts featuring the local bands Darth Polly, Deus Vult and Tir Nan Og and we will be there to share photos and stories of the event. Bereits zum zweiten Mal veranstaltet der United Kiltrunners e.V. in der Kleeblattstadt Fürth ein kleines Festival zum St. Patrick’s Day. Vom 15. bis 16. März 2024 wird es im Gasthof „Grüner Baum” wieder irisch: mit Livemusik, DJs und jeder Menge Partystimmung. Das Kleeblatt, die Vorliebe zur Farbe Grün und die Liebe zur Musik verbinden Fürth mit der grünen Insel, sodass es kaum anders sein könnte, als dass der irische Nationalfeiertag auch hier gefeiert wird. 🍀🎶💚

Seid mit dabei, wenn Irish Folk und Mittelalter-Rock aufeinandertreffen! Livemusik mit drei Bands

Eröffnet wird der Freitagabend von DARTH POLLY, die mit Irish Folk und Shanties auf den St. Patrick’s Day einstimmen. Durch ihre harmonischen Satzgesänge wird so manche Gänsehaut beschworen, deren Energie dann direkt in lautes Mitsingen bei den Seefahrer-Shanties umgewandelt werden kann. Die Fürther Band war schon mehrfach auf der grünen Insel – und bringt jedes Mal ein Stück mehr Irland mit in die Kleeblattstadt.

Weiter geht es im Anschluss mit der Mittelalter-Rock-Band DEUS VULT. Klassischer Dudelsack wird hier mit E-Gitarre und Schlagzeug kombiniert. Diese spezielle Mischung macht die Oberpfälzer aus, denn die sieben Musiker sind mindestens genauso vielseitig. Durch das Einbringen von Steampunk-inspirierten Elementen sind ihre Auftritte nicht nur musikalisch, sondern auch optisch etwas ganz Besonderes.

Mit TIR NAN OG kommt eine Band zum St. Patrick’s Day Festival, die traditionelle irische Themen in ihrem ganz eigenen Sound umsetzt. Moderner Irish Folk Rock begleitet das Publikum durch den späten Abend und überzeugt mit einem Mix aus leichten Texten, aber auch dem ein oder anderen tiefgründigeren Song, wo mitgeschunkelt und -gesungen werden kann.

Listen, chronologically, the next part is Buck and Eddie on a romantic trip and dinner again, but we’ve had so much of that, and I really don’t want you to wait any longer for the most EPIC Halloween party ever. So...

My Buddie Sims - 21/? (Master Post)

Before the guests arrived and after the house was nicely decorated, Christopher took out his tripod and camera and took a few photos of his dads... who dressed up as Octavius and Jedediah from Night at the Museum - which definitely is one of the Buckley-Diaz boys’ favorite movies! 

Buck and Eddie fully embraced being super goofy and silly for those pictures. 

They moved the camera to the hallway to take pics in front of the entrance door instead as that makes for a nicer background and has better lighting, too. 

Of course, they also have a bowl with sweets for kids that come by for trick or treating. 

Eddie is completely smitten with how Buck looks as cowboy (and Buck definitely thinks Eddie looks super super hot in his Roman uniform, too).

After that, the guests are finally arriving. 

Here we have Hen as pirate (and Karen behind Eddie), Denny as zombie victim, and in the background is Lucy in some kind of Cabaret/Circus number, as well as Bobby who’s a vampire. 

And I'm sure you want to know what Christopher's costume is; maybe you can spot him in the background... Well, let's just say it'll make more sense once you also see what Emma dressed up as.

Anyway, Athena went as some kind of vampire witch queen, and the Buckley-Hans as well as Albert dressed up as Star Wars characters. At the front with her back turned to us, is Lena as viking warrior.

Ravi just went as some kind of 80s bad taste combo, including a moustache that works surprisingly well for him. And there, on the left, is Emma.

Maddie looks super cute as Leia, doesn’t she? And Hen compliments Emma on her really pretty little Mermaid dress. 

The party is a blast so far. The food is great too - lots of spooky Halloween dishes that the three of them have prepared for this day. 

The glowy ghost decorations are cute too, and here’s Buck enjoying spooky cookies with Athena and Bobby. 

Ravi - who is wearing long socks in sandals, amazing, right? - is getting to know Polly. 

And then, because the camera is still set up for it, various people are having fun taking goofy pictures. Here are Sophia and Ravi.

And finally, here are Christopher and Emma. 

Maybe you expected Chris to dress up as Prince Eric when Emma told him she’d be coming as Ariel, but no, he had a far better idea. Because, see, he thinks it would be much cooler to be ‘part of her world’ instead of making her live in his. (Yeah, he actually came up with that, and when he told Buck, Buck had to excuse himself because there was something in his eye).

Don’t they look absolutely adorable together? But Emma is still living with her moms in Toronto (or whatever Sims World equivalent there’d be), and they don’t get to see each other often, so they’re just friends. 

As for people who don’t live hundreds of miles apart...

Lena is really glad she got invited to this party (she and Eddie ran into each other again some time ago, and so he invited her), because Lucy looks absolutely stunning, doesn’t she?

ANNNND WE'RE BACK!~ This is such a good way to wrap up entirity of Amphibia 3A! Man imagine they aired this back after froggy little christmas and we need to go through hiatus with that cliffhanger lol! Ok so here's some details I noticed while watching this ep! Spoiler below as always!

LEGO The Owl House: The Video Game

I'm a big fan of TT Games and The LEGO Games so I thought it might be fun to imagine what a game based off The Owl House might look like.

Story Mode

The story would probably either be a short retelling of major parts of the show or an original (probably non canon) story set in The Boiling Isles. Assuming they went with an original story it would mostly likely involve our main cast of characters fighting to stop a plot by Belos etc.

Characters

Obviously it would include characters like Luz, Eda, King and Amity with a variety of outfits e.g. Grom, Winter etc. To fill out the selection they would probably make many background characters playable and they would be unlocked in the Open World through quests and puzzles. Mickey Mouse would likely be a secret character that can be unlocked. (I will touch on DLC characters in its own section)

Open World

The Boiling Isles would be the biggest location with all the known locations like The Owl House, Hexside and Blight Manor etc. You would likely be able to explore the interior of places like The Owl House. They would likely also include a small area of Earth that you can access through the Portal Door. The world would be full of character quests and puzzles much like other LEGO games such as LEGO Marvel.

DLC

It would probably have a few different packs:

-Good Witch Azura Level Pack. Comes with a Level based on the novels from the show. Would come with playable versions of the characters from the book as well as new looks for Luz and Amity in their Azura costumes seen in the show.

-Gravity Falls Level Pack. Comes with a Level based on Gravity Falls. Would include Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Ford, Soos, Wendy and Bill.

-Amphibia Level Pack. Comes with a Level based on Amphibia. Would include Anne, Sprig, Polly, Hop Pop, Sasha, Marcy, Grime and Andrias.

-Disney TVA Character Pack. Would include Scrooge McDuck, Molly McGee, Perry the Platypus, Milo Murphy and Star Butterfly.

-Avengers Character Pack. Would include Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow.

-Star Wars Character Pack. Would include Anakin Skywalker, Palpatine, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rey Skywalker and Kylo Ren.

Pre Order Figure

It would likely be Luz, unless LEGO also made sets in which case it would probably be a version of Luz in her Grom Outfit.

Abilities

Some characters would be able to turn into things e.g. Eda into Beast form. Some would be able to summon things e.g. Amity could create an Abomination which you then play as. Some could fly e.g. Luz using Owlbert. Different spells could be used to do different things e.g. fire spell to destroy gold objects like most LEGO Games.

Voices

They would probably try to get most of the cast back to do voices from the game. Some characters would have entry lines which play when you select them e.g. when selecting Eda she would say "I am Eda, The Owl Lady and the most powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles! But you probably knew that already!". Some characters would have lines where they interact for example Luz and Amity might have small flirty/flustered interaction (this is separate from dialogue in Levels etc).

Play Style

It would be pretty similar to most LEGO games with a few small changes to better fit The Owl House e.g. Glyphs that need a character like Luz to active for puzzles. It could feature something like "Stan Lee in peril" from the Marvel games but with Dana Terrace, so Dana would be trapped in different locations throughout Levels and the open world where you have to solve puzzles to save them and after saving them all you unlock Dana as a playable character.

So that's basically my idea for a LEGO game based on The Owl House. This will probably never happen (it would be awesome if it did) but I thought it would be interesting to explore the possibility. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Now armed with the knowledge of Nate being the only not-trans person in the Be Gay Do Crime squad, I cannot get the vision of them dressing up for Halloween, Remy as Obi-Wan, Nate as Darth anybody, and Polly going around saying that only a cis deals with absolutes while Remy (loudly) complains of her stealing his line.

Honestly, the way I use my evil characters is like how sometimes a little kid will get a figure of Darth Vader or some other villain and play with them as if they're just a friendly dude. Like, yeah, they ARE evil and HAVE committed crimes against humanity, but right now they're having a tea party with my Polly Pockets, so there.
