In the drifting silence of his empty apartment, Shen Wei presses the door shut, turns the lock. And then, like his body was waiting until he was alone, his legs give out. Shen Wei tips/topples against/into the wall, sinks down to sitting on the front mat/in the entryway. He sits there for a long time, curled into himself with his arms around his knees. The whole time, his body braced for the sound of Zhao Yunlan’s door opening, the sound of footsteps crossing the hall. Waiting, again, for Kunlun to return to him.  But no sound comes from outside his door. At last, Shen Wei tips his head back against the wall, lets out a soft, streaming sigh. The sound trembles in the still air. It’s the closest he’s come to crying in years, that he can remember.

from the up draft of the answer fic. im cutting it veryyyyyy close to the deadline this time ahahaha (nervous!) but the writing is going relatively smoothly (knocks on wood) and i think it'll turn out pretty delicious!!

Well, I've hit my word count for this month's writing challenge. (And that's not counting the gift fic.) Will I get through all the prompts before the end of the month? Probably not. But at this point, I'd still say it's a success.

It still got me writing, got me thinking about different worlds, genres, and characters, and got me exploring things I generally wouldn't if I were deciding what to write on my own without using a prompt list.

We'll see if I can get a few more stories in by the end of the year.

So I saw the @rexsoka-monthly double prompt two days ago, and now I have a 3k+ oneshot.

He bends forward to blow gently over the ink to dry it. Zhao Yunlan tilts with him, uncomfortably warm across Shen Wei’s shoulders, and Shen Wei merely bears the additional weight forward and back again. As Shen Wei sits back up, Zhao Yunlan lets go of him. A momentary respite of cool air and then Zhao Yunlan is stepping over Shen Wei’s crossed legs, climbing onto the couch beside Shen Wei, and plastering against his side, skin-to-skin wherever it’s possible. Mostly this means Zhao Yunlan’s face shoved into Shen Wei’s neck above the collar of his shirt, and Zhao Yunlan’s hands trying to undo Shen Wei’s belt to get at the skin under his shirt.  Shen Wei carefully caps his brush pen, transfers it to his other hand, and uses his free hand to shove Zhao Yunlan back across the couch.

the longest, slowest sentences from the fic i'm writing for guardian bingo prompt 2 -- i was seized somehow by the urge to write very languid and domestic summertime weilan, so i'm giving in to it. i've made it through a down draft (this is from that) and an up draft (thank god). i'm still figuring out how to stick the landing at the end, but it's pretty close!!

Merry Christmas

Pairing: Captain rex x Ahsoka Tano

Summary: Ahsoka and rex used to date before rex moved away to get his dream job. But before he left he and her had a night together now rex came home for Christmas and ahsoka has a surprise for him.

Rex wrapped his coat tighter around him self and muttered. Walking past people that were running past him. He stepped into a coffee shop and looked around and saw ahsoka sitting at a table. She had a promont baby bump.

Rex walked up to the table and spoke making ahsoka looked shock and spoke back.

"Ahsoka what are you doing here I thought I was meeting anakin here"

"Rex I thought I was gonna meet padme here"

Both of them looked at each other and ahsoka rubbed her stomach and spoke looking at the floor.

"Kriff I told them I would be fine with out your help but they won't listen to me Im sorry rex I didn't mean to drag you into raising a child I know you can help me with I should get going"

Ahsoka stood her eyes welling with tears and rex grabbed her face with both of his hands and spoke wiping away the tears on her face.

"ahsoka theirs no need to be sorry I don't hate you and please let me take you to our spot and you still drink you like from here"

Ahsoka smiled and spoke letting rex kiss her lips softly like he used to do and rex finished it.

"yeah a large hot chocolate with whip cream and"

"peppermint crumble I know cyar'ika"

Rex helped ahsoka step out of his truck and smiled at her and led her up the hill and laid a blanket on the ground and he spoke as ahsoka sat next to him resting her head on his shoulder.

"are you sure the baby mine soka"

Ahsoka took a sip of her cocca and smiled speaking as rex rested a hand on her stomach.

"yeah your the only one I had sexual relations with 5 months ago so yeah I'm pretty sure rex"

Rex spoke looking at the lights of the city and ahsoka spoke back smiling.

"Okay then why didn't you tell me that you were pregnant I would've came back and helped you"

"I know you would loved to come back and helped but you were so close to get your dream job I didn't want to push you back"

Rex felt a kick under her hand and smiled and spoke taken a sip of his coffee.

"well you don't have to worry about that anymore why don't you come to California with me"

Ahsoka looked at him shocked and then tear run down her check.

"Rex that to much for you to do for me"

Rex wiped away the tears on her check and smiled speaking.

"soka yes I need to do this for you I have a nice paying job there and have a medical care so because you carrying my child so I can take care of you so don't feel bad"

Ahsoka spoke smiling and rubbed her bump.

"okay rex I'll come with you I just need to pick up my bag from my brother house because I have things for the baby in it"

Rex looked worried and spoke as ahsoka took a sip of her cocca.

"is their any close for you in there for you"

"no expect the shirt you gave me"

Rex sighed and kissed the side of her head and spoke.

"alright and a question do you know the gender of the baby yet or not"

"Yeah I do I hope you're not disappointed it will be a girl"

Rex smiled and pulled out a box and opened it and ahsoka spoke back after he did.

"No I'm not and ahsoka tano will you marry me."

"Yes I will can we get married now I think we can't wait that much longer"

Rex smiled and spoke kissing her and ahsoka smiled back.

"yeah I think it's a good idea and repeat after me"

Ahsoka smiled speaking as rex covered her hand with his.

"Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde"

The both of them kissed as rex slipped the ring on her finger and spoke pulling back but ahsoka spoke first.

"I love you rex"

"I know soka should we get to your brother house"

Ahsoka started to look at the snow fall and spoke.

"mmm not yet I would like a few more minutes rex I would like you to hold us a bit longer."

Rex kissed her lips and he missed holding ahsoka and she missed being held by rex and their love was growing benther their hands.
