More drawings of the knight Dedede, this time using his powers (magic) in addition to showing a detail of his cape, he can transform it into a pair of pelican wings and tail.

This is an invention and gift from his master in magic (a rather important Halcandran, he is Ignus's father, who was not going to take advantage of the opportunity to get to know the mysterious pengu better), Marcus (for the same reason as the cat), Solaris and Silver (an almost white puff with white feathered wings who is a good friend of Solaris and father of a certain pearl champion xD) when he entered the order he was given as much freedom as his companions… Although he still prefers more be on land or sea than flying xD

Hi. So I’m not a Layton guy and all THAT familiar with the lore, but a close friend of mine is, and as far as I understand Layton has a dead girlfriend? Can I please know who Magolor’s dead girlfriend equivalent in this AU is? I’m legitimately so curious. /pos

I have been thinking A LOT about which Kirby character would fit Claire's (dead gf) role. In the end I chose Taranza bc I feel he and Claire are the most similar in character. They're both really good at what they do (Claire: brilliant scientist - Taranza: immaculate mage), quick thinkers, humble, and have a lot of love to give.

I'll explain more under the cut (along with images of Claire and younger Layton for design ref), but Taranza could've also fit in as a couple other characters bc I made Sectonia as Descole. In this essay I will-

In Kirby there's an interesting connection between Magolor and Taranza. Primarily based on that one Magolor portrait in that haunted house in Triple Deluxe (like ok huh????) and also that one Star Allies Wave 3 illustration.

With that portrait existing, to me it implies that Magolor has met Taranza and Sectonia before the events of the game somehow. This theory is further backed up with the Old Friend mask in Merry Magoland. Magolor would HAVE to have known what Joronia looked like before her transformation, and that means he would also have met Taranza too at that time. I could be completely wrong about this HAHA but those are my thoughts on that.

When Wave 3 was announced, I didn't think much on the connection of the 3 characters other than they were from the first three core games of modern Kirby. But then they posted this art piece.

It's so cute how Magolor and Taranza combined their magic to create a shield for Kirby!! Both of their respective magic circle designs are melded together perfectly. Did they practice together on their own to perform this or was that a lucky in-the-moment occurrence? Either way, they must know and understand each other's magic abilities to a decent extent. Like how both Claire and Layton understands each other's careers and goals. Layton is a professor in archeology. Claire is a scientist researching time travel and other stuffs. Those fields go hand in hand, and the two do what they can to support and improve each other's passions.

Now onto the other characters that Taranza would've fit as and reasons why I ended up putting him as Claire.

So I put Sectonia as Descole. Descole has an extremely loyal partner/butler/henchman named Raymond. Yea Taranza would easily fit as him, but a few things made me decide not to. Descole may appear cold and not show it, but even in his madness he cares for Raymond. He does order Raymond around, but he still gives Raymond freewill to do as he pleases. Sectonia is very controlling over Taranza. If Raymond were to make mistakes, I don't see Descole punishing him for them. Sectonia would. She blasted Taranza away for mistaking Dedede as the hero of the lower world. Maybe when she was Joronia she wouldn't and wasn't as controlling but....I feel we don't have the full story on their relationship. I also focused more on Sectonia's overall in-game personality. I absolutely love seeing the two spiders enjoying each other's company and having fun, but in-game we never really got what Joronia really thought of Taranza. As Sectonia, she saw him as a disposable servant. You can say her personality was corrupted by the mirror, but I personally believe the mirror actually amplified her negative feelings and views. Negative emotions are brought up a lot in Kirby lore. I personally find that more interesting than just the mirror possessing her or something. I may be very wrong on that, but those are what I thought about.

Last reason, which is uhm, Raymond saves Descole from death FGDHSJ I don't think I need to elaborate on that. It would be so neat and ironic to have Taranza as Raymond, but I also wanna keep things in line as possible with Kirby lore canon.

Yet, who could be Raymond then? Idk fgdsj that's why I struggled so much. If Claire wasn't an option, Taranza would've been Raymond.

Now the one other character Taranza could've fit as is Descole's late wife. His wife was never mentioned by name, to my memory, and didn't have a huge role in the games. There's not enough information on who she was. I wanted to give Taranza a fitting role in personality and importance.

So in the end after all that thinking, Claire it is! I also don't know who else in the Kirby cast would fit her better and be Professor Magolor's late partner. One may think Susie would fit Claire more, but I've already decided she will be Emmy. Emmy's and Susie's personalities are very similar to me. And Emmy's lore? Fits quite well with Susie's. I'll draw that at some point.

I've been rotating Kirby characters in my head again and thought up a story in which Kirby gets pulled into an alternate timeline and ends up in a dystopic version of Dream Land where everything is dark and scary and miserable, King Dedede has been deposed and overthrown by an evil villain who's taken over the land and he's gone missing, and Meta Knight leads a band of revolutionaries in Dedede's name (said revolutionaries being the Halberd's crew + Bandana Waddle Dee)

I have yet to figure out what happened to this timeline's Kirby, since everyone is supposed to know who he is and be surprised to see him, so I guess that implies their timeline's Kirby is gone? :(

but anyway, rough plot goes as such---Kirby ends up in this alternate timeline and doesn't understand what's happened. his first indicator of what's happened is finding wanted posters of people he recognises, like Bandana and the Meta-Knights, and when he finds Meta Knight's wanted poster, he's even more confused. what little he can understand of what the poster says is saying he's committing crimes against the king, but why would Meta do that? aren't Meta and Dedede friends? didn't they call each other sworn partners? what happened?

he eventually encounters the rebels themselves and they're shocked to see him, and he's shocked to see them, especially Meta Knight, the rebel leader, wearing Dedede's robe over one of his shoulders (like a one-shouldered cape) and his men bearing the crest of the king. Meta and the others explain to Kirby that Dedede had been overthrown by an evil being and has been missing ever since, the only things left of him being his crown and robe (the latter which Meta stole from the villain). the villain calls himself the king, and has told the people of Dream Land that Dedede is gone and is never coming back, but Meta Knight refuses to believe that, citing that he knows the king is out there, he can feel it, and he won't rest until he beats the blackguard who deposed him and finds Dedede. thus he created the rebel group out of his own men (and Bandana joined) and dubbed them the "Knights of Dedede". (now I am a metadede shipper so that would be why there's a lot of unending devotion vibes here but if you're thinking this could be out of character for Meta Knight, I feel like the other reason he named his band of revolutionaries the Knights of Dedede and dons the king's robe is to really stick it to the villain, who wants the public to forget about him, but Meta won't let that happen, and obviously won't rest until the villain is defeated. and yes I know Meta once tried to overthrow Dedede himself and I think that makes this funnier.)

Kirby joins the rebel cause and they storm the castle, where the villain is, and we learn more of the history of this timeline---various rebels have been imprisoned by the villain more than once, including Meta Knight himself, but they've all managed to break out, usually Meta coming to break his men out. the villain is insistent on making Meta bend to his will and serve him, because, you know, that would mean he had truly won and truly ran the kingdom if even Dedede's most loyal knight and the resistance leader was defeated and served him, but Meta refuses to yield, and this is where Kirby would fight the villain, beat him, and when the villain gears up for round two, Meta creates a diversion, urging his men and Kirby to flee, which they don't wanna do, but they have to, and Meta is captured in his attempt to protect them

Kirby and the Knights of Dedede then go on a quest to find Dedede, because if Meta believe's he's still around, he must be, and they find him, I was thinking deep in the heart of some woods or something, could also be deep underground or underwater, whichever fits, but encased in stone like a statue, and through some magic or some new ability, they manage to free Dedede from his stone prison, and guy has no idea what's happened and has to be brought up to speed while they rush back to the castle

they storm the castle again, and the villain is angry at seeing this. meanwhile, Meta Knight, who is chained beside the throne (for peak humiliation vibes which would fit a sadistic villain), is filled with resolve anew at the sight of his men and his king returned, and all hell breaks loose as they rush the villain, free Meta, and assemble as a full team, and then another battle ensues (I'd think it would be all of them ganging up on the villain in the first phase of the battle, but in the second, maybe Kirby gets the spotlight because he's Kirby, or it's just the quartet of Meta, Dedede, Bandana, and Kirby) and when the villain is defeated, Kirby is sent back to his timeline and everything is fine

I also thought it would be really funny if his friends from his timeline were able to see everything that happened in the alternate timeline via like a magic crystal ball or something. I just think that would be funny. ALTERNATIVELY you could have this whole plot not be an alternate timeline and just something that happens in this timeline and the explanation of Kirby not knowing what the hell happened is that he was like knocked out for an unspecified but long amount of time, and that would also explain why everyone knows about him and they're all surprised to see him back.

anyway enough rough plot explanation now have some of the funny things I said about this idea

...I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those AU's I just "make" and then not really do anything with (the funny/slice-of-life ones usually turn out that way) and if so...I don't really mind, I had fun just coming up with this. ^^ In case you couldn't tell, this one is Earthbound-inspired~

Kirby A "good kid", as his fathers often call him. One day he met a fairy from a faraway land, and decided to help her out. After all, it's the neighborly thing to do.

Ribbon An alien girl from the planet Ripple Star. 500 years ago, give or take a few decades, her friend Adeleine went missing, and now she's beginning to get worried. Her only clue as to her whereabouts is the strange planet known as Shiver Star, which is now teeming with life. Everywhere she goes in this resurrected world, she feels a dreadful power in the air...

Dedede Kirby's sometimes-rival, sometimes-best friend. When he heard that Kirby was traveling to the center of the earth with some magical bug girl, he knew he wasn't about to be left out of the adventure.

Marx A mysterious boy who lives in the Impact Crater, an area of the world that the others were somehow completely unaware of before. He has a lot of interesting abilities, and seems just as eager to find Adeleine as Ribbon is. Why? No one knows...

Waaaah Im glad you like it 🥹 i havent got too much on it as of right now but I have plans to develop it more once ive finished my uni project !!

as right now though here are some of the details/character roles:

Mario - Kirby Luigi - Bandee Bowser - Dedede Peach - either Tiff/Fumu (from the anime) or potentially Adeleine I haven't decided on that yet, originally i went straight for Fumu but i got a comment saying Adeleine would be a great fit too !! it all depends on whether i wanna include anime characters or not

Count Bleck - Meta Knight Tippi/Timpani - Galacta Knight (its their love story bc metagala forever 🫶) Nastasia - Sailor Dee O'chunks - Mace Knight Mimi - Javelin (the other meta-knights would be present too but have less of a role in the story as those 3)

Dimentio - Marx ^^^ originally i was gonna have vul as dimentio as i wanted all of count bleck's minions to be the meta-knights, but it also makes sense for the one non meta-knight character to be the one to betray them and marx just fits perfectly thematically >:)

as a little extra Merlon would be Morpho Knight which is my explanation for why Galacta Knight appears as a pixl butterfly, Morpho having the butterfly motif is my justification for the sense around galacta being their own butterfly that isnt just the morpho butterfly :)

okay now with characters done with,, the general narrative is the same destroying the world after galacta/tippi is "gone" but more fit around the ancients and heroes of yore lore being the driving point for meta and galacta meeting and forming a bond which then leads to the events of the game:

Meta's family (the tribe of darkness) were responsible for trying to end the world before using the dark prophecy (to make their own world and have the power to govern it) - meta being younger at this time had no say in what happened, Nightmare is the head of the family and the one who attempting to end the world (but thats not too important as nightmare plays no role in the main story anyways its just context).

The heroes of Yore (which includes Galacta as the hero of heart going off of my own personal hcs) were the ones to stop the family and strike some sort of deal that prevented them from using the dark prognosticus, saying if they were to try such a thing again then the heroes would be less merciful and banish the entire tribe away, knowing the heroes were more than powerful enough to live up to their threat the nightmare gave in, and the dark prognosticus was hidden away by the heroes to prevent the dark prophecy from being initiated once again.

Years down the line (much like in the original story) meta ends up getting injured and galacta comes across him, nursing him back to health. Meta didnt know about the heroes of yore and their threat to the family so wasnt aware of who galacta was, vice verca with galacta they werent aware meta was part of the tribe of darkness at the time. the two bond and eventually fall in love <3

Eventually nightmare finds out about and becomes enraged about his son and the enemy in such a relationship. He scolds meta and tells him not to go near Galacta again as the heroes 'ruined everything for them' and 'befriending them will only ever bring trouble to their family' in attempt to protect his son from them. however, meta doesn't listen as he's head over heels in love with Galacta at this point. In retaliation, Nightmare uses all of his magic to produce a strong spell to seal Galacta away in a crystal, in a far off dimension so Galacta and meta cannot meet again, as a way of protecting Meta and stopping any trouble from coming to their family.

Like in the original, Meta becomes devastated but enraged by the loss of Galacta, thinking they're dead and not seeing worth in a world without them. finding minions through the meta-knights and tracking down the dark prognosticus, Meta decides to bring about the dark prophecy and spawn the void, starting the beginning of the end.

Morpho comes across the crystal with galacta sealed within it. The amount of power needed to unseal them is a lot, and so Morpho not being powerful enough by themself, inwardly uses galactas life force alongside their own magical ability to unseal them, though this results in galacta becoming very weak and in order to save them, Morpho turns them into a pixl, and like tippi in the original story galacta loses all memory of who they were before being a pixl.

thats the main stuff i have for now which when looking over it,, is quite a bit 😅 there are still some aspects i need to adjust/change, the main one being the formation of the chaos heart bc if i have tiff/adeleine in peach's role i am not having them get forcefully married to king dedede 💀 for obvious reasons

^^ my initial thoughts are just having the chaos heart form from meta's pain and emotions, we will see i will be developing and thinking about it more once i have the free time :)

What if any of Kirby's friends were to catch him being really sad or even crying?

These are my headcanons for how Kirby's friends would try to comfort him or cheer him up whenever they catch him crying, or just being really sad in general.

A really sad Kirby is not something that anyone wants to see!

King Dedede would give Kirby big comforting bear-hugs while also listening to him ventilate on why he's crying. He'd also try to say some funny things in an attempt to improve Kirby's mood. Maybe even offer him a little hammer to go bash objects for kicks and giggles.

Meta Knight would want to know the reason why Kirby is crying, and if it's someone who caused it, then he'll beat them up. He'd attempt to give advice and comfort Kirby, even if he's not exactly the best at that, but he'd do his best to make sure his little buddy feels better.

Bandana Waddle Dee would pat Kirby's shoulder a bunch as well as offering a hug to try to comfort him. He'd also ask him if he'd like to play a fun game together to make the rest of the day better.

The animal friends would all be very concerned if they caught Kirby really feeling down and would want to know why he's upset. Rick, Nago, and ChuChu would all give him hugs, with Nago being a literal cuddle-bug! Coo may potentially also give a hug, but would usually carry him in the air to give him some good breeze. Kine would tell him jokes and maybe also give him a ride inside his mouth while he swims through a pond or something. Pitch would also tell him jokes, and perhaps ask Kirby if he wants to play around.

Gooey would ask Kirby if he'd like something to eat, and may also let Kirby hug him to give him some comfort. He would likely also ask if he'd like to play. He may even offer to sleep with Kirby inside his house for the night to help improve the rest of his day.

Marx is the reason why Kirby is crying. Marx needs to get his butt kicked! LOL.... just kidding. In all seriousness, while Marx is generally not good at comforting people, I think he'd try to cheer Kirby up by saying funny stuff, or making funny faces. He may also take him out to go have some fun.

Adeleine would ask Kirby if he'd like to draw with her to help get his mind off of things! If he doesn't want to draw, then she'd offer to let him watch her, and she'll be willing to paint anything he'd want her to paint. She may also summon food through art to cheer him up, too.

Ribbon would be very worried to see Kirby upset. She'd give him a hug. She'd take him to go find his very favorite food to help improve his mood. She would also tell him that tomorrow will be better.

Shadow Kirby would give his pink counterpart some pats on the shoulder and tell him funny things to help cheer him up. He'd also offer to go find food together.

Dark Meta Knight would let Kirby temporarily use his sword to play around with for a bit until he begins to feel better.

Daroach would offer to take Kirby to go "shopping" (stealing). He'd also perform some magic tricks for him as a way to make him see cool things to help get his mind off of things. He may also tell jokes!

Magolor would offer to take Kirby to Merry Magoland and rig the games to help him win the biggest prizes. Before Magoland opened, he would take Kirby on a quick ride to the Lor Starcutter to help cheer him up. He'd also tell him jokes and do his best to make him laugh.

Taranza would give Kirby a big hug. He'd ask him if he'd like to do a quiet activity such as gardening. He could also try to make cool things out of his magic to give Kirby some super cool stuff to look at to help cheer him up.

Susie would take Kirby out to get some ice cream somewhere, and they'd both eat ice cream together. She'd also give him a robotic toy or an electronic to play around with. If he feels especially down, she might also decide to sing him a soothing lullaby!

The Mage Sisters would all give Kirby head-pats and maybe even let him use their weapons for a bit to destroy things for fun. They may also put up a 'show' for him where they all coordinate in doing visually cool things with their weapons.

Elfilin would give Kirby a hug and ask if he'd like to play around. If he's in Popstar and catches Kirby sad there, he'd offer to open up a portal to visit Waddle Dee Town again for Kirby to have fun there.

That's basically how I headcanon Kirby's friends cheering him up if they catch him in a sad mood, whether it's him crying or just being very sad in general. Some of them may not be good at comforting but one simply does not like to watch precious Kirby be so sad. They'd try to help even if it may be awkward.

Ok but what if she went to waddle Dee town in the forgotten land and all the waddle Dee’s just accepted her because they are really nice and not rude and they accept her and she has fun and a good time please I really need this for her

i considered drawing something out to this, and making it a happy ending sort of thing, because i think this is extremely sweet as a concept and i understand the desire for it!

that said, i decided that it would be a disservice to the lore i'm building for her, my biology/magic headcanons, and also the waddle dees as a whole. i might still draw it some day, because i could absolutely perceive a way it would work (ie: all waddle dee signatures messed up by Elfilis's portals, or their magic sensitivity nuked by it.) and i think it would be lovely

but for now, i have too many other things on the backburner to get to this promptly, and i wanted to answer this one sooner rather than leaving it for months

i will say, they're not being rude to her! there might be the odd one or two who is a bit snide, but there are some of those in every society. as a general rule the waddle dees not only understand that she is struggling, they want to accept and help her. many of them even know she's lonely, and feel pretty bad about it. but it's hard, and not just because she makes people uneasy!

i draw parallels with starstruck's gummed up magical signature to autism, as i'm autistic and so by merit (as a sona), so is she. but there are some parts that do not line up with the way autism functions in our world, and one of them is that touching or being around her can be genuinely, literally painful for some of the very sensitive waddle dees.

despite that, her waddle dee doctors actually pushed through it while she was in the castle dedede infirmary. because they were determined to treat her (mostly-surface-seeming) injuries and help her feel better. and they apologised for the reactions that they couldn't control anymore than she could control her signature; the various "sorry"s she parrots in this comic are implied to be from waddle dee doctors.

it's a fine line in alien-storytelling, especially with a real world disability parallel, and i'm trying to tread it as carefully as i can. but i don't intend to villainise the waddle dees at all for their reaction to her; they truly can't help it. many of them even do their best to push through it if she comes into their vicinity, especially because she often arrives with Beloved Celebrity, Captain Bandana Waddle Dee. but like a lot of us, she can tell when she's being tolerated, and so as a rule she just sort of tries to avoid it, one way or another

Name: Sectra Dee

Debut: Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Sectra Dee is exactly like a Waddle Dee... but it’s a bug! Isn’t that grand? Yes! It is! And you agree. For a little while, I was disappointed these were not called Waddle Bees, but I’m over it now! Sectra Dee is, thematically, a good name, especially since it facilitates the naming of variants, as well! And there are so many variants!

The most straightforward is Parasol Sectra Dee! Parasol Sectra Dee is exactly like a Parasol Waddle Dee... but it’s a bug! Isn’t that grand? Yes! It is! And you agree. Parasol is one of my favorite abilities for how whimsical it is, and it’s even more fun to see a bug using it! This insect can’t fly, but at least it can glide jovially.

But these variants are not all merely Sectra Dees with different props! They are so much more. Kirby is not in Dream Land anymore, no no. He is in Bug World! “Buzz buzz!” -the bugs

Sectra Burt is the one Sectra variant blessed with the miracle of flight! Bronto Burt is already vaaaguely bug-like with its particular style of wings, but this one goes above the ambiguity and is oh so bug. It even has a pointy stylet on its face! I know it will slurp some liquids! I hope not yours or mine!

Then there is Sectra Knight, a bug redesign of Lanzer, a spear knight enemy! This one is especially funny to me. It looks like it’s wearing a mask with a bug face on it! Is it a fraud? Is that a non-bug under there? Or is that its real face, and its cuticle is just shaped in such a way it looks like a mask? I will assume that it IS a mask, and it has the exact bug face underneath. I’m a silly one!

Sectra Shooter is a bug who will shoot you! Imagine being stung by a bug, only to notice the bug is feet away from you, and just shooting you with arrows out of spite. I’m glad that doesn’t happen in real life, both because it would hurt, and because people would use it to hate bugs even more. But Sectra Shooter is a cool creature! Very cool compound eye shades, and I like how the top of its head kind of evokes a hat, with its antennae like feathers!

Finally there is Sectra Gordo, who we have talked about before! The most different in style of all of these, and also one of the funniest. Just a levitating and indestructible beetle. Magical beetle!

But this post is about Sectra Dee, and I got sidetracked! They have only appeared in Triple Deluxe and Blowout Blast, only having story significance in Triple Deluxe. But it’s kind of vague! All we really know is they inhabit Royal Road, the realm of Queen Sectonia, and probably serve her. But that’s all we get! I like to think they really are just like Waddle Dees, little guys just living their lives, not truly meaning any harm but maybe sometimes getting roped into bad crowds.

At least, we get some Sectra Dee Content in one of the manga, where they are serving Taranza just like Waddle Dees serve Dedede! Cinematic parallels. Are those eyelashes on the one in the back? Awesome! a Girl Bug.

Small angst warning for a particular section!

These swashbucklers (excluding Susie) are the only known pirates that possess natural magic. The Squeaks are pretty intimidated by them because of that, lol-

Before Captain Mags became a pirate, he was an ordinary mage. He heard many, many tales of Captain Meta and his crew who sailed the Halberd and embarked on dangerous and thrilling adventures, finding all sorts of treasure along the way. Inspired by the Swordsman of the Sea’s bravery (and a little greed-driven by the thought of treasure), he convinced his fellow friends Marx and Taranza to join him as he tried to bring his high-sea fantasy to life.

With some redecorating, the three had successfully transformed Magolor’s flying ship, the Lor Starcutter, into a flying pirate ship. They renamed it to the Jolly Starcutter.

Before meeting the others, Susie had spent pretty much her whole life as a sailor, working alongside her father. However, she got separated from him in a terrible ship accident involving the notorious Fatty Whale. Dedede had caught sight of Susie slowly sinking to the bottom of the ocean and immediately rescued her, bringing her up to the surface and saving her life thanks to the power of the Sapphire Brooch. Unfortunately, Susie’s father was nowhere to be found. Dedede stayed with Susie and comforted her for the while, and even attempted to signal passing ships to come and rescue her. After a few attempts, the Jolly Starcutter had noticed the signal, and after hearing an explanation of Susie’s situation, the crew was happy to take her in. They bonded quite well with her. To this day, Susie feels like she owes her life to the mysterious siren for saving her from her watery grave.

Magolarr is pretty great friends with Captain Meta, and his crew knows him quite well.

One activity the two captains like to do together is deep dive into books on ocean myths and legends. Sometimes they spend hours on hours in the Jolly Starcutter’s library doing research and chatting over tea.

Meta had never directly told Mags about his crush on Dedede, however, one day as they were going through a book, they had stumbled upon a section on sirens. Mags had noticed Meta’s constant smile while reading the sections out loud and had started teasing him for it. Meta ended up accidentally revealing that he’s not only encountered the siren king face to face before, but had ended up developing feelings for him as well. Regretting revealing so much information, Meta made Mags swear on his own life not to tell a soul what he heard. (I may or may not draw this out because I think this would be a funny interaction-)

Anyway, random headcanons about the guy below.

Not only is he shorter than the average Dark Matterborn, since he refused to use Dark Magic for most of his life, it also took him unusually long to grow horns for the same reason.

Having been raised by a Halcandran he knows a lot more about this rare species than most. Upon meeting Magolor he occasionally would make casual comments using his unique knowledge which originally caused the mage to be very suspicious of him.

His secretive nature is at least partially something he picked up from his adoptive father, who created the Master Crown and didn't even drop a single hint about his past until after the events of RTDL, when Meta Knight told him about the crown.

The Galaxia has always been in his possession, as far as he can tell, yet his father didn't allow him to wield her properly until he was certain that his swordsman skills were high enough as to not risk another disaster related to the blade.

He gets along with Marx surprisingly well and the two appear to have a lot of mutual respect for one another. The jester will still dunk on the knight whenever an opportunity reveals itself, yet Meta Knight doesn't turn hostile whenever this happens since they are friends.

The events of Revenge of Meta Knight were partially triggered by Marx asking Meta Knight for help, after the King of Dreamland had repeatedly failed to keep Popstar safe.

It took Meta Knight a while to warm up to Dedede. He didn't take him seriously until he realised that they have a lot in common. For instance they both didn't know where they originally came from and were raised by adoptive parents.

Meta Knight has a brotherly relationship to Kirby more than a fatherly one, though doesn't really put labels on their relationship at all. If asked he'd call them a close friend.

He first saw the Dimensional Mirror when his father acquired it in exchange for a sword from the mirror's deceased creator's brother-in-law. It was broken and painstakingly repaired by him and Meta Knight soon after got to meet his reflection for the first time. They were close friends until the events of KATAM.

Meta Knight was asked to join the GSA at one point but refused not wishing to serve under anyone but himself.

Galaxia often speaks to him and offers him advice and comfort, yet is very secretive about their shared past which greatly frustrates him.

He idolised Galacta Knight for the longest time, much to the frustration of his father. Upon meeting Galacta Knight for the first time and witnessing his sealing he attempted to break him free, yet failed. He spent a long time trying to find out how to undo the seal.

It was Marx who told him how to summon the Clockwork Star Galactic Nova and he and Magolor joined him on his quest to do so.

His original name was Metachiroptera, shortened to Chiro. He'll turn hostile upon being called by that name.

He knew Captain Vul since he was a child. The then pirate attempted to steal the Galaxia and failed miserably. They've been friends ever since.

He's terrible at piloting space ships and most other vehicles and overall doesn't have a vast knowledge of technology. He got his crew for that. Instead he knows quite a lot about magic. The opposite applies to King Dedede, who knows little of magic but a lot about creating and piloting machines.

He knew Daroach since before he made a name for himself as Meta Knight.

His primary ability is his weapon ability, sword, yet he as an adult he began to learn the magical abilities ESP and Tornado.

His Dimensional Cape was created and enchanted by his father when his wings began to grow in.

Meta Knight was raised on a planet called Silverstar, which is known for its thick fog.

Personality

— Jambastian Majaway is cold and calculated when things go her way, but when they don’t, her anger issues show. As a psychic mage, she usually thinks to before acting. Her pride knows now bounds, believing that she is the most powerful Mage of not just of the Jambastian but the Universe she lives in.

— Despite her dark actions and somewhat lack of remorse, she does indeed have compassion. She has a close relationship with a Magolor Soul Beast she calls “Gate Keeper,” who shape shifts to his regular Magolor form from time to time. While many people think he’s a pet, her bond with him is much more complicated.

— When it comes to friendships, aside from Gate Keeper, she can’t comprehend any sort of relationship other than transactional. She can’t register praise and love properly and deems it sinful. She gets nervous, flustered, and defensive whenever something nice happens to her without any way of her “earning it.” Flirting with her will cause her to blush, and call you a ‘demon’ in an endearing way.

— When she had plans, she is thorough, making sure any complications are not an issue to her. She knew how much of a threat The Dream Team (Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Dee), were so they were a primary target before what the universe calls “The Calamity” could be underway. Also she made sure that Void Termina is kept docile so it couldn’t turn on the Jambastian at any moment.

- She wants to prove herself as worthy of her title as a powerful Mage. However her insecurities and anger gets in the way.

Backstory:

Not to be confused with “Heart Hero Majaway,” Jambastian Majaway is native to Universe 4162 (the universe my AU is set on). As a child she was trained under Count Manke, her father. She wore herself too thin and any accomplishments she made was given little reward. As a psychic mage her goal was to control anything or anyone around her. Eventually it was time for her to control a Nova despite how dangerous that was. She was scared, but her father insisted, berating her and calling her a coward for even doubting her abilities. It’s due to doubt in her heart and lack of proper training that she failed, blowing the nova up and leaving her to rot in the vacuum of space. With her body struggling to be kept alive, her father not bothered enough to even find her, and her consciousness fading for what felt like forever, Hyness took her in, reviving her with powerful magic at an exchange for allegiance for his cause. Indoctrinated into the Jambastian cult, she ended up becoming much more hungry with power than she first thought. Her weakness of insecurity made it easy for Void Termina to keep a hold of her for quite some time.

Due to her psychic abilities, it’s thanks to her that the Jambastian’s plan for the summoning Void Termina was executed properly.

— Gate Keeper is a great asset to Jambastian Majaway. She listens to his advice often, accepts his praise and gifts, and tends to give comfort at a time of need. In return, she makes sure that his needs are kept. She makes sure his guns (his primary weapon) are in mint condition, checks if his shape shifting skills are controlled, and gives reassurance that she won’t leave him.

Primary Problem:

— While she doesn’t know it yet, she loved him, and is constantly running away from that truth. She also knows that he loves her which wracks her with guilt, but he says he’s patient enough to wait for a decision, knowing it’s up to her whether she accepts his love or not.

Name: Hattirby (Hattie for short)

Pronouns: He/Him

Personality: Hattie takes things very seriously - if he's dedicated to something, there's not joking around. To him, many activities are a waste of time. He doesn't like being vulnerable, even around his best friends. (I may update this later. I got lazy)

Hattirby has magic powers, but he doesn't like using them for reasons that are explained under the cut.

He is a young adult, a couple years younger than Meta Knight.

Backstory and Lore: Oh boy there is a lot! Check under the cut. (tw: death)

When Hattie was younger, he lived on a completely different planet in the galaxy. One particular month, the planet started to see darker skies, more enemies than normal, and general strange occurrences.

At the end of the month, the planet was suddenly attacked by a creature made of darkness, whose proximity to the planet caused all the weird behavior. The inhabitants of the planets tried to flee and fight back, but many lost their lives. Hattie's parents tried to defend him and his sister from the monster's minions, but they both died in the process and Hattirby's sister fled the planet without him.

Hattie, stuck alone with the minions, tried to defeat them, but he didn't know how to work his parent's weapons so he couldn't get any damage done. After wrecking havoc across the planet, the monster reached Hattirby, who was one of the last people still on the planet. It wanted to kill him by shooting a beam of darkness right through him, which is what it did.

Fortunately, a group of magic users who were trying to heal their own wounds noticed the beam and rushed to help him. After hours of testing different methods, they concluded that the damage from the darkness was too powerful to be removed, so they instead sealed the dark magic away into Hattirby's soul through his head and stitched it up using a special type of magic that would ensure that the darkness would not escape and possibly take control of Hattie.

The monster, assuming that Hattirby had died, left the planet. He hadn't died, but he was very fatigued. One of the wizards who had healed the puffball offered to take him to another planet to recover, and he gladly accepted.

The magician found a small flying boat (like the Lor, but tinier) among the ruins. They loaded Hattie up and flew them all the way to Popstar, which they believed was the closest planet that wouldn't be attacked by the monster.

After dropping Hattie off and getting him settled in a house close to Castle Dedede, the wizard waved him goodbye as they believed the monster might follow them there.

for context, because i dont think people outside of artfight know much of remidee, they're an apothecary who deals minorly in fighting and magic as an aspiration. due to how injuries work in my mirrorverse, traditional medicine is in extremely low demand and basically not needed. mirror!remidee has leaned almost totally into being a fighter as a result. coincidentally enough, this also reflects regular remidee's worst insecurities for reasons that are a bit too wordy to explain right now

after the fall of shadow dedede's monarchy, they found themself in mirror floralia as a refugee. they're not as good as fighting as the rest of the army, but the queen isnt one to turn away someone so loyal and ready to dedicate themself to the kingdom. officially theyre in the army as a fighter of the same level of the sectra dees, but really theyve been designated as just the guy that brings the banner into battle

mir!remidee would scare the absolute hell out of regular remidee, for reasons they couldn't quite place, even though mir!remidee is actually quite nice. it's the existential dread, remidee....

on the other end of the spectrum, dreamy gear remidee has leaned fully into being an apothecary, considering there's no need for fighting and magic is extremely rare. they keep a pretty nice shop in the town of wind (<novel lore, for you folks who don't know). they seem richer than the other residents or overly-well off at first glance, but medicinal ingredients are very difficult to get a hold of in this setting, and they're quite passionate about their work, so they have a lot of high quality supplies

dg sunset is a carrier pigeon, basically. child of single dad manager dedede, they help deliver mail. though they have a habit of getting into trouble more often than not on the job while jumping from rooftop to rooftop. remidee has a sense of disdain for dedede in this universe thanks to sunset's shenanigans

🍒 (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?

Sunset: i don't hc the mirror counterparts to be related to or have familial relations with their regular counterparts, but dmk would definitely be the fun uncle to sunset. both magolor and taranza get a thumbs down from her, not because of their past crimes, but simply because she thinks they're "kinda weird and annoying"

Remidee: i swear to god this has absolutely nothing to do with my own affinity for zan but remidee admires zan a lot. combining elemental magic with weaponry is notoriously hard in my universe, requiring a lot of skill and control to do. remidee is practicing spearplay and electric/beam magic, so this lines up very well. marx scares remidee a lot.

Alexandria: alexandria doesnt get any friends for reasons relating to her Themes. but im sure shed be extremely fond of kirby himself. gooey too i think! she also keeps her distaste for people well hidden, or is quite open minded--it's difficult to tell, so nothing for the "gets along with the least" part of the question either.

Dark Taranza for the Blorbo Blingus template. The world must know your epic swag opinions on this random guy.

Semi-coherent headcanon ramble under cut.

He was created after the events of Triple Deluxe. He has all of Taranza's memories up until that point, and carries the same guilt over what happened with the Dimension Mirror.

Instead of processing this himself, though, he offloads it onto Taranza and blames him for Sectonia's death - despite the fact they were the same person at that time. He's still so wrapped up in losing her that he fails to process just how badly she treated him.

Taranza met friends during the events of Star Allies who helped him cope with his guilt and grief. Eventually, he's able to mostly get over what happened and put it behind him.

Dark Taranza, though, is still very lonely. He has nobody to talk to in the Mirror World and no way to healthily process his feelings. Long after everything happened, he's still distraught and bitter. He's plotting to leave the Mirror World and take over Floralia, which will give him the resources he needs to try and bring Sectonia back. This won't work, but he'll try anyways.

After Triple Deluxe, Taranza moved away from using puppetry magic and towards spider silk based magic like we see in Star Allies. This is partially because he has little use for it anymore and partially because he got to know Dedede better and realized how fucked up it was.

Dark Taranza leaned further into puppetry magic and is much better at it now than Taranza was. Part of his scheme to become the king of Floralia involves possessing a bunch of people.
