thinking about how daft punk have stated that they always wanted their music to sound like other people's music and they're known for using samples of others in almost every song and their first album is called homework because they're the students of the musical masters that came before them and their song teachers is them naming all their musical inspirations who made the album possible and throughout their career together they became the masters themselves and and and

My backstory for Frey in Dragon Age Origins is that she’s a city elf mage that was taken to the Circle so young she barely even remembers her life before, and that during her Harrowing she inadvertently ended up bound together with Mouse/the Pride Demon. She refuses to tell anyone that, though, because fuck the templars and the Chantry🖕🖕 She’s gonna handle it herself.

The demon is annoying, but not strong enough to best her, so they’re stuck in a stalemate of driving each other mildly crazy while she’s trying to deal with the fucking Blight. She’s the only one who can communicate with him, but some characters who are sensitive to that sort of thing can sense it, so some NPCs are extremely put off by Frey and even hostile toward her. Which is fine by her, because fuck ‘em. She doesn’t need the approval of anyone, especially dumbass humans she’s so lonely though pls she just wants some friends 😭

#she and Leliana are somehow best friends even though Frey threatened the Revered Mother of Redcliffe right in front of her lmao #she wants to be friends with Morrigan but I think she’s too good-hearted deep down 😭 Morrigan hates her helping innocents #she keeps trying to banter with Alistair but he’s too soft and can’t take it #forspoken #Frey holland #Frey warden #I’m not sure how to tag these posts bc it’s not. Sure, it feels like you can never truly escape and reality is a joke, but it's warm and comfortable and familiar, like putting on a shirt you used to love wearing but then it kinda slipped into the back of the closet

Like it's pleasant but also bittersweet, it's remembering all sort of things you might have forgotten, and why it was so important to you back then and also right now. It can be introspective, just as much as it can be familiar.

but god do you suffer and god do you end up thinking there is no escape from your fate. It's really 'oh no i'm back on my bullshit' type of experience. It's nice but goddamn.

#in my case right now with ff7 it's really hitting hard because i hyperfocused on it at very different ages #first in 2007/2008 then in 2015 to 2017 then 2019/2020 and now right back again #and the stuff i focused on each time were a bit different and similar at the same time #and what kills me is that with the remake i've grown so. so tired of the fanbases esp on twitter #that it made me take some step back (+ all my complicated thoughts about the remake added in)#but it was always something i had in the back of my head and revered a lot #but seeing my theater do a screening of advent children i really thought it'd be a shame for me not to go #and by god i didn't expect the movie to hit me this hard and still connecting to me to that level #it's familiar and homey as much as it is deep and scary #because the good time and passion is intertwined with the sad and the tragic and the way it helped me going through hard times #and the general feeling of 'i thought i outgrew this.' only to be hit by new angles it comes to resonate with me #eerie as fuck at least.#but yeah. this is fine.
